All Our Gods Have Abandoned UsARCHITECTS UK are a band who've never shied away from challenging the world around
them. Long lauded as some of modern metal's most progressive-thinking minds, for the
past decade, the quintet have pushed boundaries, redefined genres, and never feared
having to question themselves in order for their art to leave its mark on this Earth. ARCHITECTS
UK, are a band like few others; The quintet all practice a vegan lifestyle, tour
with a consciousness about their footprint on the world, and devote time and energies to
Their 7th studio album, All Out Gods Have Abandoned Us is the heaviest and darkest
work to which the band have ever put their name, both on and below its surface. "To me,
All Our Gods is about getting to the root of the dysfunctions and disillusionment that
cause all of this mess, be it personal or political or environmental," says ARCHITECTS
UK guitarist and principle songwriter, Tom Searle. ARCHITECTS UK lineup also includes
Tom's twin brother Dan on drums, Sam Carter on lead vocals, guitarist Adam Christianson
and Ali Dean on bass.
For the follow-up to their 2014 album Lost Forever/Lost Together, ARCHITECTS UK returned
to Gothenburg's Studio Fredman and the production team of Fredrik Nordström
and Henrik Udd and it was they who would once again be entrusted to help translate the

The ArchitectThe Architect is the 4th studio album from Paloma Faith. The singer released her UK certified double platinum debut album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful? in 2009, followed by Fall to Grace in 2012, and A Perfect Contradiction in 2014 which has been her most successful album to date.
The Architect album features the singles Guilty and Crybaby. In addition to a stellar collection of new songs, Paloma invited a supporting cast on this album that includes Samuel L. Jackson, John Legend, Rag 'n' Bone Man and David Arnold. Commenting on this body of work, Paloma says I was adamant with this record that I wouldn't write about love - I wanted to look outside of myself and write about wider issues facing our world, but ironically, when you listen to it, it's really a whole album about love.1. DawningMight the time finally be right for Mouth of the Architect? For a decade, the Ohio band has largely been ghettoized to cult status, familiar to Midwestern kids or those paying more than casual attention to what's clumsily called "post-metal," at least post-Isis. Between 2004 and 2008, Mouth of the Architect released three rather convincing-- if sometimes haphazardly indulgent-- records of unified doom and grace. Dependent upon extreme dynamics and grand composition, with track lengths that ticked into the teens and albums that stretched past the hour mark, Mouth of the Architect seemed like a natural recipient of the same "brainy metal" laurels then distributed by outlets as illustrious as The New York Times.
But the ascendance never came, and since 2008's teetering Quietly, the band instead lingered at the threshold of self-destruction. They released an EP in 2010, but, as a revealing Invisible Oranges look into the band's last half-decade suggests, they mostly tried not to die-- as a group, really, or as people. "Some of us were convinced that the end was coming, either the big picture or individually," drummer Dave Mann told Brad Sanders. "Some of us, me in particular, were in a downward spiral in a lot of ways."
The appropriately titled new album Dawning is their first in five years and their first featuring bassist Evan Danielson. It's also their best work to date, a fully realized resurrection. Dawning showcases a band that now moves with an intricacy and immediacy that indicate just what Mouth of the Architect is: a veteran group comprising members with long rÉsumÉs, who've now gotten a chance to begin again and know what to do with it. A wonder of tension and release, Dawning is designed to throw listeners into tailspins and, then, to lift them above the mess. That drama not only reflects the survival of the band that stuck around long enough to make this album but also of a group that's now pushed past the cloister of post-metal: Despite the hardened visage of tough-guy screams, burly guitar tones, and Mann's aggressive drumming, Dawning is a compulsively likable record, full of anthems meant for memorizing and environments meant for immersion. (Hell, "Sharpen Your Axes" could pass for millennial Incubus.) If you've ever liked Isis there's plenty for you here; on the other hand, if you like, say, Abbey Road-- or any music that tries to outstrip the structure of a single song while not abandoning its magnetism-- Dawning deserves your time, too.
Should the metal prefixes "progressive" or even "post-" suggest long-winded, self-invested excursions nestled within songs that require an almanac, scrap the notion for Dawning. Yes, these songs stretch between seven and 11 minutes each, but even the longest, centerpiece "How This Will End, hinges upon narrative thrust and musical selflessness. If there are any guitar solos here at all, they come toward the start and the finish of "How This Will End, when a neon electric tone arches over a mounting cavalcade of drums and bass. Rather than serve as breaks in the momentum, though, both passages lead tremendous swells that rise to meet the troika of vocalists in another instance of triumph. Not one moment among these 11 minutes seems squandered or lost, as the quintet keeps rising and falling, churning and rebuilding.
Opener "Lullabye" establishes that principle from the jump, or as soon as traipsing acoustic guitar and twinkling piano concede to a heroic riff wrapped within three-part, gang-style harmonies. Mouth of the Architect move constantly between parts; at various points, they leap from near-silence to a quake viscous enough to make plenty of stoner metal sound thin, from guitar leads that suggest Chicago blues moan to math-rock redirection. Behind the kit, Mann serves as the expert rudder, keeping the songs steady even as he navigates the transfers. This constant swivel also depends upon the split vocal duties of Steve Brooks, Kevin Schindel, and Jason Watkins. They trade verses, flip-flopping between pristine radio rock leads and malevolent growls, sometimes only for a line at the time. They often share choruses, delivering them the sort of group-vocal abandon that hints at a darkened Danielson Family. Their singing-- here, more charged and urgent than it's ever been-- gives all of the band's moving pieces a through-line from one side to the other.
Talk of the tide of intelligent or somehow otherwise-elevated heavy music hasn't faded during Mouth of the Architect's temporary absence. Though both Sunn O))) and the late Isis have only released one album since MotA's last one, the acceptance of and debate over nominally black metal acts such as Liturgy, Wolves in the Throne Room, Krallice and Deafheaven has kept that conversation current. Mouth of the Architect only nods to that au courant talking point during Dawning, most notably with the blizzard of tremolo guitars that open "It Swarms" and the clattering way the band emerges from an instrumental break during "Sharpen Your Axes". But at the very least, Dawning deserves mention alongside Deafheaven's Sunbather, a record that's most notable for its holistic approach to drama and romance and the complete cinema of itself. Mouth of the Architect has long written from a vantage of imminent apocalypse, a perspective Dawning does not forego. There's talk of collapsing systems and prevailing darkness, spent luck and idolized disrepair. But at record's end, when Mouth of the Architect's three singers trade and share lines about risking it all even if they come up short, it's hard not to hear a core of redemption and potential hope within the music itself. And after returning from the brink to make one of the year's most rapturous records, metal or post-metal or whatever, there had better be.

SONM-LEG-1311xBig Brother & The Holding Company feat. Janis Joplin
Live At The Carousel Ballroom 1968Starting in 1966, Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the
Holding Company became accidental architects of what
would be known as the San Francisco Sound. During that
important cultural watershed quaintly referred to as the
Summer of Love, they provided an unruly, party-tastic link
between the cool, cerebral music of the Jefferson Airplane
and the psychedelic covenant of the Grateful Dead.
LIVE AT THE CAROUSEL BALLROOM 1968 is a previously
unavailable live concert recording of Big Brother and
the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin, recorded
by legendary soundman Owsley Stanley, a/k/a Bear,
who supervised the mastering of this release before his
fatal car accident on March 12, 2011. The release of the
album marks the one-year anniversary of his passing and is
dedicated to Bear.
This is Bears unique vision how he heard the band live,
and how he wanted to transmit it. From the very speciï¬c
(non)stereo mix, to the cover artwork he commissioned
from Stanley Mouse, to the liner notes written by those
who knew Bear best, this truly is Bears presentation of this phenomenal band and inspirational music.LP1

Following up her critically acclaimed solo album Obadiah, Miss Ford returns with the lush, redemptive
Indian Ocean, fulfilling a lifelong dream of working with the Hi Rhythm Section (made famous for
backing up Al Green and Ann Peebles) in the historic Royal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee.
The album's creative cycle spanned over two years, involving two recording trips to Memphis and multiple
studio sessions with Frazey's Vancouver musicians. The iconic architects of the Al Green instrumental
sound-Teenie Hodges (guitar), Charles Hodges (organ) and Leroy Hodges (bass) lent their almighty talents
to help Frazey's songs find their distinctive groove. The end result of all of this collective creative meshing

Bidin' My TimeChris Hillman, whose credits include co-founding Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Byrds, as well as the Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas and Desert Rose Band, is truly one of the architects of American music. His newest solo work, Bidin' My Time, produced by Tom Petty and executive-produced by Herb Pedersen, captures a rarity: an icon who has never sounded better, making music with old friends for the sheer love of it.
Collaborators and admirers from Hillman's storied career appear throughout the record: Tom Petty; Hillman's Byrds bandmates David Crosby and Roger McGuinn; the Heartbreakers' Benmont Tench, Mike Campbell, and Steve Ferrone; Desert Rose Band's John Jorgenson, Pedersen, and Jay Dee Maness; premier upright bassist Mark Fain; singer/guitarist Josh JovÉ; and fiddler Gabe Witcher.
The album kicks off with a new recording of Pete Seeger's and Welsh poet Idris Davies' 'The Bells of Rhymney,' which the Byrds recorded for their debut. 'Here She Comes Again' was co-written by Hillman and McGuinn and, until now, had only been recorded on a live Byrds album in Australia. 'She Don't Care About Time' was written by Byrds co-founder Gene Clark, and was the original B-side to 'Turn! Turn! Turn!' Covers of the Everly Brothers' 'Walk Right Back' and Petty's 'Wildflowers' round out this understated yet undeniable masterpiece.

Worship MusicWorship Music is the long-awaited new studio album from Anthrax, one of the four original architects of speed and thrash-metal. Not only is Worship Music Anthraxs first studio release in eight years, but the album marks the return of vocalist Joey Belladonna, whose last studio work with the band was 1990s Persistence of Time. Belladonna is now firmly back in the Anthrax line up with drummer Charlie Benante, guitarists Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano, and bassist Frank Bello.
Getting Joey back in as our full-time, permanent singer solidified us as a unit like we hadnt been in years, said Ian. All of us were on the same page creatively, working together, writing together, and becoming a band again.
I get goosebumps listening to the new music, Benante admitted. Scott and Robs guitars are absolutely on fire, Frankie kicks butt on bass, and hearing Joey sing, well, the band sounds like Anthrax, Joeys back and its great.
The 11-track Worship Music was produced by Anthrax, Rob Caggiano and Jay Ruston and recorded over a four-year period at studios in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Belladonnas return to the band prompted some of the songs originally recorded to be re-crafted with fresh lyrics or tweaked to better suit his overall vibe and energy. Some of the songs were completely replaced with brand-new songs and, of course, all have Belladonnas inimitable vocal stamp on them.
Im very happy with the record, it sounds like Anthrax, said Belladonna. There are some interesting twists and turns on it, and plenty of tunes for fans to get their fingers on. I felt very comfortable working with Jay Ruston, and I think everyone brought to the table what they needed to. Now its time for the fans to listen and get what theyve been waiting for. All Harm Ends HereThe Early Day Miners Good Time Band is back with another platter of Midwest post-goth. Having already introduced their new rhythm section (Matt Griffin on drums and Jonathan Richardson on bass) to the world over the course of their last two tours, with All Harm Ends Here Early Day Miners have combined the lushness of their second album Let Us Garlands Bring with the conciseness of their last full-length Jefferson At Rest. Moreso than on any of their previous efforts, EDM take both musical and tonal cues from the principal architects of the 80's sad-as-hell dark underground - Echo & the Bunnymen, the Church, early-the Cure, and most notably the Bauhaus/Tones On Tail/Love And Rockets axis. While contemporaries like Bedhead and Interpol have mined primarily the darkest aspects of these long shadows, there lies in Early Day Miners' method an innate sense of hope that transcends even their darkest themes (decay, suicide, desertion). Perhaps this is most evident in the guitar interplay of long-time collaborators Dan Burton (Ativin) and Joseph Brumley. Arpeggios abound, the works of Roger McGuinn and The Edge come to mind in that there is a sense of hopefulness and sublimation which drives the songs to a better place. While the album is filled with death and ghosts of all sorts, its unifying theme is the individual's ability to escape the death and ghosts. Even the making of the album (which was done just outside of the band's hometown of Bloomington, Indiana, on the outskirts of Hoosier National Forest) was plagued by ghosts and phantoms. Recorded at the Old Mt. Gilead Church - recently revamped into a recording studio and still immediately surrounded on three sides by a dozen acres of 150-year old cemetery - principal tracking for All Harm Ends Here was halted for days at a time on multiple occasions when inexplicable flutter infected the reels of tape, almost requiring EDM to relocate its principal tracking altogether. Mixing and overdubbing was done at Burton's own Grotto Home Studio in an effort to evade those ghosts in the machine which possessed Old Mt. Gilead. While the Early Day Miners don't make flashy music, their layered music rewards the repeat listener. If you listen closely enough, in fact, you can hear ghosts in the distance.Errance

You Are Not AloneSoul Gospel Legend at the Top of Her Game: Staples Declared Best Artist at 2010's Lollapalooza Festival
Hallelujah: You Are Not Alone Might Be the Best New Album You Hear in 2010
Stellar Set Produced by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and Features Songs by Allen Toussaint, John Fogerty, Tweedy, Randy Newman, and More
The best album you hear in 2010? You Are Not Alone will be at the top of the list. This is music that's timeless, soulful, and pertinent, performed with an energy and commitment that burns with the same level of conviction as Mavis Staples' belief in a higher power. Here's a record that will change your life and elevate your mood. Just as its two main architects intended.
When Wilco leader Jeff Tweedy and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Mavis Staples sat down to talk about what they wanted her new album to sound like, they both turned to the original spiritual roots of the Staples Singers as a backbone. Both wanted to make a record about connection, about reaching out to someone through the power of music. What they achieved is the album of Staples' career, a warm, powerful, spiritual, and fervent collection of brilliantly chosen and interpreted songs.
Produced by fellow Chicagoan Jeff Tweedy at Wilcos studio The Loft, the intimate and textured production--glorious on LP--mixes traditional gospel numbers with two new songs written for Mavis by Tweedy, plus her unique interpretations of songs by Pops Staples, Randy Newman, Allen Toussaint, John Fogerty, Rev. Gary Davis and Little Milton. Backed by Mavis smoking touring band (Rick Holmstrom, guitar, vocals; Jeff Turmes, bass, vocals; Stephen Hodges, drums; Donny Gerrard, background vocals) and featuring guest turns from Tweedy and Wilcos Patrick Sansone, with background vocals by Kelly Hogan and Nora OConnor, the album cradles Mavis exquisite voice, allowing her to stretch out emotionally on tracks like Randy Newmans Losing You and the Creedence Clearwater Revival chesnut Wrote a Song For Everyone.
The two songs Jeff wrote for Mavis meld seamlessly into the vibe and theme of the album: He would listen to my conversations, my words, and then feed off that. The songs he wrote take me places I wouldnt normally go, says Mavis.
Already one of the bestâ€received releases of 2010, Mavis message of joy and redemption has found the setting it has always deserved. Truly, a must-own album that will last you a lifetime.1. Dont Knock

Source of PrideCyan Haze On Milky White Colored Vinyl
Source of Pride is the second full-length album by Roman Ruins (Graham Hill). The album continues his exploration into the distinctive yet evolving sound of his solo recording project. The songs on Source of Pride formed as Hill moved his family from Oakland to New Orleans, where he now lives and works as an architect and a father to 2 young children. Hill often worked late at night, which helped define the aural landscape that belies each track. As the songs began to take shape, Hill's wife remarked how every time I'm pregnant, you're pregnant with an album. The lyrical themes on Source of Pride address the relationships, rituals, and revelations that constitute family.1. Loved One

Run180 Gram Double LP
Following a whirlwind two-year world tour in support of Megalithic Symphony, 2014 saw Awolnation withdraw into the depths of the California coastline to construct the sophomore effort. A culmination of the years following the release of the debut album, the 14-track Run was written, performed and produced entirely by musical architect Aaron Bruno. The end result is a finely tuned musical masterwork that is at times, and all at once, sprawling, atmospheric, exuberant, earnest and refined with moments of a signature aggressive unease. 'There is not one second on the record that hasn't been thoughtfully placed,' said Bruno. 'Every single element serves a purpose.'
Standout songs alongside the first single Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf) include the cinematic Jailbreak, the soaring anthem I Am, the title track Run, the euphoric Windows, the painfully vulnerable Headrest for My Soul, and the atomic rebellion of KOOKSEVERYWHERE!!!!1. Run

Moussorgsky/Ravel: Pictures At An Exhibition (45 RPM)RCA Living Stereo Classical LPs - The Gold Standard For Top Quality Orchestral Performance And Sound!

Lacquers Plated By Gary Salstrom And Pressed On 200-Gram Vinyl At Quality Record Pressings!
Another sonic and musical blockbuster from the unbeatable combo of Reiner and RCA (and Mohr & Layton). Recorded in 1957 at Chicago's Orchestra Hall; the original analog session tapes were used in mastering for LPs and SACDS. Mussorgsky's inspiration for Pictures was the death of his dear friend, the architect and visual artist Victor Hartman. Having died at age 39, Hartman had not yet had the opportunity to realize any of his architectural visions, and Mussorgsky was angered that his friend would have no legacy. The Architects' Society arranged an exhibition of some of Hartman's sketches - some of architecture, others of characters or scenes from everyday life. The tribute was enough to give Mussorgsky ideas for his composition, but not enough to give Hartman any lasting place in history. Today, of all of the sketches that were captured in music, only six can be positively identified.
The piece is known today primarily through the orchestral version created by Maurice Ravel in 1922. In fact, the work had already been orchestrated multiple times, by a variety of lesser names. Some conductors today find that Ravel's version, in spite of its color, sacrifices some of the coarse nature inherent in Mussorgsky's piano original. Furthermore, Ravel worked from Rimsky-Korsakov's edited version of the piano part - the only one available at the time - which changed some notes and rhythms.
None of the orchestrations, however, change the fundamental spirit of the piece. Mussorgsky imagines himself making his way down the hallway that showcased his late friend's work, with his stately procession represented by the Promenade that opens the piece and returns several times. Upon stopping at each image, he reflects on what he sees. Between the early movements, the promenade returns regularly, as Mussorgsky is conscious of moving from one scene to the next. As the work progresses, however, he becomes less aware of the interval between pictures, and more immersed in the continuous psychological experience of moving from one state of mind to the next. By the end, the composer sees himself transformed by the connection with Hartman through his visual expressions of Russian pride and humanity.

Joy Division: Box SetReleased in a Limited Edition of only 3,000 copies worldwide, this 180-Gram virgin vinyl, four-disc JOY DIVISION BOX SET contains new pressings of the band's two seminal studio albums - UNKNOWN PLEASURES ('79) and CLOSER ('80) - and the 1981 two-disc rarities compilation STILL.
JOY DIVISION: BOX SET allows you to experience these pioneering albums the way they were heard originally - on sonically rich vinyl LPs. The three titles - a total of four LPS - come housed in an elegant cloth-covered box designed by U.K. artist Peter Saville, who created the distinctive artwork and packaging on the original issues of these classic releases. Once the 3,000 copies sell out, the box will not be reproduced.
Joy Division's 1979 debut UNKNOWN PLEASURES is a landmark album that established the band as principal architects and ultimate icons of the post-punk movement and the U.K. Manchester scene of the late '70s. UNKNOWN PLEASURES' ten classic songs resonate with the atmospheric textures and deep sonic spaces of Martin Hannett's production. Highlights include Insight, Disorder, New Dawn Fades and She's Lost Control. The latter song is the inspiration for the title of the 2007 film Control, the acclaimed Anton Corbijn-directed feature chronicling the life and times of Joy Division's lead singer and principal songwriter, the late Ian Curtis.
Joy Division's 1980 follow-up CLOSER, another seminal post-punk masterpiece, ranks #157 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. Musically and lyrically driven by the prevailing despair of Ian Curtis - who killed himself only months after the LP was released - CLOSER was also produced by Martin Hannett, who weaves sprawling emotional chaos and shifting atmospheres and textures together into an enormously powerful ten-song tour de force. Stand-outs include Heart And Soul, Isolation, Eternal, Decades and the wrenching Twenty Four Hours.
The compilation STILL came out in late 1981, over a year after Curtis' death. Comprised of twenty studio outtakes, b-sides, live cuts and other rarities, all the tracks were previously unissued at the time of STILL's original release except for Glass and Dead Souls, both compelling studio recordings from 1978 and 1979, respectively. STILL also presents material from Joy Division's last-ever concert, recorded at Birmingham University in May 1980 including the only time they performed Ceremony live (the song would later become a New Order single). Another track captured at Birmingham is Shadowplay, a selection covered in 2007 by The Killers for the soundtrack for the film Control. Other highlights include a live cover of The Velvet Underground's Sister Ray and a 1979 studio recording of Something Must Break.
Joy Division formed in Manchester, England in 1977, and had an immense and profound impact on contemporary music in a very brief time together. They recorded only two full-length studio albums, UNKNOWN PLEASURES and CLOSER, prior to lead singer Ian Curtis' 1980 suicide, just before the single Love Will Tear Us Apart became their breakthrough hit. The remaining members - guitarist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris - disbanded Joy Division after Curtis' death, and re-formed as New Order.Unknown Pleasures Track Listing:
