    Back In Black

Ranked 73/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Back in Black is the seventh Australian and sixth internationally released studio album by the band.

Released on 25 July 1980, Back in Black was the first AC/DC album recorded without former lead singer Bon Scott, who died on 19 February 1980 at the age of 33, and was dedicated to him. The band considered disbanding following Scott's death, but they ultimately decided to continue, with encouragement from Scott's parents, and shortly thereafter hired Brian Johnson as their new lead singer and lyricist. Producer Robert John Mutt Lange, who had previously worked with AC/DC on Highway to Hell, was again brought in to produce. The album was recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, and Electric Lady Studios in New York, where the album was also mixed.

    '74 Jailbreak

Despite longtime AC/DC fans' immediate acceptance of replacement singer Brian Johnson (resulting in one of rock's all-time best sellers, 1980's Back in Black), there was still demand for Bon Scott-era unreleased tracks. Several of their early albums in Australia and Europe (such as T.N.T.) were later combined together for their first U.S. release, 1976's High Voltage, while several tracks were cut from the original versions and never issued stateside. 1984's five-song EP, '74 Jailbreak, features these forgotten tracks from the band's early days. 'Jailbreak' automatically became a concert standard when the EP came out, and it remains a mystery why it wasn't released earlier. Also included is the largely instrumental 'Soul Stripper,' a cover of 'Baby Please Don't Go,' plus a pair of Angus Young-Malcolm Young-Scott originals: 'You Ain't Got a Hold on Me' and the autobiographical 'Show Business.' Although '74 Jailbreak is by no means a definitive collection of early rarities (such compositions as 'Fling Thing,' 'Love Song,' 'Stick Around,' 'R.I.P.- Rock in Peace,' and 'School Days' remain unreleased in the States), it is a worthwhile, brief snapshot of early AC/DC.

    Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

There's a real sense of menace to Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, the title song of AC/DC's third album. More than most of their songs to date, it captured the seething malevolence of Bon Scott, the sense that he reveled in doing bad things, encouraged by the maniacal riffs of Angus and Malcolm Young who provided him with their most brutish rock & roll yet. But for as glorious as the title track was, the entire album served as a call to arms from a group that wanted nothing more than to celebrate the dirtiest, nastiest instincts humans could have, right down to the insurgent anti-authority vibe that runs throughout the record. Take Big Balls -- sure, it's a dirty joke, but it's a dirty joke with class overthrow in mind. There's a sense on Dirty Deeds that AC/DC is storming the gates -- they're problem children sick of waiting around to be a millionaire, so they're gonna make their own money, even if they take down others as they go. That's what gives Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap its supercharged, nervy pulse; there's a real sense of danger to this record, something that can't be hidden beneath the jokes. Maybe that's why the album wasn't released in the U.S. until 1981, after Bon's death, after AC/DC had become millionaires -- if it arrived any earlier, it would have been too insurrectionist for the common good.

    The Razor's Edge (Awaiting Repress)

Although AC/DC's popularity had decreased by the early '90s, the band still had a lot of life left in it. Arguably the Australian headbangers' strongest album in over half a decade, The Razor's Edge is quintessential AC/DC rowdy, abrasive, unapologetically fun metal full of blistering power chords, memorable hooks, and testosterone-driven lyrics. Lead singer Brian Johnson sounds more inspired than he had since 1983's Flick of the Switch, and lead guitarist Angus Young isn't about to take any prisoners on such hard-hitting material as 'Shot of Love,' the menacing title song, and the appropriately titled 'Got You By the Balls.' Although not quite in a class with Back in Black, Highway to Hell, or Let There Be Rock all of which would, for novices, serve as fine introductions to the distinctive band The Razor's Edge was a welcome addition to AC/DC's catalog.

    Live

Despite the fact that the band's best days were obviously behind them, a live album for AC/DC was all but completely necessary. After all, the group's first live release, If You Want Blood You've Got It, was recorded at a time when AC/DC was nothing more than a cult act that had yet to produce many of its future rock staples. Though recorded well into their career on the Razor's Edge 1991 tour, AC/DC Live surprisingly captures the hype and excitement that made AC/DC such a hit in their heyday. The set list wisely overlooks the songs from the band's mid-'80s slump and concentrates on hard rock hits such as 'Hells Bells,' 'Back in Black,' 'Highway to Hell,' and 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.' Brian Johnson's voice may not be as strong as in the early '80s, but he still sounds competent in his role. All too often, a live album is a cheaply made, rushed recording that only serves as a testament to a band's decline. AC/DC Live, however, shows what makes this band different from their peers here they are still entirely capable of pulling off a great live show. This ranks among the best live metal albums of the '90s. [In February 2003, the American distribution rights to AC/DC's back catalog transferred over to Epic, their new label. Epic reissued the band's catalog as remastered digipacks containing lavish, expanded booklets with plenty of rare photographs, memorabilia, and notes. Although the digipacks may wear a little too easy, the sound is terrific clean and muscular, enhancing the raw qualities of the original record and the packaging is loving, making the reissues necessary for collectors.

    Who Made Who

On paper, Who Made Who is just a cheap soundtrack to a cheap movie (Stephen King's disastrous Maximum Overdrive), but it's actually much more than that. It serves as a ripping AC/DC retrospective, tearing through such classics as 'You Shook Me All Night Long' and 'For Those About to Rock,' adding the pounding title track to the band's canon, and rescuing overlooked songs like 'Sink the Pink' from otherwise mediocre albums. It's not a perfect retrospective there's no 'Back in Black,' 'Highway to Hell,' or 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' but what is here is terrific.

Ten Years of Pussy (Awaiting Repress)

NASHVILLE PUSSY are a band who hail from Atlanta, deep in the heart of the BBQ NATION and sound like AC/DC slap boxing with LYNYRD SKYNYRD while MOTORHEAD watches. They were formed by a husband and wife team of Blaine Cartwright and Ruyter Suys and were born out of the ashes of Blaine's former band NINE POUND HAMMER back in 1997 (In fact Blaine met Ruyter and original bassist Corey Parks at Nine Pound Hammer gigs). Since then they have played over 1,000 gigs in 40 different countries, gathered a GRAMMY nomination, and have toured with, MOTORHEAD, ZZ TOP, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, SLAYER, and a host of other heroes who became instant fans. Ruyter was even voted one of the best female rock performers ever. They have weathered numerous labels, trends and bass players. And, when counted out, have consistently pulled off resurrections that make Jesus look like a rank amateur.

The 16 studio tracks from TEN YEARS OF PUSSY are taken from the band's 3 SPV releases. The most recent, last year's UP THE DOSAGE, has been called NASHVILLE PUSSY'S BACK IN BLACK and was pick of the week on THAT METAL SHOW. FROM HELL TO TEXAS, the band's 2009 cd, was recorded at WILLIE NELSON'S studio in Texas and features the band's strongest songwriting. And GET SOME from 2005, was the first SPV release and the first collaboration with DANIEL REY, and has more hooks than a hillbilly's tackle box. Put on TEN YEARS OF PUSSY and celebrate the band's recent past and while looking forward to rocking with them in the near future.

"Play Ball" is the first track off of AC/DC's new album, Rock or Bust, and premiered on iHeart Media's
Mainstream, Active and Classic Rock radio formats. "Play Ball" is featured as part of Turner Sports' 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason campaign and also NFL's Monday Night Football broadcast.

Rock or Bust features a non-traditional and inventive three-dimensional lenticular cover, which gives the illusion of the band's iconic logo exploding as the packaging is moved in different directions. This unique 3-D cover art can be seen on the band's site. 'Rock or Bust' was recorded in Spring 2014 in Vancouver, BC with producer Brendan O'Brien and mixed by Mike Fraser. 'Rock or Bust' is the band's first album of new material in six years, following their immensely successful 'Black Ice,' which entered charts at #1 in 31 countries and has sold nearly 8 million copies worldwide.

After carving out a fervent fan base and drawing widespread critical applause with their heady, high-voltage brand of guitar-driven rock, shooting from both hip and heart, Nashville's Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown find themselves at the epicenter of an advanced rock 'n' roll adventure that continues to take them around the world, appearing at some of the biggest venues along the way

Starting with a guest spot on AC/DC's 'Rock or Bust' World Tour in 2016, the quartet - Caleb Crosby on drums, Noah Denney on bass and backing vocals, Graham Whitford on guitar and Texas-born Tyler himself on vocals and guitar, a musician immersed in blues music from an early age - have continued to share events and stages with some of rock's most legendary names, including Guns N' Roses, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Aerosmith, Deep Purple and ZZ Top.

At the same time as projecting their music into stadiums, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown - The Shakedown to friends and fans - have continued to build their name and reputation as a headline act, and indeed it was backstage after a sold-out, bill-topping show in London (June 2017) that the band signed their new deal with Snakefarm Records - the most immediate and exciting result being an 11-track, self-titled studio album set to be the label's inaugural release, with November 3rd locked in as the day of the launch

"So many great things have happened over the past few months," exclaims Caleb, "and it's all just so surreal. I remember seeing that Guns N' Roses were playing two stadium shows in London on June 16th and 17th earlier this year, which are birthdays for Noah and myself, back to back, and I said wouldn't it be amazing if we appeared on both of those shows and we did!"

Rewinding back to 2008, Tyler moved to Nashville by himself at the ripe age of 17 to write songs and form a band. It was here he met Caleb, and together they put together what would become The Shakedown

"The instant we started playing, I knew there was something special," reflects Caleb. "We played our first show a week later and haven't stopped since!"

The next addition to the ranks was Graham Whitford, a young guitarist from Boston, Massachusetts. Introduced to Tyler as the guy who could put him out of a job, it was clear from the start that Whitford was a force to be reckoned with. As soon as Tyler heard him play, he asked him to uproot and move to Nashville to join the band.

All that was needed now was the right bassist: enter Noah Denney, who instantly added a whole new dimension to The Shakedown's sound. As Tyler recalls, "his bass sound scared me and he brought an edge and an attitude to the band that we didn't even know we needed."

2013's 'Wild Child' album announced the quartet's arrival with a bang as they logged time on the road with the likes of Aerosmith, Jeff Beck & ZZ Top, while receiving the endorsement of Guitar World, Rolling Stone, Los Angeles Times, Nylon, Interview Magazine and Paste. Taking over TV, they lit up the stage at both Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and AXS Live.

Following the release of 'The Wayside' EP (2015, produced by Grammy Award winner Vance Powell), the boys crisscrossed the country alongside Billy Gibbons & AC/DC on that celebrated 2016 run. April 2017 found them without a label and only a month out from joining Guns N' Roses on a European tour

"We had just decided to self-produce a record completely on our own," says Tyler. "I'll never forget driving home that morning and getting a call from our manager saying, 'You wanna go back to Europe with Guns N Roses?' That was a great kick-start to the first day of tracking."

So they hunkered down and set about writing & recording their second full-length album, with John Fields (Soul Asylum, Paul Westerberg) coming on board to handle the mix. Blending a sense of history with a youthful, energetic heartbeat, this anticipated outing features a host of brand new tracks, some of which have become staples of the live set. It also stands as the start of a relationship with the newly-launched Snakefarm label.

Housed within the global infrastructure of Spinefarm Records (a UMG label), the Snakefarm brand will provide a targeted home for international artists, both established and new, from the increasingly buoyant roots rock world - music based on authenticity and emotion, under-pinned by core values and beliefs.

In this respect, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown - who can lay claim to a fast-growing international presence, with major UK festivals such as Download, Ramblin' Man and British Summer Time already under their belt, alongside headline shows plus guest appearances with Nashville neighbors The Cadillac Three - are a flagship representation; what's more, in 'Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown' they've delivered a genuine genre-defying labour of love, a varied and infectious statement shot through with passion, pride and a welcome dash of glamour.

"This is the definitive Shakedown record as of now, and that's why we decided it should be self-titled," explains a fired-up Tyler. "It's the definitive Shakedown record due to the fact there were no other cooks in the kitchen. We put so much energy into writing and recording each song. It's not just a guitar album; it's a song album, and I'm proud to hang my hat on this one."

The first single / video, 'Heartland', introduces Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown with a one-two punch of gritty guitars and soulful vocals before slipping into a hypnotic bridge punctuated by airy clean guitars. Tyler sings, "There's a slow beat in the heartland, going down in the quicksand, stack 'em up and watch the cards fall, if it happens to one, then it happens to all".

"It's no secret that there's crazy stuff going on all over the world right now. There's madness all around and people are constantly picking sides. Every night when the Shakedown takes the stage, I'm amazed that music brings people together. Nobody is thinking about what side they're on when they're singing at the top of their lungs next to a complete stranger. I thought maybe through music I could remind myself and our TBSD family that when one person falls, the rest of us do, too. I wanna get together with a bunch of folks and sing that sentiment because it's one I strongly believe in.

Elsewhere, 'Backfire' struts along on a stomping drum groove driven by thick distortion with lyrics "about pulling the short end of the straw and feeling vengeful". Then there's 'Aftershock'. Hinging on hummable riffing, the track simmers at a steady swamp crawl before the Sabbathian refrain.

"That's a tune about feeling the effects of a situation long after it's come and gone.

As Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown spend 2017 lighting up stages with the likes of Guns N' Roses (again), The Who & Alice Cooper - as well as making their first appearance at Rock In Rio - this new album sees them fully realize their vision with a sound that resounds above the bleachers, plus a collective desire to keep the entertainment flag fully unfurled

"I want people to put this on and literally escape," Tyler leaves off. "I hope they feel free. That's what rock 'n' roll makes me feel. You don't have to think about your bills or any of the other things that have the power to bring you down when you've got your fist up in the air, your eyes closed and you're lost in the music. Angus Young told me, 'You've got to make the audience think you're taking them on a journey, and they'll go with you. If you believe it, they will too'. I believe it with this record."

iFi Audio iPower DC Power Supply

The central characteristic of iFi is in pursuit of the zenith in audio performance: it leaves no stone unturned. Well, the all new iPOWER is an exemplary example of this. Despite the fact that the iFi Ultra-Low Noise AC/DC adapter was exceptionally quiet and elevated the iUSB and iPhono to punch way beyond their respective categories, the all new iPower is even quieter, up to 10x quieter in fact.

What is it? Brand new audiophile-standard DC-power supply: In 5V, 9V, 12V and even 15V versions.

Which products is it aimed at? Virtually any DC powered device. Just check the correct voltage (5V/9V/12V/15V). Check the correct polarity setup. Ensure the current output is sufficient, then plug in and enjoy.

Three years ago, iFi's Ultra-Low Noise AC/DC power adapter set the way and underpinned the whole iFi range from the iUSB to the iPhono leading to their loyal following.

Well, not to rest on its laurels, iFi now has a completely new 'ground-up' DC powered supply.

Drawing from the military field (specifically the Thales Spectra radar cancellation system deployed in the French Dassault Rafale jet fighter), iFi adapted this technology to exclusively introduce the Active Noise Cancellation+ ® (ANC+®) audio power system. It is so good ANC technology is now a cornerstone of the ever-improving iFi USB audio technology range.

By generating a signal identical to the noise signal but in the exact opposite phase, it actively cancels all the incoming noise. ANC+® is the perfect 'antidote' for power supply noise, the bane of USB audio.

With ANC+® the power line is filtered for audio band and RF noise. The measured noise floor of 1uV (0.000001V) is at the measurement limit of what even the most sophisticated Audio Precision equipment is capable of.

Measured on the Audio Precision 2, the iPower has an astonishingly low audio band noise floor of just 1uV! To put this into context, iFi's very own Ultra-Low Noise AC/DC adapter was in a class of its own at 10uV. Compared to a typical audiophile Linear Power Supply which measured at 20uV, it is demonstrably clear AMR/iFi power supply technology is unparalleled.

Shaping the face of technology, AMR/iFi not only pushes the boundaries of audio design, but power design too. After all, electricity is the 'fuel' behind the audio signal.
There are two separate, but similar 'Array Technologies' in the iPOWER:

    • 12-Element Output Array - is for addressing noise on the output (at the DC barrel) end.
    • 6-Element Input Array - is for dealing with noise at the input (at the 2-pin mains) end.

What this means is that any noise is contained and neutralized with the iPOWER to halt it from contaminating the local mains or audio system. iFi is one of a handful of companies that manufacture 'battery quiet' DC power supplies. Just like hybrid technology in cars, both have come a long way in a short space of time and are gaining wider acceptance.

At iFi, we like to think comprehensively and while the majority of home and pro audio products have a 'centre positive' DC power connector type, if your product such as a guitar pedal or a Sony Discman has a 'centre negative' instead of 'centre positive' pin, it is important to use the iFi power inverter. If you are unsure of the DC polarity of your product, please check with your vendor. For equipment using a DC power connection, it is common practice to include protection circuitry against over-voltage/reverse polarity, but not every manufacturer will have applied this. Always check first as AMR/iFi is not responsible for incorrect use or damage arising from use of the iPower.

AMR/iFi understands and appreciates that today, being portable and user-friendly is paramount. So the iPower is light, convenient and above all, easy to travel with and work in any country in the world. It comes in 5V, 9V ,12V and 15V versions for all manners of DC powered devices and a set of interchangeable pins to span the globe: for USA/UK/EU/AUS electrical outlets. Performance and portability personified.

In summary, all the technology behind the iPower would count for little if it was not audible. Well, it is both. With the all-new iPower, the noise floor is virtually inaudible and the all-important level of refinement (whether listening to an analogue or digital source) has been amplified several notches.

Best of all, all existing iFi-powered devices all benefit, and in the different DC-power versions, the iPower now compliments non-iFi DC-powered products too. So all can enjoy the "sound of iFi."

The USB power line runs on 5v and the Raspberry Pi/Cubox/BeagleBone (or similar Microcomputer) is rapidly becoming the most popular computer server option. So, each iPOWER (5v version ONLY) ships with the DC > micro USB cable so that the iPOWER (5v) can supply pure, clean power to the microcomputer for the optimal computer audio playback.

    With 2M Red Cartridge

The best-buy turntable classic with carbon tonearm and DC power supply!

The first Debut turntable, introduced in the late 1990s, was a revolution for the hi-fi industry. For the first time after the arrival of Compact Disc and the assumed demise of vinyl records, an analogue product re-emerged in the "mass market" - something all music lovers could afford.

The new DEBUT Carbon DC has been designed to set new standards in this category for the coming decade - perfectly timed as analogue today is again a respected source, while the demand for good turntables is growing again!

The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a CARBON TUBE for the tonearm, which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. This material normally is extensively used in high-end tonearms, but - because of cost reasons - was never used in products at lower price levels. Together with other improvements like an increase in platter size and weight to realize even smoother rotation, the overall sound quality is greatly improved. The approved belt drive design offers low noise AC motor with effective motor decoupling (utilizing TPE-damping) and ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability without unwanted vibration.

The DEBUT CARBON DC will be offered in high-gloss black or shiny red, green, blue, yellow, purple, silver or white as no-added-cost option.
