Alone With A Friend is the debut album from LA modern psychedelic shoegaze outfit Talk In Tongues. This record
demonstrates the band’s handle on a wide swath of sounds and textures, and reflects on their influences which
range from Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd to early Creation bands like Ride and Jesus and Mary Chain. Though they
are certainly well-versed in their sonic predecessors, Talk In Tongues have crafted a sound and an album that is
truly their own.

Love is all you need. It’s been said many times and many ways of course, but it’s truer now than ever.
When The Mowgli’s first landed on the scene, their message of positivity and love resonated with audiences everywhere. The group’s 2013 major label debut, Waiting for the Dawn [Photo Finish], debuted at #4 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and yielded the hit “San Francisco”. Following its release, the seven-piece—Colin Louis Dieden [vocals, guitar], Katie Jayne Earl [vocals, percussion], Dave Appelbaum [keyboards], Josh Hogan [guitar, vocals], Matthew Di Panni [bass], Spencer Trent [guitar, vocals], and Andy Warren [drums]—performed on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CONAN, Watch What Happens Live, and more. Between headline tours and runs supporting everybody from Walk The Moon to Manchester Orchestra, they even cut a song for the Relativity Media hit film Earth To Echo. Along the way, their interpretation of love became even clearer, and it defines their sophomore outing, Kids In Love.
“Our first album essentially said, ‘What’s up everyone? We’re The Mowgli’s, and we believe love can change the world,” explains Katie. “Over the past couple of years, we really came to terms with who we are as a band. With Kids In Love we’re exploring the intricacies of love. It’s such a broad concept. This time around, we get into intimate love, personal love, as well as universal love. We’ve found art is the best vehicle to ponder what this really means.”
“Before, the concept was painted in very broad strokes,” Colin goes on. “Our intention was to start a movement and a culture around what we do. We put all of that under a microscope on this album and talked about personal experiences and stories, the lack of love, and finding it again.”
“We’ve learned so much about the business, ourselves, and this message,” adds Josh. “We’ve become more direct. It’s a little wiser.”
In order to properly convey that sentiment, the group teamed up with producer Tony Hoffer [The Kooks, Silversun Pickups, Fitz & The Tantrums] in his Los Angeles studio during the summer of 2014. With Hoffer at the helm, they fine-tuned their sound into an elegant amalgam of influences. Additionally, they recorded with prior collaborators Captain Cuts [Smallpools, Tove Lo] – a production team that includes Ryan Rabin of Grouplove, and worked with Matt Radosevich [Walk The Moon, One Direction] on two additional tracks. “We wanted to create songs that we knew we would enjoy playing live, songs we hoped that speak to people’s personal experiences with love and life and loss and everything that comes with being a kid – or really anyone - in love,” Katie explains.
“We’ve been on tour incessantly, and this album was really written all over the country,” Colin recalls. “It was composed in green rooms, hotels, parking lots, and everywhere in between. I went to Nashville for a week on a whim and tried to learn how to write country music. I was so lucky to work with some of the best in the business. I wanted to bring some of those storytelling elements into the music too. We really grew up, and the songs reflect that journey.”
The first released track “Through The Dark” builds from a shimmering acoustic guitar into an unshakable harmony between Josh and Colin. It shines its own kind of musical light.
“Everybody goes through dark times,” Josh asserts. “We’re trying to put a positive spin on that though, and show you can get through that darkness no matter what.”
Colin continues, “In a weird way, it feels like the answer to Waiting for the Dawn. It’s a hopeful and encouraging song.”
Then, there’s the first single “I’m Good.” It begins with a sun-soaked clean guitar and resounding percussion before snapping into a delightful refrain that’s undeniably unforgettable. You’ll feel good after one listen…
Elsewhere on the album, “Whatever Forever” is augmented by driving handclaps and a group chorus that proves infectious. Lyrically, it stemmed from some shared ink within the band. “Colin and I both got a tattoo of that phrase a few years ago in a hotel bar during Hurricane Sandy,” smiles Josh. “We’d seen it on the wall of a bar, and it felt like the perfect new life motto. We’re not worried about anything; we’re just going for it.”
“That’s a personal favorite,” concurs Colin. “After one show, I had a girl walk up to me and say, ‘I’ve been dealing with so much and hurting so badly. I adopted 'Whatever Forever’ as my mantra. I needed that.’ Sometimes, you need to distance yourself from what hurts.”
Ultimately, The Mowgli’s open up their hearts once more, and the results are nothing short of inspiring. “We just want people to feel good,” Katie concludes. “It’s a domino effect. If someone leaves a show feeling great, maybe they pay it forward. If we can contribute a little bit of joy, companionship, and happiness, we’re doing our part to make the world a little brighter.”
“I want them to feel inspired to do something positive,” Josh agrees. “It’s all about sharing that.” Colin leaves off, “I want this to be a positive transformative experience. It’s almost like falling in love. When you’re in a good mood, you tend to react positively. I hope it adds more positivity and love to the world.”

A Forest Of Arms is the new album from Tony Dekker’s Great Lake Swimmers and the follow up to 2012’s
New Wild Everywhere. With a surging rhythm section, razor sharp violin, and flourishing banjo and guitars, Dekker
and band mates have pushed their sound significantly, creating some of their most dynamic songs ever recorded.
Those familiar with the decade-long output of Great Lake Swimmers will recognize the thematic threads of
beauty in the natural world, environmental issues and explorations of close personal ties that hold us together. The
familiar versus the strange theme is also running through this record, both in the instrumentation and in the
songwriting (“Zero In The City”, “I Was A Wayward Pastel Bay”).
As with past Great Lake Swimmers albums, A Forest Of Arms was recorded in several locations over the span of
several months, covering extensive new territory while remaining true to the group’s refined sound. One of the
unique and unusual locations was Tyendinaga Cavern and Caves in Tyendinaga, Ontario, where a number of the
vocal and acoustic guitar tracks, including the main parts for “Don’t Leave Me Hanging,” “The Great Bear” and
“With Every Departure,” were recorded amid haunting acoustics, stalactites, and circling bats.
The violins were recorded at the Heliconian Club of Toronto, while the bass and drum tracks were largely recorded
at the Chalet Studio just outside of Toronto, a unique chalet-style recording space located on 40 acres of rolling hills
and trails, in proximity to the shores of Lake Ontario. The pastoral and elemental nature of these spaces surfaces
throughout the album.
The title, A Forest Of Arms, is taken from album track “The Great Bear,” a song inspired by a trip Dekker took to the
northern rainforests of British Columbia in September 2013 with the World Wildlife Fund. It’s a pristine wilderness
area that is under threat of being compromised by the construction of a pipeline, and Dekker and the group
have been very vocal in their opposition to it. In a broader sense, the title is also a reference to the sense
of community surrounding the Toronto-based band, as well as the band’s own growing families, exhibited in
the songs “Something Like A Storm” and “Expecting You.

Another favorite of true Rush fans, this sixth studio album, Hemispheres, once more explored fantasy and science fiction themes in Neil Peart's lyrics. The final track, the ambitious nine-and-a-half minute 'La Villa Strangiato,' was the band's first instrumental. The album peaked at #47 on the Billboard charts, and was the group's fourth consecutive gold album in the U.S., featuring the singles 'The Trees' and 'Circumstances.' Originally released in 1978, Hemispheres has now been remastered on 200-gram, heavyweight vinyl at legendary Abbey Road Studios using the Direct to Metal Mastering (DMM) audiophile copper plating process, all from original analogue masters.

Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling and legendary rock band Soundgarden, have announced the vinyl release of their highly acclaimed rarities collection, Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path. Hard on the heels of the 20th anniversary deluxe re-release of their chart-topping, five-times-platinum 1994 album, Superunknown early last year, the new vinyl package, first released as a 3-CD collection and as a 14-track single CD last November, will feature the three album thematic collection on six LPs with three separate jackets, each sporting its own unique art and housed in a slipcase wrapped in foil paper designed by Josh Graham.
The collection was curated and hand-selected by guitarist Kim Thayil. Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path is the first time an official Soundgarden release has included more than 26 years of rarities that have appeared as B-sides, album bonus tracks, EPs, soundtracks, compilations and live recordings, a must for any fan of the band.
LP 1 & 2, dubbed “ORIGINALS,” is filled with Soundgarden-written songs, mainly B-sides along with some soundtrack and compilation selections in addition to two unreleased songs on vinyl which go back as far as “Sub Pop Rock City,” originally included as part of the 1988 compilation, Sub Pop 200. The two unreleased tracks on this disc are “Kristi,” a 1996 outtake from the Down on the Upside sessions which is reportedly drummer Matt Cameron’s favorite Soundgarden song, and “Storm,” a brand-new track recorded in early 2014.
LP 3 & 4, “COVERS,” offers a stellar showcase of songs from bands who Soundgarden love and admire, from classic rockers The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix and Sly and the Family Stone to punk pioneers The Stooges, the Ramones, Fear and DEVO. Showing their sense of humor, Soundgarden also cover songs by Spinal Tap and Cheech & Chong. The two unreleased tracks include the Beatles’ “Everybody’s Got Something to Hide…” and the Sly Stone track “Thank You…”, both of which were originally recorded for a BBC Radio 1 John Peel session in 1989.
LP 5 & 6, “ODDITIES,” offers a wide-ranging combination of instrumentals, remixes and demos. The unreleased tracks on vinyl include “Twin Tower,” penned by Matt Cameron, which was originally recorded at Seattle’s London Bridge studio in December 1988 during the sessions for Louder Than Love. “Night Surf” is an instrumental performed by bassist Ben Shepherd which the band used to open their 1994 tour in conjunction with an introductory film which screened before they took the stage. Steve Fisk’s new remix of “The Telephantasm (Resurrection Remix),” a song originally released for 2011 Record Store Day, has also never been available on vinyl before.

First Time 180 Gram White Vinyl!
Featuring Guitar Legends: Johnny Winter & Rick Derringer
The legendary rocker and blues statesman Edgar Winter continues to enthrall audiences the world over.
With his unique brand of musical genius and keyboard, sax and vocal prowess, Edgar’s style will always be truly
unmatched in purity and longevity.
While he tours, produces and records non-stop, it’s no secret that his live shows have always been top notch
and legendary. In 1972, Edgar Winter along with his band White Trash played a series of shows at the famed Apollo
Theatre and Academy Of Music in New York City, plus the Whisky A Go-Go in L.A. Luckily, Epic Records captured
the prolific event on tape and the amazing album Roadwork was born.
For Roadwork, the artist surely becomes a superstar on this mammoth 2 LP set. Featuring rock and soul classics
like Chuck Berry’s Back In the U.S.A. and Otis Redding’s I Can’t Turn You Loose, plus tunes from his first two
albums like the epic 17 minute version of Tobacco Road, Roadwork proves to be a never ending festival of rock,
blues, gospel and R&B earth shattering performances. The band features his friends like guitar hero Rick Derringer
as well as power vocalist Jerry LaCroix, and of course his late great brother Johnny Winter brings the house down
with his surprise visit on the smash hit Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo.
The masterpiece was also a primer for a lot of rockers who for the first time would be treated to the likes of
musical pioneers like Bobby “Blue” Bland thanks to the late great Jerry LaCroix’s shuddering vocal performance
on the album closer Turn On Your Lovelight.
Edgar Winter’s artistry is no stranger to the Friday Music label, therefore it is with much honor to announce
the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of his classic Edgar Winter’s White Trash Roadwork album. For
a very short time, this monumental masterwork is being presented on 180 Gram White Vinyl and featuring the

An intelligent blend of melodic and heavy rock, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska is arguably King's X's finest album. It's more exciting than the followup Faith Hope Love, with the heavy opener "Out of the Silent Planet" (C.S. Lewis fans take note), and the hard rock "Fall On Me" and "Over My Head" (a single from the album). There are ballads as well, such as the beautiful "Summerland." The inclusion of the organ, the sitar, and the dulcimer in the arsenal of instruments adds a nice touch. Heavy metal fans may grow impatient with this one, but fans of melody-oriented progressive rock will definitely want to check it out. --Genevieve Williams

King's X lie somewhere between progressive rock and hard rock, and nowhere is that more evident than on this album. They're at their best when rocking out, as on the fast, acrobatic "Moanjam," which occasionally reminds one of Queen's "Headlong." With the slower, delicate "Six Broken Soldiers," they veer more toward Pink Floyd territory; "Fine Art of Friendship" has a fine midtempo groove and some excellent riffs. King's X enjoy harmonizing, as just about every song includes backing vocals, or else two or more of the band members share the lead. The only problem here is that they overdo it, making what could be a series of special moments into just another effect. This, coupled with overly slick production, prevents Faith Hope Love from being a great album. However, it is good, with some fine moments that help make up for its shortcomings. --Genevieve Williams

New full-length from one of the pioneers of the Viking Metal genre with artwork made by Costin Chioreanu.
In over twenty years we have carried out our vision.
We were there when Norwegian extreme metal grew forth and took shape as an enormous cultural export. We played far and wide. At home and abroad. We were part of something new. Something special and innovative. We were there when Norwegian metal gathered and inspired thousands. We were there and swung the hammer when Viking metal was forged as a unique expression that later inspired countless bands, worldwide.
Now the horns of war sound again. And Einherjer is there.
Behind us we have an array of albums - some of which stand as milestones in a genre of explosive growth.

Propelled by the stunning guitar heroics of brothers Pete and Jake Adams, Virginia's Valkyrie return with their third full length Shadows, one of the year's best guitar-driven, heavy rock records. Jam packed with harmonized leads, rich solos and melodic, blues-based riffs, Valkyrie sound like the perfect blend of American style doom rock bands like Pentagram or Spirit Caravan and classic hard rock like Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash, and Deep Purple. Where Pete Adams' other band Baroness focuses more on the modern proggy and poppy side of metal, Valkyrie looks to proto-metal trailblazers for influence while injecting plenty of current day inspiration. Produced by Sanford Parker (Pelican, Leviathan, YOB), Shadows is the perfect summer heavy rock record!

The infamous rock outlaws WEEDEATER return with 'Goliathan', their long-awaited new album. 'Goliathan' is the crossroad where true Southern rock/metal meets raw humor and old religion, and embodies the bands trademark shuffle and swagger rightly. Syrupy slow riffs are buoyed by canyon-deep bass and some of the hardest-hitting drumming since Keith Moon. Full-on bruisers "Cain Enabler", "Claw of the Sloth", and the aptly-named "Bully" demonstrate that 'Goliathan' is vintage WEEDEATER and the soon-to-be gold standard of Southern sludge metal.
