    Ege Bamyasi

Out Of Print For 15 Years

Can was founded in 1968 by Irmin Schmidt, Holger Czukay, Michael Karoli and Jaki Liebezeit who formed a group which would utilize and transcend all boundaries of
ethnic, electronic experimental and modern classical music.

Ege Bamyasi is Can's fourth studio album originally recorded and released in in 1972. The album contains the popular tracks "Vitamin C" and "Spoon" and features one of the band's most iconic front cover images. Ege Bamyas means "Aegean Okra" in Turkish.

The band's powerful influence has never diminished, and their indelible mark is apparent in the bands who freely acknowledge their importance - from Portishead, James Murphy, New Order, Factory Floor, Public Image Ltd, Mogwai, Kanye West (who sampled 'Sing Swan Song') and Radiohead - as well as across other disciplines such as visual art and literature.

a group which would utilize and transcend all boundaries of
ethnic, electronic, experimental, and modern classical music.

Future Days is the fifth studio album by Can. This is the
last album to feature Japanese vocalist Damo Suzuki. On
Future Days, the band explored the ambient direction they
had introduced into their sound on the previous year's Ege
Bamyasi creating a landmark in European electronic music.
Future Days is fiercely progressive, calming, complex,
intense, and beautiful all at once.

    Out Of Reach

Out Of Print For Over 35 Years

Can was founded in 1968 by Irmin Schmidt, Holger Czukay, Michael Karoli and Jaki Liebezeit who formed a group which would utilize and transcend all boundaries of ethnic, electronic experimental and modern classical music.

Out Of Reach, the 10th studio album by Can has been
unavailable in any official format since its original release in 1978.
Out Of Reach is one of Can's lesser known albums. This is
due in large part to the fact that bassist Holger Czukay left the
band while this album was being recorded, and drummer Jaki
Liebezeit had a reduced role. Most of the rhythm duties were
left to percussionist, Reebop Kwaku Baah. New bassist Rosko
Gee largely leads the group, and his jazz-inflected playing
is marvellous, especially on the centrepiece improvisations
    "November" and "Serpentine."

    Into The Labyrinth

Into The Labyrinth (1993) is Dead Can Dance's sixth album, one of their most successful releases, its title a reference to the Greek legend of Theseus going into the Labyrinth to slay the Minotaur. It came when Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard had embarked on more individual personal paths, now writing their songs independent of one another, and on separate continents. Engineered and produced by Brendan at his Quivvy Church studio in Ireland, the album is an audiophile benchmark and also noted for being their first without any guests, instead they played all the instruments.

The 2016 LP version is also a double LP like the original release, but comes with brand new artwork and a changed track ordering.

Czukay, Michael Karoli and Jaki Liebezeit who formed
a group which would utilize and transcend all boundaries of
ethnic, electronic, experimental, and modern classical music.

Unlimited Edition pressed as a double LP features unreleased
tracks from 1968 to 1974 recorded in Can's private Inner Space
studios. It is an essential album for those who want to know
more about the roots of the band. Five cuts listed as "E.F.S" refer
to the band's continuing Ethnological Forgery Series-- a series of
songs in which Can self-consciously imitated various
    "world music" genres.

Can was founded in 1968 by Irmin Schmidt, Holger Czukay, Michael Karoli and Jaki Liebezeit who formed a group which would utilize and transcend all boundaries of ethnic, electronic experimental and modern classical music.

Monster Movie, Can's debut album was originally recorded and released in 1969. The use of improvisation, experimentation, editing and layering of sounds set a standard for Can's subsequent albums in the early 1970s, which were seminal to the freewheeling avant-garde style dubbed "krautrock" by the British music press.

The band upgraded to 16 tracks and had the opportunity
to bring out many more layers of sound and an upbeat
nature for most of the tracks in the process. The album was

Saw Delight is the ninth Can studio album.

It features two new band members who were ex-members
of Traffic. The musical direction flirts with world music and
precedes the mid-1980s world music trend set by artists
such as Paul Simon and Peter Gabriel. Saw Delight was
made as a binaural recording, a method of recording sound
that uses two microphones, arranged with the intent to
create a 3-D stereo sound sensation for the listener of
actually being in the room with the performers or instruments.

    I Robot

Alan Parsons Project I Robot on Numbered Limited Edition 180g 45RPM 2LP From Mobile Fidelity

Perfectionism, Innovation, Complexities, and Reference-Grade Production Make Alan Parsons Project's Conceptual I Robot a Timeless Classic: Sci-Fi Arrangements Steeped In Drama and Moodiness

More Music, More Information, More Detail, More Nuance, More Everything: Mobile Fidelity 180g 45RPM 2LP Set the Definitive-Sounding Analog Version of 1977 Audiophile Standard

A Demonstration Disc for the Ages: Immaculate Highs and Lows, Supreme Spaciousness, See-Through Transparency, 3D Imaging, Wider Grooves on System-Testing Pressing

Audiophiles needn't any introduction to the Alan Parsons Project's I Robot. Engineered by Parsons after he performed the same duties on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, the 1977 record reigns as a disc whose taut bass, crisp highs, clean production, and seemingly limitless dynamic range are matched only by the sensational prog-rock fare helmed by the keyboardist. Not surprisingly, it's been issued myriad times. Can it be improved? Relish Mobile Fidelity's stupendous-sounding 180g 45RPM 2LP set and the question becomes irrelevant.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, and afforded the luxurious groove space of a 45RPM LP, I Robot comes to life like never before on this numbered limited-edition reissue. Boasting immaculate highs and lows, generous spaciousness, and see-through transparency that takes you into the studio with Parsons and creative partner Eric Woolfson at Abbey Road, this super-clean edition has been lovingly restored by Mobile Fidelity engineers with the intention of demonstrating the full-range capabilities of the world's best stereo systems. Put simply, there's more music, more information, more detail, more nuance, more everything.

Savor reference-grade soundstages, immersive smoothness, sought-after instrumental separation, three-dimensional imaging, and consummate tonal balances. Able to be played back at high volumes without compromise or fatigue, the analog masterwork is a demonstration record for the ages - the likes of which are no longer being made. Longtime fans can finally rest assured knowing they don't have to pony up hundreds of dollars for older pressings - including three prior Mobile Fidelity versions on LP and CD. This is the very reason you own and invest in high-end audio gear.

Inspired by and loosely based around the Isaac Asimov stories of the same name, I Robot delves into themes of artificial intelligence and technological dominance that make the record increasingly relevant in the 21st century. Indeed, Parsons' pinnacle creation dovetailed with the ascendency of Star Wars, which itself is experiencing a rebirth in an age of self-driving cars, smart devices, and mindless automation. Lyrically, songs such as The Voice call into question human behavior - and their relationship to increasing robotic supremacy - in everyday life. Sonically, Parsons reflects the associated paranoia, dichotomy, and transformation via shifting sci-fi arrangements steeped in drama and moodiness.

I Robot's absorbing tunes also continue to fascinate due to their perfectionism and innovation. Borrowing from Pink Floyd's strategies, Parsons utilizes a looped sequence on the title track to create new downbeats. Some Other Time employs two different lead vocalists and yet gives the illusion only one is involved. Captivating strings, a piccolo trumpet, and bona fide pipe organ grace Don't Let It Show. The origins of Nucleus stem from a unique analog keyboard concoction dubbed the Projectron, devised by Parsons and electronic engineer Keith Johnson. Andrew Powell's orchestral and choral arrangements top it all off, with Total Eclipse arriving as an aptly frightening track that presages the climactic Genesis Ch. 1 V. 32.

Does man or machine win in the end? Decide with Parsons as you get lost in Mobile Fidelity's definitive pressing.

    Flow Motion

Out Of Print For Over 30 Years

Can was founded in 1968 by Irmin Schmidt, Holger
Czukay, Michael Karoli and Jaki Liebezeit who formed
a group which would utilize and transcend all boundaries of
ethnic, electronic experimental and modern classical music.

Flow Motion is the eighth Can studio album. It features the
UK hit single "I Want More". The success of "I Want More"
led to an appearance on Top of the Pops. Flow Motion
was mixed using binaural stereo, a method of recording
sound that uses two microphones, arranged with the intent
to create a 3-D stereo sound sensation for the listener of
actually being in the room with the performers or instruments.

The band's powerful influence has never diminished, and
their indelible mark is apparent in the bands who freely
acknowledge their importance - from Portishead, James
Murphy, New Order, Factory Floor, Public Image Ltd,
Mogwai, Kanye West (who sampled 'Sing Swan Song') and
Radiohead - as well as across other disciplines such as visual
    art and literature.

Falling Faster Than You Can Run

Well, it doesn't take long for Falling Faster Than You Can Run to reveal that Nathaniel Rateliff isn't in a very good place. His deep funk is revealed very quickly on the opening track 'Still Trying': "If you roll in it long enough/your shit won't even smell" sings Rateliff, in between crying out, unaccompanied, "I don't know/I don't know/a god damned thing".

And that's the feeling that sticks throughout this, often very fine, new record from Denver, Colorado's Missouri-born Rateliff. On his second full-length album (dropping the & the Wheel from his name) loneliness is writ large: not the kind of loneliness from actually being along, but the kind that comes from being constantly surrounded by people yet unable to shake the feeling of complete isolation. Rateliff has toured with many, many acts over the past few years and most recently has spent time with Dr Dog and fellow Denver act (and friends) The Lumineers. Thankfully, Rateliff rarely sounds like his friends (you might say I'm not a fan) and instead writes and plays music with a lot of heart and soul. It's often his voice that's the star of the show thanks to the subtly-arranged instrumentation: part matured Kurt Wagner burr and part throat-ravaged bluesman ( a bit The Tallest Man on Earth) it's a voice you could listen to all day. But good voice is nothing without good songs, and Rateliff comes with plenty of ammunition on Falling Faster Than You Can Run.

"Still Trying" is an arresting opener; while Rateliff's heart-wrenching roars are the highlight, the backing isn't too shabby either - acoustic guitar and bass drum battle for the spotlight on a ragged country song, and it sounds authentic, like Rateliff has lived what he's singing. And things get better quickly: "I Am" is mostly just Rateliff and his guitar, as broaches his isolation singing: "you'll never know what's buried there / less you dig around". The music swells as he sings the title over and over, following a similar pattern to the album opener. But before things get too familiar, Rateliff picks up the pace with a couple of full band numbers that could almost be considered jaunty, if we were to ignore the lyrics. "Don't Get Too Close" is fine enough and ticks over nicely like a quickstep, but "Laborman" is even better. Like Wilco at their poppiest, it flies off on crunchy and bright electric guitars which belies the lyrical content: "I got a feelin' / a sleepin' depression / that somebody's gonna get hurt", sings Rateliff, followed by "you got the harness/so where you gonna drag me now?" You can see a pattern developing here; Rateliff's stuck somewhere he doesn't want to be, lonely, but how does he get out of it? Take another look at that album cover too - a couple share a bed, an arm reaches out yet it doesn't touch the other person. It's basically a visual encapsulation of what's being sung about.

The epic electric storm of "Forgetting Is Believing" leads a trio of great closing tracks, ending with the Lambchop-murmur of the title track. Rateliff's baritone is exposed and dusty as he sings "leave me alone/you can see me fall/faster than you can run", ending as he started the record - alone and isolated.

Falling Faster Than You Can Run feels, through the dirt, the shit and the whisky, and despite the loneliness, like a hard-earned triumph for Nathaniel Rateliff.

4 on Numbered Limited Edition 180 Gram LP from Mobile Fidelity

#1 1981 Album Teems With Hits: Urgent, Waiting for a Girl Like You, Juke Box Hero

Foreigner's Most Consistent, Economical, and Cleanly Produced Record

Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Sonics Open Window to Mutt Lange's Direct Production

Be A Juke Box Hero: Sound Will Rattle Your Walls and Shake Your Windows!

Want to be a juke box hero? Heres your chance. Featuring Mutt Langes spotless production, contributions from Motown legend Junior Walker and new-wave icon Thomas Dolby, no less than three huge singles, and Foreigners most economical performances, 4 is classic-rock nirvana, a model of crystalline pop-rock melodies and lighter-flicking balladry. More than six million copies later, the 1981 record is still rightly discussed as a front-to-back masterpiece of precision, power, and economy. Its an album that demands to be experienced in the highest-possible fidelity.

Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes, Mobile Fidelitys 180g LP presents 4 in a room-filling, stadium-big sound that simply crushes whats heard on all prior versions. Replete with energetic rockers such as Urgent, Night Life, and Woman In Black, the record benefits from a sonic facelift that opens up the previously compressed dynamics, expands the dimensions of the soundstage, dials in a clear path to the instrumental images, and erases the ceiling that pressed down on Lou Gramms superhuman vocals. For the first time, Langes obsessive, detail-oriented production can be enjoyed in all its splendid glory.

Fresh off blockbuster success with AC/DCs Back In Black, Lange uses his magic touch on 4, pairing with guitarist Mick Jones who, armed with the best batch of riffs of his career, shared a the producers sentiment for discipline, efficiency, and cleanliness. And so, on crisp tunes like Break It Up, pianos and hard-hitting guitars share the same space without ever impinging on one another or overstepping boundaries. The winning formula also propels Top 5 hits like the wildly funky Urgent, sent to new heights by Walkers dazzling saxophone solo, and the touching Waiting for a Girl Like You, a crossover smash that introduced Foreigner to soft-rock and adult-pop audiences.

Simply stated, 4 has everything: Rowdy frustration-releasing cuts, fiery rock n roll tunes, heartfelt torch songs, and synth-drenched pop numbers. The playing throughout positively smokes, as the one-two punch of Gramm and Jones lands with both emotional and musical impact every time. There's not a single wasted note. And, reduced to a quartet, Foreigner seems bent on making more with less, just as Lange does with the polished production. This is 42 minutes of hard-rocking bliss.

Accept no substitute. Mobile Fidelitys collectible audiophile edition will rattle your walls and shake your windows. Be prepared to tap every reserve available from your amplifiers. And play it LOUD!

    Dead Can Dance

The uncompromising eponymous debut, Dead Can Dance (1984), harnessed a bewitching barrage of sounds (including the distinct sound of the yangqin) with the then five-piece interchanging instruments to leave the vocals of Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry as the only constant. The album's cover was important as an introduction too, a Papua New Guinean mask that some believe when worn, a life force can be put into the inanimate wood - the dead can dance.

    We Can Do Anything

We Can Do Anything follows 2000's Freak Magnet and marks the group's ninth LP. It was recorded in Brooklyn, Nashville, Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Denver during their summer tour. Jeff Hamilton - a multi-instrumentalist in the Femmes' ever-changing backing band, Horns of Dilemma - served as producer, while John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr.) mixed.

The We Can Do Anything cover art was drawn by Kevin Hearn of the Barenaked Ladies, whom Violent Femmes toured with over the summer. He also contributed accordion, guitars, keys and backing vocals to several songs on the album.

Violent Femmes frontman Gordon Gano culled a handful of songs for We Can Do Anything from his trove of old cassette demos and journals, including Big Car and I Could Be Anything. He also shared writing duties on various songs with Sam Hollander, Dave Katz and Better Than Ezra's Kevin Griffin; We Can Do Anything also boasts one cover, What You Really Mean, which was written by Gano's sister, folk musician and artist, Cynthia Gayneau.

    It Can Be Done!

It Can Be Done! is an album of new beginnings. The past year has seen Kendl Winter leave the successful bluegrass group The Blackberry Bushes to tour the country as a solo act, walking her banjo into dark bars, smoky music halls and packed amphitheaters night after night. It's also full of intimacy. With a voice that is marvelously unique and bold, and songs that are both classically poetic and rooted deep in her own experience, Kendl draws upon an old-time Americana and bluegrass bent that brings to mind the haunting vocal work of Karen Dalton and Gillian Welch. Her banjo work on the album is striking, showcasing a kind of expertise that comes from years of companionship with a beloved instrument. It Can Be Done! is a victory album of sorts, and Kendl's third release on K, the follow up to her beautiful 2012 landmark The Mechanics of Hovering Flight.

Recorded by Calvin Johnson on reel-to-reel tape at Dub Narcotic Studio in Olympia, WA, on It Can Be Done! Kendl is backed by The Summer Gold, Austin Cooper (drums), Joe Capoccia (guitar) and Derek Johnson (cello). Together they explored her year of new horizons. In sweet spinning songs like "Centrifugal Forces," Kendl makes even the awkward, arduous task of foreign laundry seem a steady triumph: "I'm out walking, Tulsa wind, stumbling in place again. Who knew it would be so hard to do your laundry in Berlin?" The following lead tracks "Rosie" and "Dreaming of Babylon," both convey the spirit Kendl has been working from this past year, the very idea that she can choose to live her life outside of cultural expectations and guidelines, even if when its difficult, even if when terrifying. That It is, in fact, possible to manifest the life of your dreams. It can be done!
