UNIM-REP-3610xBlack Veil Brides
Black Veil BridesLos Angeles based rockers Black Veil Brides are back with their fourth studio album, self-titled.
The new album was produced by studio legend Bob Rock, known for producing some of rock's most successful albums including Metallica's Black Album
and Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood. The 11 track album features some of the band's most aggressive and diverse songs to date. The album opener and
debut single Heart Of Fire is an upbeat rocker that showcases the band's signature dual-guitar attack and driving rhythm section all behind a positive
lyrical message the band has become known for.
The album cover was designed by longtime friend and previous album cover illustrator, Richard Villa.
Black Veil Brides have been continually building momentum and expanding their ever-growing "BVB Army" since the release of their first album We Stitch
These Wounds. Their debut song "Knives And Pens" has been viewed over 100 million times on YouTube. The band have also released critically-acclaimed albums: Set The World On Fire and Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones respectively. Their last release landed at #7 on the
Billboard 200 selling over 42,000 copies its first week. Black Veil Brides recently won an award at the inaugural Alternative Press Music Award in

The Sleeve Features Original Artwork By Vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe
Ex-Anathema Drummer Shaun 'Winter' Taylor-Steels Returned To MDB For This Release
The Single Track '27 Minute' Epic Is Now Available On Vinyl
My Dying Bride has been the leading light of doom metal since the debut album As The Flower Withers was released on Peaceville Records back in 1992. Influenced by acts such as Celtic Frost and Candlemass, the band's heavy atmospherics have carved a huge worldwide following over the years and they remain at the pinnacle of the genre and one of the most instantly distinguishable metal bands. This single track, 27-minute epic represents the epitome of poetic grace and funeral soundscapes from one of gothic doom's most celebrated acts. With a masterful blend of pounding guitar riffs, and sombre atmospheric passages, My Dying Bride takes you through the chilling tale of a supernatural entity hell bent on revenge. 'The Barghest O' Whitby' was recorded at Futureworks Studios, Manchester with long-time production partner & engineer, Mags. The release was the first to feature violin/keyboardist Shaun Macgowan and saw the return of Shaun Winter Taylor-Steels to the drum-stool. The sleeve cover features the original artwork by vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe. This version of 'The Barghest O' Whitby' will be released on vinyl and presented in single packaging and will precede their forthcoming new studio album with Nuclear Blast.1. Which Way The Wind BlowsBaltimore, MD's Octaves have laid fairly dormant since releasing their debut, Greener Pastures, almost exactly three years ago in April 2010. But they've used the time wisely, solidifying a lineup and honing their sound to create their first proper full-length, Which Way the Wind Blows. A series of chaotic left turns and disjointed, spastic rhythms, Octaves craft intricate post-hardcore intercut with strained, barked turns of phrase and corrosive, atmospheric guitar layering.1. Hold It In (Awaiting Repress)The Melvins return with Hold It In, their first studio album as a quartet since 2010's The Bride Screams Murder. Joining Buzz Osborne and
Dale Crover for the 12-song outing are Butthole Surfers' guitar player Paul Leary and bass player JD Pinkus. Hold It In was recorded in both Los Angeles
and Austin earlier this year.
Hold It In is a refreshing piece of fiction in a boring world of fact and bullshit, said Osborne. Paul is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard and
Pinkus has an outside the box type of approach to both guitar and bass that you just have to let it ride. I can't believe this actually happened. I'm thrilled.
It's very rare you get a chance to work with three folks from the 'Break A Wish' foundation, all at the same time, said Pinkus. I believe they'll remember

The Great Cold DistanceHailed as one of the leaders of the death-doom genre alongside My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost, Sweden's Katatonia have spent 25 years constantly evolving into the much-loved purveyor of dark progressive rock/metal they are today.
2016 marks not only the band's 25th anniversary, but also 10 years since the release of their highly regarded Peaceville album The Great Cold Distance.
Founding guitarist Anders Nystrom comments:
Looking back at our set lists from a historic perspective, it dawned on us that there's been no other album from which we've played more songs than The Great Cold Distance, so in the light of its 10th anniversary, it's with much pride and joy that we announce the ultimate edition featuring all the scattered bits and pieces related to this album.LP 1

Dark SnackWho in tarnation is making all that racket, peeling out of the driveway and disappearing into the night? Oh come on, folks, you know that voice cackling from behind the wheel - once you've heard the unmistakable Mississippi drawl of Melissa Swingle, you just don't just walk off and forget it. That voice owns everything it touches - from swampy, Southern rockers Trailer Bride where Swingle once mined the dark and gloomy road with the best of the No Depression crowd to her new Chapel Hill duo, The Moaners. With The Moaners, she's ditched the dirges in favor of an Impala--trunkload full of rock, a cat named Squirrel and a cooler of Sparks tall boys (caffeinated malt liquor - and Sparks, if you're listening, they're waiting by the phone for a promotions deal). The newfound voltage relies in no small part on the pounding drum assault of Swingle's shotgun-riding cohort, Laura King (who played in Grand National with Ed From Ohio Crawford of FIREHOSE).Heart Attack

Basses LoadedIt's 2016 and the Melvins have an album called Basses Loaded coming out that features six different bass players. That's right SIX different bass players. NEW Melvins bass players for this go around are Steve McDonald from the legendary Los Angeles glam punk band Redd Kross and their old friend Krist Novoselic from Nirvana! Making return appearances are former and probably future bass players Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers), Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle/Fantomas), Jared Warren (Big Business) and Dale Crover.
Six bass players? Is this a joke? What IS the deal with these ceaseless idiots? Can't they just settle in and be happy with ONE line up?
I suppose it figures considering how many goddam bass players they've had up until this point.
Nonetheless Basses Loaded actually works!
According to King Buzzo, "More is more! As hard as it might be to believe, all of these bass players contribute something of their own to Basses Loaded which gives the whole album a good kick right in it's big fat ass."
Recording with Krist Novoselic is something that should have happened a long time ago but rumor has it that he's been busy doing things like playing bass with Paul McCartney and getting his ass inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's hard to believe he even bothered with this! Ha!
Butthole Surfer and Honky member Jeff Pinkus played on the Melvins' album Hold it In and has done shit load of touring with the boys in the last few years.
Trevor Dunn recorded the Freak Puke album with these guys as well as played bass on the Melvins' record setting US tour where they played all 50 states plus DC in 51 days. This was also released as a tour DVD last year entitled Across the USA in 51 Days, the Movie!
Jared Warren is a Melvins' veteran having recorded the Senile Animal, Nude with Boots and The Bride Screamed Murder albums as well as the Bulls and the Bees EP. Dale Crover is usually the Melvins drummer but slid over to bass when they brought back original drummer Mike Dillard for the Tres Cabrones album (this line-up was called Melvins 1983).
Steve McDonald has been in Redd Kross since he was 11 and he's a founding member of Los Angeles hardcore band OFF! plus he's got REALLY good stories about the "rock scene" in Los Angeles! The Melvins have a shit load of touring planned with Steven this year so this whole thing is a really big deal.1. The Decay of Lying (Steve McDonald)

I Had A Dream That You Were MineIncludes Limited Edition 14-page Booklet Of Handwritten Lyrics
I Had A Dream That You Were Mine is an album of songs Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam wrote and recorded together between July, 2014 and February, 2016. In the spirit of collaborative albums, not unlike those of David Byrne and Brian Eno, each musician's individuality remains in tact, while in fact, on this record, both Hamilton's identity as a singer and Rostam's as a producer seem to reach new heights.
This was a record I d been wanting to make for at least a decade, Rostam says. As a fan of Hamilton's voice in the Walkmen I'd been wanting to capture it in ways it hadn't been captured before to make songs with him that placed the crooner right beside the howler, the screamer beside the whisperer to try to leave no stone unturned in terms of how we should approach the delivery of a song. And also to try to push his voice outside of any musical context it had lived in before.
Says Leithauser, Rostam's one-man-band process is so fundamentally different from the way I've always written songs, and it's very impressive. We had no idea what kind of music we were going to make we actually didn't know we were working on an album at first but unexpected things kept falling into place. We were writing and recording everything simultaneously it was flat-out inspiring just to be there.
Many of these songs seem to take place in a memory of New York's past, or wading through the waist high waters in a half-submerged New York of the future. Yet what unites them is that they tell stories. I Had A Dream That You Were Mine is an album, a collection of songs yes, but also a collection of narratives. 'The Bride's Dad' faithfully recounts an unexpected (an probably uninvited) guest at a friend's recent wedding; 'You Ain't That Young Kid' follows the wistful narrator through a night of lost love and transformed resolve.
From the doo-wop of 'When the Truth is...' to the country pedal steel of 'The Morning Stars'; from the piano and organ alchemy of the 'Band in A 1000 Times', to the Leonard Cohen-esque Spanish triplets of 'In a Black Out'; the album harnesses the exploding musical styles of midcentury America which, when melded with the warbled 1980s analogue synthesizers of 'You Ain't That Young Kid,' the ultramodern sub bass of 'Sick as a Dog,' the intimate falsetto of '1959,' and the raucous bar-room chorus of 'Rough Going' sparks an entirely unexpected and innovative style.1. Masterpieces (Pure Pleasure)When Ellington went into the studio in 1950 to record the longer tracks on this LP, his orchestra was a bridge between its late-1940's configuration (the 5-man trumpet section) and its mid-1950's personnel. The sax section had settled into the form it would have for most of the ensuing two decades (old-timers Hodges and Carney and newcomers Procope, Hamilton and Gonsalves); the trombone section had long-timer Lawrence Brown as well as Tyree Glenn and newcomer Quentin Jackson; and the drummer was still Sonny Greer, who had anchored the rhythm section since the beginning.
The arrangements and orchestrations all bear the hallmarks of Ellington's collaboration with Billy Strayhorn in the late 1940's: they are lush, symphonic, impressionistic, and densely (and adventurously) harmonic. Mood Indigo, in particular, is a 15-minute tone-poem with shifting colors and key relationships as Ellington and Strayhorn bring the melody through a wide variety of guises, from Glenn's wah-wah trombone solo to Shorty Baker's lyrical waltz to orchestral and piano passages which do homage to the influence which Ravel and Stravinsky had on both of them.
The Tattooed Bride is the only new piece from the original Masterpieces by Ellington LP, and it is a beauty. The others of the original tracks -- Sophistocated Lady and Solitude -- are not laid out as inventively in their harmonics or structure. Of the group, Solitude is perhaps the weakest, but this is a relative term. Ellington would go on to pen many more extended, symphonic works, but none would have quite the multicolored, impressionistic tone-pallate that these do. And Strayhorn's presence would not be as pronounced in those future works as it is here: the orchestration and harmonies in particular bear his mark. These are masterpieces indeed: great works of art by two of our greatest composers/orchestrators, and played by one of the greatest orchestras in Afro-American music. - Andrew R. Weiss

About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.1. Mood Indigo

Wall Of Sound (Awaiting Repress)I thought WALL OF SOUND would be the toughest album I would ever make. I was so satisfied with my previous album, INFERNO, more than I have ever been in my whole career. Musically, sonically, and most importantly, I was satisfied with the melodies and soundscapes on a personal level. It was as if I finally found the key to something.
Even as I was still working on INFERNO, I was thinking, how the hell am I ever going to top this next time? I was doomed.
I started WALL OF SOUND with a daunting blank slate and somehow, ideas came out. Refined ideas, complex ideas, small and large scale ideas and plenty of them.
It was as if the exhaustive process of putting INFERNO together strengthened a new creative muscle that I had never zoned in on before, so the first steps of writing WALL OF SOUND felt like a runner who runs a marathon after over-training for a long time. I was well warmed up.
The guitar playing on the album also came quite easy, despite it being without question the most evolved guitar playing of my career. It's a challenge to evolve on one's instrument album after album, especially on your 13th solo album. Luckily this is a challenge that I love. You will find this hard to believe when you hear the density and sheer amount of guitar coming at you from all directions, but in fact, all of the final guitar tracks on WALL OF SOUND were done in 9 days.
This furious and productive pace was made possible by over a year of making demo after demo and spending more time listening and living with the music rather than playing it. I had lived with the songs and edited them so incredibly many times, that by the time I got to the actual recording studio, it was like I had been playing the whole album on tour for a year already. I learned to do this from making INFERNO. This is why a lot of artists` debut albums are so strong - because they have had so much time to reflect on and fix the music, and also, more importantly, attach real life experiences to the songs. I feel like I have a debut album here.
Jinxx from Black Veil Brides and I wanted to do something that would shock his fans and my fans. I arranged a monster of a tune called Sorrow & Madness based on a melody that Jinxx wrote on the violin. I took his sweet melody and added so many twists and turns that it became a mammoth of Martyisms in tandem with a large side of Jinxx that has yet to be heard by his fans. We are both very proud of what happened.
I think Deafheaven is the one heavy band that comes to mind when people ask me to recommend something that`s not Japanese!, I was super excited to work with Shiv from Deafheaven. We wrote Pussy Ghost together and it is one of the most aggressive songs I have ever played, while at the same time evoking grotesquely beautiful moods that I have never felt before. One thing I learned from making INFERNO is that when you have a guest, let them come up with music first. Let it be their baby, so they are personally invested in the song. Then arrange it and do it my way, then add more things together. This gives you a final song that really sounds like both of the people put their heart and souls into the music, as opposed to one guy doing everything and the guest just blasting out a solo somewhere.
Jorgen from Shining also guested on INFERNO and when we finished that song we immediately started talking about what we would do next. For those who don`t know Shining, they are like a steroided out and genius level musicianed out version of Nine Inch Nails for the 21st century, with a charismatic singer/composer (Jorgen) and a wicked sense of melody, that hits me in the gut on every song. (Just Gimme) Something To Fight is the one vocal track on the record and it kills. Even after finishing this song we have started working on more new things for who know what
Having super engineer Paul Fig (Ghost, Alice in Chains, Rush), mixer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Lamb of God) and even the producer responsible for many of Queen's biggest hits and my idol Brian May's guitar sounds, Mack do the mixing on 2 of the songs on the album, is an honor for me for sure.1. Andando El Tiempo
Carla Bley: Piano
Andy Sheppard: Tenor Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone
Steve Swallow: Bass
Andando el Tiempo features new music of wide emotional compass by Carla Bley, and underlines her originality and resourcefulness as a jazz composer. "Saints Alive!" sets up animated conversations between the participants with striking statements from Steve Swallow's bass guitar and Andy Sheppard's soprano sax. The stately "Naked Bridges/Diving Brides" draws inspiration from Mendelssohn and the poetry of Paul Haines. And the powerful three part title composition - which addresses the trials and tribulations of recovery from addiction - moves through sorrow to hopefulness and joy. The trio with Sheppard and Swallow has been an ideal vehicle for Carla's writing for more than 20 years and also provides one of the best contexts for her unique piano playing. Like the critically lauded ECM album Trios (2012), Andando el Tiempo was recorded at Lugano's RSI Studio and produced by Manfred Eicher.1. Gefion

Tomorrow The Green GrassOn Tomorrow the Green Grass, the Jayhawks found themselves in the tricky situation of trying to match the quality of Hollywood Town Hall without simply repeating themselves, and they came remarkably close to achieving that daunting task. Rather than simply mimic the warm and unaffected sound of Hollywood Town Hall, the Jayhawks reached for a broader and more eclectic approach on Tomorrow the Green Grass; with the presence of new keyboard player Karen Grotberg and the addition of strings on several tracks, the album certainly sounded fuller and more artful, but Mark Olson and Gary Louris' harmonies were still the band's secret weapon, and were as pure and emotionally compelling as ever, while Louris' electric guitar solos gave the songs real rock & roll muscle without disturbing the essentially gentle nature of their music. And the best songs on Tomorrow the Green Grass are every bit as good as anything on Hollywood Town Hall, especially the opening hat trick of Blue, I'll Run Away, and Miss Williams' Guitar (the latter a joyous love letter to Olson's new bride, Victoria Williams). But while nearly every song on Hollywood Town Hall seemed like a classic in context, the greater stylistic variety of Tomorrow the Green Grass had the consequence of making a few of the songs in the second half of the album seem less than essential, most notably Ann Jane and Pray for Me, though they hardly counted as disappointments, and the album rallies to a rousing finale with Ten Little Kids. If Hollywood Town Hall is inarguably the Jayhawks' best album, Tomorrow the Green Grass runs a very close second, and though it was to be the group's last album with Mark Olson, the eclectic approach pointed the way to the sound and style of the fine records the Louris-led version of the band would go on to make.

Available On Vinyl Again For The First Time In Over A Decade
The Aislers Set occupy an enviable place in the pop pantheon. Brimming with
drunken romanticism, sharp pop sensibilities, and timeless melodies, The Aislers
Set reveled in the history of great pop, spiking their classicist 60s-tinged tunes
with pure post-punk energy and originality of bands like the Fire Engines and
The June Brides. Every song is a meticulously constructed sound world, where the
arrangement and instrumentation sublimely and uncannily bring each tune to
Edgy and baroque, the band's final release How I Learned To Write Backwards
expertly wound together countless strands of pop history with personality and
atmosphere. Using the past as inspiration rather than blueprint, the echoes you
might hear of Phil Spector's Wall of Sound or Laura Nyro's soulful lyricism are
so well-integrated into The Aislers' sound that they're more akin to the spice in
the stew rather than the stock of the soup.
Although they stopped playing and recording together by 2004 due to life
commitments, their reputation has only grown; sporadic reunion shows and
mini-tours have been met with rapturous response. Alas, Suicide Squeeze is
proud to present the 2014 reissue of the seminal album "How I Learned To Write
Backwards" remastered and resequenced by John Greenham at Infrasonic
Sound in Los Angeles, and on vinyl LP again for the first time in over a decade.
The band will play a select set of shows this fall, and Suicide Squeeze and
Slumberland Records will be teaming up to co-release a new album of singles
and rarities to be released in early 2015.1. Catherine Says

Pleasure BoyMusic often comes from a deep place, and in the case of Hannah Cohen's stunning and heartrending second album, it's very deep indeed. Mainly inspired by a painful break-up and the anxieties that loss can trigger, Pleasure Boy cushions its sadness in an exquisitely nuanced soundscape of aching melancholy and lush melody where Hannah's vocal conveys all the different shades of heartbreak. Following the album's completion, she's survived the calamity and found a new level of happiness, but to paraphrase the classic Sixties hit, there will always be something there to remind her with Pleasure Boy.
'Pleasure Boy', like her debut 'Child Bride', was produced by Thomas Bartlett, aka Doveman, whose work with artists such as The National, Antony Hegarty and David Byrne singles him out as one of America's current finest producers and collaborators, though he's also a talented pianist. The dynamics of 'Pleasure Boy' was the result of Hannah and Bartlett, "bunkering down with my songs, experimenting with different tones and sounds, and layering them. My first record was so airy and roomy, I didn't have patience for that again, I wanted more movement, something more mysterious and witchier, so we created this sound wall together."
"I wanted the music to hurt, to have a visceral effect," Hannah says. Her voice sometimes sounds delirious or icy; other times she recalls the vulnerable, piercing beauty of Harriet Wheeler (The Sundays) and Karen Peris (The Innocence Mission). But Pleasure Boy's sound wouldn't exist without the vision that launched it. The album title arrived as the record took shape. "Pleasure Boy is a character of who it's about, someone who represents gluttony and decadence and richness," Hannah explains. She admits it was a tough record to make, given she was aiming to heal emotionally while feeling "devastated and hurt. But it wouldn't be the record it is if I hadn't done that."1. Keepsake

Off The Beaten Path (Deluxe)Justin Moore s always had a thing about doing it his way. Call it stubborn redneck mettle, a well-developed case of who I am or just the fierce commitment to blaze a trail inherent to people from his home of Poyen, Arkansas. It doesn t mat ter why, just that the blazing sense of off the beaten path drives his album of the same name.
There s a strong vein of tenderness and decency holding Moore s kind of country together. Look no further than Rhett Atkins/Ben Hayslip/Ross Copperman-written Point At You, the lead single, that acknowledges every wild hair Moore has, but hits the bottom line of his goodness via the woman who became his bride.
Get loud, get rowdy, but get home and emerge solid family men dedicated to some basic ideals that have defined this country. One need look no further than The Warren Brothers/Lance Miller/Austin Cunningham-penned opener Old Back In The New School to understand Moore is all about the things that last, the wild times and the enduring values making for a way of life worth living.
It s that kind of edge that draws a singer like Miranda Lambert to duet on the somber heartbreaker Old Habits. A little bit rowdy, a little bit sentimental, a whole lotta roughneck, Moore has dented the country radio charts with three #1s in the anything but big city Small Town USA, the sentimental family embracing If Heaven Weren t So Far Away and the fidelity pledge Til My Last Day, in addition to the Top 10 mission declaration Backwoods.
But the hits don t really tell the whole story. This is the man whose first single a digital only release was I Could Kick Your Ass, who flexed his sense of humor with the new guy mocking Bait A Hook and unapologetically throw down How I Got To Be This Way. And long before booty country became a touchstone, Moore dropped the swaggering Back That Thing Up.
Indeed, Booty Country is full force on OFF THE BEATEN PATH. He has the Kim Kardashian and J-Lo invoking I d Want It To Be Yours co-written with Stover and Brandon Kinney and the slip into the night guitar grinder Off The Beaten Path that slithers through the Patron and the moonlight.Good ole boys doing what they re good at. Moore has built a career eschewing the path most taken, building a fanbase of people just like him.
Take a certain amount of swagger, add some hard-rocking guitars and add Country Radio, a howler that celebrates the ultimate lube for escaping the boredom and expectations. There s the same kind of bulked up, bearing down picture of pride of Lettin the Night Roll, pure freedom and the will to be alive.
Two strong hands, a back that can shoulder anything, this is working man s post-modern American and that respect is what binds him to his woman in That s How I Know You Love Me. Ultimately, she refuses to make him change, and takes what s there for what it is, loving him for all its busted glory.
To believe in values that last, to embrace what is enough and know it s more than plenty, that is the greatest truth for a man like Moore, who sees no reason to leave the place he grew up. Beyond the hits, the gold-certified albums and the momentum of a career hitting its stride, OFF THE BEATEN PATH is a collection of classic postcards that make up the ascending This Kind of Town and the driving chugger One Dirt Road.
You don t have to take it from Moore, though. No less than the great Charlie Daniels, a man who s hung tough for hardcore old school values is featured on For Some Ol Redneck Reason, a pledge of allegiance to living true to principles and never giving into convention. This is one of the truest event moments as Moore dials it back, unfurling the map of his heart and soul.1. Old Back In The New School

The Thrash Of Naked Limbs (Out of Stock)My Dying Bride are undisputed legends of the UK metal and doom scenes, having existed for over 25 years, with a consistent string of releases - both as originators and innovators - helping to shape the extreme metal scene since the early 90's, culminating in tours with acts such as Iron Maiden and Dio.
'The Thrash of Naked Limbs' came amidst an intensely creative period for the band in their formative years. The EP arrived swiftly on the back of their debut album, 'As the Flower Withers', and helped solidify My Dying Bride's reputation as firm upcoming leaders of the UK gothic doom/death metal scene alongside countrymen Paradise Lost. With the ongoing use of violin to assist with the unique atmosphere created by My Dying Bride, the title track itself is a creeping doom epic of haunting beauty and savagery in equal measure - a revered motif of the band. The EP also contains the additional songs, 'Le Cerf Malade' and 'Gather Me Up Forever'.
'The Thrash of Naked Limbs' was recorded at the band's long time haunt, Academy Studios, known for its own involvement with groundbreaking UK doom releases for years, and was engineered by Mags, who remains a close production associate of the band to this day. My Dying Bride had recently returned to Academy for the recording of their 2015 opus, 'Feel the Misery'.
This edition of 'The Thrash of Naked Limbs' is presented on 12" vinyl and features the original cover artwork created by Aaron Stainthorpe of the band.1. The Thrash Of Naked Limbs

My Dying Bride has been the leading force in the death/doom metal genre since their inception in the early 1990's and have gone on to forge a legacy of greatness in the field over the past 2 decades, since 1992's debut release, 'As The Flower Withers'.
My Dying Bride's distinctively sumptuous dual guitar melodies effortlessly flood into juggernaut doom metal riffs, with the vocals of Aaron Stainthorpe weaving a rich tapestry of tragic tales into the accompanying soundscapes. 'A Map of all our Failures' is perhaps best and most effectively summarized by guitarist Andrew Craighan, who describes the album as "a controlled demolition of all your hopes".1. Kneel till Doomsday
