Get To The River Before It Runs Too Low (Awaiting Repress)Sea Wolf is the vehicle for Alex Churchs songs, who is not only the singer and songwriter, but also the bands only invariable member. Born in the small gold rush town of Columbia, California, Churchs musical memories were shaped by ad hoc bluegrass outfits playing for tourists on sidewalks of his hometown coupled with the Beatles and Willie Nelson records on his moms turntable. His 2007 five song EP Get To The River Before It Runs Too Low is now on vinyl for the first time courtesy of Dangerbird Records.1. You're A Wolf

Bobby Rush - Upstairs At United, Vol 11On February 4th, 2014, 73 year old Grammy nominated blues and R&B legend Bobby Rush added a generous helping of all analog, direct to tape, soul to Upstairs at United series. The set opens with a blistering take on the Beatles ''Come Together'' where most of the vocal is ''sung'' by the harmonica, followed by a sultry take on Otis Redding's ''Hard To Handle.'' Side two starts with a newly penned gem ''Why Do They Act Like That'' and finishes with Floyd-ish take on a Bobby Rush classic, ''2 Eyes Full of Tears.'' As traditional to the series, these recordings were done live to tape above the mechanical hum of the record presses at United Record Pressing then cut as a 45 RPM 12'' EP for the optimum listening experience.1. The band themselves describe their music like this: It reminds of Vangelis meeting Tom Petty, trying to reach U2, willing to be Joy Division, feeling like ABBA, longing to be Brian Eno, remembering Jean Michel Jarre, looking at Metallica, sleeping with Mike Oldfield, dancing to Koto, hunting the Beatles, killing Morricone in a duel, snorting to Moroder etc1. Lost Recordings And Beat Rarities7 Vinyl Box Set w/ 20 Lost Tracks & Hard-To-Find Gems!
This highly resonant set acts as a guidebook to many of the missing links behind the one British beat group who, more than any other, stayed neck-and-neck with the Beatles throughout the 60s. In terms of quality single releases with irresistible chart appeal (15 Top Ten 45s in the U.K.) and pure musical evolution, there is no doubt the Hollies breathed the same rarefied air as the Fab Four.
The Hollies Lost Recordings and Beat Rarities collects 20 long-buried tracks and hard-to-find gems, ranging from rare U.S. and British singles to EP rarities and unissued songs, all perfectly ripe for release as an original Hollies 45, whether that happened or not. Follow the group from their first single (released in May of 1963), the savage Aint That Just Like Me b/w Hey Whats Wrong With Me, through their discotheque dance floor raves: Come On Back, What Kind of Love and She Said Yeah. Swoon to their swingin ballad Yes I Will, groove with their jazzy Honey and Wine and float to outer space with All The World is Love. Discover an impossible-to-find, spy-style double-sider the Hollies did for a 1967 Italian movie, and groove to unreleased tracks cut while on tour in New York City in 1965, then marvel at an extremely scarce cover of the Beatles If I Needed Someone, tracked at Abbey Road, revered recording home to both groups.
Sundazed has collected a pirates ransom of tracks here, nearly all unavailable on any original English or American Hollies album. Delivered now via the supremely cool format of 45RPM vinyl, each single is loaded with guaranteed disk jockey dance-floor magic that only further cements the Hollies reputation as the coolest Manchester band, ever!Single 1

Maps Of Non-Existent PlacesClaudio Sanchez has officially launched his record label Evil Ink Records and his first signing is New Jersey's young experimental progressive rock septet
Thank You Scientist. The newly formed label, distributed by INgrooves, will be releasing a fully remixed and remastered version of the band's 2012 debut
full-length record, Maps of Non-Existent Places, in time for their run with Coheed and Cambria's "Neverender:IKSSE3 Tour."
Claudio Sanchez knows a little bit about progressive music. His career has spanned 12 years and 7 albums, likely encompassing the longest concept
album arc in the history of rock and roll. Now, in effort to further support and promote his beloved complex genre, he has launched a label dedicated to
sharing a wealth of future talent with the first signing being the extremely talented seven-piece band Thank You Scientist.
For the uninitiated, Thank You Scientist was forged from the music program at Montclair State University in New Jersey when guitarist Tom Monda met
saxophonist Ellis Jasenovic and trumpeter Andrew Digrius. The three bonded over their love for Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, The Beatles and
Harry Nilsson. Those influences would become the seeds for what Thank You Scientist would evolve into today.
With the addition of vocalist Salvatore Marrano, bassist Greg Colacino, drummer Odin Alvarez and violinist Ben Karas, Thank You Scientist's lineup of
virtuoso musicians was complete. The band would go on to self-release an EP, The Perils of Time Travel, in 2011 followed by their debut full-length, Maps
of Non-Existent Places, in 2012, which caught the ear of Sanchez, a fellow purveyor of progressive stylings, and led to his signing of the band.
To pinpoint Thank You Scientist's sound would be inconceivable. On Maps of Non-Existent Places they hold a virtual master class on musicianship,
fusing elements of progressive rock with jazz fusion, classical, metal, psychedelic and pop for a head spinning, mind-blowing listening experience. The
seven-piece band, who collectively play some 20 instruments, boasts a hyper-composed sound which is indebted to their experience and formal training
in both classical and jazz idioms.
A Frank Zappa for the indie generation? Incubus jamming with the Mahavishnu Orchestra? Mr. Bungle and Steely Dan joining forces to fight Godzilla?
King Crimson and the Brecker Brothers serenading you at your bedside? It all seems so strange on paper, yet it's sure to satisfy your ears in the best of

Fences is something new for our band Bombadil. It is more than just an album; it is a new path, a reset after several challenging years. The path began in January 2015, when a longtime member of Bombadil unexpectedly left our band. Daniel Michalak and I sat down to discuss our next steps. It was a time for soul searching. A duo of a bassist and drummer did not feel like a band. Moving forward seemed daunting, but we both felt like there was more to say with the band. We wanted to make music. So we began simply by making some. Writing and recording the Still Bombadil EP was fun. A fast and dirty exploration of a creative idea, no room for fiddling, deadline looming. Our last album, Hold On, had not been like that. It had been an ordeal.
Daniel suggested composing songs using guitar instrumentals our old bandmate Bryan Rahija had written, and of limiting ourselves to a small palette for the next album: guitar, piano, upright bass, harmony vocals. The goal was to make a folk record, something easy to understand, something beautiful. He shared a demo for "Binoculars" and I loved it. It was simple, elegant. We added it to the live set almost immediately. Daniel continued writing, focusing on guitar, harmony, and emotion. The songs inconveniently had no drums (what was I going to play?!). He instead wrote parts for me to sing and we began collaborating on composing tunes with a similar approach. "Fence" was written together at a friends house in Crozet, Virginia to kill time on tour. An old song of mine, "Long Life," was revived and extended. Percussion parts started to show up. Daniel's commitment to songwriting continued to inspire, a new demo was in my inbox almost weekly. Daniel enlisted the help of an old friend and data scientist, Nasir Bhanpuri, to analyze the success of our old catalog of songs and make suggestions to guide our writing and arranging. It was an experiment that pushed us to take the songs further than we might have in the past. In part, we were throwing ideas at the wall to see what would stick, but we were also searching for something new, actively trying to push ourselves to new creative heights.
We kept the Bombadil ship moving by accepting all shows, searching for more opportunities to play. We found wonderful people to tour in our band. There were good shows. There were bad ones, too. I learned to be a lead singer on the fly and on stage (with the help of an encouraging septuagenarian opera singer). And we kept writing, practicing, and recording. In July 2015, Stacy Harden sent me an email inquiring if we needed a musician. In his audition, he played through songs like he had been in the band all along. He even knew the harmonies. He had grown up a fan of the band, singing along in the car. In October, Stacy and I drove our equipment across the country for a West Coast tour in a four-day sprint and listened to every song the Beatles recorded. His easy-going spirit was infectious, his presence made the band more fun and more inspiring. We had found our man. "What's So Great About You" was the first collaboration between this new trio, and we started to discover what a new version of our band sounded like.
In January 2016, the three of us left North Carolina for Littleton, Massachusetts to spend several weeks at a friend's farmhouse. We recorded all day long, cooked together, spent our breaks around a roaring wood stove carefully tended to by Daniel. The resulting demo recordings gave us a roadmap to follow. Our label, Ramseur Records, suggested a producer, a departure after self-recording our last three records. John Vanderslice was given the demos and was enthusiastic about the material. He insisted that we listen closely to Paul Simon's first record. He told us the songs needed a sense of danger, that our demos felt like we were being too careful, and that the songs needed more percussion. John is opinionated, talented, and inspirational. And most of all, making the record with him over 12 days in September 2016 at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco was easy. And fun. And fast. We used only analog equipment, recording to tape through high-end vintage equipment. Bryan came to play his guitar parts (which by this point Stacy had learned for live performances of the material). The recordings were all first takes, new ideas were quickly embraced, mistakes were left alone as intention, very little artificial reverb was used but John's concrete echo chamber was used extensively. We hoped to catch lightning in a bottle and I think that we did.
To me, Fences represents the journey of the last two years. It is the discovery of a group voice, the willingness to explore collaboration between old friends, and an openness to let new voices into the fold. It is something I am proud to have been a part of and am excited to share with the world. To me, it is an example of the power and positivity of collaboration, of a group of human beings working diligently on a shared vision. If nothing else, I can say that we tried as hard as we possibly could. I can't wait to do it again.
Thank you for listening,

Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path (Awaiting Repress)6LP Picture Disc Box Set
Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling and legendary rock band Soundgarden, have announced the vinyl release of their highly acclaimed rarities collection, Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path. Hard on the heels of the 20th anniversary deluxe re-release of their chart-topping, five-times-platinum 1994 album, Superunknown early last year, the new vinyl package, first released as a 3-CD collection and as a 14-track single CD last November, will feature the three album thematic collection on six LPs with three separate jackets, each sporting its own unique art and housed in a slipcase wrapped in foil paper designed by Josh Graham.
The collection was curated and hand-selected by guitarist Kim Thayil. Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across The Path is the first time an official Soundgarden release has included more than 26 years of rarities that have appeared as B-sides, album bonus tracks, EPs, soundtracks, compilations and live recordings, a must for any fan of the band.
LP 1 & 2, dubbed "ORIGINALS," is filled with Soundgarden-written songs, mainly B-sides along with some soundtrack and compilation selections in addition to two unreleased songs on vinyl which go back as far as "Sub Pop Rock City," originally included as part of the 1988 compilation, Sub Pop 200. The two unreleased tracks on this disc are "Kristi," a 1996 outtake from the Down on the Upside sessions which is reportedly drummer Matt Cameron's favorite Soundgarden song, and "Storm," a brand-new track recorded in early 2014.
LP 3 & 4, "COVERS," offers a stellar showcase of songs from bands who Soundgarden love and admire, from classic rockers The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix and Sly and the Family Stone to punk pioneers The Stooges, the Ramones, Fear and DEVO. Showing their sense of humor, Soundgarden also cover songs by Spinal Tap and Cheech & Chong. The two unreleased tracks include the Beatles' "Everybody's Got Something to Hide " and the Sly Stone track "Thank You ", both of which were originally recorded for a BBC Radio 1 John Peel session in 1989.
LP 5 & 6, "ODDITIES," offers a wide-ranging combination of instrumentals, remixes and demos. The unreleased tracks on vinyl include "Twin Tower," penned by Matt Cameron, which was originally recorded at Seattle's London Bridge studio in December 1988 during the sessions for Louder Than Love. "Night Surf" is an instrumental performed by bassist Ben Shepherd which the band used to open their 1994 tour in conjunction with an introductory film which screened before they took the stage. Steve Fisk's new remix of "The Telephantasm (Resurrection Remix)," a song originally released for 2011 Record Store Day, has also never been available on vinyl before.LP 1 - ORIGINALS

Easy Star's ThrillahFollowing up on the hugely successful reggae tribute albums of Dub Side of the Moon (2003), Radiodread (2006) and Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band (2009) comes the reggae adaptation of the greatest selling record of all time - Michael Jackson's Thriller. The album, titled Easy Star's Thrillah will be released August 28, 2012 (a day before the 53rd anniversary of Jackson's birth). Easy Star's Thrillah brings back several of the reggae stars from previous albums, such as vocalists Michael Rose (Black Uhuru), Steel Pulse, Luciano, Mojo Morgan (Morgan Heritage), alongside the diverse playing of guests Yossi Fine (David Bowie, Lou Reed, Stanley Jordan), Joe Tomino (Dub Trio/Matisyahu), Andy Farag (Umphrey's McGee), and horn tracks courtesy of Israel's highly-acclaimed funk/hip-hop band Hadag Nachash. The album will be preceded by the July 10th digital release of the Billie Jean EP, which includes two album tracks, along with non-album remixes and a dub version.
In selecting Thriller, Easy Star Records co-founder Lem Oppenheimer says, We've always tackled the greats - The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Radiohead - but while we wanted to take on another huge album, we also wanted to blaze new trails. In Thriller we found those new trails in a number of firsts for the series: the first album by an American artist, the first non-concept album, the first R&B/soul record, as well as the first release from the 80s.
For me, I was most excited for Thriller, says producer/arranger/guitarist Michael Goldwasser. I was always more of an R&B/soul and reggae kid growing up and I have an intense personal connection to Michael Jackson's music. As usual, the process initially involved Goldwasser spending a few months on arranging the songs. Writing the arrangements for this album was a cool challenge. I didn't have to try to make non-dance music into dance music as on our previous albums because the original Thriller is so danceable already, but I needed to find ways to make each song groove in a different way from the original version. I didn't want any of the arrangements to be obvious in that regard. In the end, Goldwasser's arrangements are some of the most interesting in his career.
Now that the hard work in the studio is done, the band is looking forward to bringing this music on the road, adding some dance/pop songs to their already varied sets. The band's live show, which was nominated for a UK Festy Award in 2009, already features tracks from the band's previous three tribute albums, along with original material. An extensive fall tour of the US and UK is already set up (US dates listed below), with more to come over the next year. As the original Thriller album comes up on its 30-year anniversary in November, what better way to celebrate this timeless album than to catch the Easy Star All-Stars perform their reggae-infused versions of this pop masterpiece.1.
