REDD-BLU-5131xWynton Marsalis Septet
United We SwingCelebrating the red, white, and Blues! Recorded between 2003 and 2007, United We Swing finds an unparalleled array of music talent that collectively boasts 94 Grammy Awards joining Jazz at Lincoln Center Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis (a nine-time Grammy Award winner himself) and some of the world's top jazz musicians to perform blues-inflected versions of iconic American repertoire.
Those one-night-only, live performances have never been released before. They include Lenny Kravitz performing Marsalis's hypnotizing, New Orleans-inflected arrangement of Kravitz's own song, "Are You Gonna Go My Way"; Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks uniting for a stirring, infectious take on Civil Rights anthem "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free"; Bob Dylan adding harmonica licks to a deeply felt, in-the-pocket rendition of "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry"; and Ray Charles taking the stage for one of his final performances to play "I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town."Together these artists raise their voices to highlight jazz's importance to America's cultural heritage and to remind us that, even in divided times, music can unite us all. All proceeds from the album will go toward Jazz at Lincoln Center's education programs, which introduce thousands of children to jazz each year.

Guest Appearances By Solomon Burke, RubÉn Blades A.O.
American guitarist and songwriter Derek Trucks had played with such artists as Bob Dylan, Joe Walsh and Stephen Stills by his twentieth birthday. After performing with The Allman Brothers Band for several years as a guest musician, Trucks became a formal member of the band in 1999 and appeared on 4 of their albums.
Trucks officially formed The Derek Trucks Band in 1996. The album Joyful Noise features guests including his wife Susan Tedeschi (with who he formed The Tedeschi Trucks Band in 2010), Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and soul artist Solomon Burke. Derek is best known for his slide guitar style and plays an eclectic blend of blues, soul, jazz, rock and world music. Let Me Get ByLet Me Get By features ten new, original songs that together stand as a testament to the hard work, independent spirit, and full-on commitment of the entire Tedeschi Trucks Band. The album's artwork-a Mongolian golden eagle caught a moment after flying from its handler's glove-and even the album title itself reflect the sense of total dedication that serves as the driving force behind TTB.
Some songs you may have heard on stage in 2015, and some others that were deliberately held back for this occasion. Susan's vocals and Derek's guitar soar, tumble and glide through each song, as powerful as ever, even in the album's most understated moments. --tedeschitrucksband1. Anyhow

The Derek Trucks Band have been issuing records (live and studio) that are long on fire, improvisation, and inspiration. Trucks' own skillful leadership has seamlessly melded Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Eastern Indian modal music in a brew that is uniquely his own.
Already Free (2009), the ninth studio album by The Derek Trucks Band, is an exception to the rule. Trucks himself stated that the album has a different feeling compared to their other works because in the past, he always felt pressure to make a guitar album. The difference, he maintains, is that the band has had more time to mature, and the album's sound is more balanced between the different contributions of its members, who developed its overall effect as they arranged the songs that were recorded for this album.
The album has received very positive reviews, and debuted at #19 on the Billboard Top 200 reached #1 on the Blues chart, #1 on the Internet chart, and #4 on the Rock chart. This marks the band's highest debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart to date. The album won the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album, marking the band's first Grammy award.
The first single Down in the Flood features guest musicians include Doyle Bramhall II, Susan Tedeschi and Eric Krasno (of Soulive). The song Back Where I Started was co-written by Trucks with fellow Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes.LP1

Skin DeepBuddy Guy's new album, Skin Deep is his 10th Silvertone/Zomba studio release and it features all original material as well as collaborations with fellow guitar luminaries Eric Clapton, Robert Randolph, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks.
Elaborating on his inspiration for the album title and song Skin Deep, Guy touches upon a powerful series of personal memories and observations on the ways in which were all the same underneath it all. I used to play with this boy, ride horses, down close to where I was born, he says. Then when we were 13, his parents made us stop. They used to say you had black blood or white blood, but wed get a flashlight and hold it up to our skin and wed just see red blood. Thats what I mean by 'Skin Deep.'
In a career spanning more than 45 years, Buddy Guy continues to add to his ever-growing legacy. At the age of 72, he graced the cover of Rolling Stone, as part of the magazines recent '100 Greatest Guitar Songs' issue (his cataclysmic 1961 recording of Stone Crazy made the list) and he also turned in a show-stopping performance in Martin Scorseses Rolling Stones concert film, Shine A Light. Guy has won five Grammy Awards, 23 W.C. Handy 'wards (the most any one blues artist has received), a Congressional Medal of Arts and Billboard Magazine's prestigious The Century Award for 'distinguished artistic achievement. In 2005 Buddy Guy was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by friends Eric Clapton and B.B. King.1. Best Damn Fool (Featuring Memphis Horns & Willie Mitchell)

Live In San Diego (with Special Guest JJ Cale)Eric Clapton's Live in San Diego With Special Guest JJ Cale is a live album from the 2007 tour featuring JJ Cale, Doyle Bramhall II, Robert Cray, Derek Trucks and more. Almost 2 hours of music including previously unreleased versions of Layla, Tell The Truth, Cocaine and Crossroads.
Recorded at Clapton's March 15, 2007 performance at the iPayOne Center in San Diego, CA, this concert was part of a world tour that was much loved by Clapton fans and featured a stellar band that included guitarists Derek Trucks (now of the Tedeschi Trucks band) and Doyle Bramhall II. The two-hour San Diego concert was a highlight of the tour as it featured JJ Cale as a special guest on five tracks (including "After Midnight" and "Cocaine"), as well as Robert Cray on the final song of the record, "Crossroads."
After successfully covering several JJ Cale songs over his career, Clapton finally collaborated with Cale in 2006 on the original album Road to Escondido. At the time, Clapton said "This is the realization of what may have been my last ambition, to work with the man whose music has inspired me for as long as I can remember." So it is fitting that one year later, Cale joined Clapton on stage for this special concert where they performed five songs together - underlining the mutual respect the two musicians had for each other.
The concert features a superb set list from across Eric's career. Notably, it includes songs from Eric's classic Derek and the Dominos album Layla, with Derek Trucks playing many of Duane Allman's original guitar parts.
Clapton's career, spanning more than 50 years, has resulted in 18 Grammy Awards and the distinct honor of being the only triple inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

So, It's Like ThatImport
Joe Bonamassa is a young guitar virtuoso, in line with the likes of Derek Trucks and John Mayer (like Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepherd before them) to be the Next Blues-Rock Guitar Hero. So, It's Like That, his sophomore solo effort, includes production by Clif Magness, and his band includes drummer Kenny Kramme and bassist Eric Czar. Bonamassa shines when he is allowed to stretch out and explore, on songs such as the sonically varied Pain and Sorrow. There, on a long improvisation, he works through myriad modes of playing, textures, and musical ideas.

Knives & TeethTom Hamilton is best known as one of the founding members of the highly successful electro-rock band, Brothers Past, an endeavor that infused the song structures of The Grateful Dead into the experimental music of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher (a sort of "Pink Floyd with laptops," as Hamilton calls it). When the strictures of band life became creatively stifling, Hamilton decided in 2007 to form American Babies. A loosely-organized operation wherein Hamilton is the sole constant member, American Babies have released three sets over the course of six years: their self-titled debut, which won them numerous festival appearances as well supporting gigs with Sheryl Crow, Derek Trucks and The National; a 2010 EP called Weight of the World; and, in 2011, their second long player, Flawed Logic.
Knives & Teeth is the powerful new American Babies album fromThe Royal Potato Family. The 10 songs range from uplifting to heartbreaking as Hamilton considers the secrets of childhood, the impending doubts of adulthood and the weight of strained friendships, all set to a soundtrack with the brashness of The Replacements, the sonic intensity of David Bowie and the acoustic majesty of Led Zeppelin.
When asked to describe his new record, Knives & Teeth, Hamilton's answer is short and compact but, like his lyrics, is loaded with deeper meaning: "It's a 40-minute existential breakdown."1. When I Build My Fortune

The Road To Escondido
The 2-LP Set Is Pressed At R.T.I. On 180-gram High-Performance Vinyl
After years of admiring each other's
musical masterworks, guitar great J.J.
Cale and three-time Rock and Roll Hall
of Famer, 16-time Grammy®winner Eric
Claptonhave teamed up for the first
time to create an original album together, The Road To Escondido. The resulting hybrid sound defies being labeled,
but instead finds influence across the
spectrum of blues, rock, country and
folk. The songs are warm and rich, with
deep flowing rhythms, yet use an economy of words to express much.
In a true collaboration,
Cale (whose songs "After Midnight" and "Cocaine"
Clapton had previously covered) and Clapton jointly
produced and recorded the album, each playing and
singing on the tracks. Cale wrote 11 of the songs,
Clapton wrote "Three Little Girls," John Mayer
wrote "Hard To Thrill" and the duo cover the blues
classic "Sporting Life Blues." Among the numerous
guest artists are Mayer, Taj Mahal, Derek Trucks,
Doyle Bramhall II, Albert Lee, and the late Billy

throughout the album.LP 1

The River & The ThreadI went back to where I was born, and these songs started arriving in me, says Rosanne Cash. All these things happened that made me feel a deeper connection to the South than I ever had. We started finding these great stories, and the melodies that went with those experiences.
With The River and the Thread, Cash has added the next chapter to a remarkable period of creativity. Her last two albums, Black Cadillac (2006) and The List (2009), were both nominated for Grammy Awards; The List-an exploration of essential songs as selected and given to Rosanne by her father, Johnny Cash-was also named Album of the Year by the Americana Music Association. In addition, her best-selling 2010 memoir, Composed, was described by the Chicago Tribune as one of the best accounts of an American life you will likely ever read.
Cash, who has charted 21 Top 40 country singles, including 11 Number Ones, wrote all of the new album's songs with her longtime collaborator (and husband) John Leventhal, who also served as producer, arranger, and guitarist. Featuring a long list of guests-from young guns like John Paul White (The Civil Wars) and Derek Trucks to such legends as John Prine and Tony Joe White-The River and the Thread is a kaleidoscopic examination of the geographic, emotional, and historic landscape of the American South. The album's unique sound, which draws from country, blues, gospel, and rock, reflects the soulful mix of music that traces its history to the region.
Rosanne Cash acknowledges that, even with fifteen albums and four books behind her, it was difficult to start writing songs again after spending several years immersed in the masterful compositions featured on The List. You cannot keep that in your mind, except as an inspiration, a standard to aspire to, she says. To say, 'I'm going to write a song as great as Take These Chains'-you're not! So the only way to not get dismantled by that is to stay connected to your own muse, and immerse yourself completely in what you're doing so it can be as rich and authentic as it can possibly be. That's all you can hope for.
With The River and the Thread, she has risen to that challenge-and emerged with a beautiful and haunting album, one of the finest works in an extraordinary career.1. A Feather's Not A Bird

Clapton (Out Of Stock)Co-produced by guitarist and long-time collaborator Doyle Bramhall II, Clapton features an all star cast of musical collaborations started with the legendary JJ Cale, drummer Jim Keltner, bassist Willie Weeks, and keyboardist Walt Richmond-and the sessions later added guests including Steve Winwood, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Allen Toussaint, and Derek Trucks. Clapton created a collection that touches on everything from century-old traditional brass bands to little-known country blues to brand-new originals. The result is both relaxed and revelatory, and unlike anything the guitarist has done in his legendary career.
This album wasn't what it was intended to be at all, it's actually better than it was meant to be because, in a way, I just let it happen. It's an eclectic collection of songs that weren't really on the map and I like it so much because if it's a surprise to the fans, that's only because it's a surprise to me, as well. - Eric Clapton01 Travelin' Alone
