    Eddie Money

Mastered By Ryan Smith At Sterling Sound

Plated And Pressed At Quality Record Pressings!

    Stoughton Printing Old-Style Tip-On Jacket

Edward Joseph Mahoney, a Brooklyn-born second-generation cop who eventually ditched his badge and gun to pursue his rock star dreams as Eddie Money - struck gold right off the bat with his 1977 self-titled debut album.

The record's leadoff single, Baby Hold On, was actually its biggest hit, but the follow-up single Two Tickets to Paradise, was a sort of spiritual cousin to Bruce Springsteen's Rosalita (Come Out Tonight). It's written from the perspective of a young guy who's desperately trying to convince his girlfriend to ignore her disapproving parents and come away with him on a trip so far away from here. With its smooth production, urgent uptempo chorus, and insistent melodic hook, Tickets was a natural for late '70s FM radio - where it found an immediate home, eventually working its way all the way up to No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Although Money might have written Two Tickets to Paradise to convince a specific girl to leave town with him, its title became shorthand for that end-of-the-work-week feeling you get when you've fulfilled all of your responsibilities to the Man and you're free to relax without obligations for a little while - like, say, at at an Eddie Money concert, where Tickets has remained a constant fixture of the set list for more than 30 years.

We've done this Analogue Productions issue up right with top-of-the-line remastering from Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound - for phenomenal sonic quality - and a richly detailed, silent-background Quality Record Pressings 200 gram LP. None better.

    Breakin' Away

    Import

Breakin' Away is a great follow-up of Soul crooner Al Jarreau to his previous album This Time. The album was released on in 1981 andbecame the standard bearer of the L.A. Pop and R&B sound. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Breakin' Away assumes its own identity with brilliant results. Closer To Your Love comes off as a tougher, more confident version of the songs from the previous album. Easy with its gorgeous and subtle Latin flourishes has Jarreau's purposeful delivery coming off oddly poignant in its joy and beauty. The hit We're in This Love Together is on the album, just as the bittersweet My Old Friend. Jarreau brings new life to Teach Me Tonight and it has a sweeping, dreamy arrangement. But the album of course contains the biggest hit of all, Roof Garden, with Al's inimitable vocal delivery.

The album was created with an amazing producer/artist chemistry, and top-level players like George Duke, David Foster, Dean Parks, and Steve Gadd can be heard on this record.

    Keep Away The Dead

Even as Siskiyou's first record was delivered to Constellation in early 2010 and getting prepped for release that fall, Colin Huebert remained holed up in Mara, BC (pop. 350) through the winter, writing more songs and eventually being joined by his Siskiyou co-conspirator Erik Arnesen for a few weeks of intensive recording. Unlike the material on their eponymous debut, which was largely recorded in nomadic fashion while Colin and Erik toured as members of Great Lake Swimmers, the Mara, BC sessions found the pair settled, rooted and with keys in hand to the century-old Mara Community Hall.

Most of the tunes on Keep Away The Dead were born at Mara Hall, where bed tracks were laid down in the crisp air during depth of winter. The arctic atmosphere of that empty, cavernous, hardwood structure was the perfect complement to Huebert's sensibility: a tense and acute restraint; a shivering, biting, sometimes bitter rending of barebones, folk-inflected rock music. (Neil Young remains a clear touchstone, overtly so with the album's cover of Revolution Blues as do the pointed, starkly controlled arrangements and textures of contemporaries like Angels Of Light.)

Huebert left Mara in spring 2010 and moved to Vancouver, where Siskiyou began to take shape as a full band with the addition of Shaunn Watt and Peter Carruthers. Coming off a season of extensive touring in Euope and Canada in fall 2010, Siskiyou had coalesced into an incisive quartet and hit Vancouver's JC/DC Studio in early 2011 with engineer David Carswell (Destroyer, New Pornographers), adding to the previous year's Mara sessions and cutting two more tunes for which Carswell ran the mix: Twigs And Stones and Revolution Blues. Huebert recorded and mixed the remainder of Keep Away The Dead (as he did on the previous record).

Where Siskiyou's debut was a stunning little scrapbook of short, sharp tunes, Keep Away The Dead ramps things up with subtle care and clarity, yielding something closer to a rural gothic novella in spirit and scope. The album is a strikingly cold-eyed, tender-hearted song cycle, marked by quiet defiance and desperation. Huebert's acoustic guitar and gently acetic voice, Arnesen's gorgeous banjo and treated guitar lines, and the judicious rhythm section of Watt and Carruthers deliver a superbly compelling album on the knife's edge of darkness, where each tune feels like another precious log thrown on a lone campfire burning in the cold night.

    Here Come The Runts

Multi-platinum artist AWOLNATION's third studio album 'Here Come The Runts' has been released by Red Bull Records.

"When all else is taken away, as long as your passion remains, anything is still possible," says singer, songwriter and producer Aaron Bruno. "'Passion' is about finding the balance that can lift both you and those around you to make the world a more positive place. It doesn't matter what names or labels people throw at you."

Serving as a follow up to the platinum-certified debut album Megalithic Symphony, and 2015's Run, which included No. 1 hit "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)" as well as Top 5 tracks "I Am" and "Woman Woman," AWOLNATION's third undertaking sees Aaron Bruno once again at the helm producing, writing and recording. "With this record I really wanted to make a rock n' roll/pop album." says Bruno. "And I say 'pop' how I grew up listening to it, in the sense of Dire Straits or Born In The U.S.A or The Cars or Tom Petty."

Bruno spent 2016 crafting the album in his home studio nestled in the coastal mountain range separating the Pacific Ocean and the suburbs of Los Angeles where he grew up. The secluded location is reflected throughout the album. "The record definitely has a feel to it that seems parallel to the vibe of this mountain and the land," Bruno notes. "It's like a non-GMO record. There's no fake shit on there, none of the vocals are tuned. It's all real playing."

With the albums he grew up listening to as a sort of goal post, Bruno set out to create his version of an all-American rock n' roll album; 2017, AWOLNATION style. "I wanted to make an album that felt like the dream of America that isn't necessarily true, certainly not as much as it once was. Or maybe it never has been but the idea of when you listen you just feel this nostalgic sentiment of a high school reunion, or that girl you fell in love with that you never got to talk to in junior high The feeling of unity and anthemic songs. The spirit of what I thought Born In The U.S.A was is what inspired this record in a lot of ways."

It Comes To You In A Plain Brown Wrapper

One of the most exciting aspects of reintroducing so much rare and incredible music to the world is being able to finally make available material thats been in label-vault limbo since the day it was recorded, vital sounds locked away from the deserving ears of the legions of devoted music fans we at Sundazed count ourselves among. But when were able to present previously shelved material by one of the most visionary and influential artists of all time, in exceptional fidelity, with the look and feel of the packaging that the artist originally meant it to have? Well, then, that just takes everything to another level completelya level thats certainly been reached with the exclusive vinyl-only issue of Captain Beefheart and His Magic Bands mind-blowing lost 1967 sessions.

Recorded in part as the follow-up to Safe as Milk, Beefhearts debut from earlier that year, the world-shattering material on It Comes to You in a Plain Brown Wrapper was rerecorded, truncated, and issuedwithout the Captains approvalas Strictly Personal in 1968. Mastered directly from the original analog tapes and featuring a wealth of unedited takes never before on vinyl, Sundazeds stunning gatefold double-LP release of this infamously enigmatic opus comes to you wrapped in a sharp outer sleeve bearing specially commissioned artwork by Frank Zappa/Straight Records illustrator Cal Schenkel replicating the albums planned 67 design; inside are rare photos and fascinating, exhaustive liner notes by Magic Band drummer John Drumbo French.

So here, then, is Captain Beefheart and His Magic Bands second album of gloriously disjointed avant-rock/blues and free-jazz skronk, presented just as natureand the Captainintended. Even after more than 40 years, this music is still hopelessly ahead of its timeor, as one-time Magic Band member Ry Cooder once described it, right on time.

Blind Blues Rocker Jeff Healey plays his Stratocaster flat on his lap, allowing him to perform unusual long stretches that give his music real heart and unpredictability.

His third album Feel This (1992) offers the power trio's meatiest and most satisfying outing. Here, the group captures much more of its trademark live intensity than in the past. The unobtrusive addition of keyboards adds a more expansive dimension to several tracks.

    ...Little Broken Hearts

    White Colored Vinyl

Little Broken Hearts is the stunning and musically diverse new break-up album from Norah Jones and fifth full-length of her storied career. The 12-song set was produced by Danger Mouse (aka Brian Burton) and features original tracks co-written by Jones and Burton. The album is preceded by the lead single Happy Pills which ushers in a parade of sunshiny hooks and surprised both Jones and Burton from the moment they wrote it: "We didn't know if it fit on the record. But I couldn't stop singing it, and neither could Brian. explains Jones. Eventually we decided it was too much fun, it had to be there."

In addition to Jones and Burton, the album includes contributions from Blake Mills, Gus Seyffert, Joey Waronker, Heather McIntosh, the Sonus Quartet, Dan Elkin, Jonathan Hischke, Todd Monfalcone and Kennie Takahashi. Little Broken Hearts' artwork draws inspiration from the vintage movie posters that adorn Burton's Los Angeles studio and is loosely based on the poster for the 1965 Russ Meyer film Mudhoney.

Little Broken Hearts' is the fascinating next step in the artistic evolution of one of the music world's most consistently intriguing singer/songwriters. Jones first emerged on the world stage 10 years ago with the 2002 release of Come Away With Me, her self-described "moody little record" that introduced a singular new voice and grew into a global phenomenon, sweeping the 2003 Grammy Awards and signaling a paradigm shift away from the prevailing synthetic pop music of the time. Come Away With Me has just become the 10th best-selling album of the Soundscan era and has sold 25 million copies worldwide.

Since then, Jones has released three more critically acclaimed and commercially successful solo albums with Feels Like Home (2004), Not Too Late (2007) and The Fall (2009), as well as two albums with her country collective The Little Willies.

The 2010 compilation Featuring Norah Jones showed her to possess an incredibly versatile voice by collecting her collaborations with artists as diverse as Willie Nelson, Outkast, Herbie Hancock and the Foo Fighters. Jones previously collaborated with Danger Mouse on his acclaimed 2011 album Rome, a valentine to classic Italian film score music that also featured Jack White.

    White Hot Moon

Ann Arbor's Pity Sex built the world of White Hot Moon, their second album, inch-by-inch. The band is using the foundation of 2013's celebrated Feast of Love as the framework for something bigger, stronger, and altogether more monumental. Coming off of tours with Ceremony, Eskimeaux, and Colleen Green-including a run in Australia-the band dove into the studio with Feast of Love producer Will Yip to harness that momentum into an album to showcase Pity Sex's growth. And if White Hot Moon wears its ambition on its sleeve, that's by design: the band looked to wide-screen albums by Yo La Tengo and Sonic Youth for inspiration in finding a bigger sound. That shows: Drake and Greaves spin huge webs of sound, anchored in shoegaze but branching off in a dozen directions, from fuzzed-out power-pop ("Bonhomie") to shimmering balladry ("Dandelion") and back again, while St. Charles and Pierce lock into step subtly counterintuitive rhythms and floor-shaking low-end. The result of this playful but dedicated approach to their craft: wherever you visit White Hot Moon, you'll come away refreshed, revitalized, and ready for Pity Sex to guide you along the rest of the trip.

Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship

Log onto an India.Arie lyrics page and you won't come away expecting an easy-breezy listen--here's an artist, remember, who made a name for herself by declaring her disdain for silicone and Cristal on her 2001 debut. What's consistently a revelation for new recruits to the Arie camp, then, is how good the music makes you feel. No matter how heavy the subject matter (and it still gets heavy--God surfaces in the first verse of Intro, the prayerful opening song), she delivers it in such a way that it ends up feeling like homespun wisdom--accessible, cloudless, and heartening. Testimony, no minor R&B/soul achievement, is full of such earth-mother moments: The Heart of the Matter, a cover of the Don Henley song, is what a hug might sound like if it were music; There's Hope reminds tunefully that you don't have to pay to smile (You better thank God for that); Private Party points up the benefits of getting naked before a mirror and liking what you see (impossible as that sounds, it'll seem less so after listening); and I Am Not My Hair, a sexy thumper featuring Akon, celebrates not the hair, not the skin, but the soul that lives within. Musically, Testament is a testament to the benefits of branching out; in addition to gospel and hip-hop, you'll also find country and pure pop forays here. All of it works, and works wondrously. Arie may be the Oprah of the music world: she's spiritual, she's got her head screwed on straight, and whatever she touches turns to gold. Or at least it ought to. --Tammy La Gorce

    The Best Of Gloucester County

The whole represents a new and welcome chapter in the Danielson oeuvre-a startlingly effective new band, a new thematic field (the locally-grown opus), produced with more sonic ambition than any recent Danielson effort, but without sacrificing the brave interior journey that we have come to expect from Daniel Christopher Smith: the world is complex, slightly dangerous, full of temptations, but there is still grace, beauty, meaning, and the music that is required to suggest all this is anything but easy, but that doesn't mean it is not rewarding, beautiful, funny, sad, and generous.

Released five years after 2006's well-received Ships, Daniel Smith's Best of Gloucester County finds the Danielson Famile in a bit of disarray. While sisters Megan and Rachel and Smith's wife Erin all make appearances, the bulk of the Famile has fled the nest, but adding four new members (Jens Lekman and longtime Danielson staple Sufjan Stevens appear as well) has done little to tarnish Smith's signature blend of art school indie pop and freak folk Sunday school gospel. While Best of Gloucester County (named for the New Jersey province that serves as the members' stomping grounds) may feel a bit more settled than previous outings, the complacencies of adulthood, as filtered through Smith's manic croon, are hardly destined for commercial airplay. Closer in tone to 2004's Brother Is to Son but with Ships' loftier (but still D.I.Y.) production, Gloucester County's opening cut, Complimentary Dismemberment Insurance, sets the tone with a straightforward blast of Neil Young-meets-Frank Black folk-rock, in which Smith delivers some his most evenhanded vocals in years. The Day Is a Loaf and Grow Up follow similar suit, but overly precious cuts like Lil Norge and People's Partay come away feeling more uncomfortable than whimsical. Still, a middle-of-the-road Danielson Famile/Danielson/Brother Danielson album is hardly a disappointment, as Smith has always been the sole proprietor of his niche, and with each new collection can rewrite the rules however he sees fit. If anything, Gloucester County proves that Smith is willing to let his unique style mature, which may at some point provide some insight into one of the underground's most elusive personalities. - James Christopher Monger
