    LA EP

Earlier this year, Atlanta's Dog Bite found themselves with downtime in Los Angeles between a successful tour with labelmates Toro Y Moi and shows at SXSW in Austin. The four-piece that makes up the touring group started messing around with different sounds and came up with their rst full-band release, the LA EP. This document of the road-tested crew is a stunning sequel to Velvet Changes, the band's debut LP, which showcased the talents of singer-songwriter Phil Jones and bassist Woody

The LA EP begins with "Warm, Wake Up," a song that
captures the bliss of a sunny day in the palm tree-dotted landscape and the romantic intrigue of Hollywood's studio lots. Motoring back down that winding road, we hear "Hunting Seasons where mid-20th century boogie haunts the track's guitars as the reverberating beat oats us back up to the clouds.

A feeling of melancholia drifts throughout the EP's songs. But the saddest part about this collection is its 13-minute length. It ies by like a short vacation or a cool breeze. But much more than sorrow for its passing, the LA EP inspires excitement for the next gust of wind.

    Broken Dreams Club EP

The San Franciscan songwriting duo Girls, comprised of Christopher Owens and Chet 'J.R.' White, return with the follow up to their debut entitled Album. In 2009, Girls introduced the world to a deeply heartfelt confessional album that at once channels some of the classic songsmiths of all time while demonstrating a unique sense of songwriting and production, Album brought critical acclaim to ranging from placements on year-end lists, sold out shows at some of the world's most famous venues and rapturous audiences worldwide.

2010's Broken Dreams Club EP is the natural follow up to Album but introduces a massive sonic shift for the band, in their homemade studio in San Francisco with J.R. White at the helm. On Broken Dreams Club, we find Girls emerging with a more massive, lusher sound with horns, pedal steel and psychedelic effects dappled throughout. This EP features 6 brand new songs (a few of which that have been in recent setlists) with a running time of 35 minutes.

    EP II(+ Skisser EP)

Alice Boman's voice hits with the emotional force and haunting fragility of Nina Simone. Timeless and direct, the Scandinavian singer returns with a wistful collection of songs on EP II, set to be released via The Control Group (Cate Le Bon, El Perro Del Mar), with a special bonus edition of the stunning debut EP, Skisser.

Hailing from Malmö, Sweden, the singer/songwriter first appeared when she released 2013's Skisservia Adrian Recordings in Europe. Swedish for sketches, Skisser was just that - delicate home recordings from her bedroom Boman gracefully unleashed to the world, that were never meant to fall on any other ears but her own.
Swedish label, Adrian Recordings were wrapping up after a busy summer and had no intention of doing an additional release, heard Skisser and claimed that time itself stopped, and decided to issue the EP on vinyl. The response was overwhelming, with whispers of her craft on The Line of Best Fitand The Wild Honey Pie, eventually growing so loud, that praise from the likes of Interview Magazineand The Guardian naturally followed.

Lead track and first single from the release, What, is a lo-fi fairy tale and fitting introduction to EP II.Much in the vein of Skisser, Boman's penchant for creating beauty through simplicity is carried across to EP II. My lyrics are quite simple and maybe don't give room for a lot of interpretations, so maybe there is not even any need for descriptions, she muses about the new release, which was recorded in a cabin in the Swedish woods - a fitting backdrop to the ethereal EP. And anyway, I like it when you let the music and the lyrics speak for themselves.

    Bulldozer EP

Remastered By Steve Albini And Bob Weston At Chicago Mastering

Big Black was started by Steve Albini in 1982 while he
was living in Evanston, Illinois, and attending Northwestern
University. Lungs, the first Big Black release, was recorded by
Steve in 1982 on a borrowed 4-track. He played everything on
the EP himself except the sax bleating courtesy of pal John
Bohnen and the drums courtesy of Roland. Soon after, Steve
recruited Jeff Pezzati (Naked Raygun) to help him out on bass.
Santiago Durango (Naked Raygun) joined them on guitar. In
1983, together with live drummer Pat Byrne, they recorded the
Bulldozer EP. It was initially released in a limited edition
galvanized metal album jacket on Fever Records. By 1984, the
band had done some touring and signed a deal with Homestead
Records, releasing the Racer X EP, the Il Duce 7", and their
first full-length Atomizer as well as The Hammer Party CD.
Shortly after those releases, freed from their Homestead deal,
Big Black came to Touch and Go. In 1992, Touch and Go re-released the Bulldozer EP.

By 1987, Big Black released two additional 7"s, The
Headache EP, as well as their second full-length Songs About
Fucking. They toured extensively (for Big Black). And they
broke up. To quote the album insert in Songs About Fucking:
"Hey, breaking up is an idea that has occurred to far too few
groups. Sometimes to the wrong ones."

When they broke up, Santiago Durango decided to go
to law school and is now a lawyer. While in law school, he released two EP's on Touch and Go Records as Arsenal. Steve
Albini went on to form Rapeman and then Shellac. He also
owns and operates Electrical Audio recording studio in Chicago.

    Full Color Sleeve

Just in time for Summer, Wrongtom emerges with a new vinyl EP on Tru Thoughts to take over the air-
waves and sound systems across the festval season and beyond. Out on 12' vinyl in a full colour sleeve
with an eerie, ouija board-inspired theme, the Possessed EP' continues in the spirit of his series of
'Wrongtom Meets' projects, boasting collaborations with Tippa Irie, JC Lodge, The Ragga Twins, Desta
Zion, The Correctonal Horns and Deemas J as well as a bonus cut from his long-standing live reggae/
dub collectve the Stoneleigh Mountain Rockers.

The Possessed EP' uses the killer rhythm from 'In East London' track Suzy Hangs Out', this inspired
move sprang from a chat about beats with Mark Professor, who happened to pass the rhythm on to
reggae singer JC Lodge 's husband Errol, who passed it on to JC. Oblivious to all this, Wrongtom was
then contacted out of the blue a while later with the beautiful Possession', showcasing the talent
of the revered singer who was signed to Tommy Boy records back in the day and collaborated with
Shabba Ranks and many others. So, with that brilliant track suddenly in my hand, I thought maybe I
should get a few diferent people on this rhythm and do what the classic reggae producers did', says
Wrongtom: release a set of versions'.

Wrongtom signed to Tru Thoughts in 2013, releasing the 'In East London' album under the Wrongtom
Meets Deemas J collaborative name, which brought praise from all corners for its uplifing and cele-
bratory yet down and dirty, vintage dub-infused sound. The tastemakers who lined up to heap praise
on the album ranged from The Quietus, The Wire and FACT to Record Collector, MOJO, Q, Clash and

    EP #260

    One-Time Pressing Of 1500 Copies

SQÜRL is: Jim Jarmusch, Carter Logan and Shane Stoneback. An enthusiastically marginal rock band from New York City who like big drums & distorted guitars, cassette recorders, loops, feedback, sad country songs, molten stoner core, chopped & screwed hip-hop, and imaginary movie scores.

SQÜRL began in 2009 when Jim Jarmusch and Carter Logan teamed with producer Shane Stoneback to record some original music for the film The Limits of Control. Echoing the varied Spanish landscapes captured in the film, the three emerged with a set of slow-motion psychedelic rock instrumentals (releasing them as Bad Rabbit). Following these scoring sessions Jim, Shane, and Carter continued to record new originals while also exploring the back-alleys of American country, noise, and psychedelia. SQÜRL released a series of 3 EPs, recorded over a 3 year period by Shane at Treefort Recording in Brooklyn, NY. Jarmusch and Logan's collaboration continued as a duo with SQÜRL's acclaimed score for Paterson, and a trio with Stoneback for EP #260.

    Everlasting EP

Despite some personal problems and a general sense of chaos surrounding the band, Refused successfully managed to put together this seven-song EP of classic Swedish hardcore in 1994. Originally released in Europe on Startrec Records, Everlasting eventually hit stores in America on the Equal Vision imprint in 1997. More metallic than earlier releases, this disc has a progressive hardcore sound that bested the band's full-length debut, This Just Might Be the Truth. If the music changed a little, the group's staunch left-wing political outspokenness remained intact as just about every track rails against all things Western, especially cold corporate might and cultural imperialism. Standout tracks like Burn It and The Real stand up to the best American hardcore with their punchy riffs and highly charged, yet intelligent vocals. While much more raw than Refused's most recognized and accomplished effort, 1998's The Shape of Punk to Come, Everlasting is perhaps the group's second-best offering, demonstrating their significant mid-career development.

    L1 EP

For much of the Brooklyn duo's career, Beacon has worked
with a kind of effervescent, forward-looking R&B that evokes
out-of-body experiences, but with their new L1 EP, the music
is anchored assuredly to your flesh, bone, and physical
senses. The brawny synth timbres which open lead track
Fault Lines and the stomping beats bolstering gauzy
falsettos on confident songs like Minor Structure set the
tone for a new phase in Beacon's evolution, one geared
toward the movements and magnetism of human bodies. As
producer Jacob Gossett puts it, Our records have often been
described as moments after the night has given way, a
'comedown after the club.' Hopefully, this record inspires
people to go back out for one more.

Mixed by Al Carlson-who has worked on Autre Ne Veut's
Anxiety and St. Vincent's Marry Me, among many other
notable records-L1's five tracks focus on themes provided
by a natural phenomenon in gravitational physics known as
Lagrangian points. The title itself refers to the point in space
where a satellite can fall in synchronous orbit with the earth
around the sun, caught between the two gravitational pulls
and never falling out of sync. With a breathy voice that
sounds as vulnerable as it does touchingly sanguine, singer
and producer Thomas Mullarney III translates the idea to
nuanced musings on internal conflict, human relationships,
and questions about desire, guilt, and pleasure. I wanted to
stage intimacy and desire as natural forces," explains
Mullarney, "spinning with reflex and intuition, caught within
    different spheres of influence."

    Worth EP

Mas Ysa, the project of nomadic composer Thomas Arsenault, combines love songs, unabashed ecstatic pop, prayer, field recordings and techno into triumphant, danceable, melancholy folk music that pummels the heart rather than dances around it.

Born in Montreal with formative years spent in San Paolo at hard-techno raves, Arsenault's life is one of human and musical experience rather than eye-searing laptop screens. After studying composition at Oberlin Conservatory, where he joined the Ohio-based Shinkoyo art collective, Arsenault headed west for San Francisco to assist kindred-spirit cult artist Warner Jepson.

Eventually, Arsenault landed on Kent Avenue in Brooklyn, occupying a sprawling loft complex connected to the underground venues 285 Kent and Glasslands. There, he built a studio that yielded records by everyone from Cass McCombs to Laurel Halo, getting out of bed in the dead of night to write songs and record sonic fragments. During the day, Arsenault explored the other side of modern composition by collaborating with Rashaun Mitchell of the storied Merce Cunningham Dance Company.

Born as a live experience in early 2012, Mas Ysa hoists this voracious music history and crashes it head-on with blunt emotional trauma. Early shows vacillated between dancefloor catharsis and inner pain, emphasizing both ritualistic transcendence and the universal bond of folk music.
