    Low Country Blues

    Produced by T-Bone Burnett

Band Features Dr. John, Jay Bellerose, Doyle Bramhall II

Legendary Singer Interprets Classic Blues Songs by Likes of Muddy Waters and Magic Sam

As a founding member of the one and only Allman Brothers Band and in his own storied solo career, Gregg Allman has long been a gifted natural interpreter of the blues, his soulful and distinctive voice one of the defining sounds in the history of American music. Low Country Blues marks the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Famer's seventh solo recording and first in more than 13 years. Produced by T Bone Burnett, the album finds Allman putting his own stamp on songs by some of the blues giants whose work has long informed his own, from Muddy Waters and BB King to Buddy Guy and Magic Sam. Named for the coastal Georgia region Allman calls home, Low Country Blues stands as a high water mark in an already remarkable body of work, rich with passion, verve, and the unerring confidence of a true survivor.

Though Allman has been a constant presence on the road over the past decade, with the Allman Brothers Band as well as with his own crack combo, he has spent precious little time in the studio since the 2002 death of producer Tom Dowd - the man behind the glass for much of his recorded career. So when his manager suggested he veer off from a 2009 tour for a Memphis meeting with the multiple Grammy Award-winning Burnett, Allman admits to being not entirely enthused.

I said, 'Oh man, I don't wanna start meeting a string of dudes, all of 'em trying to outdo the other one, he recalls. But we stopped in Memphis and here comes T Bone. The first sentence out of his mouth was something like, 'Tommy Dowd was The Man, wasn't he? I've patterned a lot of my stuff after that gentleman.' I thought, 'Right, what've we got here?'

The two musicians quickly bonded, chatting about favorite records, mutual friends, and reminiscences of Nashville's renowned clear channel station, WLAC, which introduced rhythm & blues music to a generation of late night listeners from New York to Miami. He told me some guy gave him a hard drive, it has 10,000 obscure blues songs, Allman says. He says, 'I'm gonna pick out twenty of 'em and send 'em to ya and you tell me what you think.' He said, 'They're old, like Billie Holliday old, and when you listen to 'em, I want you to think about us gettin' in there and about bringin' 'em up to today.'

Allman found the idea irresistible and in January 2010, a stunning combo was assembled at Los Angeles' The Village Recorder, comprising Burnett and Doyle Bramhall II on guitars, backed by the brilliant rhythm section of upright bassist Dennis Crouch and drummer Jay Bellerose. What's more, the lineup included a brass section arranged and conducted by trumpeter Darrell Leonard, whose illustrious resume extends back to his work with Delaney Bonnie & Friends (featuring Gregg's late, great brother Duane). As if that weren't enough, sitting in on piano was a dear old friend, the Night Tripper himself, Mac Dr. John Rebennack, with whom Allman co-wrote Let This Be A Lesson To Ya' on the Gregg Allman Band's 1977 classic, Playin' Up A Storm.

This powerhouse band - which of course also features Gregg's own acoustic guitar expertise and trademark Hammond B-3 organ - cooks up an earthy and atmospheric musical stew infused with gritty R&B muscle, spooky Southern psychedelia, and greasy deep soul grooves.

Like any genuine bluesman, Allman's own life has been colored by myriad triumphs and too many tragedies. Low Country Blues was initially slated for a mid-2010 release, but that plan changed when Gregg, who had long battled chronic Hepatitis C, was notified that he was a candidate for a liver transplant. In June 2010, he entered the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida where he successfully underwent the difficult surgery. Knowing that he had only just made one of the defining albums of his recorded career proved to be the best medicine, giving Allman the inner strength he needed to fully heal.

    Rock 'n Roll Blues

Luther Dickinson enters a new phase of his storied musical
career with his rollicking and raw new solo album, Rock 'n
Roll Blues. From the propulsive beat and unbridled sound of
opener Vandalize, to the insanely catchy Bar Band, it's clear this
is a unique chapter in the acclaimed Southern musician's
songbook. More informed by a youth spent listening to punk rock
than the blues and boogie rock of his revered band North Mississippi
Allstars, the record consists mostly of acoustic guitar, stand up
bass and drums and although not punk in sound, it is in spirit and
the DIY ethos. In essence, an autobiography set to music, the
10-track LP traces Luther's journey from excitable teen to
tour-van vet and offers a side of himself seldom seen before.

The son of the late great producer and musician Jim Dickinson,
Luther made his recording debut at age 14 and has recorded
with a who's who of musicians including The Replacements,
Beck, Jon Spencer, John Hiatt, Levon Helm, Mavis Staples,
Ry Cooder and Patty Grifffin. He is the lead guitarist and vocalist
for the North Mississippi Allstars and widely known as both a
talented musician and producer with four Grammy® nominations
to prove it - three in the contemporary blues category and one in
    traditional folk.

Experience Hendrix LLC & Legacy Recordings Continues Monumental 2010 Jimi Hendrix Catalog Project With Second Wave of Audiophile Vinyl Reissues

Lacquers Cut from the Original Tapes at Sterling Sound by Iconic Engineer George Marino Under the Supervision of Eddie Kramer

Pressed and Plated at RTI: Amazing Analog Sound Betters All Prior Vinyl and Digital Editions

Hear Hendrix Propel the 12-Bar Blues Into the Future: 11 Extraordinary Songs Recorded Between 1966 and 1970

Originally released in 1994, the Jimi Hendrix Blues album features 11 blues performances recorded by Hendrix between 1966 and 1970 showcasing the guitarist's mastery of the 12-bar form. This double-LP audiophile edition of Blues is arguably the best packaged, richest sounding, most coherent post-mortem release from the Hendrix archives.

Framed by his poignant 1967 acoustic 12-string rendition of Hear My Train 'A Comin' and a stirring 1970 trio performance, these 11 rough and ready tracks illustrate Hendrix's deep spiritual connections to his blues roots and his daring experimental take on the shape of future blues to come. And they've never sounded so vital, necessary, or dynamic.

Cut from the original tapes at Sterling Sound by iconic engineer George Marino under the supervision of Eddie Kramer, and pressed and plated at RTI, this 2LP version will forever stand as the definitive-sounding, high-performance edition of this historic document. You know Hendrix and Co.'s penchant for thrusting the blues into new dimensions. Now experience it like never before.

Jimi's music is as alive today as it was 40 years ago, and the success of our most recent releases with Sony Legacy provides thrilling confirmation. We have long maintained that the power of Jimi's music and the power of his message would stand the test of time and provide its own bridge to the future, said Janie Hendrix, CEO of Experience Hendrix LLC.

Being partnered with Legacy enables us to reach a more global audience with that message. And the best is yet to come. What we have in store will propel Jimi into a new decade, with unseen footage and unheard versions of his songs that will absolutely amaze today's music lovers. And we're confident that the distribution is in good hands, opening the door to new and fresh markets. The focus of our endeavors is, and always will be, all about Jimi's music.

    Electro-Shock Blues

Electro-Shock Blues is the second studio album by alternative rock band Eels. Electro-Shock Blues was written
largely in response to front man Mark Oliver Everett's (more commonly known as E) sister's suicide and his mother's terminal lung cancer. Though much of the album is, on its surface, bleak, its underlying message is that of coping with some of life's most difficult occurrences.

    Your Blues

Your Blues is a stunning collection of songs and craftsmanship. Bombastic and bold at times, quiet and
soothing at others, Your Blues has an almost theatrical quality that informs the compositions. Originally released on CD in 2004, Destroyer's sixth studio album is now widely available on vinyl, as the December installment in the Merge25 reissue series.

Recorded with the production duo JC/DC (aka David Carswell and John Collins) -- who aided in the creation of
Destroyer's first three discs -- Dan Bejar ditches the band format he used for 2002's This Night with tremendous results. Fusing a dramatic vocal style akin to that of David Bowie in the 1970s with 1980s studio achievers like Microdisney and Prefab Sprout, Your Blues is regularly breathtaking.

    Decimation Blues

"Raposa's lived in San Diego and Portland and New York and probably some other places, too. He's got friends and family and history. He's got a record label and a musical
career, but for a little while, he let that all go and hid out in the Nevada desert, where I've never been, but don't imagine to be the most positive place to hang out. He did it
because he wanted to. Maybe he needed to. To make something great, sometimes it's worth just giving up." - Stereogum

The world is loud. The wind blows hard. We need songs for shelter, and Raymond Raposa can build a shelter from almost anything: the sun-bleached bones of a drum track and a couple spare organ chords; a carpet of creeping synth arpeggios, a scaffolding of multi-tracked harmonies, a few scraps of alto sax to prop up the whole structure. Decimation Blues, Raposa's sixth release as Castanets,
marks a decade of scavenger architecture.

Decimation Blues sees Raposa stepping out in front of the hermetic persona he's crafted over ten years. There have always been shards of pop songs glinting in the dark corners of Castanets records. Here we get whole gleaming edifices. Decimation Blues is the music of a man who's learned to live and build among the wreckage-twelve seemingly offhand, secretly meticulous tracks that we can hunker down in. "Still always good to be alone in someone else's home," Raposa sings. He'll lend us his place, or teach us how to fix up our own. Come in out of the rain, put your shoes by the fire. The walls might shake, the wind might howl, but you'll be safe here a while.

Ohio based metalcore unit The Devil Wears Prada have just confirmed the upcoming release of what will be their sixth full-length studio album, titled 'Transit Blues'. The record is set for release via Rise Records, and follows up last year's 'Space' EP.

Speaking of the meaning behind the record and its title, frontman Mike Hranica explained, "It's like zooming out on a commute. It's the notion of getting from one place to another. Most people go from their homes to work, while we go from date to date on tour. Either way, it's the inevitable process of growth and change. There are moments of anger, but the pervading theme is separation. Drawing the full circle, it is separation that is inherent in moving from one place to another."

Ranked 30/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

This is a really wonderful album; Joni just laid it all out there for the world to hear. I feel this new version is the true giant killer. Parts were cut, plated and pressed at RTI and the actual 1971 Reprise master tape was used in disk cutting. Most of the songs on this vinyl version were cut without ANY equalization at all so this will be the closest you will ever get to the sound of the true master tape!

When you count out the original Blues men from the United States, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band is arguably the finest example of raw Blues essence. With white harmonica player Butterfield at the center, the racially integrated group started as one of the first authentic and genuine Blues combos. They were the real deal - and paved the way for the upcoming Blues music movement in a in time when hit charts were still separated by colour of skin.

Their first and eponymous album from 1965 contains a mix of electric Chicago style Blues and Rock & Roll: raw, brazen and powerful, beautifully weaved together by Butterfields harmonica and scorching vocals. And more to their credit: the Paul Butterfield Blues Band single-handedly helped introduce more white listeners to the band's influences, such as Muddy Waters and B.B. King.

    Universal Breakdown Blues

Universal Breakdown Blues is a modern urban blues/rock offering that reflects the soul of blues mastermind Popa Chubby. The album features 12 brand new tracks that capture the fire and energy of his live shows. It represents an entirely new level of his tempestuous, soulful playing. Popa puts it all into the simple language of music and invites us all to the party!

'This is the blues now. It's the people's blues. The blues belongs to the people and I get to sing it. If there's one thing I want people to know about me, it's that I'm a survivor, says Popa Chubby. 'Here's my story: My dad died when I was seven. I was abandoned and raised myself. I moved to New York City when I was 18 and started playing music. I got a huge heroin habit and ended up strung out on the streets until I was in my early twenties. I started playing again and got away from drugs and never went back, and then I got into the New York blues scene of the early '90s, and here I am today.'

Universal Breakdown Blues is a monumental blues album fueled by the veteran Popa Chubby.

    Blues and Beyond

Housed in an awesome double gatefold "AxeWax" vinyl, Blues And Beyond features a number of Gary Moore's blues studio recordings, most of which have never appeared on vinyl.

Best known for his evocative solo hits, "Parisienne Walkways" and
"Still Got the Blues" (live versions feature in this set), and his on/
off membership of Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore's solo career comprises
over twenty albums. Throughout the 1980s, Gary moved up the rock
hierarchy, but turned his back on what he regarded as the empty
flash of metal and reverted to his heart music-the blues-where
ironically he scored his biggest commercial success through his
    1990s and 2000s blues albums.

As well as running his own bands, during a successful solo career,
Gary mixed with the best that rock and blues could offer, playing
live and on record with George Harrison, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker,
Greg Lake, BB King, Albert King, Albert Collins and many others.
Gary was also the guitarist many looked up to, not just for the
terrifying speed of his fretwork, but for the passion, fire and
    honesty in his playing.

    Briefcase Full Of Blues

Celebrate The New Year With Their Classic # 1 Mega Platinum Debut Album

    First Time Audiophile Vinyl Release

Mastered Impeccably From The Authorized & Original1978 Atlantic Records Tapes By Joe "i Got The Blues" Reagoso

After their phenomenal success on Saturday Night Live and a number of smash comedy movies already in
their resume, John Belushi and Dan Akroyd dove headfirst into their love of soul, blues and r & b and began
the Blues Brothers duo, netting them a number one album, top hit singles, a box office smash and acclaim
from purists and blues lovers from all over with their first LP, Briefcase Full Of Blues.

Recorded in 1978 at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, the late great John Belushi and Dan
Akroyd opened a set before comedian and good friend Steve Martin. To the crowd's amazement, the duo
blasted them a blistering rock 'n' blues performance which was captured on tape for their first album Briefcase
Full Of Blues. They later appeared on SNL and the rest as they say is history, as this stunt became reality in no
time and thus began a short lived but amazing piece of rock and blues history.

Released during the holiday season, the album became a number one smash and netted two smash singles
with the classic nod to the Stax sound with Sam & Dave's "Soul Man" as well as the '50s doo wop
    classic, "Rubber Biscuit."

With a stellar musician lineup of classic R & B and traditional blues purists like Steve Cropper and Duck
Dunn from Booker T. & The M.G.'s, Chess Records sideman to the stars Matt "Guitar " Murphy,
saxophone champion Tom Scott and a handful of New York City's finest on the reeds, rounded out with Paul
Shafer on keys, The Blues Brothers were a force to reckon with as their albums would go on to sell in the
millions making them one of the biggest bands in the late seventies into the eighties.

With a stunning set list of righteous blues and soulful interpretations, this masterpiece is filled with nonstop classics like the hard boppin' opener Hey Bartender, blues belters like Junior Wells' "Messin' With The
Kid" and Big Joe Turner's "Flip Flop Fly," plus southern rockers like Delbert McClinton's "'B" Movie Box Car
    Blues."

In addition to these legendary performances, this unique concert recording yielded more with powerhouses
like the smash I Don't Know, King Floyd's Groove Me, and the blues thriller Shot Gun Blues.

Friday Music is no stranger to the blues. Therefore, it is with much honor to announce the first installment
in our Blues Brothers 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with their brilliant masterwork Briefcase Full Of Blues.

    Rhythm & Blues

Double LP Features Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Gary Clark, Jr., Beth Hart And Aerosmith Members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry And Brad Whitford!

Six-time Grammy Award winner and 2012 Kennedy Center Honoree Buddy Guy releases his studio album, Rhythm & Blues, on RCA Records. The follow-up to his 2010 Grammy Award winning album Living Proof, this double-disc masterpiece features first time studio collaborations with A-list artists Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Gary Clark, Jr., Beth Hart and Aerosmith members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford.

Produced by Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter and longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge (Skin Deep, Living Proof), Rhythm & Blues captures the 76 year-young Guy at the peak of his creativity. Replete with heartfelt vocals, straightforward lyrics and mesmerizing guitar licks, Rhythm & Blues not only exemplifies how blues continues to be the foundation of all genres of today's music, it also illustrates why Guy has been influential in the careers of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more.

The Rhythm disc includes rhythm and blues-style blues with deep grooves, such as the Junior Wells' 1960 hit "Messin With The Kid" featuring Kid Rock, the touching "One Day Away" with Keith Urban, and "What You're Gonna Do About Me," a rousing duet with Beth Hart. Guy rounds out the disc with "Best In Town," "Whiskey Ghost," Guitar Slim's "Well I Done Got Over It" and more.

The Blues disc taps into the genre's rich history with "Meet Me In Chicago," "I Could Die Happy," "Never Gonna Change" and "All That Makes Me Happy Is The Blues." Aerosmith's Tyler, Perry and Whitford contribute to the musical lesson with "Evil Twin" while Gary Clark, Jr. joins Guy on "Blues Don't Care."

In a career that spans nearly 50 years with over 50 albums released, the incomparable Buddy Guy recently added the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors and NARM Chairman's Award for Sustained Creative Achievement to his long list of achievements. Guy is the recipient of 30 awards and accolades, including 6 Grammy Awards, 28 Blues Music Awards (formerly W. C. Handy Awards), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, the first annual Great Performer of Illinois Award, a Billboard Music Awards' Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, the Presidential National Medal of Arts, in addition to being listed as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time by Rolling Stone.

    The Natch'l Blues

Taj Mahal's second album, recorded in the spring and fall of 1968, opens with more stripped-down Delta-style blues in the manner of his debut, but adds a little more amplification (partly courtesy of Al Kooper on organ) before moving into wholly bigger sound on numbers like She Caught The Katy And Left Me A Mule To Ride and The Cuckoo -- the latter, in particular, features crunchy electric and acoustic guitars and Gary Gilmore playing his bass almost like a lead instrument, like a bluesman's answer to John Entwistle. Most notable, however, may be the two original closing numbers, You Don't Miss Your Water ('Til Your Well Runs Dry) and Ain't That A Lot Of Love, which offer Taj Mahal working in the realm of soul and treading onto Otis Redding territory. This is particularly notable on You Don't Miss Your Water, which achieves the intensity of a gospel performance and comes complete with a Stax/Volt-style horn arrangement by Jesse Ed Davis that sounds more like the real thing than the real thing. Ain't That a Lot of Love, by contrast, is driven by a hard electric guitar sound and a relentless bass part that sounds like a more urgent version of the bassline from the Spencer Davis Group's Gimme Some Lovin'. This LP reissue includes a trio of bonus tracks: a faster-paced rendition of The Cuckoo with a more prominent lead guitar, the slow electric lament New Stranger Blues featuring some good mandolin-style playing on the guitar, and the rocking instrumental Things Are Gonna Work Out Fine, which is a killer showcase for Davis' lead electric guitar and Taj Mahal's virtuosity on the harmonica.

    The Apocalypse Blues Revue

In February 2016, Apocalypse Blues Revue entered the Vibe Recording Studio and cut their self-titled debut in just nine days. Co-founded by Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin and guitarist Tony Rombola, and featuring vocalist Ray "Rafer John" Cerbone and bassist Brian Carpenter, the quartet honors blues traditions while etching their stamp on the genre.

Mixed by Dave Fortman, the debut album conjures up swampy soul colored by rock 'n' roll and rockabilly over the course of 11 tracks.

"As far as blues goes, The Apocalypse Blues Revue is a little heavier, a little darker, and has some punk rock attitude in the lyrics," says Shannon. "We wanted to make something deep that will provoke thought. It had to be evil though. We're not trying to make It happy. It's called blues for a reason."

Tony and Shannon's creative union traces back to 2001, when Shannon joined Godsmack. Selling 20 million records worldwide and garnering four Grammy® Award nominations, the juggernaut remains a hard rock institution.

"I want people to walk away with our songs stuck in their heads," Shannon leaves off. "The music speaks for itself on this record." "It's back to basics," concludes Tony.

    I Am The Blues

    Import

Chicago Bluesman Willie Dixon was perhaps best known for his songwriting. He wrote or co-wrote over 500 songs and his songs have been recorded by some of the best-known blues musicians of his era, including Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter, and Buddy Guy.

Later, his songs were popularized by groups, such as The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Cream, and Led Zeppelin, whose Whole Lotta Love was loosely based don Dixon´s You Need Love. On this 1970 LP, the quintessential blues songwriter performs his own tunes - every one a classic: I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man, The Little Red Rooster, Spoonful and of course Back Door Man to name a few!

Long overdue, the album was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1986, whereas Willie Dixon was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
