PhantasmagoriaGreyhaze Records is proud to announce the forthcoming reissue of THE MIST’s Phantasmagoria. The Brazilian Thrashers originally released this amazing album in 1989. Featuring the influential vocals of Vladmir Korg (original singer of CHAKAL) and the pure thrash fury for which Brazil is known, Phantasmagoria will now get a proper worldwide release on vinyl LP, a long-awaited offering to all true fans of the genre!
Upon its 1989 release, Phantasmagoria was a departure from what was being done by bands from the city of Belo Horizonte up to that point. The album showed a thrash attack that was as vicious as it was precise. Drummer Cristiano Salles’ relentless thrash beat coupled with Korg’s unmistakable higher-pitched guttural vocals set the tone of an album that had everything to become a big album. Sadly, it was not to achieve the recognition that it deserved. Over the years it circulated through the metal world as somewhat of an obscure collector’s item. Now with this Greyhaze reissue, Phantasmagoria gets its overdue North American and European official release!1. Flying Saucers In the Sky

Inri (Awaiting Repress)From dark and primitive origins comes this highly refined and directed musical statement, both aesthetically and musically wrought from the primal polarities of angst, rendered into simple but effective fast, furious, and cryptic black metal.
Similar in many ways to Sodom or Massacra, this music features floating highspeed riffs from which pseudopods of dogmatic rhythm emerge to stamp out their defiant message. The last seconds of the title track, "Fuck you...fuck you!...fuck you, Jesus Christ" exemplify the paradox of this album: raw punkness contrasting with the need for ideology.
Guitar seems haphazard, solos in the afterthought tradition of Bathory and early Burzum, but delivers the rapid trembling hand rhythm of soaring metallic riffs and melodies.
Underneath bangs a primitive and ill-programmed mechanistic beat which might be dubbed "Rudiments of Rhythmic Awareness for Context" and left to the abyss. How are these riffs? Simple fluid note wraparounds racing toward a tonal note...some center...some context...or maybe simply giving up. They fit in a narrow compositional sense of lucidity in this entity, alone, and work together for the power of its unique countenance.
At their core musicians inspired by punk music, Sarcofago blend with their hardcore the moron-rock destructiveness and theatrical pro-Satan anti-life program of heavy metal black metal bands, creating an over-the-top image imbued in the anti-aesthetic style of resistance and hatred to all which would accept it, protecting virus of dark spiritual nature to recipient human listeners. Variations of few elements project ideas: some profound, some careless, some inspired, some vapid.

GoetiaMYSTIFIER is an extreme Metal pioneer from Brazil, formed in July of 1989 by the bassist Beelzeebubth. When Beelzeebubth met Meugninousouan (vocalist), Behemoth (guitarist), and Lucifuge Rofocale (drummer), they decided to form one of the most extreme Metal bands from South American lands. After five months of development, they recorded their first Demo-tape entitled “TORMENTING THE HOLY TRINITY”, with nine original songs and a cover song “Massacre” from Bathory’s third album. The response was so positive that Maniac Records (a small vinyl record store from their hometown) invited the band to record two original songs for a single. Mystifier eagerly agreed. In July of 1990, the single, “THE EVIL ASCENSION RETURNS” was released. They were the first Metal band from their town (Salvador, Bahia) to release material onto a label. Following this release, some Brazilian labels were very interested in working with Mystifier. Then, in July of 1991, they recorded a promo-tape entitled “ALEISTER CROWLEY” with six fresh songs to present to other labels.
In February/1992, the hard work had paid-off and their debut album “WICCA” was released on the label Hellion Records. It is considered one of the most extreme albums to date for many true fans of Extreme Metal Music. After the releasing of their debut album, Beelzeebubth fired Meugninousouan because of his lack of interest. Asmodeus (ex-Hatred) was recruited to be the new vocalist and keyboardist. In that same time, Astaroth (ex-Calvary) joined them on the second lead guitar.
During those years, the band gained enormous worldwide underground notoriety. It drew the attention of the French label Osmose Productions which signed the band for two albums. The first was released in the November of 1993, with worldwide distribution through SPV, entitled “GÖETIA” [several months later, their debut album was also released in Europe on Osmose Productions.] The response was a European tour request from the tour promoter Insolit – and many reviews, articles, interviews, and so forth – in international magazines and radio stations. After that release, Mystifier played in many Brazilian areas to promote the new release.
Behemoth and Astaroth had to quit the band because of personal reasons and weren’t interested in maintaining a band. Paulo Lisboa (who had played in Death Metal bands for years) replaced them on the lead-guitar.
Beelzeebubth was very disappointed with the Underground scene, corroded with hypocritical ‘satanic christians’ who were talking a lot of shit about Satanism, fascism, racism and nazi thoughts. For that reason, he canceled the release of Mystifier’s third album. He composed new and powerful music. Later, in August of 1996, their masterpiece third album entitled, “THE WORLD IS SO GOOD THAT WHO MADE IT DOESN’T LIVE HERE” was released with six new tracks. It’s their greatest produced and recorded material; it is totally original and different from their previous releases.
With a new lineup, Mystifier released an EP with seven fresh songs and a re-done version of “Beelzeebubth” (from the second album), on a Brazilian label, to celebrate their 10 years. The single was entitled “DEMYSTIFYING THE MYSTIFIED ONES (FOR A DECADE IN THE EARTHLY PARADISE).”
The band released their fourth full-length album entitled “Profanus” in September/2001 with 13 fresh compositions on a Brazilian label called Encore Records.
Now, Mystifier has signed with Greyhaze Records in a deal that initially involves the reissues of Wicca and Goetia.1. Aleister Crowley and Ordo Templi Orientis

Warfare NoiseGreyhaze Records has announced North American release of the vinyl LP reissue of Warfare Noise, the seminal four-way split album featuring Brazilian extreme metal greats SARCOFAGO, CHAKAL, HOLOCAUSTO, and MUTILATOR.
Originally released in 1986 via legendary Brazilian metal label Cogumelo Records, the album's original masters had lost much of their audio prowess due to the long amount of time elapsed since its first release. This new album reissue, however, was carefully restored by mastering engineer Dave Eck and is, once again, available the same way as it was over two decades ago. The savage output of all four bands can be heard just as in the original version.
The packaging of this reissue was also carefully restored by graphic artist Fernando Lima and is now available as a faithful representation of the 1986 release. Aside from the insert, the packaging also includes a special poster with a depiction of the concert flier for the Warfare Noise release show which took place in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1986 featuring all four bands.
Despite having been out of print for decades, the Warfare Noise compilation is one of the most important documents of early Brazilian metal. It features bands that have played an important role in the development of black and death metal including important influence in bands such as MAYHEM, DARKTHRONE, BLASPHEMY, and BEHERIT. The vinyl LP version features the original eight tracks from that album. The compilation is also one of the first albums ever released by Cogumelo Records, who was responsible for the first releases by metal giants SEPULTURA.1. Cursed Cross (Chakal)
