Waxwork Records is thrilled to announce the debut soundtrack release of CREEPSHOW 2. The 1987 anthology horror film is a sequel to 1982’s CREEPSHOW, which was directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King. The film is once again based upon stories by Stephen King, and features three horror-segments, Old Chief Woodenhead, The Raft, and The Hitchhiker, with an animated-horror wrap around story.
The score, co-composed and performed by Les Reed and Rick Wakeman, features a mix of both classic, orchestral compositions and electronic, synth cues. Waxwork’s CREEPSHOW 2 deluxe, double LP soundtrack release marks the very first time that the music from the film has been released in any format. After a lengthy search of the original masters, Waxwork Records was able to work directly with composers Les Reed and Rick Wakeman to acquire the original source material and re-master for vinyl.
Waxwork’s 2014 vinyl release of the original 1982 CREEPSHOW score by John Harrison has become a fan favorite amongst film music lovers, horror fans, and record collectors, thus being re-pressed and selling out almost immediately upon release on both occasions.
Packaging details include 2xLP 180 gram colored vinyl with variants correlating to stories within the film, old style tip-on gatefold jackets with a built in booklet featuring liner notes by composer Les Reed, and an LP package that is jam-packed with all new artwork by Ghoulish Gary Pullin!

"...(Blues In Orbit is) an album worth tracking down, if only to hear the band run through a lighter side of its sound -- indeed, it captures the essence of a late-night recording date that was as much a loose jam as a formal studio date, balancing the spontaneity of the former and the technical polish of the latter." - Bruce Eder, Allmusic.com

The Times They Are A-Changin' (Mono)The Times They Are A-Changin' on Numbered Limited Edition 180 Gram 45RPM Mono Vinyl 2LP from Mobile Fidelity
Stark, Austere, Acoustic Record Dylan's First With All-Original Material
Title Track, "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll," "With God on Our Side" Establish Dylan as Voice of Social Consciousness
The Bard Addresses Issues Such as Equality, Racism, and Poverty and Helps Ignite 1960s Political Movements
Strictly Limited to 3,000 Copies and Mastered from the Original Master Tapes, Mobile Fidelity's 45RPM Mono Vinyl Set Presents Dylan's Voice, Guitar, and Harmonica in Superlative Sound
Immediately distinguished by the direct mono sound and you're-either-with-us-or-against-us messages of the landmark title track, Bob Dylan's The Times They Are A Changin' sounds an unmistakable clarion call on behalf of progress and its unstoppable advancement. One of the Bard's trademark songs, it remains a timeless anthem with a clear sense of common purpose, a musical line in the sand that helped unite various social movements and multiple generations. The reverential 1964 record feeds off the opening tune and its unmistakable sentiments, marching forward to confront racism, poverty, injustice, and upheaval in a stark, immediate manner like few albums before or since.
Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed on 180g LP at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's restored 45RPM analog version delivers the landscape-shifting music in reference-quality mono sound that transports you to Columbia's Studio A. Reflecting the austerity of the topics and Dylan's mood, the sonics are direct and unadorned—each word hitting with weight, each phrase lingering until it pulls you under, each storyline echoing as fact. The hollow body of Dylan's guitar, internal mechanisms of his harmonica, and graininess of his throat come across in full-on detail. Wider grooves mean more information reaches your ears.
As the preferred mix at the time of the recording, the mono version presents Dylan as he and his producers originally intended. Since the separation of the stereo versions isn’t as sharp, the mono edition places Dylan’s vocals in the heart of the musical action and as one with the accompaniment. It paints listeners an incredibly accurate portrait of the attention-getting, concrete mass of sound that features no artificial panning and straight-ahead immersion into the music. This is how almost everyone first heard this timeless album—making the mono mix all the more historically valuable and truthful.
Marking a shift from the looseness and comedy that pepper the preceding The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, The Times They Are A-Changin' skirts any attempt at humor, sarcasm, or goofiness in favor of utmost seriousness and severity. Seemingly anticipating the dark events surrounding President Kennedy's assassination and the turmoil that followed, Dylan eliminates with conjecture and disguise. Akin to dispatches from the typewriter of literary icons John Steinbeck and William Faulkner, his songs give voices to the voiceless, challenge cultural precepts, upend traditional beliefs with rapier wit and truths, and underline tragedies swept under the rug.
In doing so, Dylan creates stinging protest music that rallies against unchecked authority, discrimination, brutality, and division. A testament to the power of great art, The Times They Are A-Changin' is a righteous assault on ignorance and agent for sweeping action, a necessary impetus for transformation and enlightenment. Via bold originals such as the nonfiction "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll," assertive "Restless Farewell," and semi-autobiographical "North Country Blues," Dylan casts hardships, greed, and victimization in such relatable terms it's impossible to turn away and ignore their implications.
As correctly relayed by Dylan expert and cultural critic Greil Marcus, "[The record] forever fixed Bob Dylan in the popular imagination: the protest singer, the young man 'able to see through metal' (again, from Chronicles), to see through the lie and find the truth, then to hammer the truth into words and send them out with a voice that would never break."

Sorcerer1967 Post-Bop Classic the Third of Five Albums from Miles’ Prized Second Quintet
Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Sorcerer Has Never Sounded More Dynamic, Present, Warm, or Tonally Rich
Mood, Inflection, and Nuance Take Center Stage on Compositions Steeped in Sophisticated Expressionism
Filled with aural magic and enchanting musical spells, Sorcerer is true to its name. The third of five albums devised by Miles Davis’ legendary second quintet—and the second record in a still-unprecedented string of eight consecutive releases within a four-year period that forever changed the face of jazz—the 1967 magnum opus mesmerizes with instrumental colors, subdued musings, and subtle details. These crucial characteristics blossom with vibrant realism on Mobile Fidelity’s definitive 45RPM pressing.
Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed on 180g 45RPM vinyl at RTI, this collectable audiophile edition of Sorcerer joins the ranks of eleven other essential Davis records given supreme sonic and packaging treatment by Mobile Fidelity. Longtime listeners will immediately recognize a wealth of information and depth of tonality unavailable on prior versions. The myriad shadings, interwoven textures, and relaxed nuances that tie the post-bop set’s warm compositions together are rendered with utmost realism.
This is a reference-standard reissue. You’ll hear poetic lyricism pouring out of Wayne Shorter’s horn, the breadth and definition of the notes spreading across an enormous soundstage. Never before have drummer Tony Williams’ rim shots ricocheted with such purpose or his light percussive work mirrored that of a feather touching skin. Similarly, Herbie Hancock’s piano runs now occupy their own space, where their relationship to the central rhythms and front line becomes clearer.
Prizing inflection and nuance more so than heady solos or uptempo flights, Sorcerer mesmerizes with cerebral properties and cascades of emotional interplay. Such beauty emerges in the mellow ballad “Pee Wee,” an indelible statement of restrained authority and sophisticated expression. The swirling title track unfolds as jazz shadowplay, Hancock, Shorter, and Williams mirroring one another’s moves with guile and purpose. The opening “Prince of Darkness” showcases the ensemble’s reach and communication, every musician going in seemingly different directions yet ending up on the same page.
A lasting example of Davis’ visionary insight, Sorcerer is comprised entirely of pieces written by his band mates. Indeed, save for the closing “Nothing Like You”—a brief tribute to Davis’ eventual wife, who also graces the cover, recorded in 1962 and adorned with vocals from Bob Dorough—the album represents a further maturation and refinement of a quintet that stands as one of the finest in jazz history. Mobile Fidelity is proud to give the record the treatment it’s long deserved.

Whistle StopBlue Note Reissue
As much as I'd love to relay all kinds of anecdotes about the challenges Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray encounter during the mastering sessions, I witness none. These boys know the sound of the facility and the Van Gelder masters like the backs of their hands. Back home a month later, I unpack some test pressings Chad Kassem has sent me. I hear the most realistic-sounding drums ever reproduced by my system. It's as though I'm sitting at the point of creation, experiencing the same high that brought such gifted musicians together as one. Steve Hoffman, Kevin Gray, Chad Kassem, and Don MacInnis have done Rudy Van Gelder and his Blue Note artists proud. Jason Victor Serinus, Stereophile, April 2008
...these first five Acoustic Sounds Blue Note re-issues are pure bop genius...The best news is that Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman were keen enough to do nothing more than gently clean up the masters, bringing us even closer to the hard bop edge. The 45 rpm pressings that I received were all super quiet with every last drop of resolution from the master tapes. I had almost forgotten just how good Paul Chambers and Phil Joe were together as the backbone of these groups. I've always loved this music but I didn't remember it sounding this good! Hank Mobley offers us some brilliant sax bits on one of Kenny Dorham's finest recordings, Whistle Stop and Dexter Gordon's performance blew me away as well. The biggest surprise were the Lee Morgan records. I suggest turning these up loud, since they possess unlimited energy and some hooks that will knock you out. Amazing! Just a small warning: Once you start playing these Blue Note recordings you will be hooked. The good news is that Acoustic Sounds is working on at least 20 more of these jazz gems. So make sure your turntable has a setting for 45 rpm, clean your stylus occassionally, and get ready to be transported to nirvana. - Dan Babineau, Tone Audio, No. 14 2008, www.tonepublications.com
Rightfully considered one of Kenny Dorham's best, this album features great originals and great trumpet playing. The superb cast consists of Hank Mobley, Kenny Drew, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. The title tune and Philly Twist are often heard, but the entire album represents a great composing achievement for KD.

Tokyo Blues, a quintessential mid-'60s Blue Note session, is Horace Silver's tribute to the Japanese people who have long supported his funky, Latin-flavored modern jazz. American jazz has always been wildly popular in Japan, and this album is Silver's homage to the many fans that he has encountered on various triumphant tours of the island nation. While Silver's trademark funky Latin/swing is at the forefront, the inspiration of eastern delights is clearly evident in all aspects of this grooving date.

xRed Garland Trio
GroovyRed Garland and Miles Davis had a symbiotic relationship. Red was such an important cog in the Davis quintet as a soloist, interactive accompanist and keeper of the repertory. Being in Miles' group gave Garland the exposure he otherwise would not have gotten. Once Garland's talent as a pianist, with a boundless repository of material in his head, was established, Prestige's Bob Weinstock signed him to a contract as a recording leader in his own right. With his Davis section-mate, Paul Chambers, on bass, and New York drummer Arthur Taylor, Garland formed a trio that met quite often in Rudy Van Gelder's studio. Groovy was the third in Red's trio series for Prestige and it has the usual fine mix of jazz standards, ballad standards, blues ballads and just plain blues. It is an object lesson in finding and maintaining a groove.
