Buddy Holly CollectedBuddy Holly was one of the greatest, most inventive artists in the first wave of Rock & Roll, which The Buddy Holly Collection certainly illustrates. The selection shows his wild-man Rockabilly ways as well as his sensitive songwriting.
Although his success lasted only a year and a half before his death in an airplane crash, Holly is described by critic Bruce Eder as the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll. The Buddy Holly Collection stands as the most comprehensive and greatest retrospective of the legendary artist.
Though it contains all the big hits, this is not the place to turn if you're only looking for That'll Be the Day, Not Fade Away, and Peggy Sue. This collection encompasses much more, delving deeper into Holly's body of work. An absolutely necessity for anybody who loves American music of the 20th century.
His works and innovations inspired and influenced contemporary and later musicians, notably the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Costello, and exerted a profound influence on popular music.LP1

Bo Diddley (Elias McDaniel) was truly an American original. There will never be another Bo Diddley nor anyone in the music
industry who could influence generations upon generations of aspiring rock 'n rollers like Bo Diddley has and continues to this
day, even years after his short time on earth.
Celebrating six decades in the music business, this Mississippian native initially captivated millions of kids in the fifties
with his first recordings like Bo Diddley and Say Man. He drove the rockers mad with his famous guitar riffs and boogie beat,
filled with poetic lyrics and a thrilling presence on the stage.
Bringing his original "Bo Diddley Beat" to Chess Records in early 1955, the Chicago based label and the pioneer rocker hit
a goldmine immediately with his arsenal of tunes that he presented to Phil and Leonard Chess. A lot of these great songs became
top charting singles which culminated in his masterwork album Go! Bo Diddley.
Kicking things off with one of his finest smash hits Cracking Up, Bo roars through a treasure trove of 11 more champions
which made this one of the most important and emulated albums of all time. The album features classic gems like his classics
Dearest Darling, Say Man, Don't Let It Go and The Clock Struck Twelve. Noted for his stellar guitar work, pretty much introducing his Bo Diddley Beat riff to a whole new generation of guitar players, Go! Bo Diddley was truly a primer for a ton of rock and
blues artists for years like Eric Burdon and The Animals, George Thorogood, Buddy Holly, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and
Bo Diddley opened the doors for millions of music fans around the world to enjoy rock and blues, making him along with
Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley and Little Richard as one of the first pioneers of the popular recording business that we all enjoy to

The Chirping CricketsThe debut album by the Crickets and the only one featuring Buddy Holly released during his lifetime, The Chirping Crickets contains the group's number one single That'll Be the Day and its Top Ten hit Oh, Boy!. Bus StopNo rest for the Hollies in 1966! Hot on the heels of Beat Group!, Bus Stop rolled into U.S. record shops, right on schedule. Written by Gouldman, the title track became the bands first Top Ten U.S. single, peaking at #5, and featuring their bell-tone harmonies to perfection. In addition to the sparkling single, the album is packed with their renditions of contemporary hits like Simon and Garfunkel's I Am A Rock, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' Mickey's Monkey' and the Fred Neil/Roy Orbison chestnut Candy Man. Self-penned songs We're Through, Don't Run and Hide and You Know He Did also shine brightly and prove there was no danger of covering up the band members writing skills. With this disc, the Hollies put the rock world on notice that they were the British Invasions most beat-filled battalion!
Out of print for decades, this classic album is FINALLY available again. Sourced from the aurally awesome original U.K. mono master, this LP is pressed on pristine 180-gram vinyl per your turntables request. Get in the queue!
Perhaps the most undervalued band of the original British Invasion, The Hollies hits are well known in the U.S. but their early albums are almost impossible to find! Taking their name from Buddy Holly and modeling their harmonies on the Everly Brothers, the Hollies gathered these American musical ingredients and whipped them into a wholly-UKnique concoction. Forging their sound to the east of their Liverpool brothers-in-beat, this Manchester quintet had it all: the soaring vocals of Allan Clarke, Graham Nash and Tony Hicks; Hicks cascading, arpeggio-laden licks on guitar and a hard-hitting rhythm section driven by drummer extraordinaire Bobby Elliot. On top of that, their keen ears for top quality songs, written by the premier songsmiths of the day like teenage wunderkind Graham Gouldman, Chip Wild Thing Taylor and the stellar in-house writing team of Clarke/Hicks/Nash, ensured that their albums were extraordinary from start to finish. In short, they were a band that exuded greatness on all fronts. Now, as that greatness has been acknowledged by their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Sundazed Music is proud to present meticulously restored vinyl editions of the rare U.S. mono versions of the Hollies third and fourth Imperial label albums, from 1966.1. Ricky Sings AgainRicky Nelson Ricky Sings Again on Numbered Limited Edition LP from Mobile Fidelity Silver Label
Foundation-Establishing Rock n' Roll Album Includes Eternal Hit Lonesome Town
A Late 1950s Vocal and Instrumental Touchstone: Nelson Comes Into His Own, Moving Away from Teen Pop and Towards Serious Rockabilly
Stellar Backing Band Includes Elvis Presley Sideman/Guitarist James Burton and Backing Vocalists the Jordanaires
Also Includes Top 10 Singles Believe What You Say, It's Late, and Never Be Anyone Else But You;
Superb Sound: LP Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI
Ricky Nelson will forever be identified with the ageless single Lonesome Town. The career-defining smash is included here, on a record that arguably remains the picturesque idol's peak moment, a 1959 set on which the singer moves away from teen pop and towards serious rock nl' roll and rockabilly on par with the likes of Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. Loaded with material expressly written for Nelson as well as tunes penned by Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, and featuring an all-star session musician band, Ricky Sings Again is a foundation-building 1950s album.
Exceeding the fidelity of any prior analog pressing and affording a warmth missing from Capitol's out-of-print digital reissues, this Silver Label LP, pressed at RTI and mastered on Mobile Fidelity's internationally acclaimed mastering system, teems with detail, presence, dynamics, and authority. With help from his legendary father, Ozzie, Nelson enjoyed superb studio production, heard here in the form of balanced instrumentation, natural tonalities, wide and deep soundstages, and you-are-there vocals. Studio dimensions, too, come across with palpable body and precision. Since the record is a collection, some of the tracks are in mono, others in early stereo.
Backed by a stellar band that includes Elvis Presley guitarist James Burton and in-demand studio bassist James Kirkland, Nelson delivers what remains a 1950s classic that stands up to everything recorded by his famous contemporaries. Burton mimics the sound of a train on One Of These Mornings, just one of the myriad tunes here on which the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member lays down fabulous lines and rockabilly licks that both shade and support the concise melodies. While largely recognized for the melancholy ballad Lonesome Town, one of four Top 10 singles on the set, Ricky Sings Again is as much about early rock n' roll and extraordinary singing. About that voice.
Simultaneously tender and rollicking, innocent and mature, Nelson conveys a rainbow of emotions, pouring over country-flavored weepers and beat-driven rockabilly numbers with equal parts sensitivity, smoothness, and sincerity. A surfeit of heavenly background harmonies and innovative guitar-led breaks make masterpieces out of upbeat offerings such as You Tear Me Up as well as slow-dance invitations like Old Enough to Love. Add the Jordanaires on back-up vocals, and there's something for everyone here.
No matter the performance, Nelson demonstrates time and again on Ricky Sings Again why he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the institution's second year of existence, and why, even more so than Elvis during 1958-59, he was the period's leading singles artist.

Greatest Hits (Red Vinyl)Red Colored Vinyl
Linda Ronstadt's appeal crossed so many genre lines it's impossible to categorize her as anything other than a gifted vocalist. She enjoyed success on country and rock charts alike with a voice that capably handled the requirements of both styles. There was a commanding roughness to her you-did-me-wrong classic, You're No Good, that mixed both soul and R&B stylings into her vocals. In a similar vein, she handled the Motown standard, Heat Wave, like a pro, this time giving it the slightest hint of a country twang. She even rose to the occasion of covering Buddy Holly's That'll Be the Day. Rondstadt had some of her best moments with material that had a more emotional element, regardless of genre. Love Is a Rose and Tracks of My Tears are good examples of the disparate styles she could navigate with equal aplomb. Greatest Hits doesn't chronicle Rondstadt's hits past the mid-1970s, but is still worth owning, not only for the songs themselves, but as a point of reference in her career. --Steve Gdula1. HurleyWeezer return to their indie rock roots on Hurley, their first release on Epitaph and the start of a new chapter in the bands storied career. In many ways, Weezer have always been the unlikeliest of pop bands, earning major radio and video play for left field singles like Undone and Buddy Holly, songs that hardly seem calculated to become radio hits. It is exactly this uncalculated quality that the band returns to on their eighth album. Hurley is as warm and embracing as the glowing smile on actor Jorge Garcias face that graces the cover, as ragged and endearing as fan favorite Pinkerton, as bold and hooky and open as Pork and Beans. And as if that wasnt confusing enough, Rivers Cuomo co-writes with Ryan Adams and legendary Elvis Presley writer Mac Davis (In the Ghetto). In other words, Hurley is in the classic tradition of the best Weezer albums, goofy and confessional and geeky and easy to singalong to.1. Memories

Feel Your Feelings Fool!Perfectly imperfect - that's one way to describe LA based punk act, The Regrettes. Writing songs that proudly bear a brazen and unabashed attitude in the vein of acts Courtney Barnett or Karen O - with a pop aesthetic reminiscent of 50's and 60's acts a la the Temptations or Buddy Holly - the LA based four piece create infectious, punk driven tracks.
Lead by outspoken frontwoman, Lydia Night, and comprised of Genessa Gariano on guitar, Sage Nicole on bass and drummer Maxx Morando, the group have left the LA rock scene floored, managing to capture the hearts of jaded rock critics while opening for acts like Kate Nash, Jack Off Jill, Bleached, Pins, Deep Vally and more.1. However, identical cousins they were not: Beat Group! boasts substantially altered musical content and completely different cover art. The Magik Sounds of The Pine Hill HaintsThe Magik Sounds of the Pine Hill Haints ventures
softly into the cool, dark whisper of the haunted south. Short,
tight spun rhymes about silver quarters and vampires come
from a late evening session in a small pink house in south
Alabama, located next to an old Native American mound of
shells and bones, recorded at low volume with red eyes and
open windows. This is the 4th Halloween dance party long
player the Haints have cut for K.
Mrs Pac-Man sets the theme...although this record is
quicker and faster, Buddy Holly pop driven than most other
Haint efforts, the opening track places your mind in the
smokey state needed to feel the Magik Sound vibe. The sad
Queen of all truck stops and late night greasy spoons, the
lovely Angel Mrs Pac-man hold her charm over the listener
and keeps every loner in tune with midnight feeling.
I used to work a lot of third shift jobs, serving crummy food to
sweethearts, the day finished, done, another one in the
books, and the great burden of living in a modern nightmare
almost, almost felt like it had been lifted...the sweet early
a.m. twilight hours, where all humans are brothers again, all
hatreds and vices and ill wills are temporarily forgiven, folks
smile and tell a little joke or two, and the haunted Mrs Pac-man winks eternal in the background...1. Ms. Pac-Man

A Sleep & A ForgettingIslands new album A Sleep & A Forgetting continues the bands penchant for crafting adventuresome and infectious state of the art pop music. But this time band leader Nick Thorburn has infused the songs with a personal introspection that gives the record a new and powerful emotional resonance. The new album was produced by Thorburn and fellow Islands member Evan Gordon in less than two weeks, and the 11 songs were recorded live with hardly a single overdub. Its a stripped down process and beautifully understated sound which only reinforces the confessional content of the lyrics.
This comes together to striking effect on songs like the darkly dramatic Oh Maria, written in the voice of Buddy Hollys anguished young widow and her reoccurring crash site dreams. She would have these dreams about being in the field where his plane went down,Thorburn says. She would be trying desperately to get past all the bystanders to see him one last time. Its such an evocative story it just stuck with me. And its absolutely consistent with the albums themes of heartbreak, death and dreaming. Far from being selfâ€pitying, A Sleep & A Forgetting powerfully transforms personal unrest into affecting and soulful pop music.
The LP version of A Sleep & A Forgetting comes with a cool and unique hidden track, toward the end of side 2 the album comes to false end with a locking groove of ambient loops. Listeners may then lift the stylus and find a hidden bonus track that closes the LP.1. In A Dream It Seemed Real

Crenshaw's music still pops with the same rootsy authority as it did back when record albums were the preferred delivery system of rock 'n' roll and a tweet was a tweet. - The Huffington Post
Marshall Crenshaw is best known as the writer and performer of such timeless classics as Someday Someway, (You're My Favorite) Waste Of Time and There She Goes Again. He has also written the Top 10 single Til I Hear It From You for the Gin Blossoms and the title song for the film Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story which received both a Grammy and a Golden Globe nomination.
He appeared in the films La Bamba (as Buddy Holly) and Francis Ford Coppola's Peggy Sue Got Married. Crenshaw can be heard on his own radio show, The Bottomless Pit on New York's WFUV.
Crenshaw's most recent project has been a popular and critically acclaimed series of 10 vinyl EPs sold individually. Each EP contains a new song, a cover song, and a re-make of one of Crenshaw's own classics. His fourth EP, Red Wine, features the great new title song as well as a cover of James McMurtry' Right Here Now and a re-make of Crenshaw's classic Delilah.1. Red Wine

The Sides And In BetweenThe Sides And In Between is the new album from Atlanta band Gringo Star, their first for Nevado Records.
If you know a little about brothers Nick and Peter Furgiuele's roots, it all makes sense. Our grandad started out in radio in the 40s and 50s in Columbus, GA., Nick explains. He was a huge promoter of R&B back when it was still super segregated, and he was playing black music and putting on shows with Little Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Sam Cooke & the Soul Stirrers, a lot of Gospel shows. So we grew up hearing all these stories, listening to all this music. Our grandfather was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame posthumously. And my grandma all her photo albums are like Jackie Wilson shirtless backstage, hanging out. Not to mention how Nick and Peter used to raid their parents record collections, cutting their teeth on the likes of Buddy Holly, The Animals and The Kinks. Our favorite music comes from the 50s, Peter says, and that music influenced all the 60s bands we like.
The band has toured relentlessly across the U.S. and Europe building a diehard underground following while sharing bills with everyone from Cat Power and Feist to The Black Angels and Weezer, and also touring with Wavves, Best Coast, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead and fellow Atlantans The Black Lips.1. Grab The Next TrainBorn near Detroit, Michigan, Marshall Crenshaw began playing guitar at age ten and he received his first break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of Beatlemania. In 1987, he played Buddy Holly in the Richie Valens biopic "La Bamba." While living in NYC, he recorded the single "Something's Gonna Happen" for Alan Betrock's Shake Records, which led to a deal with Warner Bros. His debut album, Marshall Crenshaw was acclaimed as a pop masterpiece upon its release in 1982 and established him as a first-rate songwriter, singer and guitarist. The record spawned the Top 40 single "Someday, Someway," which rockabilly singer Robert Gordon covered and scored a hit with a year earlier, and other classics such as "(You're My) Favorite Waste of Time," "Whenever You're On My Mind" and "Cynical Girl." The great songs continued with the Life's Too Short album on MCA ("Fantastic Planet of Love"), three albums for Razor & Tie and the 2009 release Jaggedland ("Someone Told Me," "Passing Through," "Never Coming Down
A quote from Trouser Press sums up Marshall Crenshaw's early career: "Although he was seen as a latter-day Buddy Holly at the outset, he soon proved too talented and original to be anyone but himself." All Music Guide captured Crenshaw's vibe perfectly: "He writes songs that are melodic, hooky and emotionally true, and he sings and plays them with an honesty and force that still finds room for humor without venom."
"His intelligence, integrity, and passion for the great song always show up in his music," wrote Robert Christgau in his Consumer Guide of Marshall Crenshaw. Over a span of 30 years, Crenshaw has released 13 albums, all of which have received the highest marks from critics and have earned him a fiercely loyal fan base.
"I wanted to think of a different way of working that would inspire me and keep me motivated," Marshall Crenshaw says of his newest endeavor: a subscription-only service that addresses the recent seismic changes in the music-industry landscape by cutting out the record-company middle man to distribute his new recordings directly to fans.
The subscription service, which the veteran singer/guitarist/songwriter/producer recently launched via a successful Kickstarter funding campaign, will provide fans with a steady stream of new Marshall Crenshaw music via a series of exclusive three-song 10-inch, 45-rpm vinyl EPs on Addie-Ville Records, six of which the artist plans to release over a two-year period.
Each EP will consist entirely of newly recorded, never-before-released material, encompassing a new original Crenshaw composition, a classic cover tune, and a new reworking of a time-honored favorite.
"I really do think that vinyl sounds best, and that playing a vinyl record is still the optimum listening experience," Crenshaw asserts. "And with the sound quality that you get at 45 rpm, I think that these things are going to deliver the goods, sonically."
All three tracks were mastered for maximum awesomeness by legendary engineer Greg Calbi, who will handle mastering duties on the entire EP series.1. Grab The Next Train

Hasten Down The WindMake Haste! Grab the Limited-Edition 180g LP of this Classic Now!
Did any musician have more talent at their beckon call during the 70s than Linda Ronstadt? Absolutely not. Part of her impeccable string of mid-1970s albums that defined California's soft-rock scene, the Grammy-winning Hasten Down the Wind is Ronstadt at her best and that's saying something. Consider the watertight repertoire: The Warren Zevon title track. Patsy Cline's (by way of Willie Nelson) 'Crazy.' Buddy Holly's 'That'll Be the Day.' Nelson's 'Down So Low.' Karla Bonoff's 'If He's Ever Near.' Ry Cooder's 'The Tattler.'
And then, there's the supporting cast, which includes Eagles legend Don Henley on drums and harmony vocals, folk-rock legend Peter Asher on guitar, session drumming master Russ Kunkel, and multi-instrumentalist sensation Andrew Gold playing just about everything with strings or skins. Couple this with the thematically revealing cover in a nod to the escapism of fantasy romance novels, the singer stands on a beach before an ocean and a running horse, her exposing dress a sign of the lovesick vulnerability that colors the songs and Hasten Down the Wind is the complete package of sensuality, passion, and poignancy.
Now, due to Mobile Fidelity's trademark sonic restoration, the album finally has the exquisite sound it has always deserved. Listeners can now literally feel Ronstadt's deep-seeded emotions. Even better, her covers of affecting ballads and midtempo country-rock numbers intentionally revolve around vocal-heavy arrangements. It's no wonder that the album, which topped the country charts, also yielded two Top 20 hits and resulted in the artist's first platinum-record award.
But make haste! Quantities are limited, and, unlike Ronstadt's timeless interpretations, this will not be around forever.
