BacklashBlack Joe Lewis & the Honeybears has reclaimed their original moniker and announced their fourth full-length album Backlash.
Backlash sees the return to their celebrated take on classic soul and punked-up R&B, though the album is their most stylistically adventurous work so far. Recorded in the band s hometown of Austin, TX, the 10-track album expands their sound by bringing gritty guitar tones and Stax-styled horn sections to intricate, danceable arrangements inspired by the likes of Nile Rodgers. I wanted to go for more of a soul/blues/rock-and-roll sound compared to the last one-the kind of stuff I was doing back in the day, but with the songwriting a little more evolved, notes eponymous frontman Lewis.
The album also confronts the ugly reality of dealing with the backlash from the things you ve done in the past, delivering a host of songs rooted in regret but steeped in a defiant spirit. Bombastic but nuanced, Backlash ultimately unfolds as an album both joyfully chaotic and intensely cathartic.

The Weather Report/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Series Begins!
The Original 1976 Jazz Rock Fusion Classic Black Market Album
Featuring Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Chester Thompson, Alex Acuna And The Debut Of Jaco Pastorius
Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso And Manufactured By R.T.I.
The legendary Weather Report set the music world on fire back in the early seventies with their hypnotic blend
of progressive-fused jazz with funk, prog-rock and soul, augmented with the brilliant and skillful musicianship of their
superstar founders Wayne Shorter on saxophone and various electronic reeds and the late great Joe Zawinul on a
stunning array of keyboards and electronic instruments. Both of these legendary musicians/composers worked with
Miles Davis on his classics like Bitches Brew, plus solid tenures with legends like Cannonball Adderley (Zawinul) and
Art Blakey (Shorter) all of which would prove to become the huge catalyst for things to come.
Throughout the remainder of the late seventies and beyond, Weather Report's fine arsenal of recordings would
take the band to the top of all the popular music charts. The 1976 fusion classic Black Market would go on to yield
one of the biggest albums of their career as it hit the top rungs of the jazz charts, plus major showings in the pop and
R&B charts. Black Market also introduced the world to the late great bassist legend Jaco Pastorius.
No stone is left unturned, as this masterpiece is loaded with hit after hit with smashes like Joe Zawinul's title
track Black Market, the powerful Elegant People by Wayne Shorter and of course Zawinul's tribute to his recently
deceased bandleader Cannonball Adderley with Cannon Ball.
As one of the most enduring albums in their massive career catalog, Black Market also features the all-star
line-up of Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius (bass), Chester Thompson (drums) and Alex Acuna (percussion).
Friends likes Michael Narada Walden and Alphonso Johnson also contribute to the amazing recording sessions. All in
all, Black Market took the fans by storm, forever retaining the title superstars to the Weather Report franchise.
Friday Music is pleased to announce for the very first time on audiophile vinyl Black Market by Weather Report.
Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios, this amazing classic truly shines in the audiophile vinyl

Weather Report was one of the most influential jazz-fusion groups of their era, and outlasted many of its contemporaries such as Herbie Hancock's Headhunters and The Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Despite many personnel changes over its 16 year lifespan, they continued to create groundbreaking music under the guidance of Joe Zawinul.
Bandmembers Zawinul, Shorter and Moreira all played the bands of Miles Davis and at first Weather Report was a direct extension of Miles' 'In A Silent Way'/ 'Bitches Brew' period.
But when bassist Jaco Pastorius became a bandmember in 1976, Weather Report entered their most popular phase including the release of 'Black Market'.
This sixth album is influenced greatly by African music. Combined with jazz we could describe this genre as world fusion.1. BLACK MARKET 06:30

Black Beauty, the never-before-released masterpiece by Arthur Lee's legendary psychedelic rock band Love, is available on 180-gram vinyl LP. Recorded in 1973 for the ambitious new label Buffalo Records,
the album remained unreleased when the company folded. Finally, after 39 years High Moon Records is honored to fulfill Arthur Lee's wish that Black Beauty be heard by music fans worldwide. Black Beauty is making its first-ever official release
in any format, anywhere! With unparalelled sound and state-of-the-art packaging, critics are hailing Black Beauty as an instant classic. Black Beauty is that rarest of rock artifacts: an unreleased,
full-length studio album, from an undisputed musical
genius. Black Beauty is the missing link in a catalog that includes Forever Changes, the classic 1967 Love album the New York Times called "one of the most affecting and beguiling albums of all time. With Black Beauty, Arthur Lee manages to combine searing 70's-rock with gorgeous melodies and stellar songwriting - topped off by his most distinctive, snarling, soulful vocals ever. With its wonderfully eclectic collection of songs, the
album offers Love fans a rare glimpse into a previously undocumented phase of Arthur Lee's fabled career, while shining a light for new fans to discover the unique genius that is the music of Arthur Lee and Love.
It's tempting to play what-if with Love's lost labor, Black Beauty, which was recorded in 1973 but shelved for nearly four decades. What if Buffalo Records hadn't gone out of business just prior to the album's release? What if Black Beauty had actually hit stores? What if it hadn't languished in limbo until years after Arthur Lee's death? Would it have stopped Love's slide into obscurity? Would it have signaled a comeback for the man who masterminded Forever Changes, still one of the most complex and compelling artifacts of 1960s Los Angeles? Would his life and career have played out any differently? Would we think of him today as something other than a cult artist, inspired as well as damned by his era?
It's difficult to imagine any answers to those questions, but it says a lot about Lee that the album even raises these what-ifs and coulda-beens. The very qualities that made him such a fascinating voice-- restlessness, excitability, paranoia, perfectionism, single-mindedness-- may have doomed any commercial prospects more than his notorious fear of travel ever did. After recording Forever Changes, he fired the band and hired new musicians to take their places. Every subsequent album featured a different line-up, although the changes seem based more on personality than on musical direction or ability. Never stagnant, Love was in constant flux, always in a state of development but never quite arriving. So the operative question becomes: Was this the version of Love that Lee had been working toward?
For Black Beauty-- which is finally seeing release via High Moon Records, although the reissue has been delayed for two years-- Lee assembled guitarist Melvan Whittington, bass player Robert Rozelle, and drummer Joe Blocker. This may be the hardiest and most muscular of Love's post-Changes rosters, with remarkable force and range. With crisp production by Paul Rothchild, best known for his work with the Doors, Love build from a potent blues rock foundation not dissimilar to that of Jimi Hendrix, but without the distracting shamanistic persona and guitar pyrotechnics. "Walk Right In" struts into country rock territory, rewriting Cannon's Jug Stompers 1929 hit into a plea for empathy, and "Beep Beep" attempts a sort of pop reggae, albeit not entirely convincingly.
On the whole, this particular line-up sounds perfectly rough and unrehearsed, generating a tense energy on "Skid" and "Stay Away" even as they suggest a band still figuring out exactly what they can do together. It's a strong album, but it's not another Forever Changes, whose accomplishments in retrospect were unrepeatable, or even another Four Sail. On the other hand, Lee wasn't aiming to craft something in that vein. Still, especially considering the professional setbacks he had faced in the years leading up to Black Beauty-- which includes being dropped by Elektra and shuffling through a series of independent labels-- Lee sounds engaged and invigorated, forgoing the bitterness that had rankled the band for a slightly more hopeful outlook. On stand-out "Can't Find It", he sings, "Every time I cry my heart out, and every time I play the fool, but there's gotta be something in this lonely world for me." The confession is all the more bittersweet for being capped with the line, "but I can't find it without you." It's ostensibly a love song, but could just as easily be addressed to his audience. His creative satisfaction relies on having a listener to complete the circuit, which makes this album's long shelf life all the sadder.

The Black Market"There's a lot of raw emotion on this record," begins Rise Against singer and guitarist Tim McIlrath as he describes the Chicago punks' highly anticipated
and searing new album, The Black Market on Interscope Records. "It's a raw nerve," he clarifies, "it's going to be a hard thing to ignore."
These words should not be taken lightly. After 15 years, and six incendiary albums, Rise Against have become one of the most successful, challenging
and revered punk rock bands on the planet. While selling four million albums globally across their last four releases - with 2011's Endgame debuting at
number one in Germany and Canada, and number two on the U.S. Billboard charts - they've also always adhered to the idea of music as a vehicle for
change. In doing so, they've appeared alongside superstars like Adele and Sting on Amnesty International's Chimes Of Freedom - The Songs Of Bob
Dylan compilation in 2012, toured with Rage Against The Machine's iconic guitarist Tom Morello, campaigned against gun violence with the Demand A
Plan organization and advocated the Make It Stop campaign's attempt to raise awareness of LBGT teen suicides and bullying, working closely with "It
Gets Better." It's important to keep this rich heritage of protest in mind when discussing The Black Market.
On the one hand, The Black Market was forged like other Rise Against records. Tim McIlrath, bassist Joe Principe, guitarist Zach Blair and drummer
Brandon Barnes recorded it between January and March, 2014, at the Blasting Room Studios, with long-time producers Bill Stevenson and Jason
Livermore. But something was different this time around.
The Black Market focuses on the cost of self-awareness. "Rise Against has always been a political band, but also a personal band," says Tim. "We've
always had songs that have a foot in both worlds. This album is a lot more introspective to me." The intensely melodic strains of "I Don't Want To Be Here
Anymore" is a case in point - riding a huge chorus and speaking of universal themes of entrapment and escape.
The Black Market also marks the maturation of Rise Against's sound. The melodic breadth, the impassioned screaming, scissoring guitars, bubbling
basslines and whipping drums still exist, but other moments have no reference point in their discography.
The Black Market casts Rise Against's relationship with their own music and social struggle in a stark new light. It may be a raw nerve to behold, but's it's
also a magnificent one that will surely be felt across the world. It deserves to be.1. The Great Die-Off

Comprising David DeFeis (vocals, keyboards), Jack Starr (guitar), Joe O`Reilly (bass) and Joey Ayvazian (drums), US rock band Virgin Steele were always likely to appeal to heavy metal purists. Like Manowar, they eschewed any considerations of subtlety in favour of excess - be it in musicianship or stage appearance. The band made its debut for Music For Nations in 1983, the first record to be released on that increasingly dominant independent, with a self-titled collection that established their modus operandi. It also brought them considerable acclaim in the heavy metal press. Over subsequent albums, however, Virgin Steele became subject to internal rifts, with Jack Starr opting for a solo career in 1984.LP 1

Black Rose: A Rock Legend (Awaiting Repress)Recorded in 1979 as a follow-up to their mega successful Live And Dangerous, Phil Lynott, Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and new guitar sensation Gary Moore forged ahead once again with their trademark hard rock sound and continued their assault on audiences worldwide with Black Rose: A Rock Legend.
With the powerful drum entrance of Brian Downey, the opener Do Anything You Want To kicks the album into full gear. Featuring the dual lead guitars of Scott Gorham and Gary Moore, known for creating some of the finest and most familiar guitar riffs in music history, they continue their legendary style with this metal anthem. Phil Lynott's vocal and bass attack notched up another career defining song as well, which served the band well for years and has truly been one of their most revered tunes.
Seven more incredible performances from these rock and roll warriors continue to thrill the listener including more Phil Lynott hard rock classics like Waiting For An Alibi and the stellar With Love. More rockers flow like the funk infused Got To Give It Up and the punk metal feel of Toughest Street In Town. Even the heartwarming ballad My Sarah, which showcases a softer side of Lynott's writing and vocal ability, truly made this album a fan favorite for years to come. The incredible album closer Rosin Dubh (Black Rose) A Rock Legend truly emphasizes the band's love for their homeland of Ireland and pays tribute to their heritage in a hard rock Celtic performance never to be duplicated on wax ever again.
Tragically, we lost the musical genius Phil Lynott in 1986 and more recently the passing of guitar legend Gary Moore. This was their first collaboration together as members of Thin Lizzy, and with the impeccable musicianship of Scott Gorham and Brian Downey all delivering the goods, Black Rose: A Rock Legend is considered one of their greatest achievements in their enduring album catalog.
Mastered impeccably from the original Warner Music tapes by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and Capitol Records in Hollywood with Ron McMaster, Friday Music is very honored and enthusiastic to welcome back the much heralded Thin Lizzy classic Black Rose: A Rock Legend for the first time on 180g audiophile vinyl in North America.
To make this more of a treasure for your limited edition Thin Lizzy collection, Friday is also including a first time gatefold cover which features the original album cover art as well as the original photos and artwork included in the album inner sleeve not seen in years. Condolences (Gray w/Black Splatter)Pressed On Gray Vinyl With Black Splatter
A grimly glamorous ghoul who first slithered from the cobwebbed shadows of Charlotte, North Carolina, in the early 90s, WEDNESDAY 13 has firmly established himself as the world's premier purveyor of balls-out horror punk insanity. With a vivid and vile imagination that has endeared him to countless fans of riff-driven macabre over the last two decades, he has been one of rock's most prolific protagonists, spreading his credo of grave-robbing rock 'n' roll and Hallowe'en debauchery around the globe and unleashing a seemingly endless stream of blood-spattered albums and EPs.
"All my favorite stuff, like KISS and ALICE COOPER and TWISTED SISTER, those guys set the bar pretty high," he states. "I always wanted to do something in the worlds of those bands. That's the blueprint. It had to be as outrageous and crazy as that and I wanted to be on someone's wall one day and have their parents say 'Oh my god, what is that?' The formula's still there from when I started doing it as a kid and started wanting to be in a band. It's just GI Joe and Dracula!"
After several years of sharpening his creative teeth, WEDNESDAY 13 emerged from the fetid crypt of obscurity with his band FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS FROM PLANET 13, those masters of snotty schlock rock that released an astonishing five studio albums and six EPs between 1996 and 2002. Always the leader of the revolting pack, WEDNESDAY 13 then became a bona fide international rock star as frontman for the MURDERDOLLS, his collaboration with SLIPKNOT's Joey Jordison. The band took the world by storm, with Europe and the UK, in particular, succumbing to the feral charms of 2002 debut album, »Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls«; a raucous eruption of big tunes and bad attitude that noisily redefined the horror punk genre. After MURDERDOLLS went on an extended hiatus in 2004, WEDNESDAY 13 embarked on a widely lauded solo career that again provided him with an outlet for his relentless outpouring of fiendish musical and lyrical ideas. Albums like »Transylvania 90210« (released by Roadrunner in 2005), »Fang Bang« and »Skeletons« all cemented our pallid hero's reputation as the bastard son of ALICE COOPER and THE MISFITS, while his outlaw country project, BOURBON CROW and one-off glam metal vehicle, GUNFIRE 76 proved that he had sufficient versatility to survive outside the graveyard and abattoir.
MURDERDOLLS reconvened in 2010 for the vicious »Women And Children Last« album and another successful world tour before disappearing once more into the freezing midnight fog, leaving WEDNESDAY to revive his solo career with a few thousand volts of wicked electricity yet more highly praised albums and tours including 2014's scintillating acoustic opus »Undead Unplugged« and the following year's thunderous »Monsters Of The Universe: Come Out & Plague«. However, absolutely nothing that WEDNESDAY has created in the past has even touched upon the horrifying potency and allure of his brand new studio album, »Condolences«.
Frustrated with the arduous process of releasing his own music, our favorite black-hearted freak has thrown himself and his music into a whirling maelstrom of reinvention. The result is not just the heaviest and most authentically disturbing record of the great man's career but also a huge creative leap forward, neatly encapsulated by the new album's simple and direct title.
"It's more of a serious WEDNESDAY 13 record, I guess," he says. "The campiness has gone and it's taken a darker vibe. It's definitely not in the camp, sleazy world anymore. The band is visually stronger and that's taken things to a new level. Normally my album titles are parodies of something, like »Women And Children Last«, that's a VAN HALEN album title gone wrong! (laughs) So I wanted to make sure that this record came across as a brand new version of WEDNESDAY 13."
In musical terms, »Condolences« showcases WEDNESDAY's growing obsession with the world of heavy metal and its endless possibilities for exploring tales of horror and violence. Produced by renowned studio guru Zeuss, new songs like anthemic first single 'What The Night Brings' and the pile-driving 'Blood Sick' still exhibit a dash of B-movie weirdness and are full of WEDNESDAY's trademark twisted lyrics, but where previous albums were rooted in the worlds of punk rock and glam metal, »Condolences« is a full-on modern metal record with gigantic balls and the attitude to match. From the glowering menace of 'Good Riddance' to the grandiose hellishness of the album's 7-minute title track, it's living, breathing, murdering proof that the WEDNESDAY 13 of 2017 means business. And business is mean.
"The punk rock vibe has left the building and it's become a full-on metal vibe," WEDNESDAY agrees. "I've been the horror-punk guy for years, but this is horror metal. It's just evolution. Over the last ten years, I've become a metalhead for the most part. That second MURDERDOLLS record just amped the whole thing up, and the guys in the band have influenced me with so much other stuff. It's not just me with my SEX PISTOLS, ALICE COOPER and RAMONES records anymore! (laughs) Now I've got my band incorporating everything from death metal to rock'n'roll. It's all across the boards. There are no rules. We can do whatever we want, whatever fits."
Manifestly the strongest, heaviest and most individual album of his lengthy career, »Condolences« promises to push WEDNESDAY 13 into heavy music's upper echelons once again. With determined plans to tour relentlessly in support of the new record, the future is looking dark, dangerous, exhilarating and wildly, unapologetically theatrical.
"It's non-stop touring once the record comes out," WEDNESDAY concludes. "We just did our first video for 'What The Night Brings' and the visuals are really cool. I've incorporated a lot of stuff I've been doing live, like this devil character I've been transforming into at shows, and that got worked in. We're taking the music, the imagery and the entire stage show up a level. It's gonna be a full-on theatrical stage production, so I'll be busy as fuck on stage! I've been doing this shit for so many years, I started thinking 'How can I make this fun again?' (laughs)"1. Last Rites

Live at Carnegie Hall - An Acoustic EveningOn January 21st and 22nd of 2016, world-renowned platinum-selling and Grammy nominated Blues-rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Joe Bonamassa performed two unique all-acoustic shows at the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York City. Both performances were filmed and made into Joe Bonamassa Live At Carnegie Hall An Acoustic Evening. An evening of extraordinary music with new arrangements of favorite songs as well as brand new, never-before-heard songs on rich vinyl. The 3-LP set is on 180g black vinyl housed in a deluxe, tri-fold package.
The concert was part of a special all-acoustic tour and featured an all-star ensemble of world-class musicians. Acclaimed Chinese cellist and erhuist Tina Guo, whose repertoire stretches from classical to heavy metal; and Hossam Ramzy, the Egyptian percussionist and composer, who has performed on dozens of film soundtracks and records, including on Jimmy Page and Robert Plant's No Quarter: Unledded Tour. Reese Wynans (piano), Anton Fig (Drums) Eric Bazilian (mandolin, hurdy-gurdy, saxophone, acoustic guitar, vocals), and three Australian backing vocalists, Mahalia Barnes, Juanita Tippins, and Gary Pinto round out the band.
Everyone knows the old saying about how to get to Carnegie Hall, but Bonamassa has truly lived that advice. His entire life and musical career had been practice for this moment, and a young blues-boy finally made good on a childhood dream of playing one of the most hallowed stages in the world. This stripped-down, all-acoustic show allowed his fans a glimpse into his soul and presented a thrilling and musically dangerous spectacle akin to walking a tightrope without a net.LP 1

LION-PRO-M36376xBeth Hart & Joe Bonamassa
Seesaw reunites force-of-nature blues-rock vocalist Beth Hart and guitar hero Joe Bonamassa for a second album of choice covers from various musical eras. As with their first outing, Don't Explain, the project is in collaboration with producer Kevin Shirley (Joe Bonamassa, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Black Crowes). Each of the three principals suggested and selected tracks for the 11-song set list, which mines soulful classics previously made famous by Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Billie Holiday, Donnie Hathaway, Lucinda Williams, Buddy Miles, Tina Turner, Slackwax, Melody Gardot, and Nina Simone.
The one-two punch of Hart's powerhouse vocals and Bonamassa's scorching solos both honors and reinvents the original recordings. They are backed by the same world class band that kept the grooves going on Don't Explain: Anton Fig (drums, percussion), Carmine Rojas (bass), Blondie Chaplin (rhythm guitar, backing vocals and percussion), Arlan Schierbaum (organ, piano). This time out, their mighty sound is augmented by a horn section, with Lee Thornburg on trumpets and trombones, and Ron Dziubla on saxophones.
For Hart and Bonamassa, making music together grew out of the friendship and mutual artistic appreciation they developed after crossing paths on the road numerous times, particularly on the festival circuit in Europe. Bonamassa wanted to do a project with her, and came up with the idea for a soul covers record. Shirley, who's produced 12 of Bonamassa's albums, was enthusiastic, and Bonamassa contacted Hart. "When I got the call that he wanted to do a soul record with me, I figured I'd be the background singer. He said 'no, you're singing lead.'" The chemistry clicked, and Don't Explain was released in 2011, followed now by 2013's Seesaw-in between, both Hart and Bonamassa have toured, recorded solo albums, and reached new career highs.
"What's so cool about these projects is that when Joe and Beth enter the studio, he comes in as a guitar player, and she comes in as a singer," says Shirley. "They're getting together just to play fun music, sing some favorite songs, without the pressure of career issues they might have on solo projects. The point is to pick up and celebrate songs that didn't get their due in the day, and to pay homage to ones that were truly classics. The vibe this time is more upbeat than on Don't Explain, lots of big band horns."1. Them There Eyes
