The Scout 2 features a 1 7/8 thick aluminum platter (with a stainless steel damping plate) in place of the Scout's 1 3/8 acrylic platter.

The result of mating a great platter to a simple good looking design! In only seven years, the VPI Scout has become the industry standard as the best-reviewed turntable on the planet! For 2009, we saw fit to bring some big improvements to its best-selling turntable. You may recognize the outboard motor and the plinth, but you will do a double take at the exquisite platter and tonearm.

Every VPI Scout II comes standard with the JMW 9T! This incredible tonearm features a redesigned armtube that is tapered and filled with a proprietary damping material. This revolutionary design greatly reduces internal resonance, yielding a full and rich sound, with a vast soundstage and increased resolution and detail. The added mass also produces deeper bass response and fantastic compatibility with moving coil cartridges.

For maximum stability and speed accuracy the platter is made from 1 7/8 thick machined 6061 aluminum and is attached to a nonmagnetic 303 stainless steel damping plate. The entire piece weighs in at an impressive 18 pounds! Because the aluminum is grounded to the steel, there is virtually no static buildup or sonic degradation. What's in the grooves is what comes out of your speakers.

The VPI Scout II's plinth is made from 1 1/8 thick MDF bonded to a 12 gauge steel plate giving a rigid, non-resonant plinth. The massive platter sits on chrome-hardened ball bearing held by a 60 Rockwell-hardened shaft, below which is a black delrin nut.

The VPI Scout II generates absolutely no additional noise for a pristinely quiet spin. The AC synchronous motor is contained in a separate steel housing and drives the platter via an Aries belt. This combination produces quiet yet stable running with extremely accurate speed. Speeds are 33 and 45 standard, while 78 is optional.

The VPI Classic 1 turntable comes standard with the unipivot JMW-10.5i tonearm Special Edition in rigid mount mode, new VPI silver coated pure copper wire, a 2.5 thick plinth trimmed with real black oak or real solid walnut finish (at no additional cost), a solid mounted 600 RPM AC synchronous motor, new 2 thick machined aluminum platter, silent inverted bearing, and new isolator feet derived from the HR-X.

The sound of the Classic 1 turntable is fast, clean, wide open, with deep powerful bass, and unequalled in speed stability. The Classic 1 turntable gives any turntable made regardless of price a serious run for the money.

This completely new design has produced the simplest and one of the best sounding VPI tables to date.

    VPI Classic Turntable Features:

Special Edition JMW-10.5i SE tonearm - By giving up vta on the fly adjustments, you get most of the sound of the highly reviewed JMW-10.5i tonearm. A new less expensive base and mounting saves hundreds of dollars but gives up little in sound.

New 6061 machined aluminum 18 pound high inertia platter with precision inverted bearing and stainless steel damping plate.

Speed stability on par with a master tape - Due to the rigid mounting of motor - platter - tonearm there is no random motion to cause speed instabilities.

Noise rejection allowing the Classic 1 turntable to sit on a wood shelf near four 15 subwoofers and having virtually no feedback.

Lack of random motion between the motor - platter - tonearm gives the ultimate in low level resolution. Not only does this rigidity improve speed stability, it also allows the retrievel of low level information challenging the world's great turntables and master tapes.

Absolutely solid, non-resonating laminated one-piece chassis holding all components. This is not a wooden frame; it is a solid laminated 2.5 thick MDF block with 11 gauge steel attached to the top with silicone and long bolts through all the layers. The chassis weighs 30 pounds and is totally non-resonant. Now with solid black oak or solid walnut wood finish on all four sides.

RCA jack termination so you can use the interconnect of your choice.

Tonearm anti-skate - For those that require the fine adjustment of anti-skate, it is standard on the JMW-10.5i SE.

Optional lift off full dustcover is available.

    Optional periphery ring clamp.

    Optional SDS power supply.

    Optional XLR conectors.

The VPI Avenger table was originally a project started by Harry over 12 years ago. In the process of the design the project was dropped in mid-production due to excessive demand by HR-X customers which left the design and proto-type chassis to be mothballed. The good news about the abandoned design is Harry instead shifted his focus into starting and completing the VPI Classic Turntable.

Shortly after the development of the Prime, and while cleaning out the warehouse in preparation for a dealer training event, the forgotten Avenger and its designs were re-discovered! The working name was the Tri-Pod Project. Being newly motivated, Harry has finally put in motion the table that will be his master piece! The unique iterations that had been crafted from the original process were completed as Special Editions.

This beautiful table comes standard with the Avenger Chassis and Classic Platter, JMW 10-3D Tonearm, Prime Motor with 2-Step Pulley, Classic Signature Feet and an HR-X Center Weight. Does not include SDS or Periphery Ring Clamp.

    Raising Hell

Up until Raising Hell, the rap juggernaut we know as Run-DMC was still in its building and breaking-down- doors phase. In 1986 that
changed, and in a dramatic way. With their third long-player, the group had reached the mountaintop. It was THE record that proved
    hip-hop wasn't a fad.

Raising Hell marked an important and significant new era for the group. Leaving producer Larry Smith for up-and- coming sonic
innovator Rick Rubin (still co-produced by Run's brother Russell Simmons), they began to fully transition not only their own sound, but
the sound of the entire genre. Less live playing - with some exceptions - and a slicker, tighter sonic attack. Musical aesthetics aside,
though, at their core they stayed true to the essence of hip-hop: two turntables and a microphone, or two.

It's impossible to talk about the album without its worldwide smash, "Walk This Way," which hit #4 on the Billboard pop charts and saw
the group digging in the rock crates to summon Aerosmith in the flesh, combining Steven Tyler's and Joe Perry's musicianship with the
group's own take on the '70s classic. The song's video cemented Run-DMC as legit MTV
idols, and both groups rode its wave to new heights.

Beyond "Walk This Way," the platter is full to the hilt with undeniable classic singles: "You Be Illin'"; "It's Tricky"; "Peter Piper" and the
fashion-world shifting "My Adidas." Each song was new proof that Run-DMC's sound was indeed new, but still familiar, and full of the
energy, charisma and innovation that drew fans to their first two LPs.

Aside from the singles, the reason the album stands up so well is the fact that there is virtually no filler. "Proud To Be Black" remains a
pioneering and underrated cut when people talk about "conscious" hip-hop. And to make sure they never lost the streets that gave them
their start, "Hit It Run," "Son Of Byford," "Is It Live" and "Perfection" all bring it back to the group's early days in the park.
Besides the triple platinum status the album achieved, it was more than just a pop smash. It signaled a new era for rap music, and it was
the no-turning- back point for the entire genre. This was the beginning of what we now call the Golden Era, and it still sounds as fresh
today as it did three decades ago.

High-end belt-driven turntable with 10 EVO carbon fiber tonearm, outboard motor, and included isolation base

Beautiful, clever design with ultimate high-end sound quality

Thanks to extensive research and development, we have now elevated our classic RPM design to an even higher level. The RPM 10 Carbon uses a new extra-heavy chassis which features a special CNC-machined MDF base with resin-coated steel pellets to form an extra-heavy and precise sandwich construction. A special, complex heat treatment and carbon surface coating ensures superior low resonance levels. The mass-loaded chassis is effectively decoupled from its surface using magnetic feet. Combined with a new special polished aluminum platter with internal TPE damping and a vinyl layer on top, the inverted ceramic main bearing delivers an absolutely stable turntable speed with extra-low rumble due to the magnetic suspension of the platter. The heavy outboard motor unit is equipped with precise motor control and features a built-in switch between 33 & 45 rpm. Last but not least, the no-compromise 10 EVO tonearm with conical carbon-fiber arm tube and inverted bearing design ensures perfect tracking, even with demanding cartridges. Orbit Plus Turntable (Black)

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.

    Performance priced right

A turntable should be reliable and easy to use, but most importantly it should sound great. High-performance tables can be prohibitively expensive, and budget tables too often sacrifice quality for unnecessary features. So we set out to build a turntable that outperforms its price tag.

By redesigning classic audiophile components and leaving out nonessentials, we created a remarkably simple table that provides warm and detailed sound. Easy to setup and use, the Orbit delivers a dynamic and distortion-free listening experience.

    A quiet revolution

The Orbit's low voltage AC synchronous motor provides excellent speed consistency and minimizes pitch variation (wow & flutter). The motor is decoupled from the plinth by a unique rubber suspension that prevents unwanted vibrations from seeping into the sound.

The Orbit's CNC machined pulley turns an exposed drive belt and plays both 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records. The platter rides on an inverted main bearing - providing superior stability and reduced bearing noise (rumble). In other words, all you hear is the music on your record.

    A perfectly balanced tonearm

The tonearm is the crucial link between your record and your speakers. To do its job well, it must achieve harmony between tracking force, mass distribution, and rigidity. The Orbit's innovative unipivot arm turns effortlessly on an inverted pyramid of precision ball bearings, and works with the arm's low center of mass to provide accurate tracking.

Every Orbit comes pre-fitted with an Ortofon OM 5E moving magnet (MM) cartridge, which is balanced by an adjustable stainless steel counterweight.

    Take it for a spin

The Orbit is ready to play out of the box. Cartridges come pre-installed with tracking force properly adjusted, so all you have to do is turn the table on and lower the arm. A dust cover, felt mat, and RCA cables are all included with every table. Check out the Orbit Basic or Plus, or you can use our Orbit customization tool to select your own color, platter, cartridge, preamp, and add-ons. Parts are interchangeable so you can upgrade down the line and tailor your turntable to your needs.

    Made with love in Boston

Every Orbit is assembled by hand in our Woburn, Massachusetts workshop. Prior to shipping, each turntable goes through comprehensive listening, wow & flutter, and rumble tests, as well as a 15-point performance evaluation. Every Orbit comes with a one year warranty.

The vast majority of our parts are sourced within the US. Our acrylic platters are turned in Ohio. Our plinths come from Minnesota, and our metal parts from Connecticut. By keeping our suppliers close and our assembly in-house, we are able to maintain a high level of quality.

A special complex heat treatment and a carbon surface coating ensure superior low resonance levels. The mass-loaded chassis is effectively decoupled from its surface using magnetic feet. Combined with a new special polished aluminum platter with internal TPE damping and a vinyl layer on top, the inverted ceramic main bearing delivers an absolute stable turntable speed with extra low rumble. The extra heavy outboard motor unit is equipped with a precise motor control and features a built-in switch between 33 & 45 rpm. Last but not least the no compromise 9" EVO tonearm with conical carbon-fiber armtube and inverted bearing design ensures perfect tracking, even with demanding cartridges.

    With 2M Red Cartridge

The best-buy turntable classic with carbon tonearm and DC power supply!

The first Debut turntable, introduced in the late 1990s, was a revolution for the hi-fi industry. For the first time after the arrival of Compact Disc and the assumed demise of vinyl records, an analogue product re-emerged in the "mass market" - something all music lovers could afford.

The new DEBUT Carbon DC has been designed to set new standards in this category for the coming decade - perfectly timed as analogue today is again a respected source, while the demand for good turntables is growing again!

The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a CARBON TUBE for the tonearm, which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. This material normally is extensively used in high-end tonearms, but - because of cost reasons - was never used in products at lower price levels. Together with other improvements like an increase in platter size and weight to realize even smoother rotation, the overall sound quality is greatly improved. The approved belt drive design offers low noise AC motor with effective motor decoupling (utilizing TPE-damping) and ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability without unwanted vibration.

The DEBUT CARBON DC will be offered in high-gloss black or shiny red, green, blue, yellow, purple, silver or white as no-added-cost option.

    But Seriously Folks

There arent too many legends like guitar hero Joe Walsh. From his mid-west beginnings with The James Gang, he racked up enough significant sales and airplay to warrant his very own massive solo career, then performing later with Barnstorm and then three decades plus with The Eagles.

As if a whirlwind tour and unbelievable album success with The Eagles Hotel California werent enough for this spirited guitarist, Walsh went back into the studio in 1978 and created his own top chart platter But Seriously, Folks.

Filled with eight unprecedented Walsh rockers, But Seriously, Folks was truly one of his most enduring classics in large part due to the eight minute burner Lifes Been Good. This song will forever be associated with the '70s rock superstar lifestyle binge as it was also a featured song in the rock movie soundtrack extravaganza FM.

Even more time tested tracks like the blues rocker At The Station, AOR classics Over And Over and Tomorrow plus the brilliant and melodic Indian Summer made this the album of choice for many rock radio programmers for over a year upon its initial release.

As a first installment in their Joe Walsh 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series, Friday Music is very pleased to present his career masterwork But Seriously, Folks as a first time ever high quality vinyl release. Mastered from the original Asylum Records tapes by Joe Reagoso (Jeff Beck/ Deep Purple/Yes) at Friday Music Studios with Kevin Gray. Features the rare original gatefold artwork and a poly lined inner sleeve to help keep your vinyl in mint shape.

    Doin' It To Death

For starters, this platter begins with one of the great intros of all time: "Ladies and gentlemen, there are seven acknowledged wonders of the
world. You are about to witness the eighth "

Lodged in a deep groove between the JB's' debut LP Food For Thought (1972) and the more complex and at-times political Damn Right, I Am
Somebody (from 1974) sits the ridiculously vampy and infectious classic, Doing It To Death. First moving hips and making heads nod in 1973,
the James Brown-produced, 5-song album is one big funk lick, broken up into many delicious moving parts.

As with pretty much everything produced by the JB's - led by Fred Wesley with heavy help from a supporting cast that included saxophonist
Maceo Parker, guitarists Jimmy Nolen and Hearlon "Cheese" Martin and drummer John "Jabo" Starks - all songs began and revolved around
a devastating riff. The title track is most certainly guilty-as-charged, as it starts strutting right out of the gate and continues for just over 10
minutes, driven by a guitar lick and MCed by the inimitable James Brown, with soloists stepping up and out while the song chugs on.

The other centerpiece of the album is the 8-minute "You Can Have Watergate Just Gimme Some Bucks And I'll Be Straight," whose groove is
interestingly teased two times before it arrives in full form. The song title itself is provocative, and the music keeps a stone-cold groove despite
the less than cheery undertones. Again driven by an infectious guitar morsel, the breakdowns in this song gave sampling producers and DJs
sweet dreams in the '80s, and Fred Wesley's trombone solo rides beautifully over the group's cries of "We need some money."

Beyond the aforementioned sure-shots, the twitchy "More Peas," "La Di Da La Di Day" and the much jazzier, solo-heavy "Sucker" round out
this incredible album. It's just another perfect example of how James Brown's funk machine could stop the world when they hit a groove.

Daddy Plays The Horn (Pure Pleasure)

During a period of Dexter Gordon's (tenor sax) life -- when he was deep in the throws of chronic drug addiction -- the artist was miraculously able to reignite his career during the latter part of 1955. After several years of being out of the spotlight, Gordon resurfaced on the Big Apple-based indie Bethlehem imprint with the half-dozen sides that comprise Daddy Plays The Horn (1956).

While the support team provides Gordon top-notch contributions throughout, it is unquestionably Drew who offers the most in terms of active interaction and his prominence can not be overstated. Nowhere is that as noticeable as the good-natured interaction heard on the disc's opener, the Gordon-penned title composition Daddy Plays The Horn. In fact it could be argued that Drew enhances the tenor to the point of practically being a co-leader. The update of Charlie 'Bird' Parker's bop standard Confirmation is taken at a steady mid-tempo pace, allowing plenty of room for the participants to have their say and not get in the way of the melody. Gordon seems considerably more relaxed and comfortable as he spreads line upon line of inspired improvisation. Drew is once again a real treat to hear briefly taking charge of the rhythm section. The pair of ballads on Daddy Plays The Horn are nothing short of stellar and stand as simple, emotive expressions unto themselves. Darn That Dream embraces the warmth of Gordon's tenor as his sensual phrasing leaves just enough space for Drew to sonically bridge the gap with his own unhurried and stylish chords. The generically monikered Number Four is anything but ordinary. The Gordon original jumps right from the opening and the ensemble lets loose with equally solid licks beneath his cool tone. Drew gets in the driver's seat missing nary a measure to reveal what could easily be his most tasteful contributions to date. The same can be said of bassist Vinnegar, who is briefly spotlighted on an efficient (if not somewhat sparse) solo. Autumn in New York -- the album's other essential ballad -- is proof that despite Gordon's addiction, he had retained his singular and precious sense of lyricism. Indeed, the Great American Songbook entry has rarely been permeated in such a meaningful way. The seamless transitions between Gordon and Drew are further evidence of their undeniable bond. Saving what may be the best example of the gathered instrumentalists flexing their respective be-bop muscle, You Can Depend On Me rounds out the platter with a bang.

    Musicians:

    • Dexter Gordon (tenor saxophone)

    • Kenny Drew (piano)

    • Leroy Vinnegar (bass)

    • Larry Marable (drums)

Recording: September 1955 in Hollywood, CA.

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

    Headquarters Stack-O-Tracks

First Time 180 Gram Audiophile Clear Vinyl Release

Mastered Impeccably By Monkees Fan & Friend Joe Reagoso At Friday Music Studios & Capitol Mastering, Hollywood, CA From The Colgems Record Tapes

    The Summer Of Love's First Album .... Re-Visited.... Re-Imagined...

    The Monkees Headquarters/ Stack-O-Tracks

The Original Instrumental Backing Tracks To Their Most Celebrated Album

    First Time Authorized Alternate Artwork

Yes... The Monkees Could Play Guitars, Bass, Drums, Piano, Steel Guitar, Organ, Banjo, Tambourine, Percussion..... and Play Them Well!!!

In 1967 after two number one albums, a plethora of hit singles and a smash television show, The Monkees were on top and knew they each had true musical talents not championed by their label executives. Michael Nesmith spearheaded a change in direction before sessions began on their legendary Headquarters album. This action resulted in the much-covered dissolution with music mogul Don Kirshner, as Chip Douglas (The Turtles) was now recruited by Nesmith to work with the band.

In rapid succession, things began to fall into place in February 1967. With initial tracks like country rocker Sunny Girlfriend, the band set the stage for what would become one of the most loved works in their catalog and one of the finest rock albums of a generation. A definite album opener, You Told Me begins Headquarters. The track features a brilliant 12 string guitar of Nesmith, as Tork's incredible banjo fills the track alongside Dolenz's driving drum work. With Jones' percussion, it became the very first song that many of us remember as we opened up our new copies back in the summer of '67. Not straying too far from previous success, the band scored a few more of Boyce and Hart compositions like Micky Dolenz's folk rock ballad I'll Spend My Life With You. The solid steel guitar work of Mike Nesmith became somewhat of a precursor to his groundbreaking Nashville sessions in the late sixties. Davy Jones has several watershed moments here with both Forget That Girl and Early Morning Blues and Greens Forget That Girl employs a unique English northern soul vibe, while the latter shares a wonderful rhythm presentation making it one of the more psychedelic infused and standout tracks on the LP. Michael Nesmith's handiwork is radiant on the entire album. You May Just Be The One rocks the album into full gear and makes it one of his and the bands' definitive landmark tracks. Headquarters also brought rightful acclaim to Peter Tork, as his first recorded Monkees' song For Pete's Sake soon became a prolific standard. The song transcended with the times and became one of the more insightful tunes from the quartet. It also replaced the familiar Monkees Theme at the end of season two, giving the song more TV exposure over the years. And as always, you can count on Micky Dolenz to deliver - whether it's his hard rock driving drum work on rockers like Randy Scouse Git & No Time, or his prog-rock feel on Mr. Webster, the album was definitely a great showcase for the artist.

The Monkees' Headquarters was one of 4 albums of The Monkees that topped the charts in 1967. This fact alone is enough to warrant the importance of this album in musical history. But there are other amazing feats that Headquarters managed to deliver to millions of fans on its eventful release back in May of 1967. The album hit the stores before Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. Friendly rivals as they were, Headquarters rose to number one and also opened the door to The Summer of Love. It remained in the upper rung of the retail charts until their fourth platter Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. became a number one album to close out the year. Wow! Most notably, Headquarters showed the real world the transition of four talented guys on a hit TV show evolving into a self-produced, self-reliant, and one of the most loved bands in musical history, and yes, they could actually play their instruments .and they did it well!

As another installment in our extensive Monkees catalog, Friday Music is pleased to announce a unique revisit to their third masterwork as we've now gone back to the original backing tracks and have assembled a fun and exciting instrumental Lp with The Monkees Headquarters Stack-O-Tracks. For this limited edition Friday Music release, we are pleased to offer for the first time on vinyl, the rare backing instrumental backing tracks, newly and impeccably mastered by Joe Reagoso (The Monkees/Brian Wilson) from the original Colgems Records masterwork.

Joe Reagoso notes You've never heard 'Shades Of Gray' until you hear the strings up front like you will on this new vinyl release. Michael Nesmith's work on 'You May Just Be The One' is beyond thrilling, you feel like you are in the studio with the band as they knock out this and other Monkees classics. From beginning to end, song after song, we always knew how special Headquarter was, and now this further showcases the artistry and musical acumen each man brought to the sessions. Truly a crowning achievement. To further enhance your Monkees listening enjoyment, we are also pressing the limited edition album on clear 180 Gram audiophile vinyl, as well as including a revisit to the original album cover artwork, now with the rare Monkees beard photo not issued on vinyl in many years, and first time authorized colorization effects to the original artwork to celebrate fifty years of this classic rock album for the fans. 1967 ..The Summer Of Love A very hip time in our American culture you can now relive with these newly impeccably mastered recordings from the much-loved band that broke a lot of ground in a very short time and made the world a much better place for it The Monkees Headquarters Stack-O- Tracks Only From Your Friends At Friday Music!
