Sweet Summer Sun-Hyde Park LiveThis summer, over 100,000 delirious fans packed into Hyde Park for two spectacular outdoor concerts to see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood do what they do best. The Stones delivered a five star performance packed full of hits such as 'Start Me Up', 'Brown Sugar', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Miss You', 'It's Only Rock 'N' Roll', 'Gimme Shelter', 'Doom And Gloom' and 'Sympathy For The Devil', as well as one or two surprises.
Mick Jagger said: "It was a great gig It was beautiful with the sun going down over Hyde Park. I can't think of a better way celebrate the Rolling Stones' 50 than doing it on our home patch in front of 100,000 people on a glorious summer night enjoy it we certainly did."
Keith Richards commented: "Coming back to Hyde Park was like a full circle being drawn, and the band were in top form. We thought what could be more appropriate than having a great summer in London!"
From the second the Rolling Stones stepped out onto the stage each night, through to the dazzling firework and pyrotechnic display that heralded the end of the concert, fans old and new were treated to a non-stop, hit after hit performance, which took them through the Stones' huge back catalogue. Keith Richards wowed the crowds by weaving his charismatic guitar licks with Ronnie Wood's immense solos, Mick Jagger was on spectacular form, his boundless energy on stage matched by a number of stunning outfit changes, and Charlie Watts the unflappable heartbeat of the band, driving the band on through the set.
Former guitarist Mick Taylor - whose live debut with the Stones took place at the original 1969 Hyde Park concert - joined the band on stage to guest on the bluesy 'Midnight Rambler' and on closing track 'Satisfaction', whilst long-term live band members Lisa Fischer, Darryl Jones, Chuck Leavell, Bernard Fowler, Bobby Keys and Tim Ries all added their inimitable flair and finesse.
The Rolling Stones Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live is the perfect way for concert-goers to relive their favourite memories from the gigs, and for their fans to see the band back where they truly belong: live on the stage in their hometown.LP 1

Ready For The WeekendReady For The Weekend is the second studio album by Scottish recording artist Calvin Harris, released in 2009. The album topped the UK Albums Chart and was certified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry.
Harris had been working on the album since the release of his debut album, I Created Disco [MOVLP1185], with the first tracks being recorded in 2008. In April 2008, Harris stated that the only existing copy of his then-upcoming album was lost when his laptop was misplaced during the baggage handling problems at the opening of London Heathrow Terminal 5. He later stated on the BBC's Glastonbury Festival 2008 coverage that he got his baggage back including the album within a few days. However, Harris ultimately admitted in April 2009 that this was a lie as the album was not in his luggage at all, and that he hoped that what he said would give him more time to finish recording the album.
I'm Not Alone was released as the album's lead single. The song debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart, knocking off Lady Gaga's Poker Face. It spent two weeks atop the chart, before dropping to number three in its third week. Ready for the Weekend was released as the album's second single, peaking at number three on the UK Singles Chart. Flashback and You Used to Hold Me, were also released as singles. An extended version of Harris's 2008 chart-topping collaboration with Dizzee Rascal, Dance wiv Me, is also included on the album. Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La was used in a Coca-Cola advertisement in the summer of 2009.

The Second AlbumBack in 1995, Bay Area rap was at the big-ballin' peak of the mobb music craze, LA was chronically gripped in a G-funk indo smoke haze, Atlanta was
enjoying its Southernplayalistic days, and NYC was entering a shiny-suit phase. There was no frame of reference for two lyrical emcees experimenting
with the tonality and resonance of rhyme patterns. This was uncharted territory. The pairing of Lyrics Born and Lateef the Truthspeaker into Latyrx was an accident, LB recalls. Both emcees were solo artists, but when LB heard the pre-Endtroducing DJ Shadow beat which would become Latyrx' eponymous debut single, his reaction was, Oh my God, I gotta get on this.
Latyrx was a syllabic tour de force which began with two dissonant voices -- one gruff and bassy, the other higher-pitched and trebly, both hella fluid -- it
transmogrified into a harmonic convergence of doubled verses simultaneously assaulting eardrums. Undeniably, it was great... but weird. It was ill,
Lateef recalls. We really felt like we had something unlike anyone else had done, he adds. Latyrx' first and thusfar, only, full-length, 1997's Latyrx: the Album, set the tone for what Solesides and Quannum would do, LB recalls, while 1998's Muzappers Re-Mixes EP spawned one of the only feminist-affirming club bangers in hip-hop history, Lady Don't Tek No.
Though Latyrx never officially broke up, after Muzappers, both members followed their chosen paths to considerable solo success. Yet no matter how
much acclaim each attained individually, the notion of someday making another Latyrx record was always present. It's probably the number one thing I
got asked about in my career, LB says. 16 years (!) after the release of Latyrx: the Album, LB and Lateef have finally answered the prayers of long-starved fans who have begged, pleaded and, by now, tweeted about the possibilities of a reunion. An impromptu Latyrx set at a 2010 Jazz Mafia concert at San Francisco's Mezzanine led to an
appearance at 2011's Outside Lands festival, Google's Summer Concert Series (they were the first ever hip-hop act to perform) and a last minute
appearance as part of HITRECORD At The Movies -- a unique film and music traveling showcase curated and hosted by actor and artist Joseph Gordon-
Most recently the duo have performed at the Wintersalt Festival in San Francisco last December and toured the United States with super funk group,
Galactic. Having just released a brand new EP titled 'DISCONNECTION' late last year, LB & Lateef are hard at work on the proper follow up to their debut album, a
new record aptly titled, 'THE SECOND ALBUM'.
Featuring a long list of producers and special guests, the album credits read like a music festival with artists from Tune Yards and Forrest Day to
Blackalicious and The Decemberists stepping in to help create one of the most highly anticipated records of all time. What Latyrx brings to the table is a technical difficulty level rare these days in hip-hop and matched only by a few groups in the genre's entire history: Run -DMC, Jurassic 5, Blackstar, Freestyle Fellowship. Their challenging, intricate back-and forth arrangements evoke a lyrical version of bebop, with layer
upon layer of rhythmic syncopation and vocal patterning constantly pushing the envelope.
We have a good chemistry and it's kind of unique, Lateef says. We step up each others' game content, and both of us push each other in the originality
department. What we've talked about is very simply, picking up where we left off, LB explains. The return of Latyrx stands as Very Good News for true hip-hop fans,
lyrical aficionados, boom-bap beatniks, urban bohemians, wee tots in Reeboks, and Muzappers of all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages.1. Arrival [prod. by Jel of Anticon]

Game of Thrones is the wildly successful fantasy drama television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song Of Ice And Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels. Its fourth season premiered on HBO in April 2014, with already two more seasons in preparation. The series, set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos at the end of a decade-long summer, interweaves several plot lines. The first follows the members of several noble houses in a civil war for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms; the second covers the rising threat of the impending winter and the mythical creatures of the North; the third chronicles the attempts of the exiled last scion of the realm's deposed dynasty to reclaim the throne. The series explores issues of social hierarchy, religion, loyalty, corruption, civil war, crime, and punishment.
Game of Thrones has attracted record numbers of viewers on HBO and obtained an exceptionally broad and active international fan base. It also received widespread acclaim by critics. The series has won numerous awards and nominations, including nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and the Golden Globes.
The soundtrack was scored by German composer Ramin Djawadi, best known for his Grammy-nominated score for Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Clash Of The Titans and for the TV series Prison Break. The fourth season soundtrack also features a single The Rains Of Castamere by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. The band also appears in the second episode of the fourth season, as a group of musicians serenading the Royal Couple at their wedding reception.1. Main Titles

Whatcha See Is Whatcha GetThe Dramatics had been around in one form or another for nine years before the members got to release their first LP, and the result was a pair of breakthrough hits over the spring and summer of 1971, beginning with the title track, a Top Ten single that boasted not only extraordinary singing from bass to falsetto, but a soaring, punchy horn arrangement and some of the best fuzztone guitar heard on a hit record since the Rolling Stones' Satisfaction. The Afro-Cuban-flavored Get up and Get Down followed it into the R&B Top 20, and the Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get album followed them both. It was the third hit off of the album, In the Rain, a delicate ballad that was issued separately as a single in early 1972, topping the R&B charts and reaching number five on the pop charts, that solidified the group's reputation and elevated them to the front rank of '70s soul acts. The album showcased the group equally well doing up-tempo dance numbers (Mary Don't Cha Wanna) and ballads (Thank You for Your Love, Fall in Love, Lady Love), melding very attractive vocals to arrangements that instantly grabbed the listener, all of it pulled together by songwriter/producer Tony Hester. Even the lesser material, such as Gimme Some (Good Soul Music) -- on which Hester knew that one minute and 34 seconds was all that was needed to make its point -- were so attractive and rousing that they easily carried their portion of the album, whose short running time was its only flaw. All of the members, from Willie Ford's powerful bass to Ron Banks' airy falsetto, were presented to best advantage, but none more so than William Wee Gee Howard's lead vocals; ironically, this would be Howard's only completed album with the group, and their only album for two years to come because of the accompanying personnel problems. Still, it's a match for any soul album of its era.

Dirty HeadsPressed On 180 Gram Translucent Orange Vinyl
While most bands reserve a self-titled album for their debut, the Dirty Heads, held off for an album deserving of the moniker. The band found one, in their fifth studio release, a total culmination of their signature sound. Drawing on the alternative rock, hip-hop, folk and reggae sounds from albums past to create something elevated and exciting. The band worked with top multi-genre producers such as Da Internz (Rihanna, Nicki Minaj), Drew Pearson (Katy Perry, Zac Brown Band) David Kahne (Lana Del Rey, The Strokes), and Jimmy Harry (Madonna, Diplo).
The diversity of the production on this project is a true testament to the Dirty Heads versatility. With this album you can expect the pure Dirty Heads sound at its finest--a perfect blend of hip-hop and reggae, says vocalist Jared Watson. We have songs that range from summer anthems, songs you can vibe out to, and songs that really challenge you to think further. It's everything the Dirty Heads stand for and what we've become up until now.
The band purposely created an album to serve as the perfect playlist for both Day and Night. The first half of the record offers fans the perfect summertime fun playlist, while the second half offers a mellower vibe, reminiscent of a relaxed summer night with friends.
In a world where music listeners no longer listen to albums cover to cover but rather discover their favorite songs from playlists on platforms like Apple Music or Spotify, we chose to curate a playlist for our fans with our new music says Watson.1. That's All I Need

The Willennium album was only the second solo studio album by the then already famous actor, rapper Will Smith. Recorded with various producers and with his former collaborator DJ Jazzy Jeff, the album was a commercial success. It reached #5 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified multi-platinum by the RIAA. Willennium also reached the top ten on the UK Albums chart and was successful in other regions.
At the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, the music video for the single Wild Wild West received nominations for the Video of the Year, Best Video from a Film and Best Choreography awards. Smith won the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist at the 27th American Music Awards in January 2000.
The single Wild Wild West was the theme song to Will Smith's 1999 same titled summer blockbuster movie and samples Stevie Wonder's I Wish and Kool Moe Dee's Wild Wild West old school hip/hop track. Will 2K sampling The Clash's Rock The Casbah and Freakin' It were also released as singles.
Stephen Thomas Erlewine described Willennium on AllMusic positively as gaudy, giddy, infectiously silly, and proudly over-the-top praising the album for featuring bright, joyful party music that celebrates its big beats and big hooks.

Electric PeaceElectric is the pivotal third album by The Cult. Released in 1987, the album marked a deliberate stylistic change in the band from a Gothic rock to a hard rock band. Rick Rubin, the producer on Electric, had been specifically hired to remake the band's sound in an effort to capitalize on the popularity of hard rock and heavy metal in the 1980s. The album was featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
After the breakthrough success of their second album, Love, the Cult began working on a follow-up with producer Steve Brown. In the summer of 1986, they recorded twelve tracks at the Manor Studio in Oxfordshire. These recordings, which came to be known as the Manor Sessions, were to make up a new album, tentatively entitled Peace. However, upon completion of the recording sessions, the band decided that they were unhappy with the sound, and began to look for a new producer.
The band went on to choose Rick Rubin, who was known for producing albums for hip hop artists and thrash metal band Slayer. These new recordings, with a slightly different track-list and running order, became the album that was released.
Although all twelve of the Manor Sessions tracks were initially scrapped, four of them would turn up as B-sides to singles from Electric. A further five of them appeared on a limited edition EP, and with the release of Rare Cult in 2000, the rest of the unreleased Steve Brown-produced tracks were made available.Wild Flower

Dude Ranch is the second studio album by American pop punk band Blink-182. Recorded at Big Fish Studios in Encinitas, California with producer Mark Trombino, the album was released in the United States on June 17, 1997.
The band recorded the album during the winter of 1996-1997. With lyrical material written on the band's nonstop tours over the previous years, as well as completed songs, the band recorded with Trombino in sessions that lasted for five weeks. During the production for Dude Ranch, the members of Blink-182 were plagued with difficulties only made worse by the rushed schedule: bassist Mark Hoppus and guitarist Tom DeLonge, co-vocalists for the band, were having vocal problems and Raynor had to record his drum tracks with both heels broken, on crutches.
Promoted by lead single "Dammit (Growing Up)", the record was released in the summer of 1997 and was a success. "Dammit" became a rock radio hit single and helped the band gain mainstream credibility as they toured worldwide on the Vans Warped Tour. Three more singles were released, with "Josie (Everything's Gonna Be Fine)" gathering MTV play and charting highly in Australia. Dude Ranch eventually grew in sales and was certified platinum in the US by the end of the decade.1. Pathetic

Spreading RumoursSpreading Rumors is Grouplove's second full-length album.
Hannah Hooper met Christian Zucconi late one evening on the lower east side of Manhattan. They had both been living in New York for years and had never crossed paths before. But from that night forward the two could hardly be pulled apart. Soon after their connection Hooper was invited to an art residency in Greece on the island of Crete and Hooper insists without any hesitation she invited Zucconi to join her on this journey. Seriously, we had only known one another for a few days but are both so inspired and alive when we are together that going to Greece seemed like a magical and natural thing to do recalls Zucconi.
On Crete, in a small remote mountain village, Hooper and Zucconi met the members of their future band Grouplove a year before it was officially formed. Sean Gadd, a natural songwriter and guitar player, born and bred in London instantly bonded with the two eccentric New Yorkers. Their relationship became apparent through the music they were making day in and day out. Andrew Wessen, a pro surfer and musician from Los Angeles and his childhood friend Ryan Rabin, an accomplished drummer and producer, were also at the residency and quickly joined in with the musical trio. These five musicians make up the members of what we now know as Grouplove.
Like all good things, the summer and the residency came to an end and the five friends scattered back to their homes all over the globe. With Sean in London, Christian and Hannah in Brooklyn and Ryan and Andrew in Los Angeles Grouplove was faced with the challenge of what to do now. We all understood how rare it is for five strangers to feel as close as family and create passionate music together. We couldn't just return to Brooklyn and let the music we all made fade into a memory of that summer we had in Greece, explains Zucconi. Everyone pulled their funds together and Sean, Christian and Hannah made their way to Ryan Rabin's studio in LA to record their album. We seriously had the best time of our lives doing that record, says Zucconi. And the result is an incredibly special album where soaring harmonies coupled with sweeping anthems lead you through their powerful journey. Like the members of Grouplove, their music is diverse in influence and style but bonded together by an undeniably creative kinship.
Their experience back together and recording together was so potent that Hooper and Zucconi packed up their lives in Brooklyn and moved to LA to live and play their music.
We never could have dreamt this up says Zucconi, but at the same time we're not at all surprised - GROUPLOVE is meant to be. Our story a testament to fate, and our music is something we are ready to share.1. I'm With You

ParacosmThe music recorded by Ernest Greene as Washed Out has been nothing if not dreamy, and on his second full-length, Paracosm, he takes the dreamlike,
otherworldly atmospheres of his music a huge leap further.
The title refers to a phenomenon in which people create detailed imaginary worlds, and the idea of escaping is all over Paracosm's music and lyrics. Paracosm finds Greene reaching beyond the computers and synths that filled Washed Out's previous recordings, expanding his sonic palette to include over 50 different instruments, the most significant of which turned out to be old keyboards like the
Mellotron, Chamberlin, Novatron, and Optigan.
"I've grown as a songwriter to the point where I
want to have more involved arrangements, and that's really hard to do with sampling," says Greene. "These machines were kind of a happy medium: The sounds have a very worn, distressed quality about them, much like an old sample. But they also offer much more flexibility because they're playable."
Following two years on the road in support of
the critically-acclaimed Within And Without, and the lauded Life Of Leisure EP (which can still be heard during Portlandia's opening credits), he and his wife, Blair (who plays in the Washed Out live band), relocated from the big-city hubbub of Atlanta to a house outside Athens, where Greene could shut out the real world in favor of an alternate universe of his own making. Listeners will be immediately struck by Paracosm's seamless melding of organic and synthetic sounds, and its lighter tone. Greene says: "I knew from the beginning I wanted this record to be optimistic, very much a daytime-sounding album. I think the last record felt more nocturnal in some ways. This one I just imagined being outside, surrounded by a beautiful, natural environment."
With its gorgeous execution and uplifting attitude, Paracosm is primed to be this year's summer record. And it promises to do what its name suggests: take listeners to a better world.
Paracosm was recorded at in Atlanta with Ben H. Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Gnarls Barkley, Washed Out - Within and Without) at Maze Studios.1. Entrance

It was 50 years ago this June 1st when The Beatles' John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr astonished and delighted the world, ushering in the Summer of Love with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, a groundbreaking masterwork that became popular music's most universally acclaimed album. To salute the occasion, The Beatles will release 'Sgt. Pepper' Anniversary Edition.
"It's crazy to think that 50 years later we are looking back on this project with such fondness and a little bit of amazement at how four guys, a great producer and his engineers could make such a lasting piece of art," says Paul McCartney.
"'Sgt. Pepper' seemed to capture the mood of that year, and it also allowed a lot of other people to kick off from there and to really go for it," Ringo Starr recalls.
The Anniversary Edition includes Martin's new stereo mix of the album, which was sourced directly from the original four-track session tapes and guided by the original, Beatles-preferred mono mix produced by his father, George Martin.
This expanded 2xCD package features the new stereo album mix on the first CD and adds a second CD with previously unreleased complete takes of the album's 13 songs, newly mixed in stereo and sequenced in the same order as the album. Additionally, the second CD includes a new stereo mix and a previously unreleased instrumental take of "Penny Lane" and the 2015 stereo mix and two previously unreleased complete takes of "Strawberry Fields Forever."
The album's vibrant artwork, including its extravagant Pop Art cover which finds The Beatles surrounded by a crowd of heroes in a 3D collage, was created by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth in collaboration with the band.
"We hope you will enjoy the show"
Just as many ideas are sparked by chance, 'Sgt. Pepper' first sprang from a conversation between Paul and Beatles roadie Mal Evans on an airplane, when Mal's request to pass the salt and pepper was misheard by Paul as "Sgt. Pepper." The concept of who such a figure could be took root in Paul's mind, blooming with the imagination of The Beatles as an Edwardian era military band -- "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." The Beatles' creative wellspring for 'Sgt. Pepper' also flowed from such myriad sources as The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album, a Victorian circus poster ("Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!"), a TV commercial for breakfast cereal ("Good Morning Good Morning"), a picture drawn by John's young son, Julian ("Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"), a teen runaway reported in the news ("She's Leaving Home'), and Hindu teachings ("Within You Without You").
"Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song"
Using the standard four-track tape recording equipment of the day, The Beatles collaborated with producer George Martin to achieve "the impossible," as they dubbed it, to go as far out as they could with arrangements and new technology to realize their collective vision for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. As George Martin described it, "We were into another kind of art form where you were putting something down on tape that could only be done on tape." The Beatles clocked more than 400 hours in Abbey Road's Studio 2 to record the album, wrapping sessions in April 1967.
"I read the news today oh boy"
Upon its release on June 1, 1967, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band initially spent 148 weeks in the British chart, including a total of 27 weeks at number one. During its first U.S. chart run, the album held the number one spot for 15 of the 88 weeks it appeared in the Top 200. 'Sgt. Pepper' won four GRAMMY Awards®, including Album of the Year, and it remains one of the most influential and bestselling albums of all time. In 2003, the U.S. Library of Congress selected 'Sgt. Pepper' for the National Recording Registry, recognizing the album as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." 'Sgt. Pepper' tops Rolling Stone magazine's definitive list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time."

Miss E...So Addictive (Pre-Order)After a long winter of discontent, So Addictive finds Missy Elliott hoping to initiate hip-hop's summer of love. Miss E's third album is dosed with feel-good flavor and has more guests than the VIP section of the hippest hip-hop hot spot. Buddies Method Man and Redman bark across the bridge of Dog in Heat's canine funk. Jay-Z and Ludacris feature on two different versions of One Minute Man's scathing soul. Synths tweak and creak in rhythm as Missy unleashes a dreamy diss of those hopeless suitors who unload their cargo before they've sparked her ignition. Take Away features Pony man Ginuwine on a hypnotic slow-burner heavily reminiscent of Art of Noise's Moments in Love.
When left to her own devices, as she is on Lick Shots (which jangles like Django Reinhardt on downers), Missy comes on like Schooly D, a fearless, female gangsta licking shots against anyone who dares cross her. On Scream a.k.a. Itchin' she breaks into a soprano. A 4/4 stomp is stamped indelibly across the ecstasy-holler song 4 My People (featuring Eve). Overall, it feels as if producer Timbaland has muted his experimental leanings on this outing with his favorite muse in favor of submersible club tracks. Musically, the bhangra beat bop of Get Ur Freak On is the standout. The spiral timing of Whatcha Gon' Do, the fret-skipping Slap! Slap Slap! (featuring Da Brat), and the sunken, drunken funk of the not-so-subtle X-hex X-Tasy are tied at a close second. -Chris Campion1. ...So Addictive (Intro)

Get BackIt's doubtful that Stephen McBean set out to make The Great Rock 'N' Roll Primer when he started conjuring the
songs that would come to be Pink Mountaintops' Get Back.
The record's beginnings were reasonably straightforward: McBean had moved to Los Angeles, taken a long hiatus
from Black Mountain and an even longer one from Pink Mountaintops when he met producer Joe Cardamone, lead
singer of Icarus Line at Valley Recording Company in Burbank,CA.The two bonded quickly over Flying Nun bands,
Television Personalities, Roxy Music, Johnny Thunders, and Born Against. Joe was excited to meet someone he
actually liked. Stephen was excited to work with someone who said Sing it like you would've sung it when you were
21. Simple enough,right?
But ask him to set the scene and you'll hear about a motorcycle shop owned by Michael Barragan, former member
of Los Angeles noise rock band Plexi. You'll hear about an endless supply of rock 'n' roll video documentation for
last minute inspiration or de-evolution in the living room.Ask who's on the record and you'll get a constellation of
greats:J Mascis(DinosaurJr &Witch),Rob Barbato (Darker My Love,The Fall & Cass McCombs), Steve Kille (Dead
Meadow), Daniel Allaire (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Cass McCombs & Darker My Love), Annie Hardy (Giant
Drag), Jon Wahl(Clawhammer), and Gregg Foreman (Cat Power & Delta 72).Randal Dunn (Sunn O))),Earth, Sun
City Girls, Boris) mixed Get Back at Avast! Studios (Bikini Kill, Mudhoney, Christ On A Crutch, Soundgarden) in
Seattle. Howie Weinburg (Nirvana, Beastie Boys, Danzig, Ramones, Slayer) mastered it in Laurel Canyon.
Ask about the record itself and McBean will tell you about Alleys, curbs, walls, and cigarette stained gig flyers. An
island on the Pacific coast. Fake British towns. Slayer posters. The beauty of youth. It's about listening to Driver's Seat
and 'Guns of Brixton' and hotboxing The Duster. And suddenly it becomes clear: when the aliens do touch down
and they don't know rock 'n'roll, you can play them Get Back start to finish, and that'll be all they need.
Get Back comes out swinging with Ambulance City, a head-trip of a song with a chugging, insistent, oddly timeless
guitar riff sitting front and center. The Second Summer of Love needs almost no explanation; it dives into 80s VHS
saturation and never comes up for air. Sell Your Soul is a deep sigh and a motorcycle ride, a roll in the grass
lamenting summertime blues with a little grit and a little harmony. And North Hollywood Microwaves is
downright obscene. But what better way to start Side B than this? You can listen at hushed volumes so your parents
don't hear, you can crank it in a dorm room, you can smirk to yourself from the safety of rock 'n'roll's old age.You
start to wonder- why don't all Side Bs start with a song like this one
The number of platitudes in music hit critical mass years ago, and among those tropes is that annoying, inescapable
mantra:rock 'n'roll is undefinable. And yeah, sure, that's true. It's different things to different people. It starts with
guitars, maybe, and ends with a stage-dive, or spit, or feedback. Rock 'n'roll is drugs, is rebellion, is youth, is sex, is
cosmic. It's wanting more than you have.Rock 'n'roll is butts and cigarette butts. And Pink Mountaintops might not
be the best-known band ever to make rock 'n' roll, but in Get Back they just might have written its scripture -- an
exploration and celebration of what, exactly, rock 'n'roll can be.1. Ambulance City

Bach: Sonata and Partitas, Vol. 1Nonesuch Records releases an album of three Bach works recorded by mandolin virtuoso and MacArthur Fellow Chris Thile in 2013. Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 1 comprises three works written for solo violin: Sonata No. 1 in G minor, BWV 1001; Partita No. 1 in B minor, BWV 1002; and Sonata No. 2 in A minor, BWV 1003. The album was produced by Thile's friend, mentor, and frequent collaborator, the double bassist and composer Edgar Meyer.
Thile explains his connection to the composer: "Bach was my first meaningful experience with-for lack of a better word-classical music. It was the second recording of Glenn Gould playing the Goldberg Variations. Gould plays with the kind of rhythmic integrity that I had previously only associated with non-classical music: music with a groove, with a pocket, that made you move. Gould was playing that music like my heroes play fiddle tunes. It humanized the whole thing for me and the heavens opened up and Bach came down. I started devouring all the Bach I could get my hands on."
He continues, "This record to me is not about this iconic violin music played on the mandolin-like, 'Oh boy, what fun, he's playing a weird instrument!' It's about Bach being one of the greatest musicians of all time, the solo violin music being some of his best work, and the mandolin having the potential to cast it in a new and hopefully interesting light.
Chris Thile, whom London's Independent calls "the most remarkable mandolinist in the world," is the founding member and lead vocalist of Punch Brothers. With broad influences including progressive bluegrass, classical, rock, and jazz, Thile transcends the borders of conventionally circumscribed genres, creating a distinctly American canon and a new musical aesthetic. Thile will be touring this summer with Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, and Edgar Meyer, with whom he released last year's The Goat Rodeo Sessions, which won two Grammys in 2013.
As a soloist, Thile has released five previous albums. In 2011, Nonesuch Records released the Grammy-nominated Sleep with One Eye Open, an album of duets with guitarist Michael Daves. Thile has also collaborated with a pantheon of musical innovators from multiple genres including BÉla Fleck, Brad Mehldau, and Hilary Hahn. For more than 15 years, Thile played in the wildly popular band Nickel Creek, with which he released three albums, sold two million records, and was awarded a Grammy.
The New Yorker's Alec Wilkinson said of Punch Brothers: "each musician has a deep command of his instrument their technique and specific sensibilities have given Punch Brothers a sound that is strikingly coherent and singular, even if they haven't yet settled on a genre Each of the musicians plays with grace, thoughtfulness, and force to a degree that is not duplicated by any band I am aware of." Their latest album, the critically acclaimed Who's Feeling Young Now?, was released in 2012 on Nonesuch Records.

Every now and then a band comes along and speaks to the hearts of kids everywhere, as the true
voice of their generation. Man Overboard is that band in the pop-punk community . In an age
when overnight internet sensations are an everyday occurrence, it's hard to find a band that's
grown organically, the old fashioned way, via word of mouth and non-stop touring, winning kids
over one show at a time. Man Overboard has been busy touring the world for the past 5 years,
having shared the stage with the likes of Taking Backing Sunday, Bayside, New Found Glory, The
Wonder Years, and more. The bands buzz reached New Found Glory's guitar player Steve Klein who
fell in love with their infectious pop-punk sound and catchy choruses.
He was so impressed with the band that he offered to produce "Heart Attack" the bands second Rise Records release. Man Overboard is humbled by their success, but also know that they still have a long road ahead of
them. In the grand scheme of things, it's only the beginning. After drawing huge crowds on the
Vans Warped Tour last year the band was personally asked by tour founder Kevin Lyman to return
on a bigger stage this summer. Man Overboard is currently on a headline run that's doing sell out
business. Things are just about to tip for Man Overboard, regardless they continue to play every
show like it is their last, and treat every fan like their first.1.Secret Pain

BonesOn The Delta Saints' new album, Bones, their first for Loud & Proud Records, the Nashville-based band have stripped their roots/blues sound down to its essence, having rearranged the elements into something uniquely their own. Steeped in rock 'n' roll's building blocks - country, R&B, soul and gospel - The Delta Saints' second full-length effort explores influences like Jack White, The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, Band of Horses and Led Zeppelin. Producer/engineer/mixer and Third Man Records alum, Eddie Spear [Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, Neil Young] provided a ghostly, psychedelic atmosphere at Nashville's Sputnik Sound studios, yielding a sound unlike anything they have created before.
"We got to the point where what we were recording and playing had veered from what we were listening to and loving on our turntables, which can lead to discontent," said Louisiana-born singer/lyricist Ben Ringel, who co-founded the band almost eight years ago with fellow Belmont University student, Kansas native bassist David Supica. Soon after, they were joined by Tennessee-bred guitarist Dylan Fitch and later, after a health scare with the band's former harmonica player, enlisted Louisville resident and keyboardist, Nate Kremer, who was added to the lineup only two weeks before a two month long European tour.
Taking a novel approach of writing songs spontaneously in the studio, The Delta Saints were challenged to create in the moment and as a result, Bones is their most adventurous effort yet. The album is a collection of eclectic songs, beginning with The White Stripes-meets-Led Zeppelin fuzz-toned garage-rock blast of "Sometimes I Worry." The spare, spooky strains of "Butte la Rose" tell the band's tale of a Louisiana town purposely flooded and displaced five years ago to save New Orleans. The Grapes of Wrath drama of "Dust," based on Ringel's grandfather, an East Kansas farmer, builds to a primal wail at nature with a stunning coda in which Dylan Fitch's guitar drops out and Kremer's B3 organ provides the climax. The title track, "Bones" features hoodoo organ riffs and African-influenced trance music, which came from listening to the Sahara desert African groove of Niger's Tuareg guitarist Omara "Bombino" Moctar and Mali's Tinariwen. The grindhouse honky-tonk chain gang chants of "Heavy Hammer" celebrates the work ethic in no uncertain terms, a call for unity in the wake of Ringel's frustration about getting stuck in the rat race and feeling trapped by some of life's mundane tasks. "Berlin," the first song they recorded after adding Nate on keys, started out as an instrumental penned in the title city while on tour. It eventually metamorphosed into a country twang intro and a prog-rock jam. Bones is a complete work veering between despair and apocalyptic dread.
"We're trying to push ourselves forward to do something more modern, but at the same time incorporating where we come from," explained Ringel.
"It was incredible to be able to write a song on the spot and immediately hear what it sounded like," added Supica. "It was a great way to capture the magic right when you come up with an idea, preserving that raw element. We were used to playing a song for months on the road before we recorded it. Still, on the flip side, it was absolutely terrifying to sit in the studio watching the clock tick and waiting for a song to come out. That's where (producer) Ed Spear came into play; he was so good at keeping us pointed in the right direction."
"This record was made out of both necessity and desire. We needed to be fulfilled and surprised by music again, and we also needed to fulfill that love of writing and recording again."
The Delta Saints have independently released two EPs (2010's Pray On and A Bird Called Angola), a full-length album (2012's Death Letter Jubilee) and a live disc (2014's Live at Exit/In). They have spent the last eight years touring the US averaging almost 200 shows per year, organically growing their audience, fan by fan, city by city. Major appearances include several festivals including Wakarusa, Summer Camp, Harvest, The Ride, Summerfest and The Simple Man Cruise. A testament to their mixed appeal, they have opened for such diverse acts as Blackberry Smoke, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Taj Mahal, Dickey Betts and Michael Franti & Spearhead.
The Delta Saints have also have a large international fan base having toured Europe a total of six times, selling out countless venues and playing more than 200 shows in Spain, Sweden, France, Switzerland and Germany, as well as several festivals in Holland (Moulin Blues, Ribs and Blues), Belgium (Gevarenwinkel) and Germany (Grolsch Blues Fest).
With all that they've accomplished as a hard-working group on their own, The Delta Saints have earned their graduation to industry veteran Tom Lipsky's Loud & Proud Records (which has been the home of Rush, Lynyrd Skynyrd, KISS, Robert Plant, Rob Zombie, Lenny Kravitz and The String Cheese Incident, among others).
"Don't look so tired, my dear," sings Ringel in Bones' closing track, "Berlin," echoing the band's progress. "We may be bruised, but the day is almost here."
"It's hard to see progress when you're in the middle of things," said Supica about The Delta Saints' ambitions. "We try to take stock every six months or so and look back from where we've come, from eating at McDonald's and sleeping on people's floors to staying at a Motel 6 and graduating to La Quinta. We mark our success by the hotel chain where we're staying. When we get to Marriott, we know we've made it."
Bones proves The Delta Saints are well on their way to making that reservation.$18.99Vinyl LP - Sealed Buy Now

From the Original Kama Sutra Mono Masters
Greenwich Village, 1964: While the folk boom is still in progress, other musics began seeping into the corners and clubs of lower Manhattan. Rock, once down for the count, came back with a vengeance, largely thanks to a klatch of young British bands. Roots music, especially blues, grew rapidly in popularity as folk enthusiasts expanded their horizons. In this intoxicating milieu, John Sebastian, Zal Yanovsky, Joe Butler and Steve Boone united to form the Lovin' Spoonful. Originally a jug band with folk roots, they readily incorporated the sounds they heard all around them. Combining British Invasion jangle with the blues' growl and folk's attention to lyrical detail, they forged a sound completely their own. Accomplished musicians all, they had two secret weapons: the guitar virtuosity of Zal Yanovsky and the rising songwriting talent of John Sebastian. The first Spoonful single, "Do You Believe in Magic," took AM radio by storm in June of that year, reaching #9 on the Billboard Hot 100. Featuring an irrepressible melody, a chiming autoharp and Yanovsky's tasteful fills, it was an audacious debut. Their inaugural Kama Sutra LP, also titled Do You Believe in Magic, followed in November 1965. Containing three other Sebastian originals and one song credited to the band, the balance of the LP contained traditional blues covers and songs by contemporary writers. Reaching #32 on the Billboard Top 200, it established the band as one of country's brightest new talents. By the release of their second album, Daydream, in March 1966, the band's songwriting chops had fully blossomed, particularly Sebastian's, who wrote or co-wrote all but one of the songs. The album's first single, "You Didn't Have to Be So Nice" reached #10 on the Hot 100 and married a signature Yanovsky riff with a galloping piano part to form an indelible hook. The title track, a mid-tempo reverie with an ace whistling solo, did even better, soaring to #2. Skipping ahead a few decades, the album cut "Butchie's Tune" was used to great effect in season five of Mad Men. The band soon returned with Hums of the Lovin' Spoonful. Consciously working in different styles, the band essayed country ("Nashville Cats"), folk balladry ("Rain on the Roof") and psych- tinged rock ("Summer in the City"), among other sounds. This time, all the songs were originals and it was the last full album recorded by the original quartet. It stands as a triumphant ending to one of the most exciting chapters in the American rock story of the 1960s, a perfect encapsulation of a time when it seemed anything was possible in music.
