    Try It

The Standells' key albums for the Tower label (Dirty Water, Why Pick On Me, and Try It) perfectly bottled a rebellious wave of sound sweeping across Mid-1960's teen clubs, radio playlists and record racks. Starting with the genre-defining, proto-punk smash "Dirty Water", through a series of equally memorable underdog anthems ("Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White," "Why Pick on Me") and obscenities (the banned "Try It"), the Standells left an indelible mark on their era. Those three Tower albums are a veritable feast of three chord, fuzz-drenched, Vox Organ-driven "squares"-repellant.

Built around the banned title track, Try It is a tale of two (LP) sides; one a cohesive step into super-charged '67 Standells Soul, the other a bet-hedging exercise that compiles possibly the strongest material of the band's career. Latter includes the classic Standells style, either at its most pulverizing ("Barracuda," "Riot on Sunset Strip") or now one foot into psychedelia ("All Fall Down," "Did You Ever Have That Feeling"). It provides the perfect bookend to the Standells' legendary Tower Records era albums.

    Dirty Water

Starting with the genre-defining, proto-punk smash "Dirty Water", through a series of equally memorable underdog anthems ("Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White," "Why Pick on Me") and obscenities (the banned "Try It"), the Standells left an indelible mark on their era. Those three Tower albums are a veritable feast of three chord, fuzz-drenched, Vox Organ-driven "squares"-repellant.

The Standells' Dirty Water album, their first for Tower Records, was primarily recorded away from their Hollywood home base. Producer Ed Cobb picked a Seattle studio and engineer Kearney Barton (the Sonics), unwittingly unleashing the savage Pacific Northwest Sound on the rest of the country. As Standells founding member Larry Tamblyn tells it, "It really was the Standells raw." The results include crushing classics like "Little Sally Tease," "Medication," and "Why Did You Hurt Me."

Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version

It's safe to say that hip-hop has never seen an album like Ol' Dirty Bastard's 1995 solo debut Return to the 36 Chambers. The brief glimpses of ODB's unhinged genius provided by Wu-Tang Clan's landmark Enter the Wu-Tang album two years earlier were begging to be expanded on to a larger canvas, and, with RZA guiding production, the album promised to give Dirty the creative license to make one of the most bizarre, entertaining and original LPs in hip-hop history. With his raspy, drunken flow and dark sense of humor, Dirty fearlessly attacks from all angles, throwing himself fearlessly into punchy rhyme attacks (Damage, with GZA), drugged-out party jams (the monster singles Brooklyn Zoo and Shimmy Shimmy Ya) and bizarre, grimly hilarious fantasies of sex and violence (Don't U Know and the R&B-tinged Sweet Sugar Pie). Backed by RZA's appropriately gritty, dissonant beats and appearances from the Clan, Return became an instant hit, selling over 1 million copies and earning a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album in 1996. The album stands as a high water mark in the Wu-Tang Clan's collective creative output and was selected as one of the Best 100 Rap Albums by The Source magazine in 1998. In honoring the legacy of one of hip-hop's most innovative releases, Get On Down is proud to present this incredible and unique special edition of Ol' Dirty Bastard's Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version on double LP.

Theres a huge number of great bands in Japan right now and one of the best is right here, right now on Dirty Water Records. With a sound thats tough, breakneck yet soulful, theres also real proper tunes coming from this trio. Yeah, this is freaked-out 100mph fuzz-bucket guitar garage rocknroll, and all executed with more than the usual amount of frenziedly primitive zeal, but its all delivered by people who actually know what theyre doing, who know how to play their instruments. This is no thrashing around garage-punk-by-numbers.

    Give It Time

Three years have passed since the Revellions released their last single and it's been five years since their eponymous debut album on Dirty Water Records. This will be the one album this year for which anticipation is high. This is the one the fans have been waiting for. The album contains contributions from members old and new and spans a riotous five years, much of which was spent touring around Europe with recording sessions in Dublin fitted in when they were able to drag themselves out of the pub. Despite the time lapse and line up changes, this is no difficult second album. It's a coherent collection of tracks that truly represents the band at this time. This is a band becoming tighter than ever with new songs to not just rival but surpass those on the debut.

    Why Pick On Me

For their second Tower album, Why Pick On Me, the Standells received a significant sonic boost with the move to American Recording Company. Legendary engineer Richie Podolor cut the best sounding records of the era; from the Standells, Chocolate Watchband, and Electric Prunes to Steppenwolf and Three Dog Night. The drum tracks on this album are simply not to be believed, the bass drum sound possibly registering on the Richter scale. Here the Standells build on their strengths with tough originals from producer Ed Cobb, equally-hard driving outside material ("Black Hearted Woman," "Mainline"), and notably, the emergence of Larry Tamblyn as a songwriter (his "Mr. Nobody" arguably the album's highlight).

In a world of trendy popsters, the King of Rock Royalty emerges solo with a new masterpiece. Scoop 3 is a continuation of Townshend's infamous Scoop projects, proving that carefully orchestrated lullabys, such as I Think I Like It the Way It Is, can co-exist with the cutting, raw power of bedroom style recording in Dirty Water. Townshend miraculously brings to life a notebook of his art in a fashion that may seem a bit unorthodox to some, but fully realized to devoted music lovers of all ages.

This three LP set offers many moods to travel through, only to realize that Townshend is still a sure bet when it comes to pleasure, beauty, and intensity.

    Live On Tour 1966

The Standells' amazing string of punkish, tough-guy anthems, like "Dirty Water" and "Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White", define the legacy of mid-sixties garage rock like nothing else. With the success of these records came '66 tours with the Rolling Stones and Beach Boys. From all reports, the Standells proved a superb live act. But for decades, their on-stage reputation rested on an earlier, Pre-Tower label live album documenting the Standells in an unrecognizably clean-cut night club incarnation.

But there's a happy ending to this story. It turns out the Standells were in fact recorded at their peak, LIVE ON TOUR-1966! At last, here's the whole knock-out live act from the year the Standells stormed the charts. All the '66 hits are here including "Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White", "Why Pick On Me?" and of course, "Dirty Water" (in tremendous versions, all of them). Fan faves are also on board, like the fuzzed-out "Mr. Nobody" and stomping "Why Did You Hurt Me". Highlights also include high energy covers of "Midnight Hour" and "Please, Please, Please", to name just a few of these crowd-pleasers, showcasing the Standells' R&B roots updated with '66 sheen. Hearing the Standells' road-tested, extended take on "Gloria" is not to be missed, either!

Rescued from a professionally recorded concert at the University of Michigan, the Standells are captured in astonishingly clean sound that rivals their legendary studio recordings. This may just be the finest recorded example of vintage live '66 American garage rock. It's all here, the Standells in brilliant sound and in a superb package including rare photos and liner notes.

    Anomoly (Awaiting Repress)

Breaking through to the strictly secular world like few other Christian hip-hop artists before, rapper Lecrae is the genre's Bob Marley, Wayne Gretzky, Tiger Woods, or any other example of a game-raising, populist-reaching name. Still, in 2014, he's a relative deep cut when compared to Jay-Z, Weezy, or 2 Chainz, and Anomaly is the album where he explains he's fine with it, or maybe, more than fine as the opening Outsiders sets the LP's tone. Elegant strings introduce the track, as if the man had Nick Minaj-sized funding, and yet the lyrics elegantly state that success must come on Lecrae's terms, as do the lyrics of the title track and All I Need Is You. Anomaly often leaves this theme, with tracks like Dirty Water asking the listener to challenge their own values, but the closing Messengers calls out for volunteers to join the rapper's cause, and suddenly -- spoiler alert -- the mix of go it alone and those that walk with God are never alone comes clear, as all the evidence had been laid out previously. Crafty and smart man, Lecrae, and with Anomaly following a series of albums equally crafted and smart, he now enters the hallowed halls of the consistent with all his charisma intact.

    Thee Gravemen

Raw, wild, horrific, and tons of fun is the best way to describe this two man horror-trash band from southern Sweden. These two English guys arent interested in pop fame or hit records. They live in a world of gravestones, monsters, werewolves and haunted houses. Sitting alone in the dark watching vintage Hammer Horror films and waiting for gravedigging jobs is how they spend their days.

Sir Lee Tea plays the guitar and wails, while Devilish Daz Trash pounds the stripped down drum set. Lee has his musical roots in the UK garage-rock scene, having played with the likes of crazy garage killers Thee Exciters and is also currently a member of top Swedish rhythmnblues outfit, The Branded. Daz, meanwhile, came from the trash punk rock n roll side of things having played since the 80s with psycho screamers Skitzo.

Like voodoo witchdoctors hunting for prey to turn into zombies, Thee Gravemen stalk the stage, spinning lurid tales of the human predilection for sin and mans capacity for inflicting suffering on his fellow man, all done with fearsome fuzz-busting guitars and crushing, boneshaking drumming to a sleazy Fall-like rockabilly beat.

    Big Smoke London Town

The Dustaphonics occupy the space where the talented few, committed and bright, stick to their guns'. Some groups are capable of doing things more intensely than others. The Dustaphonics is a group that knows how to grab your attention and get people dancing. The music is a fantastic mash-up that details their musical influences, from booze-soaked 1950s rhythm and blues, vintage stomping 'buttshaker' soul, '60s garage rock and british beat / r&b, Vegas lounge, sleazy grind instrumentals and surf guitar. And the whole deal is sealed and delivered with the spirit of '70s punk. Although the influences are vintage, there is something remarkably and distinctively fresh and progressive about their songs that takes the music beyond simple imitation and infuses it with tremendous energy and passion.

THE YOUTH want to be suited and booted and spit out contagious rock'n'roll. They want to play songs that anyone can under-stand, a beat that everyone can fall in love with and a groove that everyone can feel. The Youth want to bring sixties sounds back into teenage bedrooms - where it belongs. The Youth formed a couple of years ago in Copenhagen when four friends decided to combine their shared passion for blues, garage-rock, rhythm'n'blues and beat music. They have already made a name for them-selves in their native Denmark, attracting a Beatles-style mob of screaming girls whenever they appear live. This raw rhythm''n''beat garage-rock''n''roll combo, headed up by the ubiquitous veteran rocker, Sir Bald Diddley (aka Hipbone Slim), delivers super rough, tough and wild mid-'60's inspired sounds that are just about as frantic as a pack of dogs in a lamp post factory. It's British beat at its best, loaded with grab-your-throat guitar riffs, snarling vocals, wailing harp and much maraca shaking -- proper raw-as-you-like freakbeat, inspired by the likes of the Pretty Things, Kinks, Downliners Sect, Them, Birds, Stones, Yardbirds, Jimmy Reed, Sonics ...

Screaming guitars, brutal, primal drumming and a twisted, wailing saxophone cutting through it all.. The whole thing is done with a sense of humour and is a joy to behold. Atomic Suplex have toured Europe and Asia sharing the stage with such luminaries as The Hives, Guitar Wolf, Fat White Family, Buzzcocks, and many more.. Every song is a one to two minute burst of distorted guitars, insane vocals, the occasional bit of sax. And, you know what? It's brilliant. If you want some raw, visceral rock'n'roll thrills this band comes highly recommended.

this long-playing record, a thing we made in the midst of communal mess, raising dogs and children. eyes up and filled with dreadful joy - we aimed for wrong notes that explode, a quiet muttering amplified heavenward. we recorded it all in a burning motorboat.

    1. UNDOING A LUCIFERIAN TOWERS - look at that fucking skyline! big lazy money writ in dull marble obelisks! imagine all those buildings much later on, hollowed out and stripped bare of wires and glass, listen - the wind is whistling through all 3,000 of its burning window-holes!

    2. BOSSES HANG - labor, alienated from the wealth it creates, so that holy cow, most of us live precariously! kicking at it, but barely hanging on! also - the proud illuminations of our shortened lives! also - more of us than them!

    3. FAM / FAMINE - how they kill us = absentee landlord, burning high-rise. the loud panics of child-policemen and their exploding trigger-hands. neglect, cancer maps, drone strike, famine.

    4. ANTHEM FOR NO STATE - kanada, emptied of its minerals and dirty oil. emptied of its trees and water. a crippled thing, drowning in a puddle, covered in ants. the ocean doesn't give a shit because it knows it's dying too.

    finally and in conclusion;

the "luciferian towers" L.P. was informed by the following grand demands:

+ an end to foreign invasions

MFSL Super Deep Record Cleaner 16oz

Mobile Fidelity Super Deep Cleaner is made to clean very soiled LPs and is also recommended as a pre-cleaner for extra dirty records. Super Deep Cleaner can be used for removing pressing debris and 'mold release compound' from sealed LPs, as well. It's much more powerful than Super Record Wash and should be used as the first step in your cleaning process. As always, Mobile Fidelity Super Deep Cleaner is made with an exclusive Quad-Distilled, hyper-pure water base with a mild detergent that leaves no residue and cannot damage the surface of your records.

God Luck And Good Speed (Awaiting Repress)

Nearly five years after their second CD, the underrated Sixteen Tons, was seemingly flushed like so much unwanted bong water down the toilet of stoner rock's decline in popularity, the members of North Carolina's Weedeater found the strength to roll up a new one after hooking up with the Southern Lord label, and duly re-emerged with a hell of a comeback album. In fact, it's' a good bet that their invariably baked fan contingent would likely bestow 2007's God Luck and Good Speed with the highest possible honor of calling it really good shit, full-to-bursting with coarse, crusty, stoner sludgecore of the highest market value. This becomes immediately apparent on the album's impressive opening triple threat -- the earth-shaking grooves of the title track, the uproarious speed-blast of Wizard Fight, and the groove-driven laughs of For Evan's Sake -- all of which surf on surging waves of feedback, their tendrils forming dirty electric causeways for an extended, uninterrupted buzz. Then suddenly, all is quiet for the one-off austerity of Alone, featuring only a banjo, an acoustic bass, and vocalist Dixie Dave Collins replacing his trademark croak with a drunken baritone à la Tom Waits, stinking drunk out on the bayou. (Curiously, this track alone was recorded by Corrosion of Conformity's Mike Dean, while the rest of the album was produced by indie rock staple Steve Albini.) Punishing, viscous volume and distortion are resumed by subsequent aural bulldozers like the instrumental $20 Peanut, the doomy but somewhat dull Dirt Merchant, and the oddly named epic Weed Monkey (all interlocked by even more feedback, naturally). And to emphasize their sub-Mason Dixon line allegiance, Weedeater deliver an aptly sludge-encrusted cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Gimme Back My Bullets as sung by Swamp Thing. Final verdict? The wait was worth it: God Luck and Good Speed is definitely some of Weedeater's strongest stuff yet.

    Electric Balloon

    " a beaming mix of ice-cool vintage '80s no

group harmonies Ava Luna has infectious,
    minimalist, ESG-style beats for days."
    - SPIN

    "...itchy art-funk...future-perfect R&B...slip-sliding harmonics...
    - PITCHFORK

" equal parts brain and soul, pairing tricked-out synth work with Motown-inspired dance
    grooves."
    - THE NEW YORKER

After years of writing and performing, Ava Luna has refined their doo-wop soul meets
punk-as-fuck aesthetic into something bold and glaringly defiant in today's indie
music landscape. Following the release of their critically lauded first proper
full-length Ice Level, the band spent an intense 2-week period writing and recording in
upstate New York. Unlike previous efforts that were meticulously mapped out, the
songs that would become Electric Balloon were a family effort. according to frontman Carlos Hernandez. For the new album, former Columbia composition student
Hernandez relinquished the reins a bit, opting for a more organic approach to writing
the material for what would become Electric Balloon. As Hernandez explains, it was a
birth of confidence. I grew closer to my bandmates, began to see the roles of a
family playing out. Ethan cooks dinner for all of us, we make lewd jokes, and then
'after-dinner storytelling' takes the form of playing music.

In the wake of Ice Level, Ava Luna's sharp edges have melted away just enough, making
it easier to connect with their no-wave grooves and soaring harmonies. Distilling
everything from James Chance and ESG to contemporaries like Dirty Projectors and Of
Montreal, Ava Luna have landed on an aggressively unique sound that still manages to
be accessible. Hernandez goes on to explain the stories and moments here are
clearer, as in a conversation. The moment appears, you grab it with your hands, screw
the lid on the mason jar. There was no tweaking, no second-guessing. Julian's mantra
for the process: 'First thought best thought.' .And for my part, I sing my best about
encounters, friendships, some moments beautiful and others painful. A bike shop
manager in New Orleans, a derelict porch on Brighton Beach, a yellow sweater in a
kitchen in the Catskills, a water duct in the New Mexico desert

The G2 Record Cleaning Fluid Kit includes:

    • One 2 ounce bottle of G2 Fluid, with mist spray top.
    • One 4 ounce bottle of G2 Fluid with spout top. Use to refill the 2 oz mist spray bottle. 900+ mist sprays in this kit.
    • Label protector mask. Use to keep your record label dry when using the mist spray.
    • Record Cleaning Instruction Booklet.

GrooveWasher G2 Fluid is the result of years of research and testing. The formula was guided by the D series fluids of the 1970s. G2 is perfectly safe for vinyl records. The ingredients are balanced for effective cleaning without rinsing. Evaporates quickly after cleaning per instructions. Anti-static action on contact. Honest cleaning to release the honest sound of the recording.

Designed for use with the GrooveWasher cleaning pads. But you can use G2 Fluid with your preferred absorbent brush or fabric. NOTE: Carbon fiber brushes are non-absorbent and not designed for wet cleaning. Use of G2 Fluid with a carbon fiber brush is not recommended.

RCM owners tell us they prefer G2 Fluid for the cleaning cycle.

G2 does not fix scratches or scuffs. Once the signal in the microgroove is lost, nothing will recover it.

The two ounce mist spray bottle has more than 300 fine mist sprays. With the 4 ounce refill bottle this kit provides 900+ fine mist sprays. Enough to clean both sides of more than 100 records! (YMMV)

Some vinyl cleaning fluids on the market are plain distilled water with limited cleaning action. Others have a high level of alcohol which can harm vinyl records. Some leave a layer in the microgroove that reduces sound fidelity.

    High Tech G2 Fluid Contains:

    • Surfactants: State of the art detergents dissolve and suspend fingerprints and other oily grime.
    • Super wetting agent: A specialty chemical that reduces the G2 Fluid's surface tension to reach the bottom of the groove. When you spray G2 Fluid on a record you can see it spread down the grooves.
    • Emulsifiers: Holds the oils, dirt, mildew and microdust particles in suspension. Then the microfiber fabric cleaning pad wipes and pulls the dirt-filled solution from the record surface.
    • Purified, deionized water: Powerful carrier for the active cleaning ingredients. Eliminates static electric charges on the record's surface on contact.

I haven't realized how dirty my record grooves have been. I used the Groovewasher on a 1979 copy of JJ Cale's 5 record. This is a quiet, laid back, nice, record and I heard parts of JJ Cale's voice that I have not noticed before. This out shines all the competition. I hope this flies off of the shelves as people discover it. Keep up the good work. Thomas Lee

This is simply the best cleaning fluid available today. I highly recommend this product and this company. Dan B

Different Connection Types & Custom Lengths Available Upon Request

Note: All cables in our Bridges & Falls Series place their left and right channels in a single jacket, and feature our Asymmetrical Double-Balanced geometry with separate high-quality positive and negative conductors. This design allows for a thin, flexible, and uniquely versatile high-performance cable that can be terminated with a variety of today's connections, including 3.5mm (male or female), DIN, and RCA. In Bridges & Falls, you'll find better metals and more sophisticated technologies - including Air-Tube insulation, Dielectric-Bias System, and Noise-Dissipation System - at lower prices than ever before. Do keep in mind, however, that, by necessity, the plugs on Bridges & Falls cables are fairly close together. If the L and R inputs of your components are more than 3 (7.6cm) apart, please consider models from our Rivers or Elements Series.

Over 50,000 people have bungee jumped off the Victoria Falls Bridge, thrilling to a drop of 111 metres (364 ft) in front of spectacular Victoria Falls. The bridge crosses the Zambezi River, which is the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia in South-Eastern Africa. While neither the highest nor widest falls in the world, Victoria Falls is the largest sheet of falling water in the world with a width of 1,708 meters (5,604 ft) and height of 108 meters (354 ft).

SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER+ (PSC+) CONDUCTORS: Perfect-Surface Copper+ has an astonishingly smooth and pure surface. Proprietary metal-processing technology protects the wire's surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When high-purity low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion PSC+ conductor. PSC+ is manufactured by applying the same exceptional technology to an ultra-pure copper. The resulting sound quality is even more focused and simply less in the way. For over 30 years AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals; yet even we were surprised by the huge leap in performance made possible with Perfect-Surface Technology. PSC+ simply outperforms all previously available copper metals at any price. All of Victoria's conductors are solid. Electrical and magnetic interaction between strands in a conventional cable is the greatest source of distortion, often causing a somewhat dirty, harsh sound. Solid conductors are fundamental toward achieving Victoria's very clean sound.

POLYETHYLENE AIR-TUBE INSULATION: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. All of Victoria's conductors use PE Air-Tube Insulation because air absorbs next to no energy, and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. PE Air-Tube Insulation causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.

DIELECTRIC-BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1): All insulation slows down the signal on the conductor inside. When insulation is unbiased, it slows down parts of the signal differently, a big problem for very time-sensitive multi-octave audio. AudioQuest's DBS creates a strong, stable electrostatic field which saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This minimizes both energy storage in the insulation and the multiple nonlinear time-delays that occur. Sound appears from a surprisingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. The DBS battery packs will last for years. A test button and LED allow for the occasional battery check.

CARBON-BASED 3-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing captured RF Interference from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System. Metal and Carbon-Loaded synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment's ground plane.

ASYMMETRICAL DOUBLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY: Purpose designed for single-ended applications, Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry offers a relatively lower impedance on the ground for a richer, and more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both the ground and the shield, Double-Balanced designs separate the two for cleaner, quieter performance.

COLD-WELDED, DIRECT-SILVER PLATED PURE RED COPPER TERMINATIONS: This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source of distortion. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability. Red Copper offers a cleaner, clearer sound over nickel-plated or OFHC metals commonly found in competing manufacturers' plugs. Direct-Silver Plating offers one more important step toward greater clarity and doing no harm to the signal.
