    In The Right Place

Dr. John, or Mac Rebennack as known to friends and family, is universally celebrated as the living embodiment of the rich musical heritage exclusive to New Orleans. His very colorful musical career began in the 1950s when he wrote and played guitar on some of the greatest records to come out of the Crescent City, including recordings by Professor Longhair, Art Neville, Joe Tex and Frankie Ford. A notorious gun incident forced the artist to give up the guitar and concentrate on organ and piano. Further trouble at home sent Dr. John west in the 1960s, where he continued to be in demand as a session musician, playing on records by Sonny and Cher, Van Morrison and Aretha Franklin to name a few. He also launched his solo career, developing the charismatic persona of Dr. John The Night Tripper. Adorned with voodoo charms and regalia, a legend was born with his breakthrough 1968 album Gris-gris, which established his unique blend of voodoo mysticism, funk, rhythm & blues, psychedelic rock and Creole roots. Several of his many career highlights include the masterful album Sun, Moon and Herbs in 1971 which included cameos from Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger and 1973's In The Right Place, which contained the chart hits Right Place Wrong Time and Such A Night.

Spiritual odysseys are often the subject of the stories we share with one
another. The romantic idea of the soul's high adventure has been the
consistently compelling backbone of everything from ancient myths to
modern fiction. It's so deeply ingrained in cultures throughout the world
that it's become part of our collective cultural baggage. Austin-based
musician Abram Shook has done his share of wandering the world,
searching for a spiritual and a literal home. From road trips through
South America to surfing excursions in Indonesia, he's been fortunate to
have the opportunity to absorb more of the world's cultures first-hand
than many of us ever will.

After leaving Santa Cruz, California where he grew up and studied jazz,
Shook spent several years in Portland and Boston playing in numerous
bands, and wrestling with an unsettled spirit. Turning to traveling as a
means to quell his existential dread, eventually landed him in Austin, TX,
where he's been part of the city's rich creative community for over 8
years. Though the music community in Austin is no substitute for the
briny air and patient West Coast beaches he still longs for, its vitality and
creativity still manage to nourish the soul.

Abram Shook's solo debut, Sun Marquee breathes with the lungs of a man
that finally found a new place to call home, while also reflecting upon the
circuitous path that led him here. Propelled by Shook's impeccable bass
groove, and inspired by artists like Shuggie Otis, Serge Gainsbourge, and
Tom ZÉ, Sun Marquee distills lessons learned and questions unanswered
into an accessible collection of pop songs.

    Sun Down

Nik Freitas' Team Love debut, Sun Down, equal parts wry, warm and sonorous, is the end product of several years of lifeÆs ups and downs. Freitas writes, plays, engineers and produces every note on his records. Not that he's got a lot of expensive gear. A visit to his Poppy Peak studio/shed reveals that Nik is working low-budget minor miracles, the kind of miracles one receives via hundreds of hours on Craigslist. One listen to Sun Down and you know you're hearing a certain hard-won grace. The record takes you from Paul Simon's Graceland to David Bowie's Hunky Dory all in the span of forty effortless minutes. Sun Down is endowed with a sort of gravity and self-possession; no reaching, no going for the gold, just perfect, four minute thesis statements. It all began several years ago for Freitas, when a co-worker sold him an antique piano that was used by a street musician before the dawn of Casio. Nik taught himself how to play the thing, and it became the cornerstone of three earlier records, Here's Laughing at You, Heavy Mellow and Voicing the Hammers. Other people began to take notice. He's opened for Jason Lytle of Granddaddy, played guitar for Jim Fairchild of All Smiles and recorded with Miles Kurosky of Beulah. Lately, he's been opening shows for Bright Eyes which led him to his current resting place at Team Love. The end of the imaginary side one features Sophie with live horns punctuating the tale of a girl who seems to have made some rather unfortunate choices. It's a perfect signpost of a song, and it clears the decks for what's to come in the second half, where Nik's orchestra of one builds the final five songs into an Abbey Road type suite that fans of Jon Brion will hearken to. Sun Down is imbued with a sort of indie grandeur that is both unexpected and totally natural.

Despite a myriad of obstacles, Moby Grape managed to persevere and create a potent and enduring body of recorded work, recording four albums during its original 1967-1969 lifespan. While 1967's Moby Grape is widely acknowledged as a classic and one of rock's greatest debut albums, the subsequent Wow, Moby Grape '69 and Truly Fine Citizen are all underrated gems.

It's a measure of the musicians' abundance of talent and creativity that, despite the multiple roadblocks that they confronted, Moby Grape recorded prolifically and cut a wealth of originally unreleased material. The Place and the Time offers a scintillating assortment of rare tracks cut during the band's heady 1967-1968 heyday and it is the first time any of these tracks have appeared on vinyl! Encompassing audition recordings, album outtakes, alternative versions, live material and more, the recordings offer a powerful testament to the remarkable rapport that made the band such a unique musical force. The fact that music this stunning and originally sat on the shelf for so long is just another in the litany of injustices that haunt the Moby Grape story. Fortunately, the band's majestic recorded legacy has outlasted the bad luck. The music remains as fresh and inspiring as ever, and the vintage material featured in this collection constitutes a crucial addition to Moby Grape's already monumental body of work.

A Place Where There's No More Pain

Life Of Agony emerged from the New York music scene in the early ‚90s with one of the most distinctive
sounds in its genre. Best known for its 1993 metal/crossover debut River Runs Red, the band instantly
built a die-hard, cult following. For over two decades, the group toured relentlessly all over the world,
sharing stages with the biggest names in rock, including Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Foo
Fighters, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. After the much-praised Ugly (1995), LOA opted for a highly
energetic alternative rock approach on Soul Searching Sun (1997) and Broken Valley (2005) - the latter
produced by Greg Fidelman (Slipknot, Metallica). Life of Agony has sold over one million albums to date.
In 2016, LOA signed a deal with Napalm Records to record the group's 5th studio album, titled A Place
Where There's No More Pain. Rolling Stone hailed it as „One of the Most Anticipated Albums of the Year".
The album is produced by Matt Brown & Life Of Agony and mastered by Ted Jensen (Alice in Chains,
Machine Head, Deftones). The drive and intensity these ten blistering new tracks possess, surpass all
expectations that built up in the past 12 years - a cathartic Sturm & Drang experience for the listener that
matches the ferocity of River Runs Red with gut wrenching rock melodies. Raging guitar riffs, heartfelt
lyrics and killer grooves mark the return of LOA's signature sound and turn A Place Where There's No
More Pain into a passionate, soul-searching affair.

The highly emotional lyrics by singer Mina Caputo link all songs by the four-piece together, then and
now: born as Keith Caputo, she had her Transgender coming out in 2011, changed her name, but kept
her inimitable style of writing deeply from the heart. „And I just want to disappear and hide," she sings
and shines a light on the path of all lost souls - while steadily walking her own. „Many of our fans have
told us over the years that sharing our personal struggles has been cathartic for them in healing the pain
in their own lives. That uplifting energy we share at the shows, gives us hope that there's light at the end
of the tunnel. And for us and hopefully our fans, that short time when we're all together is a place where
    there's no more pain."

The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place

Explosions in the Sky's second effort takes a more studied, even lush approach to the literate chaos of their 2001 debut. But put on your sad sack thinking cap now, because Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place is a contemplative and heady rush of masterful melancholia. Its six songs are multi-minute, slow motion workouts of gentle electric guitar plucks and subtle/sudden washes of percussion ù they're still instrumental, but as lyrical as anything in the indie rock universe. 'Only Moment We Were Alone' turns on a simple, melancholy guitar figure, the drums shifting from insistent catch-up mode to a studied march built to introduce the next layered crescendo. Explosions in the Sky doesn't shift as suddenly or jarringly on Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place; the quartet has applied more structural predictability this time out, but is still quick about setting the sad butterflies in your stomach to fluttering. 'Memorial' is the album's meditative heart. It begins so quietly, reduced to brittle landscapes of tone. Lightly chiming guitars drift in, like the echoes of church bells off in narrow city streets. Then, like each of the album's movements, it surges forward in a rush, like the overtures of Sonic Youth separated, dried, and ultimately lengthened in the blistering Texas sun. The final blast of distortion and staccato drumming is Earth at full bittersweet bluster. 'Your Hand in Mine' ends things as they began, with a pair of determined guitars picking out a melody that's both pretty and pretty damn heartbreaking.

Cut from the Analog Masters by Legendary Engineer George Marino at Sterling Sound and Pressed on 180-gram Vinyl at RTI!

First-Ever Audiophile Edition of this Seminal Collection, Hendrix's Final Studio Album!

The Hendrix Family is Committed to Bringing you the Best Sound Quality Possible: Do Not Miss This Collection!

Set Joins Exquisitely Remastered Versions of Are You Experienced?, Axis: Bold As Love, Electric Ladyland, and the previously unreleased Valleys of Neptune!

Hendrix Has NEVER Sounded Better on Any Format or Pressing!

First Rays Of The New Rising Sun, the last graceful gesture by pioneering guitarist Jimi Hendrix, is the first album prepared under the supervision of his family. It compiles 17 songs whose creation span from March of 1968 to the last sessions at Electric Lady Studios in August of 1970, and which Hendrix inteded for release on this album, which was being made at the time of his tragic death. The material finds Hendrix expanding upon the parameters of his voice, concentrating on his singing while also embracing soul music more than he had on his other recordings. Hence, listeners hear funkier, bluesier, and R&B-slanted elements on this staggering set, which in no way comes off as a cheaply thrown-together posthumous release. Rather, given the level of experimental psychedelic exploration and dreamlike tones throughout, First Rays of the New Rising Sun rightly takes its place as Hendrix's final studio album. And it's never sounded so amazing.

Mastered from the original analog tapes, cut by legendary engineer George Marino on upgraded equipment at Sterling Sound, and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl at RTI, this LP is a sonic knockout on par with the very best audiophile recordings. It's no wonder that this release helps spearhead Legacy Recordings' unprecented 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project of reissues and new releases from the greatest guitar player in history. Albums don't get more essential than this.

Originally released in 1997, First Rays Of The New Rising Sun boasts many of Hendrixs most creative musical achievements, including Night Bird Flying, Angel, Dolly Dagger, Hey Baby (New Rising Sun), and In From The Storm. Finally, here is the link that connects Hendrix's involvement with the Isley Brothers with his own groundbreaking solo fare, now on a truly glorious-sounding pressing. An absolute must for any music fan.

"This album will enhance your life Oli Bayston, the main guy behind [Boxed In], is an impressive songwriter and his
piano-pinned dance-pop album carries zero duds." - NME

"[Boxed In] hits hard enough in places to get the party started and holds just enough back to make you want to return to
it again and again." - The Line of Best Fit

"Oli Bayston's transition from go-to producer to dazzling solo artist is complete." - DIY Mag

Boxed In is London, England-based songwriter and producer Oli Bayston. Having played in indie band Keith, written for
The 2 Bears, sung for George FitzGerald and been a producer for the likes of Charlie Boyer and the Voyeurs, Rosie Lowe
and The Bohicas, Oli is now bringing his wide array of talents to bear on his own solo project.

Boxed In brings together Oli's two greatest musical loves: Krautrock and house music. "The album has a bit of both of
those two things combined," he says, "But the principle focus is always the songs. I'm a slave to the songs and I try to
incorporate my love of specific genres of music into that." Inspired by the motorik rhythms of Can, Cluster and Neu! as
well as house producers, like PÉpÉ Bradock and Theo Parrish, Oli nevertheless emphasizes that the art of pop song writing
is right at the heart of Boxed In.

In the UK Boxed In is already buzzing with "Mystery" on the A List at BBC Radio 6 Music, Rough Trade's selecting the selftitled
debut as their album of the week January 19, and attention from influential press outlets like NME, Uncut, Sunday
Times Culture, The Sun, Clash, and The Line of Best Fit who rated the album 8/10 saying "[Boxed In] hits hard enough in
places to get the party started and holds just enough back to make you want to return to it again and again."

No Mercy In This Land (180 Gram)

    Pressed On 180-Gram Vinyl

No Mercy In This Land is a blues record. Charlie Musselwhite and Ben Harper were introduced to one another by John Lee Hooker. The legendary musician thought the two men should play together, so he brought them into the studio to record a song called simply "Burnin' Hell." The two remained friends and their paths periodically crossed out there on the road. But it wasn't until 2013 that the two met up in a studio to record what would be their Grammy-winning album Get Up!. And as good as that record was, it was just the beginning. Both men agree that their friendship deepened in the many months of touring that followed. And it's that bond, that closeness, that makes this new record something special.

At first glance, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite might seem an unlikely pairing. While Ben grew up in in the tree-lined Southern California college town of Claremont, a bastion of culture and liberalism just east of Los Angeles, Charlie was raised in Memphis during the time of rockabilly and Sun Records. But while the two might have come to their musical knowledge in different eras and places, as Charlie explains, "We were both searchers and we're still seeking." Each of them possesses an enduring hunger for musical knowledge that came to them early.

    Sweet Summer Sun-Hyde Park Live

This summer, over 100,000 delirious fans packed into Hyde Park for two spectacular outdoor concerts to see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood do what they do best. The Stones delivered a five star performance packed full of hits such as 'Start Me Up', 'Brown Sugar', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Miss You', 'It's Only Rock 'N' Roll', 'Gimme Shelter', 'Doom And Gloom' and 'Sympathy For The Devil', as well as one or two surprises.

Mick Jagger said: "It was a great gig It was beautiful with the sun going down over Hyde Park. I can't think of a better way celebrate the Rolling Stones' 50 than doing it on our home patch in front of 100,000 people on a glorious summer night enjoy it we certainly did."

Keith Richards commented: "Coming back to Hyde Park was like a full circle being drawn, and the band were in top form. We thought what could be more appropriate than having a great summer in London!"

From the second the Rolling Stones stepped out onto the stage each night, through to the dazzling firework and pyrotechnic display that heralded the end of the concert, fans old and new were treated to a non-stop, hit after hit performance, which took them through the Stones' huge back catalogue. Keith Richards wowed the crowds by weaving his charismatic guitar licks with Ronnie Wood's immense solos, Mick Jagger was on spectacular form, his boundless energy on stage matched by a number of stunning outfit changes, and Charlie Watts the unflappable heartbeat of the band, driving the band on through the set.

Former guitarist Mick Taylor - whose live debut with the Stones took place at the original 1969 Hyde Park concert - joined the band on stage to guest on the bluesy 'Midnight Rambler' and on closing track 'Satisfaction', whilst long-term live band members Lisa Fischer, Darryl Jones, Chuck Leavell, Bernard Fowler, Bobby Keys and Tim Ries all added their inimitable flair and finesse.

The Rolling Stones Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live is the perfect way for concert-goers to relive their favourite memories from the gigs, and for their fans to see the band back where they truly belong: live on the stage in their hometown.

    The Genius Of Earl Hooker

Earl Hooker was an incredible slide guitarist residing in Chicago during the 1950s and '60s. Hooker split his time between his birth place on the Mississippi Delta and his adopted home of Chicago were he played with the likes of Ike Turner and Sonny Boy Williamson. The Genius of Earl Hooker, his exceedingly rare Cuca Records release, circa '67 finds him laying down instrumental blues at its best!

Gene Clark became the first member of a major U.S. rock band to go solo when he left the Byrds and released his stirring 1966 debut LP Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers. Clark then cut a pair of sparkling, Gary Usher-produced/Curt Boettcher-arranged tracks The French Girl and Only Colombeas his final single for Columbia, a release that was unfathomably canceled at the 11th hour by the label, thus robbing the world of this glistening, baroque-pop gem. Sundazed is overjoyed to restore these tracks, taken from the original mono Columbia masters, to their proper place in the universe: as the two-sided single that should have made Gene Clark a huge star in his own right!

Live At Royal Albert Hall 1971

From their earliest days as 12-string-wielding folk-rockers, to the thrilling psychedelic excursions of their raga-rock period to their 1968 birthing of country-rock, the Byrds were always accorded a heros welcome in England. What better place to record founding Byrds member/guitarist/singer Roger McGuinns new version of the bandfeaturing fretboard ace Clarence White, bassist Skip Battin and drummer Gene Parsonsthan Londons Royal Albert Hall!

Rescued from a tape that had sat forgotten in McGuinns climatized garage for decades, this stellar 1971 set, featuring live versions of the current bands studio faves (Lover of the Bayou, Chestnut Mare) as well as adventurous reworkings of Byrds classics (Mr. Tambourine Man, My Back Pages, Eight Miles High,So You Want to Be a RocknRoll Star) might be the most accurate and stirring live performance yet of the legendary Los Angeles combo. By 1971, the guitar interplay of McGuinn andWhite had become a jaw-dropping highlight of their live performances,as had their stripped down, acoustic mini-set and peerless four-part vocal harmonies.

We're Gonna Change The World - The 60's Chicago Garage Sound Of Quill Records

Chicago was a great place to be if you were a member of a rock & roll combo in the mid-'60s -- there were plenty of teen clubs, radio stations were happy to play local product, and several Windy City labels were ready and willing to take hometown acts into the studio and get their music into stores. Dunwich Records and USA Records were the biggest labels in Chicago and both scored a handful of national hits, but they were far from the only game in town, and Peter Wright, a successful record promo man who went on to manage the New Colony Six, ran one of the city's most interesting small labels, Quill Records, which released top-notch sides on a number of fine groups and licensed a few of his masters to larger labels out of town.

While Quill only lasted a bit less than two years (from 1966 to 1967), their output was impressive stuff from an eclectic variety of acts, and the great reissue label Sundazed, only a few months after releasing a definitive two-disc overview of the USA Records catalog (2131 South Michigan Avenue: 60's Garage and Psychedelia from U.S.A. and Destination Records), have unearthed 19 highlights from Quill's archives on We're Gonna Change the World! The 60's Chicago Garage Sound of Quill Productions.

Many of Quill's acts followed the trends of the major British acts of the day, but hardly all of them; the Exterminators deliver a screed against long hair and take an America first position on rock with the over the top Declaration of Independence '65, Hot Pastrami by the Don Caron Orchestra is a high-powered instrumental dominated by honking saxophones and fuzzy guitars, and I'm Going to Change the World by the Commons Ltd. suggests the psychedelic revolution that was lurking around the corner while still maintaining a high degree of sneer and swagger.

And even the acts that were looking to the U.K. for inspiration were turning their eyes to unusual places; the Delights were clearly obsessed with the Zombies, so much so that their original tune Every Minute, Every Hour, Every Moment mimics their style just as well as their cover of Just Out of Reach, and the Skunks, who true to their name bleached stripes into their hair, also leaned to the moody side of British pop with Don't Ask Why and a fine cover of the Beatles' It's Only Love (though Do the Duck is a raw and fuzzy celebration of some would-be dance craze).

    Soma Records Story: Vol. 3 - A Man's Gotta Be A Man!

The record world was a completely different place in 1965.
Kids wanting to take home a piece of the rock 'n' roll action they frugged to at the Armory dance last weekend or a wild tune they heard the local bossjocks spin on the way home from school, inevitably had to deal with seven-inchers made by independent record labels. The single was the thing in the mid-60's, not the album. In even the hippest big city record emporiums, you could thumb through the entire recorded canon of British Invasion-influenced LPs - no more than a hundred or so - in about five minutes. But, ahhh, those singles. And nobody did them better than the shoebox companies sprouting up like bread mold all over the country, labels who could tap into the best local talent and get their show-stopping songs into the local record shops.

Just about every sector of the US had its own scene, red hot local chart entries that kids three hundred miles away were destined to never hear. And that's why the legendary indie labels - from International Artists in Houston or Autumn in San Francisco to Dunwich in Chicago or Etiquette in Tacoma - and hundreds more just as groovy, are revered today more than ever.

The Soma Record Company of Minneapolis caught the national spotlight by releasing hits from the likes of the Castaways and the Gestures. But Liar Liar and Run, Run, Run are just the tip ofthe iceberg. If you've always suspected that thousands of great singles from the '60s that you've yet to hear are lurking in the bushes, guess what? You're right. Step into the dusty Soma vaults with us - brush aside those cobwebs, if you would - point your flashlight towards the strobelight flickering at the far end of the tunnel and keep walking. When the cool Fender 'n Farfisa sounds finally grab you by the shirt collar, just keep telling yourself: This isn't a dream. It's what I was born to do.

    Trip Thru Hell

    Gold Colored Vinyl

The C.A. Quintet's journey to Hades burned hot enough to melt the ice in their frigid Minnesota environs. A coveted collectable since the psychedelic record collecting disaster whirl first started over 30 years ago, Trip Thru Hell (1968) is rightly regarded as the epitome of local psych-cum-garage rising above its humble roots into something truly monolithic.

Evolving from the local circuit into a hellish beast of keyboards, lysergic lyrics, trippy guitars and even subtle trumpet parts, the C.A. Quintet's vision of the netherworld glowed in flaming orange, red and yellow as their instincts took over. Kicking off with the chilling psychedelicized keyboard-led instrumental title track, the album singes the psyche of the listener with an array of atmospheric beelzefuzz on "Colorado Mourning," sitar-like solos intertwining with fuzz and horns on "Underground Music," and the more benevolent Lucifer on "Smooth As Silk," which swirls with keys and harmony vocals to underscore a brilliant melody. Mortals dare not venture to the sinister realm of the "Cold Spider" and especially not "Sleepy Hollow Lane," a mistier place than even the Chocolate Watchband could dream of visiting.

As the first label to give this distinguished work the treatment it deserved 20 years ago, Sundazed returns with this gold vinyl reissue reproducing all of the original artwork and ensuring the authentic analog sound of psychedelia.

    Begin

The Millennium looms large in the hearts of fans of the '60s sunshine pop genre. The studio group was the creation of legendary tunesmith/studio genius Curt Boettcher, who had previously been instrumental in the formation of the fabled '60s cult acts the Ballroom and Sagittarius. In 1968, Boettcher assembled a group of talented California singers and musicians (including singer/guitarists Lee Mallory, Sandy Salisbury, Joey Stec and Michael Fennelly and Music Machine drummer Ron Edgar) to record the Millennium's sole album, Begin.

Begin, produced by Curt Boettcher and Keith Olsen, with assistance by California rock legend Gary Usher, is an exquisite progressive pop opus, combining breezy melodies, ambitious baroque arrangements, stirring psychedelic touches and angelic vocal harmonies to create a suite-like concept album that perfectly captures the optimistic mood of the time in which it was made.

At the time the most expensive rock album that Columbia Records had ever financed, Begin proved to be too melodic for the emerging underground FM radio format and too avant-garde for AM Top 40. Although it didn't find a large audience at the time of its release, Begin is now acknowledged as a landmark work and a sunshine-pop cornerstone. It retains a loving place in the hearts and minds of its fans, who hold it in the same high esteem as the works of such harmony-driven '60s acts as the Beach Boys, the Left Banke and the Mamas and the Papas.

Begin is an absolute must for any fan of '60s pop and vintage psychedelia. Sundazeds CD edition of the album adds two rare bonus tracks and extensive liner notes to the original album, while the vinyl version is an exact replica of the original 1968 LP. Both versions are sourced from the original stereo masters.'

    White Light

After playing in various teenage groups, Gene Clark was offered a place in the sprawling New Christy Minstrels in late 1963. He stayed long enough to contribute to two albums, Merry Christmas and Land Of Giants, before returning to Los Angeles, where he teamed up with Jim (Roger) McGuinn and David Crosby in the Jet Set. This fledgling trio evolved into the Byrds. At that point Clark was the leading songwriter in the group and contributed significantly to their first two albums.

As founding member of folk-rock pioneers the Byrds, Gene Clark had emerged as a uniquely gifted singer/songwriter and master of the minor key melancholy ballad. His departure from the group in 1966 was met with critical anticipation and commercial indifference. Tiring of the Hollywood fast lane by 1969, Gene and new wife Carlie moved up to Mendocino on the Northern California coast where the tranquility, pastoral beauty and laid back lifestyle of the coastal community appealed to his country boy roots. It inspired a body of songs unlike anything Gene had composed before. Their stark simplicity and stripped down arrangements, acoustic guitar, harmonica and voice, evidence a deeper insight into life and an overall optimism rarely found in his previous body of work.

The resulting album, White Light, produced by renown guitarist Jesse Ed Davis, remains one of Gene's most accessible and much-loved recordings among fans and critics, topping several domestic Best Album of the Year lists and being voted Album of the Year by rock critics in the Netherlands. Songs like For A Spanish Guitar, With Tomorrow and Where My Love Lies Asleep are delicately evocative while the title song draws on Gene's appreciation for country music. One In A Hundred harkens back to his finest Byrds compositions.

Buoyed by his new surroundings, friendships, marriage, a feeling of contentment in his rural retreat and the imminent birth of his first child, White Light reveals singer/songwriter Gene Clark at the top of his game. Rolling Stone declared the folk-based album a fresh and innovative look at what came before in a new framework. One of the most interesting and exciting records of 1971. Relive that excitement on this Sundazed edition! Mastered directly from the original A&M analog session tapes on high-definition vinyl.

    Bo Diddley's Beach Party

From The Original Chess/Checker Masters In Glorious Mono

Faithful Reproduction Of The Original Artwork

It's the beach party of your dreams. Not one of those with the squeaky-clean suburban kids doing the frug at Malibu like in the movies, oh no. This is Myrtle Beach, filled with dangerous bikers and gang members and hot mamas and escaped convicts and god knows who else (best not to ask), all cruising for kicks. It's after midnight but the heat still lingers from a blistering day. Except for a small bonfire, the dark is all-enveloping; couples vanish into it and you'd best be looking elsewhere. At the fire, some guy's carving his initials into his hand with a pen knife, and two babes are noodle-dancing to the waves, or maybe just the voices in their heads. They need music, dammit. Just then, a cloud of dust materializes at the far end of the boardwalk, heading your way, getting closer by the minute. As it approaches, you can just make out the silhouette of a rather large man atop a little motor scooter, some crazy looking guitar slung over his shoulder. Who IS this guy? The scooter chugs to a stop at your feet, and off steps the only musician in the known world who could play this party without having the shit kicked out of him. Bo Diddley.

He plugs in, kicks off a scorching guitar riff. The band falls in. And the place goes totally batshit. Miraculously, someone thought to bring along a tape recorder. The result: Bo Diddley's Beach Party, the absolute pinnacle of vicarious musical thrills. Presented in its original, glorious, Distort-O-Phonic mono, this sweaty grungefest kicks ass from start to finish.

Lots of albums claim to be essential, groundbreaking, and all that crap, and pointyheaded rock crits fawn over cosmic lyrical brainfarts and diminished ninths and such. Bo Ddiddley's Beach Party just kicks sand in their faces and dares you not to dance.

Sundazed earnestly believes that you have no business calling yourself a rock 'n roll fan, an r&b maven, or even a sentient human being unless this album is in your collection, that's how crucial it is. In fact, don't even talk to us until it's in your hands. We mean it.

    Behold & See

    Custom Spinach-Colored Vinyl

Nestled Into A Jacket With Beautifully Restored Artwork

It was legendary record producer Alan Lorber that came up with the concept of The Bosstown Sound -- The Sound Heard 'Round The World to market and promote the best and brightest of the Bean Town sixties psychedelic scene. (Boston's key groups at the time included Orpheus, Beacon Street Union, Ultimate Spinach, Chamaeleon Church and others). The Ultimate Spinach, arguably the finest of them all, produced magnificent examples of surreal psychedelic record-making, now prized by crate-diggers and outsider music fans alike.

The Spinach's self-titled debut album is now considered a psychedelic classic, but it's the group's second record, Behold and See, that is perhaps their finest achievement. Ostensibly a concept album, it's centered around lead singer/songwriter/keyboardist/guitarist Ian Bruce-Douglas' cynical worldview. He skewers normal society with all the fervor of Zappa and all the surreality (and insanity) of Bob Markley on songs like Visions of Your Reality and the four-part Suite: Genesis of Beauty. Add in the lush, floating vocals of Barbara Jean Hudson, fuzz guitar and some great late-60s psych jangle and you've got the formula for an unhinged classic that stands up to the best of the non-coastal psych sounds of the late-60s.

For decades, the only available version of Behold and See was a heavily-edited director's cut" which omitted an entire song and presented edited versions of others. On this edition, Sundazed proudly presents the album in its rare, original, superior dedicated mono mix, unexpurgated and unedited. This ultimate edition is presented on (of course! and at last!) custom spinach-colored vinyl and nestled into a jacket with beautifully restored artwork. Behold and See is the perfect place to dig into the Bosstown Sound" - a tremendous and beautiful album now on Sundazed!!!
