Born near Detroit, Michigan, Marshall Crenshaw began playing guitar at age ten and he received his first break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of Beatlemania. In 1987, he played Buddy Holly in the Richie Valens biopic "La Bamba." While living in NYC, he recorded the single "Something's Gonna Happen" for Alan Betrock's Shake Records, which led to a deal with Warner Bros. His debut album, Marshall Crenshaw was acclaimed as a pop masterpiece upon its release in 1982 and established him as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. The record spawned the Top 40 single "Someday, Someway," which rockabilly singer Robert Gordon covered and scored a hit with a year earlier, and other classics such as "(You're My) Favorite Waste of Time," "Whenever You're On My Mind" and "Cynical Girl." The great songs continued with the Life's Too Short album on MCA ("Fantastic Planet of Love"), three albums for Razor & Tie and the 2009 release Jaggedland ("Someone Told Me," "Passing Through," "Never Coming Down

A quote from Trouser Press sums up Marshall Crenshaw's early career: "Although he was seen as a latter-day Buddy Holly at the outset, he soon proved too talented and original to be anyone but himself." All Music Guide captured Crenshaw's vibe perfectly: "He writes songs that are melodic, hooky and emotionally true, and he sings and plays them with an honesty and force that still finds room for humor without venom."

"His intelligence, integrity, and passion for the great song always show up in his music," wrote Robert Christgau in his Consumer Guide of Marshall Crenshaw. Over a span of 30 years, Crenshaw has released 13 albums, all of which have received the highest marks from critics and have earned him a fiercely loyal fan base.

"I wanted to think of a different way of working that would inspire me and keep me motivated," Marshall Crenshaw says of his newest endeavor: a subscription-only service that addresses the recent seismic changes in the music-industry landscape by cutting out the record-company middle man to distribute his new recordings directly to fans.

The subscription service, which the veteran singer/guitarist/songwriter/producer recently launched via a successful Kickstarter funding campaign, will provide fans with a steady stream of new Marshall Crenshaw music via a series of exclusive three-song 10-inch, 45-rpm vinyl EPs on Addie-Ville Records, six of which the artist plans to release over a two-year period.

Each EP will consist entirely of newly recorded, never-before-released material, encompassing a new original Crenshaw composition, a classic cover tune, and a new reworking of a time-honored favorite.

"I really do think that vinyl sounds best, and that playing a vinyl record is still the optimum listening experience," Crenshaw asserts. "And with the sound quality that you get at 45 rpm, I think that these things are going to deliver the goods, sonically."

All three tracks were mastered for maximum awesomeness by legendary engineer Greg Calbi, who will handle mastering duties on the entire EP series.

Deluxe Tip-On Gatefold Jacket From Stoughton Printing

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearant Audio

Stereo Mix Produced By Mark Linett Under The Supervision Of Brian Wilson

The ultimate pressing of The Beach Boys' iconic album from Analogue Productions!
Pet Sounds, the 11th studio album by The Beach Boys, is acclaimed by critics
and musicians alike as one of the most influential works in the history of popular
music. Brian Wilson wrote and composed almost all of the songs - mono
mixes created under Wilson's supervision were how the surf rockin' California
crew rose to fame, and now Analogue Productions brings them to you with THE
definitive Pet Sounds reissue on 200-gram vinyl at 45 RPM pressed at Quality
Record Pressings. You get to choose - either the mono or stereo album version,
    or both!

The reception for our previously-issued 33 1/3 version drew praise from reviewer
Michael Fremer of AnalogPlanet.com who wrote: "The instrumental separation
and front-to-back layering is nothing short of astonishing compared to the pleasing
mush offered up by other editions." Acclaimed mastering engineer Kevin
Gray has been able to extract details heretofore uncaptured from the tape with
Brian Wilson's original mono mix "and present it in a way that is pleasing and
natural to the ear," wrote Lee Dempsey, for Endless Summer Quarterly.

Our stereo version was mixed from an assembled digital multi-track master that
synced the original 4-track master instrumental with the 4 or 8-track vocal overdub
master. The stereo mix was mixed to 15 ips 1/4" analog tape with SR noise reduction.

Even better, the 45 RPM versions of this historical musical masterpiece makes your
cartridge a near-perfect tracker by way of reduction of inner-groove distortion, a
clear sonic advantage. You get two 200-gram LPs in a beautiful tip-on gatefold
    jacket from Stoughton Printing.

Pet Sounds is famous for its use of multiple layers of unorthodox instrumentation as
well as other cutting edge audio techniques for its time. Conventional keyboards
and guitars were combined with exotic touches of orchestrated strings, bicycle
bells, buzzing organs, harpsichords, flutes, Theremin, Hawaiian-sounding string instruments,
Coca-Cola cans, barking dogs, and more. This classic has some of the
group's most stunning melodies - "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "God Only Knows," "Caroline
No," and "Sloop John B" (the last of which wasn't originally intended to go on
the album) are the well-known hits, but equally worthy are "You Still Believe in Me,"
"Don't Talk," "I Know There's an Answer," and "I Just Wasn't Made for These Times."

VH-1 named Pet Sounds as the No. 3 album in the Top 100 Albums in Rock 'n'
Roll History, as judged in a poll of musicians, executives and journalists. It's been
ranked No. 1 in several music magazines' lists of the greatest albums of all time,
including NME, The Times and Mojo Magazine. It was ranked No. 2 in Rolling
Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

The Ultimate Pressings Of The Beach Boys Discography From Analogue Productions!

    Audio Production - Mark Linett

For Brother Records - Elliott Lott

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio, Most From The Original Master Tapes Or Best Sources Available

    Double LP 45 RPM Pressing!

Lacquer Plating By Gary Salstrom And 200-Gram Vinyl Pressing By Quality Record Pressings!

A musical legacy that began in Hawthorne, California and went on to conquer the world. Analogue Productions presents the ultimate pressings of 14 essential Beach Boys albums! Mastered by Kevin Gray, most from the original master tapes, and plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings, the finest LP pressing facility in the world, these are awesome recordings to experience. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in old school Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time-honored favorites shine brighter than the originals!

Surfer Girl, the Beach Boys' third album for Capitol Records, was the first produced by Brian Wilson on his own (the previous two, Surfin Safari and Surfin USA (Mono & Stereo Remasters), were co-produced by the late Capitol A&R man, Nick Venet). This album was The Boys' first really great effort; there's not a bad track in the lot, including the title song, Catch A Wave, In My Room, Hawaii, Our Car Club, Little Deuce Coupe, Your Summer Dream, and more.

Apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master.

The stereo editions of Surfin' USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Shut Down Vol. 2, All Summer Long, Beach Boys Christmas Album and Beach Boys Concert were all mixed in stereo by their own preferred engineer, Chuck Britz, ostensibly under the group's supervision.

Brian may or may not have been present for those mixing sessions - evidence suggests that he trusted Chuck's skills enough to let him prepare those mixes on his own - but the group held onto their multitrack tapes and delivered stereo masters to Capitol, rather than allowing Capitol to prepare their own stereo versions. Later, when Brian was only delivering mono masters, Capitol would prepare the Duophonic pseudo stereo editions for the stereo market, says Alan Boyd, producer and Beach Boys' archivist.

The Beach Boys' practice of double-tracking their vocals really lends itself to stereo mixes. Split left and right, as they are on a lot of those early stereo versions, those doubled vocal parts can really envelop the listener, surrounding them with Wilsons, Loves and Jardines!

All of the newer stereo mixes on these remastered albums (The Beach Boys Today!, Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!), The Beach Boys' Party, Pet Sounds and Smiley Smile) were all done by Mark Linett on behalf of the Beach Boys.

2131 South Michigan Avenue: 60's Garage And Psychedelia From USA And Destination Records

Though the 60s garage band explosion was felt in every corner ofthe country, the local uprising of talent in Chicago thrived unlike anywhere else. The Windy City had the perfect infrastructure in place; from a booming population of teenagers, to hip music stores in every suburb, a proliferation of teen clubs willing to take their money, and a powerhouse radio station (WLS) equally up to promoting local bands. When it came to giving local groups a shot at 45 rpm fame, no Chicago labelnot even the hallowed Dunwich Recordswas more prolific than USA Records. USAs Jim Golden was such a strong supporter of Midwest talent that he started up a second label focused solely in this area, Destination Records.

A quarter century into the CD age, its hard to believe these pivotal labels have never been properly anthologized. Until now, that is! Sundazed once again arrives to the rescue with an exhaustive dive into the pure, undiluted garage side of USA and Destination Records; tapping into everything from priceless artifacts from the Lost Agency, the Foggy Notions, and Park Avenue Playground to label hitmakers the Buckinghams, the Cryan Shames, and the Flock at their most rockin. Theres so much impossibly great music on these labels, we had to expand this collection to 40 tracks.

The album artwork is stuffed with rare photos, band bios, and an interview with the legendary Jim Golden. For a full course of Chicago 66 garage at its finest, look no further than 2131 South Michigan Avenue: 60s Garage & Psychedelia from USA and Destination Records!

    Nuthin' Fancy (45 RPM)

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio

200-Gram 45 RPM Vinyl Pressing By Quality Record Pressings!

    Deluxe Gatefold Jacket

The title may say Nuthin' Fancy but don't be deceived! This 200-gram stunner pressed at Quality Record Pressings is nearly peerless as a Southern rock record. Expertly remastered by Kevin Gray, lacquer plating by master technician Gary Salstrom, heavy cardboard gatefold jacket with vibrantly reproduced original artwork. How does it get any better? As the Ultimate-Guitar.com put it: Most hard rock bands would give their left arm for a record that swaggers and hits as hard as Nuthin' Fancy.

Second Helping brought Lynyrd Skynyrd mass success and for the follow-up they offered Nuthin' Fancy. It was a self-deprecating title for a record that may have offered more of the same, at least on the surface, but was still nearly peerless as a Southern rock record. The biggest difference with this record is that the band, through touring, has become heavier and harder, fitting right in with the heavy album rock bands of the mid-'70s. The second notable difference is that Ronnie Van Zant may have been pressed for material, since there are several songs here that are just good generic rockers. But he and Skynyrd prove that what makes a great band great is how they treat generic material, and Skynyrd makes the whole of Nuthin' Fancy feel every bit as convincing as their first two records.

That Rich, Humid, Giant Sax Tone Blooms Like On Few Other Webster Recordings

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio

200-Gram Gatefold 45 RPM Double LP Pressed At Quality Record Pressings

...Webster's trademark sensual sound is on full display and, of course, he's backed by Montoliu, an outstanding Spanish piano veteran who accompanied all the great jazz artists passing through Europe...This is one of the first releases by Analogue Productions pressed at their new in-house pressing plant Quality Record Pressings, and the record bears a close resemblance in appearance to records from Pallas - beautiful looking and perfectly quiet...The superb 200-gram LP comes in a rice paper sleeve and jacket of heavy cardboard...Highest Recommendation. Recording = 10/10; Music = 8.5/10 - Dennis D. Davis, Hi-Fi+, Issue 81

This recording was made 10 months before Ben Webster's death in 1972. Webster, who had left the United States in 1965 to settle in Europe - first in Copenhagen and then in Amsterdam - was visiting fellow musician and friend Tete Montoliu in Barcelona. Webster and pianist Montoliu went back a ways, having played together regularly in Webster's Copenhagen days. In fact, Montoliu cited Webster and Don Byas as his two chief musical influences. Webster and Montoliu understood each other deeply, and their comfort with on another is palpable in this recording. Their accompaniment of one another is seamless. On board with these two is Montoliu's regular working trio-mates, Eric Peter on bass and Peer Wyboris on drums.

There's no shortage of Webster's trademark breathy, fat tenor tone here. In fact, given the sparse arrangement, that rich, humid, giant sax blooms like on few other recordings. Highlights include Ben's Blues, Sweet Georgia Brown, The Man I Love and Don't Blame Me.

    Second Helping (45 RPM)

200-Gram 45 RPM Vinyl Pressing By Quality Record Pressings!

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio

    Sleeved In A Tip-On Jacket

MoFi may have the rest of their catalogue, but Chad Kassem's coup is grabbing this album, the band's second, from 1974. Why? Because it kicks off with their anthem, the inimitable, riff-driven, majestic 'Sweet Home Alabama' - one of the greatest air-guitar/road trip songs ever. By this time, the band was a mite slicker but just as unapologetically Confederate-with-a-capital 'C' as on their debut. The opener does overshadow the rest, but the album serves up what the LP title promises in 'The Needle And The Spoon,' which sounds like 'Sweet Home Alabama II.' Musically, this nestles alongside Little Feat and The Allman Brothers Band - deservedly high praise. - Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News, April 2014

Get ready for some Southern hospitality, courtesy of Analogue Productions, Quality Record Pressings and one of the hardest-rocking bands to ever grace a stage! With a catalog of over 60 albums and sales beyond 30 million, Lynyrd Skynyrd remains a cultural icon that appeals to all generations.

This Lynyrd Skynyrd 1974 album follows the success of Free Bird and Gimme Three Steps from their 1973 debut and features their biggest hit single, Sweet Home Alabama, an answer to Neil Young's Southern Man and Alabama. The song reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1974. Second Helping also featured Don't Ask Me No Questions, Workin' for MCA and Call Me The Breeze, the latter of which includes an acclaimed piano solo. Backed by a tight rhythm section and the mighty three-guitar attack of Allen Collins, Ed King and Gary Rossington, singer Ronnie Van Zant turns in a legendary performance on the urgent blues ballad I Need You, the cautionary The Needle And The Spoon and The Ballad Of Curtis Loew. 200-gram vinyl, mastering by Kevin Gray, lacquer plating by QRP's Gary Salstrom, heavy, tip-on gatefold jacket. None better.

    Breaking Silence (45 RPM)

Mastered For 45 RPM By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio From The Original Analog Master Tapes!

200-Gram, 45 RPM Vinyl Pressing By Quality Record Pressings!

Tip-On Gatefold Jacket With Janis' Pure Voice And Personal Songs Spread Across Four Sides!

This album finds Janis' voice in its purest, most vital form ever. The tracks were recorded as live as possible without sounding retro. This 1992 all-analogue recording, praised as much for the artist's too infrequently heard talents as for its recorded dynamics, is now available on the medium that is a natural: 200-gram vinyl!

The audiophile LP version reflects what the two top bibles of high-end audio decree as an impeccable production that has come to be regarded as a high-fidelity reference. Matched with Ian's very personal songs, delivered in a voice that draws you in close in confidence, Breaking Silence is one of the very few recordings of recent years that by reproducing a pure analogue sound, has attained true audiophile status.

    Technical Data:

Tracks were recorded at Nightingale Studio on a Studer 820, 24-track machine, 30 IPS, non-dolby, at the elevation of +6/250 nu using Ampex 499 tape.

Included among the mics used on the recording dates were: Neumann M-49, AKG C-12, Telefunken 251, Sheffield C-9 and a custom built tube direct box on the bass. Janis' vocal was recorded using a Telefunken U-47 and a Mastering Lab mic preamp, linked with series-one Monster Cable direct to the back of the multi-track machine with no EQ or Limiting.

The album was mixed at Bill Schnee Studio to an Ampex ATR 1/2 machine, at 30 IPS, non-dolby, at the elevation of +3/250 nu on Ampex 499 tape. The reverb on the album was an EMT tube plate used along with natural room sounds captured in the recording. During the mixing of the album, Some People's Lives was recorded direct to two-track using the same vocal chain as above and Telefunken 251's on the piano. Take number two was used as the album cut. The album was mixed using Mastering Lab modified Tannoy SGM-10's powered by Sherwood-Sax mono-block tube amps.

Produced, engineered and mixed by Jeff Balding.

For more information on Little Girl Blue and the life and times of Nina Simone, see Princess Noire: The Tumultuous Reign of Nina Simone by Nadine Cohodas, The University of North Carolina Press, 2010.

Little Girl Blue was Nina Simone's debut release. Bethlehem founder Gus Wildi, taken with the uniquely beautiful quality of her voice, gave her complete control over song selection, backing musicians, arrangements and production of the recording. Nina and her rhythm section recorded the entire album plus three additional tracks in just one session. In her biography of Nina, Nadine Cohodas recounts engineer Irv Greeenbaum's recollection of that day: Nothing like Nina's artistry had ever happened before ... Her voice and the keyboard playing were so rich and interesting that they could have stood alone.

Little Girl Blue documents Nina Simone's unparalleled and idiosyncratic musical persona at a particularly vibrant, formative stage, and helped launch her on a trajectory with more than its share of personal and professional trials and triumphs.

A Historic Record - Recorded Just Four Years Removed From The Dawn Of The Analog Tape Era!

Remastered By Ryan Smith At Sterling Sound From The Original Analog Tapes

Recorded On An Ampex 200, Using 3M-111 Magnetic Tape Running At 15 Inches Per Second

Gatefold Old-School Tip-on On Jacket By Stoughton Printing Plated And Pressed At Quality Record Pressings!

Named A 2015 Record To Die For By Stereophile Magazine.

Remastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog tapes, the record was plated and pressed at Quality Record Pressings. The depth and space when those rich chromatic harmonies create a wide and well-defined soundscape, the timbre of the orchestra as a whole as well as individual instruments, and the thick, wooden sound of Wendell Marshall's bass are among the aural pleasures provided when you drop a needle on this platter; expect goose bumps. - Music = 5/5; Sonics = 4.5/5 - Jeff Wilson, The Absolute Sound, May-June 2015.

I chose the CD reissue of this album as one of my R2D4s for 2012, but now from Chad Kassem's Analogue Productions comes this QRP LP, and it's an occasion for popping corks. Released in 1950, this was Ellington's first LP, and he used the new medium to stretch out four of his biggest hits. The arrangements are jaw-droppingly gorgeous and the sound just slightly less so. Recorded by Fred Plaut, who later miked Kind of Blue and other Columbia classics, it has the dynamics, depth, and in-your-face tonal realism of a modern (mono) audiophile thumper. Among the best jazz albums ever. - Fred Kaplan, for Stereophile - Records To Die For - February 2015.

This new re-issue slays my vintage copy in every way. Every dimension of the recording was much better...dynamics, harmonics, frequency response, detail, jump...all just leaped out at me! The recording sounded like it had been made that morning...absolutely fresh-sounding. No veiling. No roll-off. In fact, it's so good that it doesn't matter that this is a mono recording! Listen to it on a great turntable...you'll hear mono that fools you into thinking that it's not mono. Just wait until you hear Yvonne Lanauze sing, Mood Indigo amigos, after a long instrumental build-up...she'll take you there! ... The pressing itself was impeccable: flat, and free of noise, tics and pops...a genuine masterpiece of the pressing-plant arts. The Hyperion OCL, the finest cartridge that I've ever heard, revealed how superbly these grooves were carved! Commendable, reference-grade analog...very, very close to master tape sound. Very damned close! Kissing cousins close! Hell, maybe even closer than that. In fact, I now consider the Analogue Productions re-issue of Masterpieces by Ellington to be one of the very finest Jazz records ever released. (Sorry Miles! Move over, Kind of Blue!). - David W. Robinson, editor-in-chief, Positive Feedback Online.

Most highly recommended (the record is now on the QRP presses). It's one of my 'Records to Die For' in the February 2015 Stereophile. A true classic both musically and sonically and a historical work of art you can now own. - Music = 11/11; Sound = 11/11 - Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com.

Passion - Music for The Last Temptation of Christ was released a year after Martin Scorsese's controversy-laden film and tends to be regarded as a work in its own right rather than just being a movie soundtrack. It features additional music than was included in the film; this extra material was the result of Peter continuing to record and to resolve "unfinished ideas," hence the later arrival of the record.

Deluxe Tip-On Gatefold Jacket From Stoughton Printing

On 1989's In Step, Vaughan found his own songwriting voice, blending blues, soul, and rock in unique ways, and writing with startling emotional honesty. Yes, there are a few covers, all well chosen, but the heart of the album rests in the songs he cowrote with Doyle Bramhall, the man who penned the Soul to Soul highlight "Change It." Fueled by a desire to make up for lost time and delight in his reawakened commitment to life and sobriety, Vaughan turned in what many consider his greatest artistic statement, an album ensconced in sweat, soul, determination, and not an ounce of filler.

"Travis Walk" offers a heady rush of flat-picking, "The House is Rockin'" is full-tilt roots-boogie, "Let Me Love You Baby" and "Leave My Girl Alone" are sweet blues epiphanies, and the nine-minute instrumental "Riviera Paradise" is a truly soulful mix of blues and jazz. By now, just a year before his untimely death, Vaughan had also tamed his bawling voice into a rich instrument. In short, this 1989 session is Vaughan at his artistic peak.

In Step remains one of the five greatest blues records of the past quarter century. There's not a link in this chain that wasn't absolute first-rate. The absolute best that money can buy. We're passionate about the blues AND Stevie Ray and the passion shows up here in spades.

The Major Label Debut From Alternative/Power Popsters

2x Vinyl Cut At 45 RPM And Pressed At R.T.I.

    Remastered From Original Tapes

We began our career exactly 30 years prior by releasing a home-recorded cassette called
Failure, which to our complete surprise became an instant favorite around the Northwest,
earning us critical accolades, radio airplay, and major label interest all in a very short time. We
were lucky to fi nd ourselves living just a few doors down the road in Seattle from Arthur "Rick"
Roberts and Mike Musburger, who agreed to join our band on bass and drums, respectively.

Signed to Geffen Records, we recorded our second album Dear 23, and toured the U.S.,
including support tours for both Redd Kross and The Replacements.

These three albums on Geffen remain beloved by our fans; our most popular, most often
cited, most requested works. However, over the years, the CDs have been in and out of print,
there have been inconsistent presences on streaming, the LPs either long out of print or not
issued at all depending on the territory. Dear 23 on CD came out in the early days of the format,
and the older CDs are not exactly true to the analog masters the albums were made on.

Good news: all that's about to change. Dear 23 will be re-issued by Omnivore Recordings
(who have, among many releases new and old, reissued our first album Failure plus releases
by Big Star, Game Theory, etc).

Dear 23 will now stretch across two LPs and will be mastered at 45 RPM. We made the decision
to stick to just the original albums for the vinyl release, and give it room to breathe across
    two glorious slabs of wax.

Willie Nelson has long been honored as a genuine legend,
and his songs and concerts are loved worldwide. Though
his roots are in country, Willie's musical influences are as
broad as the Texas skies, unlimited to any one genre.

"These are my favorite songs. My favorite all-time songs,"
Willie says. "I knew there were millions of people who liked
these songs and would love to hear them again. I grew up
with them... they're some of the first songs I learned to play."
We bring you this distinctive reissue housed in a heavyweight
tip-on, old style gatefold jacket from Stoughton Printing.
Unmatched quality, unmatched sound - that's the way
    Analogue Productions rolls.

Willie ultimately scored big-time with this quintessential
addition to his album catalog. The songs - "Moonlight in
Vermont," "All of Me," "Don't Get Around Much Anymore"
    - are lovingly arranged here by Booker T. Jones of Green
Onions fame and recorded in Nelson's inimitable style in
    Emmylou Harris' house.

Booker T's trademark sound set the mood for the sessions.
Willie and cohorts mine a mellow groove here, sounding
as if Willie is at home, sitting on his porch overlooking the
    beautiful Texas hill country.

Nelson's Stardust remains a genius-level creation as well
as the icon's most commercially successful release, a
truly gorgeous record infused with ultimate respect for
composers and lyrics and many of the finest performances
    of Willie's career.

Herbie Hancock's Masterpiece, Now Cut At 45 RPM!

The Second Highest-Selling Jazz Album Of All Time!

Mastered at Sterling Sound by Ryan Smith

    Stoughton Printing Old-Style Deluxe Film-Lamination Tip-On Jacket

Double LP 200-Gram Discs Plated and Pressed at Quality Record Pressings!

There are few artists in the music industry who have had more influence on acoustic and electronic jazz and R&B than Herbie Hancock.

In 1963, Miles Davis invited Hancock to join the Miles Davis Quintet. During his five years with Davis, Herbie recorded many classics with the jazz legend including ESP, Nefertiti, and Sorcerer, and later on, he made appearances on Davis' groundbreaking In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew.

Hancock's own solo career blossomed on Blue Note, with classic albums including Maiden Voyage, Empyrean Isles and Speak Like a Child. After leaving Davis' fold, Herbie put together a new band called The Headhunters and, in 1973 in San Francisco, recorded Head Hunters.

Head Hunters became not only Hancock's best-selling album but also the second highest selling jazz album of all time (at last RIAA count). It was in 1973 that he gathered a new band to combine electric music with funk, perhaps best exemplified in the pop music of Sly Stone.

Hancock took over all synthesizer duties, along with Fender Rhodes and clavinet and was backed by bass and drums. The opening bars of Watermelon Man with Bill Summers blowing into a beer bottle, along with the band's funky grooves and new electric sounds, captured the crossover fans who had otherwise avoided buying jazz records.

Head Hunters was a pivotal point in Hancock's career, bringing him into the vanguard of jazz fusion. Hancock had pushed avant-garde boundaries on his own albums and with Miles Davis, but he had never devoted himself to the groove as he did on Head Hunters. Drawing heavily from Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield, and James Brown, Hancock developed deeply funky, even gritty, rhythms over which he soloed on electric synthesizers, bringing the instrument to the forefront of jazz. It had all of the sensibilities of jazz, particularly in the way it wound off into long improvisations, but its rhythms were firmly planted in funk, soul, and R&B, giving it a mass appeal that made it the biggest-selling jazz album of all time (a record which was later broken).

Jazz purists, of course, decried the experiments at the time, but Head Hunters still sounds fresh and vital four decades after its initial release, and its genre-bending proved vastly influential on not only jazz, but funk, soul, and hip-hop.

What if. What if everything that you have come to know and worship about the sonic superiority of Quality Record Pressings LPs could be brought to bear on one of the rockingest powerhouses of blues guitar who ever lived?

Then your wish is granted. We're about to rock your world with the greatest Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute ever reissued: Six of Vaughan's most classic album titles combined in the ultimate box set for ultimate blues and guitar fanatics!

With his astonishingly accomplished guitar playing, Stevie Ray Vaughan ignited the blues revival of the '80s. Vaughan drew equally from bluesmen like Albert King, Otis Rush and Hubert Sumlin and rock & roll players like Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack, as well as the stray jazz guitarist like Kenny Burrell, developing a uniquely eclectic and fiery style that sounded like no other guitarist, regardless of genre. Vaughan bridged the gap between blues and rock like no other artist had since the late '60s. For about seven years, Stevie Ray Vaughan was the leading light in American blues, consistently selling out concerts while his albums regularly went gold. His tragic death in 1990 only emphasized his influence in blues and American rock & roll.

This is classic Stevie Ray Vaughan, meticulously remastered from the analog tapes by New York's Sterling Sound. In each set you'll receive Texas Flood, Couldn't Stand the Weather, Soul to Soul, In Step, plus the posthumous classics Family Style and The Sky Is Crying.

Those of you familiar with our previous LP box sets - Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, Creedence Clearwater Revival - and soon to come, The Doors - know how deluxe these sets are. From the detailed liner notes to the rarest photographs, these sets will truly be gems.

The truly luxurious - and ultimate - listening experience can be had on 45 RPM LP. With so few songs on each side and at 45 RPM, your cartridge will capture every last winsome note. The box set will be pressed on 200 gram vinyl at QRP, lauded for its vinyl manufacturing excellence.

Each LP set will come housed in deluxe gatefold jackets that include rarely published, intimate photos - a look inside the career of a legend whose death at age 35 shocked the music world. A few statistics showcase Vaughan's success and musical influence: His debut album Texas Flood, reached No. 38 on the charts, crossing over to rock radio stations. The album's succesor, Couldn't Stand the Weather, released in May 1984, reached No. 31 on the charts; by the end of 1985 it went gold. Vaughan and his band, Double Trouble, recorded their third album, Soul to Soul, released in August 1985, and it reached No. 34 on the charts.

200-Gram Vinyl Pressed At Quality Record Pressings

All-Analog Mastering By Ryan K. Smith At Sterling Sound From The Original Tapes

Deluxe Tip-On Gatefold Jacket From Stoughton Printing

Double 1990 Grammy Award Winner: Best Contemporary Blues Album, Best Rock Instrumental Performance - "D/FW"

Stevie Ray had made music beyond the powers of most musicians but for this 1990 studio collaboration he returned to the things he loved: upbeat music and working with the brother he idolized his whole life. In his early years, Stevie Ray Vaughan often remarked that he would like to do an album with his brother. He fulfilled that wish in his very last studio performance, which was released nearly a month after his death. The liner notes end with "Thanks Mama V. for letting us play." With slick production from Nile Rodgers and employing neither guitarist's band (Double Trouble nor the Fabulous Thunderbirds), this is bluesy, but far from purist. Jimmie makes his vocal debut on "White Boots"
and "Good Texan" and the brothers blur the lines between their expected guitar styles - Stevie sometimes going for a less sustained twang, Jimmie moving into Albert King territory.

As we did with our vaunted box set reissues, Texas Hurricane, again Analogue Productions is bringing you the finest-sounding Stevie Ray Vaughan collections ever preserved on 200-gram vinyl. Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound cut the lacquers for the LPs using the ultimate VMS 80 cutting lathe. Gary Salstrom handled the plating and the vinyl was pressed of course at Quality Record Pressings.

There's not a link in this chain that wasn't absolute first-rate. The absolute best that money can buy. We're passionate about the blues AND Stevie Ray and the passion shows up here in spades.
