    Straight Or Lame

Mastered From The Original Mono Reels

    Features Complete Original Cover Art

    Pressed On High-Quality 180-Gram Vinyl

    Limited Run Of 1000 Copies

The female quartet known as the Daisy Chain came roaring out of Southern California's Orange County just in time for the Summer of Love. And the fab foursome of Shel Le, Camille, Rosemary and Dee Dee Lea disappeared from the scene almost as abruptly as they arrived, but not before leaving behind a stunning artifact of dayglo hippy trippiness and weirdness!!!

Straight or Lame was little noticed by the public in its original 1967 release on the small United International label. Due to the original album's rarity, original copies have been known to change hands for huge prices. Now it's available once again, in a limited run of 1000 copies. Mastered from the original mono reels, this Sundazed edition features complete original cover art and is pressed on high-quality 180-gram vinyl.

I've been shocked at how much the studio cube has been inspirational as a monitoring device. [...] I monitor at lower levels and more relaxing levels than I ever have before..
    - Paul Pilot, Producer

Our StudioCube is the ideal partner for the personal monitoring: it enables a nuanced, transparent and fatigueless listening in the studio and on stage. At the same time this compact headphone amplifier fascinates the most demanding musicians and master sound engineers with its outstanding sound qualities.

Being a musician or a sound nerd, it's your natural ambition to always deliver optimum results on stage and in the studio. For a pro-level headphone amplifier this ambition poses a special challenge. Our StudioCube copes with any task brilliantly and is your true and flexible companion in every situation. An all-out professional whose uncompromisingly truthful sound you can always depend on.

    Essential jack-of-all-trades

The StudioCube distinguishes itself by high-class technology and practical features. Its first-grade components, coupled with balanced input stages, give it outstanding sound qualities and a punchy, clean bass reproduction. Like all our devices the StudioCube, too, is a role model for exceptional transparency and extremely low noise.

Its excellent transient behaviour ensures that studio musicians can work at a lower listening volume level. This does not only protect their hearing and allow a longer concentration phase. That way crosstalk from the headphone into the nearby microphones is audibly reduced as well. All people involved can rejoice over a more inspiring, more musical result.

    Practical features

Apart from its excellent sound properties the StudioCube offers a number of practical features: it consorts well with virtually every headphone. The front panel has a practical input level indicator and a conveniently located toggle switch to assign a mono signal to both the left and right output channel simultaneously. The Loop output can be used to feed several devices through a daisy chain. Thanks to its special design bracket it mounts very conveniently on a microphone stand or under the table.

    Marantz MM7025 Amplifier

Have a question about this product? Please email our audio advisor or call 1-877-929-8729 with any questions or concerns regarding your equipment purchase.

    First Impressions

If you're impressed by elegantly restrained industrial design, the MM7025 is guaranteed to make a lasting - and very positive - impression. The subtly curved aluminum/glass resin front panel adds a sophisticated touch that complements any dÉcor. The central porthole display reflects iconic Marantz designs of the past while it brings you an "at a glace" view of the amplifier's operating status.

    Getting Connected

Both single-ended RCA and balanced XLR inputs assure system compatibility regardless of your preamplifier or processor. For maximum flexibility, you can choose inputs independently for each channel.

The MM7025's heavy duty, gold-plated, four-way binding posts accept virtually any choice of loudspeaker cable

    Your System, Your Way

The MM7025 encourages various system configurations. Use one for dedicated two-channel listening, or use two to as zone amplifiers to power speakers in different rooms. Adding a new pair of loudspeakers to an existing home theater? - Get the most from your investment by adding an MM7025 as well. The exact configuration is up to you. Sound quality isn't - it's Marantz regardless of how you use this power amplifier.

    Marantz Sound Quality

The MM7025's advanced technology serves all your listening needs. Current feedback circuits, also used in Marantz's Reference Series amps, insure the purest sonic reproduction regardless of source. Another MM7025 virtue, and one directly traceable to its substantial current capability, is the control it establishes over difficult speakers to reproduce both dynamic musical peaks and whispered dialog without blemish.

    The Power Supply

As befits a Marantz amplifier, the high-capacity power supply begins with an oversized EI-core transformer feeding carefully chosen capacitors capable of storing 30,000 µF of energy. This combination instantaneously delivers peak power to all amplifier stages for distortion-free reproduction of the most complex sources.

    Output Devices

In the final amplification stage, specially selected LAPT Hyper-Power output transistors, originally selected for Reference Series use, deliver fortissimo and pianissimo passages with equal aplomb. To make sure they're always operating at ideal temperatures, these transistors are mounted on a forced-air "thermal tunnel."

    Where Do I Put It?

The MM7025 is less than 14" deep from front panel to rear speaker terminals. This lets you place the amplifier almost anywhere - in a cabinet or on a shelf. A detachable AC cord makes placement easy, even when there's little room and you can even rack mount it with the optional rack mount kit RMK8754MSP.

    Remote Control, Too

You'll find rear panel connections for a "flasher" input that conveys On/Off commands from an infrared (IR) remote controller. There's a DC trigger input (and output) that lets you "daisy chain" one or several MM7025s to turn on and off in synchronization with your preamplifer or surround processor. If you're going to use the MM7025 with legacy Marantz products, there are RC-5 connectors to give you a level of operating convenience you might not have thought possible.

    Conclusion

Refined looks. Flexible connectivity. Superb sound quality. Convenient operation. Yes, these Marantz attributes come together in the MM7025 Stereo Power Amplifier.

It is, as are all Marantz products, devoted to one goal - satisfying your desire for an exceptional listening experience.

    Modern Guilt (Discontinued)

    Import

Modern Guilt is the eighth official studio album and eleventh overall by American alternative artist Beck. The album lasts 33 minutes, making it the shortest album by Beck to date. Modern Guilt features two contributions by Cat Power and was produced by Beck and Danger Mouse.

Modern Guilt indulges Beck's love of Sixties psychedelic music, and the results are vividly rendered - all acid-trip guitars, mod dance-party beats, daisy-chain harmonies and thundering percussion. But beneath the DayGlo arrangements lie some deeply bummed-out songs about living in a time of war (Walls), environmental degradation (Gamma Ray) and widening generation gaps (Youthless). Danger Mouse brings a hip-hop DJ's love of funky old rock records; Beck brings the end-of-the-Sixties, pre-apocalyptic hangover.

Taken as a whole, the album's first five songs stand among Beck's strongest work. The most dazzling example is Chemtrails, which nods through a heroin haze of droning guitars while Beck imagines jets flying above a sea full of dead people. The song title comes from a conspiracy theory that holds that some jet trails are actually chemical sprays engineered by the government for secret purposes. But you don't have to know the reference to feel the dread. Staring at the corpses, Beck sings, So many people, where do they go? The morbid answer is implied: No matter where all the lonely people come from, they all end up in the same place.

That last song sums up Beck's biggest issue on the album: Don't know what I've done, but I feel ashamed. That's modern guilt for you: knowing the world's going to hell and feeling partly responsible, but not quite knowing what to do about it. Some days, we're worse than you can imagine/And how am I supposed to live with that? he sings on Walls. A few lines later, he finds his own reason to carry on: We do the best with the souls we're given. And not long after he sings these words, the song cuts out abruptly in the middle of the melody. Like Tony Soprano said, you never know when your time is gonna come.
