    Amorica

On Amorica, the Black Crowes finally come into their own, taking their cue from the most relaxed, groove-oriented tracks on their previous album. While the album contains no immediately obvious singles, the songs are the best the band has ever written, stretching out into a hard, jam-oriented, funky blues-rock. the Black Crowes' influences are still discernible -- no band celebrates the glory days of rock culture quite as enthusiastically -- but they use the music of the Stones, the Faces, and Little Feat much the same way the Stones used the music of Chuck Berry: it's a starting point that leads the band into a new direction, incorporating different musical genres, and making the music original. That sense of reinterpretation is what keeps Amorica fresh.

The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion

The addition of the more technically gifted guitarist Marc Ford and a full-time organist gives the Black Crowes room to stretch out on The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, perhaps the band's finest moment. Using Rich Robinson's descending chord progressions as a base, the band grooves its way through a remarkably fresh-sounding collection of Faces-like rockers and ballads, tearing into the material with flair and confidence and really coming into its own as a top-notch rock & roll outfit. But while the focus is undeniably on the band's musical chemistry, Southern Harmony also boasts a strong collection of songs, striking a perfect balance between the concise Shake Your Money Maker and their later, more jam-oriented records. While there aren't as many obvious singles as on their debut album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion is the best expression of the Crowes' ability to take a classic, tried-and-true sound and make it their own.

    Nothin But Love

Five-time Grammy award winning legend and Blues Hall of Fame Inductee Robert Cray is proud to announce the release of his brand new studio album, Nothin But Love, on Provogue Records. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Joe Bonamassa, Aerosmith, The Black Crowes), the 10-song set includes material written by all four Robert Cray Band members; Robert Cray (vocals/guitar), Jim Pugh (keyboards), Cray Band co-founder Richard Cousins (bass) and Tony Braunagel (drums). Nothin But Love blends blues, rock, soul and jazz, with a lyric-sheet that examines the triumphs, fallouts and follies of love.

Produced with what Shirley refers to as "the dirt under the fingernails," Nothin But Love was recorded live over two-weeks at the Revolver Studios in LA. The album features the soaring break-up blues of Won't Be Coming Home, the jazz chops of I'll Always Remember You, the soul-drenched ode to repossession that is Great Big Old House and the frantic '50s-flavoured rocker Side Dish. The album is Cray's sixteenth studio effort overall and marks the latest milestone in a career that has produced 15 Grammy award nominations (5 wins), over 12 million record sales worldwide, thousands of sold out concerts across the globe, and even his own signature line of Fender guitars.

"Kevin did an amazing job producing this album and I'm really happy with the outcome," says Cray, "he captured the real essence of the Robert Cray Band, that live energy we deliver on the road that is usually so difficult to nail down in the studio. I think it's one of the strongest records that we've done."

    Ten

Ranked 207/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Ten, the debut album that sold 12 million copies and introduced the world to Pearl Jam in 1991, is now being reissued in four new and expanded editions. The reissue of Ten serves as the launch of a planned two-year catalog re-release campaign leading up to the bands 20th anniversary in 2011.

This edition of Ten is packaged on two vinyl LPs and includes two versions of the album: the remastered version of the original album plus an accompanying remixed version done by the bands long-time producer, Brendan OBrien (Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Audioslave).

The band loved the original mix of Ten, but were also interested in what it would sound like if I were to deconstruct and remix it, says producer Brendan OBrien. The original Ten sound is what millions of people bought, dug and loved, so I was initially hesitant to mess around with that. After years of persistent nudging from the band, I was able to wrap my head around the idea of offering it as a companion piece to the original, giving a fresh take on it, a more direct sound.

Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, who served as the art director for the original Ten packaging, reprised his role for the reissues collaborating with designer, Andy Fischer, of Cameron Crowes Vinyl Films (Into the Wild soundtrack LP, Vanilla Sky soundtrack LP, Harold and Maude anniversary edition soundtrack LP). The goal was to assemble the ultimate fan-piece, explains Fischer. Something Pearl Jam lovers could pore over as they experience an indelible record all over again, in an entirely new way.

Pearl Jam originally released Ten on August 27, 1991. The album reached #2 on the Billboard 200 chart, sold over 12 million copies and became one of the cultural touchstones of the '90s. Songs such as Alive, Black, Even Flow and Jeremy became staples of rock radio, and still make frequent appearances on the bands ever-changing concert setlists. The album was produced by Rick Parasher. Pearl Jams 1991 lineup was Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (guitar), Dave Krusen (drums), Mike McCready (guitar) and Eddie Vedder (vocals).

    Three Snakes And One Charm

Three Snakes and One Charm is the fourth album by the American blues rock band The Black Crowes, originally released July 23, 1996.

...Three Snakes and One Charm is a winning album, mainly because the Black Crowes' musicianship continues to deepen -- the musical fusions and eclecticism are seamless, particularly from lead guitarist Rich Robinson.

    Trigger Hippy

Trigger Hippy is a rock band with jam & R&B elements formed by Black Crowes drummer and co-founder Steve Gorman. Multi-platinum recording artist
Joan Osborne - of the Tope 5 single "One Of Us." Also spent time singing for The Dead. Singer-guitarist-keyboardist Jackie Greene who joined The Black
Crowes in later years and also spent time with Phil Lesh & Friends, Gov't Mule, Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, Susan Tedeschi as well as a host of others. Award-winning session players Tom Bukovac (Guitarist) and Nick Govrik (Bassist.)

You can see this as a 'player's band', explains co-founder Steve Gorman, who also co-founded The Black Crowes, but it really is a band, in the true
sense of that word. Vocals are shared by multi-platinum singer Joan Osborne and veteran recording artist Jackie Greene. Rounding out the band are
lead guitarist Tom Bukovac and bassist Nick Govrik, who wrote many of the band's songs.

The Nashville-based quintet's debut album on Rounder Records draws on the strengths of all five, both individually and collectively, and showcases
influences and inspiration from Memphis soul to rock, country and blues. One can sense The Band here, and Little Feat, some Led Zeppelin, and a tent
revival; a full palette. Gorman rightly calls it a rock band that can jam.

    The Best Of Crow

Pure Rock N' Roll From The Midwest On 180 Gram Vinyl!

With a lowdown bass lick, uptown R&B horns and surging organ punctuating a catchy chorus, "Evil Woman (Don't Play Your Games With Me)" hit the Top 20 like a comet in 1969 and propelled Crow from Midwest club band into national touring act overnight. Thanks in part to covers by Black Sabbath and Ike and Tina Turner, it's one of the most recognizable hits of the era and, inexplicably, one of the few to not make the transition into the digital age. Until now.

Out of print for four decades, Crow's finest recordings are now available again on CD and 180-gram vinyl editions meticulously mastered from the original tapes. Long-suffering Crow fans can at last savor the best of the band's gritty run from 1969-1971, including not only "Evil Woman," but their other charting singles "Cottage Cheese," "Slow Down" and "(Don't Try to Lay No Boogie Woogie on the) King of Rock & Roll" -- not to mention deep album cuts like "Keeps Me Running." Both formats also feature a previously unreleased demo cover of the Beatles' "When I Get Home," and the CD edition adds a previously unreleased long version of "Cottage Cheese." Each edition comes fully equipped with memorabilia, photos and detailed liners by Doug Sheppard of Ugly Things magazine.

Luther Dickinson is most well known as the head of the North Mississippi all-stars and the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes. He has become known as one of the best guitar players around, whose slide guitar style has been likened to the great Mississippi Fred McDowell. As a young person in Northern Mississippi, Luther was schooled his father, Jim Dickinson, and by the legendary Otha Turner and R.L. Boyce as to the finer aspects of blues guitar playing. Handbone's Meditations is his debut solo outing. The record is a soft, fragile and beautiful offering that provides a stage for Dickinson's soulful, masterful melodic blues stylings.

This is the last album to feature material in the genres of rap metal and hip hop before Rock crossed over to more country rock. Black Bob and Jackson, Mississippi were recorded for his 1996 album Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp in 1995, but were left off the album. Feel Like Makin' Love, Cold and Empty, Intro, Hillbilly Stomp and Run Off to LA were recorded for the demo sessions for 2001's Cocky, but did not make the cut has well. A vagabond spirit permeates these tales of truck stops, tip jars, boxcars, and love left behind, with a slide guitar punctuating arrangements that range from acoustic folk to classic rock (amid hints of the Rolling Stones, Neil Young's Crazy Horse, and a young Tom Waits). Yet ultimately, the impressive debut by this Southwestern, raspy-voiced troubadour is more than the sum of its songs, as the sequencing almost amounts to a narrative of life on the road, with the world-weary, end-of-the-line Long Way from Georgia and Ever Wonder Why, leading to the renewal of Sunrise. Former Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford produced and provides multi-instrumental support, with Texas honky-tonk legend Terry Allen offering guest vocals and piano on Ghost of Travelin' Jones.

Originally released in 2001, the Detroit Cobras Life, Love and Leaving is the group's best-known effort, coming at a time when bands like the White Stripes and Dirtbombs were also releasing seminal albums that started picking up recognition outside of their collective hometown of Detroit. Hitting hard with songs by soul heavyweights like Solomon Burke (''Stupidity''), Mary Wells (''Bye Bye Baby''), Otis Redding (''Shout Bamalama''), the inimitable vocals of Rachel Nagy would no-doubt be a template from which folks like Amy Winehouse would work from years later. 4th Street Feeling

    What's the 4th Street Feeling?

"4th Street is in Leavenworth," says Melissa Etheridge.

That's her home town in Kansas, pop. 35,000, known mostly for its prison and Army base.

And it's the place evoked in the title, and title song, of 4th Street Feeling, the 12th studio album of her singular, 25-year recording career.

"It's kind of the main drag, starting in the old downtown," she says of her old stomping grounds. "I remember the first McDonald's in town there. The town's pretty small. That's where we would hang out, the Burger King parking lot, the football games. Everything was on Fourth Street. That's where we would cruise. And then it turns into Highway 7 that goes out of town to Kansas City."

That's exactly where the album opens, with the bluesy, harmonica-spiced "Kansas City." The scene is set with Etheridge driving in "my old man's Delta 88," reliving road-trips fueled on "Lucky Charms, Tic Tacs and Mom's amphetamines." Only this time, the woman who left Leavenworth for Hollywood years ago is taking herself - and us - home. It's a trip to where she's from. But also a trip to where she's headed.

There are "all the untold lies of my misspent youth," as she sings in the funky coming-of-age tale "The Shadow of the Black Crow," a song in the storytelling tradition of such cherished artists as the Eagles and Bob Seger. There is the demand to "Be Real" ("You can't manufacture me, because I like it naturally"), a song in which she says she nods lovingly to the sultry, sexy soul of Rufus with Chaka Khan and Sly and the Family Stone. And she voyages into new territories of folky rock with the first single, "Falling Up," a joyful, upbeat track featuring her spirited recording debut on the banjitar, a hybrid banjo-guitar.

The fuel for this trek is her inner strength and confidence. In part it comes from recognition - 2011 has seen her awarded with a star on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame, and in the Fall of 2012 she will be honored by the National Women's Museum of Art in Washington, DC. But more so, if it comes from within.

"There's a certain confidence and assurance I get from all this, knowing that I can keep my day job," she laughs. "That shows on this album. I am fearless on this. I'm going to have fun. I had to love every note on this album."

    Dogman (Awaiting Repress)

Dogman is the fifth studio album by metal/hard rock trio King's X, released in 1994. It marks the band's second album under Atlantic and their first to be produced by Brendan O'Brien, who had gained notoriety based on his work with Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and The Black Crowes. Dogman signaled a heavier direction for King's X and, with strong approval from both critics and fans, is often considered one of their best works.

    Sloe Gin (Discontinued)

    Import

Sloe Gin is the seventh solo album by Joe Bonamassa, voted by Guitar Player readers as 2007's Best Blues Guitarist, blues-rock guitar virtuoso, vocalist, and songwriter. Sloe Gin re-teams him with producer Kevin Shirley (Joe Satriani, Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Leppelin), who produced 2006's You & Me, which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Blues Chart in June of last year.

Sloe Gin effortlessly ranges through heavy blues and acoustic numbers alike, a textured flow that Bonamassa says was in part inspired by Rod Stewart's legendary 1969 debut solo LP.

    Acid Tongue

Jenny Lewis Acid Tongue on 2LP + CD Set!

    Vinyl Pressed at RTI!

Femme fatale Jenny Lewis has never sounded so passionate and her songs never so hard-hitting and acerbic as on her aptly titled sophomore solo release, 2008's Acid Tongue. The album follows 2006s well received Rabbit Fur Coat and a series of acclaimed albums with Rilo Kiley. Featuring collaborations with She & Him and guest appearances by Elvis Costello and Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Acid Tongue proves to be a can't miss release.

This vinyl package features two standard weight black-vinyl discs produced and pressed at RTI in a double-gatefold jacket with a bonus CD in a paper sleeve. The discs contain three sides of audio and a special etching on the fourth side.

Lewis is indie rock's most sharp-elbowed songwriter, a crafter of taut meditations on love, sex and politics that are full of violent emotions and, occasionally, plain old violence. There's plenty of storminess on her excellent second solo album, whose songs mix muscular guitar rock (The Next Messiah) with soul balladeering (Sing a Song for Them) and chamber pop (Black Sand). --Jody Rosen, Rolling Stone, October 2, 2008

How Did I Find Myself Here?

The Dream Syndicate are at the foundation of contemporary alternative music because back in 1981 at a time when most bands were experimenting with new technology, they choose to bring back the guitar. Their seminal album The Days of Wine and Roses (1984) has been cited as influential by artists from Nirvana to the Black Crowes. Known for their incredible live performances, the band toured with everyone from REM to U2, before splitting up in 1988.

In 2012 after years apart in solo projects, front man Steve Wynn reunited The Dream Syndicate to perform at a charity festival in Spain. The reunited band took everything in baby steps. A few shows here and there-including a still talked-about set at Wilco's Solid Sound Festival. The shows were exciting---for both the band and the eagerly awaiting fans, many of whom weren't even alive when the band were around the first time. The next step was to see if the excitement and newfound chemistry would extend to the studio. From the first day of recording it was apparent that the band was making an album that would live up its history and take their story into the present. Wynn says, In a way it feels like if The Days of Wine and Roses would have been made in 2017. Which is to say that it's true to what we did before but it's also a whole new thing.
