BLOWFLY, the original dirty rapper and masked superhero/porno freak, returns to Alternative Tentacles with the most perverted way to dry hump the cash cow of punk: Blowfly's Punk Rock Party! Kicking off with the anthem "Punk Cock Is Rock," BLOWFLY and his band of hardcore deviants take you on a journey through the punk standards. THE RAMONES, THE STOOGES and THE CLASH are put through the XXX porno filter, emerging as "I Wanna Be Fellated," "I Wanna Fuck Your Dog" and "Should I Lay This Big Fat Ho." No legend, dead or alive, is sacred: Punk Rock Party crasher JELLO BIAFRA helps lampoon his own legacy with two "R. KELLY in Cambodia" renditions. But wait...there's more! The skewering extends to contemporary acts, including TURBONEGRO and the OFFSPRING, ensuring both OG punks and new school poseurs get equal punishment. 19 songs long and 12 inches deep, Blowfly's Punk Rock Party is the stuff wet dreams are made of--after all, what's more punk than screwin' with the sacred calf?

Tripping back through Aliasi discography, one canit deny that Brendon Whitney is a man on a mission. Over six full-length albums, several EPs and numerous collaborations, Alias has been, well, for lack of a more artful term, diversifying. With the release of Collected Remixesoa hand-picked compilation of Aliasis greatest work as a remix artistothere need be no question: Alias owns a damn respectable portfolio. Collected Remixes features tracks from a diverse group of successful artists: One AM Radio, John Vanderslice, Lucky Pierre, Giardini Di Miro, Sixtoo, Lali Puna, Christ., Lunz, and Boy in Static, with Anticonis own Yoni Wolf (Why?) dropping by to perform on a lost jam session from 13 & God.
Most impressively, this collection of import-only, lost or limited release tracks plays like an album, each song the proud new owner of the Alias trademark: that alternately searing and frostbitten production, reverberating and crunchy, built of considered keystrokes, finely cut click ini pop, guitar pickings, and drum machine ballistics. With yet another accomplishment in his weighty profile, Alias returns to the studio in 2007 to craft a new solo instrumental LP.
Track Listing:
1. What You Gave Away - Remix for The One AM Radio
2. Into the Trees - Remix for 13 & God
3. Exodus Damage - Remix for John Vanderslice
4. Marsh of Epidemics - Remix for Christ.
5. Alienation - Remix for Lali Puna
6. Clue - Remix for Lunz
7. Stay Awake - Remix for Boy in Static
8. Crush - Remix for Lucky Pierre
9. Given Ground - Remix for Giardini Di Miro
10. Karmic Retribution/Funny Sticks - Remix for Sixtoo
11. 9:24 Cigarette - (Version 2) by Alias & Tarsier
The eyes closed EP is five beautifully arranged instrumental songs of filtered polyrhythmic percussion, fat chopped drums, droney synths, pretty string samples and some TV and radio overdubs with anti-imperialist / anti-consumer sentiments. Each of the five tracks stands alone, a four-minute electronic pocket symphony with movements and themes, while smoothly transitioning into the next. A departure from early sample-heavy, loop-based alias productions, tracks laden with washy keyboards and eerie guitar rely more on alias's multi-instrumental talents. Lying somewhere between ambient Brian Eno and Kraftwerk, eyes closed seems akin to Boards of Canada or early Aphex Twin while maintaining some of the boom bap of roots hiphop-- at the same time rainy day contemplative and rhythmically menacing.
A former member of Deep Puddle Dynamics and The Live Poets, alias has collaborated with every member of the anticon roster, Slug of Atmosphere, Sage Francis, DJ Krush, and The Notwist. He has toured the world, performing with such acts as The Roots, Dalek, Freestyle Fellowship, and Kid 606. Composing music from his deepest shades, alias is a jack of all trades wringing out his heart in song.
* Follows on the heels of his successful full length other side of the looking glass; teaser to upcoming electronic/hip hop instrumental full length featuring Markus Acher of The Notwist (among other guests)
* Producer behind the majority of sole's selling live water, including popular banger "Plutonium," other sole "classics" such as "Bottle of Humans," and the Sage Francis favorite "Message Sent"
* Former member in Deep Puddle Dynamics with Slug of Atmosphere, sole and doseone of anticon

Things Got a Little Ugly
Not content with mugging the music world with the critically acclaimed London Zoo album, THE BUG returns with two tracks that have been smashing it on dubplate. Regularly played out by Kode9, Digital Mystikz, and Skream, demand for a general release has grown to the point where it was impossible to ignore. One can probably guess to what "Ganja" is an ode; The Bug's bass assault, combined with the rapid-fire lyrical mode of ROLL DEEP's FLOWDAN and KILLA P, gives off a skunky flavor of cannabis psychosis. "Flying," featuring ROOTS MANUVA's right-hand man, RICKY RANKING, is more laid back--a rinsed-out, trippy, almost meditative piece. The acclaim for London Zoo has been a victory for KEVIN MARTIN's uncompromising musical stance. This 12-inch reaffirms that triumph.
Track Listing:
1. Ganja feat. Killa P, Flowdan (Produced By: The Bug)
2. Flying feat. Ricky Ranking (Produced By: The Bug)
Poison Dart" is the third single from The Bug's (a.k.a. Kevin Martin) forthcoming album on Ninja Tune Records, following the big singles "Jah War" and "Skeng". The Bug teams up with Warrior Queen, a longtime collaborator whom he introduced to UK audiences with Aktion Pak on Aphex Twin's Rephlex records, after connecting with her via MC Wayne Lonesome. Fresh from remixing Ghislain Poirier and Thom Yorke (at Yorke's request, who happens to be a fan), Bug has received much praise from such varied mavericks as Massive Attack, Aphex Twin, Kid 606, Andy Weatherall, and Pole, to name just a few. Part one is packaged in an amazing looking yellow PVC sleeve.
Track Listing:
Side One:
1. Poison Dart (Original Mix)
Side Two:
1. Poison Dart (South Rakkas Crew Remix)
Remix - South Rakkas Crew
2. Poison Dart (DJ Baku Mega Mix)
Number two includes "Stampin" with Bug's ongoing lyrical partner Roll Deep, and mic assassin Flowdan getting totally homicidal on "Poison." Both worked together on the "Jah War" and "Skeng" singles. Part two is packaged in a black PVC sleeve.
Track Listing:
Side One:
1. Poison Dart (Skream Remix)
Side Two:
1. Poison Dart (Stereotyp Remix)
2. Stampin' ft. Flowdan
In Gibson's Neuromancer, when Case and Molly meet the two surviving founders of Zion, there is talk of hearing a "mighty dub" in the Babel of tongues signaling the "final days." If indeed we're living in these "end times," as many predict, then there can be no more of an appropriate soundtrack for the coming apocalypse than The Bug's London Zoo.
The Bug is the main project for Kevin Martin, a producer who has headed a diverse range of projects. He is part of Techno Animal, Ice, and God (all with Justin Broadrick of Godflesh and Jesu), King Midas Sound, Razor X Productions (with The Rootsman), Pressure, and Ladybug; runs his Pathological Records label; and has collaborated with noise jazz outfit 16-17, Pete "Sonic Boom" Kemper's E.A.R. project, John Zorn, Kevin Shields, El-P, and the Antipop Consortium. He has recorded for Rephlex, Position Chrome/Mille Plateaux, Word Sound, Hyperdub, City Slang, Tigerbeat 6, Grand Royal, and now Ninja Tune. He has been personally asked to remix Thom Yorke, Grace Jones, Einsturzende Neubauten, and Primal Scream, and compiled jazz and dub compilations for Virgin Records. London Zoo is the fruition of all these activities.
The album was born of three key moments: an introduction to the thriving dubstep scene (of which The Bug is very much a pioneer from before it carried a name) and its key producers (via Kode 9 and Loefah) where Martin realized there were others on the same sonic trajectory as himself; an introduction to Warrior Queen via his work with Wayne Lonesome on the Razor X Productions project; and a Mary Anne Hobbs Breezeblock session which introduced him to Flowdan (Roll Deep) and Ricky Ranking. All three of these figure heavily in the end result and live presentation.
The obvious entry point to the album is the dubstep tag, particularly after the success of the three lead-up singles, but London Zoo clearly reaches past, brings together, and celebrates reference points from dancehall, grime, hip-hop, and noise-- it could have only come out of London sound-system culture, while its appeal spans cities and scenes.
From the opening strains of "Angry" (featuring reggae legend Tippa Irie) it's clear that the world has been served notice from the heart of the UK capital. The message is further strengthened as Ranking (best known for his work with Roots Manuva), Flowdan, Warrior Queen, Spaceape, Roger Robinson, Killa P, and Aya step up to lay waste to the boombastic rhythms put before them, eventually culminating in "Judgement" where Ranking leaves us with a prophecy: "So much people are losing their minds, because we're living in a serious time. I guess it come in like a judgment sign, the people have killing on their mind." Living in end times, indeed. Best start building the Marcus Garvey tug now.

Since 1991 Busta Rhymes has been greeted as a transformational, bar-raising iconoclastic performer and writer. Not only was he a member of the four-man group Leaders of the New School, but also as a member of Native Tongue Brothers which consisted of A Tribe Called Quest, Leaders Of The New School, Black Sheep, De La Soul and Jungle Brothers. That same year Leaders Of The New School teamed up with A Tribe Called Quest to create the all-time classic single “Scenario,” and released A Future Without a Past on Elektra Records.
In 1996 Busta Rhymes released his debut solo album, The Coming, which featured the hit song “Woo Hah! Got You All In Check.” The single marked his first of 14 RIAA gold and platinum certifications in his association with Elektra as a solo artist and founder of Flipmode Squad, and an additional five through J Records and Aftermath/Interscope. His 2006 album, The Big Bang, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Busta Rhymes’ run in the international pop, rap and urban top ten has extended over a decade, from the platinum Grammy-nominated single “Woo-Hah! Got You All in Check” through the No. 1 Hip-Hop/R&B and No. 3 pop “What’s it Gonna Be?!” featuring Janet Jackson and “Pass the Courvoisier” with Diddy and Pharrell, and into the digital era with the gold-certified mastertone “Touch It.” In between making albums, Busta entered the acting arena starring in John Singleton’s hit movie Higher Learning (1995) in which Busta made his acting debut. Busta teamed up again with John Singleton and starred along side Samuel L. Jackson, Vanessa Jackson and Christian Bale in the remake of the 1971 classic Shaft (2000). Also in 2000 Busta Rhymes starred with Sir Sean Connery in Finding Forrester, and in 2002 he starred with the ‘Queen Of Horror Movies’ Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween Resurrection.
As Busta Rhymes embarks on his eighth studio album Back On My B.S., his first release through Universal Motown Records, Busta will once again prove that he is a formidable centerpiece in music. As an iconic figure, Busta has demonstrated to be a viable and respectable mainstay amongst both diverse group peers and an elaborate fan-base.

The quiet, prolific producer collaborated with everyone from Eryka Badu to Common to Janet Jackson to Prince. J Dilla was just beginning to capitalize on his cult status when he sadly passed at age 32 due to Lupus-related complications. Jay Stay Paid is a 25 track collection of unreleased Dilla beats mixed and arranged by Pete Rock. While mostly instrumental, Jay Stay Paid also offers a few guests vocals from artists that Dilla worked with or admired including Black Thought of The Roots, MF DOOM, M.O.P., Blu and more.
The album is overseen by Maureen Yancey (aka Ma Dukes) along with the musical supervision of Dilla’s only real musical idol, Pete Rock. “This album combines what he did in the beginning of his career, what he did in some of our early hospital stays, which was very deep, and some stuff pulled from old disks & DATs. Its mind blowing...this is like the missing links to Dilla’s legacy.”

With over 16 years in the business, Redman & Method Man are certifiable rap superstars with a devoted fan-base that spans the globe. The secret to their longevity as one of rap’s longest lasting duos is due in part to the fact that the two emcees bring fun to hip-hop. Hardly taking themselves too seriously, Red & Meth have always been about good times and carefree humor, as evidenced on their debut album Blackout! (1999) and the follow-up How High Soundtrack (2001). Their comedic personalities allowed them to transition to the big screen in the cult classic film How High (2001) as well as the small screen with the FOX sitcom Method & Red (2004). Now they're back with the sequel to their debut, Blackout 2! The album features production from Pete Rock, Erick Sermon and Rockwilda among others.

The following year Mos released his solo debut, Black On Both Sides, which was certified gold. In 2004 came The New Danger, which received a Grammy nomination for its first single, “Sex, Love and Money.” Mos Def released True Magic in late 2006, which brought the artist another Grammy nomination for the album’s first single “Undeniable.”

Mos completed his Broadway debut in 2002 in the Tony nominated, Pulitzer Prize winning, Topdog/Underdog and later starred in the off-Broadway play, Fucking A, for which he was awarded an Obie Award.

Loso's Way Fabolous $15.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
It takes talent to make the struggle to succeed seem effortless, but that is the gift that separates artists like Brooklyn’s John Jackson, aka Fabolous, from the everyday MC. While most rappers spend more and more time convincing the masses of their hustle, Fabolous lets his work speak for his effort. With two platinum albums (2001’s Ghetto Fabolous and 2003’s Street Dreams) and two Gold (2004’s Real Talk and 2007’s From Nothin’ to Somethin’) to his credit, the veteran hit-maker still exudes a rookie-of-the year swagger. “I’m trying to bring good music back to the game,” he says confidently. “And anybody that’s bringing good music, the hype is gonna follow them.”
Loso’s Way is Fabolous’ fifth studio album. The Brooklyn native was inspired to record the album after viewing the 1993 Al Pacino drama Carlito’s Way. He says we all have more in common with Charlie Brigante than we know. Loso's Way promises to be yet another smash as it features songs put together by producer to the stars, Tricky Stewart and collaborations with The Dream, Lil Wayne, Keri Hilson, Trey Songz and Marsha Ambrosia just to name a few.

Q-Tip's long-delayed Kamaal the Abstract, slated originally for release in 2001, is finally here. A musical hybrid, Kamaal was commendably avant-garde at the time of its creation. Amazingly, it's even more apropriate in 2009; given the dearth of musical merit and capable MCs in the modern state of hip hop.
Kamaal the Abstract is an intensely idiosyncratic and revealing record. To that end, Q-Tip produced the entire album himself, even playing several instruments. What results is a daring melange of soul, cool-jazz, hip-hop and organic pop magic in the vein of Stevie Wonder and Prince. Tip is joined by saxophonist Kenny Garrett, a one-time member of Miles Davis' ensemble, on the breathy "Abstractionisms," and flutist Gary Thomas (another Davis sideman) on "Do U Dig U." Kamaal the Abstract still boasts all the earmarks of Q-Tip's inimitable mic control as heard on the standout tracks "Even If It Is So" and "Blue Girl." Re-mixed and re-mastered for full sonic impact!
Track Listing:
1. Feelin'

K7 presents the next installment in the DJ-Kicks series and they couldn't have come up with a better pairing. Chromeo is Canadian's P-Thugg and Dave 1: best friends, virtuoso musicians and walking hip-hop encyclopedias.
After releasing two albums (She's In Control and Fancy Footwork), hitting the dancefloors, attacking the charts with You're So Gangsta and Needy Girl, remixing the likes of Cut Copy and Lenny Kravitz, Feist and Vampire Weekend, and years of jet setting and globetrotting...the time is right to hear their take on DJ-Kicks.
A tribute to Canada of sorts, it includes many maple leaf underground classics and obscurities as well as unreleased versions of Chateau Marmont and the DJ Kicks exclusive track with Chromeo manipulating The Eagles classic "I Can't Tell You Why."

The Takeoff Playaz Circle Flight 360 $15.99
Vinyl LP - 2 LPs Sealed
The latest southern rap duo Playaz Circle made their debut in 2007 with Supply & Demand. Signed to the groundbreaking Disturbing tha Peace label, founded by multi-platinum and Grammy winning artist and actor Ludacris and Disturbing Tha Peace CEO Chaka Zulu, these Georgia boys continue to make noise with their current hit "Stupid" featuring OJ Da Juiceman from their sophomore album Flight 360: The Takeoff. "We come from the era when hip-hop really had substance," Tity Boy says. "We were students of artists like NWA, Too Short and Big Daddy Kane. We knew all of that music." Growing-up in the College Park section of Atlanta at a time when hometown groups like Goodie Mob and Outkast were pioneering a southern hip-hop sensibility, the Playaz Circle rap duo Tity Boy and Dolla were boyhood friends before either had ever busted a rhyme. Playaz Circle proves that there is little competition when it comes to being the hottest crew from the south. "On our songs, we just strive to make timeless songs that make you feel good," says Tity Boy. There is no argument; Playaz Circle has achieved that goal.

His first full album of new material in almost a decade, The Seventh Seal is Rakim’s contemporary observation of the Hip-Hop culture he helped define. While staying loyal to his New York roots, the artist has created a body of work that encompasses the very best of regional, underground and mainstream styles reformed and delivered through his intricate lyricism and the seemingly effortless flow for which he is revered. The first single, “Holy Are You” (produced by long-time Rakim collaborator Nick Wiz) embodies the overall concept of the album, communicating Rakim’s worldview and spirituality through artistic interpretation of scriptures and revelations about the coming of the Apocalypse and each persons role in the world around them.

Ghostface Killah, Wu Tan Clan's most prolific member, is set to release his 6th Def Jam album (and 10th major label career album) Ghostdini The Wizard Of Poetry, described as an R&B-influenced rap album. Ghostdini The Wizard Of Poetry's first single will be “Baby” featuring Raheem Devaughn.
Ghost's most recent release was Ghostdeini The Great (December, 2008), his first official archive collection on the Def Jam label, blending classic tracks with remixes and new verses. Guests included W-TC, fellow Def Jam artists Kanye West and Ne-Yo, Amy Winehouse, Mary J. Blige, Ice Cube, and others. The collection also drew tracks from three of Ghost's Def Jam albums: Fishscale (March 2006), More Fish (December 2006) and The Big Doe Rehab (December 2007)
Implementing live instruments instead of looped samples or beats -- and helmed by the quick tongue of MC Travis McCoy -- there's really no denying the enjoyable affair that is Gym Class Heroes' As Cruel as School Children. Launching with the booty-shaking "The Queen and I," the Heroes prove straightaway that they've got enough confidence, catchy rhythms, and sense of melody amid all their tight grooves and emo hipster instincts to keep things moving right along. Being a hip-hop outfit largely residing in the world of the Warped Tour, it somehow makes sense that Arrested Development's Speech makes an appearance ("Biters Block") alongside guys like William Beckett from the Academy Is... ("7 Weeks") and Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump (on the eccentric "Clothes Off!"). But while this combination of influences largely works to Gym Class Heroes' musical advantage and overall appeal, there's still something that makes their music seem not quite like a novelty and more like a fleeting pleasure. How long can a song based on Myspace relationships ("New Friend Request") really last before lines like "My man Tom introduced us but I was too shy to say hi" or "I never see my face in your Top 8" become more annoying than witty? And even if hitting topics like the life of a touring band and calling out fake, trendy music is relevant, by now it just seems more a clich. The band's sincerity isn't in question and Gym Class Heroes are a talented crew. But ultimately, it's this standard spring of inspiration that keeps As Cruel as School Children from being much else than a perfect hangout record for summer 2006. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide

Custom Cars & Cycles is the debut album from Rick Ross protegees Triple C's.
"I'm so strict when it comes to albums and the music and the quality of music," Ross said of the LP. "The myths I hear about Dr. Dre, I try to implement that into what we are doing. I just want our music to always sound better. The way we recorded the records, it turned out incredible. A lot of groups haven't been successful ... the problems come when no other superstars emerge. So I made sure we stayed away from that. When everybody absorbs where we coming from, Torch, he's gonna be the future of New York City. Gunplay, he's got one of the rawest unorthodox flows in the game. Young Breed, he's the streets — he's gonna give you some of the wittiest bars. And me, I'm gonna just put the caviar on top of the cracker."
