'La Sexorcisto : Devil Music Volume 1' was both a critical and commercial success for White Zombie, climbing up the charts in the US and gaining massive MTV video airplay and mainstream rock radio airplay with Thunder Kiss '65 and Black Sunshine. The album's sound is a mix of groove metal and funk metal with lots of B-movie samples. Tactless and continuously shocking, lyricist Rob Zombie reveals blatant tales of muscle cars, sleazy encounters, and Fangoria-mustered fantasy, clearly paying homage to vintage trash culture.

Rob Zombie explained he wanted to keep a groovable dance element in the music, a trait which is often absent in metal music. Weak appetites for raunchy, tongue-in-cheek decadence need not apply!

    Heartbeat City

Four-Times-Platinum Heartbeat City Survives as the Cars' Final Great Album Before Break-Up

Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Mobile Fidelity LP Presents the 1984 Mutt Lange-Produced Heartbeat City In Extraordinary Sound

Loaded With Recognizable Hits: "Drive," "You Might Think," "Magic," "Hello Again," and "Why Can't I Have You" All Top 40 Singles

1984 will always be remembered for the debut of the Macintosh computer, the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, and the ascent of MTV as the most powerful cultural medium of the era. The year is also recognized for the Cars' savvy contributions not only to the burgeoning music-video channel but to pop itself. Released in April, the four-times platinum Heartbeat City ultimately spawned five Top 40 singles-four of them landing in the Top 20, two in the Top 10-and serve as the final memorable record from the Boston group, which disbanded in 1987.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's numbered limited edition 180g LP of Heartbeat City revisits the landmark album via a rich fidelity unmatched by any prior edition. Signifying the first time the set has been available on vinyl in nearly three decades, this reissue opens up the soundstages, decongests the low frequencies, and shines a spotlight on Mutt Lange's pinpoint balances and glossy hooks. Indeed, the now-household-name producer would make a lasting mark with Heartbeat City, whose radio-friendly sound, multi-layered textures, and smooth, suave, synth-heavy pulses set a precedent for the period's hit-making pop.

Overflowing with a surfeit of finger-snapping beats, electro-pop effects, streamlined guitar notes, and bright melodies, Heartbeat City trades in efficiency, catchiness, and to-the-point craftiness. Unlike most mid-80s records, the electronic effects and sleek tonalities aren't dated due to both the focused production and irresistible songwriting. Leader Ric Ocasek penned all ten tunes, and while a mind-boggling five charted in the Top 40, what makes Heartbeat City such a staple is the fact that it's easy to imagine every song on it crashing the Billboard Hot 100. Call it the new-wave version of Thriller.

Indeed, the record's track list automatically triggers a mental jukebox. The spare simplicity and hopefulness of "Magic." The simultaneously sad longing and soothing somberness of the Benjamin Orr-sung "Drive." The shimmer and shuffling riff of "You Might Think." The ping-pong bounce and futuristic paranoia of "Hello Again." The atmospheric, arty title track. Heartbeat City is a veritable lesson in pop tunesmithship.

    Car

Car is the new LP from MOJACK, the instrumental group featuring Greg Ginn on guitar and bass, Tony Atherton on sax, and Khalil Hebert on drums.
The music has a frenetic buzz, but with strong melodic lines and a groove. Yes, some of these "melodic lines" are out there, but that's half the fun. The intense drumming of Hebert keeps the extrapolating journey of the music pulsating along. The conversing guitar and sax often find common
    ground...until they don't. That's the other half
    of the fun.

Saskatoon's Slow Down Molasses is a five-piece indie-rock collective described as "the Broken Social Scene of the

Tin Cans and Car Tires is moe.'s second release and features the band's new drummer, Vinnie Amico, who had taken over the position from Chris Mazur in 1996.

For Tin Cans and Car Tires the band enlisted the help of producer John Alagia, whose work with the Dave Matthews Band proved that it's possible for the modern jam band to effectively capture their live sound in the studio. Engineering the project was tech-whiz John Siket, whose eclectic resume includes indie jammers Yo La Tengo, mid-fi Aussie rockers You Am I and genre kingpins Phish.

For the past 30 years, Lucinda Williams has channeled her perspective as a proud but vulnerable Southern female into a string of stellar albums, each of which weave Rock, Country, Folk and Blues so tightly that each of the elements seems to disappear. Lucinda Williams (1988) was her breakthrough disc, but her magnum opus, 1998's Car Wheels On A Gravel Road, sealed her reputation as a formidable singer-songwriter.

It took three torturous years to finish this alt-country masterwork, but it was worth it. Williams writes songs that explore the rootlessness of American life, with vivid imagery and gravel-guitar beauty. The album features guest appearances by Steve Earl, Emmylou Harris and Buddy Miller. Williams co-produced the album and it was mixed by Rick Rubin & Jim Scott except Metal Firecracker, which was mixed by Ray Kennedy.

The album won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album, and was Lucinda Williams' first album to go Gold. It was voted Best Album of the Year in the Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics poll. In 2003, the album was ranked number 304 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Numbered Limited Edition- Only 10,000 Worldwide

Having left Genesis in the summer of 1976, Peter's first solo album arrived in February 1977. He was 26. With legendary producer Bob Ezrin taking charge, the intention was to make a more direct and tougher record: something different from what had gone before. The record also provided one of Peter's most recognisable songs in the shape of Solsbury Hill. Half-Speed Remastered and cut to lacquers at 45RPM, across two heavyweight LPs to deliver maximum dynamic sound range. Vinyl cut by Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering, mastered by Tony Cousins at Metropolis and overseen by Peter's main sound engineer Richard Chappell. These albums really have never sounded so good! They also look amazing with the gatefold sleeves utilising imagery from the initial release, sourced and re-scanned from original artwork.

    Weezer (Blue Album) (Blue Vinyl)

Ranked 297/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Limited Edition Numbered Blue Colored Vinyl LP

Mastered From The Original Master Tapes

    Features Superb Room-Filling Sonics

1990s' Ultimate Geek-Rock Record: Includes Buddy Holly, Undone (The Sweater Song), & Say It Ain't So

Weezer doesn't look like rock stars, its amusing name doesn't evoke stadium-heights glories, and the group's lyrics don't exude confidence or flash. For precisely these reasons, and the fact that the band's songs on its self-titled debut are the stuff of air-guitar dreams and shout-it-out choruses, the quartet became ironic arena-rock stars equally celebrated by in-the-know hipsters and mainstream radio listeners. Replete with urgent melodies, quirky confessional narratives, wry humor, and gargantuan hooks, Weezer (Blue Album) remains the best geek-rock record ever made.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed on 180g blue-colored vinyl at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's analog version of the 1994 release Rolling Stone named the 297th greatest album ever recorded finally possesses the grand-scale sonics that the music's bunker-busting hooks deserve. Cars frontman Ric Ocasek's polished production is now both free of artificial ceilings that squashed the explosive dynamics and rid of the compression that saddled the frequency range. Instrumental separation is vastly improved, and the amount of midrange energy seemingly doubled. This reissue is guaranteed to help you rock out.

Underdogs and misfits, Weezer emerged from Los Angeles as nerdy kids that eschewed traditional party-hard ways in favor of studying Kiss records, engaging in conversations about old LPs, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. The band's awkwardness joyfully translates in its songs on its 1994 debut, largely concerned with jealous insecurities, pop culture, true-to-life heartbreak, common accidents, youthful misconceptions, and daydreaming. Unlike many of their indie-rock peers, Weezer finds no need to conceal feelings in obscurities, snark, or impossibly impenetrable quirkiness.

While every song on Weezer is a delight, In the Garage, the ultimate ode to a heavy-metal practice space and private musical retreat, best spells out the album's appeal and the band's intent. I've got an electric guitar/I play my stupid songs/I write these stupid words/And I love every one/Waiting there for me/Yes I do, I do/In the garage/No one cares about my ways/In the garage where I belong sings leader Rivers Cuomo, his voice often meshing with that of Matt Sharp, and giving the material a barbershop-quartet harmonic boost in line with the catchiness of the guitar-driven bridges and rhythmic foundations.

More than three-times platinum, the Blue Album, as it's often called, also claims an iconic cover that pays tribute to that of the Feelies' Crazy Rhythms. The picture - as well as the bubblegum-inspired content within - has become an indelible part of modern culture. Weezer graces must-have lists from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Guitar World, and more. And needless to say, My Name Is Jonas, Say It Ain't So, Buddy Holly, and Undone (The Sweater Song) are all modern classics.

    Shake It Up

Sonically Spectacular LP Half-Speed Mastered from the Original Tapes!

1981 Album a Return to Pop and a New-Wave Landmark

A return to form after the departure that was 1980s muddled Panorama, the Cars Shake It Up bursts forth with a rich assembly of synthesizers, drum machines, electronic blips, and catchy melodies that make it an early 80s pop staple. Known the world over, the famous title track proves the bands arrangement skills were in perfect shape and set the stage for a record overflowing with memorable hooks and complementary rock riffs.

Shake It Up also plays witness to primary songwriter/vocalist Ric Ocaseks increased cynicism and biting wit. While the Cars never took a rosy-eyed view of romance, the songs here impart a newfound sense of sympathy, regret, limbo, and reservation. The beauty of the Carsand all ten tunes hereis that the music suggests something else entirely. Such subliminal emotions and dynamic contrasts act as a magnet, and the band plays as if its in on the secret.

They've always cultivated a dark side--girls make boys want to end it all even after the boys have grown up. They've always basked in the shadow of Roxy Music, too. But they've never been so stylishly nightmarish--except for the title cut, even the fast ones don't aim for fun. Robert Christgau, The Consumer Guide

Apart from the party vibe of the title cut, the Cars aim for deeper targets and smarter undertones. Shake It Up is defined by an urban edginess and modern feel that comes alive on tunes such as Cruiser and circular Im Not the One, a pop gem laded with stacked vocals and keyboard lines that double as a horn section. The bands arrangements have never been betteror more involved. Absent the cheesiness that would mar the groups late-period work, the songs ride on the strength of keyboard-heavy lines and layered harmonies. You will not be disappointed.

Half-speed mastered from the original analog tapes, Mobile Fidelitys numbered limited-edition LP focuses on the myriad pitch changes that control the musical directions. Recorded at the bands Synchro Sound studios by famed Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker, the album takes advantage of electronic textures and varying timbres in immersing the listener in accessible albeit abstract washes of sound. MoFis engineers made sure to capture every note and nuance; this marks the first time that Shake It Up has been remastered in any way, let alone from the original tapes.

    Absolute Zero

Absolute Zero is the debut album by Irish quintet, Little Green Cars. Absolute Zero's 48 minutes, crafted in unabashed earnestness with the aid of seasoned epic-producer Markus Dravs (Mumford and Sons' Sigh No More and Babel, Arcade Fire's Neon Bible and The Suburbs, Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto), acts as a soul-bearing report, as guileless as the young five-piece themselves, on the act of simply growing up; a process that requires, at once, so little and so much effort it could explode you from the inside at any moment.

"This record constantly jumps between two contrasting perspectives: the beauty of a reckless youth and the fear and confusion caused by our ever-pending adulthood," Appleby explains. "It's a hopeful and naïve look at love and life in general, which gives the album its bright days - but also deals with isolation, unrequited love and madness. We wanted to express both a feeling of strength and vulnerability, so the work had to encompass both the light and dark."

"These are all feelings we've had, as a group or as individuals. We hope this is something people can relate to. That's always been why music has been written; it's a voice for people who don't have a voice. Hopefully someone can find some sort of comfort or solace in this. "

The band -a group of 20-year-old friends with a habit of waxing deadly serious about their ever-expanding ambitions - convened in 2008 in a bungalow in Stevie Appleby's parents' backyard for as ordinary a reason as any: as the frontman admits sheepishly, they wanted to win a battle of the bands competition. With guitarist Adam O'Regan and bassist Donagh O'Leary friends since primary school, and the rest having met in secondary, the five rehearsed for the gig, at which they promptly lost out to another local band.

The defeat, however, was surprisingly fuel enough. It inspired them to work harder, to work through their remaining two years of school, during which they produced a massive catalog of demo recordings, blending acoustic and electronic, classical and punk, djembe drums and synth strings. Then, in 2010, not long before graduation, then-rising manager Daniel Ryan found them at one of their sparse live gigs. With just one client already under his wing, he approached the young band with a terrifying, yet exhilarating ultimatum: Do you want to go to university, or do you want to really be in a band?

"That was the first time we considered looking that far ahead," says guitarist/vocalist/primary songwriter Faye O'Rourke. "We were trying to avoid thinking about the future because of the prospect of college, but " The choice became obvious. And like that, they dove in. For two years they redoubled their efforts, crafting a wide-eyed musical narrative that mirrored their evolution as an ensemble until, inevitably, label suitors began to knock. Since 2011 they've been quietly boiling down those demos into an album - the first they've ever recorded.

"The main thing I want to hear out of an artist I admire is the truth," says Appleby. "How they really felt. If I'm going to say something, it may as well be the truth." The lengths to which Appleby, O'Rourke and the rest of the band will go to tell that truth have yet to reveal their depth, but a full-steam-ahead debut record is a good place to start. Finally, five years' worth of backyard Garage Band tracks have a name: Absolute Zero.

The songs of Absolute Zero have only begun to see the light of day, because, as Appleby puts it, "we've always been more interested in recording and writing and experimenting with everything than in touring. [The past five years] was time spent finding our sound, finding ourselves. We've gone through everything, from acoustic guitars to electronic music. We needed the time to grow up as people and as musicians."

In other words, this is a debut that is a sum total of its creators' ascent to this moment. It is a desperate, under-pillow diary; a painstakingly lettered love note dropped in a locker; a collective, yet very personal, dissertation. On the record's debut single The John Wayne, a fierce paean to the ones who so easily break our hearts, the lot of them proclaim, "It's easy to fall in love with you/It's easy to be alone/It's easy to hate yourself when all your love is inside someone else." On "My Love Took Me Down To The River To Silence Me," O'Rourke is torn between the heartbreak and the healing that comes from being heartbroken, "But my heart burned out til it was no more/still I wait on the ground, I don't know what for/There is a heart in you/where is the heart in me?/This love's killing me, but I want it to." And by its early-morning close, when Appleby asks, "And who will write and who will fight for this man/I know I am?/And if you're running out of space/Please don't erase your time with me," it becomes clear that it's not just love Little Green Cars are grasping at: even amidst an ex-lover's plea for acknowledgement, the search has grown far beyond that.
