 24 Karat Hits
Elvis Presley
$74.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl 45 RPM LP - 3 LPs Sealed
|
There’s a good reason Elvis Presley earned the nickname The King. Arguably the most crucial and undisputably the most identifiable figure in pop history, he released dozens of course-altering singles over the course of his influential career, many of which are scattered on incomplete or inconsistent compilations that cover only a portion of a certain era. But one collection towers above the rest. And this is it. Gathering the singer’s 24 greatest tracks in one place, 24 Karat Hits is the definitive Presley anthology in terms of music, sound, and performance. Spanning 1956 (“Heartbreak Hotel”) through 1969 (“Suspicious Minds”), the 3LP set is mandatory for every music lover--let alone Presley diehards and record collectors. And now, the long-out-of-print audiophile favorite--it was originally assembled to serve Presley’s music in the highest possible fidelity it’s always deserved--sounds better than ever. It’s as if the Fort Knox of music landed on your doorstep. Amazing.

50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong (Elvis' Gold Records Volume 2) was originally released back in 1959. In the two years that Elvis had by then spent in the army, the world of Rock'n'Roll had changed dramatically; Buddy Holly and Richie Valens had died in a plane crash, Little Richard had quit, Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry had fallen from grace and Jimi Hendrix bought his first electric guitar. This album was meant as a pacifier for Elvis' fans in the two year hiatus he would be unable to record any new songs. It worked; after Elvis' return he was more popular than ever, which proved that all his fans had, indeed, been right all along.
This release also contains a number of songs Elvis recorded for his Christmas album and a number of in-demand movie songs, totaling ten extra songs on this Music On Vinyl 180 grams audiophile vinyl!
Track Listing:
1. I Need Your Love Tonight
2. Don't
3. Wear My Ring Around My Neck

In order to comfort all his fans during his forced absence, the record bosses produced an album with a smartly-uniformed Elvis on the cover, smiling widely to let his faithful followers know that hed be back soon. There was a special 1960 calendar on the back of this gatefold jacket, so that his fans could count off the days until his return. What made this a classic is that most of the tracks were the original Sun Records singles and tracks from his RCA EPs- all among his best sides. Which takes us back full circle to the date. What better way is there to celebrate the 50th birthday of rock-n-roll than with this early album by its 'King'?

Mastered by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray from the Original RCA Records Tapes
Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the great depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during the early '50s, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the career of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known.
Elvis had the amazing ability to sing both R&B and country simultaneously. This with the persona and choreography of a Hollywood movie star on stage, the young Elvis Presley was soon touring, and over the year achieved a number of regional hit singles, electrifying audiences into frenzies wherever he performed.
The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out his contract and signed the legend to a long term deal, and his first RCA single "Heartbreak Hotel" forever etched 'The King Of Rock And Roll' trademark to his name. In 1956 after a chart topping debut LP, his second smash #1 album simply called Elvis truly proved once again that his career was unlike any other in music history.
Filled with more energy than a fireball, the Elvis album took off with the Little Richard classic rocker "Rip It Up." Another chart topping single followed with the much revered "Love Me," a song which he would perform well into the '70s. The album also featured more smash hits like the Otis Blackwell/Elvis Presley rocker "Paralyzed," a blues belter Arthur Crudup revisit with Elvis interpretation of "So Glad Youre Mine," and Red Foleys tender ballad about mans best friend "Old Shep." In total, the album showcases twelve important Elvis Presley recordings which have truly stood the test of time.
In honor of the Man, the Music, the Legend, the 'King Of Rock And Roll', Friday Music is very proud and honored to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of the RCA Victor classic Elvis by Elvis Presley. As a first installment in their exciting Elvis Presley 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series, they are very pleased to present this masterwork in all its high fidelity glory.

For this exclusive presentation, Friday Music is also including the first time ever gatefold artwork which includes the groundbreaking original LP cover elements as well as more rare visuals from this historic Elvis era. During the King's artistically unproductive period of military service, no costs or efforts were spared and no consolatory promises of things to come were left unsaid by the management in order to keep Elvis alive and well in the minds of his vast circle of fans. At last the great coup was landed: Elvis Is Back was what everyone was waiting to hear and American radio and television broadcasting stations made a gigantic medial feast of it. With the ink scarcely dry on his demobilization papers, Elvis entered the studio in March 1960 and recorded a whole series of numbers which later became worldwide hits, such as 'Are You Lonesome Tonight' and 'It's Now Or Never.' Released as singles, these tender ballads created a sensation, while the LP with numbers such as 'Dirty, Dirty Feeling,' 'Like A Baby' and 'The Thrill Of Your Love' underlined Elvis' enhanced qualities as a rock, blues and gospel singer. That his voice - despite everyone's fears - had lost nothing of its erotic thrill is more than amply demonstrated in his rendering of 'Fever' alone, which is accompanied merely by bass and percussion.

The ultra-hyped, hugely celebrated return of the King most certainly did not disappoint. During his military service, Elvis fans waited anxiously for new material. Record label executives worried about whether he'd still be able to crank out the hits. Radio stations were dying for something new for their most requested playlist. It all combined to mount tremendous pressure on Elvis and all involved to deliver something that lived up to expectations. As it turned out, it was worthy of a giant yellow exclamation point on the front cover! Almost immediately after his service time had ended, Elvis entered the studio in March 1960 to record a batch of songs that would go on to become monumental worldwide hits. The singles Are You Lonesome Tonight and It's Now Or Never created a tidal wave of excitement. And the LP tracks like Fever, The Thrill Of Your Love, Dirty, Dirty Feeling and Like A Baby confirmed that the King was still able to deliver a whole program worth of incomparable material. Listen to Fever at 45 RPM if you want to show someone what this hobby of yours is all about. Just vocals, bass and finger-snapping, it sounds so dark and haunting. It's worth the price of admission for just this one track alone.
Mastered By George Marino at Sterling Sound.

Along with A Date With Elvis, For LP Fans Only is one of the most important special productions of the young King of Rock 'n' Roll. Because Elvis had been conscripted into the US Army, no new recordings could take place, and so record producers delved deep into the sound archives and dug out a few singles from his Sun Records days, mixed them with a couple of early RCA songs and a number from the Love Me Tender soundtrack, and, presto! a new Elvis LP was born. The overwhelming success of this album is not solely confined to the stylistic homogeneity of this collection of fresh, youthful songs. Far more, it's because for many fans the record offered the only substitution for the highly coveted but rare original singles That's All Right, Mystery Train and My Baby Left Me.

'From Elvis in Memphis' is the thirty-fifth album by Elvis Presley originally released in 1969.
The recording of the album marked the definite return of Presley to non-soundtrack albums, after finishing his movie contract with Paramount pictures.
Motivated by his early influences in country, rhythm and blues, and the latest music trend in Memphis being gospel and soul, Presley chose to record these songs at the Memphis-based American Sound Studio.
Music on Vinyl now rereleases this classic on 180-grams audiophile vinyl.

180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
1958's King Creole was the last film Elvis Presley made before he entered the army and it was also his last black and white picture. The only thing upstaging his acting performance here, which is regarded as one of the best of his career, is the excellent 11-song RCA Victor Records soundtrack which is arguably his best film-related release. In addition to the #1 hit single "Hard Headed Woman," the album features three songs by the legendary songwriting duo Leiber and Stoller including "Trouble," "Steadfast, Loyal and True" and the title track. Reissued here on 180g audiophile vinyl courtesy of Hoodoo Records.

Though it was originally released to capitalize on the cinematic vehicle of the same name, fewer than half of the songs on 'Loving You' were actually included in the film.
Not that anyone cared, of course; this collection of hits ("Teddy Bear"), covers ("Blueberry Hill," "Mean Woman Blues"), and lesser-known treasures ("Party," "I Need You So") topped the charts for 10 weeks running in 1957.
A thoroughly enjoyable document of Presley in his pre-Army prime.

 Loving You

Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the great depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during the early '50s, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known.
Elvis had the unmatchable skill of combining his vocals to resemble both R&B and country.
They quickly bought out his contract and signed the legend to a long term deal, and his first RCA single "Heartbreak Hotel" forever etched “The King Of Rock And Roll” trademark to his name.
In 1957 after two chart topping albums and a bevy of #1 singles, more incredible fame followed as the Loving You movie starring Elvis Presley became a box office smash. The soundtrack album also was a blockbuster as it topped the charts for over two months, making this his third smash #1 album. Loving You truly proved once again that his career was unlike any other in music history.
Filled with more hits than a jukebox, the Loving You album takes off with two smashes in a row, the classic rocker "Mean Woman Blues" and the chart topping single "(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear." More soundtrack treasures follow with the beautiful ballad "Loving You" and the rockin’ "Party," which truly made the album a treasure trove of hits that seem like a Greatest Hits collection. The album also features a nice helping of solid interpretations of Elvis’ own favorites like the Fats Domino classic "Blueberry Hill" and the timeless Cole Porter hit "True Love." In total, the album showcases twelve important Elvis Presley recordings which have truly gone on to become international classics.
In honor of the man, the music, the legend, the King Of Rock And Roll, Friday Music is very proud and honored to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of the RCA Victor classic Loving You by Elvis Presley. As a second installment in their exciting Elvis Presley 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series, they are very pleased to present this masterwork in all its high fidelity glory. The Sun Singles Collection
Elvis Presley
$29.99
Vinyl 7" 45RPM Single - 5 Singles Sealed
|
The Sun Singles Collection features reproductions of Elvis Presley's five highly sought after Sun Records singles on limited edition colored 7" 45RPM vinyl including: "That's All Right Mama"/"Blue Moon of Kentucky"; "I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine"/"Good Rockin' Tonight"; "Milkcow Blues Boogie"/"You're A Heartbreaker"; "I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone"/"Baby Let's Play House"; "Mystery Train"/"I Forgot Remember To Forget." These songs were all recorded with Sam Phillips at Sun Records and released between 1954 and 1955.
"Elvis' five Sun singles pioneered the blend of R&B and C&W that would characterize rockabilly music. For quite a few scholars, they remain not only Elvis' best singles, but the best rock & roll ever recorded. Claiming that Elvis made blues acceptable for the white market is not the whole picture; the singles usually teamed blues covers with country and pop ones, all made into rock & roll (at this point a term that barely existed) with the pulsing beat, slap-back echo, and Elvis' soaring, frenetic vocals. "That's All Right Mama," "Blue Moon of Kentucky," "Good Rockin' Tonight," "Baby Let's Play House," and "Mystery Train" remain core early rock classics.
The singles sold well in the Memphis area immediately, and by 1955 were starting to sell well to country audiences throughout the South. Presley hit the road with a stage show that grew ever wilder and more provocative, Elvis' swiveling hips causing enormous controversy. The move to all-out rock was hastened by the addition of drums. The last Sun single, "I Forgot to Remember Forget"/"Mystery Train," hit #1 on the national country charts in late 1955. Presley was obviously a performer with superstar potential, attracting the interest of bigger labels and Colonel Tom Parker, who became Elvis' manager. In need of capital to expand the Sun label, Sam Phillips sold Presley's contract to RCA in late 1955 for $35,000; a bargain, when viewed in hindsight, but an astronomical sum at the time." - All Music

Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977), often known simply as Elvis and also called "The King of Rock 'n' Roll" or simply "The King", was an American singer, musician and actor. He remains a pop icon and is regarded by some to be the most important, original entertainer of the last fifty years. Presley is one of the most talked about and written about performers of the 20th Century.
He was first billed as "The Hilbilly Cat". His combination of country music with bluesy vocals and a strong back beat marked a clear path toward rock & roll. He was the most commercially successful singer of rock and roll, but he also had success with ballads, country, gospel, blues, pop, folk and even semi-operatic and jazz standards.
He is an icon of modern American pop culture. In the late 1960s, Presley re-emerged as a live performer of old and new hit songs, both on tour and in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was known for his on-stage highly energetic performances both vocally and physically, his sartorial jump-suits and capes adding to the drama. He attracted massive attendance figures. His concert performances were staggering in quantity, considering they numbered 1,145 in 8 years, 1969-1977. He continued to perform before sell-out audiences around the U.S. until his death in 1977. His death from a drug overdose at 42 followed alarming concerns about his health. Much confusion, conflict, contradictions, and general controversy still surrounds his death. Regardless, his popularity as a singer has survived his death.
