Black Rebel Motorcycle Club'
Black Rebel Motorcycle ClubImport
Includes 4 Bonus Tracks
When Black Rebel Motorcycle Club released their self titled-debut album in 2001, they immediately made an impact on the music scene. The self-produced debut album was praised as a group's cohesive, solid production overall. The American rock band from San Francisco is influenced by bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Led Zeppelin, The Verve, The Velvet Underground and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
From the album opener Love Burns to the ultra-fine space pop of Too Real to the track Spread Your Love, which was used in the film A Man Apart and features in the TV show Skins, B.R.M.C. is a very impressive debut. The re-issue of the album contains 4 bonus tracks, which weren't released on the original vinyl version. The fourth side of the 2 LP set contains a beautiful etch.LP1

Songs Of PatienceThe title of Alberta Cross' new studio album, Songs of Patience is, in many ways, literal. It's been three long years since the band last released a full-length album. The highs and lows of their journey raised a grander set of ideas, infusing the 10-song set's title with additional universal meaning.
After touring extensively on their debut, Broken Side of Time, with bands like Them Crooked Vultures, Oasis, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and stopping at festivals like Bonnaroo and Sasquatch, Alberta Cross headed to an old, abandoned house in the middle of nowhere near Woodstock, NY. There, they braved the freezing winter and embraced a sense of the building's haunted past to envision ideas for a new records.
In the end, the record is the sum of three years' worth of parts, a struggle that concluded in victory. Three difference producers: Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes, My Morning Jacket), Mike Daly (Whiskeytown, Young the Giant) and Claudius Mittendorfer (Muse, Interpol). It opens new possibilities for the band's visceral live show, a notable facet of the group defined by their raucous, gritty onstage performances that swell the tracks into bigger, more expansive versions of themselves. Song of Patience has also, in many ways, become a decided source of inspiration for the band members, one they hope magnifies the personal battles and upsides of their fans.1. Magnolia

A Tribute To Michael BeenFeat. Robert Levon Been Of B.R.M.C.
Robert Levon Been of Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club pays tribute to his late father's music with an unforgettable live performance leading his father's
legendary band The Call. Starting with their self-titled 1982 debut, The Call gained acclaim from countless critics and had their music hailed as "uncompromising," "urgent,"
"bristling," and even "apocalyptic." Those in the know- from Spin to New Musical Express-have extolled The Call for the depth of their material and the
passion with which it's performed. "If there is any justice," wrote the Philadelphia Daily News in the band's earliest days, "The Call will soon be heard and
celebrated 'round the world as the best new rock band of the '80s."
Over the next eight years, The Call would release seven heavily praised albums and earn considerable airplay with iconic hits songs like "Let The Day
Begin" and "I Still Believe (Great Design)." After a seven-year break, the band reformed in 1997 to record To Heaven & Back which had a limited release.
The Call then disbanded, paving the way for Been to begin serving as sound engineer for his son Robert Levon Been's band Black Rebel Motorcycle
Club. But while working with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at the 2010 Pukkelpop festival in Belgium, Been suffered a heart attack and passed away
Now The Call have captured an incredible live performance, for the first time in over 20 years, with Robert taking over his father's role. He joins drummer
Scott Musick, guitarist Tom Ferrier, and keyboardist Jim Goodwin at The Troubadour in Los Angeles for this historic and electrifying event. In addition to
delivering passionate lead vocals, Robert played his father's signature fretless bass guitar (which had been stolen but returned in time for the event). The
musical connection that was created is seamless, and all the crowd's expectations were exceeded. For Robert-who grew up going out on the road with The Call anytime he had a break from school-the performance offered the chance to honor his musical legacy and perform nearly a dozen and a half songs from the band's esteemed catalog. And for the original members, the show allowed the opportunity to move forward with the band while preserving the solidarity that Been very much treasured as the founder of The Call.
"That's something I've wanted since I was 16 years old, when I heard The Band for the first time," Been once said of the band's uncommon cohesiveness. "When that happens-that chemistry between people-it's incredibly satisfying To know that we've done this together is what makes it all worthwhile."1. Everywhere I Go

This West Coast threesome is shaking up airwaves and heartstrings with rather flattering comparisons to Jesus and Mary Chain, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and the Stone Roses. - NYLON

In The WildernessStranger Cat is the new project from Cat Martino, Sufjan Stevens' right hand woman for
the Age of Adz tour and record, as well as All Delighted People. Cat was also a recording
and touring member of Sharon Van Etten's band circa Epic. She appeared with The Shins
on SNL and Williamsburg Park, played in Passion Pit at Governor's Ball, and sings on the
Son Lux record Lanterns. She has had the pleasure to support Indians, Night Beds, Rufus
Wainwright, Marissa Nadler, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Patrick Watson.
Cat retreated from Brooklyn, NY to winter in the Sierra Foothills to write and record
songs emerging from loops using her voice, synths, and percussion. With her pedal chain
and gear in a small cottage she explored the gamut from ethereal to turbulence. Simple
melodies or beats became powerful walls of sound melting through snowstorms, howling
winds and stark silence nestled inside gargantuan oaks and the infinite starry dome.
Joined by Sven Britt for a week, each of them traded making beats, or melodic parts on
casios, synths, guitars, branches and spoons, while the other recorded. Often a cat would
come to the door to listen, meowing to be let in. When it appeared daily they called it
Stranger Cat, and observed its alien supernatural powers, as she'd heard tell of the
Foothills' long history of UFO sightings and ghost haunts. One day they let Stranger Cat
in. The plump feline ate all the kitty food and left.
