Misfits is a compilation album of early songs from the American punk rock band the Misfits. The compilation is officially titled Misfits, but is commonly referred to as Collection I and was made up as the first half of a pair with the later release of the compilation album Collection II. It includes several versions of songs that are exclusive to this compilation.
The compilation was well received, with Allmusic saying that for the "benighted," the album is the best place to start. "Everything that made the Misfits great is here... The band is loud and defiant, as is Glenn Danzig, whose considerable vocal chops are well displayed here."

Ever since they rocketed out of Queens in 1974, the Ramones have inspired countless kids worldwide to pick up guitars and rock. The Ramones' follow-up to their astounding self-titled debut showcases a slightly poppier sound but with the same winning results. Originally released in 1977, Leave Home features the classic Ramone's cuts "Pinhead," "Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment" and "Commando."

 Let It Bloom
Black Lips
$14.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed

By the time the Black Lips had released this, their third album Let It Bloom in 2005, the band with members barely in their 20's, had already toured the US and Europe several times, released two albums on Bomp! records, lost a lead guitarist in a car crash, built a rabid cult following and earned a well deserved reputation as one of the wildest live bands around. Let It Bloom, while still skuzzy and raw, contains some of the catchiest and most melodic moments of the Black Lips' career which is the great dichotomy of this band; untamed in an endearing way and musical in just the right places.

Bad Brains is the first full-length studio album recorded by Bad Brains. Adam Yauch of Beastie Boys has been quoted as saying that this album is the best punk/hardcore album of all time. It was originally released on cassette only but has since been re-released by ROIR on both CD and vinyl.
When the album was unveiled in 1982, fans and critics alike were stunned to learn that the musicians behind this album - one of the fastest albums of all time upon its release - were religious African-American Rastafarians who also were skilled at reggae. The album was a crucial step in the formation of hardcore punk and the eventual fusion of hard rock and reggae adopted later by bands like Sublime, Fishbone, and 311.

 Generator
Bad Religion
$15.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Generator knocks about stirringly with a steadfast, mid-tempo punk roar, keeping the songs simple but continually on the upsurge. Brett and Greg Hetson's guitars piggyback to ever-rousing heights, utilizing the essential chords and keeping limits on flashy things like solos or effects, never letting the enthusiasm or sentiment wane. With all players striving to turn each listening experience into a placard-waving melee, Bad Religion emblazons honest, dissatisfied-with-the-status-quo lyrics with an uberpunk spirit, Greg Graffin's vocals growing more gravelly and endearing with each record.
With the implicit understanding that strength lies in brevity, Bad Religion hew mighty exhortations to action out of a well-trampled happy-punk base, and the sheer motivational impact of "Generator," "Only Entertainment," "Atomic Garden" and "No Direction" sweeps clear any charges of oversimplification or sameness. Generator is a brutal noise that is louder, faster & angrier than ever! A plethora of power punching punk pedagogy.

 Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes
Social Distortion
$21.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed

Legendary Punk Rock Band's 1st Studio Record Since 2004
Group Embraces Gritty, Soulful Currents on Can't-Miss Set
Social Distortion's first new studio record in nearly six years, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes builds on singer Mike Ness twin footings, one in the haunted American landscapes of Hank Williams and the other in the raw swagger of Exile On Main Streetâ€era Rolling Stones. While these twin pillars have always been behind Social Distortions anthemic songs, on Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes they come roaring to the fore, in one of the hardest rocking, most soulful albums of Ness career.
From opener California (Hustle and Flow), a song with enough attitude to redline a 40 Merc, to the dark rockin cover of Hank Williams' Alone and Forsaken, longtime fans will find the trademark punk roar they love. New fans, too, will be drawn to Ness maturing songwriting and vocals with an eye to his rock and roll legacy. Ness also produced Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes (his first time at the production helm).
"Cigar-puffing hoodlums, sleazy pimps, staggering winos, down-and-out blue-collar stiffs, on-the-run hustlers, wounded romantics, and spurned lovers are among the crowds that congregate on the street corners of Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, one of the most consistent, complete, soulful, and tunefully gritty records of Social Distortions career. The set reflects the groups progressive embrace of organ into arrangements. As such, subtle spiritual undercurrents coarse through several tunes."

 Proper
Into It. Over It.
$15.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
There's something to be said about cohesiveness in music, most especially in this day and age where the art form of an album that provides the listener with an experience from start to finish is more and more becoming an antiquated concept. Evan Thomas Weiss (aka Into It. Over It.) however, who at 26 years and with his debut full length album Proper, has attained a level of depth in his songwriting not seen by most artists throughout their entire careers.
Having written, recorded and played with an eclectic pedigree of artists such as Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start, The Progress, and Stay Ahead of the Weather, IIOI's culmination of experiences with said bands have stylistically fused together for the grand effort that is Weiss debut LP. The album's release will mark a four year commemoration of his 52 Weeks project (where from September 2007 to September 2008 he wrote and recorded one track each week for a year, making them available online before being approached by No Sleep Records who released them as a 2xCD in June of 2009), as well as his Twelve Towns 7" series/collection which featured recordings with artists such as Bob Nanna (Braid/Hey Mercedes), CSTVT, Everyone Everywhere, Pswingset, Empire! Empire!, and Such Gold, recently compiled for release on Topshelf Records. The new album also follows Weiss 2010 split release with friend Andrew KOJI Shiraki, named one of the years best overlooked releases by The Associated Press.
The lyrical concepts of Proper and it's all around aura stems from autobiographical and literal exemplifications which have taken place over the past year of Weiss' life, most of which occurring in Chicago where he now resides. The album culminates in a heady yet straightforward melodic stew resembling Sunny Day Real Estate, Death Cab For Cutie and Dismemberment Plan to name a few, along with impassioned songwriting executed with the potency and ardor of Chuck Regan and Colin Meloy . While not labeled as a concept album per se, the stories which form the basis of Into It. Over It.'s songs stem from Weiss' own personal experiences, but are still relatable by one theme and one theme only: life.
Proper was recorded at Blacklodge Studios in Eudora, KS and co-produced by Ed Rose. The album features contributions from Nick Wakim of Stay Ahead of the Weather/CSTVT on drums and Nathan Ellis of The Casket Lottery. Album art was photographed at Weiss' apartment in Chicago by Ryan Russell.

 Agitations
Cobra Skulls
$12.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Cobra Skulls have been on an upward trajectory since they sloughed off the shackles of their hometown of Reno, and started bringing their unique musical stylings to the masses back in 2005. Even with two full-lengths and 4 EPs to their credit already, not to mention a brutal tour schedule, the guys haven't let the breakneck pace slow them down.
Less than a year after their heralded debut release on Fat Wreck Chords, Bringing the War Home, they are set to deliver a follow-up full-length titled Agitations. As has become their calling card, the music on Agitations runs the gamut from rockabilly to folk/punk and hits all points in between. Any discerning listener can pick out hints of The Misfits, Against Me, The Clash, Chuck Berry, and any number of other varied artists in Cobra Skulls' music. The mastery of their craft is in the way they seamlessly blend an array of influences, giving nods to each, yet maintaining an old school punk fabric throughout each song.
The other hallmark of a Cobra Skulls record is the urgent message they propagate and the content on Agitations is no different. The lyrical themes on the album reflect a passion and vitriol uncommon in today's punk music and serve as an accelerant to the bonfire that is Agitations. All 13 tracks jolt the listeners' ears and conscience with a whiplash like intensity, just as a true punk rock album should.

Slug

"Buried-in-the-mix vocals, two bass players, a drummer who performs on industrial parts as well as a conventional snare and kick drum, a more ominous guitar sound that The Velvet Underground, and droning tape loops all combine to give LA's Slug not so much a sound as a chaotic noise. The whole thing sounds like such fun listeners will wish they were in there pounding away and contributing to this racket. God know what songs like Sung Il Meat and Kitty Thai Spice are really about but playing Slug loud late at night will get you out of your lease. John Peel would, and no doubt will, love this." - Modulations

 Sessions 1981-83
Void
$12.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Thirty miles north of Washington, there is a town in Maryland called Columbia, one of the first planned-communities built in the US, and in retrospect, the perfect birthplace for a band as completely chaotic as Void. Their DC debut was in 1980 at the first Wilson Center show, a marathon fifteen-band affair largely organized by the Bad Brains. When Void started a song it was as if each member was playing his own parts as fast as humanly possible, but not necessarily together. Unlike most bands, whose performances become predictable, Void shows became increasingly discombobulated and ever more fraught with disaster. The live chaos remained even as they started to embrace a metal image and sound towards the end of their three-year existence. While to some it may have seemed like complete cacophony, to those in the know it was music on a higher level.
While organizing their archive, Dischord came across the four-track of Voids first recording session. It was done with Steve Carr at Hit and Run Studios in November 81 and never officially released. The tape was remixed by Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara at Inner Ear earlier this year. These embryonic versions of what would become Void classics as well as songs that didnt make the cut prove just how driven this band was to capture their own sound.
Sessions 1981-83 features the entire Hit and Run session along with the first Inner Ear demo (including the Flex Your Head cuts and the songs that ended up on the Condensed Flesh 7-inch), two outtakes from their second Inner Ear session (that spawned their legendary split LP with Faith), and a couple of live recordings including one that is almost certainly the last song they ever played.

180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed

Ranked 41/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Recognizing that there's no such thing as bad publicity, manager-Svengali Malcolm McLaren molded the Sex Pistols into the most confrontational, nihilistic band rock & roll had ever seen. Propelled by Johnny Rotten's maniacal vocals, Steve Jones's buzz-saw guitar, and (most importantly) bass player Glen Matlock's hook-filled compositional skills, the Sex Pistols' early singles Anarchy in the U.K. and God Save the Queen defined the raging style of British punk. By the time they recorded their lone 1977 album, Matlock had been bounced, replaced by the volatile Sid Vicious. Never Mind The Bollocks remains a bile-filled emblem of the times. Punk rocks quintessential album, reissued here on 180g virgin vinyl LP.

Originally released in 1979, the debut from British all-girl post-punk band The Slits is available on 180 gram vinyl for the first time. Mixing a punk attitude and D.I.Y style with reggae rhythms and dub recording techniques, The Slits made some of the most avant pop of the period, which still sounds fresh and innovative today. Sing In Japanese
Me First & The Gimme Gimmes
$9.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
In keeping with the theme of their last release, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes decided to tackle the proud musical tradition of another country, rather than a specific genre. This time they set their sights on the land of the rising sun, Japan, the birthplace of Karaoke. The fact that the Gimme Gimmes are one of the most renowned cover bands around makes this a match made in heaven.
Spike's sweet crooning is universally pleasing, as he proves by deftly belting out the 6 tracks on Sing In Japanese in the dialect in which they were originally written. The boys ply their fun-loving, punk rock style to these Japanese classics, resulting in 6 up-tempo sing-alongs peppered with guitar riffs hotter than wasabi.
Track Listing:
1. Hero
2. Kokoro No Tabi
3. Kekkon Shiyoyo

 Let The Dominoes Fall
Rancid
$19.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Rancid's Let The Dominoes Fall is essential Rancid: a readymade punk classic that will take its place beside And Out Come the Wolves as a touchstone of the genre, filled with two-minute gems that every kid in America will be singing along with this summer. Lead by first single Last One To Die, a defiant anthem of brotherhood and commitment that's already tearing it up at modern rock radio, Let the Dominoes Fall both continues and expands on Rancid's legacy, as the new songs show a lyrical depth perhaps best shown in the two songs that center the album, Civilian Ways and The Bravest Kids. Punk has often seen the world as us vs. them, but with these two songs, a sensitive portrait of a returning serviceman and a loving tribute to those that serve, Rancid show empathy for working Americans that recalls the songs of Springsteen or Petty. Rancid have set their sights on greater things and hit the bullseye. Also features guest star Booker T. on Hammond organ on the super danceable Up To No Good.

WORN IN RED hail from the long-standing promised land of thick, blistering hardcore; Virginia. They share hometowns in both Richmond and Charlottesville, drinking deep from a rich history of since-fallen bands like Sleepytime Trio, Hoover, Four Hundred Years, Maximillian Colby, Action Patrol, and Frodus, while also paying tribute to contemporary titans Planes Mistaken For Stars, Glass and Ashes, and Hot Water Music. Considering how nice these guys are, they sure do yell a lot. They feel like family. Their songs gnawed their way into my brain over the last year, and being involved in this record was not an option: it became an imperative. Heavy and pummeling locks in with a melodic, open groove. Duality in tandem. Good hair too.Var / No Idea. (STREET DATE - 12/01/2009)

 Television City Dream
Screeching Weasel
$13.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
As the quintessential band of the pop-punk genre, Screeching Weasel posses a sound and style as recognizable as that of the Ramones, Sex Pistols, or even The Clash. In looking over their venerable catalog, Ben Weasel (singer/songwriter/guitarist) realized that the sound and appearance of one release in particular, Television City Dream, didn't quite measure up to the standard set by all the others.
Due to this fact, Ben decided to revisit Television City Dream and create the album the band had originally envisioned. Of course amending the sound of the album was the first and paramount task. Justin Perkins (bassist) accomplished this by completely remixing and remastering all the songs from the original recordings, including five songs from the session that didn't appear on the initial release. In addition, the band resequenced the whole album to accomodate the five newly included tracks and to lend an entirely new feel to it.
Finally, the original artwork was scrapped and replaced with brand new art much more befitting of what Screeching Weasel is known for. With vastly improved sound quality, additional songs and a whole new look, this incarnation of Television City Dream is essentially a new album altogether.

None More Black
$11.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed

More than two years after the lauded announcement of their reunion, None More Black have ended the seemingly interminable wait for new material with the promised full-length Icons. Constructed on a backbone of punk rock learned in former bands (Kid Dynamite, Kill Your Idols, New Mexican Disaster Squad), the songs on Icons flourish into something much more dramatic. The gruff intonations and captivating melodies that have become Jason Shevchuk's hallmark are complemented by a complex layering of ambitious instrumentation, which, when brought together, achieve a nearly indescribable result. One moment the listener is thrust into a maelstrom of heavy guitars and frenzied rhythms, and the very next is pacified by a reflective reprieve. All of this is accented with innovative backing vocals and thoughtful, yet frank, lyrics. Icons is truly unique in its arrangement and execution and it will obliterate the expectations of fans and critics alike.

1984 was a time of redefinition within the punk scene in Washington, DC and Rites of Spring more than led the charge. Rites of Spring not only challenged the macho posturing that had become so prevalent, but more importantly they defied musical and stylistic rule. The people that followed the band made it a point to try to never miss a gig, as ROS seemed to approach every show as if it was their last. The results could be explosive, often resulting in the destruction of their equipment, and this may well be one reason that they ended up playing only about 15 shows.
In their brief existence Rites of Spring released one full-length, End on End, and a 7", All Through A Life, both on Dischord Records. This album was first released in June of 1985. The CD was re-mastered in 2002 and the LP was re-cut and re-issued in 2009

This Is The Second Album Of A Band Called Adebisi Shank
Adebisi Shank
$16.99
Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
On This Is the Second Album From A Band Called Adebisi Shank, the Wexford, Ireland trio Adebisi Shank deftly merges the triumphant guitar harmonies of Fang Island with the mathematic precision of Battles, the genre-surfing playfulness of Daft Punk and the churning intensity of HEALTH.
But it's much more than the sum of those parts, it's a sound befitting of the retrofuturism we've come to love about old films where archaic technology collide with far more further-reaching ideas. To wit, the album cover depicting two zebras galloping across a Tron-style neon landscape perfectly embodies the transcendent intersection of triumphant guitars and rollicking drums with vintage synthesizers, marimbas, horns, vocoder, synthesizers, ensemble percussion and musical instruments we're not sure have even been invented yet.
This is the Second Album of a Band Called Adebisi Shank features contributions from Mercury Prize nominated Villagers frontman Conor J O'Brien and Ireland's Choice Prize winner Richie "Jape" Egan among others. The album was recorded and produced by the band and Stephen J. Caffrey in various locations around Ireland and mixed and mastered by TJ Lipple at his home in Washington DC.

Limited Edition
Today garage, psych and punk are dropped from every direction to brand, market and sell, but looking back to the mid-1960s, there was only one group of musical mavericks that clearly defined them. The Monks were five beat playing American GIs stationed in Germany who, after their discharge, decided to stay and continue their musical mission. Meeting up with a team of local managers, they transformed themselves and their sound into a holy racket like the world had never known. This five-person order literally birthed the above genres through a fuzz-drenched evolution of sound, bursting with social commentary and future primitive rhythms.
Light In The Attic ecstatically presents the Monks recorded legacy through two lavishly packaged and lovingly researched Double Vinyl reissues: The Early Years 1964-1965 and their landmark studio album Black Monk Time. Bonus material dating back to pre-Monks Torquays and up to post Black Monk 7s are also included. Each Limited Edition Double Vinyl gatefold LP features 180g wax, hand-numbered old school tip-on jacket, lyrics and notes.

 Grey Britain
Gallows
$22.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
|
Not since the days of the Sex Pistols and the Clash has a band exploded from the fertile U.K. hardcore scene with such urgency, energy, and anger as the Gallows. Grey Britain, the group's second album, is a damning indictment of a country crippled by recession, and suffering from racism, ignorance and hopelessness. Hard, heavy, loud, deep and bleak, produced by Garth GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine), Grey Britain may be the most important punk rock record in years to come out of not only Britain but anywhere.
Formed in 2005, Gallows earned a reputation as the fiercest band around first in community centers and punk dives, and later at established venues and festivals. 2006's debut Orchestra Of Wolves was reissued by Warner Bros. in the U.K. and Epitaph in the U.S. and in 2007 its Staring At The Rude Bois went U.K. Top 40 and hit #1 U.K. Rock. Gallows also won the 2007 Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer.
