BlackDierks Bentley has announced the details for his upcoming eighth studio album, Black. The follow-up to his acclaimed Riser is slated to drop in 2016.
The new album reunites the core creative team from Riser, including producer Ross Copperman and executive producer Arturo Buenahora, Jr. Riser set a new high-water mark for Bentley, earning him Grammy, CMA and ACM nominations and putting him in the headlining slot in arenas across the country. Black sees Bentley continuing to push himself creatively, expanding his sonic palette to include influences that "flourish on the edge of arena rock," according to a press release.
Black is a very personal album, taking its title from Bentley's wife Cassidy's maiden name, but it's intended to tell a universal story of "breakups, hookups, mess-ups and everything in between, shining a light on the things that happen after the sun goes down."
"It's a relationship album that covers the ups and downs of the journey and ends with some self-realization and evolvement," Bentley states. "The song 'Black' helps set all of that in motion at the top of the album by guiding you into the darkness and the shadows of the night. The same guy who sings 'Somewhere On a Beach' winds up growing and having enough perspective to sing something introspective like 'Different for Girls.' By the last song, he's taking a look back on love and life."
Black features more input from the female perspective than any previous Bentley album, including appearances from Maren Morris, Elle King, Natalie Hemby, Hillary Lindsey and Jessi Alexander.
"Having a female perspective on this record really made the album more than just music," Bentley says. "It makes it a conversation between a guy and a girl. Sometimes it's harmonious and sometimes it's two people clashing, but it's always there."
The album also features a guest shot from Trombone Shorty. Black is set for release on Capitol Records Nashville.

Dierks Bentley will release his highly anticipated ninth studio album, THE MOUNTAIN via Capitol Records Nashville. Reaching a new creative high, Bentley co-wrote 10 of the 13 new tracks that are unified by themes of presence and positivity, and range in style from textured rock to acoustic folk, feeling both rooted and expansive at the same time.
THE MOUNTAIN's story begins in the Rocky Mountain resort town of Telluride, Colorado, which every summer plays host to a celebrated bluegrass festival. Owing to his well-documented love of the genre, Bentley has attended the festival multiple times over the years, always making a point to slow down and tune back into the world around him. But after performing on the festival's main stage in 2017, the idyllic surroundings became more than a much-needed getaway.
"I found myself there, constantly reaching for my guitar," Bentley said. "It was like a gravitational pull. That town and those people just make you want to be creative, I couldn't describe it. I was like 'How do I tell everyone in Nashville this is what I want to write about?' I realized I couldn't bring it back, so I had to take everyone out there."
Returning that August with six of his most trusted songwriting collaborators, Bentley and his fellow 'Telluwriters' all bunked up in a small house, explored the area and dug deep into the peaceful, reflective vibes he was feeling. They had five days to work with and were hoping to write eight songs but ended up with nearly twice that number, forming the core of the record. Bentley returned to Telluride with his production team Ross Copperman, Jon Randall Stewart and Arturo Buenahora Jr to a tucked-away hideout called Studio in the Clouds last November to record. Perched high on a mesa, its tracking room overlooking the endless Rocky Mountain landscape, THE MOUNTAIN rose up in earnest.
"For me it's the best of both worlds, and it feels like something new. It's powerful but also happy, with acoustic sensibility mixed in with the big sounds I like to have for the road," Bentley added. Un-United KingdomThe latest 4-song ep from PITCHSHIFTER! The title track Un-united Kingdom pokes fun at the good old United Kingdom, set to a backdrop of spastic break-beats and aggressive guitars and scathing vocals. In fact, its such a catchy tune that it appears twice on the ep ? once in its original form and again as a remix by Fuzz Townshend (Pop Will Eat Itself, Bentley Rythmn Ace).
Pitchshifter (from Nottingham, U.K.) began in the early '90s industrial underground as aggressive social commentators, hearkening back to the early days of British punk and American hardcore (a la the Minutemen and Dead Kennedys). The band signed to Earache in 1992, and their first two releases (the mini-album Submit (1992) and the full-length Desensitized (1993) ) established them as mainstays in the scene. In 1996 they released their Infotainment ep, also on Earache. These albums simultaneously found their way across the Atlantic, capturing the attention of American listeners.
In 1996, Pitchshifter morphed away from their industrial roots, showing a growing interest in technology and computers. Yet the stronger integration of electronics comes without sacrificing either their signature aggressive sound or an upfront political message.
The UnUnited Kingdom ep sees the band still broadening their musical horizons. These tracks (including a Big Black cover) will appeal to fans of crossover break-beat/metal/techno/hardcore.1. Un-United Kingdom

Never Give InNever Give In is the ninth studio album from Will Hoge.
"I'm so excited about this new album. I can't wait to get out on the road and play these new songs for folks," shares Will Hoge. "There's gonna be a lot of different things happening live on this tour and I'm thrilled for everyone to get to see it. Couple all these incredible cities with such great support acts as Red Wanting Blue and Sunny Sweeney, it is going to be one fun tour!"
NEVER GIVE IN is a life motto for the Nashville native who catapulted into the national spotlight in 2012. Spending the early part of the year supporting Dierks Bentley's arena headlining tour, Hoge was introduced to his first dose of mainstream country. The release of the Eli Young Band Platinum smash "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," which he co-wrote with Eric Paslay, garnered an enormous amount of buzz at Country radio, earning Hoge nominations for the 2013 GRAMMY Country Song of the Year, 2013 ACM Song of the Year and 2012 CMA Song of the Year. While raising Hoge's profile as a hit songwriter, the song also introduced his music and records to the Country music audience; a decade removed from major label release on Atlantic Records, CAROUSEL. Currently, his song "Strong" is featured as the musical backdrop for General Motor's 2014 Chevy Silverado nationwide ad campaign.1. Different Man

Legend RemixedFor the first time, Bob Marley and the Wailers' iconic 1984 album, Legend, is re-imagined for Legend Remixed, an inspired new spin on the reggae classic to celebrate the summer. Legend's 16 tracks have been remixed by top DJs/producers. Included in this the cohesive new set are tracks by ten time Grammy winner Stephen Marley, Pretty Lights, Thievery Corporation, Jason Bentley, Z-Trip with Lee Scratch Perry, Photek, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, Roni Size, RAC, Beats Antique, Nickodemus & Zeb, as well as a new rendition remix of Redemption Song by five-time Grammy Award winning reggae artist, Ziggy Marley.
The fourth track on the album, Three Little Birds, was remixed by Stephen Marley and DJ/producer Jason Bentley. This iconic Marley track serves as the worry-free anthem for Hyundai's new Assurance Connected Care program, a new suite of features that allows drivers to feel safe and secure and enjoy a stress-free ownership experience. Prior to its television debut, Three Little Birds made its television debut on May 14 with free downloads available to the first 15,000 fans through Hyundai's Facebook and YouTube channels and is also available for sale through all digital retailers.
Hyundai also supported the creation of the Making of Legend Remixed documentary, a short film about the creation of the new album including interviews with the Marley family and the musicians and remixers involved.
Bob Marley and The Wailers' Legend is the world's best-selling reggae album with global sales exceeding 40 million copies, including more than 14 million in the U.S. alone. When Was The Last Time, the long-awaited fifth studio country album on Capitol Records Nashville, has been set for release.
Earlier this week, Rucker spoke with Billboard about teaming up with esteemed Nashville producer Ross Copperman (Dierks Bentley, Brett Eldredge, Keith Urban) to bring his vision for the album to life.
"On top of being a genius with the equipment, Ross is so high-energy and funny; that kid is never not laughing." He added, "Every time we were in the studio we had a great band who had great ideas of their own, so it was the farthest thing from tedious, but just, let's get in and do it. I think for the whole record we spent just three days tracking music."

A Journey Too Far
180 Gram Vinyl Includes 12" + 7"
"A Journey Too Far" sees Nostalgia 77 - the London based producer, guitarist, songwriter and bandleader further developing his
creative partnership with German singer Josa Peit.
Nostalgia 77 main man Benedic Lamdin is hugely in demand as a producer and engineer, with work for a diverse array of artists as well as his own studio
albums and side-projects (the most recent of which, Nostalgia 77 and the Monster, led to heavy BBC 6Music play and a live session for Cerys Matthews).
His latest A-list assignment has been with Jamie Cullum, a relationship that has evolved from the latter's admiration and support for Nostalgia 77 on his
BBC Radio 2 show.
Lead single"An Angel With No Halo" finds Lamdin melding inspirations from the English folk and psychedelic scene to the '60s orchestral pop of
Gainsbourg and Axelrod. Building on the strides he made as a songwriter on his 2011 album 'The Sleepwalking Society', this single blends a poetic,
highly visual lyricism with his much lauded skills and instincts as a composer.
Nostalgia 77's last studio album introduced him to a wider audience than ever, by dint of refreshing blues, folk and psychedelic influences and the
decision to complete his band with the charismatic Josa Peit - the perfect interpreter of his songs - where he had previously featured various guests.
Media support abounded, with radio play including Jason Bentley, Jeremy Sole, Garth Trinidad, Gilles Peterson, The Selector, Gideon Coe, and Don
Letts; national radio playlisting in the US, France and elsewhere, and major features including The Telegraph and Wax Poetics.
Aside from her work with the Nostalgia 77 band, Josa Peit is a rising star of the German music scene, with increasing international recognition. She has
recently been collaborating with renowned German beatmaker Dexter, and has also just seen the release of her first self-produced track Waste on the

Already a world-renowned songwriter, Stapleton has enjoyed five #1 hits including the five-week No. 1 "Never Wanted Nothing More" recorded by Kenny Chesney, George Strait's "Love's Gonna Make it Alright" and Luke Bryan's "Drink A Beer," which Stapleton recently performed with Lady Antebellum at the recent CMT "Artists of the Year" show (watch the performance here).
Recorded at Nashville's historic RCA Studio A (with additional production at The Castle and Blackbird Studio), Traveller was produced by Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell) and recorded by Vance Powell (Jack White). In addition to renditions of Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove's "Tennessee Whiskey" and Don Sampson's "Was It 26," the album features twelve original songs, including fan-favorite "Sometimes I Cry." Last night, during a special album reveal party, Stapleton returned to RCA Studio A to record a new version of "Sometimes I Cry" live-to-tape in front of an audience-allowing a unique, once-in-a-lifetime glimpse inside the making of the album. The track is currently being mastered and will be added to the final track-listing very shortly.
Of his inspiration behind the record, Stapleton comments, "This record was made standing on the shoulders of friends, family, and heroes. I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I've enjoyed making it."
Over the course of his acclaimed career, Stapleton has penned over 170 album cuts, including songs recorded by Adele, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley, and has such notable co-writers as Vince Gill, Peter Frampton and Sheryl Crow among others. Additionally, Stapleton has shared the stage with such respected artists as Gill, Alison Krauss, Marty Stuart, Emmylou Harris and more. Restoration: The Songs Of Elton John And Bernie Taupin
Some of the world's biggest pop, rock and country artists are celebrating Elton John's most beloved and legendary catalog of hits with two albums Revamp (Island Records) and Restoration (Mercury Nashville). The superstar lineup features artists both new and iconic reinterpreting the timeless songs of the over 50 year writing partnership that Elton and Bernie Taupin share. These renditions and artists show the depth of the catalog these two icons have created, which can easily cross musical genres and their unparalleled influence across popular music of all styles.
Revamp features the hits reimagined by the best in pop, rock and urban with Mary J. Blige, Alessia Cara, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Florence And The Machine, Lady Gaga, The Killers, Mumford and Sons, P!nk and Logic, Q-Tip ft. Demi Lovato, Queens of the Stone Age, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith,
Restoration highlights countries biggest stars with thoughtful interpretations by Dierks Bentley, Rosanne Cash and Emmylou Harris, Miley Cyrus, Vince Gill and Don Henley, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Brothers Osborne, Chris Stapleton, Rhonda Vincent and Dolly Parton and Lee Ann Womack.
"'It's always a huge compliment when an artist loves your song enough to take the time and effort to rework it," adds Elton John. "As songwriters, Bernie and myself are thrilled when singers we admire and respect as much as those on Revamp & Restoration choose to add their own unique twist in the process. It means that our music is still relevant and ultimately that our songs continue to reach new audiences. We're humbled and thank them all for their generosity."
"Because of our love of all kinds of music, we're not stuck in one genre," said Bernie Taupin. "From day one we borrowed from everything that's good about American music - whether it's blues, country, gospel, pop, pure rock - everything got thrown in the mix. I think that's why our music over the years has been so varied. It would be tiring if you just got stuck in one niche your entire career, especially when it's one as long as ours."
The album art for Restoration was created by Bernie. The rustic musical instruments and flags from both nations is an extension of his mixed-media art that's another form of expression. It symbolizes the role that U.S. culture and its native music has played as a driver in the John/Taupin canon.
"For me, there's an irony about the American flag," Taupin says. "It's been battered and beaten and burned, but it's resilient. It's always come back. I incorporate it with other things, and lately I've done a lot of pieces with deconstructed guitars and other found materials: barbed wire, broken bottles, things that people identify with on an everyday level. If it's on the floor and it works, I'll put it into the artwork. But it all goes hand in hand with my belief in America and my interest, I would say obsession, with Americana."
Revamp has a pop art cover based on the Terry O'Neil photograph of Elton that was recreated in neon. The covers are very different from each other because they represent totally different albums.
"We have two completely different albums; Revamp being the pop one and Restoration being the country one and God we have so many great artists doing our songs, it's quite incredible," said Elton John. "Restoration was Bernie's project and he's a huge country fan. The 'Revamp' was more my project. He came up with an astonishing list of country performers both new and legendary. On Revamp I wrote out a wish list of people that I would love and asked them and to my surprise most of them said yes and we have quite an astonishing eclectic crew."1. Rocket Man - Little Big Town

Beginning Of Things (Out Of Stock)Beginning of Things, the new full-length album from acclaimed musician, songwriter, and performer Charlie Worsham, will be released via Warner Bros. Records / Warner Music Nashville.
Co-produced by Frank Liddell (Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack, Aubrie Sellers) and Eric Masse (Rayland Baxter, Mikky Ekko) with Arturo Buenahora, Jr. (Eric Church, Dierks Bentley) serving as the Executive Producer, Beginning of Things includes 13 new songs, 9 of which Worsham co-wrote.
Of the album, Worsham comments, "We had so much fun! I had fallen out of love with music, and making this record put me back in love with it on a level I hadn't felt since I was a teenager. Beginning Of Things was a challenge in surrendering control and trusting my own talent. I'm confident that these songs and these recordings capture my musical geography and personal truth, and at the end of the day, I'm convinced that is the ultimate purpose of an artist-to speak one's truth."
Born and raised in Mississippi, Worsham attended Grenada High School and went on to study at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music. In addition to his life as a working musician, Worsham is actively involved in music education and, last year founded the Follow Your Heart Scholarship Fund in partnership with The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The fund supports the youth of Grenada, Mississippi-his hometown-who possess an uncommon talent and desire to achieve great things in the arts. In its first year, the organization has raised nearly $50,000. More information can be found at www.FollowYourHeartArts.org.
Beginning of Things is Worsham's second full-length album and follows 2013's Rubberband, which received widespread acclaim. American Songwriter calls Worsham, "the sort of triple threat artist that seems in short supply on Music Row these days. He writes well, sings well, and is a skilled and tasteful guitarist to boot," while Rolling Stone asserts, "A fleet-fingered guitarist and empathetic vocalist, his talent is reminiscent of a young Keith Urban in all the best ways."1.
