    Fight Club (Soundtrack)

Mondo are proud to present the soundtrack to Fight Club on vinyl for the first time in over 15 Years.

The Dust Brothers only film score to date, Fight Club is arguably one of the most enjoyable soundtrack albums to come out of the 90's and part of that has to do with the fact that it is one of the best sequenced scores of all time. Weaving all of the films cues from the film into 16 songs, the album winds up feeling like the best instrumental Trip-Hop album you've never heard.

    Prestige Series Gold Cartridge

The Prestige (and upscale Reference) cartridges from Grado are the first released since the elder Grado's retirement, but they mark an evolution, not dramatic change, of the classic Grado style. There are three basic levels in the Prestige lineup: Black/Green, Blue/Red, and Silver/Gold. In each of these pairings, the latter model is the same as the former, but is able to meet more astringent test specifications. The Green, for instance, is taken from the top 15% of the Black models production.

The newly redesigned Silver1 and Gold1 have had their coil design reconfigured, and the effective moving mass of their generating system has been reduced by 17%. The Silver1 and gold1 models use a four piece OTL cantilever technology, ultra-high purity long crystal (UHPLC) oxygen free copper wire in the coils and Grado's specially designed elliptical diamond mounted on a brass bushing. The Gold1 model is selected from the Silver1 production run and meets higher test specifications. Approximately 5% of the production run meet these standards and become Gold1 models.

What People are saying about the Gold... "The Prestige Gold's sound was readily identifiable, but after just a few seconds it didn't matter much, so engaging were the results."

    - Wayne Garcia - The Absolute Sound

    "It's a definite Best Buy!"

    - Hi Fi Choice / Alan Sircom

"Beefheart's Clear Spot, the undoing of many an under-performing cartridges, didn't faze the Grado." - Hi Fi Choice / Alan Sircom "It was lively and detailed but never edgy on vocal sibilants, and didn't over-emphasis leading edges on acoustic guitar."

    - Hi Fi Choice / Alan Sircom

"While the Prestige Gold cannot provide quite the same ultra-refined, take-you-to-the-mountaintop listening experiences that big buck moving coils can, it takes you a long way up the path toward analog excellence, and for a pennies-on-the-dollar price."

    - Chris Martens / The Absolute Sound

    With 2M Red Cartridge

The best-buy turntable classic with carbon tonearm and DC power supply!

The first Debut turntable, introduced in the late 1990s, was a revolution for the hi-fi industry. For the first time after the arrival of Compact Disc and the assumed demise of vinyl records, an analogue product re-emerged in the "mass market" - something all music lovers could afford.

The new DEBUT Carbon DC has been designed to set new standards in this category for the coming decade - perfectly timed as analogue today is again a respected source, while the demand for good turntables is growing again!

The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a CARBON TUBE for the tonearm, which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. This material normally is extensively used in high-end tonearms, but - because of cost reasons - was never used in products at lower price levels. Together with other improvements like an increase in platter size and weight to realize even smoother rotation, the overall sound quality is greatly improved. The approved belt drive design offers low noise AC motor with effective motor decoupling (utilizing TPE-damping) and ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability without unwanted vibration.

The DEBUT CARBON DC will be offered in high-gloss black or shiny red, green, blue, yellow, purple, silver or white as no-added-cost option.

    Distant Horizons

    Gray Colored Vinyl

Distant Horizons is the twenty-first studio album by the English space rock group Hawkwind, released in 1997. This album has Hawkwind firing on all cylinders. A powerful album with a refreshing style and up-tempo beat. There are distinct style changes in this album with a leaning towards 'fringe' dance scene in places. Overall though, this is still a 'spacerock' album in the best traditions of Hawkwind. This is Hawkwind in their latest incarnation and every bit as vibrant as they were 30 something years ago. 200-Gram Vinyl Pressed At Quality Record Pressings

All-Analog Mastering By Ryan K. Smith At Sterling Sound From The Original Tapes

Deluxe Tip-On Gatefold Jacket From Stoughton Printing

Double 1990 Grammy Award Winner: Best Contemporary Blues Album, Best Rock Instrumental Performance - "D/FW"

Stevie Ray had made music beyond the powers of most musicians but for this 1990 studio collaboration he returned to the things he loved: upbeat music and working with the brother he idolized his whole life. In his early years, Stevie Ray Vaughan often remarked that he would like to do an album with his brother. He fulfilled that wish in his very last studio performance, which was released nearly a month after his death. The liner notes end with "Thanks Mama V. for letting us play." With slick production from Nile Rodgers and employing neither guitarist's band (Double Trouble nor the Fabulous Thunderbirds), this is bluesy, but far from purist. Jimmie makes his vocal debut on "White Boots"
and "Good Texan" and the brothers blur the lines between their expected guitar styles - Stevie sometimes going for a less sustained twang, Jimmie moving into Albert King territory.

As we did with our vaunted box set reissues, Texas Hurricane, again Analogue Productions is bringing you the finest-sounding Stevie Ray Vaughan collections ever preserved on 200-gram vinyl. Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound cut the lacquers for the LPs using the ultimate VMS 80 cutting lathe. Gary Salstrom handled the plating and the vinyl was pressed of course at Quality Record Pressings.

There's not a link in this chain that wasn't absolute first-rate. The absolute best that money can buy. We're passionate about the blues AND Stevie Ray and the passion shows up here in spades.

Couldn't Stand The Weather (200 Gram Vinyl)

Mastered From The Original Analog Tapes By Ryan K. Smith At Sterling Sound

Cut At 45 Rpm, 200-Gram Pressing By Quality Record Pressings

The new remastering sounds amazing. Better than it ever did. I'm happy and pleasantly surprised.

    -Chris Whipper Layton

The 45 RPM Analogue Productions reissue of Stevie Ray Vaughan's Couldn't Stand The Weather is so good, as are its 45 RPM companions - Texas Flood and Soul To Soul - that they truly represent what Gregg Geller, producer and A&R representative described as the best replication of the master tapes to date.

We've already brought you the 33 1/3 RPM box set Texas Hurricane featuring the greatest Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute ever reissued - six of Vaughan's most classic album titles remastered for ultimate blues and guitar fanatics. We've now taken the extra step and done 45 RPM versions of these three standout LPs.

We've used the original 30 inches-per-second, half-inch analog master tapes for all of these albums. Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound cut the lacquers for the LPs using the ultimate VMS 80 cutting lathe. Gary Salstrom handled the plating and the vinyl was pressed of course at our Quality Record Pressings, maker of the world's finest-sounding LPs.

Couldn't Stand The Weather is the remarkable sophomore album by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. It follows their critically acclaimed debut, Texas Flood. Incorporating the same winning formula of musicianship and songwriting, Couldn't Stand The Weather cemented Vaughan's place as one of music's greatest. It is their first to earn gold certification and their first platinum-seller. It includes breathtaking renditions of Clark's "Cold Shot" and Hendrix's "Voodoo Child." A staple on the Billboard charts, this definitive masterpiece received praise from Entertainment Weekly, Q, Down Beat and many others.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's 1983 debut album, Texas Flood, was a phenomenal success, climbing into the Top 40 and spending over half a year on the charts, which was practically unheard of for a blues recording. The record plays like a dynamite club show, filled with crowd-pleasing originals and covers, all performed with unbridled enthusiasm. Texas Flood was certified gold on August 13, 1990, and certified platinum on January 22, 1992.

Deluxe Tip-On Gatefold Jacket From Stoughton Printing

On 1989's In Step, Vaughan found his own songwriting voice, blending blues, soul, and rock in unique ways, and writing with startling emotional honesty. Yes, there are a few covers, all well chosen, but the heart of the album rests in the songs he cowrote with Doyle Bramhall, the man who penned the Soul to Soul highlight "Change It." Fueled by a desire to make up for lost time and delight in his reawakened commitment to life and sobriety, Vaughan turned in what many consider his greatest artistic statement, an album ensconced in sweat, soul, determination, and not an ounce of filler.

"Travis Walk" offers a heady rush of flat-picking, "The House is Rockin'" is full-tilt roots-boogie, "Let Me Love You Baby" and "Leave My Girl Alone" are sweet blues epiphanies, and the nine-minute instrumental "Riviera Paradise" is a truly soulful mix of blues and jazz. By now, just a year before his untimely death, Vaughan had also tamed his bawling voice into a rich instrument. In short, this 1989 session is Vaughan at his artistic peak.

In Step remains one of the five greatest blues records of the past quarter century. There's not a link in this chain that wasn't absolute first-rate. The absolute best that money can buy. We're passionate about the blues AND Stevie Ray and the passion shows up here in spades.

Cut At 45 Rpm, 200-Gram Pressing By Quality Record Pressings

The new remastering sounds amazing. Better than it ever did. I'm happy and pleasantly surprised.

    -Chris Whipper Layton

The 45 RPM Analogue Productions reissue of Stevie Ray Vaughan's Soul To Soul is so good, as are its 45 RPM companions - Texas Flood and Couldn't Stand The Weather - that they truly represent what Gregg Geller, producer and A&R representative described as the best replication of the master tapes to date.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's myth making was already complete by the time that his third record in as many years was released in October 1985. But no one could have expected the artistic leaps and additional prowess the guitarist displays on Soul To Soul, a record on which Vaughan added a full-time keyboardist and saxophonist, and dug deep into his native state's musical well for soul, R&B and surf motifs. Vaughan wrote four of Soul to Soul's 10 tracks; two songs were released as singles. The album went to No. 34 on the Billboard 200 chart and the music video for Change It received regular rotation on MTV.

There's not a link in this production chain that wasn't absolute first-rate. The absolute best that money can buy.

The Late Great Townes Van Zandt

The Late Great Townes Van Zandt is a 1972 studio album by Texas singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. It was the second album that he recorded in 1972, and a follow-up to High, Low and In Between. The album includes the earliest recorded version of two of his best-known songs, Pancho and Lefty and If I Needed You. The album also included several cover songs and a re-recorded version of Sad Cinderella from his 1968 debut album. Some reviewers point to this as an indication that Van Zandt's prolific writing was beginning to slow,[4] however, this was his sixth studio album in five years. The cover songs included one song by his close friend, Guy Clark (Don't Let the Sunshine Fool Ya'), one by a major influence, Hank Williams (Honky Tonkin'), and the Lawton Williams song Fraulein. As a boy Van Zandt's father only agreed to buy him his first guitar after Van Zandt promised to learn to play Fraulein.

The album has made several critical best of all-time lists. Stereophile included it as one of 94 honorable mentions that just missed their list of The 40 Essential Albums.

    Covered In Black

And they are glorious, beautiful. Sounding a bit like She &
Him might were they produced by Sufjan Stevens - to create a
sort of She & She & She & She, they are four alt-pop Brontës
who beam right into your stereo like a comforting aural torch
you never need to buy batteries for. - Drowned In Sound

"Best referenced midway between the Bangles and Go-Gos in
terms of a girl group approach, there's a kind of slacker
sensibility at work here, one that never muffles the drive or
conviction. I was meant for something more, Cottingham
sings on the final track, aptly entitled Anything and indeed a
lyric has never sounded so true." - Blurt

Precociousness always catches its observer off guard; we are
witness to a stubborn incongruity, a disproportionate relationship
between limited years and elevated levels of skill, insight, or
vision. It confounds common experience, and we wonder. When
Ortolan's debut album Time On A String was released in 2010,
three quarters of the family foursome were yet under drinking
age. Along with copious kudos given to the quality of the music
and the maturity of the songwriting, every single review made
mention of their age. Wonder indeed.

What may be the greater marvel though, is when a nascent talent
starts to grow into itself; when prodigious promise begins to
deliver something beyond spectacle, when it begins to nourish
those who are witness to it. Such is the case with Ortolan's latest,
    Covered In Black.

The pulse at the heart of Ortolan's music has always been
Stephanie Cottingham's voice, a curious combination of
innocence, wisdom, and wit (all rare commodities in the greater
landscape of popular music today). These beguiling qualities
remain, but here her voice is imbued with a greater richness. The
bandwidth of color, hue, and shade has widened; the reds are
redder and the blues are bluer. Even more significant though, is
Cottingham's development as an interpreter of her own songs.
Her voice remains a thing to behold, but in the tradition of Kitty
Wells, Etta James, or Emmylou Harris, she is becoming a
storyteller. Each note is now is its own scene in a greater drama.
Each vocal push and lilt tells of loss and love, fear and
    friendship.

As much as Ortolan is about Stephanie Cottingham's voice and
songwriting, it is about family, and the picture is incomplete
without the powerful presence of Jill (keys), Briana (bass), and
Lara (drums). Floor toms drum and drive, strumming guitars
strum and strum faster, basses rock and keyboards swirl and
swoop. Their commitment to one another is palpable, and is as
important to the music as the notes and rhythms they're playing.

That their voices also join Stephanie's throughout the record is
not insignificant. There is an excess of animosity in the world: so
much time is spent competing, resisting, debating, conflicting,
arguing. There is something so vital and humane in joining voices
for once, in unison. One of the simplest and most powerful
activities of human beings is singing together, and this is a
central ingredient to Ortolan's music and life. Nothing is
pretended-it's what they do: voices are raised and raised
together -- to cry, to question, to pray, to laugh, to celebrate.

The color black is achieved through the mixing of different
paints and opposing pigments; as such, black represents the
presence of color, not the absence of it, and Ortolan's latest is
    covered in it.

A Hard Days Night (Awaiting Repress)

Ranked 388/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

    Pressed on 180g Vinyl

Cut from the original master tapes at Abbey Road Studios!

And for the first time, the North American LP debut in stereo

A Hard Days Night is the 3rd studio album from The Beatles and was accompanied by a film of the same name. This album really showcases the bands Rock and Roll instrumentation and song structure and also spawned some of their most famous songs, A Hard Days Night, with its pulse pounding and recognizable opening chord, to the previously released "Can't Buy Me Love" .

The album is a landmark for the band seeing as how it is the first Beatles record to feature all original songs, some of which ended up on the movie of the same name. With Lennon handling most of the songwriting doing a total of ten out of the thirteen tracks, this is also one of 3 albums to not feature a Ringo Lead song. The album is also considered as opening up the flood gates for more British rockers like the Rolling Stones and The Kinks to sweep there way to the U.S.

A team consisting of some of the best producers and engineers in the recording industry were brought together and would spend 4 long years mixing and mastering with some of the most state of the art recording equipment. Treating these records much like a science experiment, engineers ran extensive tests before copying the analog master tapes over into a digital format using 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and carefully removing clicks, vocal pops and poor edits. Never altering the original songs themselves, just polishing them up a bit.

    Onyx

In the twelve years since their inception, Michigan's Pop Evil have undergone their fair share of changes. Members, style, labels, you name it and there is a decent change the group has made some kind of tweak in the last decade. This is not a complaint, however, as every new evolution of the group has made them a tighter, more focus band. Since 2010s War Of Angels the group has again undergone changes, including the addition of drummer Chachi Riot and guitarist Nick Fuelling, as well as their decision to not use acoustic guitars, and once again the mitten state's greatest rock band has come out better for their efforts.

The idea of overcoming your demons and that which holds you back from being who you want to be or doing what you desire may sound like an overly-present theme on the album, but it never feels so familiar that it becomes tired. Instead, each track on Onyx feels like an anthem in its own right, targeting those with various doubts about themselves and the world around them. Pop Evil harness tap into the fear of the unknown that lies within each of us in our own unique ways and offer up twelve tracks to motivate and inspire individuals to take their lives into their own hands. Onyx is one of the most cohesive, memorable, and downright fun listening experiences of the year. It's the best album Pop Evil have ever written, and it's littered with moments that indicate there are years of great music still come. I cannot think of a single reason anyone who considers themselves a fan of rock and roll should not buy Onyx. As of May 14, it will officially be an album to beat in 2013, and it could not have come from a more deserving and hard working band.

    Ambit Tuner

For more than 30 years Creek Audio has established itself as an expert in the field of radio. Historically, Mike Creek has developed and manufactured radio products since the early 70s. Mike's father also made radio products, so it's in his DNA. The latest DAB radios use bit-compression to turn all radio stations into the equivalent of very poor quality MP3 players. Needless to say, this is the main reason for Creek not offering a DAB radio in its Hi-Fi range. In any case, you don't need to buy a DAB radio when all the digital and analogue stations are broadcast over the internet now. Even analogue stations, broadcast over the internet, are digitised and compressed, so the best way to listen is still via a traditional radio or tuner.

The latest tuner in Creek's EVOLUTION range is the AMBIT FM/AM Tuner module, suitable for adding to the EVOLUTION 50A or the EVOLUTION 100A amplifier. Plugging this tuner into the back panel of the amplifier upgrades the amp into a Receiver. Its Plug and Play nature also allows it to update the amp's software to the latest revision automatically. Once the tuner is installed and the amp is switched-on, the display will show the amp having an extra input - A Tuner input, in fact. However, it will look to the user like a stand-alone tuner in the OLED display window.

Once installed, the four left hand buttons on the front panel, together with the left hand control knob and or remote control handset, will offer all the radio function controls.

The AMBIT tuner receives the entire FM and AM frequency band and digitises it with two high quality ADCs. It then manages the signal using a Digital Signal processor and even separates the left and right channel information in FM. After this, using its own high quality DAC, it returns the digital signal to Audio, to be amplified by the EVOLUTION 50A or 100A.

The result is simply brilliant. FM signals have textbook operation, with none of the usual problems associated with analogue tuner performance. RDS stations will show their name and other information. AM performance is excellent also and can provide excellent performance just from the loop antenna provided, if there is a good indoor signal.

FM radio performance is limited only by the quality of the signal and of course the antenna used. Choose an external antenna for the best results.

Listen to your favourite stations like you have never heard them before.

Statement Series The Statement 2 Cartridge

    1 mV Output

GRADO RE-MAKES THEIR STATEMENT! After years of careful thought and painstaking design Grado is very pleased to offer their upgraded flagship phono cartridge. We are so proud of this cartridge and believe that it has so much to say about Grado technology, that it was named the GRADO STATEMENT. The STATEMENT utilizes reconfigured gold coil wires, a lower mass faster generating system, a boron cantilever and a diamond cut specially for Grado. All this is hand-assembled within a machined, new processed, Australian Jarrah wood housing. The output for the STATEMENT1 measures at 1 mV. The lowest output ever offered by Grado. The low frequency information and its portrayal of bass dynamics are solid, powerful and authoritative. The midrange is rich, complex and highly believable. Its top-end seems to extend forever with speed and remarkable delicacy. Imaging is detailed and precise with a sound stage that wraps its arms around you and draws you into the music. Michael Fremer commented in his Analog Corner, "It is among the finest cartridges I've ever heard at any price", Stereophile 3/99, pg. 41. While Jonathan Valin stated, "I'm going to keep the Statement in my reference system" The Absolute Sound, Issue 118. Anyone who was impressed with our previous top-of-the-line effort, the Grado REFERENCE, will have their eyes opened wide after listening to the GRADO STATEMENT1!

"I'm having way too much fun listening to my best LPs to worry about the technical stuff. You have to listen to music sometime, and the Grado Statement 1 has transported me to phono Shangri La. If you can scrape together the dough or even if cost is no object, buy the Grado Statement 1 and don't look back. It will redefine your analog experience and is a world beater design. Moving coils move over, there's a new kid in town. The Grado Statement is state of the art and most highly recommended. Way to go Grado!"

    - Positive Feedback / Robert H. Levi

"The Statement consistently did a fine job of reproducing detail, and it was able to do so during both loud and complex passages."

    Frogtown

Anthony Wilson, best known as a jazz guitarist, has released an organic, occasionally 'noir-ish'-sounding album on which he sets up and sings within cinematic musical landscapes, proving himself to be an equally compelling story teller. Frogtown is an area of Los Angeles, whose official name is Elysian Valley. People live there but other than a lush stretch of the L.A. riverbed, there's not much there, which is how the people like it. The same can't be said of this record, which will have you wondering from where came this Anthony Wilson? ... the album's sound and the deftly drawn arrangements (for some reason uncredited) perfectly compliment Wilson's dreamy, rural intentions (producer Joe Harley gets a 'audio consultation' credit). The sound achieves a rare level of transparency, delicacy and three-dimensionality in today's hard-edged audio world. Bernie Grundman cut lacquers from what I assume were high resolution files. I doubt you'll ask yourself 'why buy the vinyl?' after your first listen. - Music = 10/11; Sound = 10/11 - Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com.

Frogtown, a new album of original instrumental and vocal songs, is guitarist Anthony Wilson's widest-ranging work to date, and his debut as a vocalist. Wilson enlisted Grammy-winning producer/bassist Mike Elizondo (Gary Clark Jr., Kimbra, Ry Cooder), a longtime friend and musical colleague, to help him realize this collection of layered and personal sonic stories.

Featuring a cast of renowned musicians - drummers Jim Keltner and Matt Chamberlain, violinist Petra Haden, and keyboardists Patrick Warren and Josh Nelson - each song on Frogtown evokes a distinct feeling and landscape, and takes the listener someplace new. Virtuosic guitar and ensemble work, well-made songs and detailed arrangements, and intimate vocals are the driving forces of the album.

An album highlight is the song Your Footprints - written by Wilson with songwriter Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift, Semisonic) - featuring a special guest appearance from iconic jazz saxophonist Charles Lloyd. The collaboration with Lloyd alludes to Wilson's deep jazz roots, and evokes memories of his father, the late, great composer/bandleader Gerald Wilson. Other songs summon varied musical influences - FM radio of the 1970's, Ry Cooder's diverse body of work, children's rhymes, guitar styles from the 1920's to the present day.

Frogtown travels into, through, and beyond genres; the album's melodies and lyrics guide the listener through tender and complex emotional landscapes. Anthony Wilson steps confidently into the center of the frame for this musical and personal portrait.

For Brother Records - Elliott Lott

Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio, Most From The Original Master Tapes Or Best Sources Available

Lacquer Plating By Gary Salstrom And 200-gram Vinyl Pressing By Quality Record Pressings!

To meet the standards of Analogue Productions, our Beach Boys album reissues had a mission to achieve: Present the band's music the way that Brian Wilson - famed co-founder, songwriter and arranger - intended. Mono mixes created under Wilson's supervision were how the surf rockin' California crew rose to fame! And we've got 'em!

For the early part of the Beach Boys career, all of their singles were mixed and mastered and released only in the mono format - they didn't release a single in stereo until 1968. In those days, hits were made on AM radio in mono. And the mono of those times worked well for Wilson, who suffers from partial deafness. Still, apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master.

We've taken 10 of the most classic, best-sounding Beach Boy titles ever and restored them to their mono glory! But there's no disputing that the close harmonies and one-of-a-kind rhythms of hits like "Surfer Girl," "In My Room," "Little Deuce Coupe" and more lend themseleves naturally to stereo. So we've got your 2-channel needs covered with prime stereo mix versions as well.
Mastered by Kevin Gray, most from the original master tapes, and plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings, the finest LP pressing facility in the world, these are awesome recordings to experience. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in old school Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time honored favorites shine brighter than the originals!

Capitol Records, which had already released ten Beach Boys albums in three years, was bugging the group for product that it could release in time for the 1965 Christmas season. To buy time while Brian Wilson began conceiving the Pet Sounds masterpiece, the group issued a set of covers, mostly of the '50s rock and R&B they had listened to as schoolboys. Packaged as if it had been recorded at an actual party, it was in fact recorded in the studio, with friends and romantic partners adding sounds and vocals to create an informal atmosphere. With the exception of a bass guitar, all the instruments were acoustic; the acoustic guitar-and-bongo arrangements, in fact, give this a hootenanny campfire feel. In recent years, this album has gone up a few notches in critical esteem, praised for its loose, casual feel and insight into the group's influences. ... It does have the massive hit 'Barbara Ann,' which actually features Dean Torrence (of Jan & Dean) on much of the lead vocals; other highlights include 'Mountain of Love,' an unexpected version of 'The Times They Are a-Changin',' and three Beatles covers. - AllMusic.com
