REDI-WAR-4918xEno & Hyde
Someday WorldBrian Eno and Karl Hyde (of Underworld) come together with a new album to be released this May on Warp Records. This is the first vocal/band project from Eno since 2008's David Byrne collaboration. Someday World comprises nine songs, composed and sung by Eno & Hyde together with a highly distinguished cast of supporting musicians, including Eno's Roxy Music bandmate Andy Mackay, Tessa Angus, Nell Catchpole, Marianna Champion, Will Champion, Kasia Daszykowska, Don E., Darla Eno, Georgia Gibson, John Reynolds and Chris Vatalaro. Following his 2013 Grammy nominated album LUX, Brian Eno produced this new album with 20 year old Fred Gibson, and continues an ongoing collaboration between Hyde & Eno which sees the two together on a complete album for the first time. Another Green WorldFrom November 1975, 'Another Green World' represents the bridge between Brian's ground-breaking pop career and his early experiments with ambient music. This time around he was ably assisted in the studio by Robert Fripp from King Crimson, Phil Collins and Percy Jones from Brand X and, on viola, The Velvet Underground's John Cale. The album features 5 vocal and 9 instrumental songs including the title track which will be known to many as the theme to the BBC arts programme, 'Arena'.1. Sky Saw

Total Strife ForeverThe lead single, and the accompanying video, from East India Youth's debut album Total Strife Forever really tells you all you need to know about the record. 'Looking For Someone' opens like a familiar, albeit electronic, ballad with East India Youth (otherwise known as William Doyle) emoting directly into camera in a way reminiscent of Sinead O'Connor. Then he begins to ascend, the London skyline now whizzing past Doyle as the elevator he's in climbs the Heron Tower. Almighty, booming drums signalled the ascension; humming synths join the journey to the top before the music is stripped away and the camera pans away, twisting as the elevator descends. We are then shown a vertigo-inducing journey back to street level and a trip through the shaft of an elevator. Abrasive synthesisers and what sounds like a distorted church organ are the soundtrack for this dizzying descent. It's no longer a simple plea to a lost lover, but a rallying cry against loneliness in the midst of huge, anonymous monuments.
Total Strife Forever is a brutal electronic album, but one that still retains a very humanistic core - this juxtaposition is a thematic thread which runs throughout the album. Doyle then sculpts and defines the music in order to create tension between these two disparate elements, or else uses their differences in order to surprise and engage the listener. This is done within individual songs and across the record: over 11 tracks you'll hear acid beats, euphoric electronic pop, ambient passages, drone, krautrock and more. What's incredible is how East India Youth has managed to bring all of these elements together and construct a cohesive record.
The album opens with 'Glitter Recession'. Soft piano meets a twinkling keyboard melody and then heavy bass stabs. The piano becomes louder and deeper, the keyboard softer, and swirling synths enter the mix. It's a beautiful, optimistic opening, the instruments all layered so that they never feel like they are jostling for attention, but rather adding details and intricacies to make the piece more alive. 'Glitter Recession' is followed by the first of four 'Total Strife Forever' pieces, this one built around a steady sawtooth bass line that grows in intensity as a pounding kick drum appears and echoing synths wash in and out of audible range. It feels like it is building towards heavy electronic noise, of the kind bands like Fuck Buttons are renowned for. But instead 'Total Strife Forever I' is more restrained as sustained chords create a stunning euphoric ending.
The third track 'Dripping Down' is the first to feature vocals. If you've previously heard the singles leading into this album, or the Hostel EP from last year, you might be surprised by the fact that Total Strife Forever is largely instrumental, yet it makes the rare appearance of vocals all the more effective. 'Dripping Down's harmonies are beautiful, particularly in the closing moments of the track when they sound as though they've been recorded in a grand cathedral (most of this album was in fact recorded at home over the course of three years).
With clear percussion and shimmering synthesiser riffs, 'Dripping Down' is the first dance track on the album, yet what follows takes things up a notch. 'Hinterland' is an out and out acid track. It starts with an echoing, sonar-like melody, ambient chords and a quick snare/kick beat. The bass drops and we're given an infectious, shuffling four-to-the-floor beat; what follows deserves to be a staple in any self-respecting DJ's club mix. 'Hinterland' is phenomenal, yet somehow East India Youth manages to go beyond that on the next track.
'Heaven How Long' is easily the album's highlight and arrives just around the mid-point of the album. It's euphoric electronica at its best, and features one of the record's most delicate sections in the second verse. Doyle's vocals, hushed during the verses, soar for the chorus and the whole song ends with a krautrock inspired instrumental, marrying looped synthesisers to heavy bass guitar riffs.
The second half of the Total Strife Forever is just as strong and rewarding as the first half. There's the aforementioned lead single 'Looking For Someone', as well as three more 'Total Strife Forever' pieces. The second of those tracks, which immediately follows 'Heaven How Long', is easily one of the most meditative tracks on the album, solely comprising an organ, haunting choral vocals and a deep electronic buzzing. In many ways it's similar to Tim Hecker's most recent work which used church organs and filters to blur the lines between what's real and what's synthetic. Meanwhile, 'Midnight Koto' is perhaps the album's most atmospheric track. Distant loops, heavily distorted and sounding like a terrifying rush of traffic, play under the koto melody. It's heavily inspired by Brian Eno, particularly his work with Bowie on tracks like 'Moss Garden'.
Whilst these references are clear, at no point does it seem like East India Youth is just trying to replicate his idols. Total Strife Forever pulls together these influences and creates something truly extraordinary. This is an album firmly rooted in a decade where technology blurs the lines between fact and fiction, where we 'socialise' with brands and it's possible to feel hopelessly alone amidst the towering skyscrapers of a city. The final track 'Total Strife Forever IV' opens with static that eventually fades away to reveal grand synthesiser melodies before disintegrating once more. The beauty of those melodies is only enhanced by their temporary nature. Amidst the machinery there's a realisation that whilst the buildings, the brands and digital world might live on, it's reality and our fellow human beings that are truly beautiful and deserving of our attention.

Music performed and composed by Robert Fripp & Brian Eno
Brian Eno is usually credited with the claim that everyone who originally bought a Velvet Underground album subsequently formed a band. It's no less valid to suggest that many of those involved in electronic music might not have been but for "No Pussyfooting" and "Evening Star". Indeed few contemporary albums can claim as much lasting influence as "No Pussyfooting" by Fripp & Eno. It's safe to say that for the vast majority of buyers at the time of its initial release in 1973, this was their first exposure to the small world of electronic music. It's equally safe to say it wasn't their last. The equipment used was, by modern standards, primitive. The ideas expressed were, by any standards, enormous. Many went on to have careers based on the possibilities suggested by the album. Fripp & Eno - to their eternal credit - were too busy working as musicians to ever 'milk it' in that sense. One further full album, "Evening Star", was issued in 1975. There were occasional collaborations, but no further recordings under the Fripp & Eno banner until the emergence of "The Equatorial Stars" in late 2004 as a limited edition release via the artists' websites, followed by a full release in 2005 on CD.
However, it was never issued on vinyl, until now.
"The Equatorial Stars" consists of a series of seven soundscapes. The evident care taken in the construction & presentation of the sound world makes the totality of the work so convincing. The textures & atmospheres forming the heart of each track manage to subtly change & alter, while leaving ample space for Robert's guitar solos to emerge from the centre. The album was Fripp & Eno's opportunity to redefine an area of music they helped to launch into the mainstream in the first instance.
It is also, incidentally, Robert Fripp's personal favourite of his many collaborations with Brian Eno.1. Meissa

Harold Budd: RemixesEmerging from the 60s US avant-garde and originally influenced by the likes of John Cage and Morton Feldman, Harold Budd rebelled against the heavily conceptual works of his peers to explore his own artistic path of existential prettiness. His early work caught the ear of Brian Eno, who invited him to England to record his first commercially released work The Pavilion Of Dreams (Obscure - 1978). This working relationship continued over the next decade, producing landmark works such as The Plateaux Of Mirror (EG - 1980) and The Pearl (EG - 1984). He went on to collaborate with other like-minded souls including the Cocteau Twins, John Foxx and Jah Wobble, and release an impressive stream of delicately constructed solo works, many of which have been issued on All Saints.1. Music For Installations (Box Set) (Awaiting Repress)9x Vinyl Box Set
First Time On Vinyl
The legendary Brian Eno is set to release a collection of new, rare and previously unreleased tracks, Music For Installations, through UMG.
The new collection will be available as a 9-LP edition vinyl box set. This is the first time any of the 'Music For Installations' tracks will be available on vinyl.
Musician, producer, visual artist, thinker and activist Brian Eno first came to international prominence in the early 70s as a founding member of Roxy Music, and immediately followed that with a series of critically-praised and influential solo albums. His visionary production work includes albums with David Bowie, Talking Heads, Devo, Laurie Anderson and Coldplay, while his long list of collaborations includes recordings with John Cale, David Byrne, Grace Jones and James Blake.
Less widely discussed, though equally notable and arguably even more prolific, are his visual experiments with light and video. These are the fertile ground from which so much of his other work has grown; they cover an even longer span of time than his recordings and have in recent decades paralleled his musical output.
These highly-acclaimed works have been exhibited all over the globe - from the Venice Biennale and the Marble Palace in St Petersburg to Beijing's Ritan Park and the sails of the Sydney Opera House.
Brian Eno said of the collection: "If you think of music as a moving, changing form, and painting as a still form, what I'm trying to do is make very still music and paintings that move. I'm trying to find in both of those forms, the space in between the traditional concept of music and the traditional concept of painting."
Music For Installations is a collection of new, rare and previously unreleased tracks, all of which will be available on vinyl for the first time. All of the material was recorded by Eno for use in his installations covering the period from 1986 until the present (and beyond). Over this time he has emerged as the leading exponent of generative music worldwide and is recognized as one of the foremost audio-visual installation artists of his time.

Music From The Films Of R. SwiftINST sounds like Brian Eno and Wendy Carlos had a love child in the 70s and subsequently marooned him/her/it on an Oort Cloud. This largely instrumental electronic project may seem out of character for Richard Swift, with his unmistakable beautiful singing voice, melancholic lyrics, and sophisticated songwriting. With this release, he has resurrected the earliest forms of electronic music, thrown in a few dashes of dub, hip-hop, kraut-rock, and Motown, and created a new hybrid dish. Laraaji: RemixesLaraaji is a musician, mystic and laughter meditation practitioner based in New York City. He began playing music on the streets in the 1970s, improvising trance inducing jams on a modified autoharp processed through various electronic effects. Brian Eno saw him playing one night in Washington Square Park and invited him to record an album for his seminal Ambient series (Ambient 3: Day Of Radiance, released 1980). Laraaji went onto release a prolific series of albums for a wide variety of labels, many of which he recorded himself at home and sold as cassettes during his street performances. In recent years he has been collaborating with a new generation of underground musicians, such as the 2011 album he recorded for the acclaimed FRKWYS series with Blues Control (That Healing Feeling). As well as the reissues of his music on All Saints, in the past year he has been included on Light In The Attic compilation I Am The Center: Private Issue New Age Music In America 1950 - 1990, and been a live guest of Deerhunter and Jonathan Wilson.1. A Period of Review (1975-1983) (Awaiting Repress)
Expert Mastering By Greg Davis, Liner Notes By K. Leimer And Dave Segal
Double LP Packaging Features Unique Reverse Flap Exterior, Full Color Eurosleeves, &
For the third installment in RVNG Intl.'s archival series, the tape is wound back to 1970s
Seattle, home place of ambient music savant K. Leimer. A Period of Review (Original
Recordings: 1975-1983) unearths unreleased portions of Leimer's vast archives and
highlights the work of a self-taught visionary whose use of generative compositions ferried
his music to infinite resonance.
Kerry Leimer was born in Winnipeg, Canada. He was raised in Chicago before his family
permanently settled in Seattle in 1967. Kerry's teenage interests and artistic experiments
blossomed from the seductively strange tendrils of Dadaism and Surrealism. In the early 70s,
Leimer found musical parallels to these visual movements by studying import copies of NME
and Melody Maker and inquiring with local record store clerks about the exotic descriptions
he read of Can, Neu! and Faust-innovators who were bringing the wild dictates of 60s art-discourse into music
The tape-manipulated serenity Leimer experienced with Cluster's II was a key revelation.
Leimer realized the potential to compose with minimal training and scoured pawnshops
for cheap instruments and recording equipment to transpose his wayward musical instincts.
Leimer's sound palette and composition soon refined and heightened with the accessibility of
dynamic equipment such as the Micromoog and TEAC multi-track tape machines.
Synchronously, the Terry Riley indebted loop-based compositions of Robert Fripp and
Brian Eno's No Pussyfooting inspired Leimer to form recursive musical passages of bare
timbre and melody that would become hallmarks of his sound. "The loop provided an
instant structure-a sort of fatalism," recollects Leimer in A Period of Review's liner notes. "The
participation of the tape machine in shaping and extending the music was a key to setting
self-deterministic systems in motion and held a clear relationship to my interests in fine art."
The underground music scene of Seattle/Olympia in late 70s was small but seeded.
The vestiges of prog rock pompously pummeled the few clubs and record shops before
punk and New Wave became the rage. Leimer sought to support a growing community of
experimental composers by launching the Palace of Lights record label in 1979 with his wife
Dorothy Cross (this was years prior to the birth of regional titans K Records and Sub Pop).
Leimer rarely performed live, averting the litmus of instant appreciation for his solitary
studio pursuits. Tellingly, the "K." that abbreviated Leimer's first name was a nod to Kafka's
doomed pariah Josef K (from The Trial and The Castle). This gives a sense of the reclusive
and literary realm Leimer was fond of working in. Despite his reticence, Leimer's debut 1980
album Closed System Potentials would reach a receptive audience, and eventually sell more
than 3,000 copies thanks in part to Cross's persistent advocation to independent distributors
A Period of Review focuses on unheard material outside of the work Leimer offered on
Palace of Lights, though even that music could be considered relatively "unheard." The thirty
tracks of A Period of Review may have remained a mystery on moldy reels until now, but
Leimer's entire catalog of generative music remains pristine in its absolute power.
Liner notes were crafted by Seattle writer David Segal. Top-tier mastering was done by
Greg Davis, who produced the compilation with Palace of Lights artist Robert Carlberg, RVNG
and Kerry Leimer himself, who continues making music to this day.LP 1

FearNearly five years into his solo career, Velvet Underground alum John Cale headed to the studio to reinvent himself yet again in 1974. The result, Fear, became the first of a trio of eclectic albums all released in a period spanning just inside 14 months for Island Records. On this, his fourth solo release and first collaboration with Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera and Brian Eno, Cale changes form with every composition.
Back on domestic vinyl for the first time in decades, this RTI-pressed edition of Fear is cut at Mobile Fidelity by in-house engineer Krieg Wunderlich and features stunning sonics. Quiet surfaces, faithful artwork, and the opportunity to hear Cale's incisive fare unfold amidst wide soundstages and black backgrounds-not to mention the intense content within-make this Wax Cathedral LP a must for music aficionados.
A smooth, textured departure from the clamor of the Velvets but a darker, more rage-filled concoction than Cale's 1973 set Paris 1919, Fear amazes with boundless range. Whether he's channeling the sweet, gentle Doctor Jekyll in symphonic ballads like "Emily and Ship of Fools, sharpening his teeth as the demented Mr. Hyde in the graffiti-strewn city-rock anthem "Gun, or thrilling with morbid joy in Fear is a Man's Best Friend," Cale effortlessly metamorphoses from one persona to the next. The whimsical Man Who Couldn't Afford to Orgy bounces into the earnest, misty You Know Me More than I Know."
In the background, Manzanera's guitar buzzes and stings as Eno sculpts a changing landscape of textures with his synthesizer. Infused with sarcastic or cynical lyrics, sweeping melodies, and a wide-eyed sense of exploration, Fear spins rage into beauty and back again.

The ShipHumankind seems to teeter between hubris and paranoia: the hubris of our ever-growing power contrasts with the paranoia that we're permanently and increasingly under threat. At the zenith we realize we have to come down again...we know that we have more than we deserve or can defend, so we become nervous. Somebody, something is going to take it all from us: that is the dread of the wealthy. Paranoia leads to defensiveness, and we all end up in the trenches facing each other across the mud." - Brian Eno The Ship, a new album by Brian Eno, will be released by Warp Records.
The Ship is Eno's first solo record since 2012's Grammy- nominated LUX. Originally conceived from experiments with three dimensional recording techniques and formed in two, interconnected parts, The Ship is almost as much musical novel as traditional album. Eno brings together beautiful songs, minimalist ambience, physical electronics, omniscient narratives and technical innovation into a single, cinematic suite. The result is the very best of Eno, a record without parallel in his catalogue.
The album opens with the 21-minute eponymously titled "The Ship" on which Eno's cyclically sung sea-chant builds in ominous drama, followed by "Fickle Sun", a song in three movements. The first continues where "The Ship" left but with Eno's voice sounding more upfront, determined, even despairing. The album's finale is a Lou Reed penned cover of The Velvet Underground's "I'm Set Free", a band who were famously credited by Eno as the inspiration behind his early music explorations as an art student. Coinciding with The Ship's release, a series of Eno installations will be happening around the world at which you will be able to hear an alternative telling of The Ship in multi-channel 3-dimensional sound installations.1. Its far too easy to abuse the phrase living legend, but when used to describe Robert Wyatt, youre in no danger of hyperbole: gifted songwriter; political activist; drummer in the Canterbury jazz/prog pioneers Soft Machine and contemporaries of the original lineup of Pink Floyd; collaborator with the likes of Brian Eno, David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Fred Frith, Paul Weller, Scritti Politti, Elvis Costello and his beloved wife Alfreda Benge, to name but a few.
Perhaps his greatest gift though is his voice, a reedy instrument of great warmth and emotion; one need only hear his interpretation of the classic Shipbuilding (a song that was written for him by Costello and producer Clive Langer) and you shall be smitten for life. Domino is incredibly honored to be releasing a near-complete re-issue series of Roberts solo recorded works in the form of these limited edition LP+CD versions. Each title is limited to 2000 copies. There will be only one pressing so, once these are gone, they are gone for good.

Remain In LightRanked 126/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Cut from the Original Analog Masters and Pressed at RTI for Stunning Sound!
Formed in the mid 70s by art school chums David Byrne, Chris Franz, and Tina Weymouth and ex-Modern Lover Jerry Harrison, Talking Heads rose out of the CBGB punk crucible and proved themselves one of the most artistically adventurous and influential bands of all time. Their visionary, polyrhythmic sound fused elements including rock, funk, and punk with diverse world beats, avant-garde minimalism, and pure pop genius.
From their 1977 debut through their Brian Eno and self-produced classics and on to their swan song (1988's Steve Lillywhite-produced Naked), Talking Heads constantly broke creative boundaries while also scoring smart radio hits including "Burning Down The House," "Wild Wild Life," and, from 1980's Remain In Light, the brilliant "Once In A Lifetime."
Considered by many fans and critics alike to be the band's best album, Remain In Light was the third release in the Heads/Eno trilogy and fourth overall. More melodic and funkier sounding than that of its predecessors, the recording finds the band further exploring the African rhythms hinted at on 1979's Fear of Music with the help of a growing personnel that now included Adrian Belew (guitar), Bernie Worrell (keyboards), Steven Scales (percussion) and backing vocalists. As propulsive and essential as ever here on 180 gram vinyl courtesy of Warner Bros. Records!
"On this New Wave watershed, the avant-punk avatars became polyrhythmic pop magicians. David Byrne and Co. combined the thrust of P-Funk, the kinky grooves of Afropop and the studied adventurousness of producer Brian Eno - and they still had a pop hit with 'Once in a Lifetime'." - Rolling StoneThe Great Curve

Pure Comedy, Father John Misty's third album, is a complex, often-sardonic, and, equally often, touching meditation on the confounding folly of modern humanity. Father John Misty is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Josh Tillman. Tillman has released two widely acclaimed albums - Fear Fun (2012) and I Love You, Honeybear (2015) - and the recent "Real Love Baby" single as Father John Misty, and recently contributed to songs by BeyoncÉ, Lady Gaga, and Kid Cudi.
While we could say a lot about Pure Comedy - including that it is a bold, important album in the tradition of American songwriting greats like Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, and Leonard Cohen - we think it's best to let its creator describe it himself. Take it away, Mr. Tillman: Pure Comedy is the story of a species born with a half-formed brain. The species' only hope for survival, nding itself on a cruel, unpredictable rock surrounded by other species who seem far more adept at this whole thing (and to whom they are delicious), is the reliance on other, slightly older, half-formed brains. This reliance takes on a few different names as their story unfolds, like "love," "culture," "family," etc. Over time, and as their brains prove to be remarkably good at inventing meaning where there is none, the species becomes the purveyor of increasingly bizarre and sophisticated ironies. These ironies are designed to help cope with the species' loathsome vulnerability and to try and reconcile how disproportionate their imagination is to the monotony of their existence. Something like that.
Pure Comedy was recorded in 2016 at the legendary United Studios (Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Beck) in Hollywood, CA. It was produced by Father John Misty and Jonathan Wilson, with engineering by Misty's longtime sound-person Trevor Spencer and orchestral arrangements by renowned composer/double-bassist Gavin Bryars (known for extensive solo work, and work with Brian Eno, Tom Waits, Derek Bailey).LP 1

Visions of DuneA rare synth classic lovingly reissued, Visions of Dune is French electronic pioneer Bernard Szajner's 1979 concept album based around Frank Herbert's cult Dune Trilogy. Remastered from the original tapes and complimented with a new sleeve reimagined by acclaimed Barcelona-based designer Arnau Pi (Young Turks, DJ Kicks), the reissue also Includes two lost pieces from the original sessions left off because EMI considered them to be "too futuristic"! Fittingly, the release of this alternative soundtrack to Dune coincides with the cinema release of award-winning documentary Jodorowsky's Dune about the failed attempt to adapt the book in the mid-70s by the Chilean director. Often described as the "French Brian Eno", and like his British counterpart he has a parallel career as a successful visual artist. Before he started recording music Z established himself as the mastermind behind innovative lighting production for Gong, Magma, Oliver Messiasen, Stomu Yamashta and The Who. Later he became a pioneer in laser technology and robotics. Bernard has recently returned to making music after a long absence, inspired by the praise of musicians he has inspired such as Detroit techno icon Carl Craig, who cites Szajner's music as being in his "all time top ten".1. Slow DazzleIn 1975, mad scientist and Velvet Underground alum John Cale returned to the lab to record another experiment. Slow Dazzle, his fifth solo album and second collaboration with Roxy Music's Brian Eno and Phil Manzanera, dissects rock and avant-garde, hacks the limbs off of pop and jazz, and fuses the styles together into a limber, impassioned creation.
Back on domestic vinyl for the first time in decades, this RTI-pressed edition of Slow Dazzle is cut at Mobile Fidelity by in-house engineer Krieg Wunderlich and features stunning sonics. Quiet surfaces, faithful artwork, and the opportunity to hear Cale's incisive fare unfold amidst wide soundstages and black backgrounds-not to mention the emotionally unsettling content within-make this Wax Cathedral LP a must for music aficionados.
Sometimes jaunty and beer-soaked, sometimes maniacally spitting into the microphone about killing his wife's lover, sometimes despairing, sometimes sweet, Cale holds forth with schizophrenic authority. Manzanera's sordid guitar dirges ambidextrously switch to cheerful riffs as Eno's synthesizer rubber-bands its way through sunshine and smoke-machine fog. Chris Thomas, who recorded with the Beatles and engineered albums for Pink Floyd and the Sex Pistols, throws haunted violin and dissonant electric piano into the formula.
Whether he's heaping neon sleaze atop earnest surf harmonies in an ode to the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson (Mr. Wilson), lulling you into a blurred, easy-listening trance (Ski Patrol, I'm Not the Loving Kind), or growling a pre-goth era cover of Elvis' Heartbreak Hotel" with mascara-running intensity, Cale delivers an elastic range of artistry. Ditties like "Dirty Ass Rock 'N' Roll" and "Guts" place psychopath tendencies into the body of a catchy pop song, turn up the electricity, twitch, and grab.
By all means, Cale's experiment was a success. Slow Dazzle is alive.1. Mr. Wilson

Country LifeRanked 387/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Country Life is Roxy Music's second release after the departure of Brian Eno and it's arguably the highpoint of the band's ouput from that era. The haunting, melancholic The Thrill of It All, the art-rockin' Out of the Blue, the almost-pure '50s rock of If It Takes All Night, the decadent affectations of A Really Good Time and the concluding Prairie Rose, all offer glimpses of alternative rock before the genre even existed. The combination of textures is exhilarating, and the songwriting which draws on elements of R&B, cabaret music and glam rock is among the band's most accomplished. Give My Love To LondonLegendary British singer Marianne Faithfull will celebrate her storied career's 50th anniversary later this fall with the release of Give My Love to London.
As Marianne Faithfull's 20th studio album, Give My Love To London is the latest installment in an outstanding musical career. A characteristically far-reaching and eclectic offering, Give My Love To London is an album of emotional extremes.
Produced by Rob Ellis and Dimitri Tikovoi and mixed by Flood, it features an impressive roll call of studio collaborators including Adrian Utley
(Portishead), Brian Eno, Ed Harcourt, Warren Ellis and Jim Sclavunos (The Bad Seeds). Songwriting contributors and co-conspirators - with Faithfull
penning the majority of the lyrics - include Nick Cave, Roger Waters, Steve Earle, Tom McRae and Anna Calvi.
While featuring a stellar supporting cast, it is Marianne Faithfulls voice which proves the main attraction. These are songs sung from the heart and soul
and from the perspective of someone who has seen and done it all. Over a fifty year career, she has proved utterly fearless in her music and everything
else besides. Five decades on, Marianne Faithfull remains a unique and compelling musical figure: adventurous in her life, adventurous in her art.1. Give My Love To London (Marianne Faithfull/Steve Earle)
