 Stormbringer (35th Anniversary Edition)
Deep Purple
$29.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Stormbringer falls short of the excellence of Machine Head and Who Do We Think We Are, but nonetheless boasts some definite classics -- including the fiery Lady Double Dealer, the ominous title song (a goth metal treasure), the sweaty High Ball Shooter, and the melancholy ballad Soldier of Fortune. Most of the other songs on the decent, if uneven, Stormbringer (which Metal Blade reissued on CD in the early '90s) are not essential. Like Come Taste the Band, Stormbringer will be of interest to Deep Purple's more enthusiastic fans, rather than casual listeners who would be much better off starting out with either of the above-mentioned studio projects or the live Made in Japan. ~ Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
2009 digitally remastered double vinyl LP 35th anniversary edition of the veteran British Hard Rockers' 1974 album comes with a crisp new remaster. Stormbringer was the ninth studio album by Deep Purple, originally released in November 1974. (and featuring the Mark 3 line-up of the band that included David Coverdale on vocals and Glenn Hughes on bass) this album, much more prominently featured the soul and funk elements that were only hinted at on previous album Burn. Live At The Boston Tea Party
Fleetwood Mac
$59.99
Vinyl LP - 4 LPs Sealed
|

By 1970 Fleetwood Mac was immensely popular, touring constantly both at home and abroad. In February of 1970 the band rocked Bostons legendary Boston Tea Party playing three amazing concerts there for three consecutive nights. The performances were recorded in hopes of releasing a live album, but front man Peter Green soon announced his decision to quit the band and the masters were promptly shelved. Some of the material eventually trickled out onto a few albums during the 1980s (Jumping at Shadows, Roots-The Original Fleetwood Mac Live in Concert, etc.), but the sound quality was consistently poor and much of the material was left unreleased. The recordings were finally given the treatment they deserved in 1998 when the original masters were uncovered and remixed at SRT Studios in the U.K. (by Nick Watson). These recordings were released the following year as a 3-CD box set called The Boston Box and now, for the first time, are being brought to vinyl, as a 4-LP book style limited edition deluxe collectors set with new vintage cover art. Essential Fleetwood Mac by any standards!

$79.99
Vinyl LP - 3 LPs Sealed
|
Plus Bonus Litho
History rocked and rock made history during a sold-out three-gig stand at Madison Square Garden in late February of 2008 when icons Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood performed a concert together for the first time since their all-too-brief days in the legendary Blind Faith in 1969. Flash Gordon is the motion picture soundtrack for the 1980 Dino DeLaurentis film, released just a few months after one of Queen's most commercially successful albums, The Game. The synthesizer-heavy release is comprised mostly of short instrumentals with dialogue from the movie inserted throughout. Flash Gordon contains plenty of first-rate compositions including the soundtrack's anthemic opener Flash's Theme and the underrated rocker The Hero, which closes out the album.

1991's Innuendo would be Queen's last album with founding member Freddie Mercury as he passed away several months after its release. A fitting end to one of rock's most successful original line-ups, Innuendo brilliantly balances blatant autobiographical songs like These Are The Days of Our Lives and The Show Must Go On with humorous tracks Delilah and I'm Going Slightly Mad and the band's signature pop fare I Can't Live With You and Don't Try So Hard.

Ranked 259/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
One of the most enduring musical partnerships of our time, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) are revered for their peerless vocal harmonies, inspired songwriting and musical virtuosity. When the trio first sang together at a friends Laurel Canyon house in 1968, their uncanny harmonic convergence was immediately apparent, and CSN took shape. Each member came to the new venture from other high-profile bands, Crosby from the Byrds, Stills from Buffalo Springfield and Nash from the Hollies, and together they formed that rarest of musical entities, a supergroup that lived up to its billing.
CSNs stunning 1969 self-titled debut album is one of the true masterpieces of the rock n roll canon. The album made it all the way to #6 on the Billboard charts and delivered two Top 40 Pop singles with Marrakesh Express and Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. Also features the CSN classics Guinnevere, Wooden Ships, Helplessly Hoping and Long Time Gone.
Crosby, Stills & Nash are a most important part of the brilliant history at Atlantic Records. The uniqueness of their vocal blend, as well as the uniqueness of each solo voice, made them the top vocal group in the world, and they are still today thrilling millions of fans they have accumulated over the years. 12-Song Collection of Previously Unreleased Demos from 1968 to 1971 Offers a Behind-The-Scenes Glimpse at the Earliest Days of One of Rocks Most Legendary Partnerships!
After four decades as three together, the creative partnership of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash is one of the most enduring and influential in contemporary music. This compilation of previously unreleased material takes an unprecedented look at the earliest days of their collaboration with 12 demos from 1968 to 1971 of destined-to-be-classic songs that would later be featured on CSNs studio albums and solo titles. While a number of demos feature members performing solo (and one finds them joined by Neil Young), the set opens with the trio harmonizing on Marrakesh Express, recorded four months before their self-titled debut LP was released in 1969. Other rarities include seminal takes on Almost Cut My Hair, Chicago, Long Time Gone, Love The One Youre With and Déjà Vu.
The collection, produced by Graham Nash and Joel Bernstein, reaches as far back as 68 with Stills My Love Is A Gentle Thing, and also features his solo classic Love The One Youre With. Highlights include CSN harmonizing on a January 69 take on Marrakesh Express, Crosby and Stills on Long Time Gone, and Crosby and Nash joined by Neil Young on Music Is Love (a song later featured on Crosbys solo debut If I Could Only Remember My Name). Among the other highlights are three songs that would appear on Nashs solo debut, 1971s Songs For Beginners, including Chicago and Sleep Song, and Crosby performing unaccompanied on Almost Cut My Hair and Déjà Vu.
On some of these songs you really hear us becoming a band, trying out different ideas in our songwriting and singing and harmonies. It really is a time capsule. Graham Nash

 Beck-Ola
Jeff Beck
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed

Jeff Becks position in the pantheon of great electric guitarists is indisputable. As visionary a musician as Jimi Hendrix, Beck made his name as the second of three hall of fame stringbenders for the legendary Yardbirds (following in the Slowhand shoes of Eric Clapton and preceding the pre-Zep/session gigging Jimmy Page). Known for his blistering leads and the wild chances he took as one of the first axemen to widely employ feedback during a solo, Beck immediately launched his solo career upon leaving the Yardbirds in 1967. Together with vocalist Rod Stewart and multi-instrumentalist Ron Wood on bass, he cut a pair of albums that expanded on the greatness of his previous work.
A year after Truth, Beck & company returned with the even thicker sound of Beck-Ola, an album often sited as one of heavy metals firestarters. Along with Stewart, Wood and pile-driving new drummer Tony Newman, the album features the inspired addition of storied session man Nicky Hopkins on keyboards. Hopkins added welcome texture to the albums seven tracks, most notably on the Hopkins-composed Girl From Mill Valley. Elsewhere, group tears through two Elvis Presley covers and four band compositions with an intensity that practically leaps from the stylus to the speakers.
Could a band this heavy, this hard-hitting last? Unfortunately no, it could not. Following the completion of the album, the group splintered on the eve of the Woodstock festival with Stewart and Wood leaving to join the Faces. Of course, Beck went on to future triumphs in a variety of genres and styles and Stewart and Wood found wider fame and fortune as well. How fortunate, then, that we have this time capsule from June, 1969, to document their seminal collaboration. Relive those electrifying moments on this superb Sundazed Music reissue, sourced directly from the original Epic analog session tapes and purposely pressed on high-definition vinyl. Its guaranteed to leave you All Shook Up!

In late 1966, Beck began work on Truth, his solo LP debut. Recording with his core group of Stewart, Wood and drummer Mickey Waller, Beck ventured far beyond the established rock guitar lexicon, forging a unique style which would influence generations of future acolytes. The LPs grand masterstroke, Becks Bolero, is recognized as one of the greatest guitar instrumentals of all time. Notably, the session musicians on this track represented the cream of the British rock scene: Jimmy Page on guitar, John Paul Jones on bass, Nicky Hopkins on piano and a Moon-lighting drummer from a mega-band who could not be listed in the credits for contractual reasons. Rumor had it he could see for miles, though.
The influence the album inflicted on the current and future rock scene could hardly be overstated. It showed the way forward toward a heavier, blues-based guitar sound (hello, Led Zeppelin) and provided essential instruction to guitarists from Tom Scholz to Stevie Ray Vaughan. The opening track, Shapes of Things, reworked a Yardbirds song and literally built a bridge from Becks immediate past to his present. The albums cover of the Willie Dixon classic, You Shook Me, beat Zeps version to wax by several months. Throughout the disc, Becks razor-sharp fretwork and enormous tonal palette surprises and amazes at every turn.
This benchmark recording is sourced from the original analog mono masters and is proudly pressed on high-definition vinyl. As another rock legend once said, Just gimme some Truth!

 Manassas
Stephen Stills
$39.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Between 1970 and 1972, Stephen Stills was busy playing with Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young and working on a series of solo albums. In addition to all this activity he led the super group that appears on this stunning release. Manassas finds Stills and company (Chris Hillman, Dallas Taylor and Al Perkins among others) at the intersection of rock, folk, country and blues. Distinctive styles are noticeable song by song, yet it is the strength and credibility of the mixture that makes Manassas such a great overall experience. The first fourth of the album focuses on '60s rock with Afro-Cuban overtones, followed by a batch of country and bluegrass-oriented material. The folk-rock track It Doesn't Matter kicks off the third section and the final section wraps the set up with the rootsy groove of Blues Man, a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Manassas is a rich and varied collection that is as sophisticated and complex as it is earthy and easy to listen to.

 Self Portrait
Bob Dylan
$28.99
Vinyl LP -2 LPs Sealed
|
One of the most controversial albums in Bob Dylan's remarkable catalog, the 1970 double-LP Self Portrait continues to exercise considerable fascination amongst Dylan devotees. Released on the heels of the artist's game changing Nashville Skyline, Self Portrait offered a quirky assortment of studio and live tracks, encompassing Dylan originals as well as covers of familiar pop and folk numbers, recorded with an all-star musical cast.
At the time of its original release, the sprawling, unconventional Self Portrait generated an immense amount of discussion and disagreement amonst Dylan admirers. The ongoing controversy surrounding the album has been fueled over the years by Dylan himself. At various times, Dylan has defended Self Portrait as a heartfelt artistic statement, dismissed it as a joke and described it as a concerted effort to escape the pressures of his unwanted status as the voice of a generation. Whatever the artist's actual intentions, Self Portrait retains a unique niche in the hearts of Dylan fans, and is often cited as an early landmark in the birth of alternative country.
Self Portrait's highlights include the Dylan originals Wigwam, later featured in the Wes Anderson film The Royal Tenenbaums; Living the Blues, subsequently covered by artists ranging from Leon Redbone to Antony Hegarty; and The Mighty Quinn, which Manfred Mann had turned into a British Invasion hit in 1968. The latter song is one of a quartet of live tracks drawn from Dylan's legendary performances with The Band at the historic Isle of Wight festival, along with memorable versions of the Dylan standards Like a Rolling Stone, Minstrel Boy and She Belongs to Me. Also featured are Dylan's readings of a variety of outside material, ranging from his iconic interpretation of the rural folk song Copper Kettle to his distinctive takes on such familiar tunes as Paul Simon's The Boxer, Gordon Lightfoot's Early Mornin' Rain and the vintage Every Brothers hits Let It Be Me and Take a Message to Mary.
Sundazed has restored this one-of-a-kind release to its original double-LP format. Mastered from the original analog master tapes, the album is pressed on high-quality, high-definition vinyl, with meticulously reproduced original gatefold cover art.

 After The Gold Rush
Neil Young
$36.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 71/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The second of three consecutive masterpieces Neil Young recorded between 1969 and 1972, After the Gold Rush captures the vibes, emotions, and cautious optimism of the era better than any album of its time. Moreover, it contains a host of impeccably written and performed songs that transcend the period and stand as an inextricable part of the American conscious.
Recorded at Youngs Topanga Canyon Ranch and featuring backing from the legendary Crazy Horse, the then-unknown prodigy Nils Lofgren, and several other friends, the 1970 album embraces many of the seemingly artistic contradictions and eccentric diversity that have made Young so peerless. The title track, a devastatingly gorgeous balladic meditation on the '60s and a warning of what may come in the 1970s, proved prophetic. Every other song is equally spectacular and significant.
The bristling whip-crack of Southern Man furthered Youngs no-holds-barred political commentary and prompted a response song in the form of Lynyrd Skynyrds Sweet Home Alabama, an anthem that its target praised. The country heartache of Oh, Lonesome Me simultaneously plays off and into the romantic spirit of the uplifting Dont Let It Bring You Down and the exuberant romp of When You Dance You Can Really Love. In one swoop, Young and company traverse the Heartland, Southern plantations, Appalachian valleys, and Los Angeles hills.
Having languished for decades, this masterwork (named as one of the '100 Best Albums of All-Time' by Rolling Stone) has finally received the long-overdue sonic treatment its deserved. Remastered from the original tapes by Youngs expert team and overseen by the artist himself, After the Gold Rush now sounds better than ever. Young has never sounded so immediate, detailed, rich, or present on a studio album.
The record joins 1968's Neil Young, 1969s Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, and 1972s Harvest as part of the initial batch of Young recordings pristinely mastered from the original tapes, pressed on high-quality audiophile-grade LP, and packaged in sleeves that faithfully mirror those of the originals.

 Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Neil Young
$36.99

Ranked 208/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
A colossal effort that signifies his first collaboration with Crazy Horse, bar-none the best garage-rock support band ever assembled, Neil Youngs Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere explodes with loose electricity, country-influenced harmonies, and fervent interplay that took melodic rock music in then-unforeseen directions. Moving away from the mellow fare that distinguished his self-titled debut, the pioneering Canadian icon stretches out and showcases his penchant for unhinged guitar solos and drifting arrangements.
Having come across the Rockets while recording his first solo outing, Young spared no time in recruiting the band for his own purposes. With the trio of Danny Whitten, drummer Ralph Molina, and bassist Billy Talbot renamed Crazy Horse, and Young ready with an energetic collection of tunes that called out for longer instrumentals and raw tones, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere was recorded in a scant two weeks time and just four months after Youngs prior effort.
His symbiotic chemistry with fellow kindred spirit and rhythm guitarist Whitten is evident on the drawn-out Cowgirl In the Sand and murderous Down By the River, both a tangle of rolling narratives, mysterious tension, amplified feedback, and longing emotion which remain staples in Youngs live repertoire. As does Cinnamon Girl, which is distinguished by one of the most famous and magnetic riffs of all time. At this stage of his career, Young had never written such an engaging and expressive set of songs and the album remains a landmark on which every tune is a classic.
Having languished for decades, this masterwork has finally received the long-overdue sonic treatment its needed. Remastered from the original tapes by Youngs expert team and overseen by the artist himself, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere now sounds better than ever. Young has never sounded so immediate, detailed, rich, or present on a studio album.

The selftitled 1970 album by Dutch rockers The Golden Earring showed the band embarking on a harder, rougher musical journey than their previous work. They were one of the first major European bands to tour the United States in 1969.
Clearly influenced by bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Doors, the band evolved from a 60's beat-group into a 70's rock band. The new (and still current) line-up of the foursome, fronted by charismatic singer Barry Hay, proved a successful one. After the release of this album the band started to gain international success, which grew steadily with the release of the following Seven Tears, Together, and Moontan. Due to the cover picture, the self-titled album is also known as Wall of Dolls.
For this 2009 reissue, we present the album in a gloss embossed gatefold sleeve and on 180 grams audiophile vinyl.

Blue Cheer
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed

Blue Cheer looms large in the annals of hard rock, laying down the sonic foundations of heavy metal, and serving as a crucial influence on the birth of punk, grunge and stoner rock. While the rest of the rock world was mellowing out and embracing the spirit of the Summer of Love, the seminal San Francisco power trio was churning out ballsy blues-rock anthems whose fuzz-heavy, adrenaline-charged intensity helped to alter the course of contemporary music.
Blue Cheers second album, Outsideinside, fully matches its predecessors primal power. The last Blue Cheer release to feature the beloved lineup of Stephens, Peterson and Whaley, Outsideinside is a bracing orgy of volume, distortion and aggression, with such highlights as Just a Little Bit, Come and Get It, the instrumental Magnolia Caboose Babyfinger and the bands distinctive take on the Rolling Stones Satisfaction. Like its predecessor, Outsideinside has been out of print on vinyl for decades and has long been prized by collectors.

Vincebus Eruptum, Blue Cheers landmark 1968 debut, is widely regarded as Ground Zero of the heavy metal explosion. The album, featuring the classic Blue Cheer lineup of guitarist Leigh Stephens, bassist/vocalist Dickie Peterson and drummer Paul Whaley, includes the trios mind-melting reading of Eddie Cochrans Summertime Blues, which became a Top 20 single, along with such raw, overdriven originals as Doctor Please and Second Time Around and distinctive reworkings of the blues standards Rock Me Baby and Parchment Farm. Long out of print on vinyl, with original copies trading for steep collectors prices, this legendary debut is available once again in its original format, complete with its unique original cover design.

 Y Not
Ringo Starr
$24.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
For the first time ever, Ringo Starr produces himself on his most personal album yet. Ringo is joined on Y Not by old and new friends including Paul McCartney, with whom Starr sings on Y Nots stunning first single, Walk With You, a moving new song about the power of friendship.
Y Not is a groovy and deeply felt song cycle that finds Ringo leading a smaller core group of old and new friends including longtime pal and recent brother-in-law Joe Walsh, Dave Stewart and longtime Roundheads member Steve Dudas on guitar, Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on keyboards, Don Was and Mike Bradford on bass. The album also features Starrs engineer and co-producer Bruce Sugar on keyboards, as well as some special guests like Joss Stone, Ben Harper and Richard Marx on vocals, Ann Marie Calhoun on violin and Tina Sugandh (aka Tina The Tabla Girl) on tabla and chanting.
Starrs songwriting collaborators on Y Not also include familiar and new names like Joe Walsh, Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Glen Ballard, Richard Marx, Van Dyke Parks, Gary Nicholson plus Gary Wright and former Roundhead band member, Gary Burr. Yet no collaborator featured on Y Not is likely to receive as much attention as Starrs former bandmate and longstanding mate Paul McCartney, who adds a characteristically brilliant bass part to the inspiring Peace Dream, Starrs latest heartfelt plea for peace and love and even more notably provides his unmistakably fabulous vocals to Walk With You, an exquisite new composition by Starr and Van Dyke Parks.
Indeed, theres a whole lot of genius on display throughout Y Not. Highpoints here include Fill In The Blanks, the albums rocking opening track written, played and sung only by Starr and Walsh. Then theres The Other Side Of Liverpool, a revealing autobiographical song that explores Starrs earliest and darkest days.
Track Listing:
1. Fill In The Blanks
2. Peace Dream
3. The Other Side Of Liverpool
4. Walk With You
5. Time
6. Everyone Wins
7. Mystery Of The Night

The great manifesto of the psychedelic rock era, the Jimi Hendrix Experience's Electric Ladyland is the culmination of resounding experimentation and several years of band chemistry, as well as Hendrix's continual development as a guitarist seemingly capable of anything and limited only by what he couldn't think of doing. As the trio's final studio recording together, it's also the band's most adventurous, and collaborative, as Steve Winwood, Al Kooper, Buddy Miles, Jack Casady, and Chris Wood all make guest apprarances. Featuring everything from sensitive wah-wah playing (Burning of the Midnight Lamp) to the all-time best version of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower, with Hendrix infusing the song with requisite mystery and mayhem, to the magnetic riff passages of Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Electric Ladyland remains one of the most fully realized and referenced recordings in history. And until now, it's never received the sonic facelift it's not only needed, but deserved.
Mastered from the original analog tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this 2LP set is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. This is also the first-ever audiophile edition of Electric Ladyland. We guarantee it will absolutely blow away whatever analog or digital version you've heard before. It's no wonder that this release spearheads Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history.
Ranked by Rolling Stone as the 54th greatest album ever made, Electric Ladyland epitomizes the passion, soulfulness, exoticism, and emotion that makes music such a part of our life. You will not want to live without this record. Even in death, Hendrix lives forever.

Hendrix Has NEVER Sounded Better on Any Format or Pressing!
First Rays Of The New Rising Sun, the last graceful gesture by pioneering guitarist Jimi Hendrix, is the first album prepared under the supervision of his family. It compiles 17 songs whose creation span from March of 1968 to the last sessions at Electric Lady Studios in August of 1970, and which Hendrix inteded for release on this album, which was being made at the time of his tragic death. The material finds Hendrix expanding upon the parameters of his voice, concentrating on his singing while also embracing soul music more than he had on his other recordings. Hence, listeners hear funkier, bluesier, and R&B-slanted elements on this staggering set, which in no way comes off as a cheaply thrown-together posthumous release. Rather, given the level of experimental psychedelic exploration and dreamlike tones throughout, First Rays of the New Rising Sun rightly takes its place as Hendrix's final studio album. And it's never sounded so amazing.
Mastered from the original analog tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this LP is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. It's no wonder that this release helps spearhead Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history. Albums don't get more essential than this.
Originally released in 1997, First Rays Of The New Rising Sun boasts many of Hendrixs most creative musical achievements, including Night Bird Flying, Angel, Dolly Dagger, Hey Baby (New Rising Sun), and In From The Storm. Finally, here is the link that connects Hendrix's involvement with the Isley Brothers with his own groundbreaking solo fare, now on a truly glorious-sounding pressing. An absolute must for any music fan.

The already insurmountable legacy of the greatest, most advanced rock guitarist to ever play a note just got better. Valleys Of Neptune, a newly curated album of 12 fully realized Jimi Hendrix studio recordings, contains more than 60 minutes of music never commercially available on any Hendrix album. Centered around tracks recorded during a pivotal and turbulent four-month period in 1969, Valleys Of Neptune unveils the original Jimi Hendrix Experience's final studio recordings for the very first time. Just as importantly, no expense has been spared in making sure this monumental release sounds as good as humanly possible. Mastered from the original analog tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this 2LP set is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. It's no wonder that this release spearheads Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history. Albums don't get more essential than this.
Valleys Of Neptune provides a fundamental, compelling, and largely unseen view of what Jimi Hendrix was doing in the critical period between the release of Electric Ladyland in October of 1968 and the 1970 opening of his own Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village. The state-of-the-art facility is also where he would begin his final project, the ambitious double album First Rays of the New Rising Sun.
Here, the group lays down the foundation for its follow-up to Electric Ladyland, alongside the guitar superhero's first sessions with bassist Billy Cox, an army buddy Hendrix had recruited into his new ensemble. As such, Valleys Of Neptune offers more than an hour of previously unreleased Jimi Hendrix music, newly mixed for this historic release by Hendrix's longtime engineer Eddie Kramer, who first worked with the guitarist on 1967's Are You Experienced? Valleys Of Neptune is produced by Janie Hendrix, John McDermott (who contributes detailed liner notes), and Kramer. The Valleys Of Neptune single has long been one of the most sought-after of Hendrix's recordings. But it's not the only reason to grab this set.
Other highlights encompass blazing studio covers of Elmore James' Bleeding Heart and Cream's Sunshine of Your Love, as well as premier performances of original Hendrix compositions like Ships Passing Through The Night, Lullaby For The Summer, and the original recording of the Jimi Hendrix Experience rendition of Hear My Train A Comin'. Also included is Mr. Bad Luck, a Jimi Hendrix Experience track, produced by Chas Chandler during the 1967 Axis: Bold as Love sessions.

 Live
AC / DC
$24.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Despite the fact that the band's best days were obviously behind them, a live album for AC/DC was all but completely necessary. After all, the group's first live release, If You Want Blood You've Got It, was recorded at a time when AC/DC was nothing more than a cult act that had yet to produce many of its future rock staples. Though recorded well into their career on the Razor's Edge 1991 tour, AC/DC Live surprisingly captures the hype and excitement that made AC/DC such a hit in their heyday. The set list wisely overlooks the songs from the band's mid-'80s slump and concentrates on hard rock hits such as 'Hells Bells,' 'Back in Black,' 'Highway to Hell,' and 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.' Brian Johnson's voice may not be as strong as in the early '80s, but he still sounds competent in his role. All too often, a live album is a cheaply made, rushed recording that only serves as a testament to a band's decline. AC/DC Live, however, shows what makes this band different from their peers here they are still entirely capable of pulling off a great live show. This ranks among the best live metal albums of the '90s. [In February 2003, the American distribution rights to AC/DC's back catalog transferred over to Epic, their new label. Epic reissued the band's catalog as remastered digipacks containing lavish, expanded booklets with plenty of rare photographs, memorabilia, and notes. Although the digipacks may wear a little too easy, the sound is terrific clean and muscular, enhancing the raw qualities of the original record and the packaging is loving, making the reissues necessary for collectors.

This 1980 album by The Golden Earring is proof of their ability to keep improving after an impressive lengthy career. Prisoner of the Night presents a collection of songs that combine pop hooks and hard rock muscle in a radio-friendly way.
The Golden Earring improve on this style instead of recycling it: The guitar riffs hit harder, the hooks are catchier, and the arrangements are more willing to take an occasional left turn. Good examples are No for an Answer which combines heavy guitar riffs with a killer singalong chorus. And My Town is an amped-up piece of driving power-pop that is worthy of Cheap Trick for instance.
The finest of the rockers is Long Blond Animal with its stomping beat, killer guitar riff and super-infectious chorus to create a blood-pumping, catchy rocker.
The end result is one of the finest albums of Golden Earring's career. It's a required listen for the group's fans and an album that is likely to win over any pop/rock devotee who gives it a spin.

 Are You Experienced?

Ranked 15/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
It's a collection of free feeling and imagination, said Jimi Hendrix about his boundlessly influential and still-pioneering 1967 debut album. A touchstone of psychedelic rock, the psychedelic era, and guitar-driven poetry, Are You Experienced remains one of the greatest albums ever released in any genre. Setting a then-unheard-of standard for what was possible with melodic feedback, rock, jazz, blues, soul, and pop fusion, and otherworldly guitar playing, the set is simultaneously rooted in the classism of the past, currency of the present, and promise of the future. Ranked as the 16th greatest album ever released by Rolling Stone, here is the record that inspired countless guitar heroes via frenzied jams, dream-laden landscapes, mind-melting performances, and amplifer-buzzing volumes. No guitarist has yet to master let alone catch up with Hendrix's visions. And the songwriting positively sings. Nobody should be without this record, which now sounds better than anyone can imagine.
Mastered from the original 2-track mix-down analog master tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this 2LP set is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. With all apologies to the previous Classic and Universal pressings, this Legacy edition is not only clearly better but much cheaper. You can't go wrong. Decisions don't come easier.
It's no wonder that this release helps anchor Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history. Featuring ageless classics such as Purple Haze, Red House, Stone Free, Hey Joe, and Are You Experienced, albums don't get more essential than this. A building block for every music collection.

Ranked 82/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Very few albums radically change the musical and cultural landscape, altering our perceptions by way of a mad combination of forward-looking performance, liberating lyrical narratives, spiritual overtones, and unimaginable sounds. Jimi Hendrix's sophomore Axis: Bold As Love is one of those records, a timeless and prophetic set that still seems as if it comes to us from the future. Unrelentingly ambitious, deeply mythical, and profoundly virtuosic, the stupendous 1967 collection dives into a pool of lustful psychedelia, earthy blues, cosmic soul, and unhinged rock. Along with jazz-schooled drummer Mitch Mitchell and melodic bassist Noel Redding, Hendrix establishes a new musical language, a foundation on which fellow guitar giants such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, and Prince would build. Ranked by Rolling Stone as the 82nd greatest album ever released, and leagues ahead of its time, Axis: Bold As Love is an absolute must-have for every music lover. Particularly now that it's finally been afforded the sonic treatment it's always deserved.
Mastered from the original two-track mix-down analog master tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this LP is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. With all apologies to previous editions from Classic and Universal, this pressing blows away any competition. It's no wonder that this release spearheads Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history.
Featuring seminal classics such as Spanish Castle Magic, Little Wing, and Castles Made Of Sand, Axis: Bold As Love stands as one of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's monumental moments, a tapestry scorched with color, sewn together with erotic threads, and varnished with rich personality. Do not miss this seminal pressing of a most seminal recording.

‘Sweetheart of the Rodeo’ is the 6th album by American rock / country band The Byrds and was originally released on August 30, 1968. Where the band’s previous LP, ‘The Notorious Byrd Brothers’, had an overall psychedelic rock sound, Sweetheart became purely a country record. Although The Byrds were no strangers to country music, it was country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons who had taken the band deep into the sound and feeling of classic country & western. Parsons, who had joined the band just for a short while, would experience this album to be an important chapter in his musical career since the record brought him to the attention of a mainstream rock audience.
‘Sweetheart of the Rodeo’ might not be the most commercial album of The Byrds, but today the record is considered to be one of the most influential country-rock albums in the history of music. Rolling Stone Magazine praised the album in its September 1968 issue, with Jon Landau writing “The Byrds, in doing country as country, show just how powerful and relevant unadorned country music is to the music of today.” Landau added “they leave just enough rock in the drums to let you know that they can still play rock & roll.”

Sheridan became a regular on the Hamburg club circuit, recruiting an ever-changing

Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Pete Best. Although still very much
on the scene, bassist Stu Sutcliffe did not appear on these sessions. While most of

Ranked 7/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Universal Music Group is pleased to announce the re-release of The Rolling Stones' album Exile on Main Street with an additional 10 never-before-heard tracks. The classic album is regarded as one of the greatest albums in rock 'n' roll history and one of the most defining in the Stones' legendary catalog.
Upon its release more than three decades ago, Exile on Main Street innovatively wove varying musical genres, instruments and even artists into a compelling rhythmic masterpiece. This new compilation features 10 tracks originally recorded during the Exile era and only recently discovered while working on the reissue project. The unearthed tracks which include such titles as Plundered My Soul, Dancing in the Light, Following the River and Pass The Wine have undergone a unique evolution, while staying true to the essence of the 1972 album. Alternate versions of Soul Survivor and Loving Cup also are a part of the Exile bonus materials.
As a complement to the release of Exile on Main Street, a documentary, Stones in Exile, has just been completed for fans to view on US Network television and through BBC Worldwide internationally. The documentary features rare, never-before-seen archival film, photos and interviews as well as new conversations with the band and the artists they influence. Produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker John Battsek and directed by Stephen Kijak, Stones in Exile offers an uncommon glimpse into the lives of the band as they created one of the greatest albums of all time.
The original 18-track double-album was recorded in various stages at multiple locations, including Olympic Studios in London, Keith Richard's mansion Nellcote in France, and in Los Angeles where the literal 'Main Street' influenced the album title. These atypical circumstances surrounding the recording process greatly affected the album's outcome which was highly reflective and influenced by the socio-political turbulence that marked the late `60s and early `70s. The Stones nixed the influences of a flower-child era and directed their creative process with the edgier, excessive, more is more approach of the `70s. Exile reveals a sprawling mix of genres with undertones of blues, country, R&B and gospel mixed with lyrics that fervently demand for release and liberation.
The album pulled together an electric array of talent including Dr. John, the late Billy Preston and pianist Nicky Hopkins. Guitarist Mick Taylor, who replaced Brian Jones in the band shortly before Jones died in 1969, is a magnificent blues player who brought an intensity and elegance to these epic tracks. At times, these musicians and others lived on the recording studio premises with the band creating an extremely open and creative collaboration for the album.
This super deluxe package includes a double vinyl LP set, a 30-minute documentary DVD with footage from Cocksucker Blues, Ladies and Gentlemen the Rolling Stones and Stones in Exile, and a 50-page collector's book with photos from the Exile era. The 10 unreleased tracks were produced by Jimmy Miller, The Glimmer Twins and Don Was.

(I Love You).
First come first served!
Hello (I Love You) is a song performed by former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters. The
song was created as a collaborative effort with Howard Shore for the 2007 film The Last Mimzy.
As Waters stated, I think together we've come up with a song that captures the themes of the
movie - the clash between humanity's best and worst instincts, and how a child's innocence can
win the day.
Waters performed vocals and the bass for the song.
The song itself contains references to the Pink Floyd albums The Wall and The Dark Side of the
Moon, as well as Waters' solo album Radio KAOS.

 Seven Moons

Seven Moons, an album by Jack Bruce and Robin Trower that sees these prominent members of the seminal British rock and blues scene of the 1960s back together and in fine form.
Robin Trower was the founding guitarist in the band Procol Harum and Jack Bruce needs no introduction as the lead vocalist of Cream who wrote a lot of their material, including one of the world's best-known rock guitar riffs in 'Sunshine of Your Love'. The duo made two joint recordings in the early 1980's, and have again teamed up on record, this time with British drummer Gary Husband - a member of Gary Moore's band and the pop band Level 42.
What makes Seven Moons such a success is that Bruce and Trower each play to their strengths, Bruce brings his distinctive croon/moan to bluesy, riff-oriented tunes dominated by Trower's playing. They conjure a Power Rock trio sound which touches on Cream and Hendrix yet draws from their own deep, dark wells of experience. Indeed it has been said that Seven Moons finds a space that Cream would have occupied had they recruited Hendrix: ballsy, economical, and confident. Trower, if anything, has toned down his usual space rock style, with some beautifully understated playing. Bruce's bass remains as it has always been, solid and tasteful, shunning the instrumental spotlight, whilst Gary Husband's drumming is also subtle, reflecting his jazz experience.
To sum it up simply, Seven Moons is a spot-on recreation of late-'60s blues-rock's halcyon days....Expertly done.

$22.99
Vinyl LP Reissue - Sealed

Money and Cigarettes marked several important turning points in Eric Clapton's recording career: his debut release on his own Duck imprint; the first album he made after giving up drinking; and new players (with the exception of second guitarist Albert Lee) including Stax Records veteran bassist Donald Duck Dunn and Muscle Shoals drummer Roger Hawkins, also bringing in guest guitarist Ry Cooder.
His new songs reflected on his changed condition, with Ain't Going Down, a thinly veiled musical rewrite of the Jimi Hendrix arrangement of All Along the Watchtower, serving as a statement of purpose that declared, I've still got something left to say. Other notable hits include The Shape You're In, the acoustic ballad Pretty Girl and covers of Sleepy John Estes' Everybody Oughta Make a Change (significantly placed as the album's leadoff track), Albert King's Crosscut Saw, and Johnny Otis' Crazy Country Hop.

 Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits

Remastered
Music On Vinyl re-release the famous 'red sleeve' Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits album. This record was a stalwart of every decent album collection in the early 1970's as it represented the first greatest hits package from Fleetwood Mac, covering the period from the band's beginning in 1968 through to 1971.
Fleetwood Mac in their original incarnation were led by guitarist Peter Green and were leaders of the second British Blues boom of the late 1960s. Fleetwood Mac enjoyed several hit singles in the United Kingdom at that time and these are collated here for this album, originally issued on CBS Records only in the U.K.
'Albatross' was a huge chart hit in the UK whilst the single 'Black Magic Woman' helped to break Fleetwood Mac in the U.S.A via a cover version by Santana, who placed their version in the Billboard Top 40.
The album gatefold shows a full-size photo of the post-Green line up of the band with Christine McVie (née Perfect), even though she just plays piano on a couple tracks and wasn't a full-fledged member until after Kiln House was released.

 Volunteers (Pure Pleasure)
Jefferson Airplane
$34.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed

Ranked 370/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
"Jefferson Airplane", wrote the magazine Rolling Stone, "is a ship which transports its passengers to the revolutionary fantasies of their own minds." If only the group had included such well-formulated psychological analyses in their lyrics, then they would probably not have shot so meteorically into the orbit of the psychedelic 'acid rock' scene. And what is more: as self-appointed executors of chaos and anarchy, they ‘turned on’ their fans with musical sexual allegories, drug-extolling lyrics and revolutionary songs. In 1966, armed with a lucrative recording contract from RCA-Victor, they won through against much opposition from recording company bosses and released their album "Volunteers", thereby bringing what is probably the very best recording from their early years to the public.
The music of these rock rebels is, in fact, a good deal less drastic than their texts. The leaders of the combo, Marty Balin and Paul Kantner, both of whom grew up in the Californian folk scene, have put their stake on melodic and rhythmically close-knit rock and multi-part vocals. And even today, one is still astounded by the wide range of styles favoured by the hippie generation, which stretches from the down-to-earth country music of "The Farm" to the electronically distorted collage "Meadowlands".
Musicians:
- Grace Slick (vocal, organ)
- Marty Balin (vocal)
- Paul Kantner (vocal)
- Jerry Garcia (guitar)
- Jorma Kaukonen (guitar)
- Steven Stills (organ)
- Nicky Hopkins (piano)
- Jack Casady (bass)
- Spencer Dryden (drums)
- Joey Covington (conga)
Recording: 1969 by Richie Schmitt and Joe Lopes
Production: Wally Heider and Al Schmitt
About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s – or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Blow by Blow is Jeff Beck's 1975 solo album and considered one of his best releases among fans and colleagues. Former Yardbirds sideman Chris Dreja had predicted in 1965 that Beck's current sound ...was 1975. In a glowing review on Allmusic, Mark Kirschenmann said that Blow by Blow ranks as one of the premiere recordings in the canon of instrumental rock music.
As an all-instrumental album it was a surprising commercial success, with a jazz fusion-like approach seldom seen on best-selling lists at the time. It was certified gold in 1976.
The album was produced by George Martin and recorded at his own AIR studios. Martin also composed string arrangements for two of the tracks, 'Scatterbrain' and 'Diamond Dust'. Stevie Wonder returned the favor of Beck's work on his 1972 LP Talking Book, by playing on Blow by Blow and contributing the song 'Thelonius'.
As a big admirer of fellow guitarist Roy Buchanan, Beck dedicated the track 'Cause We've Ended as Lovers' to him.

Golden Earring have been together since 1961 and the current line-up includes two founding members George Kooymans (vocals and guitar) and Rinus Gerritsen (bass, keyboard) along with Barry Hay (vocals, guitar, flute and saxophone) a member since 1968 and Cesar Zuiderwijk (drums) a member since 1970. They have had over 40 hits and 30 albums, many achieving either gold or platinum status in their home country, The Netherlands. They are best known for their 1973 hit single 'Radar Love' and their 1982 single 'Twilight Zone'.
In the summer of 1971, they recorded the album "Seven Tears" in Hilversum. They started to experiment, ended up on a psychedelic trip and used the now legendary ARP synthesizer for the first time. The album's highlight is 'She Flies on Strange Wings' an art rock epic that combines verses done in a stomping, heavy metal style with spacy choruses and a slow, dreamy midsection that is strongly reminiscent of Pink Floyd.
"Seven Tears" will be available again after being out-of-print for a long time.
The album comes with a gatefold sleeve and a booklet.

Ranked 366/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Remastered
After their 1972 breakthrough album & hitsingle All The Young Dudes, Mott The Hoople released their Mott album.
The single 'All the Way from Memphis' received considerable airplay on U.S. radio and the LP became the band's best seller to date in the U.S. Using the glam rock craze as their launch pad, the band straddled the widening gap between the teen-pop market and the college circuit. The LP Mott climbed into the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart.
By the time Mott was released it was clear that Ian Hunter had become the dominant figure of the band. Aside from the lead track, the album includes introspective songs such as Ballad of Mott The Hoople, which exposes Mott's near break-up, and the peculiar I Wish I Was Your Mother, featuring multi-tracked mandolin, in which Hunter sings of his wish to see his love as a child. Hard rockers are given their due with 'Whizz Kid', 'Drivin' Sister', 'Violence' and 'Honaloochie Boogie'. A fine performance is delivered by Hunter in the almost religious 'Hymn for the Dudes'.
In 2003, the album was ranked number 366 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

 Mojo (Out of Stock)
Tom Petty
$32.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
Temporarily out of stock

Some time in the last few years Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers took a left turn. Maybe it was when Petty woke up in the night with the idea of reuniting his first band, Mudcrutch, to cut the album they never got a chance to make back in the early 70s. Maybe it was when the Heartbreakers assembled the mammoth multi-disc The Live Anthology, which detailed thirty years of concerts. Maybe it was when they gave all their home movies, outtakes and live footage to director Peter Bogdanovich to create the Grammy-winning four-hour career documentary Runnin' Down A Dream. There have been side projects and experiments since the band last went into the studio to cut a new Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers album. With Mojo, they have taken their recent freedom and experimentation to heart. They have gone off the reservation and all signs indicate they aren't coming back.
The first thing that hits you about Mojo is that the spirit of the Mudcrutch sessions has carried on with the Heartbreakers. This is the sound of a band playing together in a room, not a studio, facing each other, all singing and playing at the same time. The music is alive, with no overdubs or studio trickery. What you hear is what they created on the spot at that time.
Tom Petty says, With this album, I want to show other people what I hear with the band. Mojo is where the band lives when it's playing for itself.
As for the songs, Mojo showcases a wide variety of American music from rock n' roll to country and both electric and acoustic blues. And then there are the images in Petty's lyrics which slip in on the melodies and set up a home in your head: The barefoot girl in the high grass chewing on a stick of sugar cane, the run-in with the law that begins when a carload of buddies decide to party with the motel maids, and the hilariously audacious idea of opening an album with an electric blues rocker about Thomas Jefferson's love affair with Sally Hemings.
Mojo has juice and guts but it also has some sweet balladry for the slow dancers and even a wacked-out reggae number that is unlike anything that the Heartbreakers have done before. It's the kind of album nobody's supposed to be able to make anymore. It got here just in time.
Track Listing:
1. The Trip To Pirate's Cove
2. Candy
3. No Reason To Cry
4. I Should Have Known It
5. U.S. 41
6. Takin' My Time

 The Razor's Edge
AC / DC
$17.99
Vinyl LP -Sealed
|
Although AC/DC's popularity had decreased by the early '90s, the band still had a lot of life left in it. Arguably the Australian headbangers' strongest album in over half a decade, The Razor's Edge is quintessential AC/DC rowdy, abrasive, unapologetically fun metal full of blistering power chords, memorable hooks, and testosterone-driven lyrics. Lead singer Brian Johnson sounds more inspired than he had since 1983's Flick of the Switch, and lead guitarist Angus Young isn't about to take any prisoners on such hard-hitting material as 'Shot of Love,' the menacing title song, and the appropriately titled 'Got You By the Balls.' Although not quite in a class with Back in Black, Highway to Hell, or Let There Be Rock all of which would, for novices, serve as fine introductions to the distinctive band The Razor's Edge was a welcome addition to AC/DC's catalog.
Track Listing:
1. Thunderstruck (Young/Young) - 4:52
2. Fire Your Guns (Young/Young) - 2:53
3. Moneytalks (Young/Young) - 3:45
4. The Razor's Edge (Young/Young) - 4:22

 '74 Jailbreak
AC / DC
$17.99
Vinyl LP -Sealed
|
Despite longtime AC/DC fans' immediate acceptance of replacement singer Brian Johnson (resulting in one of rock's all-time best sellers, 1980's Back in Black), there was still demand for Bon Scott-era unreleased tracks. Several of their early albums in Australia and Europe (such as T.N.T.) were later combined together for their first U.S. release, 1976's High Voltage, while several tracks were cut from the original versions and never issued stateside. 1984's five-song EP, '74 Jailbreak, features these forgotten tracks from the band's early days. 'Jailbreak' automatically became a concert standard when the EP came out, and it remains a mystery why it wasn't released earlier. Also included is the largely instrumental 'Soul Stripper,' a cover of 'Baby Please Don't Go,' plus a pair of Angus Young-Malcolm Young-Scott originals: 'You Ain't Got a Hold on Me' and the autobiographical 'Show Business.' Although '74 Jailbreak is by no means a definitive collection of early rarities (such compositions as 'Fling Thing,' 'Love Song,' 'Stick Around,' 'R.I.P.- Rock in Peace,' and 'School Days' remain unreleased in the States), it is a worthwhile, brief snapshot of early AC/DC.
Track Listing:
1. Jailbreak (Scott/Young/Young) - 4:40
2. You Ain't Got a Hold on Me (Scott/Young/Young) - 3:30
3. Show Business (Scott/Young/Young) - 4:43
4. Soul Stripper (Young/Young) - 6:23

 Who Made Who
AC / DC
$17.99
Vinyl LP -Sealed

On paper, Who Made Who is just a cheap soundtrack to a cheap movie (Stephen King's disastrous Maximum Overdrive), but it's actually much more than that. It serves as a ripping AC/DC retrospective, tearing through such classics as 'You Shook Me All Night Long' and 'For Those About to Rock,' adding the pounding title track to the band's canon, and rescuing overlooked songs like 'Sink the Pink' from otherwise mediocre albums. It's not a perfect retrospective there's no 'Back in Black,' 'Highway to Hell,' or 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' but what is here is terrific.
Track Listing:
1. Who Made Who - 3:27

'Wired' is Jeff Beck's 1976 solo album. It was this album that started a fruitful collaboration with former Mahavishnu Orchestra keyboardist Jan Hammer whom Beck toured with shortly thereafter. Beck and Hammer interplay extensively between each other by making his synthesizer sound almost identical to a guitar. The result was a more "synthesized" sound, hence its title, 'Wired'. Some tracks include members of the 'Blow by Blow' lineup. These tracks were recorded during the 'Blow by Blow' sessions but were left off that album and carried over to 'Wired. One of the most highly praised tracks is Beck's interpretation of the Charles Mingus classic 'Goodbye Pork Pie Hat'.

Sound-wise, it is more leaned on psychedelia and progressive rock.

The third studio album by English rock band Deep Purple, released in 1969 on Harvest Records in the UK and on Tetragrammaton in the US. It was to be the last album with the original lineup.
It was released at a time when the band were starting to grow as performers, both live and in the studio, finding their direction musically. There were some conflicts over whether the band should continue on their rawer, heavier direction. This caused turmoil, which was partially responsible for two of the members, Nick Simper (bass) and Rod Evans (vocals), being replaced. Commercially, this album was the least successful of the three Mark I era albums.

For Attention, Vol. 2, WWA combined Black Sabbath's title song with gems from Paranoid and Master of Reality. All of the classics heard on this seven-song LP are essential -- Sabbath was very much in its prime, and the band was recording some of the most important and influential songs in the history of metal. Imported copies of both volumes of Attention reached U.S. stores as an import, but because Black Sabbath, Paranoid and Master of Reality were all in print and offered much more interesting art work. Americans who bought either volume of Attention did so either because they were seriously into collecting vinyl or because they were audiophiles who liked the sound of European records.

Import Edition Includes 6 Cuts Not Found on the Original US Release or New Sony Legacy CD Reissue!
Featuring alternative cover art and six bonus tracks not available on the original release, this 2LP U.K. import edition of Are You Experienced is a must-have for collectors and fans alike. Pressed on virgin 180g vinyl at Music On Vinyl's Netherlands pressing plant. This is one 1967 set that needs no introduction!
"It's a collection of free feeling and imagination," said Jimi Hendrix about his boundlessly influential and still-pioneering 1967 debut album. A touchstone of psychedelic rock, the psychedelic era, and guitar-driven poetry, Are You Experienced remains one of the greatest albums ever released in any genre. Setting a then-unheard-of standard for what was possible with melodic feedback, rock, jazz, blues, soul, and pop fusion, and otherworldly guitar playing, the set is simultaneously rooted in the class-ism of the past, currency of the present, and promise of the future. Laden with ageless classics such as "Manic Depression," "Foxy Lady," "Fire" and "Red House," music doesn't get more essential than this.
Ranked as the 16th greatest album ever released by Rolling Stone, here is the record that inspired countless guitar heroes via frenzied jams, dream-laden landscapes, mind-melting performances, and amplifier-buzzing volumes. No guitarist has yet to master let alone catch up with Hendrix's visions. And the songwriting positively sings. Nobody should be without this record!

Black Rose: A Rock Legend is the ninth studio album by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1979. The album debuted at its #2 peak in the UK album charts and is the band's most successful studio album to date. It was the first time that blues rock guitarist Gary Moore remained in the band long enough to record an album after previous stints in 1974 and 1977 with Thin Lizzy. He appeared with frontman Phil Lynott in the rock band Skid Row in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Around this time Moore recorded the album Back on the Streets with Lynott, spawning the UK top 10 single "Parisienne Walkways" (with Lynott on vocals). He left Thin Lizzy that year following a dispute but worked with Lynott again on his tours in 1984 and 1985 and on the top 5 single "Out in the Fields" and accompanying album Run for Cover, on what were to be Lynott's final performances before his death in January 1986. Axl Rose has the cover of "Black Rose: A Rock Legend" tattooed on his right upper arm, and once said that he "wanted to show it to Phil Lynott, but then he died on me".[citation needed] The album included the second song Lynott wrote about a member of his family entitled "Sarah", the first song by this name having appeared on 1972's Shades of a Blue Orphanage, written about his grandmother, also named Sarah. The song on this album is about his then newly born daughter. The last track "Róisín Dubh" is comprised of traditional songs, all arranged by Lynott and Moore, as well of original parts. The song "Will You Go Lassie, Go" (Wild Mountain Thyme) is sometimes mistakenly credited as a traditional song, but was written by William McPeake, and first recorded by Francis McPeake (and is on this album credited to F. McPeak).

Renegade was the eleventh studio album by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1981. Though not his first appearance, this was the first album in which keyboard player Darren Wharton was credited as a permanent member, becoming the fifth member of the line-up. As such, he made a contribution as a song-writer on the opening track "Angel of Death". However, even though he had officially joined the band, his picture was omitted from the album sleeve. It was also their last album with guitarist Snowy White. By his own admission, White was more suited to playing blues than heavy rock and he quit by mutual agreement the following year.

Thunder and Lightning is the twelfth and final studio album by heavy-rock band Thin Lizzy, released in 1983. Guitarist John Sykes was hired to replace Snowy White after 1981's Renegade, and Sykes helped to provide a heavier sound and guitar tone than Thin Lizzy had used on previous albums. However, the bulk of the songwriting (except for "Cold Sweat") was completed before he joined the band. Keyboard player Darren Wharton also offered a stronger musical influence to Thin Lizzy's final studio album, co-writing many of the tracks including "Some Day She Is Going to Hit Back", and the final single "The Sun Goes Down".

Live and Dangerous is a live double LP by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1978. It was recorded in London and Toronto in 1977, during the tours accompanying the albums Johnny the Fox and Bad Reputation. Live and Dangerous was originally intended to be a studio album. Working with Tony Visconti, Thin Lizzy had had huge success with their previous album Bad Reputation, and the group wanted to work with him again. But since Visconti had a very tight schedule Phil Lynott came up with the idea that they spend two weeks together compiling a live album instead. After they had decided which tracks they were going to use, Lynott asked if they could re-record some vocals due to technical issues. After spending some time overdubbing various bits, noticing the impact on the result, they ended up re-recording all the vocals, guitars and bass. So the only real live elements of Live and Dangerous are the drums and the audience. Visconti justified this by stating that every track was performed before a live audience.

Producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who had previously worked with AC/DC on Highway to Hell, was again brought in to produce. The album was recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, and Electric Lady Studios in New York, where the album was also mixed.

Deep Purple need no introduction as one of the all-time great British rock bands. Their association with Montreux goes back to the early seventies, when their attempt to record their album "Machine Head" at the Montreux Casino was thwarted when it promptly burnt down, forcing them to make the album in the rooms and corridors of the Grand Hotel instead. The story was, of course, immortalized in their classic song "Smoke On The Water" which is the climax of this 1996 concert from the Montreux festival.

 Live In Montreux 2006
Deep Purple
$24.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Deep Purple need no introduction as one of the all-time great British rock bands. Their association with Montreux goes back to the early seventies, when their attempt to record their album "Machine Head" at the Montreux Casino was thwarted when it promptly burnt down, forcing them to make the album in the rooms and corridors of the Grand Hotel instead. The story was, of course, immortalized in their classic song "Smoke On The Water".
Few bands are more closely associated with Montreux than Deep Purple and there was simply no other contender when it came to choosing the act to headline the closing night of the 40th Montreux Festival in 2006. The band duly delivered one of their finest live performances, sprinkling songs from their latest album "Rapture Of The Deep" through a set chock full of their classic tracks and of course, a show-stopping performance of "Smoke On The Water".

“Santana III” is an album of lasts. It was the last album recorded with the original Woodstock]line up and the last to hit #1 in the Billboard charts until 1999’s “Supernatural”. But there are also a number of important firsts on this album; Coke Escovedo joins in for the first time on percussion, as does Neal Schon (Journey) – a mere seventeen when they recorded the album – on guitar. Santana III is seen by many as the band’s commercial and creative highpoint. The band sounds darker, more raw, and more eager with the doubling up on guitar of Schon’s rock´n´roll sensibilities and Santana’s ecstatic high notes and soulful fills. Escovedo’s and Chepito’s percussion is as fast as it is furious, and the minimal production adds greatly to the timeless appeal of this album.

David Bowie's eponymously-titled 1967 debut bears little resemblance to the music he found fame with later in his career as it's influences drew more on theater, music hall and vaudeville. Released in the same year as The Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, David Bowie is a distinct reflection of mid-'60s London with whimsical narratives and biting wit, an early sound from an artist that would hang his hat on the ability to embrace and usher in change.

Another Must-Have Installment in the Phenomenal Bootleg Series
Bob Dylan's The Witmark Demos are seeing their first commercial release on 180-gram 4LP vinyl nearly five decades after they were first recorded. Listening to these 47 original recordings, one can trace Dylans dramatic growth as a songwriter from early traditionally-styled songs like Man On The Street and Ramblin Gamblin Willie through the social commentary of Blowin In The Wind, The Times They Are A Changin and Masters Of War, and the groundbreaking lyrical genius of Mr. Tambourine Man. All of these songs, and all the others on The Witmark Demos, were written and their subsequent demos recorded before Dylan turned 24 years old.
Among the many gems found on The Witmark Demos are 15 previously unreleased Dylan songs which include the plaintive Ballad For A Friend, the civil rights era-inspired Long Ago, Far Away and The Death Of Emmett Till, and the poignant Guess Im Doing Fine.
The Witmark Demos also features a deluxe booklet featuring in-depth liner notes by noted music historian Colin Escott, as well as rare photographs of Bob Dylan captured during the same period as these early recordings. Absolutely essential!

Includes Deluxe Booklet + Rare Photos and Greil Marcus Essay
Bob Dylans first eight groundbreaking albums are returning for the first time ever in a limited edition box set of newly re-mastered mono versions on fully analog 180-gram vinyl.
The Original Mono Recordings are comprised of these albums painstakingly reproduced from their first generation monaural mixes as the artist intended them to be heard: One channel of powerful sound, both direct and immediate. While stereo recordings had been available as early as the mid-1950s, mono was still the predominant and often preferred mode of recording and mixing by the top artists of the 1960s. As a result, artists like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan devoted their attention to the mono mixes, leaving the stereo mixing process to studio engineers.
As is fitting for a box of this magnitude, The Original Mono Recordings are accompanied by a deluxe booklet, featuring vintage photographs of Bob Dylan and an expansive essay from renowned author and critic and longtime Dylan aficionado Greil Marcus. Each disc in the set comes in its own individual jacket which faithfully replicates the original album artwork, complete with labels and stickers that were found on the original 1960s releases.
Cut from the original analog mono masters by the legendary George Marino at Sterling Sound, we guarantee this is the best you will ever hear Dylan sound. This set is simply unprecedented--some of the most important and timeless music ever made, now in jaw-dropping sound that rivals what was heard in the studio control room. Don't miss this!
Also includes a limited edition 18" x 24" Bob Dylan poster.

Blockbuster 1977 Debut Packed With Anthemic Classic Rock Hits and Heroic Guitar Riffs
Feels Like the First Time: You've Never Heard Foreigner Sound So Immediate, Detailed, Warm, and Dynamic in Analog
System-Testing Sonics: Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Master Tapes
Blissful feelings arise at the mere mention of 70s arena rock. It gives listeners the permission to have fun, sing along to aircraft-hangar-size choruses, play air guitar solos, forget about any troubles, recall the experience of a first kiss, and quite simply, rock out. Few albums better instill these pleasures than Foreigners 1977 self-titled debut album, a five-times platinum blockbuster chock full of salacious riffs, soaring vocals, edgy beats, and lyrics that practically demand to be shouted. And while the record has always boasted clean, immediate production, never before has it exploded with the dynamic intensity and rich transparency now made possible on Mobile Fidelitys dynamic 180g LP. This is what rock n roll dreams are made of.
Spearheaded by guitar hero Mick Jones, fresh off success with Spooky Tooth, Foreigner rallied around a talented collective pulled from the U.S. and U.K. Joining up with former King Crimson instrumentalist Ian McDonald and drummer Dennis Elliott, as well as keyboardist Al Greenwood and bassist Ed Gagliardi, Jones completed the puzzle with the addition of extraordinary singer Lou Gramm, whose vocal timbre and limitless pipes remain one of the most instantly identifiable combinations in music. Before long, two eternal radio classicsFeels Like the First Time and Cold As Ice, composed on a miniature piano and inspired by Hollywood star Joan Crawfordwere in the bag. Eight more tunes, each as solid as those that came before, followed, and Foreigner quickly became an overnight rock sensation.
In contrast to much of the eras angrier fare and crudely produced music, Foreigner stood out by way of its clean, muscular, professional production. Still, Mobile Fidelity believed that underneath the surfaces, an even fresher, bigger-sounding record loomed. Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, MoFis 180g LP presents the sextets roof-raising anthems and scintillating blend of guitars, synths, and Gramms soulful vocals across a wider, deeper soundstage than ever before imagined. Instrumental separation, tonal balance, and imaging are absolutely superb. Better still, the songs come across with an assertive liveliness that adds to their enjoyment, structure, and melodic character. The accessory flutes, saxophones, and synthesizer solos have never sounded so enmeshed within the overall sonic fabric.
Get ready to hear your new favorite 70s rock album and push the limits of your systems dynamics.

 Drama
Yes
$24.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
1980 was an interesting year for the legendary prog-rockers Yes. While the Close To The Edge line-up was taking a break for a few years, founding member Chris Squire maintained the legendary status of the band along with long-time band mates Steve Howe and Alan White, with new members Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes (both from The Buggles), and created the hard rocking masterpiece Drama.
A bit of a departure from the more classically oriented feel of previous efforts, this album slammed all the way to the top of the rock charts! From the kick off track "Machine Messiah," Yes was a new entity with a lot of guts, flair for delivering a hit album, and a darling of the new video medium thanks to the support of outlets like MTV.
New Yes vocalist Trevor Horn and keyboardist Geoff Downes were nothing but first class musicians from the word go, and the writing of the band in total truly generated some of the more enduring tunes in their four decade long catalog. For instance, the entire side two of this album was usually played in its entirety at radio due to the power of each song. With stand outs like "Into The Lens" with its I Am A Camera refrain, it was easy to hear why this new edgy Yes sound truly resonated in the early '80s. If you need more proof, how about the incredible musicianship on "Run Through The Light," and of course the super hit "Tempus Fugit," both of which made this album the classic that it is to this day. Steve Howes guitar work was second to none, along with some very heavy bass and drum work throughout from Chris Squire and Alan White, Drama was truly a remarkable team effort for Yes.
Friday Music is once again the proud home of yet another classic Yes masterpiece, with their masterwork Drama. Issued here for the first time in the 180g audiophile vinyl format, the fans have been requesting this and of course, we heard you loud and clear. This limited edition album is mastered from the original Atlantic tapes by Joe Reagoso (Close To The Edge/90120/Relayer) and also includes the limited edition gatefold cover, as you remember it.
Track Listing:
1. Machine Messiah
2. White Car
3. Does It Really Happen?
4. Into The Lens
5. Run Through The Light
6. Tempus Fugit

 Band Of Joy
Robert Plant
$29.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Exploring the similar roots and psychedelic elements he did on 2007's six-time Grammy-winning Raising Sand, his collaboration with Alison Krauss, Robert Plant returns with the even more engaging and curious Band of Joy. Recorded in Nashville with a stellar cast of musicians, the scintillating album of covers and originals was co-produced by Plant and former Emmylou Harris lead guitarist Buddy Miller. You don't want to miss this one, replete with incredible atmospherics and textures that come to life in astounding 3D fashion on this analog pressing.
Everything about Band of Joy connects the past with the present. In 1967, Plant had also formed a group called the Band of Joy, with drummer John Bonham. The rest is history, as Bonham, Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, and bassist John Paul Jones assembled to become The New Yardbirds and, ultimately, Led Zeppelin. Since that time, Plant has put his wide-ranging musical fascination to good use on solo albums and in recordings with bands like The Honeydrippers, Priory of Brion, and Strange Sensation. His performances have reflected his embrace of West Coast psychedelic rock, roots blues, African music, and traditional folk. Plant continued to expand his horizons with 2007s Raising Sand, a collaboration with Krauss.
"Co-producing with Miller, Plant washes the 12-song set in rich, salty baths of texture, timbre, tone, and atmosphere. Sonics, feel, and space play as much a part of the experience as the arrangements. The psychedelia-treated roots material here is more thrilling than the cosmic country and gypsy soul that peppered 2007s Raising Sand."
