180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Originally released in 1992, Nirvana's Incesticide consists of demos, outtakes, and radio broadcast recordings from 1988 to 1991. Though the album was not heavily promoted, it's success is a testament to its ensuring appeal, as it climbed to #39 on the Billboard 200 and sold 500,000 copies in only a couple of months. The set functions as a window into the trio's influences and core sound, and is anchored by several songs that originally comprised the sought-after Japanese-only EP Hormoaning.
Spanning Nirvana's early singles ("Dive" and B-sides such as "Stain"), scintillating covers (the Vaselines' "Molly's Lips" and "Son of a Gun"), and formative original material ("Mexican Seafood," "Hairspray Queen"), Incesticide runs the gamut from sing-a-long pop to noisy sludge, and covers all the bases in between.

Ranked #1 in Kerrang magazine's 100 Gigs That Shook The World and voted as Nirvana's #1 Greatest Moment by fans in an NME poll, Nirvana's historic August 30, 1992 headlining appearance at the UK's Reading Festival is one of the most bootlegged concerts in the annals of rock 'n' roll. Now, fans finally can own a pristine copy of that entire performance complete with remastered audio.
While the show's centerpiece was a performance of nearly the entire Nevermind tracklist, also noteworthy were early performances of three as yet unrecorded songs which wouldn't be released until a year later on In Utero: All Apologies,Dumb, and, in its first ever public performance, Tourette's. The career-spanning set list also reached back to the band's 1989 Sub Pop debut album, Bleach, for Blew,About A Girl, School, Negative Creep, and the band's first single Love Buzz, and even further back for Spank Thru.
Other songs from the Reading set would appear in studio form on the Incesticide compilation later in the year: Aneurysm, Been A Son and Sliver. Additionally, the band played a pair of beloved covers by two bands that helped shape the formative Nirvana sound: The Money Will Roll Right In by Fang and by The Wipers.

 MTV Unplugged In New York
Nirvana
$29.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 311/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Recorded in November 1993, less than six months before singer Kurt Cobain killed himself, Nirvanas MTV Unplugged is a watershed document that presents a band at the peak of its powers. Unlike any other unplugged affair, the diverse album is not a simple stripped-down regurgitation of greatest hits or a cash-it-in set of nostalgic favorites. Rather, the live effort is among the most emotionally naked spectacles ever released an album so starkly intense and profoundly personal, its impossible not to get chills down the spine.
Made primarily with acoustic instrumentsGrohl even trades sticks for brushes, Krist Novoselic picks up an accordion, and cellist Lori Goldston prominently figures in the arrangementsUnplugged in New York reveals Nirvanas folksier side and clear ambition to move beyond abrasive rock. The setlist is as surprising as the stylistic makeover. Save for renditions of All Apologies and Come As You Are, the adventurous material includes brooding covers of the Meat Puppets' Lake of Fire, Plateau, and Oh Me as well as harrowing versions of David Bowies The Man Who Sold the World, and the Vaselines Jesus Dont Want Me for a Sunbeam.
And then there's the heart-shattering climax. Intensely private and disturbingly primal, Nirvana's rendition of the Leadbelly standard Where Did You Sleep Last Night takes its place among the most cathartic songs ever committed to record. Its the musical equivalent of the insides of Cobain's soul being ripped out and put out display for all to see.
Hurry! Do not pass up this chance to own the Nirvana swan song that Rolling Stone named one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time!

Ranked 17/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Released in September of 1991, Nirvana's sophomore album and major label debut elevated Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl from a critically acclaimed Aberdeen, Washington, cult band to generational spokesmen who'd unwittingly created a cultural shift and musical touchstone. Rising to #1 the world over by year's end and ultimately selling over 30 million copies worldwide, Nevermind would come to be much more than one of the most successful and influential albums of its or any era. As the album that returned unaffected rock n roll integrity and passion to the top of the charts, Nevermind would prove a singular inspiration to fans and musicians alike over the last two decades, and will undoubtedly do so for generations to come.
Now, on the occasion of Nevermind's 20th Anniversary, Universal Music presents a full spectrum re-release worthy of such a pivotal classic. Nirvana was a popular American rock band originating from Aberdeen, Washington. With the lead single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from their 1991 album Nevermind, Nirvana exploded into the mainstream, bringing along with it a subgenre of alternative rock called grunge. Other Seattle grunge bands such as Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden also gained in popularity, and, as a result, alternative rock became a dominant genre on radio and music television in the United States during the early-to-middle 1990s.
As Nirvana's frontman, Kurt Cobain found himself referred to in the media as the "spokesman of a generation", with Nirvana the "flagship band" of "Generation X". Cobain was uncomfortable with the attention and placed his focus on the band's music, challenging the band's audience with their third studio album In Utero. While Nirvana's mainstream popularity waned somewhat in the months following its release, their core audience cherished the band's dark interior, particularly after their 1993 performance on MTV Unplugged.
Nirvana's brief run ended with the death of Cobain in 1994, but the band's popularity expanded in the years that followed. Eight years after Cobain's death, "You Know You're Right", an unfinished demo that the band recorded two months prior to Cobain's death, topped radio playlists around the world. Since their debut, the band has sold more than sixty million albums worldwide (see also Best selling music artists), including more than ten million copies of Nevermind in the US alone. Nirvana remains a consistent presence on radio stations worldwide.
