    Victim Of Love

Bradley and writer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Thomas TNT Brenneck returned to Dunham studios and recorded the most exciting Daptone release to date, Victim of Love. On this album, Bradley moves past his Heartaches and Pain to the great promise of hope and love. Though quite at home among the music that has affirmed Daptone as the world's #1 authority on Soul Music, Victim of Love proves to be a genre-bending masterpiece, picking up where the early 70's Temptations left off and edging boldly forward into psychedelic soul exploration.

Moaning Lisa Smile is the mighty new single from London four-piece, Wolf Alice. Produced by Catherine Marks at ICP Studios in Belgium, the track is sassy, bold and hits harder than a slap in the face from an angsty teen.

    Back At The Quonset Hut

Chuck Mead's album Back At The Quonset Hut was recorded at the legendary Quonset Hut (currently known as Bradley Film & Recording Studios) in Nashville, Tenn., with some of Nashville's most well-known, veteran session players Harold Bradley, Hargus Pig Robbins, Bob Moore and Buddy Spicher and special guests Jamey Johnson, Elizabeth Cook, Bobby Bare, and Old Crow Medicine Show. The album features Chuck's take on 12 classic country songs.

I wanted to make the record the old way, with all the musicians playing together in one room so it's a musical performance instead of piecemeal recording, Mead explains. We decided it would be perfect to record my classic country record at the Hut-the quintessential Nashville studio-with Belmont students helping. I liked the idea because I could record the way I wanted, and at the same time, expose young engineers to a way of recording that maybe they're not used to. The main thing, though, was to make sure that the record didn't become a museum piece. A good song is eternal and I wanted to take the eternal spirit of the songs and show how they were still vital today.

Now Is The Time For Hearts & Flowers

Though they are often only referred to in passing, as a sort of footnote of '60s West Coast scene, Los Angeles group Hearts And Flowers were actually one of the most eclectic groups of the time, incorporating elements of psych and country into their folk-rock sound. Founded by Larry Murray, a southern transplant to LA, and a graduate of the same vibrant Southern California bluegrass scene that gave way to Byrds and Burritos, the group's 1967 debut, Now Is The Time For Hearts And Flowers, is a classic album that deserves mention in the same breath as Sweetheart Of The Rodeo or Bradley's Barn. Devil Without A Cause

Certified Multi-Platinum (10 times) By The RIAA. (7/01)

It's fitting that the Kid Rock revival got started when the Beastie Boys featured him in their Grand Royal magazine--and not because the kid from Detroit shares their skin tone. Rock has often been compared with the early Beasties--the boys of Fight for Your Right to Party and Brass Monkey, the boys no one ever thought would grow up. With lines like I ain't straight outta Compton, I'm straight out the trailer and I started an escort service--for all the right reasons, it's obvious that Kid Rock doesn't aim to follow suit.

But that's no hindrance to Devil--backed by the funky metal band Twisted Brown Trucker and special guests like blues vets Robert Bradley and Thronetta Davis, Rock is hosting one hell of an interesting party. Ultimately, Rock's party is great, schlocky fun, equal parts old Beasties and Sebastian Bach--making Devil a guilty pleasure, the Starship Troopers of hip-hop. --Randy Silver

Sainthood Reps got their start in Long Island in 2009 and currently feature Francesco Montesanto on guitar/vocals, Derrick Sherman on guitar and
Bradley Cordaro on drums. Influenced by bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai and Built to Spill, the band blends an eclectic
mix of indie rock, post-rock, post-hardcore and alternative rock, creating a unique brooding sound that grabs hold of listeners attention with each riff and
    verse.

The band released their debut album, Monoculture, in 2011, which found them further tapping into their influences of 90's alternative and emo and
transitioning from a instrumental post-rock band to the loud passionate rock band they were destined to become.

In 2013 the band signed with No Sleep Records to release their sophomore album, Headswell. Continuing on their musical path of lush, distorted guitars
and penetrating lyrics, Sainthood Reps' latest effort incorporates an array of intricate styles like the abrasive aural assault of Shelter, the subdued
atmospheric track Fall and the grungy riffage of Run Like Hell that bleed together creating a cohesive experience that fans will be happily surprised by.

Allentown, PA band's long out-of-print debut album. The 8-song album

Pissed Jeans were noisy as a motherfucker and proud of it on Shallow. The album sounds like a big pile of mud and broken glass ripping through

Shallow was originally released by Pissed Jeans in June of 2005, not
long after their 2004 single, "Throbbing Organ" b/w "Night Moves." All
tracks were originally recorded by Dan McKinney at Dan's House in
Center Valley, PA, and Shallow was first released via New Jersey hardcore

In the late 1950s and the '60s, country music was essentially a singles medium. This album, first released in 1967, collects a dozen of Patsy Cline's biggest hits - all of them from the country singles market - including Walkin' After Midnight, Sweet Dreams (Of You), Crazy, and I Fall to Pieces. Producer Owen Bradley surrounds Cline's full-throated, emotionally charged vocals with lush, sophisticated arrangements that set the standard for Nashville's countrypolitan sound. Before Shania Twain found a new (though not necessarily improved) way to combine country and pop in the 1990s, this was the top-selling country album of all time by a female artist.

    The Sinister Urge

    Picture Disc

Hard rock's brightest shock rocker avoids the sophomore slump on the fun and energetic The Sinister Urge. Zombie's trademark growl is still in fine form, roaring over the 11 tracks with his unique blend of acid-throated venom. But most interesting are the directions he tries to bring to his familiar sound, which he has been cultivating since the hardcore punk days of White Zombie. Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy) is the most apparent example of this, a song that borders on pop with its groovy handclaps and acoustic guitars. But not to be worried, the chorus kicks back into classic Zombie, complete with sampled crowd chants and his trademark yeah. Going to California has a similar vibe, albeit darker and with a Welcome to My Nightmare-era Alice Cooper showbiz quality to it. But when it comes time to rock out, Zombie is more than ready. Dead Girl Superstar is probably the best of the bunch, raging along at lightning speed and featuring an awesome guest appearance by Slayer guitarist Kerry King. Iron Head is also quite good, matching Zombie's bark with guest singer Ozzy Osbourne's trademark banshee wail over a swaggering beat and chugging riff. And finally there is House of 1000 Corpses, the theme from the film Zombie directed that apparently offended Universal Studios so much that they refused to release it. The song is a nice departure for him, like a Leonard Cohen song filtered through Violator-era Depeche Mode. It is the slow burn of this last track that shows the most promise; after years of making good heavy metal, he finally expands the boundaries of his own sound. Few metal musicians kept their sound fresh for as long as Zombie, and this album is no exception. This may not win any new fans, but anyone who enjoyed his old material will probably find this to be a welcome addition to their collection.

    Lovers Know

After touring the world as a member of the Postal Service in 2013, Laura Burhenn (The Mynabirds) took a year to get lost. She drove across the US twice, toured South Africa solo, made her first appearance in London (also solo), and trekked all over Europe with William Faulkner's words ringing in her ears: "You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore." Finally she found herself in Los Angeles with a suitcase of songs to fill a whole new album. Lovers Know, The Mynabirds' third full-length release, was produced by Bradley Hanan Carter (Black English) and recorded over a yearlong period in Los Angeles, Joshua Tree, Nashville, and Auckland, New Zealand. It's definitely new territory for Burhenn, forging into 80s, 90s and futuristic soundscapes, recalling Kate Bush, Sinead O'Connor, The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and even 90s hip hop and R&B. The album may be loaded with a fresh palette of new sounds (swarms of synths, gauzy electric guitars, and electronic drums), but her brooding, unmistakable voice leads the way. Lyrically this is her most personal and confessional work to date, and also her most accessible. Whereas her last album, GENERALS, watched from a wide angle to understand the world at a distance, Lovers Know pulls in close. "There's something about wandering the world over," Laura says, "that makes you realize how similar we all are - everyone searching for something, so often the same thing: love. It may sound trite, but it's true. Love - or the lack of it - is the thing we all have in common. It can destroy us. It can break us open and let the light in. And it's also the thing that can make us sing." Burhenn has released two previous albums as The Mynabirds on Saddle Creek, What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood (2010) and GENERALS (2012), both of which were produced by Richard Swift and met by critical acclaim.

    Broken People

American music is a mile-wide river that beckons black and white, urban and rural, dreamer and doer alike to launch their vessels. All the streams of style and genre flow into it; its tributaries are blues and jazz, mountain and folk, rock, soul and R&B.

The release of the debut album by Muddy Magnolias, Broken People, marks the launch of a great new vessel onto that waterway. The album showcases a confluence of style and sound as colorful as it is unlikely, steeped in that river of influence, yet bracingly fresh.

With Broken People, Jessy Wilson and Kallie North take us on an 11-song journey with its origins in two widely divergent backgrounds that came together in a friendship and creative partnership with world-changing resonance.

North was raised in southeast Texas and began singing with her family and studying piano at an early age. She grew to love rich vocal harmonies singing in church choirs and listening to artists like the Carpenters, Alison Krauss, James Taylor and the Eagles. By her early teens, she was singing lead parts in church and in musical theater productions at her high school. Her palette grew when a friend turned her on to the Grateful Dead, and after high school she spent every spare moment in the clubs of Austin, absorbing everything from alt-country and jam bands to New Orleans funk. She met her husband at a concert and moved with him to his native Mississippi. There, on their isolated farm, she had her awakening, starting a career as a photographer, capturing the spirited, deep history of the Mississippi Delta.

"To me, the Delta is the most overlooked and mysterious place," she says. "It was the birthplace of America's music, and all the legends were influenced by everything that came out of it. I went on this personal exploration to learn about the Delta blues and the region's history. I picked up a camera and started taking pictures, blogging about what I was experiencing, and I tapped into all the creative energy lying dormant inside me." When her husband gave her a guitar, she began spending her days on the porch of their farm learning how to connect her first chords. From there, the songs began pouring out and she knew she had to find a way to get to Nashville and write songs professionally.

Wilson, raised in Brooklyn, was in love with music from her earliest days. She was singing before she could talk, and was 5 when her mother recognized her passion for music. "I would cry because I couldn't hit the high notes in Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey songs," she says. Influenced by greats from Aretha and Smokey Robinson to Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige and The Notorious B.I.G., she began auditioning in the highly competitive New York entertainment scene and was working professionally in musical theater by the age of 10. Her mother took her to nightclubs where she experienced a variety of live performances. She attended New York's top performing arts schools, including La Guardia High School, the "Fame" school, where she discovered her love for gospel music and took part in the gospel chorus for four years. She worked at Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village, making $500 a weekend while still in high school.

She sang backup for Alicia Keys in her teens, then worked four years with John Legend, and through him with legends like will.i.am, Kanye West, Raphael Saadiq and Babyface. Legend mentored her in songwriting and recording before she began writing songs on her own for American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino and others. Inspired by her evolving love of songwriting, she too moved to Nashville, looking for a wider creative palette. There, while meeting with then-BMI executive Clay Bradley, her eye settled on a photograph of "a rundown juke joint piano" in his office.

"I want to meet whoever took that photo," she said. The photographer was North-it had been taken during her creative awakening in Mississippi-and the subsequent meeting led quickly to collaboration and an epic friendship.

"The first day we wrote together," says North, "there wasn't much thought that we were blending genres and worlds. That never came up. It was just natural. She had never written a country song and I was writing them every day. We sat down to write one but when we listened back it was a country R&B song. And we decided to become songwriting partners." Before long, they had their first cut as collaborators, and they were off and running.

"The spirit of the Muddy Magnolias existed from the moment we met," says Wilson, "but we didn't know we were the Muddy Magnolias yet." North was toying with the idea of a solo career; Wilson had aspirations of making history as an African-American female songwriter in Nashville. Their new friendship was a game-changer.

"We spent a whole year writing, trying to understand what our message was when we combined our stories," says Wilson. Then one day over afternoon wine at Burger Up, their favorite hangout in the 12 South section of Nashville, both admitted to be being at a crossroads. "The next thing you know," says North, "Jessy said, 'What if we made a record together?' It was like all of our dreams in one."

"We went back to that same office on Music Row where I saw the photograph," says Wilson, "and sat down side by side in Clay's office and said, 'We've got something to tell you. We're going to make an album together.'" Bradley believed enough to sign on as their manager. They held three days of band auditions and found four best friends who had been playing together since college, primarily doing jazz. The fit was perfect, providing just the right sonic backdrop for their soulful approach and high-energy delivery.

As they continued to write and perform, opening for the likes of The Zac Brown Band and Gary Clark, Jr., they put together a project that crosses genres effortlessly, showcasing two voices that soar together in a blending of cultures as electrifying as if Janis Joplin and Tina Turner, or Whitney Houston and Lee Ann Womack had joined forces.

Broken People combines poetic imagery and vocal passion, with the musicianship and production of Motown or Muscle Shoals by way of the raw honesty of Sun Records. Of course it deals with love, longed for and unleashed, in songs like "I Need A Man," "Why Don't You Stay" and "Devil's Teeth," but the album soars as it reaches for bigger themes, dealing with the need for hope in "Take Me Home," for love on a societal scale in "Shine On" and "Brother What Happened," and hope for the future in "Got It Goin' On." With "Leave It To The Sky," the two, joined by John Legend on vocals and piano, make a powerful case for spiritual solutions, and few songs in the modern lexicon are as steeped in present-day reality as the gospel- and R&B-tinged title track.

"Ultimately," says North, "this album is a result of an unlikely friendship and is a testament to what can happen when you diversify your relationships."

"It's about getting out of your comfort zone and being rewarded with a great friendship," adds Wilson. "We've both felt the power of that."

"Our path is so much better and our lives are so much richer because of it," says North, "and we want to bring people along on this journey."

"We want to see what society would be like if we all reached out in ways we normally wouldn't," adds Wilson.

And that is the magic and the message. The music of Muddy Magnolias, live and on record, comes from a place where the Mississippi meets the A-Train by way of Nashville. Whether yours is the back porch or the front stoop, Spanish moss or window box garden, dusty country lane or crowded subway car, rural honky-tonk or uptown club, this is music that beckons. Muddy Magnolias are collaboration without boundaries, musical healing in a landscape of the heart, and all of us who treasure creative energy, honest art and the possibilities of love and unity, are better for their arrival.

    Whirl (Awaiting Repress)

Hersch's music: luxurious, free-flowing, unashamedly gorgeous jazz is idiosyncratically, unmistakably a creation of his own, David Hajdu wrote in a recent, riveting New York Times profile on Hersch's music and life. The piece detailed Hersch's recovery from a harrowing, near-death health battle and placed him in the forefront of contemporary, innovative jazz artists and chronicles his influence on many of today's brightest young musicians. Whirl is Hersch's first recording since undergoing intense physical therapy and achieving full recuperation.

Hersch is widely considered a genius on the piano. He moved to New York from Cincinnati in the 1970s, earning his credibility as a piano prodigy at Bradley's. His list of credits as a band leader, co-leader, sideman and soloist are astounding. He has worked extensively with jazz masters Stan Getz, Joe Henderson, and Jane Ira Bloom, Art Farmer, Toots Thielemans, Gary Burton, Bill Frisell, Sam Jones and Charlie Haden and has appeared on over 100 recordings. He is also a three-time Grammy nominee

Score By Brian Reitzell (Drummer For The French Band, Air)

Featuring Tracks By Wu-Tang Clan, Charles Bradley, RJD2, Mac Dre And More

In director Justin Tipping's feature debut Kicks, nothing is as simple as it seems. It's the story of fifteen-year-old Brandon, longing for a pair of the freshest sneakers that money can buy. Assuming that merely having them on his feet will help him escape the reality of being poor, neglected by the opposite sex and picked on by everyone - even his best friends. Working hard to get them, he soon finds that the titular shoes have instead made him a target after they are promptly snatched by Flaco, a local hood. Brandon goes on a mission to retrieve his stolen sneakers.

The director intentionally derived local artists, including Roach Gigz, Dave Steezy, and NanosauR, as well as the late Dre and Iamsu! from the San Fransisco Bay Area where the film is set.

I always knew I wanted to weave an eclectic soundtrack together that intertwined hip-hop and sweeping score to reflect the Bay Area sound, as well as the world inside the characters' imagination, said Tipping in a statement.

Bay Area composer Brian Reitzell is notable for his soundtrack work on The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation (for which he was nominated for a BAFTA), Marie Antoinette, and The Bling Ring. He is also the drummer of French electronica duo, Air.

We wanted the score to connect with the source music sonically, added Reitzell. I think that when you do that, the music as a whole -- both songs and score -- make for a more immersive/connective experience. The connection is evident in the beat-heavy track, 606 In The 510, from Reitzell's score.

The soundtrack features previously unreleased tracks from Nanosaur, Jay Casio and Reitzell, as well as two dialogue interludes set to lyrics from Notorious B.I.G.'s 1993 single Party and Bullshit and tracks by Wu-Tang Clan, Charles Bradley, RJD2 and Mac Dre.

    Greatest Hits (Patsy Cline)

200-gram vinyl pressing by Quality Record Pressings!

Cut at Sterling Sound directly from the original master tape. This was a straight transfer, bypassing the console altogether. There was no EQ of any kind. A true direct transfer, using a VMS 80, the most sophisticated lathe. You're hearing the master tape!

Best Of Collection - Reimagined And Remixed Versions Of KMFDM Classics

KMFDM pioneered the crossover between techno/ dance and heavy metal, creating their unique sound in the field of Industrial Rock. That influenced bands such as Rammstein with whom they were touring the US - with KMFDM headlining.

The band was founded in 1984 and rapidly evolved year by year through intense experimentation and touring. They have managed to redefine themselves with every new release.

"ROCKS" is a personal "best of" compilation by KMFDM protagonists and masterminds Sascha Konietzko and Lucia Cifarelli, who claim the re-imagined, re-mixed pieces would be an "ideal playlist for a live set".

Ranging from remixes by Bradley Bills of CHANT to producer/musician extraordinary Marco Trentacoste and Sascha Konietzko himself, the re-worked versions extract the essence of the band and, at the same time, place new emphases and commemorate the band's 32nd anniversary.

In true KMFDM tradition, "ROCKS" bears all the band's trademarks: the (mostly) five letters commonly used in the title, as well as the iconic graphics of Aidan Hughes aka BRUTE!, which are reminiscent in the style of early Soviet Constructivism propaganda. Add to this KMFDM's signature industrial sound, a crossover between techno/dance and heavy metal,
and densely distilled political lyrics, which never fail to challenge ignoramuses of every breed, and it is clear why KMFDM is regarded as the epitome and synonym for the musical style of the harder variety.
