Black Swan is a 2010 American psychological thriller film directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Mila Kunis and Winona Ryder. The plot revolves around a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet by a prestigious New York City company. Usually described as a psychological thriller, Black Swan can be also interpreted as a metaphor for achieving artistic perfection, with all the psychological and physical challenges one might encounter.

The original score for the film was composed by Clint Mansell, an English musician, composer, and former lead singer of the band Pop Will Eat Itself. Mansell was introduced to film scoring when director Darren Aronofsky hired him to score his debut film, Pi. Ever since Mansell wrote the score for many of Aronofsky's films. Notable film scores include Pi, The Fountain, Moon, Smokin' Aces, Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Doom, Black Swan, and High-Rise.

    Last Night

Last Night is a 2010 romantic drama directed by Massy Tadjedin featuring Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet. The story follows a married couple, apart for a night while the husband takes a business trip with a colleague to whom he's attracted. While he's resisting temptation, his wife encounters her past love.

The score (surprisingly unavailable until now) is composed by one of the most exciting composers of our times, Clint Mansell (the long time musical collaborator of director Darren Aronofsky: Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, Black Swan, The Wrestler, Pi). This beautiful, piano driven score is finally available and features the end credit song Final Movement composed by Clint Mansell and with vocals by Peter Broderick. 180g vinyl pressing.

Like the finest writing Ive read, Clints music grips unexpectedly and stays with you as long as it does in exactly the same way. For what we had managed to capture and steal and amass, Clint provided tone, shading, pacing and the indefinable otherness only music can. - Massy Tadjedin, Director

    Zones Without People

Whether paired with Taylor Richardson (Infinity Window) or solo (Oneohtrix Point Never), Daniel Lopatin rarely strays from the world of science fiction. Each synthesized note; each string of composition; each fractured note a piece of a world once brought to us by Carl Sagan and Leonard Nimoy. Zones Without People continues to explore the vast virginal openness that is space-and like the atmosphere he deftly reproduces in sound, Lopatin's boundaries are always contracting and expanding to create music for all beings of the universe.

Zones Without People is the spastic cousin of Clint Mansell's soundtrack to the sci-fi film, Moon. Where Mansell built spatial melodies around isolation, Lopatin's synth-and-bleep collage bridges the emptiness of space with the fertile imagination of the science geek in all of us. Zones Without People is the sound of haywire robots (Learning to Control Myself), malfunctioning spacecrafts (Format and Journey North), and shooting stars (Hyperdawn) all wrapped within the universe's infinite expansion. Rather than separate his 8-bit sound effects and his lush synth drones, Lopatin marries the two in perfect harmony. The mechanisms we've associated with space exploration thanks to countless films and documentaries are funneled through Lopatin's rich textures, producing the quintessential sci-fi album for anyone who adores how previous generations interpreted the music of the planets.

Daniel Lopatin does not shy away from the sounds of high school science films nor is he afraid of creating music with boundaries, which is why Zones Without People will continually amaze. Lopatin's latest puts a whole new spin on the clichÉ, It's a grower-as just in space, Zones Without People is ever-growing with the reverberations of one big bang.

    Loving Vincent (Original Soundtrack Album)

    Pressed On 180-Gram Yellow Vinyl

Housed In Packaging Designed By Director Dorota Kobiela

"Loving Vincent" is the upcoming biographical animated film from newcomer directors Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman. The movie follows Armand Roulin (Douglas Booth), the son of an acquaintance of Vincent van Gogh, as he attempts to deliver a letter from the painter following van Gogh's death. Armand soon finds himself retracing the steps taken by Vincent in his final days in an attempt to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death. A film unlike any other, "Loving Vincent" is entirely hand painted - each of the movie's 65,000 frames is an oil painting on a canvas created using the same techniques as Vincent van Gogh.

In addition to being a wonder for the eyes, "Loving Vincent" is a treat for the ears. Scoring duties fell to English composer Clint Mansell (Requiem For A Dream, Black Swan), who has crafted a masterpiece. Somber yet driven, Mansell's compositions are filled the swell of mournful strings pocked with delicate, deliberate notes in countermelodies. A perfect companion to the story of dreadful loss and resigned understanding, "Loving Vincent" demands to be heard. A beautiful rendition of "Starry Starry Night" performed by Lianne La Havas that serves as the film's credit song is also included.

I Speak Machine are filmmaker Maf Lewis plus vocalist and synth-nerd Tara Busch. Together they make brooding soundtracks and sci-fi horror films, creating audio and visual in unison and giving both elements equal prominence. Their approach is inspired by Spaghetti Western cinema duo Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone, who used to play with score ideas for scenes while scripts were being written. I Speak Machine's debut offering is The Silence, an eerie and synth heavy journey to accompany their short film of the same name. Early supporters of I Speak Machine include new wave pioneer John Foxx (Ultravox) and soundtrack composer Clint Mansell (Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan). I Speak Machine and illustrator Tommy Lee Edwards are currently working together on further developments to The Silence project.

    McCanick Soundtrack

    1000 Unit Limited Edition Vinyl

An intrepid musical enigma. - BBC

Directed by Josh C. Waller and starring Rachel Nichols, Cory Monteith
and Mike Vogel, McCanick tells the story of a narcotics detective on
the hunt for a seemingly harmless young criminal who know the truth
about the cop's past. The film takes place over the course of 24 hours.

The music is composed by acclaimed Icelandic
composer Jóhann Jóhannsson who recently scored Denis
Villeneuve's Prisoners. The score is beautiful, elegant and haunting
and does not fit the traditional definition of film music. Jóhann
Jóhannsson belongs to this generation of modern composers such as
Max Richter, Clint Mansell, and Cliff Martinez who combine classical
orchestration with electronic music. Famous for his melancholic solo
albums, Jóhann Jóhannsson has created with McManick a score that
stands on its own and plays out as a full on artist record
complementing an already rich and beautiful repertoire.

If is the debut solo album from Bill Ryder-Jones. Written as a tribute to Italian avant-garde author Italo Calvinos postmodern novel If On A Winters Night A Traveller, If is mapped out as soundtrack inspired by the book. Grand orchestral movements sit side by side with stark, nakedly emotional vocal pieces that weave a a bleak but beautifully moving and always visceral narrative.

The album was recorded in various locations around Ryder-Jones hometown of Liverpool, including a Scandinavian Church, the Grade II listed warehouse Elevator Studios and his mothers house. Musicians, friends, parents and even the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra pulled together in order for If to become a reality. The Liverpool Philharmonic joined Ryder-Jones at the friary in Everton Valley for the instrumental tracks, of which there are five out of the ten on the record.

Taking its cue from Abel Korzeniowskis off-kilter soundtrack for Tom Fords acclaimed film A Single Man, Ifs influences are eclectic and diverse, from modern cinema composers like Michael Galasso (Seraphine) and Clint Mansell (The Wrestler, Black Swan) to psychedelic sorcerer Syd Barrett, Nick Cave and nineties Welsh indie-psych disciples Gorkys Zygotic Mynci.

Scotland's Mogwai are not only legendary experimental rock icons, but also well-established soundtrack titans - sound sculptors behind an impressive spectrum of cinematic releases (both full soundtracks and contributions): Including their last film soundtrack, Atomic (2016), there's been consistent acclaim through Michael Mann's Miami Vice (2006), The Fountain (2006, collaborating with Clint Mansell and Kronos Quartet), Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait (2007), Amnesty International's PEACE project (2010), international hit French TV series Les Revenants (2013), and Leonardo DiCaprio's climate change documentary Before The Flood (2016) alongside soundtrack Oscar-winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

The staggeringly prolific force that is Mogwai return less than a year after their standout new album, Every Country's Sun, to provide the soundtrack to the anticipated, acclaimed new sci-fi major motion picture, KIN. Like their beloved soundtracks to Atomic and Les Revenants, KIN uses the band's original score as the genesis and point of departure for an expanded, fully developed album of new songs. KIN is cinematic maximalism and synth-rock minimalism delivered with the signature introspective grace that has defined and refined Mogwai's decades-long reputation.

    Built In Sun

Built In Sun is a new project from Joe Plummer, drummer for The Shins, Cold War Kids
and Mister Heavenly. Joe has also produced and co-recorded an all drum project
called Hew Time (with Dale Crover and Coady Willis from The Melvins), released on
Joyful Noise in 2014. Joe has also toured and recorded with Modest Mouse and The
Black Heart Procession drums and percussion over the course of the last 10 years.
Built In Sun started during touring breaks between The Shins "Port of Morrow" and
Cold War Kids "Hold My Home" releases. Built in Sun began as an instrumental idea,
with inspirations landing somewhere between John Cales "Fear", the punk vibe of the
Wipers and John Reis, and his favorite soundtrackists John Brion and Clint Mansell.
After the first instrumental mixes were finished (with the help of Richard Swift) he
decided that the tunes and melodies just might be cool enough to ask a few of his pals
to sing. Pall Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession) was the first. Within a day Pall sent
back John John, with solid scratch vocals. Another song came the next day, with new
ones following almost each day afterward .There was no use to ask anyone else.
The songs really came together with the addition of Pall's vocals and it felt great to
collaborate with him again. With this, Built In Sun was complete
