180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 285/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
By the time I'm Still In Love With You was released in 1972, the Al Green/Willie Mitchell Hi Records team was a well-oiled hit-making machine. With a #1 hit under his belt with Let's Stay Together, I'm Still In Love With You put Green right back at the top of the charts with hits like Look What You Done For Me and Love And Happiness. Green also began exploring country music here with his fine interpretations of Kris Kristofferson's For the Good Times and Roy Orbison's Oh Pretty Woman.

Ranked 263/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Ray Charles' initial foray into standards is a career highlight. For the first half, Charles' old friend Quincy Jones crafts hard-swinging big band arrangements that match Ray's band made up of musicians from the Ellington and Basie camps. Pink Flag
Wire
$19.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 410/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Originally released on Harvest in 1977, Pink Flag is perhaps the most original debut album to come out of the first wave of British punk. Exhibiting severe art school damage, Wire careens at breakneck speed through 21 songs in 36 minutes to create an album that has influenced bands for nearly thirty years. 180 gram audiophile vinyl.
There are myriad details that illustrate why Wire's 1977 debut is bulletproof--or at least wildly compelling. There's the count of tracks--21 to be exact--the snare-cracked pulsing roll of 'Reuters,' which sports one of punk's greatest first lines: 'Our own correspondent is sorry to tell of an uneasy time, that all is not well.' There's the six songs that last under a minute (and at least that many more that last under a minute and a half), all of them urgently poised on Colin Newman's deadpan urgency--a laconic riposte to the shouting that in '77 was already central to punk. There's album closer '12XU,' which Minor Threat would make anthemic in their short hardcore-forging career. Pink Flag was made after Wire had played a mere 15 gigs, honing their sound in the atelier of the Clash, Sex Pistols, Ramones, etc. without sounding a smidge like anyone else. Importantly, it's the band itself that got rights to remaster this flawless gem, in a cool gatefold digipak with a fascinating liner essay. That's something you don't see many punks do.

 Meat Is Murder
The Smiths

180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 295/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The Smiths' eclectic 1985 release finds the band branching out into rockabilly, post-punk and flashes of funk, all while refining the guitar pop of their debut. Produced by Morrissey and Johnny Marr, Meat Is Murder is the band's sole studio album to reach #1 on the U.K. charts. The Headmaster Ritual and I Want the One I Can't Have are fine elaborations on the formula the band introduced on their debut, while Rusholme Ruffians is an infectious take on rockabilly. There was no other British group making music quite like this in 1985.

Ranked 216/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Arguably the Smiths' masterpiece, The Queen Is Dead features the elegance, craftsmanship and humor which has led the band to musical eminence. Marr's dense web of guitars create a rich musical foundation here for some of Morrissey's most affecting set of lyrics. The wistful The Boy With the Thorn in His Side and the epic There Is a Light That Never Goes Out are two of the crowning achievements in the band's oeuvre and they provide the ideal cornerstone for what is a remarkable overall album.

With their eponymous 1984 debut, The Smiths began their tenure as the definitive British indie rock band as well as the torchbearers of a new musical era. Johnny Marr's inventive songwriting and Morrissey's unconventional croon made for an evocative sound that was both original and innovative. Songs about homosexuality (Hand in Glove) and child molestation and murder (Suffer Little Children) enshrouded the band in controversy and cultlike devotion, both of which would only grow from here.

 Murmur
R.E.M.
$24.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 197/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
R.E.M. developed a strangely subdued variation of their trademark sound for their full-length debut album, Murmur by de-emphasizing the backbeat and accentuating the ambience of the guitars. Even though it's firmly rooted in the tradition of American folk-rock, post-punk, and garage rock, Murmur sounds eerily timeless, as if it appeared out of nowhere. Part of the distinctiveness lies in the atmospheric production, which exudes a detached sense of mystery, but it also comes from the remarkably accomplished songwriting. R.E.M. went on to produce a few albums that may have been on par with Murmur, but they never made anything that sounded quite like it. Reissued here on audiophile quality 180g vinyl with original packaging.

One of the most enduring musical partnerships of our time, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) are revered for their peerless vocal harmonies, inspired songwriting and musical virtuosity. When the trio first sang together at a friends Laurel Canyon house in 1968, their uncanny harmonic convergence was immediately apparent, and CSN took shape. Each member came to the new venture from other high-profile bands, Crosby from the Byrds, Stills from Buffalo Springfield and Nash from the Hollies, and together they formed that rarest of musical entities, a supergroup that lived up to its billing.
CSNs stunning 1969 self-titled debut album is one of the true masterpieces of the rock n roll canon. The album made it all the way to #6 on the Billboard charts and delivered two Top 40 Pop singles with Marrakesh Express and Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. Also features the CSN classics Guinnevere, Wooden Ships, Helplessly Hoping and Long Time Gone.
Crosby, Stills & Nash are a most important part of the brilliant history at Atlantic Records. Let the Good Times Roll: Half-Speed Mastered LP Sounds Amazing!
The Cars Classic 1978 Debut a Veritable Greatest Hits Album: Nearly Every Song a Radio Staple
My Best Friend's Girl, Just What I Needed, You're All I've Got Tonight Among the Tunes on the Hit Parade
One of the most successful and enjoyable debuts in history, The Cars self-titled album doubles as a greatest-hits collection. Thats because not one song here is unrecognized or unknown. A huge reason why the Boston quintet became Americas most popular new-wave band, The Cars launched eight tracks still regularly heard on radio stations everywhere. Consider the hit list: Youre All Ive Got Tonight. Good Times Roll. Just What I Needed. Moving in Stereo. My Best Friends Girl. Dont Cha Stop. If youre a fan of pop music, this album is mandatory. Just call it the best new-wave rock album ever made.
Led by Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr, the Cars managed to unite then-disparate styles: bubblegum pop melodies, angular art rock, progressive arrangements, and terse minimalism. Orrs low, understated singing and Ocaseks cool, detached vocals lend shades of doubt and double meaning to the lyrics, which are further counterbalanced by orchestral keyboard flourishes and electronic beats. The brilliant arrangements also benefit from a laidback cool and understated irony that remain uncommon in the over-the-top world of mainstream music. Obsessed with incorporating the latest technologies and sounds into its palette, the band spiced its tunes with delightfully quirky accentscountry-tinged guitar fills, echoing Syndrums, reggae splashes, hard-rock tones, robotic pulses.
The results are the sounds of a creative landmark. At once accessible and eccentric, edgy and catchy, The Cars explodes with emotion, energy, and hooks. Its impossible not to get caught up humming and singing along to every song, an appeal that comes courtesy of Roy Thomas Bakers stellar production. The legendary producer, best known for his work with Queen, ensured that the record seamlessly packed a smooth midrange, spacious imaging, and call-and-answer choruses in one tight package. Bakers trademark touches with harmony vocals abound.
And now, The Cars sounds better than it has in any previous incarnation. Half-speed mastered from the original analog tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition LP allows the musics oscillating rhythms, futuristic keyboard passages, panned stereo images, and rippling textures to be experienced like never before. The songs take on a surreal quality, the Cars manipulating the vibrant music at will to mesmerize the listeners senses and hold them at bay. Mobile Fidelitys unparalleled pressing epitomizes the sensation of moving in stereo!

4. I'm in Touch With Your World
5. Don't Cha Stop
6. You're All I've Got Tonight

 Surfer Rosa
Pixies
$29.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 315/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Remastered from Recently Discovered First-Generation, Original Analog Master Tapes
Numbered, Limited Edition
The Plymouth Rock on which alternative rock was founded, the Pixies' Surfer Rosa forever altered the music environment even if it did take most of the world a few years to catch up with its brilliance. Internationally acknowledged as a pioneering record, its rollercoaster blend of harsh and soft tempos, male and female singing, intense punk and bubblegum pop tones, dark and light quips, and off-kilter sensibilities is the influential equivalent of the Velvet Underground's oft-cited 1967 debut.
The 1987 debut established the Pixies as otherworldly visionaries whose songs such as the insistent 'Bone Machine,' badgering 'Something Against You,' and sensual 'Cactus' remain ahead of the curve. Having analog fanatic and noise aficionado Steve Albini working production ensured that the music would retain a requisite rawness and in-your-face sonic signature that paralleled the fundamentally chaotic, compulsive characteristics of the Pixies' songs.
And now, thanks to the painstaking efforts of Mobile Fidelity engineers, you will truly hear this groundbreaking record as if you were experiencing it for the first time. Vivid, immediate, massive, and detailed, this is how Surfer Rosa was meant to be heard when Albini completed it and turned it into the label.
Why pay $175 for the Pixies' Minotaur limited-edition box that features the band's four original records with dated (read: bland, compressed, and flat) sound when you can spend far less and, in addition to this superior 180-gram LP copy, you can also get hybrid SACDs of Surfer Rosa, Doolittle, and Bossanova that play in all CD players and feature remastered sound sourced from the original master tapes? Jeff Anderson, who oversaw the release of Minotaur, says there is no remastering on the box because he didn't want to touch the original master tapes. We did, and having finally hunted the true masters down, know you'll agree with our results.
'The heaviness and hugeness of the room-reverberating drumbeat that begins the album-opening 'Bone Machine' epitomizes the record's forward impact, visceral punch, grinding crunch, and dynamic headroom. Rather than cluttering the mix with an avalanche of effects, Albini left space without sacrificing live detail or volatile oomph, shown to great effect on 'Broken Face,' 'Gigantic (there's a piano, who knew?), and haunting 'Where Is My Mind?,' which opens unto a sonic canyon that swallows the listener whole. - Bob Gendron, The Absolute Sound, September 2007

 Armed Forces
Elvis Costello
$29.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 482/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Largely written on tour in hotel rooms and on the bus, Elvis Costellos Armed Forces takes personal politics to a new level. A supremely melodic and hook-laden record, the 1979 set is a showcase of scintillating keyboard lines, sharp guitar work, and the most cohesive arrangements of Costello and the Attractions career. In every way, this is a pop masterpiece, defined by hits such as Accidents Will Happen, Olivers Army, and the anthemic Whats So Funny Bout Peace Love and Understanding? You need this record.
While less musically intense than the preceding This Years Model, Armed Forces doesnt let up in the lyric department. Costellos narratives are loaded with paranoia, irony, bitterness, and scathing humor. Originally titled Emotional Fascism, the singers third consecutive masterpiece is inspired by billboard sign slogans, insular observations, and social behavior that Costello found applicable to his own situation. Olivers Army, Green Shirt, and Senior Service address systemic governmental control. Big Boys, Two Little Hitlers, and Accidents Will Happen also concern control and betrayalbut that of the interpersonal nature.
Given the luxury of six weeks in the studio, Costello and the Attractions responded with spacious arrangements and a few extra touches and instrumental colors that add to the songs charm. Steve Nieve employs a monophonic Minimoog keyboard and pianos patterned after Abbas sweet pop; whispers are exaggerated into black comedy shouts on Goon Squad; layered and echoed vocals provide the illusion of several Costello voices on multiple tracks. The band is of a piece, constantly in harmony and on the same page.
Half-speed mastered from the original tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition 180-gram LP presents the vibrant dynamics of Armed Forces timeless pop songs in the highest possible fidelity. This album has never sounded so full, rich, airy, spacious, detailed, or necessary. The textures and voicings of Nieves keyboards are alone worth the investment. This pressing will have you dancing in the aisles and analyzing Costellos brilliant turns of phrase for years to come.

 This Year's Model
Elvis Costello
$29.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 98/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The first record he made with his legendary backing band the Attractions, This Years Model is Elvis Costellos most explosive and urgent album. Picking up where his fine My Aim Is True left off, the British singer/guitarist blasts through 13 excellent tracks with the fervent purpose and headlong pace of someone who has a cab waiting for him outside.
Stylistically versatile, deeply varied, and melodically catchy, this where Costello came into his ownand where the chemistry between virtuosic keyboardist Steve Nieve, bassist Bruce Thomas, and drummer Pete Thomas produced one of rocks best groups. A dynamic maelstrom of emotional spite, bitter frustration, sexual angst, and caustic political commentary, the 1978 set boosted Costellos star and yielded innumerable standards: the undying MOR protest Radio Radio, fervent Pump It Up, smart (I Dont Want to Go to) Chelsea, and spunky No Action are all here.
While often cited as Costellos angry record, This Years Model has more to do with disappointments and denials. The album bursts forth with a savage energy not possible without the Attractions, which are responsible for the songs being built from the ground up. Where Costellos voice and twangy guitar dominate My Aim Is True, here, sizzling rhythms and Nieves colorful organ runs anchor the foundations. This is a group effort, with Costellos biting lyrics taking chances and forcing the listener to mull double meanings all the while the music zooms by at a fast clip.
More than 30 years after its original release, This Years Model will still leave you breathless. Railing against unachievable desires, Costello and company delight in the anguish, and spit such torment back out in the form of hook-ridden music that functions as a brilliant form of situational confirmation and emotional catharsis.
Half-speed mastered from the original tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition 180-gram LP brings This Years Models vicious songs to the forefront like never before. Punchier, gutsier, and livelier than any of the myriad CD remasters, this analog edition offers a transparent window onto the Attractions' loose interplay, Nieve's carnivalesque organ work, and rabid pounce of the Thomas-Thomas rhythm section. Here, for the first time, are previously buried tones, textures, and details. It took years to happen, but this is how This Years Model was always supposed to sound.

 My Aim Is True
Elvis Costello
$29.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 168/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Elvis Costellos remarkable My Aim Is True announces the arrival of a singular talent. Having long ago secured its status as one of the greatest debut albums ever recorded, the 1977 set hasnt lost any of the vibrant urgency, lyrical edge, or biting wit that made Costello the pin-up model for new-wave music.
Blending punk-fueled motivation with pub-rock, reggae, and classic American rock n roll strains, the landmark effort includes many of the singers best-known and most beloved tunes: the poisoned ballad Alison, voyeuristic Watching the Detectives, slinky (The Angels Want to Wear My) Red Shoes, and rave-up Mystery Dance included. There isnt a bad note here.
The history behind My Aim Is True is as rich as the songs. Before landing at then-fledgling English indie label Stiff Records, Costello had been laboring as a computer operator housed next door to a lipstick factory. The conditions couldnt be riper for the cynical blue-collar observations and fierce humor that pierce tracks like Welcome to the Working Week and Less Than Zero. Costello took inspiration from London subway rides, venomous politics, and surrounding vanity. Having been rejected by what he estimated amounted to every other label in the city, Costello began calling in sick to his day job in order to record material for what become My Aim Is True.
Made for just 1000 pounds and over the course of four six-hour sessions, the experience found Costello recording his parts in a room the size of a telephone booth. His backing bandClover, not the Attractions (save for on Watching the Detectives, left off the original UK release)rounded out the slinky, melodic songs with spare details such as fuzztone pedal steel guitar and organ. The minimal budget ensured that nothing extra or fancy was employed. Overdubs werent really an option; what was played is basically what you hear.
Notorious for being reissued umpteen times, Mobile Fidelity is thrilled to present the one edition of My Aim Is True that every fan needs to own. Half-speed mastered from the original master tapesnot from copies as so many other versions areand pressed on 180-gram vinyl, this numbered limited-edition LP is the definitive My Aim Is True. No compromises, no tricks. Just the music delivered with peerless clarity, purity, and transparency. The rawness of Costellos voice, jangle of the rhythms, hum of the organs, and even the impact of the drumsticks have never been experienced with such realism. This is what organic-sounding albums are supposed to sound like. You will hear this again for the first time. And of course, there's the iconic cover art, presented in full-scale perspective.

The 1965 album Today! was the Beach Boys' eighth studio album and the first of three to be released that year. The album features a fine mix of upbeat numbers like Do You Wanna Dance and Help Me Rhonda and ballads such as Please Let Me Wonder and Kiss Me, Baby. Aside from their opus Pet Sounds, Today! is the Beach Boys' most highly acclaimed release.

Ranked 100/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Frank Sinatra's 1955 Nelson Riddle arranged In the Wee Small Hours features a fine collection of ballads specially recorded for this particular release. Sinatra perfected the concept album with the set as previous 10 records had generally contained selections of performer's random hits not tied together by anything other than the artist performing them. The cover which features a solemn, pensive Sinatra against a nighttime street setting, reinforces the theme of the ballad-ridden affair.

Limited Edition In 2009, Kraftwerk have upgraded their Kling Klang masters with the latest studio technology and these magnificent recordings still sound like nothing else in the history of music. Kraftwerk are unique, pristine, profound and beautiful. Decades may pass, but their streamlined synthetic symphonies stand outside time, as fresh as tomorrow, transcendent and sublime.
Though they'd recorded three previous albums, Kraftwerk's modern pop legacy starts with this impressionistic excursion down Germany's famed superhighway. The rhythmic synth pulse that carries the title track is a sonic revelation while co-founder Florian Schneider's flute work and other more delicate melodic touches hearken back to the band's prog-rock foundations as do the atmospheric Kometenmelodie 1 & 2, Mitternacht and Morgenspaziergang.

Court And Spark completed Joni Mitchell's transition from folk-singer to sophisticated rock auteur. In addition to her meticulously crafted melodies and evocative, image-rich lyrics, the songs here are breezy and immediately appealing. This is in part due to Tom Scott's L.A. Express, a sinuous jazz-based combo, but also to Mitchell's knack for pop hooks. The album's accessibility made it Mitchell's most commercially successful, yet the personal intensity and insight of her songwriting never wavers. Court And Spark confirmed her standing as one of the most important and subtle talents of the rock era.

Double LP
Cut from master tapes at Abbey Road Studios!
Beautiful packaging that includes double-sided photo montage, lyric sheet and 4 solo color photos.
The Beatles is the ninth official album by the English rock group The Beatles, a double album released in 1968. It is also commonly known as "The White Album" as it has no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed on its plain white sleeve.
The album was written and recorded during a period of turmoil for the group, after visiting the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India and having a particularly productive songwriting session in early 1968. Returning to the studio, the group recorded from May to October 1968, only to have conflict and dissent drive the group members apart. Ringo Starr quit the band for a brief time, leaving Paul McCartney to play drums on two tracks. Many of the songs were "solo" recordings, or at least by less than the full group, as each individual member began to explore his own talent.
Upon release in November 1968, the album received largely positive reviews and reached number 1 on the charts in the United Kingdom and the United States. The album is notable for the eclectic nature of its songs, which has divided critics in evaluating its legacy. The album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and was listed at number 10 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list.
A team consisting of some of the best producers and engineers in the recording industry were brought together and would spend 4 long years mixing and mastering with some of the most state of the art recording equipment. treating these records much like a science experiment, engineers ran extensive tests before copying the analog master tapes over into a digital format using 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and carefully removing clicks, vocal pops and poor edits. Never altering the original songs themselves, just polishing them up a bit.

When The Wu-Tang Clan dropped their debut LP in 1993 they created a blueprint for Hip- Hop for years to come. The album was immediately recognized as a landmark album, with its raw production and explicit lyrics drenched in martial-arts symbolism and humour.
The group, obviously fond of kung-fu movies, renamed their Staten Island home base 'Shoalin' as a tribute to their favorite 1978 movie ´The 36th Chamber of Shaolin´. Musical mastermind and ringmaster The RZA used loads of sound bites and samples from kung fu movies for his bleak, raw Wu-Tang sound.
The Wu-Tang Clan collective proved a creative crew, releasing many solo albums of their core members (most notable: Method Man, Genius/GZA, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and the late Ol'Dirty Bastard!), yet the success of their first album as a group was never to be topped.
While it's safe to say you can´t even measure the heaviness of the Wu-Tang we tried to come as close as we could with our heavyweight 180 grams vinyl pressing of their landmark album.

 Happy Trails (Pure Pleasure)
Quicksilver Messenger Service

180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 189/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Without question, this follow-up to Quicksilver Messenger Service's self-titled debut release is the most accurate in portraying the band on vinyl in the same light as the group's critically and enthusiastically acclaimed live performances. The album is essentially centered around the extended reworkings of Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" and "Mona", as well as the lesser lauded — yet no less intense — contribution of Gary Duncan's (guitar/vocals) "Calvary". This album is the last to feature the original quartet incarnation of QMS. The collective efforts of John Cipollina (guitar/vocals), Greg Elmore (percussion), David Freiberg (bass/vocals), and the aforementioned Duncan retain the uncanny ability to perform with a psychedelic looseness of spirit, without becoming boring or in the least bit pretentious. The side-long epic "Who Do You Love?" suite is split into an ensemble introduction and coda as well as four distinct sections for the respective bandmembers.
Musicians:
- John Cipollina (guitar)
- Gary Duncan (guitar, vocals)
- David Freiberg (bass, vocals)
- Greg Elmore (drums, percussion)
About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s – or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Becks Sea Change remains the best record of the indie icons career. And how. The sonic chameleon shocked the world in 2002 with this warm-sounding folk-pop albuma sincere, honest, and mature meditation on the end of a nine-year relationship with his girlfriend. As for the vocalists trademark irony, sarcasm, and humor? Not here. In their place is an affecting emotionalism to which anyone whos ever been in (or out) of love will relate. The music is equally personal and meditative. Gorgeous string arrangements come courtesy of his father, David Campbell, and illustrate the heartbreak that informs the beautiful melodies and tranquil moods.
Best of all, this album is anything but a bummer. Intending to be heard to from start to finish, Beck begins the record with songs conveying emptiness and loss, and gradually moves on to narratives that detail what changes are necessary to regain a sense of identity, purpose, and feeling. By the time he reaches the concluding Little One, the healing has begun. Consider this Becks mellowest golda feat confirmed by its selection as the #2 record of 2002 on Village Voices all-encompassing Pazz & Jop poll.
And now, thanks to truly painstaking remastering efforts, this embraceable and intimate gem sounds better than ever. No lie. Master tapes of every cut were delivered to Mobile Fidelity engineers on a separate reel, with the finished product taking months to perfect. Unlike previous digital versions, no compression or dynamic processing was used, making this half-speed mastered 180-gram 2-LP set not just the definitive version its the only analog version worth owning!

Child Is The Father To The Man

Vinyl LP - Sealed

Ranked 264/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Although they would go on to become one of the most commercially successful acts of the 1970s, most observers agree that Blood, Sweat & Tears 1968 debut effort Child Is Father to the Man remains the ambitious ensembles finest and most enduring musical statement. The bands only album under the leadership of legendary singer / keyboardist Al Kooper, Child Is Father to the Man stands with such late-60s art-pop landmarks as the Zombies Odessey and Oracle and Loves Forever Changes in capturing the periods seemingly limitless creative possibilities.
Child Is Father to the Man is a brilliant reflection of the desire of Koopera former member of the seminal Blues Project and a key collaborator in Bob Dylans early electric workto use an expanded instrumental lineup to explore a broader range of sounds, styles and compositional approaches. Towards that end, he launched Blood, Sweat & Tears, recruiting a stellar assortment of players from the worlds of rock and jazz, including ex-Blues Project guitarist Steve Katz, former Buffalo Springfield/Mothers of Invention bassist Jim Fielder, jazz drummer Bobby Colomby and noted jazz horn players Randy Brecker, Dick Halligan, Fred Lipsius and Jerry Weiss.
The resulting album (produced by fabled studio genius John Simon) was a seamlessly eclectic psychedelic-rock-jazz-classical fusion, with such diverse tracks as Koopers gritty compositions I Cant Quit Her and I Love You More Than Youll Ever Know, as well as his playfully arty House in the Country and The Modern Adventures of Plato, Diogenes and Freud, along with stirring readings of Tim Buckleys Morning Glory, Harry Nilssons Without Her and Randy Newmans Just One Smile.
Koopers expansive musical vision may have been a bit too far ahead of its time. Although it was a favorite of early FM album-rock DJs, Child Is Father to the Man barely scraped the Billboard Top 50 and failed to produce a hit single. However, in the years since, the album has been widely recognized for its expressiveness and originality, and embraced by successive generations of listeners. For instance, it received a prominent placement in Rolling Stones 2003 ranking of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Now, Child Is Father to the Man is back in its original vinyl format with Sundazeds definitive new LP edition. With meticulously reproduced original cover art, this vintage musical landmark has been remastered from the original analog master tapes and is pressed on high-quality, high-definition vinyl.

The importance of Harry Smith's work can not be overstated. Not only did he single-handedly save much of American folk music from extinction, but when he handed his record collection over to Smithsonian folkways in 1952, he opened the floodgates for the American folk revival of the following decade. Not since John and Alan Lomax had anyone paid so much attention to saving the American folk song from extinction, but unlike the Lomaxes, Smith was not a government worker armed with a tape recorder, he was just a guy from Portland, Oregon armed with a love for music and an insatiably curious mind. So, when the U.S. Government began melting down old records to be used as shellac during WWII, Smith kicked into high gear, buying up as many old 78s from the '20s and '30s as he could find. Much of the music found here then, comes from a time before television, arm-in-arm with rock & roll, began beaming its ber-culture into every household in America erasing much of what had grown up locally in each area. As can be heard so beautifully on these ballads, prior to WWII America was in many ways no more than a patchwork of territories, with local cultures and musical traditions reaching both far into the immigrant past of each area's inhabitants, but also into the future to create something wonderful and firmly rooted in the newness and adventure of life on this new continent.

Pissed off and angry is the best way to describe Rage Against the Machine's first album. A fierce mix of hip-hop, punk & heavy rock exploded all over the music scene in 1992.
At first sight an unlikely band; Tom Morello, a nerdy guitarhero who played his guitar like a DJ, political activist Zack de la Rocha who spitted out his lyrics with a vengeance. Together with Brad Wilk on drums and Tim C. on bass they produced one of the most angry records of 90's.
The album even contained, dare we say it, hitsingles like Killing in the name of and Bullet in the head.
Put the needle on the record and get blown away (again)!

 After The Gold Rush

Ranked 71/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The second of three consecutive masterpieces Neil Young recorded between 1969 and 1972, After the Gold Rush captures the vibes, emotions, and cautious optimism of the era better than any album of its time. Moreover, it contains a host of impeccably written and performed songs that transcend the period and stand as an inextricable part of the American conscious.
Recorded at Youngs Topanga Canyon Ranch and featuring backing from the legendary Crazy Horse, the then-unknown prodigy Nils Lofgren, and several other friends, the 1970 album embraces many of the seemingly artistic contradictions and eccentric diversity that have made Young so peerless. The title track, a devastatingly gorgeous balladic meditation on the '60s and a warning of what may come in the 1970s, proved prophetic. Every other song is equally spectacular and significant.
The bristling whip-crack of Southern Man furthered Youngs no-holds-barred political commentary and prompted a response song in the form of Lynyrd Skynyrds Sweet Home Alabama, an anthem that its target praised. The country heartache of Oh, Lonesome Me simultaneously plays off and into the romantic spirit of the uplifting Dont Let It Bring You Down and the exuberant romp of When You Dance You Can Really Love. In one swoop, Young and company traverse the Heartland, Southern plantations, Appalachian valleys, and Los Angeles hills.
Having languished for decades, this masterwork (named as one of the '100 Best Albums of All-Time' by Rolling Stone) has finally received the long-overdue sonic treatment its deserved. Remastered from the original tapes by Youngs expert team and overseen by the artist himself, After the Gold Rush now sounds better than ever. Young has never sounded so immediate, detailed, rich, or present on a studio album.
The record joins 1968's Neil Young, 1969s Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, and 1972s Harvest as part of the initial batch of Young recordings pristinely mastered from the original tapes, pressed on high-quality audiophile-grade LP, and packaged in sleeves that faithfully mirror those of the originals.

 Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Neil Young

Ranked 208/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
A colossal effort that signifies his first collaboration with Crazy Horse, bar-none the best garage-rock support band ever assembled, Neil Youngs Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere explodes with loose electricity, country-influenced harmonies, and fervent interplay that took melodic rock music in then-unforeseen directions. Moving away from the mellow fare that distinguished his self-titled debut, the pioneering Canadian icon stretches out and showcases his penchant for unhinged guitar solos and drifting arrangements.
Having come across the Rockets while recording his first solo outing, Young spared no time in recruiting the band for his own purposes. With the trio of Danny Whitten, drummer Ralph Molina, and bassist Billy Talbot renamed Crazy Horse, and Young ready with an energetic collection of tunes that called out for longer instrumentals and raw tones, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere was recorded in a scant two weeks time and just four months after Youngs prior effort.
His symbiotic chemistry with fellow kindred spirit and rhythm guitarist Whitten is evident on the drawn-out Cowgirl In the Sand and murderous Down By the River, both a tangle of rolling narratives, mysterious tension, amplified feedback, and longing emotion which remain staples in Youngs live repertoire. As does Cinnamon Girl, which is distinguished by one of the most famous and magnetic riffs of all time. At this stage of his career, Young had never written such an engaging and expressive set of songs and the album remains a landmark on which every tune is a classic.
Having languished for decades, this masterwork has finally received the long-overdue sonic treatment its needed. Remastered from the original tapes by Youngs expert team and overseen by the artist himself, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere now sounds better than ever. Ranked 142/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
In 1963, visionary producer Phil Spector, then at the peak of his creativity and cultural influence, created one of the first and still one of the greatest rock n roll Christmas albums. Using the artist roster of his Philles label the Ronettes, the Crystals, Darlene Love and Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeansand the legendary studio musicians of the Wrecking Crew, Spector applied his fabled Wall of Sound to a set of Christmas pop standards and holiday-themed originals.
The resulting album brilliantly merges the holiday spirit with the singular sonic uplift of the Spector sound. Highlights include the Ronettes bubbly reworkings of Sleigh Ride, Frosty the Snowman and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, the Crystals upbeat renditions of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Darlene Loves soulful readings of Winter Wonderland, White Christmas and the Ellie Greenwich/Jeff Barry/Phil Spector composition Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). A Christmas Gift for You concludes with a rare on-mike appearance by Spector himself, delivering a spoken holiday message to listeners.
A Christmas Gift for You originally had the misfortune of being released on November 22, 1963, the same day as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and was not a major commercial success. In the years since, however, it has been embraced as a beloved pop-culture touchstone, with many of its tracks becoming holiday airplay favorites. Longtime Spector fan Brian Wilson has named it as his all-time favorite LP. The albums influence has also been reflected in cover versions by contemporary artists. Bruce Springsteen based his interpretation of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town on the Crystals Spectorized version, while U2 closely followed Darlene Loves original when covering Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).

1. White Christmas - Darlene Love

Ranked 311/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Recorded in November 1993, less than six months before singer Kurt Cobain killed himself, Nirvanas MTV Unplugged is a watershed document that presents a band at the peak of its powers. Unlike any other unplugged affair, the diverse album is not a simple stripped-down regurgitation of greatest hits or a cash-it-in set of nostalgic favorites. Rather, the live effort is among the most emotionally naked spectacles ever released an album so starkly intense and profoundly personal, its impossible not to get chills down the spine.
Made primarily with acoustic instrumentsGrohl even trades sticks for brushes, Krist Novoselic picks up an accordion, and cellist Lori Goldston prominently figures in the arrangementsUnplugged in New York reveals Nirvanas folksier side and clear ambition to move beyond abrasive rock. The setlist is as surprising as the stylistic makeover. Save for renditions of All Apologies and Come As You Are, the adventurous material includes brooding covers of the Meat Puppets' Lake of Fire, Plateau, and Oh Me as well as harrowing versions of David Bowies The Man Who Sold the World, and the Vaselines Jesus Dont Want Me for a Sunbeam.
And then there's the heart-shattering climax. Intensely private and disturbingly primal, Nirvana's rendition of the Leadbelly standard Where Did You Sleep Last Night takes its place among the most cathartic songs ever committed to record. Its the musical equivalent of the insides of Cobain's soul being ripped out and put out display for all to see.
Hurry! Do not pass up this chance to own the Nirvana swan song that Rolling Stone named one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time!

London Calling is the 3rd album by English punkrockers The Clash and was released on December 14th 1979. The album represented a change in The Clash's musical style and featured more diverse elements; Ska, pop, soul, rockabilly and reggae influences were more audible than on their previous albums. The cover is clearly a tribute to Elvis Presley's selftitled album sleeve, whereas the album's subject matters vary from unemployment, racial conflict, drug use and the responsibilities of adulthood. Recordings took only a couple of weeks time and most songs were cut in 2 or 3 takes.
The album received unanimously positive reviews and was ranked high in quite some All Time Greatest Albums listings (number 8 on Rolling Stone's list, number 4 on Q Magazine's list). London Calling was a top 10 album in the UK, and its title track was a top 20 single. In 2007, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, for being a collection of recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance.

After the success of Rage Against The Machine's eponymous debut LP and follow-up 'Evil Empire´ this third album is another hard-hitting collection of songs full of political and social consciousness. With their catchy, yet raw heavy riffs and grooves they succeeded to release another album with actual hitsingles ('Guerilla Radio' and 'Testify' ). However, it proved their last album full of original material; the follow-ups contained either covers (Renegades) or live-performances. With Battle of Los Angeles, the ´triple treat´ was completed.
Rolling Stone Magazine ranked the album at no. 423 in their 500 Greatest Albums Ever list. After several musical excursions by all members, the original Rage Against The Machine line-up performed live on various occasions in 2007, but a new studio album has yet to see the light.

The great manifesto of the psychedelic rock era, the Jimi Hendrix Experience's Electric Ladyland is the culmination of resounding experimentation and several years of band chemistry, as well as Hendrix's continual development as a guitarist seemingly capable of anything and limited only by what he couldn't think of doing. As the trio's final studio recording together, it's also the band's most adventurous, and collaborative, as Steve Winwood, Al Kooper, Buddy Miles, Jack Casady, and Chris Wood all make guest apprarances. Featuring everything from sensitive wah-wah playing (Burning of the Midnight Lamp) to the all-time best version of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower, with Hendrix infusing the song with requisite mystery and mayhem, to the magnetic riff passages of Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Electric Ladyland remains one of the most fully realized and referenced recordings in history. And until now, it's never received the sonic facelift it's not only needed, but deserved.
Mastered from the original analog tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this 2LP set is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. This is also the first-ever audiophile edition of Electric Ladyland. We guarantee it will absolutely blow away whatever analog or digital version you've heard before. It's no wonder that this release spearheads Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history.
Ranked by Rolling Stone as the 54th greatest album ever made, Electric Ladyland epitomizes the passion, soulfulness, exoticism, and emotion that makes music such a part of our life. You will not want to live without this record. Even in death, Hendrix lives forever.

 Are You Experienced?

180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 15/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
It's a collection of free feeling and imagination, said Jimi Hendrix about his boundlessly influential and still-pioneering 1967 debut album. A touchstone of psychedelic rock, the psychedelic era, and guitar-driven poetry, Are You Experienced remains one of the greatest albums ever released in any genre. Setting a then-unheard-of standard for what was possible with melodic feedback, rock, jazz, blues, soul, and pop fusion, and otherworldly guitar playing, the set is simultaneously rooted in the classism of the past, currency of the present, and promise of the future. Ranked as the 16th greatest album ever released by Rolling Stone, here is the record that inspired countless guitar heroes via frenzied jams, dream-laden landscapes, mind-melting performances, and amplifer-buzzing volumes. No guitarist has yet to master let alone catch up with Hendrix's visions. And the songwriting positively sings. Nobody should be without this record, which now sounds better than anyone can imagine.
Mastered from the original 2-track mix-down analog master tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this 2LP set is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. With all apologies to the previous Classic and Universal pressings, this Legacy edition is not only clearly better but much cheaper. You can't go wrong. Decisions don't come easier.
It's no wonder that this release helps anchor Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history. Featuring ageless classics such as Purple Haze, Red House, Stone Free, Hey Joe, and Are You Experienced, albums don't get more essential than this. A building block for every music collection.

Ranked 82/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Very few albums radically change the musical and cultural landscape, altering our perceptions by way of a mad combination of forward-looking performance, liberating lyrical narratives, spiritual overtones, and unimaginable sounds. Jimi Hendrix's sophomore Axis: Bold As Love is one of those records, a timeless and prophetic set that still seems as if it comes to us from the future. Unrelentingly ambitious, deeply mythical, and profoundly virtuosic, the stupendous 1967 collection dives into a pool of lustful psychedelia, earthy blues, cosmic soul, and unhinged rock. Along with jazz-schooled drummer Mitch Mitchell and melodic bassist Noel Redding, Hendrix establishes a new musical language, a foundation on which fellow guitar giants such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, and Prince would build. Ranked by Rolling Stone as the 82nd greatest album ever released, and leagues ahead of its time, Axis: Bold As Love is an absolute must-have for every music lover. Particularly now that it's finally been afforded the sonic treatment it's always deserved.
Mastered from the original two-track mix-down analog master tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this LP is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. With all apologies to previous editions from Classic and Universal, this pressing blows away any competition. It's no wonder that this release spearheads Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history.
Featuring seminal classics such as Spanish Castle Magic, Little Wing, and Castles Made Of Sand, Axis: Bold As Love stands as one of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's monumental moments, a tapestry scorched with color, sewn together with erotic threads, and varnished with rich personality. Do not miss this seminal pressing of a most seminal recording.

‘Sweetheart of the Rodeo’ is the 6th album by American rock / country band The Byrds and was originally released on August 30, 1968. Where the band’s previous LP, ‘The Notorious Byrd Brothers’, had an overall psychedelic rock sound, Sweetheart became purely a country record. Although The Byrds were no strangers to country music, it was country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons who had taken the band deep into the sound and feeling of classic country & western. Parsons, who had joined the band just for a short while, would experience this album to be an important chapter in his musical career since the record brought him to the attention of a mainstream rock audience.
‘Sweetheart of the Rodeo’ might not be the most commercial album of The Byrds, but today the record is considered to be one of the most influential country-rock albums in the history of music. Rolling Stone Magazine praised the album in its September 1968 issue, with Jon Landau writing “The Byrds, in doing country as country, show just how powerful and relevant unadorned country music is to the music of today.” Landau added “they leave just enough rock in the drums to let you know that they can still play rock & roll.”

The conception of ''Sketches of Spain'' in 1960, can be placed in the ''most melodic era'' of Miles Davis. It is one of his most accessible and less improvisational albums, some even outclassed it from the reigns of Jazz.
This is one of the four albums where Miles and Gil Evans (arranger & conductor) were together with a small orchestra of horns and percussion, and it was fueled by Spanish melodies that fascinated Davis to the point he needed to get into them and go beyond: El Concierto de Arajuez by Joaquín Rodrigo and El Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla.

 Red Headed Stranger

180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 184/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Following the brilliant Phases And Stages, Willie's debut for Columbia is a brilliant concept album (nearly unheard of in country music) based around the song and story of the "Red Headed Stranger." Although the song had been previously recorded by Eddy Arnold, it was Willie who would take the song to a much higher level by putting together an entire cycle of songs based around the tragic story of the Red Headed Stranger. Nelson's album is a stunning mix of original and classic songs. Among the highlights are his heartfelt interpretations of "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain," "Time Of The Preacher" and "Can I Sleep In Your Arms" by the prolific songwriter Hank Cochran.
Red Headed Stranger also features Willie's Family, his band, featuring his sister Bobbie (piano), Jody Payne (guitar, mandolin), the impeccable harmonica of Mickey Raphael and the ever-flawless Billy English on drums. The sound of the new Impex 180-gram LP, cut from the original analog master tapes by George Marino at Sterling Mastering, will become the new reference for clarity, realism and, above all, duplicating the inimitable sound of Willie's incredible singing voice.

Ranked 344/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Nowadays acclaimed as Lou Reed's best solo album, 'Berlin' is the follow up to Reed's 'Transformer'.
A tragic rock opera about a drug addicted couple, heavy orchestrated and musically far away from the glam-rock of 'Transformer' and closer to the art-rock of the Velvet Underground (there are 2 tracks here played live by Velvet Underground in 1966, and Caroline Says is of course a redo of Stephanie Says from Velvet Underground's self- titled album).
The album got poor reviews when released in July 1973. Nevertheless, like good wines, 'Berlin' has aged and proved an inspiration for many bands.
Lou Reed got so disillusioned by the harsh critics, he did not include songs form 'Berlin' (recorded in London w/Bob Ezrin) in his live set for years.
In 2007 Lou Reed fulfilled his hopes and toured 'Berlin' with a 30-piece band; this tour was filmed and released on dvd in 2008 (which got rave reviews...).
Musicians on LP: Lou Reed (vocals & acoustic guitar), Bob Ezrin, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Jack Bruce, Ansley Dunbar, Tony Levin, Steve Winwood, Steve Hunter, Dick Wagner a.o.

Ranked 7/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Upon its original 1972 release more than three decades ago, Exile on Main Street innovatively wove varying musical genres, instruments and even artists into a compelling rhythmic masterpiece. The 18-track double-album was recorded in various stages at multiple locations, including Olympic Studios in London, Keith Richards' mansion Nellcote in France, and in Los Angeles where the literal 'Main Street' influenced the album title. These atypical circumstances surrounding the recording process greatly affected the album's outcome which was highly reflective and influenced by the socio-political turbulence that marked the late `60s and early `70s.
The Stones nixed the influences of a flower-child era and directed their creative process with the edgier, excessive, more is more approach of the `70s. Exile reveals a sprawling mix of genres with undertones of blues, country, R&B and gospel mixed with lyrics that fervently demand for release and liberation.
The album pulled together an electric array of talent including Dr. John, the late Billy Preston, and pianist Nicky Hopkins. Guitarist Mick Taylor, who replaced Brian Jones in the band shortly before Jones died in 1969, is a magnificent blues player who brought an intensity and elegance to these epic tracks. At times, these musicians and others lived on the recording studio premises with the band creating an extremely open and creative collaboration for the album.

Thriller is the sixth studio album by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was released on November 30, 1982, by Epic Records as the follow-up to Jackson's critically and commercially successful 1979 album Off the Wall. Thriller explores similar genres to those of Off the Wall, including pop, R&B, rock, post-disco, and adult contemporary music.
Recording sessions took place between April and November 1982 at Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California, with a production budget of $750,000, assisted by producer Quincy Jones. Of the nine tracks on the album, four of them were written by Jackson himself. Seven singles were released from the album, all of which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Three of the singles had music videos released. "Baby Be Mine" and "The Lady in My Life" were the only tracks that were not released as singles. In just over a year, Thriller became—and currently remains—the best-selling album of all time, with sales estimated by various sources as being between 65 and 110 million copies worldwide

"Jefferson Airplane", wrote the magazine Rolling Stone, "is a ship which transports its passengers to the revolutionary fantasies of their own minds." If only the group had included such well-formulated psychological analyses in their lyrics, then they would probably not have shot so meteorically into the orbit of the psychedelic 'acid rock' scene. And what is more: as self-appointed executors of chaos and anarchy, they ‘turned on’ their fans with musical sexual allegories, drug-extolling lyrics and revolutionary songs. In 1966, armed with a lucrative recording contract from RCA-Victor, they won through against much opposition from recording company bosses and released their album "Volunteers", thereby bringing what is probably the very best recording from their early years to the public.
The music of these rock rebels is, in fact, a good deal less drastic than their texts. The leaders of the combo, Marty Balin and Paul Kantner, both of whom grew up in the Californian folk scene, have put their stake on melodic and rhythmically close-knit rock and multi-part vocals. And even today, one is still astounded by the wide range of styles favoured by the hippie generation, which stretches from the down-to-earth country music of "The Farm" to the electronically distorted collage "Meadowlands".
Musicians:
- Grace Slick (vocal, organ)
- Marty Balin (vocal)
- Paul Kantner (vocal)
- Jerry Garcia (guitar)
- Jorma Kaukonen (guitar)
- Steven Stills (organ)
- Nicky Hopkins (piano)
- Jack Casady (bass)

So much has been said and written about Miles Davis Kind Of Blue, its virtually impossible to summarize all the necessary info to the length of this note. We could simply list some facts (best sold Jazz album ever worldwide). We could try to explain why its the best jazz album ever made, but the music itself will do that to you. As Bill Evans said in the original liner notes for the record, the band did not play through any of these pieces prior to recording. Miles Davis laid out the themes before the tape rolled and the band improvised.
The end results were fragile and wondrous. Recorded during 2 sessions in 1959, Kind of Blue worked on many different levels and will do so for many years to come. We´re proud to announce a very special version of the most influential (jazz)album ever. We present the orginal album in remastered form plus an extra LP containing 2 tracks that werent available on vinyl before (an alternate take of Flamenco Sketches and a version of On Green Dolphin Street recorded prior to the Kind of Blue sessions, with the legendary line-up of Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb).
Also, we´ve graced this first-time ever 2LP edition of this musical masterpiece with a gatefold sleeve with additional liner notes.

After their 1972 breakthrough album & hitsingle All The Young Dudes, Mott The Hoople released their Mott album.
The single 'All the Way from Memphis' received considerable airplay on U.S. radio and the LP became the band's best seller to date in the U.S. Using the glam rock craze as their launch pad, the band straddled the widening gap between the teen-pop market and the college circuit. The LP Mott climbed into the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart.
By the time Mott was released it was clear that Ian Hunter had become the dominant figure of the band. Aside from the lead track, the album includes introspective songs such as Ballad of Mott The Hoople, which exposes Mott's near break-up, and the peculiar I Wish I Was Your Mother, featuring multi-tracked mandolin, in which Hunter sings of his wish to see his love as a child. Hard rockers are given their due with 'Whizz Kid', 'Drivin' Sister', 'Violence' and 'Honaloochie Boogie'. A fine performance is delivered by Hunter in the almost religious 'Hymn for the Dudes'.
In 2003, the album was ranked number 366 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

 A Love Supreme
John Coltrane

Ranked 47/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Right from the very first hearing, absolutely every single jazzcritic shared the same opinion – whether trained musicians or not, true or would-be jazz expert: “A Love Supreme” is John Coltrane’s most important recording. And the rave reviews which appeared in the magazines Downbeat, Jazz Hot, Jazz Podium and Swingjournal reflected this: critics all over the world, in America, Europe and Japan recognized that Coltrane’s deep religious belief had influenced both his approach to life and his music-making. It not only enabled him to express himself with great intensity but also lent him the necessary inner peace to conceive a work of almost 40 minutes in length and to lead his quartet along the same path as himself.
The first section, entitled “Acknowledgement”, has a forceful bass line which runs throughout the whole work. The powerful sound increases in intensity, whereby the bass motif undergoes constant modulation, with John Coltrane’s meditative singing creating immense tension.
In “Resolution” Coltrane’s powerful, quasi hymnlike expression comes to the fore, with McCoy Tyner achieving equal intensity in his solo. “Pursuance”, with its density, quick-as-lightning runs and block chords, gives us a taste of John Coltrane’s later ‘free’ phase. “Psalm” is filled with the famous, almost static melodies rather like a fervent prayer which are so typical for John Coltrane. “A Love Supreme” has been a faithful companion and teacher of generations of saxophonists and its message goes way beyond Music and is still valid today.
Musicians:
John Coltrane (tenor saxophone)

Long argued as one of the (if not THE) best rock recording ever and a permanent fixture on many a demo system in the late '70s and '80s, Aja was the culmination of everything Donald Fagen and Walter Becker aspired to accomplish in their storied careers. It was the first album certified platinum (eventually selling more than 5 million copies in the U.S.) by the then-new RIAA sales tracking system. It made Steely Dan superstars. It contained three ubiquitous U.S. Top 40 singles in Peg, Josie and Deacon Blues, though each of the seven tracks are wonderful.
Steely Dan's meticulously crafted sixth album was Walter Becker and Donald Fagen's stab at becoming mainstream jazz-pop superstars. And thanks to sweet, smart, slippery tracks like "Deacon Blues" and "Peg," they did just that – and won a Grammy for Best Engineered album too.

Giant Steps was recorded in 1959 by John Coltrane. This was the first album where all songs recorded were original compositions of Coltrane. The album showcases Coltrane's masterful improvisational style that is now known as "sheets of sound". Giant Steps is often used as a practice piece because of its chord progression, and is seen by jazz musicians as the standard for modern jazz, also being used as a gauge of measuring a musician's improvisational skill. Soon after the release of Giant Steps, Coltrane ventured into modal jazz, so this album is often viewed as his farewell to bebop.

Ranked 248/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Bad behavior gets in the way of business. This is a message that purveys throughout Jay-Z's seminal debut Reasonable Doubt. While most of us are used to seeing Jay-Z as the Entrepreneur, the King Of Hip Hop or Beefer With Nas, here we see the not-so-humble beginnings of the rags to riches rap dream. On Reasonable Doubt Jay-Z hustles himself to the top by his bootstraps, and while he isn't boasting about how he's king of the hill, he is bragging about how he's going to get there. And where many other gangster-rappers enthusiastically glorify life on the streets, Jay-Z waxes philosophical about the dark sides of turning against childhood friends in a song like D'Evils or the consequences of working the corners in Regrets. Contributions come from major players Notorious B.I.G., Foxxy Brown and Mary J. Blige, while production is taken on by Damon Dash, the late Kareem 'Biggs' Burke and of course Jay-Z himself. Like contemporary Nas' Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt gives a disarmingly honest and open view of the corner lifestyle, with tongue-twisting rhymes from a young rapper heading for greatness.

Pressed on virgin 180g vinyl at Music On Vinyl's Netherlands pressing plant. This is one 1967 set that needs no introduction!
"It's a collection of free feeling and imagination," said Jimi Hendrix about his boundlessly influential and still-pioneering 1967 debut album. A touchstone of psychedelic rock, the psychedelic era, and guitar-driven poetry, Are You Experienced remains one of the greatest albums ever released in any genre. Setting a then-unheard-of standard for what was possible with melodic feedback, rock, jazz, blues, soul, and pop fusion, and otherworldly guitar playing, the set is simultaneously rooted in the class-ism of the past, currency of the present, and promise of the future. Laden with ageless classics such as "Manic Depression," "Foxy Lady," "Fire" and "Red House," music doesn't get more essential than this.
Ranked as the 16th greatest album ever released by Rolling Stone, here is the record that inspired countless guitar heroes via frenzied jams, dream-laden landscapes, mind-melting performances, and amplifier-buzzing volumes. No guitarist has yet to master let alone catch up with Hendrix's visions. And the songwriting positively sings. Nobody should be without this record!

Producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who had previously worked with AC/DC on Highway to Hell, was again brought in to produce. Arguably the best and most notorious of the blaxploitation films of the '70s, starring Ron O'Neal as a Harlem drug dealer out to make one last big score before he cleans up his act for good. You could say Curtis Mayfield's accompanying landmark 1972 soundtrack is the real star here though. Superfly is a gripping morality tale set to funky grooves and plaintive vocals, the absolute zenith of Mayfield's socially aware songwriting.

Cut from the Original Analog Masters and Pressed at RTI for Stunning Sound!
Formed in the mid 70s by art school chums David Byrne, Chris Franz, and Tina Weymouth and ex-Modern Lover Jerry Harrison, Talking Heads rose out of the CBGB punk crucible and proved themselves one of the most artistically adventurous and influential bands of all time. Their visionary, polyrhythmic sound fused elements including rock, funk, and punk with diverse world beats, avant-garde minimalism, and pure pop genius.
From their 1977 debut through their Brian Eno and self-produced classics and on to their swan song (1988’s Steve Lillywhite-produced Naked), Talking Heads constantly broke creative boundaries while also scoring smart radio hits including “Burning Down The House,” “Wild Wild Life,” and, from 1980's Remain In Light, the brilliant “Once In A Lifetime.”
Considered by many fans and critics alike to be the band's best album, Remain In Light was the third release in the Heads/Eno trilogy and fourth overall. More melodic and funkier sounding than that of its predecessors, the recording finds the band further exploring the African rhythms hinted at on 1979's Fear of Music with the help of a growing personnel that now included Adrian Belew (guitar), Bernie Worrell (keyboards), Steven Scales (percussion) and backing vocalists. As propulsive and essential as ever here on 180 gram vinyl courtesy of Warner Bros. Records!
"On this New Wave watershed, the avant-punk avatars became polyrhythmic pop magicians. David Byrne and Co. combined the thrust of P-Funk, the kinky grooves of Afropop and the studied adventurousness of producer Brian Eno – and they still had a pop hit with 'Once in a Lifetime'." - Rolling Stone

Ranked 88/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison fully captures Cashs gritty intensity and hard-headed humanity, capturing a high-energy set performed for an equally spirited audience. With a set list tailored for the occasion, Cash focuses on songs dealing with crime and imprisonment, balancing dark subject matter with wry, playful humor. The album opens, appropriately enough, with the venerable Folsom Prison Blues, and continues with such outlaw anthems as Cocaine Blues, 25 Minutes to Go, The Wall and I Got Stripes, alongside such Cash classics as I Still Miss Someone, Orange Blossom Special and Jackson, with the latter track featuring Cashs wife and frequent duet partner June Carter. The album closes on an inspirational note with Greystone Chapel, a song written by convict Glen Shirley, which Cash and his band learned especially for this show.
Johnny Cashs five-decade musical career was loaded with bigger-than-life landmark moments. None were more memorable than the Man in Blacks historic concerts at Folsom Prison and San Quentin State Prison, and the beloved albums that documented those shows. Cashs passion for prison reform and rehabilitation inspired him to perform a series of concerts for inmate audiences, and two of these unique events were documented on Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison and Johnny Cash at San Quentin. These albums, originally released in 1968 and 1969 respectively, remain among Cashs best-selling and best-loved recordings. At the time of their original release, they revitalized his career, and played a crucial role in his crossover from the country music world to the mainstream pop charts.

Ranked 127/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Upon its release in 1966, the Mamas and the Papas debut LP If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears introduced a fresh new sound that would permanently alter the face of contemporary popular music. Leader John Phillips visionary producing, arranging and songwriting abilities combined with the quartets breathtaking harmonies to make music that was both effortlessly accessible and creatively adventurous. The album quickly topped the Billboard album chart, bringing folk-rock into the pop mainstream and making Phillips, his then-wife Michelle Phillips, Denny Doherty and Cass Elliot into instant multimedia celebrities. In the years since its release, If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears has come to be regarded as one of the finest pop albums of the 60s and one of the best debut releases ever.
If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears was the product of Lou Adlers visionary production, Phillips savvy studio mastery and the foursomes extended period of musical woodshedding in the Virgin Islands. The months of meticulous rehearsals paid off in the groups ability to emerge as a fully-formed musical unit right out of the box, delivering such instant classics as California Dreamin, Monday, Monday and Go Where You Wanna Go to the willing ears of record buyers and radio listeners.
At the time of If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears initial release, the presence of a toilet in the periphery of the albums cover photo caused faint-hearted moral guardians to pressure the groups record company to excise the offending fixture from subsequent pressings of the album. Sundazeds new vinyl edition of If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears restores the rare, long-missing toilet cover, and features the albums superior original mono mix. Its also mastered from the original analog tapes, and pressed on high-definition vinylthe better to maintain the same joyous sense of discovery that listeners felt when first hearing this timeless gem in 1966.

Released August 17, 1959, on Columbia Records in the United States. Recording sessions for the album took place at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in New York City on March 2 and April 22, 1959. The sessions featured Davis's ensemble sextet, which consisted of pianist Bill Evans (Wynton Kelly on one track), drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Paul Chambers, and saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian "Cannonball" Adderley.
After the entry of Bill Evans into his sextet, Davis followed up on the modal experimentations of Milestones (1958) and 1958 Miles (1958) by basing the album entirely on modality, in contrast to his earlier work with the hard bop style of jazz. Though precise figures have been disputed, Kind of Blue has been described by many music writers not only as Davis's best-selling album, but as the best-selling jazz record of all time. On October 7, 2008, it was certified quadruple platinum in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has been regarded by many critics as the greatest jazz album of all time and Davis's masterpiece. The album's influence on music, including jazz, rock, and classical music, has led music writers to acknowledge it as one of the most influential albums ever made. In 2002, it was one of fifty recordings chosen that year by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry. In 2003, the album was ranked number 12 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

An American Classic: Gorgeous Breakthrough Album of Pop Standards Spent More than a Decade on Country Charts
Quintuple Platinum 1978 Set Finds Nelson Interpreting Fare From Likes of Kurt Weill, Hoagy Carmichael, and Irving Berlin
Sumptuous Sound Elevates Booker T. Jones Production: Mastered on Mobile Fidelitys World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI
As a Singer, Nelson Never Better: Gets Inside the Phrasing, Lyrics, and Emotions of Songs
Why be predictable?, Willie Nelson asked Columbia Records executive Nick Blackburn, after the latter resisted the Red Headed Strangers decision to make an album of classic pop tunes. Talk about outlaw country. Cutting against the genres traditions and Music Row conventions, Nelsons Stardust remains a genius-level creation as well as the icons most commercially successful release, a truly gorgeous record infused with ultimate respect for composers and lyrics and many of the finest performances of his career. It is a quintessential part of any catalog.
Having met Jones while living in Malibu, Nelson established a relationship with the musician that extended to roles as producer, arranger and band mate. Jones superior knowledge of the American Songbook comes through via the materials economy of scale and sympathetic approach. Acoustic guitar arpeggios, contrasting breaks, bluesy harmonicas, glowing organs, R&B-tinged horns, brushed drums, and relaxed bass lines trickle throughout the songs, all distinguished by Nelsons intimate timbre and absolutely astonishing vocal expressiveness.
In redefining and reimagining standards such as Irving Berlins Blue Skies, Hoagy Carmichaels Georgia On My Mind, and the age-old All of Meall of which landed in the Top 5 of the Country singles chartNelson wedded together pop, country, jazz, folk, and blues in a manner in which no artist had ever before done. He gained considerable rewards for his exquisite efforts: Stardust sold more than five million copies and, incredibly, stayed on the Country album charts for more than ten years.

Rum, Sodomy & the Lash is the second studio album by the London-based folk punk band The Pogues, released in 1985.
The album's title is taken from a quotation often misattributed to Winston Churchill: "Don't talk to me about naval tradition. It's nothing but rum, sodomy, and the lash." Singer and primary songwriter Shane MacGowan claimed that the title was suggested by drummer Andrew Ranken. The cover artwork is based on The Raft of the Medusa, a painting by Théodore Géricault, with the band members' faces replacing those of the men on the raft.

Ranked 178/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
When The Byrds went on stage for the last time in 1991 on the occasion of their being inducted into the Hall of Fame, the honourary title of 'Founders of Folk and Country Rock' had long been theirs. And if there were an award for quarrelling, constant changes of band members and a continuous threat of a break-up, then the Byrds would certainly have earned it. When they decided to record Bob Dylan’s smash hit "Mr. Tambourine Man", Dylan himself had to enter on the scene to calm the waters. Eventually the song was recorded with session musicians and the frontman Roger McGuinn, who lent the band their characteristic sound with the unmistakable twang of his 12-string Rickenbacker guitar.
Released three years after the band’s founding, Greatest Hits is a compilation of numbers which had proved very popular when released as singles. Alongside Pete Seeger’s musing "Turn, Turn, Turn", the album contains their own space rock compositions "Fifth Dimension", "Mr. Spaceman", and "Eight Miles High", the latter of which has often incorrectly construed as a trip on LSD. The selection of songs on the present album represents the innovative, creative powers of the early Byrds.
Musicians:
- Gene Clark, David Crosby (guitar, vocal)
- Roger McGuinn (banjo, guitar, vocal)
- Chris Hillman (bass, vocal)
- Michael Clark (drums)
About Speakers Corner
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Speakers Corner all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s – or employed existant tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
We should like to emphasise that Speakers Corner Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle. We have one digital recording in our catalogue (Alan Parsons / Eye In The Sky“), but even in this particular case we used the analogue tapes for cutting.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects – excluding the exception above – and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Delightfully Campy, Intentionally Goofy, Lyrically Kitschy: 1979 Set Is Nothing But a Good Time
Mastered on Mobile Fidelitys World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI (America's Best Record Plant): LP Bursts Forth With the Color and Vibrancy of the Brilliant Pop Within
Boffo! Beehive hairdos, goofy sci-fi humor, lava-lamp kitsch, thrift-store fashions, party-starting tunes, unconventional perspectives, and the unique blending of the underground aesthetic with mainstream accessibility: The B-52s mix all this and more into a dizzying cocktail on their self-titled debut, which remains one of the most ahead-of-its-time, endlessly enjoyable, and vividly colorful albums ever released.
The B-52s has its roots in the bands improbable genesis, itself reflective of the records gleeful moods and quirky charms. The five members first played after sharing a tropical alcoholic beverage at a Chinese restaurant, the ironic silliness and spontaneous irreverence indicative of the music on its breakthrough record. Not to mention how it mirrors the unusual hodgepodge of instrumentation: organs, walkie talkies, bongos, glockenspiels, tambourines, toy pianos, smoke alarms, and more!
Musically, the band proves just as adventurous and whimsical. Using pleasant harmonies as a backdrop and Kate Piersons squealing organ as a starting point, the B-52s draw upon surf-rock grooves, beach-bound soul-pop, herky-jerky funk riffs, minimalist rhythms, and Ricky Wilsons unusual guitar lines to craft songs that tower above the sarcastic suggestiveness and campy declarations. Of course, the latter are plenty entertaining on their own, but theres no denying the dance-bound persuasiveness and melodic shimmy associated with the classic cult single Rock Lobster and splendid cover of the ubiquitous Petula Clark standard Downtown. Youve never heard anything like this.
Indeed, the B-52s were about a decade ahead of the alt-rock revolution when they recorded this delightfully campy, intentionally goofy, lyrically tawdry, and undeniably harmonic 1979 new-wave set that comes off as the best dance party you might ever hear. This is 40 minutes of nothing but a good time.
Mastered on Mobile Fidelitys world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI (America's best record plant), Silver Label numbered limited edition LP presents the B-52s brilliant debut in a fidelity its never previously enjoyed. So detailed and realistic are the timbres, accents, and harmonies, youll think the bands bright outfits are appearing right in front of you. Plus, the LP is worth the cost alone for the iconic album cover, which spotlights those bouffant dos.

Like the band's previous two releases, Cream's third album, Wheels Of Fire (1968), also topped the charts. Although it was criticized at the time for being a somewhat disjointed album, because it was divided into one LP of new studio material and one LP of live material. However, it has nonetheless gone down in the annals of history because the song "White Room" remains one of the Great Moments of rock and roll. It was subsequently released as two separate albums, both reissued on white vinyl by Vinyl Lovers.

English Band's 1981 Sophomore Record A Superbly Articulate Expression of Post-Punk Gloom, Despair, and Melancholy That's Shot Through With Hope
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI (America's Best Record Plant): LP Illuminates Myriad Textures, Atmospherics
How strong and looming of an influence is Echo and the Bunnymen? Strong enough to be the one band name-dropped in a great piece of dialogue from the music-loving film High Fidelity, whereupon Jack Black's quipping record store clerk character cites the band as legitimate taste makers for much of the cutting-edge music that happened in the late 80's and beyond.
And on no record is the English quintet's greatness more apparent than on 1981's sophomore Heaven Up Here, the group's first effort to chart in the U.S. and a Top 10 smash in its native U.K. The record's merits are legion-and timeless: vocalist Ian McCulloch's cavernous croon; dream-weaving guitar lines pushed through ominous, melodic soundscapes; neopsychedelic dirges and self-aware lyrics; glamorous drama and tortuous tension. These characteristics and more turn the music restrained euphoria and what the band called "black magic."
Rife with thick atmospherics and brooding dreamscapes, the harrowing songs clatter amidst arrangements infused with requisite air, space, and chamber echoes. Silhouetted guitar leads help convey moody dampness, despair, dread, and disgust, the themes directly connected to narratives that tackle distrust, dishonesty, betrayal, and arrested dreams. Cloudy and jagged for certain, but the majesty of Heaven Up Here relates to how, in spite of the haunted arrangements and claustrophobic feel, ribbons of light and hope illuminate its shadowy corners and nocturnal glow.
Sharing much in common with Joy Division's period output and a precursor to later work by The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Cure, Love and Rockets, Ride, and countless other U.K. artists, Heaven Up Here soars on Will Seargant's angular six-string blues, McCulloch's vampiric grayness, and etched, stair-stepping bass movements.
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI (America's best record plant), Silver Label numbered limited edition LP presents Echo and the Bunnymen's breakthrough in an involving fidelity that blows away what's on the original pressings and annihilates Rhino's CD remaster. Listeners will revel in the opened-up reverb, sound effects, complex tonalities, swimmy textures, and crafty overdubs that are so essential to the music. This is an 80's landmark, and if you like early U2, you need this album.

Rod the Mod's Definitive Album: Timeless Feel-Good Set Contains Eternal Chart-Topper "Maggie May," Introspective "(Find A) Reason to Believe"
Stewart's Band Includes His Faces Mates: Ron Wood, Ian McLagan Shine
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI (The Best Plant in America): LP Boasts Organic Warmth and Full-Range Extension
Rod Stewart owned the early 1970s. When he wasn't recording great sets with the Faces, he was redefining how folk, country, and soul music could be folded under rock's umbrella. Filled with first-rate originals and terrific interpretations of classics, Every Picture Tells A Story remains Stewart's watershed moment, a brilliant synthesis of organic warmth, earthy tones, raucous romance, and loose performances. Those who only know Stewart from his later evolution into a sappy balladeer will be overwhelmed.
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI (the best record plant in America), MoFi Silver Labels' numbered limited edition LP presents the 1971 smash in the most transparent, warm, and full-range sound the music has ever enjoyed. Stewart's supremely soulful vocals come on with insouciant passion and joyous persuasion, the detail allowing listeners to hear into his lungs and feel every breath he draws. His equally superb band is presented amidst an expanded soundstage that's free of artificial ceilings and harshness introduced by several digital remastering editions. The explosive sound is akin to watching a fledgling group come into its own in a small club.
Kicking up the tempo and slightly increasing the edge from his previous solo effort, Stewart transforms blues, folk, country, and soul into a hard-rocking hybrid that maintains acoustic properties but isn't afraid to step out and report on what it's like to have a night out on the town. Anchored by Mick Waller's free-swinging percussion, every song triumphs, with Stewart's slightly hoarse and eminently emotive vocals communicating each word as if they're literally sewn as hearts on his sleeve. Ron Wood's slide guitar and gritty chords complement the singer's earnest conviction, and Ian McLagan's organ adds bittersweet accents. Nothing here is blue; Every Picture Tells A Story is a celebration.
Stewart combines American and British folk styles on the strolling "Mandolin Wind," the touching song epitomizing the simple, direct approach that underpins the entire album. On the breathless title track, Stewart embraces his inner playboy, the tune's likable crude-and-rude swagger sent up on crackling rhythms and visceral harmonies. The British native handles Bob Dylan's "Tomorrow Is A Long Time" and the evergreen "That's All Right" as if he wrote them. The best aspect of Every Picture Tells A Story relates to how genuine and believable Stewart and his good-natured company sound throughout.
If you are a fan of rock, soul, folk, or the blues, you owe it to yourself to have a superb copy of this timeless record that shows off its translucent and organic tones, extraordinary vocal performances, and crack backing band. Mobile Fidelity's Silver Label numbered limited edition LP does just that. And it restores one of the most iconic album covers in history. As for that "Classic Edition" statement that's always hovered at the top of the record? Never truer than now.

1. Every Picture Tells a Story (Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood)

Ranked 90/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Numbered Limited Edition
Stevie Wonder established an incredible precedent between 1971 and 1976, releasing six of the most groundbreaking, genre-blurring, genius albums ever made. Composed and written at a time when his marriage was his collapsing, the largely uplifting and eminently soulful Talking Book is arguably the best of those trailblazing records. Wonder manages to not only to restore faith in love, he also includes smart political commentary, personal-is-political messages, empowering statements, and exorcises the frustrations associated with heartbreak. Few efforts are more emotionally intense and consistently enriching.
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI (the best record plant in North America), the MoFi Silver Labels' numbered limited edition LP presents the 1972 landmark in the most transparent, warm, and natural sound the music has ever enjoyed. Every nuance and detail is flushed out and an enmeshed part of the supremely balanced whole. Wonder's vocals, meanwhile, are immediate and lively, the singer seemingly only several feet away, surrounded by world-class musicians.
In addition to striking diversity and passionate reach, Talking Book continues to speak to listeners nearly 40 years later because of how much of Wonder himself is invested in the songs. With everlasting proclamations like "I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will be Forever)" and "You and I (We Can Conquer the World," Wonder transcends his excruciating pain and clung to the concept of love as a higher power. Similarly, he stakes an equal part of himself in fare that confronts woe head-on ("Tuesday Heartbreak") and reels off one of the most famous ballads ("You Are the Sunshine of My Life") in history.
Musically, Wonder is clearly tapped into a spiritual plane, the arrangements encompassing an array of moods and styles: rocking and funky ("Superstition"), mellow and poignant, grooving and exuberant. Jeff Beckâs guitar solo on "Lookin' for Another Pure Love" takes the song to a new level, and guests David Sanborn, Buzzy Fenton, and Ray Parker Jr. round out whatâs an almost impossibly perfectly unified album.
Don't settle for inferior-sounding versions of this visionary creation. Silver Series' LP brings Wonder's impeccably written and performed classics to life with utmost realism and warmth. No matter what mood you're in, Talking Book is made for you.

Ranked 435/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Polly Jean's third proper album is her most mature and accomplished to date. Following the harsh sound and brutal honesty of Rid Of Me, To Bring You My Love feels like a step outside of herself, a reflection rather than an outpouring of emotion. Relying heavily on religious imagery and presenting a twisted blues reminiscent of future-beau Nick Cave or Tom Waits, To Bring You My Love is quite a departure from the sparseness of Steve Albini's production on Rid Of Me.

 At Last (Speakers Corner)
Etta James
$34.99
180 Gram Audiophile Virgin Vinyl LP - Sealed
|
Ranked 116/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
It’s as though the title "At Last" is trying to dupe one into believing that Etta James had experienced all the ups and downs that life could offer her by the year 1961: performing on great stages under the influence of drugs, her exodus from the scene, appalling jobs in seedy clubs and dives, and a brilliant comeback with an earthy voice in Montreux followed by a tour of the USA with the Rolling Stones. In truth, "At Last" should be seen as the potent motto of a debut LP by a vocalist who had just emerged from her beginnings as a gospel singer, and had now recorded promising single songs.
Two of the numbers, the bittersweet "All I Could Do Was Cry" and the lounge-worthy "Trust In Me", promptly landed in both the R & B and Pop charts. But the more carefree, candy rock ’n’ roll ("Tough Mary"), the weird and languishing song ("Girl Of My Dreams") and the stuff of finest ballads ("Stormy Weather") are all found in this highly diversified mainstream mix. An unobtrusive background of gentle strings and chorus, so typical of the times, sensitively enhances the carefully chosen numbers, somewhere between Rhythm & Blues, Soul, and Standard Jazz. The result is a timeless, highly accomplished and variegated LP from the beginning of Etta James’s lengthy discography.
Musicians:
- Etta James (vocal)
- Riley Hampton (arranger)
- Riley Hampton Orchestra
Recording: January - October 1960
Production: Leonard and Phil Chess
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects – excluding the exception above – and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Prince's Cutting-Edge 1980 LP Back on Vinyl for First Time in Ages: Rock, Funk, New Wave, and Pop Meet in a Furious Fusion
Mastered from the Original Tapes: Lacquers Cut by Bernie Grundman at Bernie Grundman Mastering
Pressed at RTI and Features Complete Reproduction of Original Packaging: An Audiophile Spectacular
Prince had made a name for himself with his self-titled sophomore record, but didn't come into his own until the liberating Dirty Mind. Originally released in 1980, Dirty Mind is the pop provocateur's third album, completely produced, arranged and composed by Minneapolis' favorite son. While it established parameters that Prince would follow for the remainder of the decade, the record also remains unique for its blend of rock, funk, pop, and new wave. Prince uses rock, rather than soul or R&B as the foundation, and weaves the other styles around a demeanor that finds the singer/multi-instrumentalist both bluntly honest and fabulously furious.
True to the album's title, Prince doesn't shy away from sexuality, with both "Head" and "Sister" guaranteed to make many ears blush and, well, nearly every other track on the record addressing desire, lust, and partying in one form or another. Seldom as any performer been so candidly outspoken and gifted with a genius reflected in the irresistble melodies, hooks, and grooves.
After more than two decades of being out of print, Dirty Mind is finally back on vinyl--and how. Mastered from the original tapes, with lacquers cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, and pressed at RTI on 180g vinyl, this is the very best version you'll ever hope to hear. No longer will you have to settle for the slightly compressed original or nearly unlistenable CD versions. Moreover, rhino's analog reissue boasts replicate original packaging.

1980s Pop Landmark Back on Vinyl for First Time in Ages.
Mastered from the Original Tapes: Lacquers Cut by Bernie Grundman at Bernie Grundman Mastering
Pressed at RTI and Features Complete Reproduction of Original Packaging: An Audiophile Spectacular
Records don't come more influential or stunning than 1999. Originally released in 1982, 1999 signified Prince's fifth full-length album and first to feature The Revolution as his backing band. The breakthrough set gave him his Top Ten album and paved the way for what would be an unrivaled pop run for the next decade, culminating in an international stardom and literally revolutionary creativity. Moreover, the synth- and drum-machine-dominant arrangements on 1999, as well as its surfeit of dance grooves, rock anthems, and insanely catchy hooks wrote the script for nearly every artist that followed, as well as what transpired in the house, electronic, and techno fields.
Rolling Stone nailed the record's appeal when the magazine named it #163 on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time:
The second half of 1999 is just exceptional sex-obsessed dance music; the first half is the best fusion of rock and funk achieved to that date, and it lays out the blueprint for Prince's next decade. Except for a few background hand claps and vocals, Prince plays most every instrument himself and creates a relentless, irresistible musical sequence of apocalypse ("1999") and raunchy sex that he proposes as the only possible response "Little Red Corvette," "Let's Pretend We're Married," "Delirious" and, well, just about every other song on the album.
--Rolling Stone, "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time," November 2003
If any more evidence was needed of the double-LP's greatness, just take a look at the track listing. Yet, in addition to the hits, Prince also provides worthwhile sonic experimentation and ventures into areas he'd previously bypassed. It's no wonder that no artist of his generation--and arguably, no musician from any generation--has covered so much ground. Such breadth is what helps make 1999 so distinctive.
After more than two decades of being out of print, 1999 is finally back on vinyl--and how. Mastered from the original tapes, with lacquers cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, and pressed at RTI on 180g double vinyl, this is the very best version you'll ever hope to hear. No longer will you have to settle for the slightly compressed original or nearly unlistenable CD versions. Rhino's analog reissue also boasts replicate original packaging.

Ranked 403/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Although the original members of the Memphis quartet Big Star recorded only the album, #1 Record together and were dissolving rapidly by the time the second, Radio City, was completed, those records have influenced countless 80s and 90s rockers on both sides of the Atlantic, from the Replacements and R.E.M. to Englands Primal Scream and Scotlands Teenage Fanclub. That Big Stars impact should extend so far afield is less surprising in light of the bands own inspirations. Taking the gritty soul of Memphis rhythm and blues and fusing it with the artful melodies and vocal harmonies of British power pop, and injecting it all with a flailing, pre-punk, garage-band energy, Big Star created a unique sound with a universal appeal.
Originally released in 1972, Big Star's legendary debut, #1 Record was the second release for the newly formed Ardent Records. Their simple, light pop and jangly guitars mixed with sweet harmonies was ahead of its time, garnering a die-hard cult following and receiving widespread critical acclaim. A remarkable document of innovative craft and content!

Ranked 448/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
1977's In Color is Cheap Trick's second full-length release and the songs and music are as impressive as the band's debut. Melodic, gritty and just a rockin' good time, the album is one of rock's best ever sets of lip-smacking, hip-shaking, guitar-driven, harmony-coated super-songs. In Color contains the studio version of "I Want You To Want Me," which would go on to become one of their biggest hits a few years later when it was released on the At Budakon album, along with four other tracks from this record ("Hello There," "Big Eyes," "Clock Strikes Ten" and "Come On, Come On"). These original versions have all the energy of that classic live set.
Producer Tom Werman understood the band's pop dynamic and brought out the best in the individual members, resulting in pop/rock written and performed as close to perfection as pop-metal/power-pop gets. Aside from the craftsmanship, the album has genuine heart and a fun attitude. Cheap Trick is a band that never took itself too seriously as famously illustrated on the gatefold LP jacket where singer Robin Zander and bassist Tom Petersson are captured in full color astride motorcycles on the front cover while drummer Bun E. Carlos and guitarist Rick Nielsen are in black and white and upside-down, on the back.
Track Listing:
1. Hello There
2. Big Eyes
3. Downed
4. I Want You To Want Me
5. You're All Talk
6. Oh Caroline
7. Clock Strikes Ten
8. Southern Girls

If you want to experience why on any given night the Grateful Dead was the best live band going in 1969, you need to hear Live/Dead. If you want to understand how personal chemistry, symbiotic interplay, and otherworldly energy can lead to a near-extinct onstage combination of soulfulness, surprise, and suspense, you need to hear Live/Dead. Ranked by Rolling Stone on the magazines list of the 500 Greatest Records of All Time. Universally acclaimed by both Deadheads and non-devotees alike. The perfect synthesis of the legendary groups first-era vital characteristics and cosmic faculties. A gorgeously recorded sonic artifact and more, Live/Dead is outright essential.
Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes with the utmost care, and part of Mobile Fidelitys unprecedented Grateful Dead reissue series, this numbered limited edition 180g 2LP version of Live/Dead raises the iconic albums lofty prestige even higher. Recorded at three San Francisco concerts in early 1969 with a mobile 16-track studio, the 7-song set has always possessed excellent fidelity in large part because of a mic splitterspecially created for the projectthat fed both into the PA system and record inputs, allowing the engineers to capture the shows without any loss in quality.
Seldom have venue dimensions, acoustic properties, spatial characteristics, low-frequency resonances, amplifier tonalities, soundstage balances, and vocal timbres been so faithfully reproducedor enhanced. Mobile Fidelitys version elevates Live/Dead into the revered pantheon of the most respected reference audiophile LPs. Close your eyes and youre dead center, ten rows back in two of the Bay Areas most beloved halls: Fillmore West and Avalon Ballroom. The degrees of realism are utterly staggering; no, you dont need any, ahem, chemical assistance to facilitate the transcendent experience.
Renowned for contagious communication between its members, the Dead operates on a interstellar plane throughout Live/Dead. Witnessing the ebb-and-flow manners in which guitarist Jerry Garcia, bassist Phil Lesh, and drummer Billy Kreutzmann respond to one anothers passages and blur the lines between jazz, psychedelia, and rock disciplines. Meandering jamming this is not. Solos burn, rhythms thunder, bass lines roll, melodies twist. Dark Star remains the touchstone for whats possible in epic frameworks, with notes climbing, darting, and skittering amidst a dark canvas seared with mystic vibes and punctuated with blossoming instrumentals. Along with the inseparable pairing of St. Stephen and The Elevena sequence that highlights the raw gospel beauty of Garcia, Lesh, and Bob Weirs harmonies as well as breathtaking tightrope seguesthe explorative excursion epitomizes the Deads progressive inclination, cohesion, and ability.
Live/Dead isnt all about the art of the improvisation. R&B-driven electric blues comes courtesy of organist/vocalist Ron Pigpen McKernan, still in excellent health, and pianist Tom Constanten, who departed the band shortly after these shows occurred. The latters counterpoint playing and spiritual accents shadow the shivering ballad Death Dont Have No Mercy and underscore a rousing, percussive-laden marathon take of Turn on Your Love Light. Call-and-response segments, spontaneous exchanges, and joyous merry-making doesnt come any better. Live/Dead is a landmark in every sense; it remains the first 16-track album released. Its impact is still felt today.
From the illustrative cover art (hint: the word Dead subtly spells out Acid on the back cover) to the gatefold graphics and the extraordinary sonics, Mobile Fidelitys 180 gram 2LP edition ranks among the labels best releases. Ever. Secure your lowest-numbered edition by ordering now!

When word got out that we were beginning a pressing plant, customers began to call with questions. And the most common and full-of-anticipation question was inevitably: What will be the first title that you press? Well, we couldn't possibly imagine hitting a bigger home run than to open Quality Record Pressings (QRP) with one of the all-time most classic audiophile records, Cat Stevens' Tea for the Tillerman from 1970.
There are so many things perfect about this release. First and foremost, it's a masterpiece of a record. It's that rare record that couples breathtaking sound with hit after hit after hit. In fact, to list the hits would be to list the entire song list. We couldn't pick a better vehicle for which to show off what we're so confident will be the highest quality records ever pressed.
But here's something else that's cool: We scored the absolute original analog masters, and the tapes were in impeccable condition. It took an unbelievable amount of digging and research - and luck - to get this project done to the standards of Analogue Productions. But, wow, was it ever worth it! The tapes were last used in December 1999 when Ted Jensen at Sterling, along with producer Paul Samwell-Smith, remastered the Cat Stevens catalog for CD.
In 1970, Lee Hulko at Sterling Sound cut Tea For The Tillerman for A&M Records in the U.S. and Island Records in the UK using a Telefunken M10 tape machine and a Neumann VMS 66 lathe with a Neumann SX68 cutterhead. Hulko started Sterling in 1968 and was its original mastering engineer. He's considered among the first engineers to advance mastering from just transferring music from tape to lacquer to an art where attention is paid to all the details that result in better sound. We actually found Hulko's original mastering notes from more than 40 years ago. It's incredible, but Sterling still has all of their notes filed away.
So, it was originally cut at Sterling - as were all of the early original Cat Stevens albums - and the tapes were last used at Sterling. How appropriate then that we should go back to Sterling for this monumental reissue. Using the original tapes, George Marino handled the mastering this time. He used an Ampex ATR-102 tape machine, another significant point of interest. While Ampex has long been revered for their sound, they had never made a preview version so that a mastering engineer could cut a lacquer from an Ampex machine. Mike Spitz at ATR Services made a unique preview modification for Sterling so that they could cut this record using an Ampex. Marino then used a Neumann VMS 80 lathe with a Neumann SX 74 cutterhead.
"I think we've gotten something quite a bit better than what was originally issued," Marino says. "I think this version is much more representative of what was on the tape. And that's not a criticism of what was originally done."
Marino points out that since the original issue, there have been advancements in cutting lathe technology that make the improvements of this reissue possible.
"You didn't have the same number of options that you have in the new Neumann electronics," Marino says. "With the new one, they give you more variations to work with. Let's say there's a nice kind of present sounding acoustic guitar on the left channel and then all of the sudden there's a drum peak with cymbal crashes and stuff and that stuff happens to be on the left channel. Being the vocal is down the center, you can drive the high frequency limiter from the right channel. So you can set a threshold on the right channel and grab the vocal without wiping out some of the musical peaks on the left channel. This is what I talk about when I say that we have technical advantages that they didn't have."
Marino also chose to use a wide-track stereo head for this project, which he said allows for better signal-to-noise than the normal stereo head.
And he also decided against using tube electronics, as would have been used originally, because he says that while the tubes allowed for more warmth, they also made the sound duller.
"You wind up wanting to put a little top-end EQ or something to get a little something back (when using tubes)," Marino explains of his decision.
Marino says that he is very pleased with the results.
"A great record. A classic," he says. "And those tapes were in excellent, excellent condition. Musically, I think we've got something that sounds richer and more natural. It sounds more correct. I had to do very, very little to the tape regarding EQ processing or anything."
To package this reissue, we've decided to do a facsimile of the original British Island gatefold jacket rather than the non-gatefold U.S. version. This British jacket also has a textured paper stock on the inside and is glossy on the outside. Additionally, we're using the original pink Island label.
So there you have it. Quality Record Pressings is off and pressing in a big, big way! Finally, we're ready to unveil the innovations in record pressing that we've been working on for more than a year. Among those innovations are the installations of microprocessors on the presses so that all of the presses functions are performed with absolute precision. For example, we've developed a dye with an imbedded temperature sensor that we can use to cycle the presses. Rather than having the presses close and open based on time - as it's been to date - these presses will close and open based on temperature, the far more accurate indicator of when the record is ready. We also have a plating department in Quality Record Pressings, run by the best plating man in the business, Gary Salstrom.
Still to come from Analogue Productions pressed at Quality Record Pressings will be the Cat Stevens classics Teaser and the Firecat and Catch Bull at Four.
Tea For The Tillerman is one of Cat Stevens' finest albums and a gem in the crown of early 1970s singer/songwriterdom. Stevens manages to have his cake and eat it too, simultaneously achieving pop accessibility and artistic relevance. The feel is decidedly gentle and spare. Apart from the occasional string section, Stevens is accompanied only by a three-piece band as he sings his introspective lyrics with appreciable favor.

NOW ON 180-GRAM VINYL!!!
Remastered from the original tapes! It sounds incredible!!
A quadruple Platinum No. 1 smash and the best-selling album of 1972, Harvest was Neil Young's fourth solo effort. With the Gold No. 1 "Heart Of Gold," Top 40 "Old Man," powerful "The Needle And The Damage Done," controversial "A Man Needs A Maid" and "Southern Man" companion "Alabama," Harvest won inclusion in Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Albums Of All Time."
Deceptively laid-back-sounding country-rock plaints like "Out On The Weekend" and the title cut caress the ear unassumingly, pulling you into the more ominous subtext that is present in the rollicking "Are You Ready For The Country." As always, Young has an ear for contrasts, laying down heavy rock ("Alabama") besides his balladry, and even employing the London Symphony Orchestra on the excellent confessional "A Man Needs A Maid." Due to back troubles, Young recorded much of this material while wearing a brace, a fact that seems audible in the tension and unease that underlies the friendly, acoustic surface of this superb release.

The great lost volume to Harry Smiths legendary Anthology of American Folk Music! Although these songs were compiled at the same time as the original volumes (famously released on Smithsonian Folkways in 1952), Volume 4: Country Music & Bluegrass remained mysteriously unissued for almost 50 years! Like the previous volumes these recordings come mostly from the late 20s and 30s, with the central focus being on old time country and bluegrass music by artists like the Monroe Brothers, the Carter Family, Robert Johnson, Bukka White, Leadbelly, Uncle Dave Macon, Sleepy John Estes and more! The importance of Harry Smith's work can not be overstated. Not only did he single-handedly save much of American folk music from extinction, but when he handed his record collection over to Smithsonian folkways in 1952, he opened the floodgates for the American folk revival of the following decade and beyond.

 What's Going On (Box Set)
Marvin Gaye
$59.99
Vinyl LP + 2 CDs - Sealed
|
Ranked 6/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
This 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition includes on two CDs a remastered version of the album plus 28 bonus tracks - 16 unreleased! - plus a vinyl LP.
Leading off this lovingly produced, double-gatefold 12×12 package is a newly remastered version of the original album, which delivers a deeper, warmer sound than in previous reissues. Added to the album on Disc 1 are several outtakes from sessions that led up to the recording of the LPthe original mix of the title song Marvin presented to Motowns legendary Quality Control meeting, where it was summarily rejected; and song demos which show Marvin wrestling with the rejectionas well as the albums three mono single releases, each of which reached No. 1 R&B and Top 10 pop: Whats Going On (in a very different mix than the LP), Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology) and Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler), plus their B-sides, of which two are alternate takes from the familiar LP versions.
Disc 2 of Whats Going On Ultimate Collector's Edition is a document of the albums aftermath, when Marvin Gaye, reluctant to tour and shy about becoming the spokesman of his generation, holed up in Motowns Studio B in Detroit with like-minded musiciansamong them the young guitarists Ray Parker Jr. and Wah Wah Watson, and the 20-year-old bassist Michael Henderson, fresh from a Miles Davis tourand simply jammed over several days. These tracks, mostly instrumental, are as brooding and funky as the Whats Going On album cover. The rest of the disc includes Gayes final sessions in Detroit; among the few tunes he recorded was a sequel of sorts to the album, the politically tinged non-LP single Youre The Man, which hit the R&B top 10 in spring 1972. Also included are two rare alternate takes of the song.
Capping this special release is the first ever 12-inch vinyl LP of the Detroit Mix of Whats Going On, the original, darker mix of the entire album, left behind when Gaye decided to finish the overdubs in Los Angeles.
Inside is an LP-sized booklet with rare photos from the sessions, the original lyrics, detailed recording annotations and two essays: one by Gaye biographer David Ritz describing the Why Marvin Gaye created his first-ever self-produced album, and another detailing the How by Ben Edmonds, author of Whats Going On: Marvin Gaye and The Last Days Of The Motown Sound.
A meditative act of artistic rebellion, What's Going On broke the Motown mold. The album introduced Marvin Gaye, the company's sexy prince, as an uncompromising singer, songwriter and producer, and from the first day of release it was recognized as a masterwork. This 40th Anniversary edition includes on two CDs a remastered version of the ablum; the original mono hit singles; the original, rejected, "no strings" single mix of the title track; several post-album outtakes; his single sequel, "You're The Man"; a series of recordings, mostly instrumental, made in Detroit before Marvin followed Motown to Los Angeles. The Motor City theme of this edition continues on the included 12-inch: The LP's rare, original "Detroit Mix," on vinyl for the very first time!

Ranked 195/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
John Mayall is known as the white king of black blues. His way of singing, his harmonica playing and his typical Hammond organ sound reigned supreme in the realm of the blues during the sixties and seventies. “I never made commercial compromises; everything I did, I did for myself and nobody else”, Mayall confessed – words that are as honest and credible as his music. His singing, which he himself described as “rough but bursting with energy”, just can’t be imitated and the solo passages prove how the man grooves for himself alone, nobody else.
The sound on this recording clearly carries the stamp of the young Eric Clapton who plays here on the side line, as it were. His short sojourn with the Bluesbreakers was a training camp for the guitarist who not many years later was idolized by his fans everywhere.
The original release of this debut album is a highly sought-after and expensive collectors item whose artistic level has, according to the specialists, never been surpassed.
Recording: 1966 by Gus Dudgeon
Production: Mike Vernon
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects – excluding the exception above – and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Ranked 102/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

 Innervisions (Colored)
Stevie Wonder
$14.99
Colored Vinyl LP Reissue - Sealed
|
Ranked 23/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The sixteenth album by American musician Stevie Wonder, released August 3, 1973 on Motown Records; a landmark recording of his "classic period".The nine tracks of Innervisions encompass a wide range of themes and issues: from drug abuse in "Too High," through social anger in "Living for the City," to love in the ballads "All in Love is Fair" and "Golden Lady."
As with many of Stevie Wonder's albums the lyrics, composition and production are almost entirely his own work, with the ARP synthesizer used prominently throughout the album. This instrument was a common motif among musicians of the time because of its ability to construct a complete sound environment. Wonder was the first black artist to experiment with this technology on a mass scale, and Innervisions was hugely influential on the subsequent future of commercial black music. He also played all or virtually all instruments on six of the album's nine tracks, making most of Innervisions a representative one-man band.

Ranked 349/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
The English blues rock band The Yardbirds released their album 'Roger the Engineer' in 1966. It was the only Yardbirds album with all original material. Although the record was officially titled 'Yardbirds' it has since its release been referred to as 'Roger the Engineer', a title stemming from the cover drawing of the record's audio engineer Roger Cameron by band member Chris Dreja. Due to the influence of Jeff Beck's experimentation with guitar distortion, the album is considered a precursor to heavy metal.
Music On Vinyl is now rereleasing this classic album in its original mono version.

Bringing a bubblegum sensibility to the fast-and-hard mentality, their primal sound is considered a blueprint for all things resembling snotty, catchy, ear-bleeding punk rock.
This is the album that started it all! Recorded in around a week for a little over $6,000, the Ramones self-titled 1976 debut is loud, fast, hook laden and unadorned, all characteristics that help make it arguably the best and most influential album to come out of New York's heralded '70s punk scene. With tracks like "Blitzkrieg Bop," "Beat on the Brat," "Judy Is A Punk" and "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend," for its first four songs, it's hard to argue otherwise.
