Good Stuff features the same musicians who contributed to the success of Spirit & The Blues, including the gospel quartet The Deacons. Bibb wrote ten of the fourteen songs himself, with credits shared on three of the others and the remaining instrumental "Blacksmith Island" was written by the band Needed Time. In style, the album has retained the musical breadth of Spirit & The Blues while being a little more bluesy in feeling. Also included are the radio singles "Shingle By Shingle" and "Good Stuff."

Among those included in this widely varied 19 tracks are: the outstanding blues singer and songwriter Eric Bibb whose recordings with Opus 3 have received the world-wide recognition he so richly deserves, the fantastic blues-rock slide-guitarist Peder af Ugglas, the versatile pop/funk/jazz guitarist (and Fender Rhodes keyboard artist), East (Bert Ostlund), and the young talented jazz vocalist Maria Winther accompanied by the elite of Sweden's jazz musicians. Also included is the renowned swing-vibraphonist Lars Erstrand, pus another world-class musician Hammond B3 organist Kjell Ohman.

The basic concept of Blues, Ballads & Work Songs was to cover the complete range of traditional folk/blues songs which were an inherent part of Eric's childhood up to the present day with his own inimitable compositions.

"Blues, Ballads & Work Songs is an album I have been working on for most of my life. Its release coincides with my 60th birthday and it celebrates the music that first inspired me to become a guitar-playing singer. Being as passionate about writing songs as I am about singing and playing traditional material, I couldn't resist including the self-penned tunes at the end of the record. These newer songs, are the 'children' of the older ones."

As always, Opus 3 Records has strived to achieve the authentic sound which Eric has always loved and it is worth noting that the recordings for Blues, Ballads & Work Songs were made using the very same Valve Stereo-Microphone as on his first album!
