    Candy Girl

When Maurice Starr uncovered the talents of a Roxbury vocal group in the early '80s at a talent show at Dorchester's storied Strand Theater he saw the second coming of the Jackson 5. The boys didn't win the completion (they came in second) but they did win a deal with Starr & Streetwise records. Starr came up with the name New Edition (as in a new edition of the Jackson 5) and started recording with the boys the day after the talent show at the Strand. This group of kids (all under 15) had their first single "Candy Girl" shoot to #1 on the Billboard R&B Charts. This led them to their debut album, also titled Candy Girl, which had a lot of pop/early hip hop influences, yet still has a classic R&B feel. Other hits such as "Popcorn Love" and "Ohh Girl" and the slow burner of "Is This the End" make this album well rounded and no surprise as to why they went on to become one of the biggest R&B groups ever. The success of New Edition led to Bobby Brown's solo career, the success of Bell Biv DeVoe and served as a template for the "boy bands" that followed. But don't let that last line fool you, this album packs a bite with solid production and hooks for days.

    Ghostbusters II Soundtrack

The Ghostbusters II soundtracks is a great blend of R&B, new jack swing, and rap. Featuring a redone version of Ray Parker, Jr.'s original theme by Run D.M.C., as well as two cuts from Bobby Brown (On Our Own and We're Back) and New Edition's Supernatural, the film's soundtrack is like a time
capsule of radio in the late '80s. Although the film didn't spawn any truly essential songs, the soundtrack makes for a nostalgic journey that fans of the film
(or '80s R&B) will have fun revisiting.

    Sheik Yerbouti

In order to finance his artier excursions, which increasingly required more expensive technology, Frank Zappa recorded several collections of guitar- and song-oriented material in the late '70s and early '80s, which generally concentrated on the bawdy lyrical themes many fans had come to expect and enjoy in concert. Sheik Yerbouti was one of the first and most successful of these albums, garnering attention for such tracks as the Grammy-nominated disco satire Dancin' Fool, the controversial Jewish Princess, and the equally controversial Bobby Brown Goes Down, a song about gay S&M that became a substantial hit in European clubs.

While Zappa's attitude on the latter two tracks was even more politically incorrect than usual for him, it didn't stop the album from becoming his second-highest charting ever. Social satire, leering sexual preoccupations, and tight, melodic songs dominated the rest of the record as well, as Zappa stuck to what had been commercially successful for him in the past.

    The Austin Sessions (Remastered)

In the summer of 1997, Kris Kristofferson spent a few days in Texas recording stripped-down versions of his best-known songs. Released by Atlantic Records in 1999, The Austin Sessions pairs the acclaimed outlaw country songwriter with a band of studio aces and guest harmony vocalists for intimate versions of classics like Me and Bobby McGee, Why Me? and Sunday Morning Coming Down.

Rhino Records celebrates these powerful recordings with a remastered vinyl version of The Austin Sessions.

Kristofferson recorded The Austin Sessions at Arlyn Studios in Texas with a group of session veterans from Los Angeles and Nashville who were hand-picked by Mollin, who also plays acoustic guitar on the album. Kristofferson's longtime touring guitarist Stephen Bruton appears on several songs as well.

Mollin recalls: I knew in my heart that I could pull off a great under-produced production and give Kris the album he always wanted to make: one that felt like it had the uniqueness and rootsy feeling that Dylan accomplished on his early electric albums.

Several guests join Kristofferson on the album, including Jackson Browne (Me And Bobby McGee), Steve Earle (Sunday Morning Coming Down), Vince Gill (Help Me Make It Through The Night), Catie Curtis (Nobody Wins), and Mark Knopfler (Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends).

    Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded

Nicki Minaj is a fast rising Tinidadian-born American hip-hop artist. After releasing three mixtapes between 2007 and 2009, Minaj signed to Young Money Entertainment in 2009. After signing to Lil Wayne's label, Nicki released her debut album, Pink Friday in November of 2010. Pink Friday peaked at #1 on the Billboard 200 and went platinum a month after its original release. Minaj became the first female solo artist to have seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time.

Since the release of her debut, Nicki Minaj has become a true superstar accumulating massive amounts of awards and accolades in the process. Her follow-up album Pink Friday...Roman Reloaded is one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of 2012. Although Pink Friday...Roman Reloaded shares part of its title with its predecessor, the album is a collection of entirely new material including the preceding hit singles Starships, Right By My Side and Beez in the Trap. Features guest appearances from the likes of Cam'ron, Rick Ross, Chainz, Lil Wayne, Nas, Drake, Young Jeezy, Chris Brown, Bobby V and Beenie Man.

I've never had this much fun recording music in my life. My first album I was very guarded. I felt like I was making music to please everyone else. I had to be politically correct, but this album I am just creating music, and there's such a big difference. Literally in the studio we were cracking up laughing, having fun, and enjoying ourselves. The music itself you're going to get every side that I've ever shown and then a little bit extra. I've tried to make it very, very balanced, because I don't ever want to be boxed in, and that's always what drives me. So I made a very diverse album. - Nicki Minaj

Willie And The Boys: Willie's Stash Vol. 2

Legacy Recordings is set to release Willie Nelson and the Boys, the eagerly-awaited second installment in the acclaimed Willie's Stash archival recordings series.

Following in the musical footsteps of 2014's December Day, the first volume in the Willie's Stash series (featuring Willie's Sister Bobbie), Willie Nelson and the Boys is another family collaboration, this time showcasing Willie and sons, Lukas Nelson and Micah Nelson, performing a selection of well-loved American country music standards and classics, including seven penned by the immortal Hank Williams Sr.

The Willie's Stash series will present a variety of archival releases, each personally curated by Willie Nelson, culled from decades of recording and touring, providing unique perspectives on one of America's most vital musical forces.

Consisting mainly of studio recordings laid down during the extraordinary 2011 sessions for Heroes, Willie's Legacy debut, Willie Nelson and the Boys (Willie's Stash, Vol. 2) is produced by Willie's longtime friend and collaborator Grammy-winning Buddy Cannon and recorded by Steve Chadie at Pedernales Recordings Studio in Austin, Texas.

Musicians on the album include Willie Nelson (vocals, Trigger), Lukas Nelson (vocals, electric guitar, resonator guitar), Micah Nelson (vocals), Mickey Raphael (harmonica), Kevin Swine Grantt (bass), Bobby Terry (acoustic guitar, electric guitar), Jim Moose Brown (piano, B-3 organ, Wurlitzer), Mike Johnson (steel guitar), Tony Creasman (drums), Barry Bales (upright bass on My Tears Fall) and Lonnie Wilson (drums on My Tears Fall). Move It On Over featured background vocals by the Spur Of The Moment Singers: Buddy Cannon, Mickey Raphael, Kevin Swine Grantt, Bobby Terry, Jim Moose Brown, Mike Johnson, Tony Creasman, Melonie Cannon, and Shannon Finnegan.

According to Willie, the album is ....kinda like the country version of 'Stardust.' Where you have all these great songs and standards that the young people have never heard, then all of a sudden you have a whole new audience out there.

I really love the live element of this record, said producer Buddy Cannon. There was a fire in the studio during those sessions, especially on these particular tracks. It was as though the band was in a Nashville honky tonk and Willie and Lukas strolled in and jammed with the band for an hour. That's what this record is. It's honest excitement. I've never cut a record before that has this element.... It's a great joy to see Willie, Luke and Micah all equally part of a record that I love so much.

Born in Austin, Texas and raised in Maui, singer/songwriter/guitarist Lukas Nelson entered the music scene as a youngster and, by the age of 13, had joined his father Willie Nelson's band, touring as rhythm guitarist and honing the stagecraft that lead to his own career. Moving to Los Angeles, he launched in own ensemble, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real (POTR) in 2008; POTR served as Neil Young's back-up group on The Monsanto Years album and subsequent tour. Lukas and his father worked together on Willie's 2012 Legacy album, Heroes, which featured a number of father-and-son vocal-and-guitar duets.

Micah Nelson has performed with a variety of artists at events including FarmAid, Neil Young's Bridge-School Benefit, Desert Trip festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Coachella, Bonnaroo Festival as well as on TV shows such as Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and more. Micah has been involved in the ensemble Insects vs. Robots, recorded and toured with Neil Young and made multi-instrumental contributions to the 21st century post-modern American rock band Promise Of The Real. Micah is currently the singer/songwriter/guitarist in his future-folk project Particle Kid.

Willie Nelson and the Boys (Willie's Stash, Vol. 2) is the artist's 10th release since signing to Legacy Recordings in 2012. His last Legacy album, God's Problem Child, was released on April 28, 2017 (the eve of Willie's 84th birthday on April 29) and promptly entered the Billboard Country chart at #1, making it the artist's second US country chart-topper in less than two years; Nelson's 6th Legacy release, Django and Jimmie, an unforgettable musical collaboration with Merle Haggard, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country chart in June 2015.

Exclusively for My Friends - The Lost Tapes (Speakers Corner)

Tears of sorrow mingled with tears of joy as Oscar Peterson fans realized that the keyboard genius who had just recovered his health was still capable of amazing them all, although he had obviously forfeited some of his past vitality. This may well have induced MPS - the label with whom Oscar Petersen himself claimed to have made his best recordings - to search their archives for lost tapes from Peterson's heydey. And lo and behold, a number of previously unreleased recordings were discovered which had been taped "exclusively for my friends" in the private studio in Villingen in 1965-1968.
The electric atmosphere of these live sessions before a mere handful of listeners proves once again just how at home the musicians felt in the Black Forest villa - as is borne out by the fact that Peterson's usual trio formation alternated with his stand-in musicians of Sam Jones on the bass and Bobby Durham on the drums.

And now, exclusively for all jazz fans, these amazing tracks are available for the very first time on an LP filled with glorious sound. Whether long-time collector or jazz newcomer, one thing is certain: this album belongs in every collection!

    Musicians:

    • Oscar Peterson (piano)

    • Ray Brown, Sam Jones (bass)

    About Speakers Corner

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Speakers Corner all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existant tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasise that Speakers Corner Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle. We have one digital recording in our catalogue (Alan Parsons / Eye In The Sky"), but even in this particular case we used the analogue tapes for cutting.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects - excluding the exception above - and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

    Silent Reign Of Heroes

This Lynyrd Skynyrd-style, blues rock outfit emerged from the US deep south. The name derived from a tale of a woman in seventeenth-century Salem who beheaded her lovers with an axe after sleeping with them. The initial line-up comprised Dave Hlubek (guitar), Steve Holland (guitar), Duane Roland (guitar), Banner Thomas (bass), Danny Joe Brown (vocals) and Bruce Crump (drums). Their 1978 debut album, produced by Tom Werman (of Cheap Trick and Ted Nugent fame), was an instant success, with its three-pronged guitar onslaught and gut-wrenching vocals. The band then achieved a US Top 20 placing with their second album, Flirtin` With Disaster. Brown was replaced by Jimmy Farrar in 1980, before the recording of the band`s third album, Beatin` The Odds. Farrar`s vocals were less distinctive than Brown`s, and an element of their identity was lost during the time that Farrar fronted the band. Nevertheless, commercial success continued, with both Beatin` The Odds and Take No Prisoners peaking on the Billboard album chart at numbers 25 and 36, respectively. In 1982, Danny Joe Brown rejoined the band in place of the departed Farrar, while Thomas and Crump were replaced by Riff West and B.B. Borden respectively. No Guts ... No Glory emerged and marked a return to the band`s roots: explosive guitar duels, heart-stopping vocals and steadfast rock `n` roll. Surprisingly, the album flopped and Hlubek insisted on a radical change in direction. Steve Holland quit and drummer Crump returned, while keyboard player John Galvin (from the Danny Joe Brown Band) was recruited for the recording of The Deed Is Done. This was a lightweight pop rock album, largely devoid of Molly Hatchet`s former trademarks. Following its release, the band retired temporarily to lick their wounds and reassess their future. In 1985, Double Trouble Live was unveiled, with a return to former styles. It included versions of their best-known songs, plus a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute in the form of `Freebird`. Founder member Dave Hlubek subsequently departed, to be replaced by Bobby Ingram. The band signed a new recording contract with Capitol Records and returned with 1989`s Lightning Strikes Twice. This leaned away from their southern roots towards highly polished AOR. Featuring cover versions of Paul Stanley`s `Hide Your Heart` and `There Goes The Neighborhood`, the album was poorly received by fans and critics alike. A number of line-up changes ensued in the early 90s, leaving Brown as the only remaining original member. During this period he was continually plagued by illness as a result of diabetes. and eventually left Molly Hatchet in 1996 as they embarked on another recording comeback. The line-up that recorded Devil`s Canyon comprised Bobby Ingram, John Galvin, Phil McCormack (vocals), Bryan Bassett (guitar), Andy McKinney (bass) and Mac Crawford (drums). The revived band, with additional keyboard player Tim Donovan, then completed 1998`s Silent Reign Of Heroes. Further line-up changes saw mainstays Ingram, Galvin and McCormack joined by a regularly rotating cast list of musicians, as the band continued to tour and record with great success. Original guitarist Hlubek rejoined the line-up in early 2005 shortly before his former colleague Danny Joe Brown succumbed to diabetes.

Blues Traveler are a hippie blues'n'boogie band in the mode of Canned Heat and Savoy Brown. Led by John Popper, a rotund singer and harmonica player, the New Jersey quartet captured the open-ended jam mentality of its live shows on its first two studio albums. On their third album, Save His Soul, Blues Traveler tightens up their arrangements and puts more emphasis on songwriting and premeditated parts. While this cuts down on the meandering solos and monotonous rhythm patterns, it forces attention on the hackneyed aphorisms and melody-starved chord changes that pass for the band's songwriting. On the other hand, they have improved noticeably as players, and bassist Bobby Sheehan shines in particular on the fast and tricky syncopations. --Geoffrey Himes

    Step Back

Blues legend Johnny Winter will release a new studio album, Step Back, via Megaforce Records. The album, the followup to 2011's Roots, will find Winter exploring a more aggressive vintage-blues style.

The album also will feature a host of special guests, including Eric Clapton, Ben Harper, Billy Gibbons, Joe Perry, Dr. John, Leslie West, Brian Setzer and Joe Bonnamassa.

"If there's good people, other good musicians, people enjoy it. I just love it, Winter says. [Step Back] is just to bring it to the people of today who haven't listened to the old music. It's better than anything they hear today.

Produced by Winter's guitarist, Paul Nelson, Step Back opens with "Unchain My Heart," which features Winter and his band joined by the Blues Brothers horns. ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons is featured on "Where Can You Be."

"I never had the opportunity to jam with him [in the Sixties and Seventies]," Gibbons says. "I was content to remain in awe and admiration."

"If it weren't for Johnny Winter, I would have never picked up the guitar," adds Aerosmith's Joe Perry, who joins Winter on Lightnin' Hopkins' "Mojo Hand."

Other highlights include Winter's guitar and vocal trade-offs with Harper on Willie Dixon's "Can't Hold Out (Talk to Me Baby)," Winter and Clapton's rendition of Bobby Bland's "Don't Want No Woman" and Winter and Dr. John honoring Fats Domino with "Blue Monday."

"When you hear that sound come out of that Firebird guitar, you know it can be the one and only Johnny Winter," says Setzer, who is featured on Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown's "Okie Dokie Stomp."

Eccentric Soul: The Way Out Label

Fueled by the financial drippings of number runners
and boosted by Hall-of-Fame running back Jim Brown,
Cleveland, Ohio's Way Out Records offered asylum for a
rising crop of rogue soul men, rust-belt vocal ensembles,
and trial-by-fire producers. Helmed by a friendly
consortium of hustlers, police officers, and gridiron
giants, pet project beget obsession as Motown arrangers,
gospel choirs, and the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra
were all beckoned to the wrong side of the tracks to mint
masterpieces for the Sensations, Volcanic Eruption, the
Exceptional Three, and Bobby Wade, all beneath the
mindful gaze of a wall-mounted shotgun. Reaching their
peak in the late '60s, Eccentric Soul: The Way Out Label
gathers the brightest moments from the quirky operation's
    eleven year bid.

The 3LP configuration boasts a double gatefold with
beautiful photos and ephemera from the label's low-flying
promotional department. For fans of group harmony,
sweet soul, orchestral feats and lo-fi oddities, The Way Out
Label is an excellent addition to our already popular and
    powerful Eccentric Soul series.

    Sweet Summer Sun-Hyde Park Live

This summer, over 100,000 delirious fans packed into Hyde Park for two spectacular outdoor concerts to see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood do what they do best. The Stones delivered a five star performance packed full of hits such as 'Start Me Up', 'Brown Sugar', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Miss You', 'It's Only Rock 'N' Roll', 'Gimme Shelter', 'Doom And Gloom' and 'Sympathy For The Devil', as well as one or two surprises.

Mick Jagger said: "It was a great gig It was beautiful with the sun going down over Hyde Park. I can't think of a better way celebrate the Rolling Stones' 50 than doing it on our home patch in front of 100,000 people on a glorious summer night enjoy it we certainly did."

Keith Richards commented: "Coming back to Hyde Park was like a full circle being drawn, and the band were in top form. We thought what could be more appropriate than having a great summer in London!"

From the second the Rolling Stones stepped out onto the stage each night, through to the dazzling firework and pyrotechnic display that heralded the end of the concert, fans old and new were treated to a non-stop, hit after hit performance, which took them through the Stones' huge back catalogue. Keith Richards wowed the crowds by weaving his charismatic guitar licks with Ronnie Wood's immense solos, Mick Jagger was on spectacular form, his boundless energy on stage matched by a number of stunning outfit changes, and Charlie Watts the unflappable heartbeat of the band, driving the band on through the set.

Former guitarist Mick Taylor - whose live debut with the Stones took place at the original 1969 Hyde Park concert - joined the band on stage to guest on the bluesy 'Midnight Rambler' and on closing track 'Satisfaction', whilst long-term live band members Lisa Fischer, Darryl Jones, Chuck Leavell, Bernard Fowler, Bobby Keys and Tim Ries all added their inimitable flair and finesse.

The Rolling Stones Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live is the perfect way for concert-goers to relive their favourite memories from the gigs, and for their fans to see the band back where they truly belong: live on the stage in their hometown.

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Wild Bill Davis And Johnny Hodges In Atlantic City (Speakers Corner)

In the Sixties, the two befriended musicians Wild Bill Davis and Johnny Hodges often met up for jam sessions, at galas with Duke Ellington, and in various studios to make recordings for several record companies. However, their live concerts in Grace's Little Belmont in Atlantic City in 1966 were the declared highlights for critics, the public and musicians alike. This is not only proved by the masses of people who swarmed to the club, which was always jam-packed, it is also reflected in the sales figures of their recordings.

On the present recording, the listener is offered a first-class programme of own compositions, Duke Ellington hits, and head arrangements. Good Queen Bess and Rockville are quite exceptional, and the other titles are hardly less enthralling. The rhythm group is hotter than hot with Lionel Hampton's Bobby Durham on the drums, and the two grand old men of swing really let themselves go. The trombonist Lawrence Brown, musical buddy from the Duke Ellington Orchestra, grooves in the background and we can be happy (thanks to the producer Rad McCuen!) that we can still thoroughly enjoy this great disc almost 50 years later.

Recording: August 1966 live at Grace's Little Belmont, Atlantic City (USA), by Ed Begley

    Production: Brad McCuen

    Art Blakey!!!!! Jazz Messengers!!!!!

    Import

Art Blakey discovered and championed young talented musicians such as Clifford Brown, Lou Donaldson, Keith Jarrett and Wynton Marsalis to name but a few. But he also delivered the message of hard bop through thousands of performances at festivals right down to the smallest club. Lively, joyous performances, the very highest technical standards and somnambulistic music-making characterize this recording. Right from the very start it is clear that these jazz ambassadors have a new message for us. The hard-beat recordings win in lyricism thanks to the gentle sound of Curtis Fuller's trombone, something that was often missing in the powerful Blue Note sound. Four jazz evergreens give the musicians the time and opportunity to display their soloistic talents. The real climax, however, is to be found in the harmonic layering of the three winds which lend the themes new appeal. The message was broadcasted many times until the death of Art Blakey, but the history of jazz would have been a great deal poorer without these milestone recordings on the Impulse label. Art Blakey certainly knew how to delight his audience with fire, originality, a wealth of ideas and great humor. All these attributes are applicable to the six titles on this album.

    Musicians:

    Lee Morgan (trumpet)

    Curtis Fuller (trombone)

Don't Be Cruel (Out Of Stock)

When Bobby Brown left New Edition at the peak of their fame in 1986 he was staying true
to his rules of "really not giving a damn" and doing what felt right to him. And while his solo
debut King of Stage (1986) wasn't bad, it wasn't what fans were really yearning for -
"Hopefully he just goes back to New Edition" one fan wrote in a 1987 issue of Word Up!
Magazine. Little did we all know by the time King of Stage was dying down he was already
hard at work on the follow up, Don't Be Cruel, and no one was even prepared for what was
    coming.

Don't Be Cruel immediately was a smash hit, to any naysayers this was the punch in the
face, to NE fans this was a game changer, and honestly to many this was their first time even
hearing him. Don't Be Cruel crafted the perfect match of amazing songwriting and the newly
christened New Jack Swing sound that was flooding the streets. Bobby Brown proved why
he was "good to go solo" as he owned each track on this album. The new 'King of R&B" was
here. The albums singles: "Don't Be Cruel", "My Perogative", "Every Little Step" & "Roni"
all were number 1 singles. "Rock Wit'cha" made all other R&B ballads at the time pale in
comparison. The album was one of the best selling albums of the 80's (33 to be exact).
Don't Be Cruel over-exceeded what any R&B fan would expect. The albums producers L.A
Reid, Babyface and Teddy Riley all did outstanding work channeling the right mix for Brown
to finally take center stage. And after 20 + years this album still has a strong hold as the
R&B blueprint for making hit albums.

Stranger Things Vol. 2 (A Netflix Original Series Soundtrack) (Out Of Stock)

    Housed In A Gatefold Sleeve

STRANGER THINGS is the breakout Netflix original series set in 1983 Indiana where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. A love letter to the '80s supernatural classics that captivated a generation, STRANGER THINGS stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Matthew Modine, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton. The series is now streaming on Netflix globally.

Formed in 2009, the prolific Austin, TX experimental synth quartet S U R V I V E have released two full-lengths and numerous EPs / singles since their inception, including recent contributions to the soundtrack for the acclaimed indie horror film The Guest. Additionally, two of the group's members recently scored the soundtrack for the first season of STRANGER THINGS, launched this summer on Netflix. S U R V I V E has appeared at esteemed festivals across the US including Moogfest, Levitation Fest, Fun Fun Fun, Beserktown, Day in The Desert, Decibel, etc. and have played alongside acts like Goblin, John Maus, Tame Impala, Lightning Bolt, This Will Destroy You, A Place To Bury Strangers, Max Cooper, and many others; Noisey even called their live show ''transcendental.''

Now, S U R V I V E have completed self recording their second full length via their home studios, which will see a September 30 via Relapse. The synth quartet's sophomore full length and Relapse debut is a dark, sweeping exercise in analog synth mastery. The pulsating, 9-song instrumental release showcases immense diversity between tracks - RR7349's compositions range from grim tom-tom thunder to space-age epics, pairing tense plodding grooves with meditative ambience and driving, rhythmic beats. Inspired by IDM and horror scores alike, RR7349 is simultaneously ominous and hopeful; tense and relaxed; percussive and melodic. A unique addition to the Relapse discography, and unquestionably S U R V I V E's best work to date.

The first season of STRANGER THINGS is available to stream now on Netflix.

Across 110th Street (40th Anniversary Edition) (Out of Stock)

One of the few surviving links to the pre-Soul/R&B era, Bobby Womack - who was originally discovered as a teenager singing Gospel music by the late Sam Cooke - nowadays enjoys full-blown "Living Legend" status. Blessed with one of the warmest, most readily-identifiable voices in Soul music, he carved out his reputation with a series of classic albums and singles in the early 70s, re-emerging again in the 80s with his career masterpieces, The Poet and The Poet II, the latter achieving platinum status in Europe alone.

This unique package concentrates on the early 70s, and is built around the iconic, award-winning original soundtrack to Across 110th Street (1972), the critically-acclaimed - albeit violent, bloodthirsty and deeply disturbing - Blaxploitation movie which starred Anthony Quinn, Yaphet Kotto and Anthony Franciosa. Perhaps Womack's most celebrated album, this compelling OST remains the most important soundtrack of the genre, the powerful title song later featuring heavily in both Quentin Tarantino's 1997 homage to Blaxploitation, Jackie Brown, and Ridley Scott's 2007 opus, American Gangster.

Womack has enjoyed a long, rich career and still retains a strong cult status in the UK and Europe. He continues to record and tour sporadically and after battling ill-health in recent years, a new album is scheduled for release in June. The album is co-produced by Damon Albarn and Richard Russell, who also produced Gil Scott Heron's acclaimed final album.

And Hell Will Follow Me (Out Of Stock)

    Includes CD

A Pale Horse Named Death is the brainchild of Brooklyn, NY native Sal Abruscato, and sounds like Alice in Chains mysteriously sneaking up behind Type O Negative with a butcher knife while being filmed for a future episode of Law & Order. Sals partner in crime on And Hell Will Follow Me is Matt Brown, sound engineer extraordinaire and guitarist of fellow NY band Seventh Void.

The chemistry between me and Matt is unique and flawless, very rare in todays music. We are the murdering evil version of Lennon and McCartney. says Abruscato. Brown adds, Sal asked me if I would help to take these songs to the next level. I took on this project for my friend, to find some closure in rough times. The music is just an extension of our friendship and our passion for creativity.

The album artwork was done by Sam Shearon aka Mr. Sam, who has previously done work for Rob Zombie, Fear Factory and Cradle of Filth to name a few, and features a 20 page booklet with artwork for each individual song. Additionally, the Double LP version will feature a never before heard bonus track called Pick Up Truck.

To top that all off, Life of Agonys Keith Caputo lent background vocals to four tracks and Lou Reeds saxophonist Ulrich Krieger guests on Die Alone. Bobby Hambel from Biohazard, who also plays with the band live, played the guitar leads on three tunes.

Art Blakey!!!!! Jazz Messengers!!!!! (Out Of Stock)
