 Jagged Time Lapse
John's Children
$21.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed

Import
The band that was louder than the Who, John's Children became one of the earliest examples of psychedelic flower power. Jagged Time Lapse finds the one and only Marc Bolan (T.Rex) at his loudest and the album features everything you could ask for from one of Britains most rambunctious bands. In fact, the band's stage show, which included band members fighting each other and Bolan whipping the stage with a chain, was a huge influence on punk rock. Includes band favorites such as: Desdemona (which was banned by the BBC due to its controversial lyrics), Midsummer Nights Scene and Go-Go Girl. Also features a bonus track cover of The Beatles Help.

 Quest For Fire
Quest For Fire
$16.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
You would think that playing in bands for a decade, and touring constantly might instill the desire to make your new project a lucrative one. This however, hasn't crossed the minds of the four members of Toronto's Quest For Fire. The sonic assault that these guys unleash onto unsuspecting listeners in a live setting through their sometimes 10+ minute journey is pure power, a contemporary take on classic rock and psychedelia. The band, made up of Andrew Moszynski (guitar), Chad Ross (guitar, vocals), Mike Maxymuik (drums) and Josh Bauman (bass), spent a little over a year holed up in a tiny practice space near Toronto's lakeshore refining their vision and obsessing over their common love of all things strange.
Upon the inevitable demise of Canada's most beloved garage rock underdogs, The Deadly Snakes (In the Red Records), of which Andrew and Chad were core members, Quest For Fire began to prepare for their great unveiling before Toronto's wary rock scene. On a hot August night in 2007 the band made their first appearance at The Boat, one of Toronto's most cherished dive bars. They quickly became the city's most sought-after new band. Show offers came flooding in to open for acts such as Black Mountain, Ladyhawk, Mudhoney, Earthless, Howlin Rain and Witch. As their old bands burned out, QFF took off. The Deadly Snakes faded within time and MikeÆs tenure with Canadian metal/hardcore heads Cursed came to an abrupt end. One year after the release of their debut album, QFF is stoked to announce that they have been picked up by New York's Tee Pee Records.

2. Strange Waves
3. The Hawk That Hunts The Walking

 Heavy Psych
Nebula
$16.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Los Angeles based trio Nebula is comprised of Eddie Glass (guitar/vocals), English geezer Tom Davies (bass/vocals) and Rob Oswald (drums). And it all started when Eddie and friend Neil Blender were making weird 4-track music for skate movies like Alien Workshops' first video. He then went on to drum for Olivelawn and later on played guitar with Fu Manchu, writing some of the songs and playing lead guitar on the first three albums. In 1997 Eddie decided it was time to use the whole arsenal; guitars, drums, Moogs, sitars, the Jug and formed Nebula. Tom crossed the pond in the summer of 2004 to join the Nebula ranks and with the recent addition in early 2007 of Rob (Karma To Burn/Mondo Generator), Nebula are re-igniting the fires started in '97. The band has come full circle by returning to Tee Pee Records to release their new album Heavy Psych, which exhibits an inebriating wonder world of inherent ingenuity.

 The Legend Of God's Gun
Spindrift
$16.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
The mists of Spindrift began casting their hypnotic haze upon the eastern shores of the US in 1992. For the next decade, the captain of the mothership, singer/songwriter/guitar-slinger, Kirpatrick Thomas (a.k.a. KP), sailed the sonic sea, letting the music carry him and his band to faraway places to perform for audiences around the world. Eight records later, Kirpatrick felt the undeniable pull of the west and ventured into the sunset in search of a new world.
Spindrift west would be born and a new psychedelic western revival movement would begin. With Spindrift's penchant for creating epic cinematic soundtracks, it comes as no surprise that the band has also embarked on a vision quest of their own, with the creation of the feature film, The Legend of God's Gun. At the heart of the artfully shot independent feature film directed by Mike Bruce, which was inspired by '60s era spaghetti western movies, is the psychedelic sounds of Spindrift. Both haunting and hallucinogenic, The Legend of God's Gun soundtrack takes the listener on a cosmic journey through the desert as a preacher-turned-gunslinger sets out for vengeance.
With a guitar in one hand and six-shooter in the other, neo-cosmic cowboy Kirpatrick Thomas and his current band of banditos resurrect the spirits of Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai and combine them with the ghosts of Velvet Underground and Jim Morrison, weaving a dusty backdrop to a story of sin and salvation in the wild wild west.

 Incense And Peppermint
The Strawberry Alarm Clock
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
The Strawberry Alarm Clock made musical history with its first single, the infectious, psychedelic Incense and Peppermints, which topped the national singles charts in December of 1967 and remains one of the Aquarian Age's most enduring anthems. As the California combo's debut LP demonstrates, there was a lot more to the Strawberry Alarm Clock than their iconic trademark hit.
Incense and Peppermints combines catchy melodic flights with an edgy progressive sensibility that minifests itself in the trippy soundscapes, sophisticated harmonies and evocative lyrics of such memorable tracks as The World's on Fire, Birds in My Tree, Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow and Paxton's Back Street Carvinal.
Unavailable in its original LP format for decades, Incense and Peppermints has been meticulously restored to its original glory for this LP reissue, using Sundazed's exacting technical and aesthetic standards. The album is pressed on high-quality, high-definition vinyl, and features a complete reproduction of the album's unique original cover art.

Featuring The Human Host And The Heavy Metal Kids
One of the most sought-after of all '60s cult LPs, 1967's Hapshash and the Coloured Coat Featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids is the sort of record that could only have emerged during the psychedelic era, and a vibrant manifestation of that period's freewheeling boundary-breaking spirit of adventure.
Hapshash and the Coloured Coat, the English duo of Michael English and Nigel Weymouth, initially achieved notoriety as a graphic design team whose distinctive visual sensibility placed them at the center of London's original psychedelic explosion. The pair's vivid visual imagination spawned numerous album covers, including Cream's Disraeli Gears, and countless posters promoting performances at London's legendary UFO Club by such acts as Pink Floyd and the Incredible String Band. Those visual works brilliantly captured the London scene's buoyant, mind-expanding vibe, and feature some of the psychedelic era's most arresting imagery.
Such was Hapshash & the Coloured Coat's prominence and influence that, in 1967, they were given the opportunity to branch out as a recording act. For the occasion, English and Weymouth teamed with legendary producer/manager/DJ/scenester Guy Stevens, whose lengthy resume encompasses work with the Rolling Stones, Procol Harum, Mott the Hoople and The Clash.
The result was Hapshash & the Coloured Coat Featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids. The unlikely collaboration produced a one-of-a-kind sonic experience that exemplifies the spirit of psychedelia while sounding like no other record of its time, mixing primal vocal chants and insistent tribal rhythms with proto-funk guitar and bluesy piano on such memorably titled tracks as H-O-P-P Why?, The New Messiah Coming 1985, Empires of the Sun and A Mind Blown Is a Mind Shown.
Out of print on vinyl for decades and never before reissued domestically, Hapshash & the Coloured Coat featuring the Human Host & the Heavy Metal Kids has been meticulously restored for this LP reissue, using Sundazed's usual exacting standards. The album is pressed on high-quality audiophile vinyl, and features complete original cover art.

 Fever Tree
Fever Tree
$18.99
Vinyl LP Reissue - Sealed

Fever Tree's lone hit single, the haunting 1968 tribal anthem San Francisco Girls (Return of the Native), perfectly captured the spirit of the psychedelic era. Although their signature hit led many to assume that they were a Bay Area band, Fever Tree actually hailed from Houston, Texas. San Francisco Girls quickly emerged as a staple of American underground Fm radio, and won the band an international audience after becoming an airplay favorite of influential British DJ John Peel.
San Francisco Girls is also the centerpiece of Fever Tree's self-titled first LP, one of the period's most distinctive debut efforts. As the album demonstrates, the quintet was adept at incorporating jazz and classical influences, ambitious song structures and resourceful production touches. Such memorable numbers as The Sun Also Rises and Come with Me (Rainsong benefit from Dennis Keller's hypnotic vocals, Michael Knust's dynamic guitar work and Rob Landes' inventive keyboard textures. Also included is a memorable medley of the Beatles' Day Tripper and We Can Work It Out, and a unique interpretation of the Neil Young/Buffalo Springfield nugget Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing. Fever Tree's expansive musical settings also feature key contributions from a pair of noted arrangers: David Angel, renowned for his work of Love's Forever Changes and Gene Page, whose resume includes work with the likes of Phil Spector and Marvin Gaye.
Fever Tree would release three more well-received albums, before disbanding at the dawn of the 1970s. Recent years have seen a resurgence of interest in the band's vintage work, and this one-of-a-kind debut album remains a deeply compelling sonic artifact.
The vinyl edition of this vintage gem is mastered from the original analog tapes, features complete original cover art and is pressed on high quality, high-definition vinyl, the better to recapture the original magic of this timeless album.

 Heaven Is In Your Mind
Traffic
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed

Traffic was one of the most original and influential British groups of the 1960s, gathering a diverse set of individual talents in vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Steve Winwood, singer/guitarist Dave Mason, drummer Jim Capaldi and reeds player Chris Wood. The foursomes expansive talents and formidable creative chemistry allowed the musicians to integrate an array of folk, jazz, pop and R&B elements, infusing their eclectic stylistic mix with a playfully psychedelic spirit that perfectly captured the experimental sensibility of the times.
Traffics historic 1967 debut LP (produced by noted studio vet Jimmy Miller) was released in the U.K. as Mr. Fantasy, but initially reached U.S. shores in altered form as Heaven Is in Your Mind/Mr. Fantasy. The American edition featured an altered track listing and new cover art with Winwood, Capaldi and Wood but not Mason, who had quit the band prior to the albums release.
The U.S. LP added the British singles Paper Sun, Hole in My Shoe and Smiling Phases to the albums running order, along with a short snippet of the U.K. single Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush as a recurring motif between tracks. The American edition also tacked on the short closing track Were a Fade, You Missed This, which is actually the fadeout of an alternate version of Paper Sun. The American LPs title was quickly amended to Mr. Fantasy, and it was under that name that most stateside fans came to know the album, with the original U.S. edition becoming something of a rarity.
In any form, and under any title, Heaven Is in Your Mind/Mr. Fantasy ranks as one of the most audacious and inventive rock albums of its time. Such catchy tunes as Paper Sun, Hole in My Shoe and Heaven Is in Your Mind combine stylistic adventurousness with effortless melodic appeal, while more introspective numbers like Dear Mr. Fantasy and Coloured Rain capture early stirrings of prog-rock and jazz-fusion.
Sundazeds new vinyl edition of this seminal vintage disc completely restores the albums rare original U.S. cover art. The LP also features the albums incredibly rare mono mix, which differs substantially from the albums more familiar stereo mix. Pressed on pristine high-definition vinyl, Heaven Is in Your Mind/Mr. Fantasy now looks and sounds better than ever.

 Happy Trails (Pure Pleasure)
Quicksilver Messenger Service
$34.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 189/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Without question, this follow-up to Quicksilver Messenger Service's self-titled debut release is the most accurate in portraying the band on vinyl in the same light as the group's critically and enthusiastically acclaimed live performances. The album is essentially centered around the extended reworkings of Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" and "Mona", as well as the lesser lauded — yet no less intense — contribution of Gary Duncan's (guitar/vocals) "Calvary". This album is the last to feature the original quartet incarnation of QMS. The collective efforts of John Cipollina (guitar/vocals), Greg Elmore (percussion), David Freiberg (bass/vocals), and the aforementioned Duncan retain the uncanny ability to perform with a psychedelic looseness of spirit, without becoming boring or in the least bit pretentious. The side-long epic "Who Do You Love?" suite is split into an ensemble introduction and coda as well as four distinct sections for the respective bandmembers.
Musicians:
- John Cipollina (guitar)
- Gary Duncan (guitar, vocals)
- David Freiberg (bass, vocals)
- Greg Elmore (drums, percussion)
About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s – or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Psychedelic-flavored British pop from the mid-to-late '60s, licensed from the Decca label. There are a few fine cuts here: the Accent's 'Red Sky at Night' has long been a collector's favorite for its dark psychedelia, the End's 'Shades of Orange' was produced and co-written by Bill Wyman, and the two Poets' tracks are fetching, acoustic-oriented mod ballads. But much of this is as dated as group names like Tinkerbells Fairydust, or song titles like 'Neville Thumbcatch' and 'Glasshouse Green Splinter Red,' would indicate. It does have the original version of Pete Townshend's 'Magic Bus,' recorded by the Pudding in 1967, over a year before the Who released their rendition. All Music Guide

Blue Cheer
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed

Blue Cheer looms large in the annals of hard rock, laying down the sonic foundations of heavy metal, and serving as a crucial influence on the birth of punk, grunge and stoner rock. While the rest of the rock world was mellowing out and embracing the spirit of the Summer of Love, the seminal San Francisco power trio was churning out ballsy blues-rock anthems whose fuzz-heavy, adrenaline-charged intensity helped to alter the course of contemporary music.
Blue Cheers second album, Outsideinside, fully matches its predecessors primal power. The last Blue Cheer release to feature the beloved lineup of Stephens, Peterson and Whaley, Outsideinside is a bracing orgy of volume, distortion and aggression, with such highlights as Just a Little Bit, Come and Get It, the instrumental Magnolia Caboose Babyfinger and the bands distinctive take on the Rolling Stones Satisfaction. Like its predecessor, Outsideinside has been out of print on vinyl for decades and has long been prized by collectors.

3. Just a Little Bit
4. Gypsy Ball
5. Come and Get It

Vincebus Eruptum, Blue Cheers landmark 1968 debut, is widely regarded as Ground Zero of the heavy metal explosion. The album, featuring the classic Blue Cheer lineup of guitarist Leigh Stephens, bassist/vocalist Dickie Peterson and drummer Paul Whaley, includes the trios mind-melting reading of Eddie Cochrans Summertime Blues, which became a Top 20 single, along with such raw, overdriven originals as Doctor Please and Second Time Around and distinctive reworkings of the blues standards Rock Me Baby and Parchment Farm. Long out of print on vinyl, with original copies trading for steep collectors prices, this legendary debut is available once again in its original format, complete with its unique original cover design.

XTC were well known for expanding into new areas and making sonic leaps, so in the mid '80's when the fancy came over them to make some records that sounded like they had come from 1967, they did just that. As a teen, Andy Partridge had wanted to make psychedelic records just like the ones he was hearing on the radio. Finding themselves with a few weeks on their hands and the services of legendary producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead, The Fall, Posies etc.), they set about the colorful task of working on a big thank you to all the bands who made their school years sound so vibrant. So as Sir John Johns, Lord Cornelius Plum, Red Curtain and E.I.E.I Owen they managed to summon up the spirits of Syd's Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Hollies, Move and a score of other 67 psyche artists so closely that several reviewers have suggested that they bettered the originals. Spacemen 3's second album is a remarkable departure from the band's 1986 debut, Sound Of Confusion. Reduced to a trio (guitarists/keyboardists Pete Sonic Boom Kember, Jason Spaceman Pierce, and bassist Pete Bassman) following the departure of the first album's drummer, Spacemen 3 makes an asset out of the newfound lack of percussion, giving The Perfect Prescription a considerably less rock-oriented sound with much more open space in its varied, subtle arrangements. Reissued on 180g vinyl.

 Live
Moby Grape
$29.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Sundazed Music is proud to present a genuine psychedelic landmark: Live by Moby Grape, the first official collection of concert recordings by the legendary San Francisco band at its blazing late-Sixties peak. At that time, in rock's hippest city, there was no other band like the original Grape: Jerry Miller, Skip Spence, Bob Mosley, Peter Lewis and Don Stevenson. Their Columbia debut LP, Moby Grape, issued in June 1967, is still acclaimed as one of the greatest rock albums evera thrilling union of blues, soul, country, surf twang and day-glo garage rock, packed into original killer-pop songwriting. Even as extreme Columbia hype, devastating business hassles and Spence's tragic mental collapse threatened to blow up the band, the Grape continued to make immortal albums, including 1968's Wow and the magnificent Moby Grape '69.
But the records told only half of the tale. Moby Grape, in their prime, were also one of the Bay Area'sand America'sbest stage bands, like the Beatles and Rolling Stones in one, with a breathtaking triple-guitar attack and stunning vocal harmonies.
Live is the long-awaited proof. It features more than an hour of dynamite performances from soundboard and broadcast tapes, including tracks from the Avalon Ballroom in 1967 and the band's complete long-lost set at the Monterey Pop Festival, just a week after Moby Grape came out. There are live versions of the great rare Grape songs "Rounder" and "Looper" and five tracks from a famous Dutch radio show featuring the hard-charging '69 lineup of Miller, Mosley, Lewis and Stevenson.
And Live climaxes with the historic first-ever release of Spence's acid-guitar masterpiece "Dark Magic"never recorded in the studio by the original band but presented here in an epic 17-minute performance at the Avalon, on New Year's Eve 1966. Moby Grape were the hottest band in town that night, with the whole rock & roll world ahead of them. And they sound like it. These four-decade-old recordings have been spectacularly mastered, in you-are-there fidelity, and this album comes with sumptuous packaging and rare photos, in true Sundazed style, plus liner notes by Rolling Stone writer and Moby Grape authority David Fricke. Live presents, at last, the untold part of Moby Grape's incredible story. It is San Francisco psychedelia at its zenith and the best historical rock release of the year.

1. Ain't No Use (Avalon Ballroom, San Francisco, 1967)

 Creation
The Druids Of Stonehenge
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
The garage-psychedelia explosion of the 1960s produced such a massive wave of incredible music that, four decades later, were still unearthing amazing unsung gems from this remarkable period. Thats the case with Creation, the lone album by the Druids of Stonehenge, which stands as a prime embodiment of the timeless sound and spirit of vintage garage-psych.
The New York-based Druids of Stonehengefrontman Dave Budge, guitarists Carl Hauser and Bill Tracy, bassist Tom Workman and drummer Steve Tindallexemplified both the surly essence of teen garage-punk and the experimental spirit of psychedelia. The band formed in 1965 as a scrappy, R&B-influenced teen combo in the Rolling Stones/Pretty Things mold. (This period is documented on the earlier Sundazed vinyl EP The Druids of Stonehenge.) By 1968, the Druids had embraced psychedelia, relocated to the West Coast and signed with the UNI label.
The Druids of Stonehenge unveiled their retooled sound with Creation, which revealed the quintet to be one of the toughest, most imaginative outfits of its era, maintaining both a forceful, earthy edge and an ethereal air of mystery. Those qualities were manifested in Budges snarling, Jaggeresque vocals and the bands tense, punchy playing, which elevated such memorable originals as Six Feet Down, Earthless and Pale Dream, as well as their distinctive reworkings of Bob Dylans Its All Over Now, Baby Blue, Loves Signed D.C. and Screamin Jay Hawkins I Put a Spell on You.
Despite its obvious quality, Creation was largely lost in the shuffle in its initial release, and the Druids of Stonehenge broke up the following year. In the decades since, the band and the album have gained immensely in stature and prestige among garage-psych aficionados and 60s devotees, with original copies of Creation becoming sought-after collectibles. Now, this legendary cult item is back in circulation on high-definition vinyl, mastered from the original analog tapes and featuring complete original cover art.

Hawkwind are an English rock band, one of the earliest space rock groups. Their lyrics favour urban and science fiction themes. They are also a noted precursor to punk rock and now are considered a link between the hippie and punk cultures. Formed in November 1969 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Brock, Hawkwind have gone through many incarnations and styles of music. Critic Jim Green describes their trademark sound as characterised by "that gargantuan and impenetrable pre-metal/hardcore drone, those great riffs, that inexorable drive to destinations unknown". Dozens of musicians have worked with the group; notable fantasy and science fiction writer Michael Moorcock was an occasional collaborator.

Black Mountain's debut charts territories yet unknown yet remains grounded by the roots of classic rock 'n' roll (Black Sabbath, The Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, Animals-era Pink Floyd, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin, and Can). This full-length is one part protest song, one part pop cultural commentary, and one part sick-groove-rock casserole peppered with mesmerizing ballads and intoxicating ditties. Four of the five members work as social workers in Vancouver, so their art, music, and problems of the real world aren't made distinct from one another here. They're also current or former members of The Pink Mountaintops, Blood Meridian, Jerk With A Bomb, The Black Halos, Dream On Dreary, Sinoia Caves, and Orphan. CD includes a video by Heather Trawick for Druganaut. They'll open for Coldplay in the US this August, followed by headlining dates.

This San Francisco band's sound is a soundtrack for strange days and futures bright and bleak. There's also a crooked thread running backward through each of their records: the celestial trajectories of the Notorious Byrd Brothers and circa '70s Floyd; the dusty canyon stomps of Crazy Horse, the slashing action pop of the savage young Who, Italian bastardizations of Lalo Schifrin cop movie scores, and the scuzz-bomb shrapnel of garage mongers like Mudhoney and Monoshock. Their third release also finds the band speaking their own twisted tongue, marrying hazy Saturday moods, interstellar sonics, and wrecking ball swing to song and harmony in poems for California, lovers, ghosts, the stars, and a world gone mad.

The Soft Machine
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
The first two albums by England's legendary Soft Machine, originally released in 1968 and 1969, remain among the most innovative and influential releases of that musically fertile era. These seminal LPs offered a visionary psychedelic-progressive-jazz-rock mix that helped to make the Soft Machine one of Britain's first significant underground bands, as well as a key force in the birth of both progressive rock and jazz-rock.
A product of the same fabled Canterbury scene that spawned such beloved cult acts as Caravan and Hatfield and the North, the Soft Machine was the rare art-rock combo whose members possessed the instrumental skills to execute their ambitious musical ideas, as well as a playful sense of humor that balanced the band's complex compositions and adventurous improvisations. By the time they began making albums, the Soft Machine was already a sensation in the budding U.K. rock underground, thanks to their now-legendary performances at such fabled London clubs as the UFO, the Speakeasy and Middle Earth, where they shared stages with the likes of Pink Floyd and Tomorrow.
The aptly titled Volume Two introduced a retooled Soft Machine lineup, with Wyatt and Ratledge joined by bassist Hugh Hopper, an old Canterbury friend who had guested on the first album. The sophomore disc finds the threesome moving towards a more explicitly jazz-influenced sound, with an increased emphasis on instrumental material. The album is bookended by a pair of extended compositions, Rivmic Melodies and Esther's Nose Job, which are broken up into shorter individual tracks bearing whimsically arbitrary titles. That approach was suggested to the band by Frank Zappa, whose Mothers of Invention album Absolutely Free was reportedly an influence on Volume Two.
This landmark vinyl gem has been out of print for decades, but now it is back in this meticulously packaged Sundazed edition. Mastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on pristine high-definition vinyl, this lovingly restored vintage gem sounds as powerful and imaginative as ever.

The Soft Machine, co-produced by Chas Chandler and Tom Wilson, announced the band's arrival on the international scene in fine style. With an unusual three-man lineup comprised of Kevin Ayers on bass and vocals, Robert Wyatt on drums and vocals, and Mike Ratledge on keyboards, the album was recorded in New York, while the band was touring North America with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In contrast to the extended pieces that would later dominate the Soft Machine's repertoire, the album focuses on shorter, more concise songs that nonetheless provide plenty of room for the musicians to demonstrate their varied abilities.

Though they come from 21st-century Los Angeles, Entrance look like dead ringers for a band from 1967 Haight-Ashbury. Their mystically tinged psychedelic blues-rock is more Jon Spencer Blues Explosion than Grateful Dead, but the outfit nevertheless offers an entertaining tour through the musical fashions of a bygone era. Singer Guy Blakeslee's cheerfully anarchic vocals on "Grim Reaper Blues" conjure a stoner Doc Boggs, and for good measure there's also the prog-jazz of "Silence of a Crowded Train," the sitar-laden ersatz mysticism of "Requiem for Sandy Bull," and the genuinely haunting, Appalachian-sounding ballad, "Prayer of Death."

AMAZING 180 GRAM 1000 ONLY LIMITED EDITION GATEFOLD VINYL REISSUE OF HAWKWINDS FOURTH ALBUM.
The group's fourth studio album, it was the first by a new line-up that included Simon House on synthesizer, Mellotron and electric violin; absent were Robert Calvert, who had previously contributed lyrics, vocals and spoken word interludes, and Dik Mik, who provided electronic effects. House's addition was generally seen as enhancing the band's musicianship and sense of structure, though perhaps at the expense of the improvisational nature of earlier work. The album's title was a nod to Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and to a Portobello Road cafe called The Mountain Grill (now closed), frequented by the band in the early 1970s. The cover of a derelict spaceship in the mists of an alien lagoon was painted by the band's regular artistic collaborator, Barney Bubbles. The rear cover was by noted space artist David Hardy. The record featured hard rockers like "The Psychedelic Warlords (Disappear in Smoke)" and "Lost Johnny" (subsequently recorded by bassist Lemmy's post-Hawkwind band Motörhead and also by co-writer Mick Farren with his band the The Deviants), psychedelia such as the heavily-phased "D-Rider" and "Web Weaver", as well as quieter atmospheric numbers like the instrumentals "Goat Willow", "Wind of Change" and the title track. Side Two of the original vinyl LP was bookended by "You'd Better Believe It" and "Paradox", live tracks recorded at the Edmonton Sundown in January 1974, that recalled the 'space jams' of earlier releases. In the wake of Robert Calvert's departure, lead vocals for the album were performed by Dave Brock, along with Lemmy on "Lost Johnny" and Nik Turner on "D-Rider". Despite Hawkwind's relative success in the charts at this time, the band's line-up would continue to shift during the year. Del Dettmar left prior to the release of Hall of the Mountain Grill to live in Canada, Alan Powell joined as an additional drummer, and science fiction author and friend of the group, Michael Moorcock, stepped in to read poetry at their concerts.

The bulk of the album is composed of a freeform instrumetal piece that the band named "Sunshine Special" but it was separated into different tracks on this album. On the LP, "Paranoia" ends after the first minute with the music slowing down as though the turntable is stopping, and then picks up as the first cut on Side 2. Lyrics are scant, but those that are present and the song titles are a reference to the drug experience, as the sleeve notes explain: This is the beginning. By now we will be past this album. We started out trying to freak people (trippers), now we are trying to levitate their minds, in a nice way, without acid, and ultimately a completely audio-visual thing. Using a complex of electronics, lights and environmental experiences. The two book-end pieces of "Hurry on Sundown" and "Mirror Of Illusion" are more of a nod to Brock's alternative activity of busking and were released as a single in edited form.

1979's, Can (aka Inner Space), the band's last proper album, was less experimental than its previous releases, with Michael Karoli doing more straightforward vocals and guitar. Having spent the previous decade taking elements of the classical avant-garde (i.e. Karlheinz Stockhausen) and underground rock (i.e Velvet Underground) to create a kind of genre-less new musicand influencing countless bands in the processCan had reached the natural end of its journey. Although founding members Irmin Schmidt (keyboards) and Jaki Liebezeit (drums) can still be heard, Rebop Kwaku Baah and Rosko Gee of Traffic fame have been added to the mix, with former bassist Holger Czukay doing the editing.

Radio Moscow is a psychedelic blues rock trio from Ames, Iowa, led by guitarist/drummer/singer/songwriter Parker Griggs, and this, their self-titled debut album, is produced and engineered by Black Keys guitarist/singer Dan Auerbach. Dan was given a demo by Parker after a Black Keys gig in Colorado, and he liked it so much that he offered to produce their debut album in his own studio in Akron OH. 21-year-old Parker Griggs originally cut his teeth playing garage punk, but his sound is also channeled through the blues, with experimental breakdowns, unpredictable tempo changes, crazy rave-ups and fuzzed out psychedelic guitar work; the result is an exciting and truly distinctive sound. Parker plays all the instruments on the album except for bass and slide guitar on "Deep Blue Sea" which is played by Dan Auerbach.

On 'Brain Cycles,' he once again plays all the instruments (guitar, drums, and percussion) and assumes vocal duties as well as production credits, while the bass guitar is in the hands of young Zach Anderson.
Conceived as an homage to the thrilling days of yesteryear, when vinyl was king and analog stereo ruled the world, 'Brain Cycles' is a guilty pleasure best experienced at maximum volume while wearing headphones, if you want your brain to catch the waves! Extensive liner notes
'Zabriskie Point' is a soundtrack album to the Michelangelo Antonioni film of the same name released in January 1970. This re-release includes four bonus tracks each from Jerry Garcia and Pink Floyd that were used in the film, but not on the original soundtrack.
The soundtrack is a remarkable mélange of abstract sound sculpture, expansive solo-guitar reveries, full-blown psychedelic rock, old-time country ballads, and 1950s jukebox corn. Pink Floyd's contributions to the album were recorded after their release of 'Ummagumma'. The liquid grace of the band's melodic ideas and performances are a revelatory preview of the lush, refined soundscape on the next two Floyd LPs, 'Atom Heart Mother' and 'Meddle'.
There is also more than half an hour of previously unheard, solo Jerry Garcia in this collection. In these versions of "Love Scene," he is heard utterly alone, playing with a serene confidence and luminous purity that is unlike anything else in his canon.

The Black Angels third album, and first release on Blue Horizon, is the highly anticipated Phosphene Dream which marks a giant leap forward for the band. Produced and mixed by Dave Sardy (Oasis, Wolfmother, Black Mountain) over a period of six months in Los Angeles, the album shows off both sonically and musically a bold new direction for The Black Angels, a fresh take on the neo-psychedelic movement theyve been at the forefront of for years.
While past albums Passover and Directions to See a Ghost were recorded in the bands hometown of Austin, Texas, the process of making Phosphene Dream pulled the band out of their comfort zone and forced them to look at songwriting and recording in a way they never have before. Years of non-stop worldwide touring had turned the band into a tightly wound unit, and those years of work are all on showcase here.

Originally released in 1975, Bundles marked a turning point for the band, not
marked by the fact that this album was the first to have an actual title, instead
of just a number. This would also be the last album to feature the brilliant
keyboard playing of Mike Ratledge, the last surviving member of the original
1963 Wyatt-Allen-Ayers line-up, but whose playing here takes a backburner to
the prominent role played by brand new guitarist (and another ex-Nucleus
member) Allan Holdsworth. Holdsworth's hardworking guitar style breathes
new life into the band after the relatively weary sounding Seven. Although, much of what came after Fourth has been
dismissed as past-prime by many Softs fans 'Bundles is that one bright star on the post-Wyatt horizon, and along with
absolutely brilliant musicianship all around, this is some of the best fusion jazz to be found from that or any other

 The Only Truth
Morley Grey
$28.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Veiled in mystery, enshrined in the psychedelic hall of fame and shielded behind a towering wall of collectors greenbacks, the reputation of Morly Greys 1972 masterwork The Only Truth is beyond dispute. But, accessibility to this Shroud of Hard-Psych Turin has been another matter, impeded by the near- impossibility of obtaining an original pressing and the absolute plethora of shoddy bootlegs.
Quoth the Grey Raven, nevermore. Sundazed has unearthed the original masters, rare single sides, unreleased tracks, and rare graphics, added a detailed history and wrapped them all up in the awesome original artwork for the definitive reissue of The Only Truth. With the veil lifted, fans of fine psychedelia can revel in the majesty of these Alliance, Ohio iconoclasts as they pulverize police corruption on the rocking Peace Officer, run through the gently loping psychedelic groove and stellar riff of You Came to Me, lay it down hard yet easy on Our Time and After Me Again, and find enlightenment with the trippy title track. Everything youve heard about The Only Truth is (pardon the expression) true!

 Little Games (MONO)
The Yardbirds
$18.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl Mono LP - Sealed
|
By the time Jimmy Page joined the Yardbirds in 1966, the group was already firmly established as one of the era's most innovative and creatively adventurous British bands. The addition of Page allowed the band's heady mix of blues and psychedelia to coalesce into an edgy approach that laid the stylistic groundwork for Page's next band, Led Zeppelin (who were known as the New Yardbirds in their early days).
The Yardbirds' 1967 release Little Games - produced by noted British pop guru Mickie Most - is the band's only album to be recorded entirely with Page as a member, and the only one to feature the group's final lineup of Page and founding members Keith Relf, Chris Dreja and Jim McCarty. Little Games is also a transitional effort that find the Yardbirds delving into an array of sounds and styles, from gritty blues-rock ("Drinking Muddy Water") to swirly psychedelia ("Glimpses") to introspective balladry ("Only the Black Rose").
Several of the album's tracks can now be seen as sonic blueprints for Led Zeppelin, e.g. "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor" and "Glimpses," both of which feature the distinctive guitar bowing technique for which Page would soon become famous. Page's acoustic instrumental showcase "White Summer" would later become a frequent feature of Led Zeppelin's live performances. The album also features Page's future Zep band mate John Paul Jones on bass, cello and string arrangements, along with guest appearances by UK session aces Nicky Hopkins and Clem Cattini.
Sundazed Music's LP editions of Little Games have been sourced from the original UK mono masters. The LP version is pressed on 180 gram vinyl and meticulously reproduces the album's distinctive original cover art.

 Transmalinnia

Three years after their self-released EP Lumerians are ready to unleash their debut full length Transmalinnia, an immersive odyssey beyond the five senses. Inspired by the transcendental visions of artist and poet Eugene Von Bruenchenchein, Transmalinnia takes its name from his cosmic finger painting that illuminates the cover. While Transmalinnia's sound palette evokes primitive analog witchery, Lumerians hunger for the future. As sensitive to texture and repetition as an electronic act, the band is propelled by voodoo rhythms, stripped-down organ psych and fuzzed out space disco, traveling freely through worlds both vaguely familiar and largely uncharted.

The Moray Eels Eat The Holy Modal Rounders
Holy Modal Rounders
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Led by maverick folksters Peter Stampfel and Steve Weber, the Holy Modal Rounders were an eye-opening blend of Greenwich Village strum, Kentucky bluegrass and Appalachian drone-topped off with enough mind-altering chemicals to derail the Wabash Cannonball. The Rounders' 1968 masterpiece, The Moray Eels Eat The Holy Modal Rounders, spotlights "The Bird Song," an infectious ditty used in the Easy Rider soundtrack, the squealing majesty of "Werewolf" and drug-addled ramblings like "My Mind Capsized" and "The STP Song" (it wasn't about that slippery engine oil). Sam Shepard, the Rounders drummer (and soon-to-be-acclaimed playwright), even muffs the words to the pledge of allegiance, transporting you to the era as surely as a truncheon to the head at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Here's an exact High-Definition Vinyl repro of the hideously rare original LP - maybe the only "folk" album you'll ever own that will have your mom screaming, "Turn that *&!!@#!! thing down!!"

Our BeatRocket Fresno motherlode is about to yield a world class nugget: the Kings Verses. A 1966 fuzz-drenched combination of early Arthur Lee & Love and the 13th Floor Elevators with Roky lost in a Jimson Weed haze, the Kings Verses would soon play LA's Griffith and Elysian Park Love-Ins, but these never issued recordings find them massively raw and alive, and maybe a little angry at being "stuck in Fresno again."

A fleeting moment of inspired folk rock/psychedelia, recorded at Oberlin College in 1968 by four college students and one local teen. The band was the brainchild of student and guitarist Steve DeTray who had just returned to school after a brief hiatus in Utah, where he was undoubtedly inspired by the whole West Coast psychedelic rock scene. After a year spent playing a mix of covers and original material the boys decide to commit their moment in history to vinyl, recording 24 Hours in two sessions with the help of fellow student David Crosby (not of CSN&Y fame, as is sometimes claimed). The original pressing was just 300 copies that were then sold mainly to friends and local fans, and soon became one of those rare collectibles from which several low-quality bootlegs were made.

One of the bands that helped build the great Austin, TX music scene (the "live music capital of the world"), Demian was actually Bubble Puppy with a new name and sound. While Bubble Puppy was classic psychedelia, Demian was hard rock in the vein of bands like Atomic Rooster.
Recorded live-in-studio at L.A.'s legendary Record Plant studio in 1970, Demian was also one of the first bands to feature dueling lead guitars. Despite the high quality of the songs and the local buzz this album generated at the time, due to mismanagement, Demian soon faded into the record collecting beyond.

 Dead Man
Josefus
$24.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Formed in 1969, Josefus soon garnered a huge live following, opening for acts like ZZ Top and Grand Funk Railroad. Unfortunately, their debut album, a heavy mix of Zeppelin-inspired acid rock with a Southern twist, was destined to obscurity, due largely to the fact that it was not released on a proper label (the band actually paid to have the album pressed and released on their own "Hookah" label).
Just a few months prior to recording Dead Man, however, Josefus had actually recorded an album's worth of material for a producer in Phoenix, but the album was never released. This is what prompted the band to go back into the studio with their own money to record Dead Man. Dead Man was, therefore, a mix of some of the songs from this earlier album along with some new ones. Only three tracks from Get Off My Case did not make it onto Dead Man; ("Get Off My Case," "A Social Song" and "Fealin' Good"), but these have been restored here as bonus tracks.

 Psychedelic Lollipop
Blues Magoos
$18.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
The Blues Magoos launched their recording career with a major smash, hitting the Top Five with the brash garage-punk anthem "(We Ain't Got) Nothin' Yet." That tune is just one of the multiple pleasures of Psychedelic Lollipop, notable as one of the first albums (along with the 13th Floor Elevators' debut) to use the word "psychedelic" in its title. The band balances swaggering proto-punk attitude, a Beatlesque pop sensibility and adventurous acid-pop experimentalism on such tunes as "Gotta Get Away," "One by One" and "Love Seems Doomed." And the Magoos' high-energy workouts on James Brown's "I'll Go Crazy" and John Loudermilk's "Tobacco Road" rank with the greatest versions of those much-covered garage-band standards.
This 60s garage-psych nugget is now available from Sundazed on High Definition Vinyl, sourced from the original Mercury-label stereo masters, with the colorful original cover art meticulously reproduced.
In their '60s heyday, the Blues Magoos were one of the first garage-punk bands to achieve mainstream success, and one of the first to embrace psychedelia. Early in their existence, the Bronx-bred quintet's high-energy live sets made them a popular attraction on the Greenwich Village club scene. Once they began making records, they quickly emerged as one of one of the earliest and most inventive exponents of the psychedelic sound. The band's 1966 debut album Psychedelic Lollipop and its 1967 followup Electric Comic Book, are two of that period's most beloved and enduring albums.
Track Listing:

4. Queen of My Nights
5. Ill Go Crazy

The Blues Magoos launched their recording career with the LP Psychedelic Lollipop. The equally impressive Electric Comic Book refines the band's mix of rock 'n' roll and day-glo psychedelia. The Curious Mystery stitch together 60s-styled psychedlia with smoky garage guitars, Eastern drones, and dynamic, post-soul experimentation; a new gospel. 2009s Rotting Slowly was a true debut album: a journey into new landscapes, charting the depths of canyons. We Creeling was recorded in 2010 by Karl Blau and features the vocal/guitar tandem of Shana Cleveland and Nicolas Gonzalez. Since releasing Rotting Slowly and completing two US tours, The Curious Mystery have expanded the seating capacity of their dinner table to include other weary travelers on this recording: Blau adding percussion, Bradford Button on bass, Gabriel Will (The Hive Dwellers) on violin, Andrew Dorsett (LAKE) on piano and Kristian Garrard (Thousands) on drums.

 Passover
Black Angels
$24.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
These are fighting times, people. We are surrounded by grit, spit, and bloody war, but in the distance moving forward is The Black Angels. Passover, The Black Angels debut album, speaks of real-life horrors, death, and destruction with doses of love, sex, and healing. Dont lose track, these are caring times as well.
Formed in 2004 and hailing from the mescaline-infused outskirts of Austin, Texas, this gang of musical misfits has been on the road non-stop since their birth, performing at such renowned venues as Sin-e, Middle East, and Spaceland. In early 2006, the bands self-titled debut EP was dubbed highly recommended in Spin Magazine while receiving heavy radio airplay on such influential stations as KEXP and BBC Radio 1 by Zane Lowe.
Growing in spades since their EP, Passover showcases a band on the make. Spiraling upwards to the skies with the enemy straight on their trail, The Sniper At The Gates Of Heaven sees The Black Angels reaching high and stretching out with trance-inducing guitar lines from Christian Bland, Nate Ryans filthy medical dumpster bass, and the grizzly preacher vox of lead shaman Alex Maas. Black Grease is a bluesy monster full of swagger propelled by the primitive beat of drummer Stephanie Bailey and the mourning drone of organist Jennifer Raines.
10-songs deep, Passover has come again. Reflecting and questioning the intergenerational psychosis of American social life that surrounds us, The Black Angels put forth their answers in song. Its a Call To Arms for those ready to join the good fight, a rock n roll salvation during the times we need it the most. As Maas bellows on Young Man Dead, Fire for the hills, pick up speed, and lets go

First Official Reissue!
Mastered from the Original Tapes
Co-produced by Motown Guitar God Dennis Coffey & Mike Theodore
Featuring Members of the Legendary Motown Players The Funk Bros.
Limited Edition Vinyl LP on 180 Gram Wax
Its one of the lost classics of the 60s, a psychedelic masterpiece drenched in colour and inspired by life, love, poverty, rebellion. The album is Cold Fact, and whats more intriguing is that its maker a shadowy figure known as Rodriguez was, for many years, lost too. A decade ago, he was rediscovered working as a menial day laborer in Detroit, Michigan. He was unaware that his defining album had become not only a cult classic, but for the people of South Africa, a beacon of revolution.
Rodriguez recorded Cold Fact his debut album in 1969, and released it in March 1970. Its crushingly good stuff, filled with tales of bad drugs, lost love, and itchy-footed songs about life in late 60s inner-city America. Gun sales are soaring/Housewives find life boring/Divorce the only answer/Smoking causes cancer, says the Dylan-esque
Establishment Blues.
But the album sank without trace, thanks, in part, to some of Rodriguezs more idiosyncratic behavior, like performing at an industry showcase with his back to the audience throughout. When the follow-up, 1972s Coming From Reality, also sold poorly, Rodriguez called an end to his recording career. Hed never even played a proper gig. And he got on with life. Over the years, he turned his hand to local politics, gaining a degree in philosophy, factory work and eventually, hard labour.
As his music career became a memory, Rodriguezs legend was growing on the other side of the world. In South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, Cold Fact had become a major word of mouth success, particularly among young people in the South African armed forces, who identified with its counter-cultural bent. But Rodriguez was an enigma not even the label knew where to find him and his demise became the subject of debate and conjecture. Some rumours said hed died of a drug overdose or burned to death on stage. Others said he was in a mental institution, or in prison for murdering his girlfriend. Barring a couple of sold out Australian tours in 1979 and 1981, nothing had been heard of him for almost 30 years.
But the tide began to turn in 1996, when journalist Craig Bartholemew set out to get to the bottom of the mystery. After many dead ends, he found Rodriguez alive, well, free and perfectly sane in Detroit, ending years of speculation. Rodriguez himself had no idea about his fame in South Africa (the album had gone multi-platinum, Rodriguez has received not so much as a Rand in royalties), and embarked on a triumphant South African tour followed, filling 5,000 capacity venues across the country. A documentary named Dead Men Dont Tour: Rodriguez in South Africa 1998 was screened on national TV.
Rodriguez is spoken of in the same reverent tones as The Doors, Love and Jimi Hendrix.

Formed in Memphis in 1968 by blues guitar legend Lee Baker. Upon hearing Baker play, Jimmy Page is said to have commented, "that's the best white bluesman I ever heard!" Produced, written and arranged by Don Nix (Mar-Keys and Paris Pilot) at Memphis' Ardent Studios, Moloch's 1970 debut album is an excellent mix of hard blues and acid rock, with amazing guitar solos by Baker. It was also the first time the song "Goin' Down" appeared on record (famously covered by Jeff Beck).
Although Moloch definitely had the chops to make it big (apparently Freddie King covered a few of the band's songs and would hang out and jam with Baker when ever he was in town), they lacked distribution.

Wee Tam and The Big Huge were originally released in 1968 as both a double LP in the UK, and individually as two separate albums in the US. They mark a creative high point for the band that is only matched by their other 1968 masterpiece, The Hangmans Beautiful Daughter.
Produced, as always, by the legendary Joe Boyd, these albums feature some of the bands best, and most accessible song writing. While Hangmans and The 5000 Spirits may have been considered more revolutionary at the time, Wee Tam and The Big Huge have aged considerably better and many considered them to be the bands finest work. Reissued here in their original US form as individual LPs on 180g vinyl with a deluxe tip-on jacket.

One of the great lost albums of British psychedelia, original copies of Arzachel's 1969 self-titled debut fetch huge sums on the collectors' market and it is not difficult to understand why. Originally released in 1969 on the small Evolution label, this album quite simply contains some of the best psych to ever come out of the U.K.
However, like so many other great albums of the era, it soon dropped entirely off the radar due to bad promotion. In fact, it may not have ever been rediscovered at all if guitarist Steve Hillage and keyboardist Dave Stewart had not gone on to be so well known. Hillage would soon become famous for his work in Gong, and Stewart would become a legend of British prog with Egg, Hatfield and the North, National Health, and his work with wife Barbara Gaskin in the 1980s.

With spellbinding, atmospheric songs which spin from soft dreamscapes into blistering fuzz guitar breaks, Gandalf casts a powerful spell. Led by singer/guitarist Peter Sando, the group was signed by Lovin Spoonful producers Charlie Koppelman and Don Rubin and conjured their sole, self-titled album for Capitol in late 1967. One of the rarest major label psychedelic releases, Gandalf features swirls of Hammond B3 organ, caressing vibraphone runs and electric sitar on Sandos originals as well as imaginative recastings of songs by Tim Hardin, Gary Bonner/Alan Gordon and Eden Ahbez.

Samurai is truly a lost classic of the Progressive era. Released on the short lived Greenwich Gramophone label in 1972, the album was influenced by the experiments of groups such as King Crimson, Gentle Giant et al, but was more than a mere clone of these bands.
Evolving from the equally excellent band Web (whose album I Spider is a classic of the genre), the musicianship on the album was excellent and keyboard player Dave Lawson's compositions were groundbreaking and memorable.
Sadly the group disbanded shortly after the release of the record. However, the influence of the album was not lost as both Dave Lawson and Tony Reeves soon joined Dave Greenslade to form the group Greenslade, effectively taking up the musical mantle laid down by Samurai. Gatefold LP with inside pocket.

Remastered from the Original Tapes After Having Been Unissued for Over Two Decades!
Cherry Red Phonograph is proud to present a fully remastered edition of the classic 1976 album Softs, by one of the most influential exponents of the British underground, Soft Machine. This album was the band's second for the Harvest label and featured a new lineup of Karl Jenkins (piano, synthesizers), John Marshall (drums), Roy Babbington (bass), John Etheridge (guitar), and Alan Wakeman (sax).
Seven of the album's eleven tracks were composed by Jenkins, who had taken over keyboard duties from Mike Ratledge (who makes his last appearance here on "Song Of Aeolus" and "Ban-Ban Caliban"), so the band at this stage was largely a vehicle for Jenkins' own vision. Also, taking Alan Holdsworth's place on guitar is John Etheridge, whose jaw-dropping speed and prowess made it quite obvious that he was no second fiddle.
This is an album of exquisitely executed instrumental jazz fusion that has unfortunately often been overlooked over the years, leaving it unissued on vinyl for over two decades! Remastered from the original tapes and featuring the original artwork.

Not much introduction needed for this magic album. Vinilísssimo proudly presents one of the most important cult albums of the 20th century.
I wanted it to be a whole thing that people would listen to all the way through with everything related and balanced, the tempos and moods off-setting each other, and I hope thats what it sounds like, Syd Barrett, 1971.
Listening to the long-player four decades on, theres no doubt that, for all of its fractured fragility, it does indeed possess a unified quality.
In fact, The Madcap Laughs is an immersive experience, dragging the listener into a world of tangled emotions and battered sound. Hope and fear, joy and dread, loathing and longing, whimsy and reality all of these contrasting sentiments and emotions manifest themselves, animating an album that continues to be felt.

Jersey island's premier heavy metal band Legend should undoubtedly have been one of the more popular acts of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal phenomenon in the early eighties, but bad luck and the nature of music business in general kept them unsigned. After releasing two LPs on their own label Workshop the band called it quits, finally to re-emerge with the turn of the millennium.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Legend the band, Svart Records cordially presents the first official vinyl reissue of the debut album. Originally released in 1981, the LP garnered favorable reviews and has become highly collectable during the years. With heavy, epic songs such as Hiroshima and Song for a Soldier, this album shows a darker side of NWOBHM that substitutes rock'n'roll party attitude with political and personal themes.
The Svart edition comes in a glossy, heavy gatefold jacket that contains all the lyrics plus unseen photos.

 Live 1969
Fever Tree
$18.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
This 1969 live recording from Mount Carmel High School in Houston represents the final stage appearance by the original lineup of Texas garage combo Fever Tree. With two strong studio LPs for UNI Records behind them, the group began to fragment from internal struggles. Consequently, the label asked for one more album. The group complied and the results are contained in this previously unreleased concert recording, presented here in 180 gram vinyl.
Sharpening their chops on the Gulf Coast circuit, followed by a high-profile opening night gig at Hollywoods legendary Kaleidoscope, Fever Tree developed a keen sense of musical drama and dynamics. This versatility is in sharp display on the concerts rendition of their underground radio hit San Francisco Girls (Return of the Native). For the rest, Live 1969 focuses on groovers, a perfect set-up for the gliding fuzztones of lead guitarist Michael Knust, the sonic organ of Rob Landes, the thick rhythms provided by E.E. Bud Wolfe III on bass and John Tuttle on drums ,and the dynamic, driving lead vocals of Dennis Keller.
Dont Come Crying to Me Girl, a song originally found on the bands second album, levitates the band beyond any earthly confines. Elsewhere, the set moves between a soaring cover of Donovans Hey Gyp, their own power pop Grand Candy Young Sweet and a whirlng psych take on Wilson Picketts Ninety-Nine and One Half (Wont Do). Playing as if their lives depended on it, Live 1969 captures a band at the height of its powers, forever preserved on this final audio testament.
Track Listing:
1. Grand Candy Young Sweet
2. Ninety-Nine and One Half (Wont Do)
3. Dont Come Crying to Me Girl
4. Hey Gyp
5. San Francisco Girls (Return of the Native)

When Dyan Hoffman, Rick Bolz, Ron Raschdorf and W.A. Farrens drove 350 miles through the mighty redwood groves down to San Francisco to cut their first album at Leo de Gar Kulka's Golden State Recorders, they couldn't have picked a better time. It was the summer of 1967, now known as the Summer Of Love, and San Francisco was inundated with young people from all over the world, spurred on by a blossoming rock scene that included Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother and the Holding Co. and the Grateful Dead. And yet, none of those legends in the making ever cut an album as hard to find these days, extremely rare and collectible, as this LP by the Neighb'rhood Childr'n.
Not only is their record hideously hard to find, it's amazingly groovy coming from four kids from a rural background. Dyan's voice has the earnest zeal of a young Grace Slick, and the complex arrangements run the table from acid-soaked tripsichord to fiery anthems meant to spur on a new generation of street-fighting men as well as lonely navigators of the mind. Not surprisingly, Dyan reveals that some of this amazing material was inspired by seeing Quicksilver Messenger Service for the first time. "They were always my favorite group," she says. It just goes to show what you can soak up and give back to the world if your heart is in the right place.

New Jerseys Chris Kosnik, Finn Ryan and Bob Pantella first started plotting their musical careers back in the mid 90s, influenced by 70s rock and groups ranging from Black Sabbath to Parliament and Funkadelic. All three members were simultaneously playing for major labels in separate bands: Godspeed (Atlantic), Monster Magnet (A&M) and Core (Atlantic). The Atomic Bitchwax slowly evolved for 15 years as a players band with the enduring vision to "play what you want. Their music is a mix of 60s psychedelic rock and 70s riff rock filtered though the progressive rock influences of today.
Since the bands first self-titled release in 1999 on Tee Pee Records, The Bitchwax have toured every year in North America and Europe, playing in over 15 countries. In that time they have released five more records, including three full lengths (TAB 2, 3 and 4) two EPs (Spit Blood and Boxriff) and a live DVD filmed in Seattle's Sunset Tavern. The Atomic Bitchwaxs music has also appeared in TV shows including Jackass, Home Wrecker and Fox Sports. And 2011 brings the release of their new album The Local Fuzz, boasting one 40 minute track of 50 back to back riffs.

 Gentle Spirit
Jonathan Wilson
$24.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Jonathan Wilsons music is steeped equally in the woodsy contours of his Blue Ridge origins and the atmospheric guitar reveries of Neil Young and Quicksilver Messenger Service. Gentle Spirit, an expansive double set conceived specifically for vinyl, was recorded to analog tape and is remarkably evocative of that golden late 60s, early 70s period when rural and urban sensibilities colluded to produce some of rocks most imperishable recordings.
Gentle Spirit was recorded at his former studio in Laurel Canyon, the location of the very scene Wilson is credited with revitalizing through his personal studio and well-known jam sessions. In addition to making his own music, Wilson is also a producer, engineer and custom guitar-maker.
Whether hes producing young artists like the band Dawes or collaborating with renowned artists like Erykah Badu, Jackson Browne, Robbie Robertson or Elvis Costello, Wilson is as dedicated, visionary and soulful as anyone in music today, qualities that can be heard in the many textures, layers and easy born nuances prevalent throughout Gentle Spirit.

 West (Out of Stock)
Wooden Shjips
$17.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
Temporarily out of stock
|
Wooden Shjips, as it is today, started in 2006. The band self released a 10 and 7 that year and started playing shows shortly thereafter. Prior to 2006, Wooden Shjips was an experiment in primitive and minimalist rock. After it imploded, Ripley Johnson, guitar and vocals, assembled the current lineup of Dusty Jermier on bass, Nash Whalen on organ, and Omar Ahsanuddin on drums. West marks the first time the band recorded in a proper studio, as well as the first time with an engineer (Phil Manley). All previous recordings, either self-released, for Holy Mountain, or Mexican Summer were done more piecemeal in the bands rehearsal studio. West was recorded and mixed in six days at Lucky Cat Studios in San Francisco. It was mastered by Sonic Boom at Blanker Unisinn, Brooklyn, with additional mastering by Heba Kadry at The Lodge in New York.
The over riding theme for the album (as indicated by the title) is the American West, and all of the mythology, romanticism, and idealism that it embodies. The band members grew up on the East Coast, so for a long time the history and literature of the West was an abstraction and a fascination for them. Part of the allure of the West, which is part of the myth, is the concept of Manifest Destiny, the vastness, and the possibilities for reinvention, which is not to say that is what each song is specifically about, but it was very much an undercurrent during the songwriting of the album. The artwork also touches on the same theme by using an iconic structure that is both a gateway in a literal and metaphorical sense.
It is easy to see why these would appeal to Wooden Shjips, as their music lends itself to exploration. It is both transformative and transporting, the sum being far greater than its parts. The steady driving rhythms are the elliptical motion machine driven by the often thick and distorted guitar lines, melodic and boundless. Where they may lead cannot be anticipated but following them is exhilarating. It is all about getting there, the destination, while the experience of getting there is an adventure. It is the guitar lines that guide both the listener and the band on the literal and metaphorical journey into the vastness. The ghostly vocals, obscured by dense layers of instruments surrounding them, are alluring with their airy mystery. This elusive quality further draws the listener in, while they attempt to grasp at their meaning. While indebted to both the psych music of the 60s and mid-70s, electric Neil Young, and even the induced travels of Spacemen 3, the Wooden Shjips music is modern and in every way their own. West is an epic journey to the edge and beyond.

Sacred Bones Records is proud to present Hazed Dream, the new long-player from fellow New Yorkers, Psychic Ills. Since their formation in 2003 as a home-recording experiment, the Ills have evolved into a live band, in their element playing the extended jam. 13th Floor Elevators
$25.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
To fully understand and appreciate a band like the 13th Floor Elevators, one had to see them play live, preferably more than once. The reason being that no two Elevators shows were ever alike, ranging from brilliantly euphoric to unbelievably catastrophic. Of course, the unevenness of their performances was due to one small but powerful thing called LSD which the band took in copious amounts prior to each show.
This collection of live tracks gives those of us who weren't there during those halcyon days of psychedelia, a taste of just what lofty heights (and hellish depths) the Elevators were capable of reaching. The performances are taken from three sources: "Roller Coaster," "You're Gonna Miss Me" and "Tried to Hide" from a rockin' appearance on a local Dallas/Ft. Worth television show in the spring of 1966; "Don't Fall Down," "Kingdom Of Heaven," "She Lives In A Time of Her Own" and "I've Got Levitation" from a notoriously shambolic gig in Houston in 1967; and the remaining eight tracks from a series of stellar performances at San Francisco's Avalon Ballroom in autumn of 1966.

Ozric Tentacles
$29.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed

One of the most influential bands to emerge from the UKs festival scene, the Ozrics layer ambient and ethereal landscapes with freeform dub trips, incredible rave grooves and psychedelic progressive rock. Its an open exploration of music and the soul.
For over 25 years, the Ozrics have experienced the vicissitudes of the rock and roll life. The band has flourished through a number of line-up changes, spawned several side projects (including Eat Static and Nodens Ictus), created their own record label (Dovetail & Stretchy), put out close to 25 albums, scored a hit record and sold over a million albums world-wide. And yet, the basic motivation behind the bands existence has never wavered.
Their signature blend of hippy aesthetics and raver electronics with spiraling guitars, textured waves of keyboard and midi samplers, and supergroovy bass and drum rhythms continues to delight fans across the world to this day.

 Begin
The Millenium
$34.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
The Millennium's Begin can truly be described as a bona fide lost classic.
On Begin, hard rock, breezy ballads, and psychedelia all merge into an absolutely air-tight concept album, easily on the level of other, more widely popular albums from the era such as The Notorious Byrd Brothers.
The songwriting, is sterling and innovative, never straying into the type of psychedelic overindulgence which marred so many records from this era.
At the time the most expensive album Columbia ever produced (and it sounds like it), Begin is an absolute necessity for any fan of late-'60s psychedelia and a wonderful rediscovery that sounds as vital today as it did the day it was released.
Track Listing:
1. Prelude
2. To Claudia On Thursday
3. I Just Want To Be Your Friend
4. 5 a.m.
5. I'm With You

 Groeten Uit Grollo
Cuby & The Blizzards
$39.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Cuby & The Blizzards is relatively unknown to the English-speaking market but none the less the band has been famous in The Netherlands since the mid-'60s.
The early work of Cuby & The Blizzards had a beat/punk orientation but soon they settled into a blues groove.
Before the band recorded their own work they backed Van Morrison in the gap between his departure from Them and the beginning of his solo career.
'Groeten Uit Grollo', Cuby & the Blizzards' second album , with Harry Muskee, Eelco Gelling, Nico Schröder, and Wim Kinds, was recorded with the legendary Dutch artist Herman Brood on keyboard as a replacement for Hans Kinds because he had been drafted.
Harry Muskee, founder and lead singer, sadly passed away in September 2011. 'Groeten Uit Grollo' is still seen as the seminal album by Cuby & The Blizzards, as The Blizzards are seen as one of the most influential Blues bands in Holland.
Muskee has sent us his last greetings, saying in one of his final songs: 'Time is running out, getting older every day.
The only thing that's left for us is hit the road and play.'
Track Listing:
1. Another Day Another Road
2. The Big Bell
3. Somebody Will Know Someday
4. So Many Roads
5. King Of The World
6. Baby Please Don'tGo (Back To New Orleans)

 Wolfmother
Wolfmother
$39.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Considering the 60s psychedelic heavy metal sound which Wolfmother gained fame with in 2006 with their debut album Wolfmother, they could be called a band out of time.
Andrew Stockdale, Chris Ross and Myles Heskett formed the band in 2000 and in 2004 they recorded a four-track demo so they could book shows. From then on the band shifted into a higher gear: a jump to the majors, the release of their eponymous self-titled debut album and a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2007.
Music On Vinyl has given this release the special MOV-treatment resulting in a beautiful gatefold sleeve containing two 180-grams audiophile LPs. First 1,000 copies will be numbered and limited so be quick! With this mind-blowing rock album your stereo doesnt need to go to eleven to get that extra push.
