Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso And Lee Loughnane From Chicago!
Chicago VIII was one of Rock Hall Of Famers' Chicago's biggest selling albums in a long line of multi-platinum smash albums which began in 1969. Featuring the original award winning line-up of Robert Lamm (lead vocals/keyboards), Peter Cetera (lead vocals/bass), Terry Kath (lead vocals/lead guitar), the legendary horns of James Pankow (trombone), Lee Loughnane (trumpet), Walter Parazaider (saxophone/woodwinds), Danny Seraphine (drums), plus Laudir de Oliveira (percussion), Chicago VII is undoubtedly one of their best selling albums of the seventies and also one of the most revered offerings in their huge catalog.
Buoyed by the success of huge hit singles like Old Days and Brand New Love Affair, Chicago filled this recording session up with so many great songs, it could be its own greatest hits collection. Further smashes like the powerful Anyway You Want and the stellar late Terry Kath's Till We Meet Again, all truly make this fine album even more of a treasure trove of classic rock enjoyment.
It's been several decades since the rare original vinyl version of Chicago VII has been available that is until now! The Chicago/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series Continues!
Celebrate The 40th Anniversary Of The Legendary #1 Chicago VII - First Time Audiophile Vinyl!
Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso And Lee Loughnane From Chicago!
Chicago VII was another huge multiplatinum plus #1 smash for Chicago and a stunning return to the double LP
format for this brilliant band. Featuring the original award winning line-up of Robert Lamm (lead vocals/keyboards),
Peter Cetera (lead vocals/bass), Terry Kath (lead vocals/guitars), the legendary horns of Lee Loughnane (trumpet),
Walter Parazaider (saxophone/woodwinds), James Pankow (trombone) plus Danny Seraphine (drums), Chicago VII is
undoubtedly one of their biggest selling albums and is also one of the most revered offerings in their huge catalog.
Buoyed by the success of huge hit singles like (I've Been) Searchin' So Long and Call On Me, their seventh album
was filled with more smashes like the power driver Robert Lamm smash Lifesaver, the funk rocker Woman Don't Want
To Love Me and the Chicago/Beach Boys duet smash hit single Wishing You Were Here.
The wonderful 2 LP release also features a fine array of long band workouts on instrumentals which feature each
bandmate laying down some serious grooves on tunes like Hanky Panky, Aire and Prelude To Aire, which of course
feature the horn work of the founders Lee Loughnane, Walter Parazaider and James Pankow.
Several of the fine tunes on this well-crafted album also feature the sorely missed vocals and guitar of Terry
Kath, where he truly shines on tracks like the progressive jazz rock infused Song Of The Evergreens and the stunning
Byblos, both of which make this fine album even more of a treasure trove of classic rock enjoyment.
Peter Cetera shines vocally throughout on the LP as well, especially on the hit acoustic ballad sounds of Happy
Man. While being one of the more signature songs from this collection, the tune also was known for its false start
making it one of Chicago's more collectable rarities if you were lucky to own the original vinyl version from 1974.

Buttons: From Champaign to ChicagoAt the launch of the Numero label near-on a decade ago, they already had an unquenchable thirst for power pop, glam, and regional bar rock. This affliction led to the double disc Yellow Pills: Prefill compilation, which was intended as the first entry in a series that, they regret to report, got stalled out in committee.
Seven years after its release, YP became the first Numero effort to be put to sleep. Emails began trickling in about the missing catalog number: Would YP ever be issued on vinyl? Would there ever be a second volume? Was The Toms track "Sun" actually recorded in the '80s? Hoping to satiate the masses, the Numero brain trust has conceived Buttons as their brand-spanking-new power pop umbrella, and is pleased to announce the first two titles in the series: Buttons: Starter Kit and Buttons: From Champaign To Chicago.
An homage to the prairie state Numero calls home, From Champaign To Chicago is a 19-track survey of Illinois' cheapest thrills. Reaching back to 1973 and Peoria outliers the Jets and ending in 1987 with Romeoville's Julian Leal and his Dick Clark approved "Get Away," From Champaign to Chicago connects, via map, pins, and string, the various scenes that pockmarked the face of the Land of Lincoln!1. Chicago/The Blues/Today! (Pure Pleasure) (Awaiting Repress)In early 1966, blues history was made with the issuance of a three-volume set of new recordings produced by blues historian Samuel Charters. This series was known as Chicago/The Blues/Today! and the release sent shock waves through the world of rock & roll. Every artist on the three volumes had recorded before (some, like Otis Rush and Junior Wells, had actually seen small hits on the R&B charts), but these recordings were largely their introduction to a newer -- and predominately white -- album-oriented audience. These recordings have stayed in print and have been reasonably good sellers over the years since their original release, all coming out on compact disc. This new packaging puts all three volumes together, but with no bonus tracks, as no extras were recorded for these sessions.
A plus in the new packaging, is that it features a nice booklet with detailed, updated notes from Charters, a nice appreciation from Ed Ward, and absolutely eye-boggling session photos taken by Charters' wife, Ann. Even if you still have the original vinyl or CDs, this is one of the times when it would be best to spend the dough and add this one to your collection, because blues records seldom come as important, innovative, or just plain pleasurable to listen to as this set. File under 'essential'.

About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.LP1

Minutes Of The Original Church Service
Includes 7 Previously Unreleased Tracks
Liner Notes By Renowned Author And
Documentarian Robert Gordon
Freedom Highway Complete: Recorded Live at Chicago's New Nazareth
Church is a newly remixed, remastered and expanded edition of the live
concert masterpiece recorded by the Staple Singers in April 1965 in support
and celebration of that year's historic civil rights marches from Montgomery
to Selma, Alabama. In this stirring collection you will find the fervent
emotions and depth of feeling that only the most inspired gospel, folk and
handclapping music can provide.
First released on Epic Records as an LP in 1965 the original Freedom
Highway album was constrained by the time limits of 12" vinyl and the full
service was edited down to only include key performance tracks. Freedom
Highway Complete: Recorded Live at Chicago's New Nazareth Church
is newly expanded to include 30+ additional minutes of the original
performance and church service.
The exultant title song, "Freedom Highway", was written in March, 1965, at
the time Rev. Martin Luther King led the momentous freedom march from
Selma to Montgomery, Alabama. "When the Saints Go Marching In," "He's
All Right" and "We Shall Overcome" are other songs of a jubilant nature. In
the last selection, The Staple Singers are joined by the great choir of the
New Nazareth Church under the direction of Miss Ora Lee Hopkins.1. Intro by Pops Staples*

Age Ain't Nothing But A NumberAge Ain't Nothing but a Number is the debut studio album by American R&B recording artist Aaliyah, originally released under Jive and Blackground Records on May 24, 1994, in the United States.
After being signed by her uncle Barry Hankerson, Aaliyah was introduced to recording artist and producer R. Kelly. He became her mentor, as well as the lead songwriter and producer of the album. The duo recorded the album at the Chicago Recording Company in Chicago, Illinois. The album featured two hit singles, including the top ten charting Back & Forth and At Your Best (You Are Love); both singles were certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). One additional single followed in the US: Age Ain't Nothing but a Number. Two more singles were released internationally after Age Ain't Nothing But a Number: Down with the Clique and The Thing I Like.
Aaliyah was credited for redefining R&B by blending her voice with Kelly's new jack swing. The album peaked at number 18 on the Billboard 200 and sold over three million copies in the United States. The album was certified Gold in Canada by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) and Gold in the United Kingdom by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) to date. Despite the brief time span of their existence (1992-
1994), Rodan appeared on a surprising number of records.
Aside from their classic (and only) full length album Rusty
(1994 on Quarterstick Records), the band released the Aviary
demo cassette, and the How The Winter Was Passed single.
They also contributed tracks to the Compulsiv For Two,
Inclined Plane, and Merry Christmas Is For Rockers
compilations as well as releasing a song on the soundtrack to
the film Half Cocked (in which they also acted), and recording
a brilliant session at the BBC studios in London for the John
Peel show (unreleased until now).1 Darjeeling

Mississippi born, Los Angeles-based singer and
songwriter Maurice Smith has a feel for classic soul,
and he fed that love through his work with artists like Sy
Smith, Tony Toni Tone, Seal and Beyonce.
While Maurice claims artists like Bill Withers and Marvin
Gaye as influences, one can hear an awful lot of Curtis
Mayfield meets James Brown in his music. And that goes
for his brand new single, the hot, horn-filled "Can't Fight
The Feeling." If you are a lover of Southern & Northern
Soul with a Chicago Funk twist, you're going to love this
cut. " I really think Maurice Nailed this record and gives
a great funky soul punch that can be heard on the dance
floors nationwide," says by Marvyn Mack. President of

The Band's Debut Release on their Newly Launched dBpm Records
For Wilco, the release of The Whole Love represents more than just the eighth studio album from this innovative Chicago rock band. It signifies yet another new chapter in the bands constantly evolving, enduring and storied career. Just as their departure from Warner Bros. for the release of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot created a thrilling story, now The Whole Love, on their newly launched dBpm Records, sets one of contemporary music's most creative and independent-minded bands on a wide open road.
Recorded in their northside Chicago loft, the 12 new songs on The Whole Love capture the balance between the bands art sensibilities, their fondness for traditional American music and their love of classic guitar-driven pop rock. The Whole Love is a veritable sonic stew, showcasing Wilcos far-reaching musical prowess (multiple guitars, keyboards, synthesizers and percussion plus Mellotron, strings, loops and more) perfectly accompany Jeff Tweedys provocative and insightful lyrics. The album was produced by the band and engineered by Tom Schick (Ryan Adams, Rufus Wainwright).
Coinciding with the albums release will be the first leg of Wilcos North American tour, including 2 nights in Toronto's Massey Hall, New York City's Central Park, Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and Atlanta plus shows in Boston, DC, Raleigh, St. Louis and a bunch of other cool stuff east of the Mississippi. AtlasLet's get down to brass tacks: Ridgewood, NJ's Real Estate took a mighty leap
forward on their last go-around... more record sales... bigger shows... and, more
importantly, a timeless classic of an album, Days. It's been two years since the
release of Days, and it's an album that still sounds as fresh today as it did on
release date. Their new album, Atlas, builds upon the lush guitar warmth of Days
while adding more powerful harmonies and keyboard flourishes bringing even more
depth to their heart-warming sound.
Atlas was recorded over the summer at Wilco's Chicago recording studio, The Loft,
with producer/mixer Tom Schick (Wilco, Rufus Wainwright, Alex Chilton), and while
this pairing that looks so good on paper, sounds even better on record!

The Rockin' Chair AlbumImport
Howlin' Wolf is the third studio album from Chicago blues singer/guitarist/harmonica player Howlin' Wolf. It is a collection of six singles previously released by the Chess label from 1960 through 1962. Because of the illustration on its sleeve, the album is often called The Rockin' Chair Album, which was eventually adopted on subsequent pressings.
The album has had quite some influence on later musicians. In 1966, fellow Chess artist Koko Taylor recorded a cover version of "Wang Dang Doodle" which reached #4 on the Billboard's R&B Charts and became a minor crossover hit. Earlier in 1963 Sam Cooke released a single of "Little Red Rooster" making #7 on the R&B Singles chart and #11 on the Hot 100. In 1969 the songs "Shake for Me" and "Back Door Man" were used in the lyrics to the Led Zeppelin song "Whole Lotta Love".1. Shake For Me
