    Born To Run

Ranked 18/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Mastered By Bob Ludwig Working Under The Supervision Of Springsteen & Engineer Toby Scott

Bruce Springsteen spent everything he had - patience, energy, studio time, the physical endurance of his E Street Band - to make his masterpiece. There are a dozen guitar overdubs on the title track alone. The album became a monster, Springsteen recalled. But in making his third album, he was living out the central drama in its gun-the-engine rock & roll: the fight to reconcile big dreams with crushing reality. He found it so hard to re-create the sound in his head - the Jersey-bar dynamite of his live gigs, Phil Spector's grandeur, Roy Orbison's melodrama - that he nearly gave up and put out a live album. But his attention to detail produced a timeless record about the labors and glories of aspiring to greatness.

The Album Collection Volume 1 1973-1984

First 7 Albums Recorded & Released For Columbia Records Between 1973 and 1984

Newly Remastered From Original Analogue Masters By Acclaimed Engineer Bob Ludwig

Recreations Of Original Packaging & Accompanied By A 60-Page Book

"Last Thursday, at the Harvard Square theatre, I saw my rock'n'roll past flash before my eyes. And I saw something else: I saw rock and roll future and its name is Bruce Springsteen. And on a night when I needed to feel young, he made me feel like I was hearing music for the very first time." --Jon Landau, The Real Paper, May 22, 1974

Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings will release Bruce Springsteen: The Album Collection Vol. 1 1973-1984, a boxed set comprised of remastered editions of the first seven albums recorded and released by Bruce Springsteen for Columbia Records between 1973 and 1984. All of the albums are newly remastered and all seven are making their remastered debut on vinyl.

The seven albums are recreations of their original packaging and the set is accompanied by a 60-page book featuring rarely-seen photos, memorabilia and original press clippings from Springsteen's first decade as a recording artist.

Acclaimed engineer Bob Ludwig, working with Springsteen and longtime engineer Toby Scott, has remastered these albums, all newly transferred from the original analogue masters using the Plangent Process playback system.

    Fire On The Floor

Beth Hart is on fire. Right now, the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter is riding a creative tidal wave, firing out acclaimed albums, hooking up with the biggest names in music and rocking the house each night with that celebrated burnt-honey voice. In 2016, the headline news is Beth's latest album, Fire On The Floor: a release that even this fiercely self-critical artist describes as "pretty frickin' good".

Fire On The Floor is sure to build on her breakneck momentum. As the singer explains, this latest record gave her an emotional release following the bitter-sweet sessions for Better Than Home. If there's a theme that ties these twelve songs together, it's a sense of escapism following the hardest of times. "We were still in the mixing stages for that album and I knew I had to make another record. Making Better Than Home was so painful, because one of the producers, Michael Stevens, was dying of cancer. It was a very emotional record to write and to make. I wanted the songs for Fire On The Floor to get born real quick."

Take a spin of Fire On The Floor and you'll see exactly why. These twelve new songs run the gamut of genre, reflecting Beth's eclectic teenage influences, which took in everything from gospel, soul and classical to the seismic rock of Soundgarden. "As a writer," she nods, "I feel really stifled if I'm trying to write in the same style. I just can't do that. Growing up as a kid, I was raised all over the place stylistically, loving so many different genres."

Fire On The Floor is the album that Beth Hart needed to make. Likewise, it's a record that you need to hear. "I'm so pleased with it," she concludes. "I recently had to organize the sequence of the record, and while I was doing that, I was thinking to myself, 'Y'know, this is pretty frickin' good !'"

    Chapter And Verse

'Chapter and Verse,' the audio companion to Bruce Springsteen's extraordinary forthcoming autobiography, will be released on Columbia Records. The career-spanning compilation will be released four days before Simon & Schuster publishes 'Born to Run.' Five of the album's 18 tracks have not been previously released.

Springsteen selected the songs on 'Chapter and Verse' to reflect the themes and sections of 'Born to Run.' The compilation begins with two tracks from The Castiles, featuring a teenaged Springsteen on guitar and vocals, and ends with the title track from 2012's 'Wrecking Ball.' The collected songs trace Springsteen's musical history from its earliest days, telling a story that parallels the one in the book.

Recordings from Steel Mill and The Bruce Springsteen Band feature musicians who would go on to play in The E Street Band. Solo demos of "Henry Boy" and "Growin' Up" were cut in 1972 shortly before Springsteen began recording his debut album, 'Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.'

The Wild, The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle

Ranked 133/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Mastered By Bob Ludwig Working Under The Supervision Of Springsteen & Engineer Toby Scott

The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. It was recorded by Springsteen with the E Street Band at 914 Sound Studios in Blauvelt, New York. The album includes the song Rosalita (Come Out Tonight), the band's most-used set-closing song for the first 10 years of its career.

As with Springsteen's first album released earlier in the year, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle was well-received critically but had little commercial success at the time. However, once Springsteen achieved popularity with Born to Run, several selections from this album became popular FM radio airplay and concert favorites. On November 7, 2009, Springsteen and the E Street Band played the album in its entirety for the first time ever in a concert at Madison Square Garden.[2]

Sid Vicious may have become the Punk icon, at least Glen Matlock - original bass player for the Sex Pistols could really play, wrote ten out of the twelve songs on the classic Never Mind The Bollocks and he's still alive.

Over the years he has continued to tour and now he is presenting us his new solo album, Born Running. This isn't a Sex Pistols rip-off but a collection of rolling Rockers with a poignant smile similar to Joey Ramone's solo work. Produced by Jim Lowe (of Stereophonics, Foo Fighters, and Manic Street Preachers), whatever Matlock might lack in originality he more than makes up for sincerity.

The Sound Of A New World Being Born

Before Green Day, Operation Ivy, and Lookout Records put the East Bay's burgeoning punk scene on the map, a trio of Berkeley kids were reinventing the genre with music that was melodic but full of feedback, and a singer who sounded like he gargled glass. Crimpshrine's debut EP was Lookout's fourth release, followed by an album, a second EP, and a slew of split singles and compilation tracks before the band imploded in 1989 after a ridiculous two-and-a-half-month tour in a Ford Pinto hatchback.

Formed around teenage binary stars Jeff Ott and Aaron Cometbus, Crimpshrine went through a series of lineups in their four-year run, utilizing future Tilt and Go Sailor bassists Pete Rypins and Paul Curran, and briefly including second guitarist Idon Bryant. Not overtly political, their fiery brand of introspective punk touched on homelessness, teenage pregnancy, drug use, friendship, isolation, and a grimy sort of romance.

Two collections have emerged posthumously: 1992's Duct Tape Soup and 1998's The Sound Of A New World Being Born, both falling out of print in 2002.

Ott went on to form Fifteen and author two books; Cometbus founded Pinhead Gunpowder with Billie Joe Armstrong and continues to edit his long-running fanzine.

Darkness On The Edge Of Town

Ranked 150/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Mastered By Bob Ludwig Working Under The Supervision Of Springsteen & Engineer Toby Scott

Coming three years and one extended court battle after Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge of Town was highly anticipated. Some attributed the album's embattled tone to Bruce Springsteen's legal troubles, but it carried on from Born to Run, in which Springsteen had first begun to view his colorful cast of characters as losers. On Darkness, he began to see them as the working class: his characters, some of whom he inhabited and sang for in the first person, had little and were in danger of losing even that. Their only hope for redemption lay in working harder, and their only escape lay in driving. Springsteen presented these hard truths in hard rock settings, the tracks paced by powerful drumming and searing guitar solos. Though not as heavily produced as Born to Run, Darkness was given a full-bodied sound; Springsteen's stories were becoming less heroic, but his musical style remained grand; the sound, and the conviction in his singing, added weight to songs like Racing in the Street and the title track, transforming the pathetic into the tragic. But despite the rock & roll fervor, Darkness was no easy listen, and it served notice that Springsteen was already willing to risk his popularity for his principles.

On November 18, 1975, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band made their first concert appearance outside of America, at London's Hammersmith Odeon. Born to Run had been released three months earlier, and Springsteen had famously appeared on the covers of Time and Newsweek three weeks before the Hammersmith gig-was the rest of the world finally ready for him? More than 40 years later, Hammersmith Odeon London '75 answers with a resounding "yes"-and now, for the first time on vinyl, fans can experience the magic of that unforgettable night.

21 Tracks Spread Out Over Three High-quality, 180 Gram Vinyl LPs. Lyrics To All Of The Songs, A New Essay From Bruce Springsteen And Never-before-seen Photographs From The "Darkness" Sessions Are Also Included

Darkness was my 'samurai' record, Springsteen writes, stripped to the frame and ready to rumble." But the music that got left behind was substantial. For the first time, fans will have access to 21 previously-unreleased songs from the Darkness recording sessions, songs that, as Springsteen writes, perhaps could have/should have been released after Born To Run and before the collection of songs that Darkness on the Edge of Town became.

Highlights include the extraordinary rock version of Racing in the Street, the never-before-released original recordings of Because the Night, Fire, and Rendezvous, the supreme pop opus Someday (We'll Be Together), the hilarious Ain't Good Enough for You, the superb soul-based vocal performance on The Broken Hearted, the utterly haunting Breakaway, and the now finally released, fully orchestrated masterpiece and title song, The Promise. All 21 songs have been mixed by Springsteen's long-time collaborator, Bob Clearmountain. According to long-time manager/producer Jon Landau, There isn't a weak card in this deck. The Promise is simply a great listening experience.

Prophet started his wild ride back in 1984, when Green on Red, the
seminal purveyors of American Rock-Roots, plucked him out of
Berkeley, CA and threw him in the van for an eight-year ride, and the
recording of as many albums. Since then Prophet has recorded nine
amazing solo albums and toured and recorded with the likes of
Lucinda Williams, Aimee Mann, Cake, and Jonathan Richman, not to
mention production credits for Warren Zevon, Alejandro Escovedo
and Kelly Willis. Ryan Adams, Solomon Burke and Heart have
recorded his songs, along with a host of others. Prophet has never
been one to rest on his laurels and ride it out.
For his ninth solo album Let Freedom Ring, Chuck reached out to
some musicians and talked them into going down to Mexico City, The
Biggest City in the World (pop. 25 million). Recorded at Estudio 19, a
state-ofthe- art studio (well, circa 1958 state-of-the-art anyway) with
Greg Leisz (Beck, Wilco, Emmylou Harris) coproducing.
Within three days of arriving swine flu broke out and the indignity of
having to wear blue surgical masks just to fit in.
Over the course of the next eight days, the band set about recording
¡Let Freedom Ring!, enduring a poorly timed blackout, shakedowns
by the Policia, and a 6.4 earthquake mid-take - Mexico City might only
be 4 hours away by plane but it might as well have been on the other
side of the moon. But whilst mayhem ensued, the band buckled down
to the task in hand, all set up together in a tight little bamboo lined
room with the amps cranked. Chuck played his Fender Squire, Kelly
Stoltz on backing vocals, Rusty Miller (Jason Lyte‟s band) played
bass while Drummer Ernest Boom Carter turned his sticks into
kindling. Carter played on Springsteen‟s Born To Run - he promptly
quit the E Street Band after they spent 6 months recording it. The
results can be heard from the Clash inspired opener to the power pop
of Let Freedom Ring‟ and the Eddie Cochran infused Good Time
    Crowd‟.

Born in New Orleans in 1940 as Malcom John Rebennack, he eventually took the stage name of Dr. John and went on to become a legendary songwriter, pianist and guitarist whose iconic music combines blues, jazz, boogie woogie, Cajun and rock n' roll influences. At an early age he was exposed to burgeoning rock artists such as Little Richard, Guitar Slim, James Booker, Earl King and Professor Longhair, all who played a big influence on Dr. John's developing style. In 1965 he moved to Los Angeles where he became a "first call" session musician in the LA studio scene in the 1960s and 70s and was part of the "Wrecking Crew" stable of studio musicians. He backed up Sonny & Cher, Canned Heat, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and many others. By the mid-1960s, Rebennack's fascination and preoccupation with New Orleans voodoo culture helped to influence and develop the idea for what would become the Dr. John persona which would define him for the rest of his career.

By 1968 he started to gain fame as a solo-artist using the persona of Dr. John the Night Tripper and featuring elaborate costumes and stage shows influenced by Screamin' Jay Hawkins act. Gris-Gris was Dr. John's debut album for Atco Records and is ranked #143rd on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. He recorded three more albums for Atco: Babylon (1969), Remedies (1970) and The Sun, Moon and Herbs (1971) that all followed suit with voodoo influences and New Orleans traditional music. By 1971, Dr. John had gained a notable cult following that included artists such as Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger, both of whom took part in the Sun, Moon and Herbs sessions. He is best known for his recordings done between the years 1972-1974 and Dr. John's Gumbo cut in 1972 is considered a cornerstone of New Orleans music. The single from the album, "Iko, Iko" broke into the Billboard Hot 100 chart reaching #71. The album was ranked 404 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time List. In 1973, produced by Allen Toussaint and backed by the Meters, Dr. John released the seminal New Orleans funk album, In The Right Place. Rooted in solid R&B it reached #24 on the Billboard album chart anchored by the hit single, "Right Place Wrong Time" that peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and has gone on to become a heavily played staple on classic rock radio to this day. Dr. John has recorded more than 20 albums and is the winner of six Grammy® Awards. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011 and continues to tour and record to this day.

    Soma Records Story: Vol. 3 - A Man's Gotta Be A Man!

The record world was a completely different place in 1965.
Kids wanting to take home a piece of the rock 'n' roll action they frugged to at the Armory dance last weekend or a wild tune they heard the local bossjocks spin on the way home from school, inevitably had to deal with seven-inchers made by independent record labels. The single was the thing in the mid-60's, not the album. In even the hippest big city record emporiums, you could thumb through the entire recorded canon of British Invasion-influenced LPs - no more than a hundred or so - in about five minutes. But, ahhh, those singles. And nobody did them better than the shoebox companies sprouting up like bread mold all over the country, labels who could tap into the best local talent and get their show-stopping songs into the local record shops.

Just about every sector of the US had its own scene, red hot local chart entries that kids three hundred miles away were destined to never hear. And that's why the legendary indie labels - from International Artists in Houston or Autumn in San Francisco to Dunwich in Chicago or Etiquette in Tacoma - and hundreds more just as groovy, are revered today more than ever.

The Soma Record Company of Minneapolis caught the national spotlight by releasing hits from the likes of the Castaways and the Gestures. But Liar Liar and Run, Run, Run are just the tip ofthe iceberg. If you've always suspected that thousands of great singles from the '60s that you've yet to hear are lurking in the bushes, guess what? You're right. Step into the dusty Soma vaults with us - brush aside those cobwebs, if you would - point your flashlight towards the strobelight flickering at the far end of the tunnel and keep walking. When the cool Fender 'n Farfisa sounds finally grab you by the shirt collar, just keep telling yourself: This isn't a dream. It's what I was born to do.

    Youngish American

Dams of the West - the new solo project from Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Tomson - have shared details on their debut LP, entitled 'Youngish American.'

Produced by Patrick Carney of the Black Keys alongside Roger Moutenot and Tomson himself, 'Youngish American' was born after a long run of Vampire Weekend dates, when Tomson found himself at home with an empty calendar for the first time in years. After a few months spent grappling with existential insecurity and writer's block, the new music began to take form. Recorded in Nashville with Carney at the helm, Tomson wrote every song and plays virtually all instruments on the album.

The 10-song collection offers casually cutting takes on early-30's ennui and domesticity, exploring the tension between wanting to settle down and the simultaneous hesitancy to leave behind younger roles. The project's name serves as a nod to this psychological limbo, an ode to the once-useful dams of the west - totemic pieces of infrastructure that threaten to become obsolete as time moves on.

    Deep Trip

Destruction Unit are an American band formed in the Sonoran desert of Arizona. Dug up from the sonic landfills of the cosmos, these radical desert dwellers have built a reputation for both mesmerizing and terrorizing crowds with their sheer
    power and intensity.

Formed by Ryan Rousseau, D. Unit was initially a synthheavy three piece whose other members were Jay Reatard and Alicja Trout (Lost Sounds); likewise Rousseau was also in the Reatards before Jay went solo. Born out of the nucleus of the Memphis Goner Records scene and transplanted into Tempe, AZ, Rousseau has grown the band in the last few years into a full sonic assault, which now includes three guitar players (himself, Nick Nappa & Jesco Aurelius), his brother Rusty Rousseau on bass, and a 19 year-old classically trained drummer, Andrew Flores. This line-up has released several cassettes on their own label Ascetic House, a small run lP, Void on Jolly Dream and most recently a limited edition 7 on Suicide Squeeze.

Deep Trip is their first proper studio album, produced by Ben Greenberg of The Men, Hubble, and Pygmy Shrews at Vacation Island in NY. It's the first long player which truly captures their burning spirits. Morphine boogie for the 21st century noise addict. A spiritual odyssey of sadomasochistic self-loathing with songs about love and freedom. Selling drugs to make music to sell drugs to; aggressive psychedelic sprawl at its finest. The future of Rock and Roll burning through three twin reverbs and a pound of grass.

    Wonderful Wonderful

Wonderful Wonderful is The Killers' fifth studio album and features the top 10 Alternative hit The Man.

Brandon Flowers revealed in May 2015 that he and guitarist Dave Keuning were exchanging ideas for The Killers' fifth studio album. The four members reconvened in October 2015, a few months earlier than originally planned. The band began work on the album at their own Battle Born Studios and also rented houses in Joshua Tree National Park and San Diego. They briefly recorded with Ryan Tedder and other producers in Los Angeles before beginning work with Jacknife Lee, who had been recommended to them by U2 frontman Bono. Lee worked with the band between September 2016 and May 2017 at his home studio in Topanga, California, and at National SouthWestern Recording studios in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lee produced all tracks on the album alongside The Killers, with Additional Production by Erol Alkan on The Man and Stuart Price on Out Of My Mind.

The Killers enlisted Mark Knopfler (of Dire Straits) for a guitar part on Have All the Songs Been Written?. Additionally, Flowers wrote the lyrics for Some Kind of Love over music by Brian Eno. Australian artist Alex Cameron contributed lyrics to the track Run for Cover, which was originally written for the band's third studio album, Day & Age.

    New Masses For Squaw Peak

New Masses for Squaw Peak gifts unto us bold, surprising new textures and denser, cheekier ideas and themes. Its packed tight with style: gauze-flange experimentation; jazz-chord death-pop; shifty proto-prog; historical and personal mythologies weaved through its passages. Yet, claustrophobic it is not. New Masses for Squaw Peak is as wide-open of a landscape as its title may suggest. It is also a well-traveled collection of songs: laid to tape in the belly of an abandon Philadelphia textile factory; run through three mixing boards by three separate sets of hands; and ultimately sculpted into its final form by the gentlemen to conjured it in the first place. And oh joy, what conjuring.

Mystics Pharaohs (Masc. Pharaohs) begins with a big, fat wink to Enos Here Come the Warm Jets (a hallmark of Squaw Peak) before descending into its own purply blackhole of dark, dissonant whitefunk. A metallic sonic fog allows guitar stabs and squalls, and the pings of ringleader Nathan Pembertons vocal calls, to hit you twice then thrice, then unravel out into the cosmos. All players here (multi-instrumentalists Josh Martin and Brian Forfa; and drummer John Frank) are using both sides of the brain at every turn, the instinctual, tribal rhythm with which we are born and the semi-learned, nervy way we manipulate that instinct. The instinct that tells us to stay and play inside our comfort zone, and the secret instinct to see what lies just beyond its boundary. Cor-Du-Roi, another standout, is almost perpendicular to Mystics Pharoahs with its shambling, assured pace and melodies all tinny and distant. Its a risky number for Holiday Shores in its maturity and subtle composition. It also just might be their most inspired, beautiful piece to date. We find this kind of maturity and patience again with deep-cut Coming to Shores, an ambient-pop sci-fi wash that almost falls into the new classical phylum.

Pemberton and Martin prove time and again that they share more than just a keyboard table in the live setting; they share an endlessly searching, creative brain. Pembertons jazz keyboards are often interlocked with Martins plinkety-plankety lyrical guitar. On Shadie Spun Gold and in other spots, like pulsing leadoff track Airglow their separately played parts are hocketed to create the larger melody, with notes falling just left of where Steely Dan might drop them (which sounds awesome). Holiday Shores might be prog-rock in the way that Ariel Pink might be prog-rock. Its shape-shifting pop songcraft that will slip from your fingers like a sea cucumber the very second you think you have hold.

Williams' 2011 Studio Set on 2LP Includes Entire Album on CD Plus a Bonus CD of the Kitchen Tapes Demos

Americana Legend's 12th Record Produced by Don Was

Features Guest Appearances by Elvis Costello and Matthew Sweet

Following a two-year break between albums, and the blossoming of a relationship that turned into marriage, one of the great contemporary songwriters and music makers returns with her twelfth studio set. And being that the artist we're talking about is Lucinda Williams, the record is a doozy.

Diverse and captivating, Blessed opens with the gritty kiss-off Buttercup then moves seamlessly into the sultry blues of Born To Be Loved. Williams delves into a heavier subject as she questions the motives for a suicide on the hard-driving Seeing Black, which features blistering guitar from Elvis Costello. The thoughtful title track slowly builds to a melodic climax as it offers an eye-opening look at whats right in front of us, but too often unnoticed. The singer/guitarist's knack for insights and emotive songs run throughout the 12-song set.

Poignant and powerful, Soldiers Song simultaneously tells a tragic story of the soldier overseas and his wife and child back home. On the gorgeous Kiss Like Your Kiss, Williams lays down one of the most beautiful and fragile vocals she has ever recorded. The original version of the song appeared on the True Blood: Music From The HBO Original Series - Volume 2, and was recently nominated for a Grammy Award.

Its nothing new to see Williams tug at the heartstrings and stimulate the mind on her songs, but there is a vibe throughout Blessed that is unique to this album: the sound of wisdom, wherewithal, and experience Williams has gained through her more than 30 years as an uncompromising artist. Combine that pedigree with Grammy Award-winning producer Don Was, and the results are nothing but special. Was co-produced Blessed with Eric Liljestrand and Tom Overby, who co-produced Williams' highly-praised 2008 effort Little Honey.

Lost Highway's 2LP pressing of Blessed also includes the entire album on CD as well as a revealing bonus disc, titled The Kitchen Tapes, which presents the record's songs in demo form as Williams recorded them, often at her kitchen table, as she's prone to do. Complete packaging on new studio records doesn't come any better!

    Moon

Born from love, musical empathy, a baby grand piano discovered on Gumtree and an expired visa, Snowbird duo Stephanie Dosen and Simon Raymonde have crafted an album of exquisite melody and mood that radiates the uncanny mystery of the object it's named after: moon.

Released on Bella Union, the label that Raymonde has run and curated since his former band Cocteau Twins went their individual ways in 1997, moon comprises 11 songs composed between two continents; Raymonde was in London while Dosen was in North Carolina after being based in the capital following her 2007 debut A Lily For The Spectre. Snowbird's album was subsequently crafted via the wonder of technology, and yet moon has one unifying and intimate sound and vision, from gently pulsating, pop-centric trails ("I Heard The Owl Call My Name", "Bears On My Trail") and lingering, luminous ballads ("All Wishes Are Ghosts", "Come To The Woods") to the musical equivalent of floating downstream, bathed
in silvery light ("Charming Birds From Trees", "In Lovely").

The eagle-eyed out there will notice the predominance of flora and fauna on moon, starting with the name Snowbird. There's more on "Where Foxes Hide", "We Carry White Mice" and "Heart Of The Woods". But there is one human subject in"Amelia", and others came out to play too, a suitably transatlantic roster of friends: Radiohead drummer Philip Selway and guitarist Ed O'Brien, Midlake guitarist Eric Pulido and drummer McKenzie Smith and two more gifted guitarists in Paul Gregory(Lanterns On The Lake) and Jonathan Wilson.

If the 11 tracks weren't enough there is a 2nd half of the record!. An album of remixes (one for each 11 tracks) by Michigan's electronic music genius by the name of RxGibbs, who expands, annotates and shines a whole new light on the wonder of Snowbird, adding and subtracting beats, creating otherworldly ambient passages, and building the other half of a distinctly beautiful and passionate whole that gives a whole new meaning to the term"moonstruck" The album cover (above) is by Vaughan Oliver, famed graphic designer known for his distinctive work for 4AD, including many album covers for Cocteau Twins.

    What

    Introduction

Rega is very proud to introduce a brand new high performance integrated amplifier. Designed and engineered to the highest standard to deliver the best possible audio performance whilst remaining simple to use and easy to setup.

Our recent development work in amplifier design circuitry has allowed us to further advance the Elicit-R performance by using new and improved power amplifier circuits (based around the hugely successful Rega Brio-R amplifier). Combined with FET discrete line pre-amplifiers and a programmable stepped attenuator volume control ensuring greater levels of performance and control over the delivery of power. The Elicit-R is supplied with the new Solaris system remote handset offering full control over this and all of the current R range of electronics.

    Technology

The output amplifier used in the Elicit-R was born after extensive research by our engineers to develop a low source Class-A* driver stage. Based around a complementary pair of Darlington output transistors forming an emulated Class-A driver stage.

    Features

The Elicit-R includes a high quality built in moving magnet phono stage designed to maximise the potential of your vinyl system. A simple switch on the rear panel allows the same input to be switched to a secondary set at line level. This input is specially configured to offer further isolation and reduce noise. This makes it ideally suited for connection of more sensitive products such as an external MM or MC phono stage.

If your system is not vinyl based the same socket allows this line input to be used with any line level product (such as a CD player or DAC) ensuring maximised connectivity via the back panel. These features coupled with Polypropylene capacitors throughout the signal path, improved power supplies, increased output power to 100 watts per channel all housed in a brand new custom designed case combine to give the best performance Elicit to date.

*The design of the Elicit-R benefits greatly from running warm. To ensure best performance it is recommended to allow the unit to reach optimum temperature before critical listening.
