Lynyrd Skynyrd is the ultimate Southern Rock band. Their signature three guitar attack coupled to superb
songwriting and massive on stage charisma has rightfully earned them a reputation as one of the greatest live
bands of all time. The original band infamously had their career cut short by a disastrous plane crash in 1977 which
took the lives of three members plus two of their road crew and seriously injured several others.
In 1987 the surviving members reformed the band with Johnny Van Zant taking the place of his brother Ronnie. This concert from 1996 captures the band on top form at Rockpalast’s Loreley Festival on June 23, 1996.

The concert was recorded in Munich on October 20, 1977, originally filmed to air on the German TV "Rockpalast" show. Repeated airings have led to numerous bootleg video and audio tapes of the show being available through the 80's and 90's. Although some fans believed that this set came from the same tour as the previously released On Stage (which was mostly culled from their 1976 Japanese tour), the performance on this release is actually from their 1977 European tour, a few months prior to the release of "Long Live Rock n' Roll", and thus features a different bass-player and keyboardist.

1984 saw the long-awaited reunion of the classic Deep Purple Mark II line-up of Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord and Ian Paice. It
was the first time they had been together since 1973. They recorded a brand new studio album, “Perfect Strangers” and headed out on tour. This show
was recorded in Sydney, Australia and is the only full length concert film of the band at this time. It’s a stunning concert with the band in incendiary form.
The setlist mixes then new tracks from the “Perfect Strangers” album with favorites from the early seventies culminating in the brilliant “Smoke On The
Water” finale. This is without doubt one of the finest Deep Purple concerts ever captured and a must have for their legions of fans, and includes a DVD
containing the only footage available from the “Perfect Strangers” tour featuring the reunion of the classic Mark II line-up plus a bonus tour documentary.
