    Elephant

Ranked 390/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

    180 Gram Double LP.

Famously produced without the use of computers The White Stripes' true breakout masterpiece puts a new spin on vintage. Chances are good we don't have to tell you, but Elephant was miraculously made in just two weeks at a London studio outfitted with an eight-track tape machine and recording gear that predates the Beatles. While a loose concept album in theme, there's no missing the back to basics sound in its physical creation that makes it perfect for the raw fullness of vinyl.

Elephant won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. In addition to the smash hit Seven Nation Army, which won for Best Rock Song, the group's fourth release and first for a major label is highlighted by the punked-out blues riffs of Black Math, the high-pitched Queen-like squall of There's No Home For You Her, and the spirited interpretation of Burt Bacharach's I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself.

    Intoxicated Man / Pink Elephants

Mick Harvey, a long time Nick Cave collaborator and
bandmate (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds/Crime & The
City Solution) is releasing a remastered double album
collection of his most important solo works to date -
two Serge Gainsbourg albums, Intoxicated Man and
Pink Elephants. The double collection will include
two unreleased tracks, "Dr Jeckyll" and "Run From
    Happiness."

Intoxicated Man (1995) and Pink Elephants(1997)
are Mick Harvey's interpretations of the songs
of legendary singer, songwriter and poet Serge
Gainsbourg - they are the first major works translating
Gainsbourg's influential work from French to English.
Mick Harvey explains, "Translating a great writer is like
walking through a minefield and I set myself the difficult
task of attempting to keep the places of rhyming,
metre and meaning accurate to the originals."

The vocal parts originally sung by Gainsbourg's muses
Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot and daughter Charlotte
Gainsbourg are here sung by long time collaborator
Anita Lane - other guests on the albums include
Bertrand Burgalat, Warren Ellis, Nick Cave and David
    McClymont.

In 2013, Mick Harvey and his band performed the
songs of Serge Gainsbourg at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
curated ATP festival. Mick Harvey will be on tour in
Europe in the spring of 2014.

For the past 14 years, Elephant Micah's Joseph O'Connell has quietly self-released his music, sometimes collaborating with the psych-folk imprint Time-Lag Records or other very small labels. Despite the project's almost secretive status, Elephant Micah has repeatedly caught the attention of NPR, and has been championed by an impressive cohort of like-minded artists including Jason Molina, Hiss Golden Messenger, Dark Dark Dark, and Hurray for the Riff Raff.

GRAMMY® Award winners, Cage The Elephant will release UNPEELED worldwide via RCA Records. The new album was recorded over a series of intimate shows in cities including Los Angeles, Washington DC, Knoxville, and Nashville where the band performed in a stripped down arrangement with a string quartet and additional percussion. UNPEELED features twenty-one tracks: eighteen curated songs from their past four albums plus three reimagined versions of existing songs. Said frontman Matt Shultz about the inspiration behind the album: Many times you're adding sonic layers looking for something to hide behind, and what you don't realize is that that vulnerability and that nakedness might be the most compelling and interesting thing about the song.

Cage The Elephant consists of singer Matt Shultz, guitarist Brad Shultz, drummer Jared Champion, bassist Daniel Tichenor, lead guitarist Nick Bockrath and Matthan Minster on keyboard and backing vocals. Long celebrated as one of the most explosive live bands in the world, Cage The Elephant have sold out several headlining runs including a summer 2016 arena tour and recent sold out UK and European tour. Additionally, Cage The Elephant's self-titled debut album was recently certified RIAA platinum.

    Sky Swimming

Amelia Rivas and Christian Pinchbeck don't just sing about feverish, frayed and fractured romances - in the three years since forming elephant, they've been living one.

It's fitting that sky swimming, their debut full length release is a seductive, night time delight of an album. After all, it was in the twilight hours of a may morning three years ago that Pontefract native Amelia Rivas and Bristolian Christian Pinchbeck met at a house party and in alcohol-soaked all-nighter sessions that sky swimming was written.

A fibrous collection of songs about relationships - their own included, which broke down during the making of the album - hazy memories, twisted dreams, the metaphysical bleeding in to the physical - sky swimming - all trilling keyboards, swooping melodies, broken hip hop beats, looped strings and Amelia's uniquely curvy vocals - that makes you want to clamp your headphones tighter on your ears, letting you swim in its every detail and emotion. Influenced by everything from Toro y Moi to composer Angelo Badalamenti, everything but the girl to rap originators arrested development and Joe Meek's productions, it's an intensely varied listen.

"the first time we worked together, I went round to his house in Peckham and didn't leave for 3 days. I barely knew him," Amelia remembers. "She turned up with some £10 casio she bought from a charity shop in France and the whole demo EP was made on that," recalls Christian. Elephant have grown beyond their lo-fi roots since then, with Andy Dragazis being drafted in on co-production duties, while retaining the emotional rawness of those early songs. Tracks vary from psyche-delving ballads about growing up - torn tongues and skyscraper ("I want to understand what's wrong with my brain," Rivas laughs), to the thrilling pop of elusive youth, a eulogy to a friend who "wears a city crown", to the everyday trials of being young and poor in London (see ants about Amelia's crumbling tooting bedsit and TV dinner, a paean to rubbish telly and cheap booze) and the heartbreaking title track sky swimming written in the eye storm of their relationship meltdown with the refrain "do your eyes turn blue before you cry, I see the blue in you".

With winning appearances at Primavera and Eurosonic festivals behind them, not to mention support slots with cult hero Matthew E. White, under their belts, Elephant have in Sky Swimming one of the year's most seductive sounds. . "I flew to the moon to mirror you" sings Amelia on album closer Shapeshifter, with the sort raw melancholy that could only be cribbed from a blue valentine romance. "I saw the future." It should be a very bright future ahead for Elephant indeed.

    These Changing Skies (Awaiting Repress)

The five members of Elephant Revival share a deep commitment to certain ideals: community, recognizing one's place in the flow of the natural world, harmony. Holding on to those ideals in the midst of heady career growth and strong individual
creative forces could be difficult, but they weather these storms with aplomb, and in doing so, have produced their best album to date. It is a document about striving for transcendence under These Changing Skies which was recorded at legendary
Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, WA and was produced and mixed by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Brandi Carlile, The Walkmen).

Elephant Revival formed on the banks of Spring Creek in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and then relocated to Nederland, Colorado in fall of 2006. They loved one another's sense of shared values and the way that their disparate musical influences began to form a more cohesive tapestry the more they played together.

"It really is a natural confluence of our elemental influences," says bassist/multi-instrumentalist Dango Rose. Those elemental influences extend beyond the musical to a world view that is expressed not only through the music, but in their lyrics.

    Melophobia

Cage The Elephant's highly anticipated forthcoming third studio album, entitled 'Melophobia', is released via RCA Records. The album was recorded in Nashville, TN and reunites the band with producer Jay Joyce who produced the group's prior two releases.

This album has tested us as individuals and as a collective. We're five people fighting for our own ideologies of good music - we clash stylistically and sometimes even personally, said drummer Jared Champion. The studio is the place where we push all of those individual creative emotions together and smash them to the dispersion point until they explode like a Timebomb. With the explosion arrives something beautiful and in the end, when you listen back and goose bumps prick your skin like the first few drops of a summer rainfall on searing concrete, you know that you and your band of brothers have created something substantial. Conquering our melophobia is what drives us.

The new album is the follow up to 2011's acclaimed sophomore album Thank You Happy Birthday, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and has sold over 250,000 copies to date. Rolling Stone, New York Times, LA Times, USA Today, and Entertainment Weekly praised the release as one of the best rock albums of the year. The album also spawned the hit single Shake Me Down which spent six weeks at #1 at Alternative radio. Their acclaimed self-titled debut album was released in 2009 and has sold over 550,000 copies to date. The album remained on the Billboard 200 Chart for an astounding 73 consecutive weeks and produced three Top 5 singles at Alternative Radio, including the massive hit Ain't No Rest For The Wicked. In additional to numerous Sold Out headline runs, Cage The Elephant has toured with Black Keys, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Stone Temple Pilots, Foals, Silversun Pickups, Manchester Orchestra, and many more.

    Tell Me I'm Pretty

Tell Me I'm Pretty was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys & The Arcs. With this record, we wanted to be more transparent, said lead singer Matt Shultz. We wanted to capture the sentiment of each song, and whatever emotional response it provoked, to be really honest to that. The results are the band's most forceful and focused songs yet. They recorded most of the songs on the 10-song album on the first take, capturing the band's raw and frenetic onstage energy. Their last album, Melophobia, was nominated for a Grammy for Best Alternative Album.

200-gram 33 1/3 LP, mastered at Sterling Sound by Ryan Smith from the Analog Tapes

Plated and Pressed by Quality Record Pressings

Deluxe tip-on Jacket by Stoughton Printing

    Featuring Baby Elephant Walk

Featured on Harry Pearson's Famous Recommended List of fine audio recordings

Coming off a double Oscar win for his Breakfast at Tiffany's score, Henry Mancini produced this score for the Howard Hawks-directed, John Wayne-starring safari comedy Hatari!.

This is at first a fun blend of jazz and Afro-exotica, jungle drums mixed with a classic bop combo. Elsewhere, however, the soundtrack opts for some pleasant, but very Western jazz, only stopping for the African instrument-sampler 'The Sounds of Hatari,' which features some nice treated piano. The filmmakers were probably hoping that the Mercer and Carmichael song 'Just for Tonight' would be as much a success as Tiffany's 'Moon River,' but if Hatari! is memorable for anything, it's for the incredibly goofy 'Baby Elephant Walk,' which has gone on to be infamous musical shorthand for kookiness of any stripe. - AllMusic.com.

Now Music from the Paramount Picture score Hatari! is back bigger and better than ever! We've gone the deluxe Analogue Productions route - remastered from the original analog tape by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound, cut at 33 1/3 RPM, plated and pressed as a 200-gram LP at Quality Record Pressings. Then packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket from Stoughton Printing. A great title, a brilliant reissue. Exceptional!

Would I Find Your Psychic Guideline

From the West coast bedroom pop beginnings of last year's A Sea As A Shore, Aaron Deer's (one half of The Impossible Shapes) one time solo project is now anchored with the drumming kaleidoscope of Shelley Harrison on this 12-inch. Now a duo, the Elephant Six foundations have given way to a treasure trove of pounding rhythms and repetitive organ lines not unlike NY's Oneida at their devilish best on Each One Teach One, or 20-odd years earlier when Philip Glass and Suicide brought the minimalist keyboard aesthetic to the rest of the world...but don't be mislead. This is a 12-inch, not some overly heady art-damaged Brooklyn piece of vinyl. It's corn-fed, head-bobbin' music from the Midwest.

    Wide Awake

Rayland Baxter's new album is a dream realized. Since he first started writing music, this roving rock 'n' roll philosopher dreamed of a space where he could devote every waking hour to creating. The hard-touring musician finally found it in the form of an abandoned rubber band factory in Franklin, KY, where he covered the windows, threw a mattress on the floor, and with guitar and piano in tow, spent three straight months writing. At night he would sit and listen the sounds around him: coyotes, the howling wind, the faint prattle of the nightly TV news. The result of this isolation quest is 'Wide Awake' a ten-song collection that celebrates the best aspects of humanity and grasps at understanding the worst.

'Wide Awake' was produced by Butch Walker and features Walker himself on bass, Cage the Elephant's Nick Bockrath on guitar, Dr. Dog's Erick Slick on drums, and piano wizard Aaron Embry (Elliott Smith, Brian Eno) on keys.

    Travellers In Space And Time

I wanted to make a futuristic pop record, to reach out to the kids of the future. It is what I imagine their more highly-evolved pop might sound like: shiny soul music with robots and humans singing together. We are sending a pop music message through time. So says The Apples in stereo / Elephant 6 collective mastermind Robert Schneider. The Apples' new album and seventh studio effort, Travellers in Space and Time is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed hit album New Magnetic Wonder and their second release in association with Elijah Wood's Simian Records. Travellers finds the studio-obsessed indie rockers continuing the hook-heavy pop mastery they achieved on New Magnetic Wonder, an album that spawned performances on Conan O'Brien and Stephen Colbert, along with numerous commercial placements (Pepsi, Samsung, New Balance) and even a performance of hit single Energy by the contestants of American Idol. Well over a year in the making, the new material recasts the Apples' signature pop sounds in chrome-plated futurism, all while adding a dance-driven vibe channeling ELO, Barry Gibb, Wild Honey-era Beach Boys and Off The Wall-era Michael Jackson.

    Eat Their Own

Known for his work with Soft Black, New Jersey's Vincent Cacchione aka Caged Animals, has created a highly personal, wistfully nostalgic world that basks in the golden glow of love both new (Lips That Turn the Light To Fire) and old (Teflon Heart) in the haze of regret (This Summer I'll Make It Up To You) and the blur of days gone by. Taken collectively, these are songs which gather resonance with every listen and poignancy with every play, lending increasing depth and profundity towards the fleeting moments in life which we only wish could linger a little more.

Caged Animals is a wired world, but simultaneously an innocent version of darker concepts, mixing lyric and melody to create the sweetest sensation. It's a world inhabited by Raymond Carver vignettes and exhibitions of raw Neil Rough portraiture or Robert Frank's The Americans and it could be sound tracked by The Elephant 6 collective playing Dion covers, Sun Ra's future-jazz moogs and grooves, no wave's awkward DNA or Captain Beefheart at his most playful.

    Blunderbuss

The White Stripes frontman's debut solo LP features the lead single, Love Interruption, with White accompanied by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Ruby Amanfu. White previously described Blunderbuss as an album [he] couldn't have released until now.

I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name, he said. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.

Born the youngest of ten children, raised in Southwest Detroit and a resident of Nashville since 2005, White is one of the most prolific and renowned artists of the past 15 years. When the White Stripes started in 1997 no one, least of all Jack, ever expected that a red-and-white two-piece band would take hold in the mainstream world. With the release of 2001's White Blood Cells the band was thrust on magazine covers and captivating audiences through worldwide touring. "Fell in Love With a Girl" served as the band's breakthrough hit and its accompanying Michel Gondry Lego clip was chosen by Pitchfork Media as the No. 1 music video of the 2000's. The release of Elephant in 2003 not only cemented the band's reputation as a force to be reckoned with, but it also offered the hit "Seven Nation Army" which has since become appropriated as a de facto stadium chant for many sports teams the world over.

Music Composed By Henry Mancini (The Pink Panther, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Peter Gunn, Charade)

If the recognition of one's peers is the true measure of success, then few men are as successful as composer, arranger, and conductor Henry Mancini. In a career that spanned 40 years, writing for film and television, Mancini won four Oscars and twenty Grammys, the all-time record for a pop artist. Plus he received a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.

Mancini's best-known works include the jazz-idiom theme to The Pink Panther film series (The Pink Panther Theme), his Moon River to Breakfast at Tiffany's, and the theme to the Peter Gunn television series. The Peter Gunn Theme won the first Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Mancini also had a long collaboration on film scores with the film director Blake Edwards.

Henry Mancini produced the score for the Howard Hawks-directed, John Wayne-starring safari comedy Hatari! which included the well-known Baby Elephant Walk. This is at first a fun blend of jazz and Afro-exotica, jungle drums mixed with a classic bop combo. Elsewhere, however, the soundtrack opts for some pleasant, but very Western jazz, only stopping for the African instrument-sampler The Sounds of Hatari, which features some nice treated piano.

The American Film Institute nominated the score from Hatari! as one of the greatest film scores of all time.

    Music Composed By Henry Mancini

Charade is a 1963 Technicolor American romantic comedy/mystery film directed by Stanley Donen, written by Peter Stone and Marc Behm, and starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. It spans three genres: suspense thriller, romance, and comedy.

The film is notable for its screenplay, for having been filmed on location in Paris and for Henry Mancini's score and theme song. Charade has received generally positive reviews from critics and was additionally noted to contain influences of genres such as whodunit, screwball and spy thriller.

Film director Stanley Donen had been charmed by Henry Mancini's song Baby Elephant Walk from the film Hatari!, so he contacted Mancini from London to tell him about his current picture. Donen had directed several famous musical films throughout the 1950s and he now intended to put his own slant on a Hitchcock-like thriller and he wanted a strong melody in the background score.

    Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics.

The title track Charade is a sad, lonely Parisian waltz. It was nominated that year for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
