Dan Fogelberg was known for having the knack to successfully record some of the classiest rock and melodic pop recordings during his short time on Earth. His albums are legendary and his status as one of classic rock’s premier icon acts is unmatched.
For his second LP Souvenirs, Dan enlisted the help of good friend and fellow superstar Joe Walsh, giving the country rocker a more polished rock approach bringing this Lp to the top of the charts in 1974.
This multi-platinum smash contained some of his biggest hit singles and rock tracks like the album opener Part Of The Plan (featuring Graham Nash), the gutsy guitar rocker When The Raven Flies and the acoustic rock power ballad There's A Place In The World For A Gambler.
The music of Dan Fogelberg is no stranger to Friday Music, as we've been honored to feature many of his compact discs on our label. Therefore, it is with much pleasure to announce the Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of his incredible masterpiece Souvenirs. FM Original SoundtrackAppropriately, the soundtrack for the 1978 movie FM feels like a radio play list of the era, collecting songs from Joe Walsh, Randy Meisner, Boz Scaggs, and other '70s radio staples. Steely Dan's title track, Queen's "We Will Rock You," Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band's "Night Moves," Billy Joel's "Just The Way You Are," and Boston's "More Than a Feeling" are some of the highlights from this double-disc set, which also includes tracks from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Foreigner, and Linda Ronstadt, all of whom also appeared in the film. Though FM itself wasn't exactly a box-office smash, its soundtrack is a surprisingly durable and entertaining collection of classic rock that is arguably better than many of the '70s rock compilations available today.
