Lindsey Buckingham / Christine McVieLongtime members of Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie have joined together to record their first-ever album as a duo. Simply titled LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM/CHRISTINE McVIE, the 10-song album will be released by Rhino Records.
The collaboration began three years ago when McVie rejoined Fleetwood Mac for the group's "On With The Show" tour. The pair went in to record new material prior to rehearsals for the tour and their natural creative chemistry was reignited. According to Buckingham, "We were exploring a creative process, and the identity of the project took on a life organically. The body of work felt like it was meant to be a duet album. We acknowledged that to each other on many occasions, and said to ourselves, 'what took us so long?!!'"
Working their natural singer-songwriter skills together came easily for the duo. Said Christine McVie, "We've always written well together, Lindsey and I, and this has just spiraled into something really amazing that we've done between us."
Sessions for the album took place at The Village Studios in Los Angeles, which is where Fleetwood Mac recorded several of their classic albums, including Tusk. Buckingham and McVie were joined in the studio by fellow bandmates Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, who supplied much of the dynamic rhythmic engine.
It's a huge honor for East West and WMG to partner with two of the best artists in rock history who've written, recorded and performed some of the most popular and enduring music of all time. 'Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie' is a very special collaborative album that showcases both of their stunning talents," said Dan Chalmers, President Rhino, East West & ADA UK. Golden Butter: The Best Of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band
The First Time Audiophile Vinyl 40th Anniversary Presentation Of Their Legendary Elektra Recordings
Mastered Impeccably From The Original Elektra Records Tapes by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios & At Capitol Records With Ron McMaster
Features The Original Gatefold Cover Album Art & Essay by Tony Glover
Along with fellow superstars Jefferson Airplane, Steve Miller Band and The Grateful Dead, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band was one of the first powerhouse rock acts of the sixties. With their phenomenal brand of Chicago blues music unlike any band before or after them, they helped to usher in the progressive underground rock movement.
With its core line-up of Paul Butterfield (harmonica/lead vocalist), Mike Bloomfield (guitar), Elvin Bishop (guitar), Sam Lay(drums), Mark Nataflin (keyboards) and Jerome Arnold (bass), this amazing band truly delivered many legendary blues and rock recordings during their successful reign at Elektra Records.
Blues masterpieces of the era still resonate today as Paul Butterfield and Co. foretold with their classic signature tunes like Born In Chicago, Look Over Yonders Wall, Mellow Down Easy and the mammoth blues prog-rocker East West. With the superstar talents that made up this band over the years, it was not uncommon to hear radio stations play entire sides of their revolutionary albums during the dawn of FM and underground radio.
Later albums would reveal even further extensions of the blues rock genre with classic renditions like Marvin Gaye's One More Heartache, Michael Nesmith's Mary Mary, plus more of their own prolific standards like Last Hope's Gone, Morning Blues and of course their Woodstock 1969 anthem Love March.
Elektra awarded The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and their huge fan base with a very extensive and amazing "Greatest Hits" package called Golden Butter back in 1972. Right from the start you get a healthy serving from their first monster release The Paul Butterfield Blues along with more solid tunes from other fine albums like East West, The Resurrection of Pigboy Crabshaw, In My Own Dream, Live and Keep On Movin'.
Out of print on vinyl for many years, it is with great pride and honor to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band classic Golden Butter - The Best Of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band on Friday Music.
As a first installment in the Paul Butterfield/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series, this amazing album features 18 of their most important songs from their legendary albums from1965 through 1973. From the early blues rock sounds of Shake Your Money-Maker and the lengthy live epic Driftin' and Driftin' to later day album radio favorites like Blind Leading the Blind, One More Mile and the pivotal Willie Dixon favorite Spoonful, this album truly shows the relevance and importance of this sorely missed iconic band.
Mastered impeccably from the original Elektra Records tapes by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Records with Ron McMaster, this super limited edition album also boasts the original gatefold cover album art and wonderful essay by Tony Glover, not seen in years!
The two HQ vinyl LP's are also protected by polylined sleeves as well as a polybag to help keep the album cover and albums in great condition for your blues collection.

Too TrueIn the summer of 2012, between tours supporting End of Daze, I
locked out the world and sat down in my apartment to write a new record
- clear view of the New York City sky through iron bars like a promise.
Like all compulsive minds, I was waiting to let the muse loose. And so
I spent the next week in a sparkling haze, and when I emerged from the
frenzy to go back on tour, indeed ten new songs came with. They were
bound together, not just by an overall sonic palette and new guitar pedal,
but by time, intention, and fervor. Do you hear Suede? Siouxie? Cold-wave
Patti? Madonna? Cure? Velvet and Paisley Undergrounds? Stone Roses?
Cuz I did.
Still later, in November 2012, I returned to Hollywood to record among
the lingering Pet Sounds at East West Studios, in pursuit of a bigger,
darker, more urgent sound. Sitting in the room with my favorite team of
regulars (Richard Gottehrer and Sune Rose Wagner producing, Alonzo
Vargas engineering), it was easy to add some flesh to my song skeletons.
But, unfortunately, the previous year of touring had reduced my voice
to a pale spectre of its former self. I left California with the heavy burden
of an unfinished album.
Truly one of those disguised blessings though - the extra time was a
gift. These songs weren't done at all! So I recorded vocals alone in my
bedroom studio, fueled by Rainer Maria Rilke, Anais Nin, Arthur Rimbaud,
Paul Verlaine, Charles Baudelaire, Sylvia Plath; the punk poet singers
Patti Smith and Lou Reed; and finally, an unhealthy obsession with the
Surrealists' manifesto of desire.
I write this now, many months later, on the up. So much of my life has
been defined, aided, and even saved by music. Too True is my best
attempt at joining the rock'n'roll ranks, of chasing pop into the dark,
and I am as ever, humbled that you listen.

Girl TalkSpeaking about her album Girl Talk, Kate Nash says, I worked with my girl band and the great producer Tom Biller. My friend Jeff Ellis engineered the record. I mixed the record at EastWest on Sunset Boulevard, I made four music videos and flew back to London. In London I recorded and released a song called 'Under-estimate The Girl' which caused an explosion online that was fun to watch. Then I went on tour. I have since been continuing to write and record and have started to plan releasing some of this new music. I'm going to be releasing this record on my own record label 'have 10p' which is exciting/scary/new/etc. but ultimately something I'm really pleased about. Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me SoundtrackHonored in 2012 with the GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award, Country Music Hall of Fame member Glen Campbell has recorded his last song.
I'm Not Gonna Miss You was written by Campbell and Julian Raymond specifically for a new documentary titled GLEN CAMPBELL: I LL BE ME. Produced by Raymond, the song was recorded in the Los Angeles-based Sunset Sound Factory and East West Recording Studios.
With a mere handful of piano chords, then a swell of harmonies, I m Not Gonna Miss You opens into the poignant, yet clear-eyed revelation of the things Alzheimer s steals. Almost lumbering through the melody, Campbell s weathered tenor confesses the painful truths of what is lost, the cost and the reality that it will all be lost to him, the man who can t remember. Pedal steel weeps, strings bathe the melody that rises against drums and an electric guitar that mirrors the unbreakable passage of life and time.
GLEN CAMPBELL: I LL BE ME is an epic human drama that intimately showcases the man and his music throughout Campbell s struggle with Alzheimer s. Chronicling the story of love, laughter, resilience and power of song, this film shows how against all odds, America s greatest country star would not give up. Directed and produced by James Keach (producer of Walk The Line) and produced by Trevor Albert (Groundhog Day).
Big Machine Records will proudly release a soundtrack for the film that also features The Band Perry, who previously paid tribute to Campbell during the 2012 GRAMMY Awards. The project also features Campbell s daughter Ashley who performs an original song.
We are so honored to not only release Glen Campbell s final recording, but to be associated with such a profound film that will help raise awareness of those suffering from Alzheimer s and spotlight the important role of those who care for them, remarked Big Machine Label Group President & CEO Scott Borchetta who serves as the project s Executive Producer with Keach.
Additionally, several of today s biggest musical stars appear in the film to pay tribute to the legend including Bruce Springsteen, Bill Clinton, The Edge (from U2), Paul McCartney, Jay Leno, Vince Gill, Jimmy Webb, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Steve Martin, Chad Smith, and The Band Perry.1. It was released in 1970 and was among the first works in the rock genre by an Indian musician. Consisting mainly of instrumental recordings featuring sitar and Moog synthesizer, it includes a cover version of the Rolling Stones' 1968 hit song Jumpin' Jack Flash and a thirteen-minute Indian-style piece titled Sagar (The Ocean).
