Ranked 19/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Remastered from the Original Analog Tapes by Kevin Grey at Acoustech and Pressed on 180g RTI vinyl! True Audiophile-Quality!

Van Morrison's 1968 release, Astral Weeks remains not only his masterpiece, but one of the greatest records ever made. The haunting, deeply personal collection of impressionistic folk styled epics was recorded with an all star jazz backing unit that included bassist Richard Davis and drummer Connie May and its absolutely awash in overwhelming emotional beauty. The poetic complexity of the material combined with Morrison's vocal dexterity and passion make it one of those rare albums for which the word timeless is not only appropriate but inescapable.

A Ghost Story is the new film from director David Lowery (Pete's Dragon) starring Casey Affleck (Manchester By The Sea) and Rooney Mara (Carol). In this singular exploration of legacy, love, loss, and the enormity of existence, the movie follows a recently deceased, white-sheeted ghost returning to his suburban home to try and reconnect with his bereft wife. The score to A Ghost Story was composed by Lowrey's frequent collaborator Daniel Hart (Tumbledown). Astral in sound and cosmic in scope, Hart's compositions for A Ghost Story will haunt you.

I Set My Friends On Fire have come a long way since their electro]hardcore cover of Soulja Boyfs gCrank Dath became an internet sensation in 2008. All My Favorite Singers Are Willie Nelson

Astral Swan's All My Favorite Singers Are Willie Nelson is a collection of stark psychedelic folk from the unfiltered neuroses of Calgary's Matthew Swann. Songs steeped in universal anguish, marveling at the world's knack for enterprise and cannibalism, come across instead as subtle, reassuring lullabies. These are quiet, relatable anthems for the outsider set, balancing gentle melodies on Swann's self-obsession with moral fallibility. On first single "Beginning Of The End", Swann delves into the album's various drug states in his sweetly apprehensive tone, a lowly guitar dancing loosely with intoxicated children, asking: "Who told the kids in the yard that they're mostly dust? Now they just stay drunk. Keep getting more fucked up".

Equally inspired by serene 60's folk, 80's no-wave alienation, and the insouciance of 90's grunge, Astral Swans' music is spacious yet constrained, hauntingly personal and oddly sincere. The skeletal "Let Their Faces All Blur Out" races softly with the punk rock abandon of early Sonic Youth and Eric's Trip; "What Calms You Down, Freaks Me Out" bears the ominous pleasance of Syd Barrett, Arthur Russell, Nick Drake, and fellow Calgarian Chad VanGaalen. More structured than Swann's Extra Happy Ghost!!! project (produced by VanGaalen), this album's experimental spirit denies the haphazard "singer-songwriter" label that some might attach to Astral Swans.

Set for release on Dan Mangan's Madic Records, these twelve songs lavish in Swann's startlingly sardonic reflections, in his own words, "confronting our strange ways of experiencing personhood, in the moral gorge between ideals and inadequacies". Tracked live in Swann's living room, and later embellished in an old Calgary warehouse with local experimental/improv mainstay Brad Hawkins (Ghostkeeper), All My Favorite Singers Are Willie Nelson is flawed if not for its air of accidental perfection, normalizing existential struggle with rhythm and harmony, a natural marriage of the sweet to the acrid.

    Images du Futur

Images du Futur builds upon the intensity of Suuns' debut, but often does so through new textures and subtler dynamic maneuvering. Album standout Edie's Dream begins with a single bass line repeated from which layers build & rise - first drums, then a wash of white noise; echoes of guitar, then chanted vocals. The song's clever shifts are jazz-touched and delicate, almost subliminal. It all makes for a stark, skeletal boogie - more an astral projection than a song. Edie's Dream exemplifies the restraint of which Suuns is capable and works to make the unhinged moments all the more devastating.

    Space Ritual

Recorded live in December 1972 and released the following year, Space Ritual is an excellent document of Hawkwind's classic lineup, underscoring the group's status as space rock pioneers. As the quintessential people's band, Incorporating most of Doremi Fasol Latido, the show for the Space Ritual tour was conceived as a space rock opera, its blend of sci-fi electronics, mesmerizing psy-fi grooves, and heavy, earthbound jamming punctuated with spoken word interludes from astral poet Bob Calvert.

    Common One

Common One is the twelfth studio album by Northern Irish singer/songwriter Van Morrison - Originally released in 1980

Easily among Van Morrison's least successful albums, Common One is probably also his least understood. Arriving in the wake of the far more concise, focused Into the Music, this 1980 project found Morrison making a sweeping left turn toward the open-ended, jazz-fueled vamps and spiritual questing of his impressionistic classic, Astral Weeks, 12 years earlier. The LP contains only six songs, several woefully uneven, and fans of his tautly constructed, soul-inflected '70s work could only scratch their heads, yet the heightened horn colorations and pre-industrial imagery of the opener, In Haunts of Ancient Peace, are a signpost to Morrison's thematic preoccupations in the decade to follow. Even more seminal is Summertime in England, which sets sail for the Astral plane and stays largely on course thanks to the horn section of Mark Isham and Pee Wee Ellis, and Morrison's own hallucinatory incantation to his bardic precursors. Without these brave journeys, Morrison's soul-searching '80s trips would have sounded far different. --Sam Sutherland

Blowin' Your Mind, the first album by Van Morrison, is generally regarded as the warming up round to Astral Weeks (1968), a critically acclaimed masterpiece by this Northern Irish blues singer. But Blowin' Your Mind really is a masterpiece in its own right, containing truly epic tracks such as the megahit Brown Eyed Girl, the somewhat funky Goodbye Baby (Baby Goodbye) and Midnight Special, a traditional with a contemporary groove and infectious bass line.

T.B. Sheets, one of the most real songs about death you'll ever hear, is a 10-minute organ packed blues jam about a dying girlfriend and one of the sweatiest and claustrophobic tunes to come out of the sixties. The latter song has been used to good effect as the sole soundtrack song to the highly recommended Nicholas Cage & Patricia Arquette movie Bringing Out The Dead (1999), and was also covered by John Lee Hooker.

    Further Out

    Colored Vinyl

Produced/Engineered/Mixed/Mastered Completely Analog By Matt Talbot (Hum)

Further Out, the anticipated debut full length from the reclusive Indiana trio
Cloakroom, can be defined best as an exploratory sonic mission. From the album's
opener, "Paperweight," the crushing force of a wall of distorted bass and pounding
drumming collapses to uncover the airy, reverb-soaked vocals of guitarist Doyle Martin,
who's carrying a sullen burden that seems just as weighed down. From the headbanging
heaviness of "Moon Funeral" to the ethereal moments of songs like "Starchild Skull"
and Mesmer," Cloakroom's output is the end result of researching seemingly dissimilar
elements like atmospheric post-rock, punishingly slow stoner metal, and cathartic emo
and how their best qualities can work into a final, organic sound, masterfully navigated
by the expert and completely analog production of Matt Talbot. Further Out boasts the
timelessness of a classic record: it is expansive and exploratory while still reflective and
referential to the astral tendencies of predecessors like Hum and Jesu.

This is the eponymous debut studio album by the American Rock band the Modern Lovers, originally released in 1976. Six tracks (Roadrunner, Astral Plane, Old World, Pablo Picasso, She Cracked and Someone I Care About) were produced by John Cale.

The Modern Lovers were formed in 1970 by teenage singer, songwriter, guitarist Jonathan Richman, augmented with Jerry Harrison (keyboards), Ernie Brooks (bass) and David Robinson (drums), with Richman's friend and original band member John Felice joining them occasionally.

The Modern Lovers influenced numerous aspiring punk rock musicians on both sides of the Atlantic, including the Sex Pistols, whose early cover of Roadrunner was placed on The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle. The album was included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. In 2003, the album was listed on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

One month after releasing their fourth studio album, Celestial Lineage, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM recorded two live tracks at the BBC's Maida Vale studios. Southern Lord offers these sessions as a special vinyl release. It seems only fitting that Olympia's earthen black metal expanders, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, would add their name to the roster of acts who have recorded at the Maida Vale studios, the place where the sounds of contemporary and outstanding artists throughout the last century of popular music have been documented for the ages.

WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM's shadow, cast long and eerie from their campfire of the arcane, eclipses the hordes of black metal clones and drones, hewing raw nuggets of inspired music from rich seams of extreme metal and astral vibrations. "Prayer of Transformation" and "Thuja Magus Imperium" are the two tracks recorded on that day, taken from their lauded album Celestial Vintage and spanning two sides of vinyl and twenty minutes. Entitled BBC Session 2011 Anno Domini, this session is testament to the band's ability to inspire awe with homespun strands of metaphysical ambiance and painstakingly flexed sinews of metal, and is a must for all fans of the band as well as followers of contemporary metal.

Comprised of longtime friends Marcus Pepperell (vocals, guitar, keys)
and John Hamson Jr. (drums, vocals, bass), THUMPERS make colorful,
exuberant alt-pop that celebrates their innate musical kinship and draws
upon their shared childhood memories. The London-based band combine
layered androgynous vocals with muscular drums, astral synths and
shimmering guitars in a celebration of the breathless sensations of youth
    and coming of age.

Friends since the age of 11 and playing in bands together since their
teens, the two reignited their musical bond again in early 2011. Initially
exchanging ideas over long distance correspondence, they used breaks
from travel and other projects for intensive, marathon recording sessions.
Retreating to the familiar surroundings of their hometown, they worked
intuitively and resourcefully in utilizing every means at their disposal
(with siblings occasionally joining in on the recording process) with the
sole objective of producing great recordings touched by a transcendental
jubilance and vague air of the otherworldly.

Live, THUMPERS are augmented by an interchanging cast of friends
and musicians in faithfully bringing their immersive dynamics and grand
scale sonic vision to the stage.

Galore is the debut album by THUMPERS. The record was produced

Herein bumps and soars Lese Majesty, the new sonic action of Shabazz
Palaces. Honed and primal, chromed and primo. A unique and glorified
offering into our ever-uniforming musical soundscape. Lese Majesty is
a beatific war cry, born of a spell, acknowledging that sophistication and
the instinctual are not at odds; Indeed an undoing of the lie of their
    disparate natures.

Lese Majesty is not a launching pad for the group's fan base increasing
propaganda. It is a series of astral suites, recorded happenings, shared.
A dare to dive deep into Shabazz Palaces sounds, vibrations unfettered.
A dope-hex thrown from the compartments that have artificially contained
us all and hindered our sublime collusion.

These reveries were sent to Palaceer Lazaro and Fly Guy 'Dai in the
year of gun beat battles in excess; In a succession of days, whilst walking
in dreams and in varied transcendental states .(every minute of every
day is filled with observation and composition. In action). Songs are
committed and gathered by robots at Protect and Exalt Labs, a Black
    Space in Seattle,Washington.

The visual features of Lese Majesty are resultant of the gleanings of
    fellow Constellationaire, Nep Sidhu.

The wait is over! Teenage Fanclub have returned with Here, the band's first album in six years.

As ever, song-wise the Fanclub present a textbook representation of democracy in action, the record offering four each by Norman Blake, Gerard Love, and Raymond McGinley. From the almighty chime of opener "I'm In Love" through the ecstatic soul-search of "The First Sight" and the paean to unerring friendship "With You," Here is a collection of twelve songs about the only things that truly matter: life and
    love.

As is befitting of a record that took its time to arrive, Here uses reflective space to dazzling effect. "Steady State," with its gorgeous ebb and flow, has echoes of The Notorious Byrd Brothers' astral jangle, while "I Was Beautiful When I Was Alive" unexpectedly curves off from dreamlike beginnings into a semi-acoustic/motorik outro, sonically replacing the steady beat of the German autobahn with the vast open skies of the Pacific Coast Highway.

Not for one second is Here the sound of procrastination or headscratching. It's the effortless work of a band entirely confident in their own craft-the consolidation of nearly three decades of peerless songwriting and almost telepathic musicianship. Here is a record that embraces maturity and experience and hugs them close.

    Excavation

Tri Angle Records is very excited to release The Haxan Cloak's eagerly-awaited second album, Excavation. In 2011 with the release of his debut, self titled album, The Haxan Cloak, solo project of multi instrumentalist, Bobby Krlic, appeared seemingly out of nowhere with an impressively fully formed sound that blew away most anyone who heard it. Recorded over the space of 3 years, The Haxan Cloak was a wildly ambitious fusion of malevolent strings, junkyard found-sounds and primitive percussion, Krlic's grand ambitions transcending the fact that it was all recorded in a shed at the bottom of Krlic's parent's home in Wakefield, Yorkshire. In the two years since the release of his debut, Krlic relocated to London and began working on it's epic follow up, and Tri Angle Records debut; Excavation.

Bolstered by the concept he was developing for his follow up and a desire to challenge himself into new terrains, Krlic has evolved his sound to incorporate more of his electronic influences. The result is an album awash with serrated beats and cavernous sub-bass, meshing with the classical drones and ghostly details The Haxan Cloak fans will have already been accustomed to. Excavation finds Krlic confidently adopting a more minimalist approach to his compositions, experimenting with space and silence without forsaking any of the intensity that made his debut such a powerful statement of intent.

If The Haxan Cloak was conceived as the soundtrack to a character's journey towards death, Excavation is its sequel representing the journey after death. Excavation is about disconnecting entirely from this and entering upon a more astral plane, explaining some of the albums more ethereal, ambient moments that are in constant tension with jagged and aggressive elements. This journey isn't supposed to represent an archetypal Heaven or Hell scenario, but something more abstract and unknowable; the abstraction of the situation being one of its most unsettling aspects. Excavation is another uncompromising, incredibly personal record from an artist who is continuing to operate very much within his own world.

    Into

Lionel Williams leaves behind the murkier lo-fi production of his 2012 debut full-length, Lemniscate, for the somnambulant pop of Into. The new album-out July 24th on Chaz Bundick's (Toro Y Moi, Les Sins) Company Records-moves Lionel's Vinyl Williams alias into a more vivid, multi-colored dream world. Unlike the dramatic film scores of his grandfather (famed composer and conductor John Williams), this 25-year-old Los Angeles-based musician's songs are far more introspective, effortlessly blending ambient, electronic, Krautrock, psychedelia and shoegaze influences into a uniquely visceral listening experience that often mirrors the surrealism of his own collage-based visual artwork.

Like staring at the intricate geometry of a nautilus shell through a rippling aqua lens, Into's detailed arrangements shimmer across the stereo field with Williams' breathy, yearning melodies bathed in warm reverb. The gentle, rhythmic percolation of breezy album opener "Gold Lodge" imagines CAN at their most ethereal, as if vying for a release on 4AD Records during the label's halcyon days. Similarly, Cocteau Twins-esque guitars ring above the pulsing kosmische atmosphere of "Hall of Records" and then later, the 10-plus-minute "Xol Rumi" takes a detour across the Autobahn using Neu!'s motorik precision. Elsewhere, the celestial "Greatest Lives" shuffles through a thick, gooey cloud of synths, while instrumental "The Tears of an Inanimate Object" pays tribute to the spiritually minded explorations of Alice Coltrane and Dorothy Ashby, with astral harp strums guiding the light electronic accompaniment.

From the mysterious, nocturnal drive of first single "World Soul" to the gauzy, space-age funk of "Allaz," Vinyl Williams nicely blurs the line between melodicism and experimentation, his impressionistic song-craft being as inviting as it is beguiling. In this modern era of shuffled playlists and musically short attention spans, Into is that rare album created to be listened to uninterrupted from beginning to end, and one that is sure to reveal itself again and again after each successive play.

    A Different Arrangement

"A study in aching, moaning, human emotions set against robotic rhythms... there's a sense of decay present in every note."- About.com

"[Their] darksider organ drone and Goth vocals charm rather than wear."- Capital NY

"A promising Hardly Art debut."- Seattle Weekly

Black Marble's Weight Against the Door was an auspicious, attention-grabbing debut that made the Brooklyn duo the go-to opening act for today's darkwave greats (Light Asylum, TRUST, the Soft Moon). Now, less than ten months later, bedroom producers Chris Stewart and Ty Kube follow that gritty, surgically-precise EP with A
Different Arrangement, a new full-length that is, as its title suggests, a departure from Weight's calculated
    coldwave formalism.

A Different Arrangement surveys a wide variety of sounds, from the radiant, bouncing ebullience of "A Great Design" to the haunted playground-bop of "Limitations" (which juxtaposes sampled rim-drum clacks with layers of sentimental synth melodies and Stewart's resonant, reverb-smeared baritone). The warm, Peter Hook-inspired basslines shapeshift across Arrangement's runtime, and vintage synthesizer arrangements by Kube (formerly of electropop outfit Team Robespierre) are likewise versatile-airy ("MSQ No Extra"), astral ("UK"), and at times so distinctly manipulated and sculpted as to be otherworldly ("Last").

The influence of early synth pioneers like Thomas Leer and Robert Rental is felt across A Different Arrangement's eleven tracks, as are the fingerprints of the record's hard-line do-it-yourself architects.

"All the music we gravitate towards has that quality where you can imagine the space it was created in and the people who made it. Not this handed-down-from-on-high sensibility. A certain handmade feeling is what we're after," Stewart explains. "The music doesn't have to be complex, but it's important to carry some residue of the
process, especially when working with what [can sometimes] be construed as cold-sounding electronics. It's humanizing."

If Weight Against the Door constituted a long, cold night, then A Different Arrangement heralds the moment when the radiator finally sputters to life, flooding the room with heat as the sun rises over a horizon of Brutalist tower blocks. The homemade soundtrack to a still, uncertain dawn, A Different Arrangement is a striking evolution in Black Marble's sound.

    A Constant Moth

LP Is Packaged In 2-Panel Art Sleeve On High Quality Paper

Welcome to the world of Lord RAJA, a strange, sometimes perilous
alternate dimension withbeauty and decay in equal measure. It's a
world built on the beat-centric music which flows through New York
native Chester Raj Anand's stream of consciousness; here, half-remembered hip-hop classics are spliced into '90s IDM, ambient,
footwork, and experimental sound design. Our latest dispatch from
Lord RAJA's uncanny realm is the impulsive and unpredictable A
Constant Moth LP, 12 hyper-detailed scenes ripped from the surreal
mayhem at play in the mind of this talented young producer.

After releasing his lush Rubies EP with Ghostly in the spring of 2013,
Lord RAJA has travelled further down the wormhole opened by J Dilla,
Dabrye, and Aphex Twin, seeking a place to call his own. His debut
album, A Constant Moth, is that cosmic destination, and has been
carved out and personalized with a strong sense of texture, rhythm,
and spaciousness. Productions like Skyre and Pistol Refix put forth
heavily smashing beats as the foundation of Lord RAJA's palace, while
opulent dancefloor heaters Throw Them Out (System) and De Lia Lu
Lu build glittering pillars from juke experiments and low-res
electroisms, respectively. Warp affiliate Jeremiah Jae graces the
atonal thump of Van Go like a knight paying his respects in RAJA's
court, and beatless synth composition Gottfried Semper billows in
the astral landscape's warm breeze. As far as we can discern, A
Constant Moth is the most eclectic and fully realized depiction of Lord
    RAJA's far-o! galaxy to date.

But these 12 tracks are indeed just a glimpse into the sheer scope of
the East Coast artist's musical vision, as A Constant Moth boasts a
brisk 35-minute runtime that'll leave you itching to jump into its
dizzying barrage again. From the opening moments of Yelleo E-
with its jittery rhythmic workout and whirlpool atmospheres-to the
warbling radio transmissions which close out Golden Gravity Birds,
Lord RAJA's debut LP delivers an intricate portrait of a burgeoning
new producer. A Constant Moth is one of those rare records that
sounds precociously self-assured while also hinting at a vast sonic
universe that he's only begun to explore.
