Dali Kubik Free Speakers - Black

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.

The essence of the DALI KUBIK FREE is connectivity. This elegantly designed active speaker enables you to enjoy music from a wide variety of sources and can be connected via Bluetooth, USB, Optical or Analog inputs.

    Connectivity

Bluetooth and Optical input is just two of the seven possible connection types that the KUBIK system offers. The broad range of connectors ensure that any device will connect to the KUBIK system at the best possible quality. To improve ease of use even more, the KUBIK system offers IR learning that enables the use of an existing remote control to navigate the KUBIK system.

    The DALI DNA

By working with many of DALI's well-known speaker technologies like the soft dome tweeter, wood fibre cones, low-loss rubber surrounds and a glass reinforced polymer basket, the KUBIK system is clearly a true DALI speaker at its core. Adding a 4 channel stereo Class D amplifier into the mix only underlines the development team's dedication to making the KUBIK system a real Hi-Fi speaker.

The KUBIK system consists of two elements the KUBIK FREE and the KUBIK XTRA. The two components can be setup in three different ways. Using the KUBIK FREE alone as a standalone system, using the KUBIK FREE and the KUBIK XTRA together in a stereo system or using the KUBIK FREE and KUBIK XTRA together in a two room standalone system.

    Build quality

The main housing is based on one piece of extruded aluminium. This serves to strengthen the entire product giving it a solid feel and ensures that all components can be fitted tightly onto the structure eliminating vibrations. The back plate also acts as heat transfer for the amplifier and power supply. The top of the KUBIK is crafted from the same aluminium and reveals the solid build of the KUBIK FREE.

    Amplifier

The 100 Watts Class D amplifier is a true active solution offering a fully digital crossover, direct handling of digital sources, and a high quality AD converter. The four channel stereo amplifier (4 x 25 Watts) controls the audio signal to the woofer and the tweeter module individually.

This is a major part of the high quality performance of the KUBIK system since it makes it possible to control and optimize the audio stream perfectly for the drivers used in the KUBIK system. Having that level of control lets the acoustic engineers transform every bit of information into driver movement. This truly is a combination where two plus two equals 5.

    iFi Audio Groundhog

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.

Does your audio system suffer from an annoying hum, buzz or hiss?

When you touched your device, did the hum/buzz noise increase? Well, in most cases, this is likely to be caused by a missing Ground/Earth connection that normally shields your system from such interference and drains away the noise.

Electrical safety and EMC Legislation require certain ways of designing AC power systems. This legislation does not consider audio systems and is mandatory. It can lead to the irritating issue of hum, buzz, hiss and general interference in certain systems where:

    • The system includes at least one AC mains powered device or has an AC mains charger attached and it has no Ground/Earth at all
    • The audio system has at least two AC mains powered devices which leads to more than one, multiple Ground/Earth connections.

At iFi, we know how annoying unwanted noise can be. No-one enjoys a tedious listening experience.

If you have identified that you have a Missing/No Earth, then the Groundhog is for you. Its sole objective is to put the Ground/Earth back into your system and banish those unwanted, audio pests. No predicting the weather with this hog!

All you need to do use a standard IEC power cable to connect the Groundhog to your audio system. The Groundhog then adds back the missing Ground/Earth connection to dissipate noise.

Our Groundhog is multi-talented as it includes a variety of connections to suit just about any audio system:

    • RCA base cable - for any audio system with an unused RCA socket.
    • USB converter - for a computer audio system. Just connect to a spare USB port.
    • Spade converter - for power supplies with a DC barrel connector.
    • 3.5mm Y-converter - for portable devices with an unused 3.5mm connection.

As a result of connecting the Groundhog and adding back the Ground/Earth you will get increased resolution, a full-bodied mid-range, tighter bass and improved musicality and neutrality.

To put it simply, a much richer and fulfilling listening experience. No more annoying hum, buzz or hiss

    Creaturesque

Perhaps more sonically upbeat than its predecessor, Creaturesque's details are at times painted in both optimistic and sobering tones. Reitherman's scattershot poetics touch on an array of ideas; it's oppressive American machisimo and Suburbanite sexuality. It's soft drugs and convertible cars. It's the struggle for higher expectations within the mess of modern life, and when wrapped up in the structures of TMTS' sure-handed tunes it's an all too delicious combination.

    Audioengine A2+ Speakers (Satin Black)

A2+ is the gateway drug for computer audio.

    - Steve Guttenberg, CNET

    Premium Powered Desktop Speaker System

The award-winning Audioengine 2 powered desktop speakers just got better. With a built-in digital-to-analog converter (DAC), the Audioengine 2+ allows you to send high-quality digital audio direct from your computer's USB port.

    - Excellent sound with elegant simplicity and a new standard for computer audio

    - Versatile connections, including USB digital audio and subwoofer output

    - Designed for your desktop but also sounds great across the room

    Upgrade your Audio

The Audioengine 2+ is the new standard for computer audio and these small, but high-performance speakers are the perfect upgrade for your computer. Everyone knows the difference between custom-built, small batch products and the disappointment of mass-produced and over-marketed products. The A2+ was designed and hand-built with the goal of exceeding expectations of both value and performance.

    Brotherly Love

The Audioengine 2+ is about one-third the size of our flagship Audioengine 5+ powered speakers and an ideal size for your desktop or smaller room. We used the same custom tweeters as in the Audioengine 5+, matched them with compact Kevlar woofers, then added high-performance amplifiers with high-quality connectors. All this great engineering is wrapped in wood cabinets with a hand-polished finish to create a premium quality desktop multimedia speaker system that puts all those sad plastic computer speakers to shame!

    Smaller Speakers, Still Big Bass

To say that the bass on the Audioengine 2+ is substantial for their size may be an understatement, but you should be the judge. The bass was teased from the A2+ with some clever acoustic and electrical design without using any digital signal processing or fake bass boost circuits. Wood remains a preferred speaker enclosure material for its stiffness at higher volume levels and the cabinet focuses just the right amount of low end from the tuned front port slots.

    Versatile and Efficient

The A2+ was designed for your desktop but their superb soundstage and imaging also makes them the perfect choice for across the room. Well-suited for all your music, movies and games, the A2+ sounds great with or without a subwoofer. Using a similar analog design as the Audioengine 5+, the A2+ power amplifiers are built inside the left speaker providing a very efficient system. An auto-standby idle mode is also included to conserve power when you're not playing music.

    Easy Connections

The A2+ features analog amplifiers that are built into the left speaker, while the right speaker is passive so setup is simple. Just plug the left speaker into AC power and connect the included speaker wire from left to right. We've included minijack, RCA, and USB inputs for easy connection to your computer or iDevice and other cables you may need are included. There is no software or plug-ins to install and A2+ works with any computer or music player. The A2+ also has a variable RCA output for connecting a subwoofer, upgraded connectors, improved accessory cables, and a redesigned power supply.

    Minding the Gap

The Audioengine 2+ sets a new level of audio and aesthetic quality for Powered Multimedia Speakers and further closes the gap between computer speakers and home audio. Even if you're not an audio enthusiast, we guarantee you will still hear a difference!

    The Invisible Way

The Invisible Way is Low's tenth album in 20 years as a band. Low's Alan Sparhawk says of the album: "While driving though Chicago, on tour, we stopped finally to visit Wilco at their studio, The Loft. They had invited us to come check it out several times over the years, but this would finally be the day. It's a great place-a sea of instruments in a relaxed, open working environment. It's cool, but what really converted us was hearing the new Mavis Staples tracks they were working on: big, simple, raw, and intimate. How is this different from any other Low record? Mimi sings lead on five of the eleven songs (she usually only does one or two, despite being a fan favorite). Piano, lots of piano...and an acoustic guitar. Songs about intimacy, the drug war, the class war, plain old war war, archeology, and love."

material in Brooklyn. The converted founding member Mark Perro's bedroom
in Bushwick into a practice space and rehearsed there nearly every day for three
months, cutting more than 40 demos. By the end of that winter, the Men had
pared that crop of songs down to 13. With their plans to take a break foiled by
their own work ethic, they decided to record those songs before New Moon came
out. They booked two days at Brooklyn's Strange Weather studios, clocked in,
and tracked all 13 songs entirely live, even including a horn section.

Eight songs from those sessions made the final cut for The Men's new LP,
Tomorrow's Hits. This is their first album recorded in a high-end studio and,
appropriately, the result is their most high fidelity album to date. That being said,
it is still an incredibly straightforward record. Tomorrow's Hits is a concise
collection of songs that nonetheless expands the band's ever-evolving musical
palette. It's full of genre-bending risks, but it reinforces the overarching theme
that has come to define its makers: The Men are a great rock band.

Duluth Indie-Rock Trio's Ninth Studio Album Charms With Minimalist Chamber Pop, Staggering Textures

Recorded in a Converted Church: Phenomenal Sonics and Presence

Wilco Guitarist Nels Cline Guests on Warm Set That Addresses Relationships

Cmon is the shortest title of any Low album, which seems fitting, as it also ranks among the most succinct and straightforward entries in their variegated discography. Comprised of new material written on and off the road, the ten-song set was recorded in a former Catholic church, aka Sacred Heart Studio (where the band previously crafted 2002s Trust) and co-produced and mixed by Matt Beckley. The band took full advantage of Sacred Hearts high, vaulted ceilings, natural reverb, and audible affinity for organ sounds and group singing. The thunder-crack percussion that peppers the final minute of the slowly unfolding Majesty/Magic is just one example of this dynamic in action. With its jangly guitars and sweet vocal harmonies, opener Try to Sleep sets the albums tone: warmer, fuller and more introspective.

Whereas 2007s Drums and Guns railed against the war in Iraq, Cmon feels like a plea for humanity, decency and common sense in a world gone mad. Singer-guitarist Alan Sparhawk concurs. With the last couple of records, we were grappling with something outside of ourselves. This one feels more like, Well, forget that. Im looking in your eyes right now, and we need to figure out how to get through the next moment, together, as human beings.

Without curtailing their artistry one iota, the trio has made one of its most accessible, affecting albums to date. And while the origins of Cmon may lie in a church in Minnesota, Beckleys apartment in CA and the hearts of the modest individuals who created it, the resulting music has the capacity to resonate deeply with audiences everywhere.

    Black Talk!

The young organist Charles Earland converted the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby" into an anthem called "Black Talk" and came up with one of the huge soul-jazz hits of the early Seventies. In this album, Earland worked the same magic with two other pop songs, "Aquarius" and "More Today than Yesterday," giving them the urgency and forward movement of R&B but managing to inject them with jazz values. He was greatly aided by a pair of soloists-trumpeter Virgil Jones and tenor saxophonist Houston Person-who added fuel to Earland's fiery concept. Guitarist Melvin Sparks and the quintessential soul jazz drummer Idris Muhammad helped keep the blaze going. It is not coincidence that his blues composition, and Earland himself, were called "The Mighty Burner."

Black Talk! went on to become an enormous hit, spending most of 1970 on the best-seller charts.

    Dunes

Over the past three years, the Santa Barbarian comrades that make up Gardens &Villa -Chris Lynch,Adam
Rasmussen, Levi Hayden, Shane McKillop, and Dusty Ineman - went from playing local bills to being
veterans of the road. After releasing their self-titled debut on Secretly Canadian in 2011, they pushed their
van's odometer into the six-digit range, zigzagging North America and Europe with over 350 shows in just 2
years. Gardens & Villa emerged a wiser, crystallized version of themselves.

Those experiences planted the seeds for the band's new batch of cohesive, personal, and beautifully layered
pop songs - homegrown in the confines of the band's beach side practice space. When it came time to
record, they searched out acclaimed producer Tim Goldsworthy (Cut Copy, DFA Records, LCD
Soundsystem, Hercules & Love Affair) and these five surf-town natives found themselves traveling to the
unlikely locale of Benton Harbor, MI (pop. 10,040) in January. There they landed at the Key Club, located
deep in the recesses of a converted locksmith's building where they would record what would become their
    second full-length, Dunes.

Gardens &Villa burrowed into the Key Club's retro-themed studio and living space, only leaving the facility
five times over the next month. The disconnect between Santa Barbara's familiar sunny beaches and
Michigan's snow-covered lake shore led to the group's creative unraveling in the studio. The band lost track
of the hours, days, and weeks as blinking analog machines captured the intense journey. In the process,
Dunes was poured through Sly Stone's original custom-built Flickinger recording console.

With just a week left before deadline, Gardens & Villa sought a brief refuge from the studio where their
progress had stalled. They went on a trip, traversing winding roads past frozen tundra and barren trees and
into the wilderness of the nearby state park's tall dunes. The group climbed to the top and collapsed into a
combination of sand and snow.Simultaneously reminded of home as well as their distance from it,their jaws
dropped as they turned to see Lake Michigan's majestic and surreal expanse stretching toward the horizon.

Supported by Goldsworthy's guidance, the band went back to the studio and ultimately emerged with a
record beaming with dystopian energy, subconscious lyrics, and uncompromising sincerity. Lynch has
seamlessly integrated his bansuri flutes and Rasmussen has fleshed out his looming synths alongside shades
of '80s cult films soundscapes that lurk just underneath the songs in an unnoticeable-yet-omnipresent
fashion.Like the awe-inspiring clarity of sitting atop Michigan's dunes, the band's forthcoming record shares
a clear and evocative vision of where Gardens & Villa's members have traveled, what they've learned, and
    what lies ahead.

    No Love Deep Web

Death Grips shocked the world and their record label when they released their second release of the year No Love Deep Web, but upon listening it's pretty clear that this is a mixtape that the label had no intention of releasing. No Love Deep Web was probably just an elaborate way to hype up the band, and it's safe to say it worked. No Love Deep Web had over 34.2 million downloads on BitTorrent thanks to the help of Twitter, and I think its safe to say their plan worked. Speaking of the album itself, it employs very minimalistic stripped down beats and has a much chiller vibe overall compared to the previous two records. That doesn't mean the beats are soft though, because they are harder than the phallus on the album cover. No Love Deep Web is one big grimy middle finger to the music industry and one of the most sordid albums ever released by a group on a major label.

This isn't your father's hip hop, but that should be common knowledge by now. If you go into this expecting insightful lyrics and smooth flow over catchy beats you're going to have a bad time, hell even if you expect to understand the lyrics most of the time you're going to get very little out of No Love Deep Web. MC Ride is his schizophrenic self on tracks like No Love and World Of Dogs, but he also comes down to earth and actually calms down a bit on tracks like Artificial Death In The West adding a lot more depth to their sound. The whole album feels like the fever dreams of a severely withdrawn drug addict, tracks like World Of Dogs, No Love and Hunger Games sound like a sick drug addicts crash back down to earth and their gritty existence. The line I got some *** to say just for the *** of it perfectly encapsulates not only MC Ride's style, but No Love Deep Web, and Death Grips' whole career.

The beats on this thing are raw and stripped down, some of the tracks don't even have a melody some of the time, just drums and vocals like in Lock Your Doors. The beats are fidgety electronic bells and whistles, lots of interesting sounds and synths creating a gritty atmosphere for MC Ride to spit his insane lyrics over. The rawness and harsh production of the beats help point to the fact that this is a mixtape and not a studio release, the minimalistic approach also creates a fresh sound compared to the over produced and at times gimmicky production on The Money Store, and this approach will likely convert a few people who were not fond of the over the top nature of The Money Store.

No Love Deep Web inevitably sounds a tad rushed, no *** it was made in only a few months, but it definitely did its job as a hype generator. It doesn't do enough different to warrant its early release date and the band's sound is getting a bit tiring. The main problem though is the lack of standout tracks, with most of the hooks gone and with such stripped down beats a lot of the songs blend together in an unflattering way. Exhausting as it can be at times, No Love Deep Web turned out to be another great addition to Death Grips' ever expanding discography that is likely to turn a few heads just as all of their previous work has done.

The new CD6006 is a fine-tuned version with even more specially selected components and new layout circuit compared to its CD6005 predecessor. We also added more rigid feet to further eliminate vibration. The oversized power supply feeds the digital and analog circuitry of the player, where the high-quality CS4398 DAC converts digital signals to analog, this is then 'pushed' to the gold-plated synch outputs by Marantz's own small signal amplifier, the HDAM-SA2. In addition, we have included a new remote that also controls the PM6006 amp.

The CD6006 is a match made in heaven for the music lover who wants nothing but the best performance at an attractive price, and it is also perfect for lovers of portable music, thanks to its iPod-digital connectivity.
