The long out-of-print LPs are available remastered for the first time on vinyl. In addition to Springsteen's four studio albums from the era, the boxed set includes a special 12" of 1988's live EP Chimes of Freedom, Springsteen's 1993 two-LP MTV Plugged special, and the first-ever vinyl release of the 1996 Blood Brothers EP for a total of 10 discs. Lake Placid, NY native Lana Del Rey is a throwback singer/songwriter whose stage name combines that of the late Hollywood actress Lana Turner and the Ford Del Rey. Pop's newest femme fatale calls herself the gangsta Nancy Sinatra and cites Kurt Cobain, Thomas Newman and Bruce Springsteen as musical influences. She released an EP entitled Kill Kill in 2009 under the name Lizzy Grant and also recorded a full-length album on an independent label with producer David Kahne, which was released for a brief time before it was pulled due to lack of label support. Born To Die is her highly anticipated official debut release on Interscope Records featuring the viral firestorm hits Video Games and Blue Jeans. Her much talked about appearance on Saturday Night Live on January 15, 2012 marked the first artist since Natalie Imbruglia in 1998 to perform before the release of her debut album.

    Born To Run

Ranked 18/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Mastered By Bob Ludwig Working Under The Supervision Of Springsteen & Engineer Toby Scott

Bruce Springsteen spent everything he had - patience, energy, studio time, the physical endurance of his E Street Band - to make his masterpiece. There are a dozen guitar overdubs on the title track alone. The album became a monster, Springsteen recalled. But in making his third album, he was living out the central drama in its gun-the-engine rock & roll: the fight to reconcile big dreams with crushing reality. He found it so hard to re-create the sound in his head - the Jersey-bar dynamite of his live gigs, Phil Spector's grandeur, Roy Orbison's melodrama - that he nearly gave up and put out a live album. But his attention to detail produced a timeless record about the labors and glories of aspiring to greatness.

Darkness On The Edge Of Town

Ranked 150/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Mastered By Bob Ludwig Working Under The Supervision Of Springsteen & Engineer Toby Scott

Coming three years and one extended court battle after Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge of Town was highly anticipated. Some attributed the album's embattled tone to Bruce Springsteen's legal troubles, but it carried on from Born to Run, in which Springsteen had first begun to view his colorful cast of characters as losers. On Darkness, he began to see them as the working class: his characters, some of whom he inhabited and sang for in the first person, had little and were in danger of losing even that. Their only hope for redemption lay in working harder, and their only escape lay in driving. Springsteen presented these hard truths in hard rock settings, the tracks paced by powerful drumming and searing guitar solos. Though not as heavily produced as Born to Run, Darkness was given a full-bodied sound; Springsteen's stories were becoming less heroic, but his musical style remained grand; the sound, and the conviction in his singing, added weight to songs like Racing in the Street and the title track, transforming the pathetic into the tragic. But despite the rock & roll fervor, Darkness was no easy listen, and it served notice that Springsteen was already willing to risk his popularity for his principles.

Now considered one of the greatest rock acts of all time, the early years for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band were anything but smooth sailing. Despite critical acclaim, Springsteen's 1973 albums Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J. and The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle failed to make much commercial impact, and his frustration at such has been well-documented. In an effort to boost sales, Bruce and the band played a number of radio shows across the country during 1973 and 1974, largely playing acoustically during these appearances. Although the radio shows ultimately had little impact on early sales of the albums, the sets resulted in some of the finest moments of Springsteen's early career, and two such events are captured in their entirety on this release.

    Chapter And Verse

'Chapter and Verse,' the audio companion to Bruce Springsteen's extraordinary forthcoming autobiography, will be released on Columbia Records. The career-spanning compilation will be released four days before Simon & Schuster publishes 'Born to Run.' Five of the album's 18 tracks have not been previously released.

Springsteen selected the songs on 'Chapter and Verse' to reflect the themes and sections of 'Born to Run.' The compilation begins with two tracks from The Castiles, featuring a teenaged Springsteen on guitar and vocals, and ends with the title track from 2012's 'Wrecking Ball.' The collected songs trace Springsteen's musical history from its earliest days, telling a story that parallels the one in the book.

Recordings from Steel Mill and The Bruce Springsteen Band feature musicians who would go on to play in The E Street Band. Solo demos of "Henry Boy" and "Growin' Up" were cut in 1972 shortly before Springsteen began recording his debut album, 'Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.'

On 9th December 1995 Springsteen performed at Philadelphia's Tower Theater, a number of tracks from which were broadcast across the US on a variety of FM Radio Stations, as part of a radio programme called 'Bruce Springsteen's Radio Hour'. In addition to the 10 songs broadcast, Bruce also completed a lengthy 35-minute interview with DJ/Presenter Bob Castos - also aired as part of the radio hour - which was recorded a few days earlier at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Brick, New Jersey, during which The Boss gave his own, detailed take on his new acoustic album.

21 Tracks Spread Out Over Three High-quality, 180 Gram Vinyl LPs. Lyrics To All Of The Songs, A New Essay From Bruce Springsteen And Never-before-seen Photographs From The "Darkness" Sessions Are Also Included

Darkness was my 'samurai' record, Springsteen writes, stripped to the frame and ready to rumble." But the music that got left behind was substantial. For the first time, fans will have access to 21 previously-unreleased songs from the Darkness recording sessions, songs that, as Springsteen writes, perhaps could have/should have been released after Born To Run and before the collection of songs that Darkness on the Edge of Town became.

Highlights include the extraordinary rock version of Racing in the Street, the never-before-released original recordings of Because the Night, Fire, and Rendezvous, the supreme pop opus Someday (We'll Be Together), the hilarious Ain't Good Enough for You, the superb soul-based vocal performance on The Broken Hearted, the utterly haunting Breakaway, and the now finally released, fully orchestrated masterpiece and title song, The Promise. All 21 songs have been mixed by Springsteen's long-time collaborator, Bob Clearmountain. According to long-time manager/producer Jon Landau, There isn't a weak card in this deck. The Promise is simply a great listening experience.

    The River

Ranked 253/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Mastered By Bob Ludwig Working Under The Supervision Of Springsteen & Engineer Toby Scott

The River is the fifth studio album, and the first double album by Bruce Springsteen.

The sources of The River go back into earlier parts of Springsteen's recording career. Independence Day, Point Blank, The Ties That Bind, Ramrod, and Sherry Darling were leftovers from his previous album, Darkness on the Edge of Town, and had been featured on the 1978 tour, as had parts of Drive All Night as a long interpolation within Backstreets. The River had premiered at the September 1979 Musicians United for Safe Energy concerts, gaining a featured spot in the subsequent documentary No Nukes.

Originally, Springsteen intended The River to be a single set entitled The Ties That Bind and released in late 1979 with 10 tracks. Springsteen added darker material after he'd written the title track. Indeed, The River became noted for its mix of the frivolous next to the solemn. This was intentional, and in contrast to Darkness, for as Springsteen said during an interview, Rock and roll has always been this joy, this certain happiness that is in its way the most beautiful thing in life. But rock is also about hardness and coldness and being alone ... I finally got to the place where I realized life had paradoxes, a lot of them, and you've got to live with them.

    Working On A Dream

Bruce Springsteen's new album Working on a Dream was recorded with the E Street Band and features twelve new Springsteen compositions plus the bonus tracks The Wrestler, from the Darren Aronofsky film of the same name and A Night With the Jersey Devil.

Springsteen explains, Towards the end of recording Magic, excited by the return to pop production sounds, I continued writing. When my friend producer Brendan O'Brien heard the new songs, he said, 'Let's keep going.' Over the course of the next year, that's just what we did, recording with the E Street Band during the breaks on last year's tour. I hope Working on a Dream has caught the energy of the band fresh off the road from some of the most exciting shows we've ever done. All the songs were written quickly, we usually used one of our first few takes, and we all had a blast making this one from beginning to end.

Working on a Dream is Bruce Springsteen's twenty-fourth album and it was recorded and mixed at Southern Tracks in Atlanta, GA with additional recording in New York City, Los Angeles and New Jersey.

    Roadhouse Sun

With a writing style that echoes the working-man sympathy anthems of Woody Guthrie combined with the folky nature of Bob Dylan and a voice that mirrors Bruce Springsteen's, Ryan Bingham is quickly making a name for himself as one of the up and coming Texas bred songwriters. Born in Hobbs, New Mexico, and raised in rural Texas towns like Spring and Stephenville, Bingham made his living as a bullrider on the Texas rodeo circuit. He entertained his rodeo buddies with songs while selling his self-produced records at small clubs and rodeos along the way. His songwriting and voice soon got him noticed by idol and mentor Joe Ely along with Terry Allen, Guy Clark and other Texas legends. His major label debut, 2007's Mescalito, bears the hardscrabble marking of someone accustomed to the tough life. It veers from campfire balladry to ragged roots rock that bristles with roadhouse energy, wrote No Depression. Bingham's major label follow-up Roadhouse Sun is set for release in May of 2009 from Lost Highway Records.

Ranked 133/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Mastered By Bob Ludwig Working Under The Supervision Of Springsteen & Engineer Toby Scott

The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. It was recorded by Springsteen with the E Street Band at 914 Sound Studios in Blauvelt, New York. The album includes the song Rosalita (Come Out Tonight), the band's most-used set-closing song for the first 10 years of its career.

As with Springsteen's first album released earlier in the year, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle was well-received critically but had little commercial success at the time. However, once Springsteen achieved popularity with Born to Run, several selections from this album became popular FM radio airplay and concert favorites. On November 7, 2009, Springsteen and the E Street Band played the album in its entirety for the first time ever in a concert at Madison Square Garden.[2]

    Dress Rehearsal Broadcast 1992

Limited Edition 140 Gram Clear Colored Vinyl

Following stupendous international success throughout the 1980s, the early '90s were an oddly subdued time for Bruce Springsteen. He had not put out a new album since '87's Tunnel Of Love, had dissolved his usual cohorts, the E Street Band, in 1989, and married long time backing singer Patti Scialfa. Now living in L.A. and working with session musicians, there had been grumblings from the Springsteen faithful by the time Human Touch and Lucky Town were released simultaneously on 31st March 1992.

The World Tour performed in support of these records - which ran for a full 12 months, from June 1992 and took in shows across the US, Canada and Europe, was preceded by a 'dress rehearsal broadcast' - a live performance in front of an invited audience and competition winners, recorded at the Hollywood Center Studios in L.A., 10 days before the tour proper kicked off in Stockholm.

The words 'legendary', 'seminal' and 'classic' are very often over-used in the heated hyperbole that surround rock concerts in general and Bruce Springsteen gigs in particular.

However, this recording of a concert Bruce and the E-Street Band played in Philadelphia in February 1975 really is that of a legendary Springsteen show. This is a seminal moment in his career, a classic performance and an essential part of any fan's library of The Boss' work.

On November 18, 1975, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band made their first concert appearance outside of America, at London's Hammersmith Odeon. Born to Run had been released three months earlier, and Springsteen had famously appeared on the covers of Time and Newsweek three weeks before the Hammersmith gig-was the rest of the world finally ready for him? More than 40 years later, Hammersmith Odeon London '75 answers with a resounding "yes"-and now, for the first time on vinyl, fans can experience the magic of that unforgettable night.

Dire Straits Expand Musical Framework And Come Into Own On Making Movies: Co-Produced By Jimmy Iovine, Thematic Album Soars With Personal Songwriting And Epic Arrangements

Cinematic Landscapes And Intricate Passages Sound Sublime: Mobile Fidelity 45RPM 2LP Pressing Of Making Movies Mastered From Original Master Tapes, Features Audiophile Dynamics

Bruce Springsteen Pianist Roy Bittan, Mark Knopfler's Guitar Playing, And Passionate Performances Turn Making Movies Into A Classic: Includes Romeo And Juliet, Tunnel Of Love, Solid Rock

Making Movies marks a magnificent turning point in Dire Straits' career. Considered by many fans to be the group's most complete album, the 1980 set witnesses leader Mark Knopfler greatly expanding his songwriting palette and setting his storytelling amidst more complex, involving arrangements. Dire Straits also benefits from crucial contributions from Bruce Springsteen pianist Roy Bittan and the departure of rhythm guitarist David Knopfler. The songs spark with a m√Člange of poetry, passion, and cohesion that engages the senses and begs to be experienced again and again.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's 180g 45RPM 2LP set of Making Movies breathes with reference-caliber airiness, spaciousness, dynamics, and separation. Produced by Jimmy Iovine and Knopfler, the record - which contains many Springsteen-esque elements - features the cleanliness and clarity that have long been Dire Straits trademarks. The extra-wide 45RPM grooves on this edition provide previously unattainable detail, information, and soundstaging. This is what audiophile recordings are all about.

You know you're in the presence of sonic greatness as soon as the first few seconds of the opening Tunnel of Love pass, as the introductory passage built on organ and piano - new additions to Dire Straits' palette - intertwine with the unmistakable coil-spring twang of Knopfler's guitar. The three-dimensional, full-bodied presentation of the latter instrument on this Mobile Fidelity LP is alone worth the price of admission. Crisp, rich, and balanced, the analog sound brings Knopfler's Fender Vibrolux and Music Man HD130 amplifiers into your room. The romanticism of Bittan's piano, precision timekeeping of drummer Pick Withers, and steady roll of bassist John Illsley come across with similar potency, scale, and verve.

Always more about the whole than the sum of their individual parts, Dire Straits demonstrate that while Knopfler is the lynchpin, this record is a true band effort. Bittan's role cannot be overstated. His melodicism poetically complements Knopfler's subtle staccato rhythms and more than makes up for the exit of David Knopfler. Expansive and cinematic, the aptly titled Making Movies puts a premium on interrelated subjects (love, relationships, heartbreak) and deep-seated emotions that play out in heartfelt lyrics, intense singing, and epic frameworks. Everything clicks.

The album's power isn't lost on Iovine, who later told Rolling Stone: The right people were in the room together. It really was making a record in the pure sense of the term. The whole thing sounds like one song. But you what that is? That's the writing, the guy who wrote it. He wrote the album like that; he wanted to make the album like that.

Indeed, the first five tracks - Tunnel of Love, Romeo and Juliet, Skateaway, Expresso Love, Hand in Hand - comprise a mini-suite united by theme, harmony, and spirit. Every member of the newly configured Dire Straits has a say in the shaping of the material. There's not a note out of place. Iovine and Knopfler's standout production puts it over the top.

Born in the U.S.A. is the seventh studio album by American rock singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. A critical and commercial success, it found Springsteen marking a departure in his sound. While its predecessor, the dark and acoustic Nebraska, featured songs of pessimism and isolation, Born in the U.S.A.'s lyrics expressed signs of hope in the daily fight of the ordinary American in following the American Dream, a new feeling complemented by synthesized arrangements and a pop-flavored, radio-oriented sound that helped Springsteen to extend his popularity and appeal to mainstream audiences.

By The Light Of The Moon

Mastered from the original master tapes, Mobile Fidelity's numbered limited edition 180g LP brings these 11 songs to life and out of the clouded, foggy sonic environment in which they've remained for more than two decades. For the first time, T Bone Burnett's stripped-back production functions as it should. Namely, Los Lobos sound as if they're playing at a small, sweaty neighborhood joint late on a Sunday night for an audience of locals, friends, and family.

The group's uncanny ability to switch between instruments and effortlessly play each as if it's their innate right-listen to the seamless fashion in which electric and acoustic guitars, marimbas, organs, saxophones, harmonicas, and percussion create strikingly memorable soundscapes-comes to light amidst a warmer, airier, more organic and deep-black background.David Hidalgo's sweet, honeysuckle timbre, he and Cesar Rosas' overlapping tremolo guitars, and stacks of interwoven rhythms jump with vibrant electricity.

Shifting into storytelling mode, Los Lobos use By the Light of the Moon as an opportunity to meditate on everyday America and channel the fate of normal communities. Issues of faith, mortality, love, disillusionment, and melancholy inform narratives that are on the same socially conscious level as those of period-era Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp. As for the songs, they crackle, waltz, shuffle, dance, tremble, and kick. The band almost dares listeners not to care.

Whether leaning into twangy two-step country-rock ("One Night In America"), dual-guitar shootout rockabilly ("Shakin' Shakin' Shakes"), swinging jump R&B ("Is This All There Is?"), tequila-spiked East Los Angeles-style rock ("Set Me Free (Rosa Lee)"), searing Latin-tinged blues ("My Baby's Gone"), or poignant gospel-lined folk ("River of Fools"), Los Lobos' Tex-Mex gumbo continually impresses and delights.

Don't pass up one of the best releases of the 1980s and one of Los Lobos' definitive statements. You'll never hear a better pressing. Boleros, rancheros, and more await!
