Alive 1997Alive 1997 reveals the French duo Daft Punk as one of the brightest entertainers in the occasionally stale world of album-based electronic dance. True, techno and house DJs can light up a crowd like few others, but the increasing artist slant of electronica often results in push-button programming and straight-from-DAT live performances, with most of the heavy lifting relegated to the lighting supervisor and effects computers. This brief glimpse at Daft Punk's live show circa 1997 (their major breakout year) is a tour de force of high-energy theatrics and flair. Aside from the pair of WDPK interludes, Alive 1997 includes only three tracks, but they're so radically different from their album versions that they're only barely familiar. The duo's biggest hit so far, Da Funk, is stretched out to 16 minutes with a start-and-stop improvisation section that brings the crowd to a peak, while Rollin' & Scratchin' never looks back after breaking right on through the red-line. An energizing document, Alive 1997 is one of the few live records to approximate the excitement of the original live show.

Alive 2007Timed to perfection, Daft Punk's second live album landed exactly ten years after the first, and provides a fitting complement to Alive 1997, easily the best live non-DJ electronica record ever released. While the original featured only a handful of tracks (but found them transformed and tweaked ad infinitum), Alive 2007 is packed with productions, most of them short and many of them getting a big crowd response (all recorded at one show in Paris in June of 2007). As on their first two classic full-lengths, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo display excellent crowd control, pacing the record well, spacing the hits, and building the mood like the good crowd-pleasers they are. It has the feel of a greatest-hits-live concert, but energized by Daft Punk's talents at weaving songs in and out of each other. Even songs from the comparatively desultory Human After All sound rejuvenated in context, with Robot Rock getting the show off to a rousing start. It may not be better or stronger than the original Alive 1997, but it's definitely harder and faster.

DiscoveryOriginally released in 2001, Discovery is the second studio album by the French house duo Daft Punk consisting of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Highlights include the house anthems One More Time and Digital Love as well as the Kanye West sampled Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
This album has a lot to do with our childhood and the memories of the state we were in at that stage of our lives. It's about our personal relationship to that time. It's less of a tribute to the music from 1975 to 1985 as an era, and more about focusing on the time when we were zero to ten years old. When you're a child you don't judge or analyze music. You just like it because you like it. You're not concerned with whether it's cool or not. Sometimes you might relate to just one thing in a song, such as the guitar sound. This album takes a playful, fun, and colorful look at music. It's about the idea of looking at something with an open mind and not asking too many questions. It's about the true, simple, and honest relationship you have with music when you're open to your own feelings. - Thomas Bangalter1. One More Time

G I R LRedefining cool for a new generation, Pharrell Williams is a creative force, using music, fashion, and design to express his distinctive style. From his beginnings as a teenage prodigy and multi-instrumentalist in Virginia Beach back in the early '90s, through enough hits to earn him Billboard's Producer of the Decade in 2010, to his current status as multi-media superstar, Williams has never stopped creating. Starting his producing career as one half of The Neptunes with Chad Hugo, Williams has helped create such classics as Daft Punk's Get Lucky, Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines, Nelly's Hot in Herre, Jay-Z's I Just Wanna Love U (Give it 2 Me), Britney Spears's I'm A Slave 4 U, and Justin Timberlake's Like I Love You.
With over 100 million copies of his productions sold, his music sounds like something no one else has thought of just yet. He's also created a new way of looking at established stars like SnoopDogg, Madonna, and even the Rolling Stones. Over four albums, Williams and Hugo along with Shae Haley created an unpredictable hybrid as part of the alt-rock/hip-hop group N.E.R.D. His prolific body of work also ranges from designing a sculpture with Tokyo-born artist Takashi Murakami to accessories and jewelry for luxury goods brands Louis Vuittonand Moncler. Now, with his latest venture i am OTHER a multi-media creative collective that serves as an umbrella for all his endeavors, including Billionaire Boys Club & ICECREAM apparel, textile company Bionic Yarn and dedicated YouTube channel Williams' vision continues to push pop culture forward.
G I R L is Pharrell's highly anticipated new album, and features the hit single, Happy, an international phenomenon and radio smash. Happy was first featured on Despicable Me 2 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). It is nominated for an OSCAR this year for Best Original Song, and Pharrell will perform Happy on the OSCARs on March 2nd, on ABC.
Happy has sold more than 2.3 million tracks worldwide, and has topped the chart in more than 175 countries. Currently in the US, the song generates over 120 million weekly audience impressions across 6 radio formats - Top 40, Rhythm, Hot AC, Urban, Urban AC, and AAA. Panda Bear Meets The Grim ReaperDomino is pleased to announce the release of Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper, the
fifth studio album from Animal Collective founding member and critically acclaimed solo artist Noah
Noah Lennox, a.k.a. Panda Bear, has had a far-from-quiet few years with the release of his fourth solo
record, 2011's Tomboy. Since the breakout success of 2007's universally-adored Person Pitch, each new
Panda Bear release is a highly anticipated event, and a high-profile Daft Punk collaboration later ("Doin'
It Right," from 2013's Random Access Memories), that's more the case than ever.
Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper finds our hero leaving the airy minimalism of Tomboy and unpacking
his sonic toolbox again, rearranging the multitude of his disparate influences into the ever-morphing
concoction he refers to as "the soup." Old school hip-hop textures and production techniques meld with
the intuitive, cyclical melodies he has become known for a sound that is at once dense and playful.
The album signifies a pivotal point for an artist who has proven he can continue to evolve while
remaining at the top of his game. As Noah says, "It's sort of marking change - not necessarily an
absolute death, but the ending of something, and hopefully the beginning of something else."1. Sequential Circuits

Young PrayerNoah Lennox, a.k.a. Panda Bear, a.k.a. one-fourth of the founding members of Animal Collective, has had a far-from-quiet few years since the release of his fourth solo record, 2011's Tomboy. Since the breakout success of 2007's universally-adored Person Pitch, each new Panda Bear release is a highly anticipated event, and with a high-profile Daft Punk collaboration later, that's more the case than ever. But if the title of his fifth solo album as Panda Bear seems to portend certain doom, think again. Taking his inspiration from '70s dub duo albums like King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown and Augustus Pablo Meets Lee Perry & the Wailers Band, Panda Bear prefers to frame his latest work as less of a battle and more a collaboration. "I see it [as] more comicbooky, a little more lighthearted," he says. "Like Alien Vs. Predator." Young Prayer is the second full-length solo album by Panda Bear. It was recorded in Panda Bear's childhood home in 2002 by Deakin and further produced by the mysterious Animal Collective brothers known as Come Winter. "If you can get people dancing as early as noon. You're good. They did." - NPR 'All Songs Considered'
"Ghost Beach are the Venn diagram of their influences-Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads, The Police, and Daft Punk
-and then some, thanks to a shitload of synths, some nostalgic 80s sonics and even the occasional reggae groove.
The sound is unmistakably their own." - VICE's Noisey
Ghost Beach, the New York-based duo of Josh Ocean and Eric "Doc" Mendelsohn, bring together the two worlds of
electronic and live performance whose sound is self-described as "Tropical Grit Pop." "We like writing pop music. We
draw a lot from the 80's, including Peter Gabriel, The Police and Talking Heads," says Ocean. "Their music incorporated
synthesizers and drum machines, had tons of energy and it had a very eclectic sound. From a songwriting standpoint, that
is where we draw our inspiration and today we attempt to bridge the gap by using a similar sonic palette in combination
with modern recording technologies including Ableton." added Mendelsohn.
On their debut full-length album Blonde, Ghost Beach once again perfects a blend of retro and futuristic soaring synth-pop, none more so evident than in the searing single "Miracle." Blonde features a mix of newly recorded material and
a handful of tracks from the bands self-released Modern Tongues EP. All previously released songs will be remixed,
re-mastered and enhanced for the forthcoming release.
Ghost Beach is not purely electronic or purely a live band, but a realization of what lies in the middle. Josh plays the jilted
lover with vocal panache as Eric's soaring synths, guitars and forever young harmonies are plucked right out of Neverland.

MaydayHe's the techno punk, the unboxable nomad: Berlin DJ and producer BOYS NOIZE will release his 4th solo album MAYDAY via Boysnoize Records. The third track off the new album, "Starchild", features Channy Leaneagh of Poliça, and has been chosen as the world record by Zane Lowe on his BEATS 1 show.
Alex Ridha, better known as BOYS NOIZE, made his DJ debut at the age of 15, taking a teenager´s love of house and techno to a global scale. Accolades have been bestowed by Rolling Stone, who named him one of the "Top 10 DJ's Who Rule The World" and Beatport, who elected him "Best Electronic Act" 3 years in a row. He´s rocked the world's biggest stages, lit up Coachella three times, took Lollapalooza by storm, and headlined festivals and clubs on every continent - from Berlin techno temple Berghain to Fuji Rock in Japan to Justin Vernon's Eaux Claires Festival in the woods of Wisconsin.
As an artist and producer, Ridha has created a sound and a vision that's peerless, uncompromising, and enduring - respected in the scene, banging from underground to mainstream, it flies in the face of convention at every turn. He's remixed Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, David Lynch, Feist and Nine Inch Nails, collaborated with Snoop Dogg, Erol Alkan, and Jarvis Cocker, worked on Mark Ronson's "Uptown Special" and most recently on the soundtrack for upcoming Oliver Stone's Snowden, and released group projects with genius pianist Chilly Gonzales (Octave Minds), Skrillex (Dog Blood), and Mr. Oizo (Handbraekes). The list of names alone speak volumes about Ridha's multifaceted approach.
Now BOYS NOIZE is back with MAYDAY, his most dynamic album to date. Infectiously energetic, fusing the energy and spirit of punk with the raw power of modern techno and the early days of rave, MAYDAY exists as a new expression entirely, transporting the innocence of a bygone era into the here and now without ever sounding anachronistic or nostalgic. Collaborations with POLIÇA, HUDSON MOHAWKE, BENGA, REMY BANKS, SPANK ROCK, and some special secret guests (the liner notes are worth a read) broaden the range further than ever. "I always try to challenge myself as a producer and a musician," says Ridha. "Keeping the purity of electronic music but taking it somewhere new is the most difficult, and most motivating. MAYDAY is me taking the music I love to the future, no matter how uncertain the future seems."
MAYDAY speaks for a generation that no longer gives a damn about boundaries. Walls are for breaking down. MAYDAY's for tearing them to shreds.LP 1

BeingMozart's Sister - the solo project of Montreal's Caila Thompson-Hannant she started back in early 2011 - delights in making glittering, celebratory pop with an underlying strain of brittle, claustrophobic energy. By marrying the accessible with the decidedly off-kilter, she displays a similar vigor and charisma to female contemporaries Grimes and tUnE-yArDs, both of whom too learned their trade among the same fertile hometown scene as her.
Since attracting a ton of buzz for her entrancing live shows and for first EP Hello, Mozart's Sister (aka Caila Thompson-Hannant) has been head-down in her bedroom writing her debut album. For anyone who's been following her work - and for new listeners - Being is Mozart's Sister expressing macrocosmic ideas about life with panache and abundant hooks.
Inspired by Discovery-era Daft Punk, Post-era Bjork, and Betty Davis, Caila produced, recorded and wrote the album using a cheap sound card and Ableton software, approaching it with a do-it-all-by-my-self ideology.
Being is fundamentally a pop record. But if you're looking to catalog her music more than that, you're going to have a hard time; Caila describes Being as an intentionally fractured album. "It was far reaching. Things didn't always connect, but that was part of the whole idea," she says. Which is representative of the best music, and maybe the best of life: looking for order in chaos, not always finding it, and living with whatever happens next.1. Good Thing Bad Thing

MichaelMichael is the debut full length from Les Sins, the dance project
of Toro Y Moi's Chaz Bundick. Inspired by cartoon and movie
soundtracks, the largely instrumental album explores classic
dance and pop music traditions. Catchy, repetitive vocal hooks
gel with beats and synth work influenced by house, techno,
French electronic, and '90s hip-hop production. Bundick made
the album over two years and recorded everything in his home
The funky Why features vocals from Berkeley, Calif. singer-songwriter Nate Salman asking "Why you wanna go and do
that?" "Bother" holds down a head-bobbing, body-moving
groove until a stunning hallelujah moment straight out of a sci-fi
version of Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
While there are no concrete themes associated with the album,
Chaz says he can imagine all of these songs playing in the
middle of the brilliantly lighted and busy Ginza district in Tokyo.
Touchstones like Timbaland, Mr. Oizo, and Daft Punk, and
contemporaries such as Motor City Drum Ensemble offered
inspiration, but most influential on the making of the album was
the sage advice of a design icon. "My favorite graphic designer,
P. Rand always said, 'Don't try to be original, just try to be
good,'" Bundick says. "When making this record that was/is my
mantra-it was just constantly looping in my mind. I believe
'good' is timeless and once you can recognize that you'll see the
world in its fullest.1. Talk About

RipcordRIPCORD features a virtual who's who of creative collaborators for an album that Urban says was his most exhilarating album to make, both musically and creatively.
This album's journey began back in January, 2015 and took me to a lot of unexplored people and places. added Urban. The end result was the recording and exploring of more songs then I've ever done before and carving that down to what I felt constituted RIPCORD.
For the 13-track album, which has already produced his 19th and 20th No. 1 songs, Urban amassed an eclectic group of Grammy, CMA, ACM Award-winning writers and co-producers, who that have collectively worked with the likes of Adele, Jason Aldean, David Bowie, Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Brett Eldredge, Fun, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Madonna, Daft Punk, Pink and Taylor Swift.
They include new collaborations with Jeff Bhasker, busbee, Greg Wells and Nile Rodgers, as well as those who Urban has worked with before, including Shane McAnally, Ross Cooperman, Dann Huff and Nathan Chapman all of whom worked with Urban on his previous No. 1 album FUSE.
Getting to work with people like this was unlike anything I've envisioned before, said Urban. It's the result of writing, reaching, imagining, and following the muse every step of the way.1. Gone Tomorrow (Here Today)

Boo BooAfter 7 years of touring and recording, I found myself becoming self conscious about my position in life as a"famous" person, or at least my version of whatever that is. My dreams had become my reality, yet I was somehow unable to accept this new environment. I couldn't help but fall into what might be described as an identity crisis. A feedback loop of fearful thoughts left me feeling confused. I felt as though I no longer knew what it was that I actually wanted and needed in and out of life, and at times I felt unable to even tell what was real.
During this time of personal turmoil, I turned to music as a form of therapy, and it helped me cope with the pain that I was feeling. I'd listen to the same ambient song over and over again, trying to insulate myself from reality.I fell in love with space again.
By the time I felt ready to begin working on a new record,I knew that this idea of space within music would be something that propelled my new work forward. The artists that were influencing what I was making included everyone from Travis Scott to Daft Punk, Frank Ocean to Oneohtrix Point Never, Kashif and Gigi Masin. I recognized that the common thread between these artists was their attention to a feeling of space, or lack thereof.I decided that I wanted to make a Pop record with these ideas in mind. That idea for a record is what eventually became Boo Boo.LP 1

Celebrate 35 Years Of Nile Rodgers & Chic!

First Time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Release Of This Legendary # 1 Pop, R&B & Dance Album!
In the early seventies, Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards were playing in rock
and soul bands across New York City and the east coast, meeting up with Tony Thompson along the way and forming the rudiments of what would become one of the most
powerful and successful pop/r&b units ever known as Chic.
By 1977, they sailed into the top rungs of the charts with their smash debut single

Death PeakClark returns this spring with Death Peak. The album deftly weaves together the various threads of his extensive work, intertwining euphoric melodies and visceral rhythms of warehouse rave with newer vocal and choral elements.
Death Peak exposes the tension in Clark's musical vocabulary I love finding the fulcrum between opposites - I want my tracks to have sharp teeth, but you want to stroke them too. They sound ancient, but beamed in from the future, soft, corrosive. Album track 'Peak Magnetic' is a club-ready 4 am affair - vigorous, singular, hard to define. As Clark explains I wanted the kick to sound like some massive natural event, barely controlled, a boulder bouncing down a hill with birds tweeting around it. A complete mudball of a pulse that anchors everything to it through sheer mass. It makes me think of outdoor springtime raving. 'Catastrophe Anthem' features the voices of a children's choir eerily chanting the mantra, We are your ancestors. Clark has rarely used vocals before, but here every song has an element of human voice. Nearly all the tracks have some form of vocal recording on them. I only realized this late in the recording process. I get hypnotized by the human voice - the most perfect synth. Vocals can be a bit of an awkward hat, that producers wear to try and get attention. Death Peak voices are the opposite of that. The vocal elements are just another instrument in the mix. It's taken me awhile to get to this level of confidence with it.
Recently he released a split 12-inch with label mates Mark Pritchard & Bibio and worked remixes with the likes of Nils Frahm and Max Richter. Significantly, Clark has turned his hand to scoring. He released the foreboding cinematic soundtrack to the 2016 BAFTA nominated Sky Atlantic series 'The Last Panthers' and composed a score for Macbeth at the Young Vic theatre. Late in 2016 he composed 'Enter The Void' for especially The Echo Society orchestra, conducted by Joe Trapanese (M83 & Daft Punk collaborator) and performed at the historic Ace Theatre, LA. Clark signed to Warp in his late-teens. His studio sound has evolved and matured over two decades; although he would say he's only just starting. His amorphous industrial noise has ever-grown and influenced producers, dancefloors and festivals around the world.LP 1

VenturaIn 2010, Antoine Hilaire and Florent Lyonnet released the first Jamaica album. Produced by Peter Franco, an American engineer known for his work with Daft Punk and Xavier de Rosnay, one half of Justice, 'No Problem' is boosted by a terrific single: 'I Think I Like U 2. Jamaica is taking off. Followed an almost two year tour, more than 150 shows around the world, and success from Paris to Tokyo.
Jamaica felt ambitious when it was time to start working on their second album, without any weight or pressure : "On the contrary! We felt extremely light. We only realised that in a way we had to write our second first album."
They started writing 'Ventura' in Paris, knowing they would start recording in Los Angeles, fed by both fantasies of American culture, gathered from records or movies, and the reality they discovered while touring several months in the U.S. "We often played in the U.S. during our first tour, and America as we know it now is not only spectacular and Hollywood-centered. It's also filled with clubs and cranked up amps."
When they tell about the month they spent with Peter Franco in a rented house in Los Angeles to give life to their new songs, Antoine and Florent mention a discovery in a literal sense: "We thought about for a while naming this album 'Pinta, Nina, Santa Maria', like Christopher Columbus's ships." In the end, they named it 'Ventura'. For the musicians, the name reminds of its literal translation of "luck" and "fate", but also of the 72 Pontiac and of course, of Ventura Boulevard, one of the biggest roads in the San Fernando valley. It's also on Ventura Boulevard that Peter Franco set a house into a studio, where Jamaica locked itself for a month, surrounded by instruments borrowed from local musician friends, sometimes recording vocal takes while friends would walk across the living room to get fresh beverages from the fridge, heading to the pool.
The duo is greeted with prestigious guests. One day, Tunde Adebimpe, TV On The Radio singer, sings soulful and worried vocals on 'Golden Times', another day, Chris Caswell, longtime collaborator of Paul Williams's gives them a hand with a few keyboard arrangements. Their friend DVNO writes and sings the song 'Goodbye Friday' with them in a few simple and entertaining work sessions.
Jamaica comes back to Paris, where Antoine and Florent take back the numerous tracks recorded in the U.S., helped by their producer friend Samy Osta and his 2001 studio. They listen, select, arrange the many layers of music Peter Franco led them to gather, under the influence of his recent work on Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories'.
Jamaica then settles in the Paris studio Tranquille Le Chat, where the owner Laurent d'HerbÉcourt just finished the recording of Phoenix's 'Bankrupt!'. Antoine and Florent find the perfect place to finish their record: it is bathed in daylight thanks to three large windows, which is seldom found in a studio. "To us, 'No Problem' shows a clubby and nightly aspect of the band, while 'Ventura' is meant to be the daylight album for Jamaica."
The band came in to record a few tracks, but never left the place or Laurent d'HerbÉcourt. They kept pushing in the direction they fancied in Los Angeles, helped by the huge Neve mixing desk that stands in the middle of the studio. The intent was to create a new depth to the band's sound, mixing electronic habits and an almost magical approach to analogue gear: "Depending on the moment of the day, the sound of analogue gear changes, machines heat up, like living things. It was very exciting for us, Jamaica being usually digitally driven."
Antoine and Florent's belief in a more organic sound was strengthened by Laurent d'HerbÉcourt: "While mixing, he definitely pushed us further towards a "radio" oriented direction, in the most noble and Fleetwood Mac sense of the word. A sunny pop that hides more sensibility when one really pays attention."
Songs like 'Two on Two', 'Golden Times', 'All Inclusive' or 'Ferris Wheeler' are fueled by this feel good music to listen to while driving along the Pacific Ocean. Other tracks reveal new leads for Jamaica, from 'Turbo' and 'Same Smile's' post surf music to 'Rushmore's' power balladry.

Ultima II MassageTOBACCO can't have nice things.
On his third album, the Pennsylvania snake-synth-charmer deepens his approach
to aural depravity. Ultima II Massage widens a jagged swath through the dude's
own weird catalog, each disparate track damaged to the point of contributing to
some sort of greater, lurching Frankenstein-like state. "I spent a lot of time
breaking it in all the right places," says TOBACCO. "It ends up making the whole
thing breathe - sometimes gasp for air. It feels more alive." Immediately after
nishing 2010's Maniac Meat, he went to work on the beat-addled series begun
with Fucked Up Friends in 2008. There were notable breaks en route to now - a
surprising commission to remix White Zombie's "Thunder Kiss '65," a new BMSR
record (Cobra Juicy), and producing Demon Queen's Exorcise Tape with vocalist
Zackey Force Funk - but he saved the worst for last, amassing the most
misanthropic material for Ultima. To wit, SPIN dubbed early share "Lipstick
Destroyer" a "junkyard takedown of Daft Punk's beloved, pristine electro."
TOBACCO explains his modied approach: "I wanted to push each song just
enough, so that even when the album's at its wildest, it's something you can zone
out to. It feels like a denitive end to a concept I've been trying to perfect forever.
Maniac Meat was linear. This time I wanted to do a lot of di!erent things and have
them come together as one meditative piece. At least for myself."
Which, oddly enough, makes sense. This is easily TOBACCO's most diverse set to
date - his own Stereopathetic Soulmanure, but about that 1-900 hotline life:
massage parlors, plasticized sleaze, fake tans, old dial-ups to the fan clubs of
dead B-actors. Fittingly, the album's only contributor is Beck music director Brian
LeBarton who shrieks as Notrabel on the grimy freak-out "Streaker." At 17 tracks,
Ultima is stacked with beautifully perverse hits - from the sickly sticky "Eruption,"
to the wobbly demon swaggerer "Face Breakout," to the distorted punk spazz of
"Dipsmack," to the apocalyptic sepia ambience of "Spitlord." You may hear
disembodied bits of Boards of Canada, early Def Jam records, and Gary Numan,
or maybe just public-access TV and bad VHS dubs of '80s horror icks. Or the sun
exploding and everything you've ever loved melting. Again, TOBACCO was just
trying to make meditation music.
But to nd that rotted sweet spot, as always, he had to subvert his pop urges.
TOBACCO went back to the cassette decks he started o! with - analog weapons
of distortion to compliment his hissing vocoder and blown rhythms. Any moment
that felt "just right" was brutally assaulted until ugly again. All to accomplish one
end: "This might be my most purposely difcult album yet, but I promise if you let
it in, it can fuck you up."
