Live In L.A. Crosby, Stills & Nash $34.99
Vinyl LP- 2 LPs Sealed
On their tour promoting Daylight Again, Crosby, Stills & Nash played three nights at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles over the Thanksgiving Day weekend in 1982 and they taped and filmed the shows for a TV special. The Dutch Immortal label has now licensed the audio tracks for this 21-song set and it chronicles a high point in the band's legendary career. The set for Live In L.A. draws from CSN's back catalog of hits and favorites, starting with an electric set that gives way to an extended acoustic segment that further breaks down into solo spots and then revving back up for an electric finish before sending the crowd out with a singalong of "Teach Your Children" and the folk blues "Daylight Again." Along with the CSN hits, there are occasional borrowings from the individuals' repertoire (Crosby & Nash's "Wind on the Water" suite, Stills' "For What It's Worth" from his Buffalo Springfield days and a CSN arrangement of the Beatles' "Blackbird").

One of the most enduring musical partnerships of our time, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) are revered for their peerless vocal harmonies, inspired songwriting and musical virtuosity. When the trio first sang together at a friend’s Laurel Canyon house in 1968, their uncanny harmonic convergence was immediately apparent, and CSN took shape. Each member came to the new venture from other high-profile bands, Crosby from the Byrds, Stills from Buffalo Springfield and Nash from the Hollies, and together they formed that rarest of musical entities, a supergroup that lived up to its billing.
CSN’s stunning 1969 self-titled debut album is one of the true masterpieces of the rock ’n’ roll canon. The album made it all the way to #6 on the Billboard charts and delivered two Top 40 Pop singles with “Marrakesh Express” and “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.” Also features the CSN classics “Guinnevere,” “Wooden Ships,” “Helplessly Hoping” and “Long Time Gone.”
“Crosby, Stills & Nash are a most important part of the brilliant history at Atlantic Records. The uniqueness of their vocal blend, as well as the uniqueness of each solo voice, made them the top vocal group in the world, and they are still today thrilling millions of fans they have accumulated over the years.” — Ahmet Ertegun

12-Song Collection of Previously Unreleased Demos from 1968 to 1971 Offers a Behind-The-Scenes Glimpse at the Earliest Days of One of Rock’s Most Legendary Partnerships!
After four decades as “three together,” the creative partnership of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash is one of the most enduring and influential in contemporary music. This compilation of previously unreleased material takes an unprecedented look at the earliest days of their collaboration with 12 demos from 1968 to 1971 of destined-to-be-classic songs that would later be featured on CSN’s studio albums and solo titles. While a number of demos feature members performing solo (and one finds them joined by Neil Young), the set opens with the trio harmonizing on “Marrakesh Express,” recorded four months before their self-titled debut LP was released in 1969. Other rarities include seminal takes on “Almost Cut My Hair,” “Chicago,” “Long Time Gone,” “Love The One You’re With” and “Déjà Vu.”
The collection, produced by Graham Nash and Joel Bernstein, reaches as far back as ’68 with Stills’ “My Love Is A Gentle Thing,” and also features his solo classic “Love The One You’re With.” Highlights include CSN harmonizing on a January ’69 take on “Marrakesh Express,” Crosby and Stills on “Long Time Gone,” and Crosby and Nash joined by Neil Young on “Music Is Love” (a song later featured on Crosby’s solo debut If I Could Only Remember My Name). Among the other highlights are three songs that would appear on Nash’s solo debut, 1971’s Songs For Beginners, including “Chicago” and “Sleep Song,” and Crosby performing unaccompanied on “Almost Cut My Hair” and “Déjà Vu.”
“On some of these songs you really hear us becoming a band, trying out different ideas in our songwriting and singing and harmonies. It really is a time capsule.” — Graham Nash

CSNY's First Album In Nearly A Decade!
CSNY provided much of the soundtrack for the antiwar movement of the Vietnam era, and four decades later, they’re doing it again. In 2006, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young reunited for the Freedom Of Speech Tour. In 2008, they premiered CSNY/Déjà Vu, a feature-length documentary based on that controversial tour and now the only place to hear those impassioned performances is here on this Double 200g edition of CSNY/Déjà Vu Live! A mix of CSNY classics and more recent antiwar material from Neil Young, CSNY/Déjà Vu Live marks the return to the socio-political stage of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young in a musical déjà vu!
CSNY made its debut with 1970’s #1 Déjà Vu, seven-times platinum, but then broke up, though the double live 4 Way Street followed in 1971 and went #1 and quadruple platinum. A 1974 summer reunion tour inspired the live compilation So Far, #1 and six times platinum. They returned once more with 1988’s platinum studio disc American Dream. After another hiatus, they were back with 1999’s Looking Forward. CSNY/Déjà Vu Live is the foursome’s first album in nearly a decade.
This vinyl release features two 200g black vinyl discs, pressed at Furnace (in Japan) and packaged in a paper-wrapped Stoughton gatefold jacket.

Stephen Stills Stephen Stills $29.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
With his 1970 self-titled solo debut, Stephen Stills, like his CSN&Y bandmates, decided to explore other musical avenues. Stills offers up his trademark Southern California folk-pop sound here while incorporating the Latin, swamp and blues influences that were just beginning to emerge in his songwriting. The London session allowed Stills to finally team up with Eric Clapton on the track "Go Back Home" and Jimi Hendrix, who died prior to the album's release, is notably featured on the track "Old Times, Good Times." Other collaborators include John Sebastian, Rita Coolidge, David Crosby, Graham Nash and Cass Elliot. Features two of Stills' biggest hits with "Love the One You're With" and "Sit Yourself Down."

Between 1970 and 1972, Stephen Stills was busy playing with Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young and working on a series of solo albums. In addition to all this activity he led the super group that appears on this stunning release. Manassas finds Stills and company (Chris Hillman, Dallas Taylor and Al Perkins among others) at the intersection of rock, folk, country and blues. Distinctive styles are noticeable song by song, yet it is the strength and credibility of the mixture that makes Manassas such a great overall experience. The first fourth of the album focuses on '60s rock with Afro-Cuban overtones, followed by a batch of country and bluegrass-oriented material. The folk-rock track "It Doesn't Matter" kicks off the third section and the final section wraps the set up with the rootsy groove of "Blues Man," a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Manassas is a rich and varied collection that is as sophisticated and complex as it is earthy and easy to listen to.
