    Mirage

Fleetwood Mac's streak of five consecutive multi-platinum albums began in the 70's and continued in 1982 with MIRAGE. During the summer of 1982, MIRAGE topped the album chart and added to the band's already impressive canon of hits.

    70's Rock Must Die

Remember the 70's? C'mon, of course you do. The Bee Gees, John Travolta, and Ford Pintos exploding on rear impact? Well, LARD hasn't forgotten. And they are dying to share those memories on the title track of their new EP, 70's Rock Must Die. 70's Rock Must Die is an epic screaming for a music video. It's a trip down Melrose with long hair and leather- Jello, Al, and Paul flipping the bird as they drive. And, yes, that actually IS Jello singing.

As you know, we're so into this little ditty at ATR that we have purchased a 1979 FORD Pinto that will be auctioned off on eBay the day of release - February 7th, 2000. If you like this, there is plenty of merchandise to go along with it: iron-on t-shirt transfers, buttons, posters, y ou name it

As you may have surmised, the track 70's Rock Must Die is a bit of a musical departure for LARD. But don't fret, the rest of the EP harkens back to the LARD that we all know and love. Here are 2 new gems boasting crushing guitars, freakish noises and Jello's wailing vocals - the pulverizing sounds that have come to characterize LARD.

This is the first LARD release in over 2 1/2 years. In fact, these tracks didn't make it onto their last album, and we couldn't keep them on the shelves waiting for the next.

    Reservoir Dogs

    20th Anniversary Edition!

Reservoir Dogs is the pulp novel I always wanted to write. Although the story is very much present day, it has a '50s feel but I used music from the '70s. In one scene, the audience learns that a local radio station is hosting a Super 70s weekend and that's why I am using and referencing the bubblegum music that was popular during that period. I found that the music was a terrific counterpoint to the action on the screen. -Quentin Tarantino

Ween's fourth album, originally released in 1994, is perhaps their finest moment, a brilliant mix of twisted humor and pure pop genius. Ween draw influence from smooth 70s soul, psych, soft rock, spaghetti westerns, country, funk, indie-rock and more to the point where each song is a spot-on take on a different genre with their silliness being the uniting element. The follow-up to their debut Noumena. Though the music on this release is familiar, there's a depth to both the performance and production that feels new. The direct-to-analog tape mix is used as another instrument to help shape each song, channeling the mythos of late 60s jazz and late 70s dub classics. They've also expanded their influences with shades of afro-beat and disco-soul.

Combine evocative production, inventive songwriting, and multi-part harmonies mixed with the duo's passion for 60s and 70s pop, including The Kinks, Richard and Linda Thompson, The Jam, Simon and Garfunkel, and some Shake Some Action -era Flamin' Groovies and you've got Georgie James. These twelve tracks are pure pop bliss that look toward the future, but are undeniably rooted in music from generations past.

    He Miss Road

He Miss Road combines the sound of James Brown-style 70s funk with a stripped down Afrobeat performance. Ginger Baker produced this ethereal, nearly psychedelic album with Tony Allen on drums, backed by Fela?s Africa 70 band. The title track refers to the ways in which people have lost their way ? and the ensuing chaos it causes.

Bowie At The Beeb: The Best Of The BBC Radio Sessions '68-'72 (Awaiting Repress)

Previously released on CD, this is the debut of the Best Of David Bowie's BBC radio sessions from 1968 - 1972 on vinyl. The 39-track 4 LP set comes in a lift off lid box and features a full color 20 page booklet.

This vinyl version features Oh! You Pretty Things from the Sounds Of The 70s Bob Harris session, broadcast in September 1971, which was previously exclusive to the Japanese release of the CD.
This performance features just David and Mick Ronson as a duo.Completely exclusive to this collection, and therefore making its debut, is the once lost The Supermen from the Sounds Of The 70s Andy Ferris session, broadcast in March 1970, and performed by The Hype. This recording was only rediscovered during the research for the original CD set and remained unreleased until now.

Recorded during the band's stay with legendary Detroit-based label, Westbound Records, the track-listing is a Funkadelic fan's delight. Four finished songs and five jams or instrumental tracks. None of these recordings are necessarily in finished form, nonetheless, despite their raw state, as historical artifacts they are nothing less than fascinating. Detailed sleeve notes by Funkadelic expert Rob Bowman, who comments that 'the songs and the jams on this compilation provide a window into the creative energies of early 70s Funkadelic'.

    Ultraviolet

On Ultraviolet, Sadistik closes his eyes tight and reaches out towards the peripheries of perception through introspection and psychedelic escapism, transcribing the vivid images crawling on the dark purple walls of his Seattle studio. The day after he finished recording 2013's critically acclaimed Flowers For My Father, Sadistik (nÉe Cody Foster) began writing the new record with a head full of acid, left field 60s & 70s cinema and palpable frustration with the world around him.

Music From The Films Of R. Swift

INST sounds like Brian Eno and Wendy Carlos had a love child in the 70s and subsequently marooned him/her/it on an Oort Cloud. This largely instrumental electronic project may seem out of character for Richard Swift, with his unmistakable beautiful singing voice, melancholic lyrics, and sophisticated songwriting. With this release, he has resurrected the earliest forms of electronic music, thrown in a few dashes of dub, hip-hop, kraut-rock, and Motown, and created a new hybrid dish. For fans of Re/Search curiosities and other weird, ambient, and electronic headphone arts directed just outside the third eye.

Hailing from The Hagues blossoming 60s rock scene, Earth & Fire was already a well-known Prog-group in
The Netherlands before they scored an international hit with Weekend. A move towards mainstream 70s
pop with their new producer (and singer Jerney Kaagmans delectable blue leather catsuit) catapulted the
album Reality Fills Fantasy to the top of the album charts. Both the single and the album went platinum in
1979 and were voted single and album of the year by the Dutch public. A good example of Nederbeat,
Reality Fills Fantasy is a classic, and will be released on Vinyl for the first time in over 30 years!

    Aeropop

Alexander von Mehren is a 28 year-old Norwegian pianist, songwriter and producer. His self-recorded debut album, AÉropop, was mixed with John McEntire (Stereolab, Tortoise, The Sea and Cake) in Chicago and mastered with Steve Rooke at Abbey Road Studios in London.

The album, featuring contributions from members of The High Llamas, Jaga Jazzist and Orwell, is especially inspired by British, French and Italian library music and soundtracks of the 60s and 70s and is focused primarily on orchestrated alternative
pop music sung in French and English (in addition to instrumental tracks). Alex plays most of the instruments on the album himself.

    Parade On (Awaiting Repress)

Doug Gillard is a guitarist's guitar player. Over the past two decades he's lent his considerable talents to a huge array of recordings, and has been an integral member of Guided By Voices, Nada Surf, Death Of Samantha, Richard Bunkner's band, Cobra Verde, and others. His technical prowess and creative, angular melodies have influenced a generation of indie rockers. Gillard sings and plays nearly every note on Parade On (with the exception of drums and occasional backing vocals), and, although the songs range from aggressive punky New Wave to melodic 70s influenced psych, this is assuredly a pop record that should appeal to fans of all his other outfits.

    First Contact

    Limited Edition Of 1,000 Copies

Contact is the new duo of A.E. Paterra (aka Majeure) of
famed sci-fi synth-rock group Zombi, and acclaimed
British film composer, Paul Lawler. Exploring a similar
orbit as Majeure and Zombi, multi-instrumentalist Lawler
infuses heavy doses of melody and drama to give First
Contact a sound and feel that blends late 70s Pink Floyd
sprawl, the nostalgic wonder of early 80s science
    documentaries, and John Carpenter's 80s sci-fi action
films. Equal parts fascinating and euphoric, Contact is
two masters of their respective crafts finding common
    ground in zero gravity.

The Modern Lovers were an American rock band led by Jonathan Richman in the 70s and 80s. The original band existed from 1970 to 1974 but their recordings were not released until 1976 or later.

Live catches Jonathan Richman at the height of his candy-floss novelty period. The music is warm and mild, almost all of it derived from 50s and early-60s models such as surf idioms and guitar instrumentals.

Live has become somewhat of a cult classic the last couple of decades and is guaranteed to get you in a good mood. Pure joy, happiness and bliss...
