Ace of Spades was the fourth album by the British heavy metal giants, Motorhead and its famous for featuring the band's trademark song of the same name as well as for being a major influence in the development of thrash metal. The classic lineup of Lemmy on bass and vocals, 'Fast' Eddie Clarke on guitar and 'Philthy Animal' Taylor on drums was intact and was on a serious roll following the release of both Overkill and Bomber a year earlier. Ace of Spades brilliantly summarizes everything that made this early incarnation of the band so legendary, making it the ideal Motorhead album. Reissued here on 180g Vinyl LP!

In 1996, after two years of continuous touring, Sublime branched out from their first two self-produced efforts and worked with outside producers. The majority of their self-titled album was recorded in Austin at Willie Nelson's Pedernales Studios, better known as 'Willie World.' At the helm was the legendary Butthole Surfer himself, Paul Leary (Supersuckers, Meat Puppets) while David Kahne (Fishbone and Soul Coughing) also handled duties on a few tracks.
Sublime, is a true study in versatility and a combination of everything the band learned from recording both 40 oz. to Freedom and Robbin' the Hood. The seventeen tracks on Sublime range from dancehall reggae to ska to psychedelic dub to Hendrix-influenced rock to early-eighties hardcore punk to amalgamations of all of these styles. Lyrically, the album explores everything from the joys of music and recreation to the realities of the infamous L.A. riots. The album was well received by critics and the public alike and enjoyed great success on the strength of the singles, "What I Got," "Santeria," "Wrong Way" and "Doin' Time." Orginally released in 1970, The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys was a departure from Traffic's largely acoustic reunion album, John Barleycorn Must Die which was released a year prior. Although the opening track, "Hidden Treasure" and the mellow closer, "Rainmaker" are remeniscient of their earlier work, it's the powerful songs like the impassioned 12 minute title track and the sneering "Light Up Or Leave Me Alone" that make the album the commercial and artistic apex of the second coming of Traffic. Here on 180g Vinyl LP.

Way To Normal Ben Folds $19.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
Ben Folds is best known as a solo artist and as the front-man/pianist of Ben Folds Five. He is celebrated for a sound that bridges the worlds of jazz and power rock. Ben Folds Five broke onto the scene as a refreshing break from the 90’s angst rock norm. After the band spilt, Ben’s first major solo album was 2001’s Rockin' the Suburbs. A year later, he released the live album, Ben Folds Live. His 2005 LP, Songs for Silverman, was released to critical acclaim. He followed with a series of EP’s, eventually releasing them as one package. Way To Normal is his first full length release since Songs for Silverman, a very honest look at the last few years of Folds’ life. “It’s a fairly un-orchestral record,” explains Folds, “It’s a fairly lyric-driven rock record.” Folds collaborated with Dennis Herring (Counting Crows, Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello) and the track “You Don’t Know Me” features a duet with indie songstress, Regina Spektor. This Double 180g LP Set is housed in a 12” gatefold vinyl jacket and includes a digital download card.

Oasis, one of the most commercially successful rock bands in history, joins Warner Bros. for the iconic British band’s seventh studio album, Dig Out Your Own Soul recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios and produced by Dave Sardy. The group’s first album since 2005’s critically acclaimed Don’t Believe The Truth, Dig Out Your Soul marks a new sound for Oasis, says Noel Gallagher, “I wanted to write music that had a groove. I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic and driving, with songs that would draw you in, songs that you would maybe have to connect to—to feel.” Already hailed as the band’s best work in a decade, Dig Out Your Soul has the makings to be a surefire classic. Live At Budokan Cheap Trick $18.99
180 Gram Audiophile virgin vinyl LP - Sealed
PRE-ORDER
While their records were entertaining and full of skillful pop, it wasn’t until At Budokan that Cheap Trick’s vision was truly realized. Songs like “I Want You to Want Me” and “Big Eyes” were pleasant enough in their original form, but seemed more like sketches compared to the roaring versions that appear here. With their ear-shatteringly loud guitars and sweet melodies, Cheap Trick unwittingly paved the way for much of the hard rock of the next decade and At Budokan is the essential document of the band at the absolute top of their game.
Legacy Recordings has gone to great lengths to present this classic album exactly the way it was originally intended, with all the warmth and nuance that only vinyl can offer!

Upon the breakup of legendary Krautrock duo Neu!, drummer Klaus Dinger formed La Düsseldorf with his brother Thomas and keyboard player Hans Lampe. This, their self-titled debut, was recorded in 1975 and is a staggering mix of Dinger's trademark motorik rhythms, glammy synths, pulsing organs and urgent guitar work that altogether creates a sound that, at times, predates both punk and post-punk, no small feat. Featuring their European hit single "Silver Cloud," La Düsseldorf's debut record is classic Krautrock on par with the best offerings of Neu!, Kraftwerk and Can.

Blanche weave eerily beautiful tales here, inspired by Depression-era blues, early country music, and stripped-down rock 'n' roll, all delivered in the style of an electrified gospel quintet. At the center of all this haunting yet inviting music are the married couple Tracee Mae and Dan John Miller. Little Amber Bottles is an album of redemption, and while it finds Blanche in an angrier mood, the tone is alternately aggressive and dreamy. The personal songwriting is more developed, with textured arrangements often soaked in reverb, resulting in a sophisticated, soulful simple sound.

Part one of Guns N' Roses' ambitious third album stays closer to the band's bluesy hard-rock roots and it is largely considered the better of the two part release. In the Jungle Groove was the first James Brown reissue to provide full-length and unedited versions of his classic funk vamps of the late-'60s and early '70s. Super-funky and hard-edged, In the Jungle Groove also included the unreleased “I Got To Move.” This new, remastered edition recreates the original album lineup with a key bonus track: a freshly mixed, extended version of “Blind Man Can See It,” another heavily-sampled track from the early ’70s that first appeared only as a two-minute LP track.

By the summer of 1969 Creedence Clearwater Revival was firmly ensconced as the American dance band, continuing to churn out hugely-successful hit singles, four of which are on this album (released August 1969). The title cut "Green River," along with "Commotion," "Bad Moon Rising" and "Lodi," were Top Ten singles in the classic rockabilly/ R&B tradition and together made this LP the group's first No. 1 album on the Billboard charts. Because of a penchant for developing tight, carefully crafted material before entering the studio, CCR recorded Green River in an astounding two-and-a-half days, after which the LP remained on the charts for 88 weeks, earning the group its second platinum LP.

Here To Stay Freddie Hubbard $49.99
180 Gram Virgin Vinyl 45 RPM LP - 2 LPs Sealed
One of the acknowledged giants of jazz trumpet, Freddie Hubbard recorded many albums for Blue Note in the 1960s. Due to the incredible quantity and quality of Blue Note recording sessions in the ‘50s and ‘60s, several of Hubbard’s’ most stirring albums went unissued at the time. There were times when the reason for Alfred Lion’s decision to hold back a session were quite clear. But there were many others, such as this gem, where one can only gather that the Blue Note office, in the early 60’s was simply too busy and chaotic to keep track of every session. Here to Stay, a true rare find, was first released as part of a two-LP set in 1979 after languishing in the vaults for over 15 years. It features a Hubbard in his early twenties, and most definitely in his prime. Freddie was a member of Art Blakely’s Jazz Messengers at this time. In fact, the lineup of musicians is comprised of the Jazz Messengers of the day (with Wayne Shorter on tenor, pianist Cedar Walton and bassist Reggie Workman) with drummer Philly Joe Jones filling in for Blakey. The music is fiery, brilliant and full of excitement, including a particularly memorable version of “Body and Soul”. Here to Stay is a hard bop rarity (now heard in stunning fidelity) from some of the top young lions of the 1960s. It is, quite simply, one of the most inspired albums of Hubbard’s career.

Ray LaMontagne emerged in 2004 from a secluded family life in Maine seemingly fully formed as a singer, songwriter and performer. His 2004 debut, Trouble, became one of that year's most acclaimed releases, spawning an instant classic single in the album's title track. He returned two years later with the stunning Till The Sun Turns Black, a deeply personal work haunted by a complex and compelling melancholy. The album proved both another popular and critical success, debuting in the top 30 on the Billboard charts and further marking Ray LaMontagne as a major American artist.

Tim Replacements, The $17.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
The Replacements' 1985 major-label debut, Tim was the last album to feature the original lineup. A departure from the raw, punk-rock aesthetic that dominated their Twin/Tone releases, Tim showcases Paul Westerberg's gift for songcraft with the uptempo rock anthems "Bastards Of Young" and "Left Of The Dial," the poignant ballad "Here Comes A Regular" and the clever lyricism of "Little Mascara." Westerberg's gritty yet melodic vocals convey a sense of urgency that perfectly compliments the rough-hewn songs and this maturing, tighter sound would be a hallmark of subsequent Replacements albums. Sad Wings Of Destiny Judas Priest $18.99

The groundbreaking Sad Wings of Destiny was the first great Judas Priest album, simultaneously taking the entire heavy metal genre to new depths of darkness and new heights of technical precision and musicality. The album was an important milestone in the eventual development of the progressive metal subgenre, and established a standard of excellence to which Judas Priest would adhere through the remainder of the '70s.

Doc Watson and his late, great son Merle are the benchmark for folk and country guitar players. If you’ve never heard their incredible guitar work and Doc’s authentic vocal readings of folk classics, you are in for a treat. If you have an original '60s pressing you too are in for an ear-opening surprise! Captured in the natural ambience of a small room this is as real as guitars and vocals get! The amazing virtuosity of the instrumental cuts like "Nothing To It" and "Sweet Georgia Brown" combined with classics like "Tennessee Stud," not to mention many others, makes this timeless classic a must-own for all.

POD The Breeders $19.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
Though ostensibly a side project of The Pixies' Kim Deal and Throwing Muses' Tanya Donelly, The Breeders' 1990 debut, Pod, has held up as a classic of late 80s/early 90s off-kilter alternative pop, surpassing the contemporaneous work of their main bands. Though Deal would really hit the big time 3 years later with the Breeders' follow-up, Last Splash, and Donelly would do the same with her next band, Belly, Pod is the band's finest, most coherent, album and perhaps the high point in both their careers. Engineered by the legendary Steve Albini.

This Is Hardcore Pulp $24.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
Originally released in 1998, Pulp's This Is Hardcore, was at once the artistic pinnacle of 90's Brit-pop, and the genre's comedown record, marking the end of an era with its ruminations on growing old (Jarvis Cocker wrote and recorded the album at the age of 33, which may also explain the album's Jesus fixation), fearful, and bitter. Drawing influence from Bowie and Roxy Music, rather than the Stones and Beatles, Cocker crafted one of the darkest yet anthemic albums of all time. An absolute masterpiece. Here on a double gatefold 180g vinyl LP.

Aux Armes Et Caetera Serge Gainsbourg $19.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
Originally released in 1979, this is the first (and best) of Serge Gainsbourg's two forays into reggae. Recorded in Jamaica with some of reggae's biggest names including players/producers Sly & Robbie. Probably Gainsbourg's last truly classic album, Aux Armes Et Caetera is full of dubbed out tracks and Serge's signature speak-sing drawl. His reworking of the French national anthem in the title track earned him death threats from members of the French right-wing, adding to his controversial image. Sultry, stony, dubby, jams from one of the 70s most important artists.

The year after he formally disbanded his trio to turn his attention to vocal pop music, Nat King Cole went into the studio with guitarist John Collins, bassist Charlie Harris and drummer Bunny Shawker and recorded Penthouse Serenade, a quiet, reflective set of standards like "Somebody Loves Me" and "Laura" that he performed instrumentally at the piano. The album confirmed that, whatever success he might be having as a singer, he hadn't lost his touch on the ivories.

For the middle album of his Johnny Winter-produced, late-'70s music trilogy, blues giant Muddy Waters brought a new spirit to some familiar material. Starting with members of Waters' touring band: Pinetop Perkins, Bob Margolin and Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Winter added underrated guitarist (and longtime Waters foil) Jimmy Rogers and extraordinary harp player Big Walter Horton to the mix. The songs recorded for I'm Ready offer a mix of new material and vintage hit singles like the title cut, the mid-'60s jewel "Screamin' and Cryin' " and the Willie Dixon-penned classic "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man."

When this album was released in 1970, Steve Winwood was the primary songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist, and he was leading Traffic as a trio with Chris Wood on horns and Jim Capaldi on drums. John Barleycorn Must Die expands upon the jamming that characterized their earlier work and it yielded the group's first gold album. Black Rose: A Rock Legend would prove to be Thin Lizzy's last true classic album (and last produced by Tony Visconti). Guitarist Brian Robertson was replaced by Gary Moore prior to the album's recording. Moore had already been a member of the band in the early '70s and served as a tour fill-in for Robertson in 1977, and he fits in perfectly with Lizzy's heavy, dual-guitar attack. Black Rose also turned out to be the band's most musically varied, accomplished and successful studio album, reaching number two in the U.K. upon its release. One of the '70s lost rock classics reissued here on 180g Vinyl from Universal Records.

The Harder They Come Jimmy Cliff $19.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
Jamaican filmmaker Perry Henzell made reggae an integral player in his gritty 1973 saga of a renegade Kingston singer who becomes a modern Robin Hood, casting one of the style's earliest stars, Jimmy Cliff, in the lead, and filling the soundtrack with classics from Toots & the Maytals ("Pressure Drop," "Sweet and Dandy"), Desmond Dekker ("Shanty Town"), the Melodians ("Rivers of Babylon"), and the Slickers ("Johnny Too Bad"). Cliff himself gets pole position, however, getting in the first ("You Can Get It If You Really Want") and last ("The Harder They Come") words in this first-rate reggae primer, which also features Cliff's enduring "Many Rivers to Cross." Reissued here on 180g Vinyl from Universal Records.

Last year Sunn O))) was invited to perform at an ancient cathedral in Bergen, Norway. The performance was captured via a 24 track mobile recording unit and the results were pressed onto double 180g black vinyl. The release is a vinyl only release and it will not be available on CD or as a digital download. The lineup for the performance includes Attila Csihar (Mayhem) on vocals, Steve Moore (Earth, Ascend) on the church's legendary pipe organ and Norwegian native Lasse Marhaugh on electronics.
"Our idea behind this concert was to commission a piece of music from Sunn O))) referring to teh gothic gregorian hymns of the Late Middle Ages. Hymns that flourished Bergen Cathedral in its earliest years: The age of the Great Famine and The Black Plague. The gregorian hymns of this time reflected despair, the terrors and darkness ofthe world. Musically the hymns consisted of long slow lines of unison melodies. The unisonity, the dark mood and the slow melodic development are all elements that also can be traced back to Sunn O))) and the medieval times gave brithd to this commision. - The festival curator, Nicholas Mollergaug's liner notes for the album

Cat Stevens' introspective and personal Mona Bone Jakon, produced by former Yardbird Paul Samwell-Smith, offers one of the singer/songwriter's earliest displays of spiritual yearning and world-weariness in pop culture. The compositions deal with the trials of fame, ("Pop Star"), personal hardships, ("Trouble") and faith ("I Think I See the Light.") The release also marked the emergence of Stevens' rich, distinctive baritone and established his trademark sound. Reissued here on 180g Vinyl from Universal Records.

I Want You Marvin Gaye $18.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
Marvin Gaye's 1976 album I Want You marked a change in direction for Gaye as he traded in his signature Motown soul for lush, funky, light disco and its subject matter was as close to explicit as pop records got at the time. While not as successful sales-wise as his previous landmark albums What's Going On and Let's Get It On, I Want You became Gaye's fourth top ten album on the Billboard 200 and his fifth number-one album on the R&B chart. Reissued here on Vinyl LP by Universal Records.

The arrangements by the brothers Eddie and Brian Holland together with Lamont Dozier contributed enormously to the success of the Motown label. Eddie had worked together with Berry Gordy before the Detroit company was formed and reached the charts with "Jamie" in 1958. Shortly afterwards he retired from the stage and instead wrote lyrics and arranged songs for the company's singers and bands. Together with his partners who worked as composers and producers with great success in the background, he created the Motown Sound. During the years 1962-1967, no LP was released on the Motown label without the custody of the perfectionist trio. This late, and perhaps best album by the Supremes stands under the auspices of the songwriter whose music is brought to life with depth, groove and total commitment by the three female vocalists.

In 1958, Frank Sinatra recorded Frank Sinatra Sings for Only the Lonely, one of five collections recorded for Capitol, consisting of saloon songs and bluesy ballads, lamenting lost love and heartache. Recorded over three days in Capitol's famous Studio A, Only the Lonely features sumptuous arrangements by Nelson Riddle who co-conducts here with Sinatra's resident concertmaster Felix Slatkin. The result is arguably his greatest ballads album.
Sinatra's tour de force versions of “What's New,” “Blues in the Night,” “Spring is Here,” “One For My Baby (and One More for The Road),” “Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry” and “Good-bye,” all became staples hereafter. Never forcing the emotion out of the lyric, 'The Chairman of the Board' let's it all flow naturally here and the result is a heartfelt affair, an ideal late-night album.
Mobile Fidelity mastering engineers have painstakingly re-mastered the titles in the Frank Sinatra Capitol recordings project with the utmost care and respect for the 20th century icon. Julian Cope's album You Gotta Problem With Me is another protest album in the tradition of his previous releases Peggy Suicide, Jehovahkill, Autogeddon, Citizen Cain and Dark Orgasm. Unlike most records by Cope's head in the sand punk rock contemporaries, You Gotta Problem With Me deals primarily with such controversial issues as religion, xenophobia and self doubt brought on by a combination of the war in Iraq, the 9/11 bombings and the EEC's latest huge wave of migrants from former Communist countries. The album also addresses all of Cope's other long term gripes: corporate greed and the destruction of Mother Earth, misogyny and homophobia, and our apparent inability to address such essential matters due to cultural ignorance and the glaring faults in our education system. Yes, Lenny Bruce and Bill Hicks are dead, but Cope's still pissed off enough to fly the flag for all three!

Anne Briggs' 1971 self-titled release was the first full length album from the legendary folk singer. She was a huge influence on the entire British folk-rock movement, especially on other female singers such as Sandy Denny, Jacqui McShee and Maddy Prior. This album features a strong collection of traditional folk songs and original material and it remains one of the most important releases of the British folk revival. Despite the fact that Briggs had been on the folk scene since the early '60s, this album wasn't released until 1971 due to Briggs' erratic behavior and studio fears and she would record only two more records before dropping off the scene entirely. Thankfully we have this, her first and strongest record, reissued here on 180g Vinyl LP with the original artwork.
